Seasons of Wonder: A Wonder Woman Fanfiction Story
Watercolors Rise:
One day, in New Gateway, Florida...
Wonder Woman as Diana and Etta are sitting in a movie theater. The movie theater's front entrance is mostly silvery and black with painted blue pillars.
Diana is in a mostly red and sparkly dress. Etta Ranch is in a puffy sleeved dark green dress. They have two theater styled blue and white bags of popcorn. They have two big blue cups of water with straws.
On the movie screen...
Batgirl narrates, "you may think my story is a team up movie with Batman. Well... Only the first fifteen minutes and the last fight of the movie really."
Batgirl throws a purple lined and mostly silvery Batarang into a warehouse garage door. The garage door explodes in flames.
Batgirl continues, "Batman and my father Commissioner Gordon just don't understand I'm not little anymore: I'm fifteen already! Ugh!"
She speed charges right through the cloud of smoke with her mostly darkish gray motorcycle.
Several thugs fire jet black two-handed light gun pointers at Batgirl.
But... Batgirl speeds past all the laser fast fire.
Batgirl smirks to herself as she does.
Batgirl implies, "as for the villain of the hour... Well, he hasn't really grown up."
The screen changes over to a boardroom. Movie studio executives including Garfield Lynns are there.
He is holding up a mostly white movie poster. The Fire Boys is written across it in flame styled letters.
He complains, "what do you mean you're not getting my movie made? I even threw in free pyrotechnics this time for this! Free pyrotechnics!"
On his movie poster... Boys are firing fire from their hands at running screaming little girls.
A movie studio executive nervously tells Garfield, "I'm sorry. But, this movie is far from what most people with money want."
Garfield cries out angrily, "ahh! !"
He gets out a flamethrower. The movie studio executives run out of the room screaming.
Garfield starts burning the boardroom up...still angrily crying out.
Batgirl continues, "but I'm getting a little ahead of myself. This...is the story I became Batgirl."
The screen is changing back to Batgirl's scene.
A movie logo for Batgirl modeled after her Batarang briefly appears on the screen.
Batgirl brakes hard on her motorcycle. She jump spins off of her motorcycle.
She in midair kicks two thugs hard. They both fall unconscious.
Batgirl tumble lands back on her feet. She smirks to herself as she does.
Back in the movie theater...
Etta lightly says, "wow. This is even better than I thought!"
She and Diana smile wide.
They both eat some popcorn from their bags. Diana drinks some water.
More sounds of thugs getting kicked hard to the ground by Batgirl.
Diana deduces, "it definitely is. Steve thought it would be a "dull just Batman led" 2014 movie. Now he has no excuse for not watching it on DVD with me."
Etta chuckles. Etta adds, "that's true."
Diana chuckles. Etta drinks some water.
Diana suggests, "Etta? I just realized something. That fight between Zeus followers and Athena followers in the parking lot... Doesn't it remind you of this movie?"
Not long before, in the parking lot of a certain movie theater...
A group of Zeus followers and a group of Astraea Cycle followers start firing laser fast fire at each other. Several people duck for cover behind their cars.
The group of Zeus followers has drawn out yellow light gun pointers. Some of them wear mostly white and thunderbolt covered Greek robes. The group of Astraea Cycle followers has drawn out silvery light gun pointers. Some of them wear outer space starred black Astraea Cycle robes.
Zeus followers angrily call out, "end the Astraea Cycle! Destroy backwards wisdom worshippers!"
Astraea Cycle followers angrily call out, "no unworthy king of skies! Destroy the thunderbolt demons!"
Diana is getting into her Wonder Woman battle wear.
She and Etta Ranch have ducked for now by Etta's car. Her car is silvery lined and mostly dark blue.
Diana concludes, "I don't know what started this battle Etta. But, we have to stop it before innocent people are destroyed."
Etta figures, "damn Zeus followers probably started it. Moderate sigh. But, what did you have in mind?"
Diana offers, "tiara or lasso?"
Diana smirks. Etta smiles back.
She chooses the golden lasso. Diana hands it to her.
Etta twirls the golden lasso hard into several light gun pointers. They all go flying out of the hands of Zeus followers.
Etta run charges for one of the Zeus followers. She punches him hard.
