Seasons of Wonder: A Wonder Woman Fanfiction Story

Gorilla Night:

One day, within the Congo Basin in Africa...

A gorilla with goldish gray battle wear and a matching helmet is swinging fast on some jungle vines.

A metallic treehouse with a big blue G symbol on it is above him.

Several metal cages with rockets are fly charging for him with open cage doors.

The gorilla swing jumps off of a vine. He lands on top of one of the flying cages.

A voice calls out, "you can run Armowi. But, you can't keep this up long from me!"

A second flying cage is closing in on the gorilla Armowi.

Armowi side tumbles out of the way.

The two flying cages crash into each other. Their rockets explode.

The explosions turn the two flying cages into falling metal rods.

Armowi flip jumps over a third flying cage. He is breathing hard.

He breaks into a run across a metallic bridge with bars around it.

He is on a level high up in Gorilla City. Plenty of tall Congo Basin trees are around.

Many metallic bridges, metallic treehouses, and peeled banana styled security cameras go across the upper levels of this city. Rainforest cropfields, storage caves, and several lakes are on the ground level.

Armowi gets to a metallic treehouse. He climbs up to the top of it.

But... Gorilla Grodd and his loyal Gorilla Knights suddenly appear in all directions.

They're riding on flying cages. All controlled by a remote control in Gorilla Grodd's hand.

The Gorilla Knights don't wear helmets. They however do wear goldish gray battle wear.

They aim their dark blue spirit energy arrows for Armowi.

Armowi gulps nervously. But, he stands there like it's nothing.

Gorilla Grodd mutters coldly, "you can't protect your thoughts from me now, Armowi. We have triangulated on the neural microchip in your pathetic knock-off helmet."

Armowi heavily sighs.

He reasons, "very well. I might as well tell you. Just don't tell on me to them."

With a dark smirk... Gorilla Grodd suggests, "well, that would be easier on me. Tell me all about your resistance movement, and I might spare you."

Armowi shakily nods.

He starts to tell, "we're Solovar's Resistance. He may be gone. But..."

At the same time... He is backing up toward the edge of the treehouse.

Armowi calls out, "you can't stop us all!"

Before anyone can stop him... He backs all the way off the roof...falling fast.

He falls unconscious on the ground below.

Gorilla Grodd howls in anger with his arms up.

Gorilla Grodd realizes, "we won't get answers out of him anytime soon. Find them! Find them all! !"

The Gorilla Knights by him respond, "yes, King Gorilla Grodd."

Most of them gulp nervously.

In the clouds...

A set of flashes with silhouettes fly by: Of Gorilla Grodd having a group of gorillas called the Simian Scarlet sneak attack Solovar during a Gorilla City festival to destroy him, of the Simian Scarlet chasing away most of Solovar's family...and of Gorilla Grodd becoming the new king.

Another set of flashes with silhouettes fly by: Of the god Hermes sitting all alone one day, of Hermes giving some gorillas higher intelligence in the hopes of getting himself more play dates, of the gorillas soon getting bored with Hermes's games of catch and tag, of a disappointed Hermes flying away...and of those gorillas setting some land aside in the Congo Basin to create their city Gorilla City.

On the ground, not far from Gorilla City...

Diana as Wonder Woman has out a mostly red umbrella with blue stripes. She and Donna Troy are standing under it. They're standing by a big waterhole in a rainforest in the Congo Basin.

It's raining quite a bit. Groups of elephants are drinking water from the waterhole.

Donna Troy figures, "why do we have to wait to ask them where Doris Zuel is, Diana? We can both talk to animals. I'm sure if we ask them nicely..."

With a faint smile... Wonder Woman explains, "we all need water to survive. They're quite protective of their water and they usually get water in groups. Unless we can find the Lion King around here? I think we'll just have to wait for one of them to finish."

What she and Donna Troy don't notice is Doris Zuel sneaking past a group of elephants.

She fast walks through a cloaking field. A cloaking field that briefly ripples around Gorilla City.

Donna Troy somewhat nervously considers, "hmm. I understand. But..."

Wonder Woman asks in concern, "what's wrong, Donna?"

She puts a comforting hand on hers.

Donna Troy reveals, "the rain...reminds me too much of the lifetimes I was trapped in in the Anti-Monitor fortress."

Donna Troy gets teary eyed. Wonder Woman makes a nervous face.

