Seasons of Wonder: A Wonder Woman Fanfiction Story

Planet of the Lapith:

Disclaimer: This is not a reboot episode. The reality warp in this episode is a temporary one.

One day, out in space...

Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman are on a mostly silvery and Bat Eyes styled spaceship. Batman has set the spaceship on autopilot on a course to Earth. They're all sitting in the cockpit.

Batman and Superman may be in their battlesuits. But, their helmets aren't currently on.

Wonder Woman lightly considers, "well, that was a easy mission."

Superman brings up, "you call that easy? Two really powerful alien races were about to let their battle with each other wipe out the galaxy. Don't get me wrong: I'm proud of you Diana. But, I wasn't sure any of us could stop them. You found a way."

Wonder Woman says, "why thank you, Clark." Superman says, "you're welcome."

All three of them smile to each other.

Batman recollects, "you made it easy, Diana. You beat the Khund emperor in fair combat for your solution for peace talks between the Ichor and the Khund to be heard in the Khund empire. Well... You made most of it easy. Faint chuckle. Me and Superman were stuck fighting some angry Green Lanterns who wanted to wipe out the Khund civilization."

With mixed feelings... Wonder Woman explains, "well... Heavy sigh. The Khund made a lot of enemies in the past. Their culture prides itself on their battles and anger. I just helped the Khund realize fighting evil is a more fulfilling path than fighting good."

Batman assures, "oh, you did more than that and you know it. You, Harbinger, and all the other heroes in the League of Wonder Women were instrumental in stopping Chaos from destroying all of reality. You're all considered legends across the galaxy."

Wonder Woman remarks, "aw. If I didn't know better, Bruce? I'd say you were flirting with me."

Batman awkwardly goes, "well, um..."

Batman blushes a little. Wonder Woman and Superman try hard not to laugh.

Superman is quick to say, "well... We hope the Khund empire keeps their promise to do good and not evil from now on. If they do? It's another legendary act by you, Diana."

Wonder Woman adds, "aw. Thank you, Clark." Superman adds, "you're welcome."

All three of them smile.

Batman considers, "the Ichor gave the Khund a year until final judgment. All we can do now is wait and...see."

Suddenly... Through the cockpit windows... They all see a Earth like planet with no oceans.

This planet has lakes and trees and deserts. But, it has no oceans.

Wonder Woman somewhat nervously asks, "where are we?"

Superman somewhat nervously checks, "Bruce? Did the autopilot take a wrong turn on our course back to our Earth?"

Batman looks over a screen in the cockpit. It has scanner readings of the Earth like planet.

Batman somewhat nervously explains, "no. I... It's supposed to be our Earth. From the complete change in terrain? I'd say there was a reality warp in recent hours. And there's something...troubling about it."

Almost at the same time... Superman and Wonder Woman ask, "what is it?"

Batman nervously gulps.

Batman reasons, "our scanners are not detecting humans. So far? I'm only finding mortal hybrids including Lapith."

Wonder Woman says, "oh gods. We... Moderate sigh. We got to reverse this reality warp and soon." Superman says, "agreed."

Batman thinks out loud, "I'll go through historical records from my database onboard. See if... Damn. From just glimpsing through them? There have been a lot of changes to the timeline. It could take days to sort through it all."

Superman and Wonder Woman heavily sigh.

Wonder Woman suggests, "what if you narrow down the search to the island of Themiscrya? On this alternate Earth... My mother Hippolyta could be leading a different kind of Amazon nation."

Batman figures, "all right. It's worth a try."

Batman narrows down the search in historical records to Themiscrya.

After a bit... They all look nervous toward the search results.

Wonder Woman grimly realizes, "Hippolyta... Hard sniffle. Hippolyta was destroyed by Zeus and Hera on this Earth as a warning...to her tribe."

She and Superman get teary eyed.

Stunned sounding... Batman and Superman ask, "what?"

Wonder Woman very much implies, "I know. Hard sniffle. It's a shock to me too. And... That's not all."

In the clouds...