Most of the Zeus followers are knocked over like bowling pins.
Diana as Wonder Woman hurls her tiara across several light gun pointers. They all go flying out of the hands of Astraea Cycle followers.
Wonder Woman runs across the parking lot with her Amazon wristbands up. The rest of the laser fast fire is deflected harmlessly to the ground.
Several Zeus followers and several Astraea Cycle followers are staring at her and Etta in confusion.
Wonder Woman catches her circling back tiara. She puts it back on her head.
Several people sigh in relief. They soon head into the movie theater.
Wonder Woman turns to the group of Zeus followers and the group of Astraea Cycle followers.
Wonder Woman tries to assure, "come on, people. While it is okay to disagree... Do you really have to battle over everything just because your gods and goddesses say so?"
Some of the Zeus followers and Astraea Cycle followers scoff.
One of the Astraea Cycle followers explains, "our gods and goddesses didn't put us up to this. Zeus's followers are coming out with a movie with dangerous lies about Athena and calling it The Evil of Athena! We had to destroy them first."
Most of the Astraea Cycle followers agree. Most of the Zeus followers angrily glare at them.
Etta whispers to Wonder Woman, "I've heard of movie critics before. But, this is crazy."
Wonder Woman nods to her.
Wonder Woman suggests to the Astraea Cycle followers, "well, the truth is important. Why don't you come out with your own movie so that the public can hear both sides to the story? If funding is a problem... You can at least turn to your gods and goddesses for help."
Most of the Astraea Cycle followers agree. Most of them smile.
Most of the Zeus followers angrily grumble. But, they walk away.
Suddenly... Wonder Woman finds herself pulled into goddess time.
With a bittersweet smile... Athena says, "you did very well."
She's standing in front of her.
Wonder Woman points out, "wait. If you weren't too busy... Why didn't you stop the fight yourself? Your followers would have quickly listened to you."
Athena points out, "they would quickly listen to you too Diana. That's a sign of good conscience for them: With or without my help."
Somewhat uneasily... Wonder Woman asks, "thank you?"
Athena bittersweetly implies, "there are bigger fights coming this year, Diana. I hope you can continue to prepare for them."
Wonder Woman somewhat lightly concludes, "after you helped destroy Aresia... Of course I trust you. But, Athena... What aren't you telling me?"
Athena puts a kind of comforting hand on hers.
Athena kind of cryptically voices, "I wish it was that simple, Diana. I am your friend. But... Moderate sigh. Some things are still better to find out later. Keep your friends close, Diana. When the time comes... You'll see why."
Athena waves goodbye to Wonder Woman. She vanishes.
Wonder Woman returns to mortal time. Wonder Woman as Diana looks somewhat nervous still.
Etta asks in concern, "Diana? What's wrong?"
Diana reasons, "Athena has been kind of cryptic again. Part of it is to keep my friends close."
Etta lightly deduces, "that part doesn't sound cryptic: It is just good advice."
She hands Diana back her golden lasso. She takes it.
Diana lightly adds, "that's true."
She puts a comforting hand on Etta's. They both smile some.
Etta wonders, "so... Are we still seeing the movie?"
Diana somewhat lightly assures, "yes we are. I'll tell you more of what Athena told me later."
Etta adds, "okay then."
Presently, back in the movie theater...
Etta chuckles. Etta considers, "damn. You're right Diana. It kind of does. Good thing you and Batgirl are fighting for truth and freedom."
They both smile wide. They continue to watch the Batgirl movie.
Three and a half mortal hours later...
Etta and Diana finished watching the movie.
Etta is driving back to her house. She dropped off Diana by a certain hotel.
Diana is about to head up to her and Steve's hotel suite...when Batman and Superman show up.
Diana greets, "hello Superman and Batman. You have the Batplane overhead. I take it we have a mission." Superman adds, "yes we do."
The three of them smile.
Over his battlesuit's comlink... Superman whispers, "but, Bruce? I'd still like to know how you and Diana first met each other."
Batman blushes a little. Diana tries hard not to laugh.
With a slight glare... Batman mutters, "fine: After this mission. Black Manta and his new allies are heading for Atlantis...and things can get complicated for Aquaman fast. I still have to explain what's fully going on to him and Mera on the way. Maybe you both can help."