Wonder Woman kind of lightly suggests, "ohh. Well... We can talk about something lighter. It could help you not think about the rain."

Donna Troy adds, "thank you. I'd like that." Wonder Woman adds, "you're welcome."

They both smile some. The teariness in Donna Troy's eyes starts to dry up.

Wonder Woman questions, "what shows or movies have you been watching lately?"

Donna Troy concludes, "Circe of Nemesises. I think it's great so far. It's a thriller spy show starring a secret government agent codenamed Nemesis who fights super powered criminals."

Wonder Woman awkwardly says, "umm... Sorry to burst your bubble. But, Amanda Waller funds it."

Donna Troy very awkwardly smiles.

She tries to assure, "well... Aside from evil gods like Ares... Most of your nemesises have turned out to have at least some good within. Maybe this TV show is Amanda Waller's way of secretly admitting she is changing for the greater good: Ours."

Wonder Woman chuckles some.

She reasons, "well... I'll believe it if she tells me that to my face." Donna Troy reasons, "fair enough."

Wonder Woman points out, "I think I now see a few groups of elephants just finishing up. Let's go ask them if they've seen Doris Zuel."

Donna Troy figures, "sounds good. And Circe hasn't been wrong about Doris Zuel before. So... She's not going to be missing for long. We'll find her."

Wonder Woman and Donna Troy smile some.

They go over to a group of elephants to start asking the elephants if they've seen Doris Zuel around.

A half hour or so later, in a treehouse in Gorilla City...

Solovar's Resistance is having a secret meeting in a kitchen area. Security cameras around this treehouse have timed fake footage to keep the secret meeting secret from Gorilla Grodd.

Their leader is Nnamdi. The other members are double agent Gorilla Knights loyal to him.

With mixed feelings... A member of Solovar's Resistance reports, "Armowi was destroyed...likely before Gorilla Grodd fully read his thoughts. Or, we wouldn't still be here."

The leader of Solovar's Resistance starts to glare. His name is Nnamdi.

Nnamdi thinks out loud, "oh ****. We sent in several scouts without trouble. When they each got caught by Gorilla Grodd? They had a thought responsive neural microchip that wiped the past 24 hours from their brain to avoid letting him know of our plans. We found out one time from hair samples on a scout that Gorilla Grodd uses flying traps. And yet he still found a way to deactivate our microchips! !"

He slams his fists hard on the kitchen counter.

Nnamdi says, "what are we supposed to do now?"

A member of Solovar's Resistance somewhat nervously brings up, "well... Make a little spin off city?"

Nnamdi tensely replies, "and risk more of us cornered?! Heavy sigh. I understand you're trying to help. But... My father Solovar was destroyed by that big **** Gorilla Grodd, and I don't want us to be next."

Several members of Solovar's Resistance gulp nervously.

Another member of Solovar's Resistance wonders, "so... What else can we do?"

Suddenly... Doris Zuel walks into the treehouse.

Doris Zuel kind of lightly suggests, "chase the terrible gorillas back to their caves and make them stay there until they learn their lesson."

Nnamdi asks in disbelief, "what?"

With a faint smile... Doris Zuel reflects, "I'm sorry. I don't know much about this Gorilla Grodd. But... If anyone can teach him manners? It's me."

Most of Solovar's Resistance laughs. Nnamdi just annoyedly rolls his eyes.

With a warning glare... Doris Zuel asks, "what?"

Nnamdi reluctantly admits, "you can teach Gorilla Grodd to be kind? That's kind of funny."

He continues, "my rightful place is to be king of Gorilla City. My father king Solovar was destroyed because of that big **** Gorilla Grodd. With my rule? I'd be sure to bring peace back to Gorilla City."

Doris Zuel tries to assure, "I want peace for your people too. I like just about all animals. I'd come with or without a god favor asked of me. My name is Doris Zuel. But, you can call me Giganta."

Most of Solovar's Resistance looks somewhat amused toward her.

Nnamdi kind of lightly argues, "a good sentiment. But, you are only a human woman. How could...?"

Suddenly... Doris Zuel starts to grow giant sized.

She quickly swings herself out of a window of the treehouse.

In mortal seconds... She is lying on the back of the giant tree that is holding up the treehouse.

She as Giganta turns some to look back at Solovar's Resistance.

With a smile... Giganta kind of lightly remarks, "is this "little" demonstration good enough for you? I used to get big headaches from this. But, Aphrodite took the side effect away."