A set of flashes with silhouettes fly by: Of Circe appearing in the sky in ancient times with a outstretched hand toward Amazons and Gargarei, of three circles spiraling out of the two tribes, of a circle led by Hippoltya destroying the other two circles, of a reality warp hole over that circle, of Greece and a rising Rome sinking like quicksand within the reality warp hole...and the cries of many humans heard from within the reality warp hole.

In the middle of a desert...

Spider-fly Lapith are firing super thick webs at vulture-eagle Lapith. Most of the vulture-eagle hybrids struggle to break free of the webs. Several bipedal Lapith are ducking for cover in caves.

Around then, in another spot in this desert...

Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are standing in front of a abandoned temple. Cobwebs and little spiders are plenty around the entrances.

Superman checks, "Bruce... Are you sure this is where the Amazons are? This place doesn't look anything welcoming."

Batman points out, "we both flew around the Earth to scan for life signs of Amazons. This is the only lead we have."

Superman considers, "fine. I just hope this isn't a trap. We don't know on this Earth what the gods and goddesses are like." Batman adds, "fair enough."

Wonder Woman confidently figures, "well, since I've had a lot of experience in stopping evil gods... I'm going in first. Try to keep up with me, guys."

Superman faintly laughs. He sarcastically adds, "very funny."

Wonder Woman lightly figures, "I sure thought it was."

Batman laughs some. Superman annoyedly rolls his eyes.

Wonder Woman walks ahead of Batman and Superman. They soon walk in her direction.

The only things in the temple are fallen pictures of Apollo and two underground passages. Wonder Woman heads down the leftmost passage.

After a bit... She hears sickeningly gurgling gobbles.

Wonder Woman starts to say, "what the...?!"

Several beaked worms charge for her.

Wonder Woman kind of easily slashes at them with her darkish blue spirit energy blade.

But... More beaked worms are coming.

Superman calls out, "Diana! Are you okay?"

He and Batman use searchlights built into their battlesuits to search for Wonder Woman. Light shines down the underground passage.

Wonder Woman starts to say, "I think so. But, more are..."

Superman and Batman find Wonder Woman...and several large worm-turkey Lapith.

The worm-turkey Lapith have beaked worm heads, long worm necks, and crowns of beaked worms instead of feathers. Their claws are like octopus tentacles with beaks.

Batman murmurs, "oh...my god." Wonder Woman mutters, "oh damn."

Batman is grabbed by a worm-turkey Lapith's claw-tentacles.

He makes his searchlight blindingly bright toward it. The worm-turkey Lapith reactively shields its eyes with its claw-tentacles and its crown of beaked worms.

Batman slips free of its grip.

Superman is wrestling with two worm-turkey Lapith's crowns of beaked worms. He struggles to hold all their beaked worm heads off.

Wonder Woman tumble dives by a worm-turkey Lapith's claw-tentacles. She just as fast gets her golden lasso around the worm-turkey Lapith's crown of beaked worms.

Batman uses the jetpack built into his battlesuit to fly dodge several beaked worm heads.

And... It turns out he purposely got all its worm necks tangled up from its tries to peck at him.

The worm-turkey Lapith passes out in confusion before it can fully untangle its heads.

Superman and Wonder Woman take down three worm-turkey Lapith. The other two worm-turkey Lapith fly away in fear to a branching off cave.

A familiar voice admits, "I was a little worried one of our young ones ran off toward the worm-turkeys again. But... Chuckle. This is a great surprise to see you."

Wonder Woman realizes, "Queen Antiope?! By the gods... It's great to see you too."

She and Queen Antiope smile to each other. Several Amazons are by Queen Antiope.

Wonder Woman and Queen Antiope hug each other close.

Queen Antiope and her Amazons look like they've just walked through a sand dune. They're wearing sanded down battle wear. Sand is all over their faces and hair.

Queen Antiope kind of awkwardly admits, "I...don't know what your name is. But, it's been years since we saw more Amazons. And, less and less water comes year to year."

Wonder Woman pulls away some.

She and Superman make really awkward faces. Queen Antiope and Batman look nervous.

Wonder Woman faintly smiles.

She tries to assure, "well Antiope... If my plan succeeds? No one has to worry about not having enough water. And call me Diana."

Everyone smiles at that.