Superman and Diana nervously smile some. Batman smiles a little.
Soon... Batman is steering the Batplane for the Bermuda Triangle: With Superman, Diana as Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Mera onboard.
Aquaman, also known as Orin or Arthur Curry, is a Atlantean with watercolor medium dark blond hair, light green legs, and a gold trident. Mera is a Atlantean with watercolor slightly curly and bright red long hair. She has dark green legs.
In the clouds... A set of flashes with silhouettes fly by: Of a ship crash landing into Atlantis with mistaking the island for water waves, of a crew nervously pacing on the ship, of two Atlanteans sneaking over to the ship in the middle of the night, of them helping the crew get off the island with semi-water upgrades to the ship, of the two Atlanteans and the crew leaving the island on the ship, of Poseidon putting a god wall of water around the island to come back up whenever someone trespasses on the island, of many ships sinking by Atlantis, of two certain Atlanteans each getting married to a different mortal and creating a son together with them, of the two families swimming and laughing and playing on shorelines of America for years...and of thought bubbles "Aquaman" and "Ocean Master" appearing by the two sons as they swim in the waters.
The two thought bubbles expand into blurbs.
This is what the blurbs say:
The three fates said Aquaman is destined to become the new king of Atlantis one day. Mera escapes from Atlantis and goes to a grown up Aquaman for help in freeing Atlantis from Poseidon. But, they for many months haven't gotten past Poseidon's god wall of water.
A grown up Orm has pity for his Atlantean father, Aquaman, and Aquaman's Atlantean mother for "limiting their great power on land". Orm left land to search "for better waters". He, as Ocean Master, has clashed with supervillains on the waters for many months.
Wonder Woman, Superman, Aquaman, and Mera are standing in a circle in the cockpit of the Batplane. Aquaman and Mera have introduced themselves to Wonder Woman and Superman.
With some mixed feelings... Aquaman concludes, "outrageous! Ocean Master and me may not get along a lot. But, he wouldn't team up with anyone to destroy Atlantis: We both want to save the Atlanteans."
Wonder Woman supposes, "Mera's identical twin sister Hila is known for using magic for evil. Maybe Black Manta convinced her to mind control your childhood friend to work with him."
Mera brings up, "but Hila and Ocean Master have been partners for many months. They like each other! Even she wouldn't go so low to mind control him of all people."
By then... Batman has the Batplane hover over a island not far from Atlantis.
Batman walks over to Wonder Woman, Superman, Aquaman, and Mera.
Superman reasons, "regardless of who is doing the mind controlling... We have to get him to snap out of it. It's the right thing to do." Batman adds, "might also help our odds."
They all agree. They all smile some.
Wonder Woman awkwardly asks Mera, "um... Can I talk to you for a second? It's kind of private." Mera just says, "of course."
She and Wonder Woman go to the back of the Batplane.
Aquaman lightly supposes, "ohh! I know. We do a World of New Light concert, and then all mind controlled Atlanteans will be free. We can all dance and sing against Poseidon!"
Batman solemnly concludes, "I wish it was that easy. But, Poseidon can quickly turn Atlantis into a Tear Dome."
Superman adds, "it's still a nice dream, Aquaman." Aquaman adds, "thank you Superman."
Wonder Woman checks with Mera, "I... I understand talking about your sister Hila can be a hard subject. But... Are you sure you haven't fought a Amazon before?"
Mera sincerely says, "thank you for your consideration of my feelings." Wonder Woman sincerely says, "you're welcome Mera."
Teary eyed... Mera solemnly admits, "I never fought any Amazons: I and Arthur helped defend them from Orm and Hila on several occasions. She's destroyed Atlanteans, humans, Nereid...! Hard sniffle. Poseidon tried to destroy her for destroying Nereid. But, Orm rescued her. I... Hard sniffle. It's so hard for me sometimes to even think about my family. All those lives destroyed because of her and Orm. Hard sniffle. I wish we could have saved them all."
She's crying over Wonder Woman's shoulder. They hug each other close.
Wonder Woman tries to assure, "it's okay. It's okay. We'll save the Atlanteans from Poseidon, your sister, and Black Manta. We have Athena on our side. We've got to."
After a bit... Mera tells her, "thank you."
They solemnly smile some. The teariness in their eyes is slowly but surely drying up.