Solovar's Resistance, including Nnamdi, looks wide eyed in shock.

After a bit... Giganta starts to shrink back down to normal size.

She as Doris Zuel swings off a tree branch to tumble land back into the treehouse.

Stunned sounding... Nnamdi points out, "you...have so much power. You could stomp over whole cities. You could be a evil queen over humans. And yet... You want to save our city?"

Doris Zuel chuckles.

Doris Zuel points out, "yes. Not all humans are bad. When I discovered zoos can get neglectful? I freed all the animals from a zoo in Georgia. Several animals, by choice, even became my animal companions that day. I think all animals should be free and happy. I changed from a zoo veterinarian to a animal activist under a different name. I really wanted to bring my animal companions here. But, with this city's advanced cloaking shield? That would confuse most any animal. My animal companions would need assurance to cross safely to the other side, and I'd want to be sure of that myself first."

A third member of Solovar's Resistance whispers, "is she a vegetarian like gorillas too, or...?"

The second member of Solovar's Resistance whispers, "right now? Who cares?! We need her help."

With a smile... Nnamdi figures, "all right. We'll storm Gorilla Grodd's treehouse. But, you go first."

Doris Zuel lightly shrugs.

She figures, "that's all right. Still sounds good to me."

Nnamdi figures, "good. We could use you in the coming fight tonight against Gorilla Grodd. Welcome to Solovar's Resistance, Doris Zuel."

They shake hands on it. Everyone in the treehouse smiles wide at this.

That night...

Doris Zuel starts to grow giant sized...right by Gorilla Grodd's treehouse.

Doris Zuel as Giganta starts to tear its metal roof off. The whole treehouse starts to shake.

Inside... Gorilla Grodd is sitting on a spirit energy silver made throne on a metal platform.

A Gorilla Knight asks, "Gorilla Grodd... Should we launch a missile?"

There are three story tall metal ladders leading up to his throne. Gorilla Knights and flying cages are around him. Antennas are all over the walls and the first floor. Several trapdoors are in the floor.

With a cruel smirk... Gorilla Grodd insists, "no. This circus act is not much threat to me."

He presses another button on his remote control.

The whole treehouse is electrified through the antennas. A near blackish red spirit energy shield reactively goes up around Gorilla Grodd's platform.

Giganta groans hard from the electricity around the treehouse.

After a bit... Her giant mass shakes off the electricity like it wasn't there.

With a faint smirk... Giganta calls out, "okay Grodd! If that's how you want to play... Let's do this."

Gorilla Grodd presses a button on his remote control. The electricity dissipates inside the treehouse.

Giganta is about to smash her giant fist into Gorilla Grodd's throne.

But... Gorilla Grodd telepathically supposes, "is that really necessary, Doris Zuel? You don't want to fight. You just want to free animals. Join me, and we can free them all from the pathetic humans. The humans deserve to be wiped out. But, you don't have to be next."

In near disbelief... Giganta cries out, "how are you...?! Ares never told me you could read minds! !"

All too lightly... Gorilla Grodd reasons, "I'm not surprised. He is the god of battles. One last chance, Doris. Will you join me or not?"

With a heated glare... Giganta points out, "I dream of peace between humans and animals. You destroy anyone that disagrees with you: Including Solovar. I'll never join you! !"

She grabs Gorilla Grodd with a giant hand.

Gorilla Grodd concludes, "a pity. Now you will regret defying me."

He mind controls Giganta to let him go.

Just as fast... Gorilla Grodd mind controls her into punching herself with both hands.

And... She crash lands hard into the ground.

She coughs hard. Her vision starts to get blurry. She struggles to stay conscious.

Wonder Woman and Donna Troy rush over to Giganta. They have both just now arrived.

Wonder Woman calls out worriedly, "Doris! ! Oh gods. What...?!"

All three of them are teary eyed.

Giganta divulges, "Diana... Mind control... Hard cough! Don't let... Hard cough! ...him win."

She shakily points up to the treehouse with a giant arm.

Wonder Woman tells her, "we won't."

Giganta faintly smiles. She is falling unconscious.

Donna Troy calls out, "come on! We got to get up there fast."

She's already running up a giant arm of Giganta.

Wonder Woman shakily nods. She takes a deep breath.

She uses her golden lasso to swing jump up and over the giant arm.