Not long after, in a cave under a certain temple...

Queen Antiope is sitting on a rock carved throne. Some Amazon guards are around. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are sitting in front of Queen Antiope's throne. Superman and Batman right now don't have their helmets on.

Off in the distance... Some Amazon children and their Amazon parents are quietly playing in a underground pool of water that is two feet tall.

Queen Antiope moderately sighs.

She realizes, "so... That meeting many years ago with Circe should never have happened. Hard sniffle. I had no idea this could lead to my sister being destroyed and...and all of...! !"

She starts to breaks down crying.

A Amazon guard finishes the thought, "we all lost so many people in this world we cared for."

She puts a sympathetic hand on Queen Antiope's.

Everyone gets teary eyed.

Wonder Woman solemnly says, "I'm really sorry for your losses. Hard sniffle. We'll do what we can to bring back them all."

Queen Antiope shakily asks, "how?"

Superman tries to assure, "if it helps... From what we know of the goddess Circe... She has never made a mess that couldn't be stopped in time."

Queen Antiope somberly adds, "hundreds of years late for us."

Before anyone else can say something?

Queen Antiope apologizes, "sorry. I just... Heavy sigh. I'm so used to not believing in hope. Athena and Apollo left this world to find another after not having anyone to listen to their advice. Hard sniffle. Do you really think you can convince Circe to save the world from this hell life?"

Almost at the same time... Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman say yes.

Queen Antiope faintly smiles.

She concludes, "well... If anyone knows where all the gods and goddesses are? It's the goddess Poison Ivy. She has her own kingdom called Ivyland. Up in the northwest corner of the world. My Amazon nation is in no shape to face her. But... Very faint chuckle. You and your two friends might have better chances, Diana."

Batman sarcastically mutters, "as if facing her was enough trouble without goddess powers."

Superman and Wonder Woman make awkward faces.

They both insist that the three of them will still go talk to Poison Ivy.

Queen Antiope figures, "thank you very much for at least trying. That's what... Hard sniffle. What my sister Hippolyta would say if she were here now."

Tears fall from her face. She finds it hard to look up.

Wonder Woman walks over to Queen Antiope.

Wonder Woman checks, "Antiope... You sure you're okay with this?"

Queen Antiope moderately sighs.

She looks up.

With mixed feelings... Queen Antiope reflects, "Diana... I've spent too many years thinking about who was lost from this world to doubt a sign of hope from the gods. Do whatever you got to do to save the world. I just want to skip to that part."

Wonder Woman puts a comforting hand on hers.

Wonder Woman mostly assures, "we will do our best. Truth is we all want a better world back."

Everyone solemnly smiles. The teariness in everyone's eyes starts to slowly but surely dry up.

A half hour later...

Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are walking into Ivyland. The batplane is not far away.

There are two giant trees. Each one has a sign that says "Ivyland" in gold rimmed green letters.

There are goldish rimmed yellow lion-sunflower hybrids, green and white polka dotted and giant vine-snake Lapith, brown and orange striped bear-tiger Lapith, mystically glowing green and red crystal formations, giant bees, and flowers of all colors and sizes. Growls buzzes, and hisses are heard. There are plenty of large to giant trees with orange, yellow, green, and brown spirals.

Stunned sounding... Wonder Woman says, "wow. It's amazing and terrifying how well kept this garden kingdom is."

Superman whispers, "I know I've faced worse before. But, those bees are giving me the creeps."

Wonder Woman and Batman try hard not to laugh.

Suddenly... Several giant vine-snake Lapith slither out of the ground.

They hiss. They're about ready to fight Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman.

But... Wonder Woman is quick to hiss to the vine-snake Lapith.

They stand down in response. But, they give wary looks.

Goddess Poison Ivy has just appeared by the vine-snake Lapith. She smiles wide.

Goddess Poison Ivy is glowing very dark green. Her goddess body is made up of constantly shifting goddess vines. Her goddess nails are red and white thorns.

Goddess Poison Ivy comments, "not many could calm down my babies. I'm impressed."

Wonder Woman somewhat nervously says, "thank you. I'm Diana."