Ten mortal minutes later, at the island of Atlantis...
Black Manta, twenty henchmen in Black Manta suits, Hila, and Ocean Master swim charge for Atlantis.
Black Manta fires red energy rays from his helmet at Atlantis. Poseidon's god wall of water goes up.
Just then... Black Manta coldly says, "Orm, Hila... You're up."
Hila darkly grins. Ocean Master coldly smiles.
They shapeshift their Atlantean hands to merge with a section of the god wall of water.
Ocean Master is a Atlantean with watercolor black hair, dark red legs, and a silvery trident. Mera's identical twin sister Hila, also known as Siren, wears a gray tiara with a crumpling seashell on it.
Black Manta, with one of his harpoon grappling hooks, electrifies Ocean Master's trident while it's his hand. It causes a brief fluctuation in the god wall of water.
Just then... Siren and Ocean Master tear the fluctuation open into a mystical big hole.
Black Manta declares, "at last, I'm getting Atlantis's treasure. Destroy the Atlanteans!"
He, his henchmen, Siren, and Ocean Master charge through the hole. They're firing at Atlanteans with fireballs, red ray blasts, mystical silver bolts, and mystical whirlpools.
Atlanteans battle cry. They fire back with blue spirit energy chains and spirit energy tentacles.
Mera creates a mystical water bubble to keep the hole in the god wall of water open long enough for Wonder Woman in her Spiritwear, Batman, Aquaman, and Superman to get onto Atlantis.
The mystical water bubble pops into a burst of water. But, Mera tumble dodges it.
Ten Atlanteans turn into puddles. Three Atlanteans are pulled into Siren's whirlpools and vanish.
Superman and Wonder Woman warn, "Black Manta, Siren... Stand down."
Black Manta declares, "I won't rest until I wipe out all Atlant...!"
He simultaneously fires electrified harpoons at Aquaman and Mera before they can react.
But... Batman sets off Black Manta's aim by tackling him.
Superman and Wonder Woman punch some of Black Manta's henchmen hard. But, they surprisingly shrug it off.
Wonder Woman uses her golden lasso to get off one of these henchmen's helmets: Revealing a demon with a piranha like head and with shark teeth like spikes across its dark red arms.
Superman looks wide eyed in shock.
Wonder Woman grimly realizes, "Hades...and Persephone. I have to stop them!"
The other henchmen that came with Black Manta impatiently tear off their own helmets. All these henchmen turn out to be demons just like the unmasked one.
Wonder Woman jump dives down into Atlantis itself...going after Hades and Persephone.
Persephone has her vine arms stirring up a god swirl of darkness and shrieks. It's growing into a cosmic doorway to Tartarus. Hades is using his god powers to try to sculpt, in the god swirl, a god daughter.
With a cold glare... Siren mutters to Mera, "Hades promised me to bring back destroyed Atlanteans for my kingdom. Go back with your pathetic whiny friends, sister!"
Her watercolor hair turns purple. She and Mera angrily charge for each other. They fire water made water balloon blasts at each other.
In goddess minutes, high in the sky above...
With a glare... Athena calls out, "Poseidon! Get away from Atlantis."
Athena is hovering in the clear blue sky. Poseidon appears in front of her.
With a frown... Poseidon mutters, "you really think you can stop me from ruling my kingdom?"
Athena angrily mutters, "when I destroy you... Your rule of Atlantis will be over!"
Poseidon murmurs, "that is sad. Laugh. You can still try." Athena adds, "oh, I intend to."
Athena fires goddess javelins of gold at Poseidon. He fires god tentacles with flames at her.
In mortal minutes, back on Atlantis...
Aquaman calls out, "Orm! This isn't like you. We're like brothers. We grew up together. You know deep down you care about Atlanteans!"
Ocean Master groans hard. He clutches his head.
In his head... Hades tells him, "lies! He's in the way. Black Manta as your leader will give you power."
Hades's demon henchmen angrily charge after Wonder Woman.
But... Superman super spins like a whirlwind to hurl them one by one into the air.
Hades's demon henchmen shriek. They fly charge for Superman.
Ocean Master reasons out loud, "I may like power, Hades. But, you should know by now: No one tells me what to do!"