Donna Troy run jumps into Gorilla Grodd's treehouse.

And... She, in midair, hard kicks a surprised Gorilla Grodd off his throne.

Gorilla Grodd falls to the floor dazed. He groans hard.

Donna Troy and Wonder Woman tumble land onto the platform.

Wonder Woman figures, "damn. I wanted to get him. But, good work." Donna Troy adds, "thanks."

They both smile some.

Gorilla Grodd angrily cries out, "no Amazon or human makes a fool of me! !"

Wonder Woman snarkily comments, "yeah. I think we just have."

Meanwhile... Solovar's Resistance have stormed the treehouse.

They're slashing very dark blue spirit energy blades at the Gorilla Knights loyal to Gorilla Grodd. They're slashing back at them with very dark red spirit energy blades.

Gorilla Grodd tries to mind control Donna Troy and Wonder Woman.

But... In golden glows... Both of their golden lassoes shields them from it.

Wonder Woman pulls in Gorilla Grodd with her golden lasso.

And... She knocks him out.

Then... Wonder Woman and Donna Troy both notice a Gorilla Knight flying out of the treehouse.

It turns out to be Ares...somewhat slowly god transforming back into his original form as he does.

Solovar's Resistance and the Gorilla Knights are still fighting. They're evenly matched.

Donna Troy somewhat nervously considers, "okay. I know you're still worried about Doris. So... Heavy sigh. I'll keep her safe. You go ahead and stop whatever Ares is really up to."

She puts a comforting hand on Wonder Woman's.

Wonder Woman solemnly tells her, "thank you...my spiritual twin."

They both smile some to each other.

Donna Troy goes to check on Giganta. Wonder Woman takes a nearby silvery hover-bike to trail Ares.

Ares flies into a cave. A cave with a retinal scan scanner.

After getting inside the cave? Ares fully god transforms back to his original form.

Wonder Woman lands the hover-bike by the cave.

A metal wall starts to come down in front of her. She quickly props the hover-bike in the way of it.

Wonder Woman tumble dives under the propped up metal wall.

Wonder Woman gets up. She breaks into a run.

The metal wall comes down all the way. The hover-bike explodes in fire under it.

There's a control room with dark blue to light blue walls. There are tree styled control terminals that are mostly green with red buttons. A wide screen monitor is on a wall.

Ares is standing in this room.

He is in very dark blue medieval battle wear. He has a matching god blade drawn out and ready.

Wonder Woman heatedly glares at Ares. She is pulling out her dark blue spirit energy blade.

Wonder Woman angrily calls out, "Ares! ! It's long past time you pay for your crimes against the Amazons and my friends. Doris Zuel was misled by you here! Wasn't she? Wasn't she?! !"

All too lightly... Ares divulges, "please. I may have orchestrated the battle. But, Solovar's Resistance and Doris wanted to overthrow Gorilla Grodd anyway with or without me. Besides... Laugh. I don't care if he wins or falls. I just wanted a big distraction for a bigger game."

The control room monitor is cycling through security camera footage across every level of Gorilla City.

Among the security footage... Several huge missiles disguised as tall trees are seen being launched.

They're heading for different city targets with destinations shown on the monitor.

Wonder Woman realizes, "you've launched their missiles for America and China."

Ares continues, "yes. No government in this universe knows about Gorilla City and its special cloaking field. With the huge rivalry between America and China? They'll be quick to blame the other side. The unmarked missiles will ignite a glorious worldwide battle. Even you can't stop all these missiles. Face it, Wonder Woman. You've failed to protect peace."

Wonder Woman determinedly says, "no! ! I will stop you."

Ares cruelly laughs. He adds, "you can try."

Wonder Woman angrily charges for Ares.

They're slashing their blades at each other. Spirit energy sparks fly.

Wonder Woman turns Ares's arm some to try to knock the god blade out of his hand.

But... Ares side flip kicks Wonder Woman hard.

Wonder Woman coughs hard some. She tumble lands back onto her feet.

Ares is about to use his other hand to grab Wonder Woman by the throat.

But... Wonder Woman side flip kicks him hard in the air.

Ares crashes hard into a control console. A surge of electricity runs through him.

He is quickly god restoring himself. But, he is dazed.

Wonder Woman breathes a quick sigh of relief.

She figures, "I only have one shot at this. I better make it count."

She is quickly pressing a bunch of buttons on another control console.

After a bit... Ares surprise slashes at Wonder Woman with his god blade.

Wonder Woman groans hard. She is reactively clutching her side.

Some melting clay drips from her side.

Ares sickly concludes, "as I said... There is no way to stop all my missiles. I'm going to enjoy you begging for peace, Wonder Woman."

He grabs Wonder Woman by the throat.

But... Wonder Woman laughs at him.

With a annoyed look... Ares tensely asks, "what's so funny?"

With a smirk... Wonder Woman confidently says, "look again, Ares. You think you won. But... Hard groan. Even if you destroy me now? I'll still have stopped you."

Ares looks at the screen.

He looks wide eyed in shock. He unintentionally lets go of Wonder Woman.

He sees missiles coming for the tree like missiles overseas...from America and China.

With help from a control console? Wonder Woman has sent a anonymous e-mail to Cadmus and China's Ministry of State Security warning them about the missiles coming from Gorilla City.

Cadmus and China's Ministry of State Security sent missiles in time to counteract the tree like missiles.

Ares cries out angrily with his arms up.

With a god thought? He destroys all the missiles in bursts of fire.

He disappears.

As he does... He angrily cries out, "you will pay for this one day, Wonder Woman! !"

Wonder Woman continues to smirk. She heads back through the left open cave entrance.

Suddenly... A now conscious Gorilla Grodd coldly tells, "we were just about to come looking for you."

Gorilla Knights, Solovar's Resistance, and Gorilla Grodd are all tiredly standing outside.

Wonder Woman walks out of the cave to face them.

Giganta as Doris Zuel turns out to now be conscious. She and Donna Troy are there too.

Wonder Woman brings up, "well, you're not going to turn us into your mind controlled pets. I just saved the world from Ares. Trust me on this: It was better than the alternative for humans and gorillas."

Gorilla Grodd coldly comments, "nice try Diana. But, just because I can't mind control you because of that stupid glowing rope doesn't mean I can't see through your lie."

With a somewhat tense glare... Wonder Woman pinpoints, "look! Do you want me and Donna to beat you again, or should we just call it a draw?"

Gorilla Grodd and some of the Gorilla Knights frustratedly sigh. Nnamdi and Donna Troy laugh some.

With a smile... Doris Zuel suggests, "I have a better idea. Heads or tails with me giant sized, and him tied up on his..."

Wonder Woman and Donna Troy try hard not to laugh. They're both smiling wide.

Wonder Woman concludes, "that's tempting. But, it's been a long night. We'll fight him another day."

Doris murmurs, "aw. No fun "mom"."

With a annoyed tone... Wonder Woman figures, "hey! I'm not like my mother. I just care about everyone except Grodd."

Doris Zuel adds, "well, now I feel a little better. Thank you." Wonder Woman adds, "you're welcome."

Gorilla Grodd concludes, "a draw it is. While we're on the subject... I see now the fighting among my Gorilla Knights was orchestrated by Ares. And until they can prove themselves worthy again of living in Gorilla City? Solovar's Resistance and the Gorilla Knights are banished. Meanwhile? I'll put together another force of Gorilla Knights: In case they can't make the cut."

Solovar's Resistance and the Gorilla Knights heatedly glare at him. But, they don't say anything.

Not long after, in another part of the Congo Basin...

Solovar's Resistance and the Gorilla Knights are walking alongside Wonder Woman, Doris Zuel, and Donna Troy. They all look somewhat nervous and a little teary eyed.

Nnamdi bitterly reflects, "well... This whole night went to ****."

A Gorilla Knight points out, "yeah. He banished all of us! Even I'm starting to hate him."

With mixed feelings... Doris Zuel reflects, "we're on the same side on that. Now where are the Gorilla Knights going to go?"

Wonder Woman lightly suggests, "well Doris... With you very likely on good terms with Aphrodite? I have a idea."

Most everyone smiles at that. The teariness in all of their eyes starts to dry up.

From high in the sky above them?

Aphrodite smiles wide toward Doris Zuel and Wonder Woman in a knowing way. Doris Zuel turned to Aphrodite for help in finding a new path before Ares came to Doris Zuel with a deal.

A set of flashes with silhouettes fly by: Of Doris Zuel on a paradise island floating over the Elysian Fields...laughing and playing with her animal companions and the reunited Gorilla Knights.