His watercolor hair turns blond. He slashes his trident angrily at Aquaman.
Aquaman is using his trident to block his.
Wonder Woman calls out, "hey Hades! No doomsday doors."
She gets her golden lasso around the sculpted center of the god swirl.
She struggles to pull in the god swirl. Hades and Persephone struggle to keep it in place.
The god swirl explodes in a cosmic burst. Wonder Woman, Hades, and Persephone are flung up high.
Hades and Persephone angrily cry out, "no! !"
Persephone and Hades crash hard into several demon henchmen. They're all falling unconscious.
Hades at the last god second makes a god portal to get them and his other demon henchmen back to Tartarus. Wonder Woman is in the waters, swimming back to Atlantis.
Batman and Black Manta are exchanging fists. They're slashing at each other with wrist blades.
Aquaman somewhat nervously concludes to Ocean Master, "Hades is mind controlling you? No wonder you're acting like you don't know your own people."
Black Manta suddenly kicks Batman hard. Batman groans hard on his side.
Black Manta uncomfortably goes, "wait. There... There's no gold on this island: It's all with Poseidon. I... I knew that!"
Ocean Master murmurs in confusion to Aquaman, "why...? Why can't I remember you or...?!"
Aquaman calls out, "Mera! Please help with filling back in his memory."
With a smile... Mera says, "gladly."
She jump kicks Siren hard by surprise. Siren falls unconscious.
Mera fires a mystically glowing blue whirlwind around Ocean Master's head.
Ocean Master groans hard. Wonder Woman, by then, gets back on to Atlantis.
Aquaman asks in concern, "how are you feeling now Orm?"
With mixed feelings... Ocean Master recollects, "I...I remember everything. Black Manta made a deal with Hades to make me forget: To manipulate me to think that Black Manta rescued me from drowning and that I was his friend. Come on Orin: Let's settle our differences to stop Black Manta!"
Aquaman lightly adds, "agreed!"
He, Ocean Master, Wonder Woman, Mera, Superman, and Batman smile some.
Trying to sound confident... Black Manta addresses, "Atlanteans... Do you really want a sad pitiful god as your leader...or do you want a carefree pirate's life getting gold for me?"
He dramatically gestures up with both arms toward the Atlanteans and Nereid.
Ocean Master coldly mutters, "not on your life." Aquaman lightly remarks to Black Manta, "we're going for the gold: Kicking your butt!"
They both punch Black Manta hard at the same time...knocking him out.
Mera and Batman chuckle at that. Batman, by then, has gotten back up.
Wonder Woman concludes, "we've saved the island and the world from Hades. So... How do we quickly save the Atlanteans from Poseidon before he comes back?"
Ocean Master wonders, "let me rule Atlantis?" Aquman kind of lightly says, "um... Laugh. No Orm. But, we'll fight about it another day."
Ocean Master sighs annoyedly. Superman, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman chuckle some.
With a smile... Aquaman addresses, "I have a idea. Fellow Atlanteans, Nereid... If you want more carefree lives with rock concerts and fun swims? Show of hands in the water."
Most Atlanteans and some Nereid somewhat nervously put their hands into Atlantis itself. Bursts of blue spirit energy come out from their hands in a circle.
Aquaman and Mera telepathically tell many Atlantean dolphins, sharks, seahorses, and so on to reach for Atlantis for happier lives. They reach out to Atlantis.
And... Bright blue glass like domes, yellow aqueducts, and coral reef hills appear across Atlantis.
Atlanteans and Atlantean animals smile and dance in newfound joy at the New Atlantis. Mera, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman smile wide.
Aquaman, with a watercolor microphone, is singing the song That Power by Will I Am and Justin B.
Aquaman and Mera dance together. Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman lightly dance by themselves.
Poseidon looks stunned at New Atlantis.
Poseidon starts to ask, "what the...?"
With a smirk... Athena reveals, "today wasn't about winning or losing a fight with you. I wanted to keep you busy until Aquaman and Mera gave Atlanteans a chance to follow their hearts and not you."
Poseidon reluctantly admits, "it saddens me to say. But... Moderate sigh. Well played Athena."
He, Amphitrite, and most of the other Nereid leave Atlantis. Athena waves goodbye to them.
And... Athena smirks wide toward New Atlantis in a knowing way.