Goddess Poison Ivy brings up, "I'm the Goddess Poison Ivy. I was chosen by Demeter to look after her goddess duties after she couldn't take being a goddess anymore. She retired with her Olympian Muse Adonis. Laugh. Not that there was much competition for her goddess role in this half desert filled world."

Goddess Poison Ivy is petting some of the vine-snake Lapith. She lets them play with her goddess vine hair. They lightly hiss to each other.

Superman and Batman very awkwardly smirk some.

Goddess Poison Ivy offers, "Batman. It's been too long since we last spoke. Why don't you come to my palace?"

Batman considers, "maybe. We have plenty to discuss. But, Superman and Wonder Woman are good friends of mine. Do they get to come in too?"

He points over to Superman and Wonder Woman.

Goddess Poison Ivy makes a frustrated face toward Batman. She moderately sighs.

She concludes, "always business with you. I was hoping we could talk privately."

Batman offers, "if you tell us where Circe is? That could be arranged."

Superman and Wonder Woman look somewhat amused.

Goddess Poison Ivy pets some more of the vine-snake Lapith. Some more hisses are heard.

Goddess Poison Ivy bittersweetly reflects, "I do so missed our talks, Bruce. Laugh. You may not be from my timeline. You may not like when I tried to gobble up whole parties of people with giant venus flytraps. But, you always spoke to me like a equal. I always liked you. Laugh. Before you say it? Yes: You win. And... Circe is closer than you might think."

Goddess Poison Ivy lets a vine-snake Lapith hug her by wrapping himself around her. She hugs him back.

Batman somewhat nervously realizes, "she is in your kingdom?"

Goddess Poison Ivy nervously reveals, "we...found her in my kingdom in a time fluctuation. I tried to get her out. But, she is still trapped. Moderate sigh. She sounds very confused. That's all I know about her. Maybe your friends can help her break free and get me some answers."

Almost at the same time... Batman and Wonder Woman say, "understood."

Superman and Goddess Poison Ivy smile some.

Twenty five mortal minutes later, in Goddess Poison Ivy's palace...

Batman and Goddess Poison Ivy are sitting in her garden styled white and green throne room.

Goddess Poison Ivy has two tiger-bear Lapith standing guard by the throne room doors. Another tiger-bear Lapith is sitting in her lap and licking her arm.

Batman brings up, "Ivy... You're the goddess of nature of this world. Why are you planning to flood it all?"

With mixed feelings... Goddess Poison Ivy voices, "not all of the world. I'm keeping my kingdom Ivyland safe. Moderate sigh. To be honest? I'm right now not sure of another way to bring peace to this world in Demeter's honor. The fighting out there? It... Moderate sigh. It never seems to stop. I'm prepared to battle with Poseidon and Zeus to finally make it all stop."

Some tears fall from her face. Batman gets teary eyed.

Batman highlights, "there should be a better way than this for restoring the world. We both know that. Me, Wonder Woman, and Superman know the goddess Circe holds the key. We just need a little more time to restore all natural wonders and humans. No more water shortages. Billions of lives brought back. Isn't that plenty of reason to wait a little longer?"

Goddess Poison Ivy awkwardly smiles to Batman.

Goddess Poison Ivy considers, "all right. I'll wait ten more minutes. But, only because I really like you Bruce."

She puts a comforting hand on his. They awkwardly smile to each other.

The teariness in their eyes starts to kind of slowly dry up.

A few mortal minutes later, not far from Goddess Poison Ivy's kingdom...

Superman and Wonder Woman find a circle of unconscious Lapith around a mostly hollow tree.

And... There is a time fluctuating Circe in the tree.

Over his battlesuit's comlink... Batman explains to Superman and Wonder Woman what he just found out from Poison Ivy.

Batman adds, "but, knowing Zeus and Poseidon? They're getting ready to fight sooner."

Storm clouds from Zeus are coming for Goddess Poison Ivy's kingdom. Rivers and lakes across the world are getting massive rainstorms from Poseidon.

Superman considers, "hmm. Thank you. I understand too well what I have to do. I'll be back as soon as I can."

Superman starts to fly fast into the sky.

Wonder Woman somewhat lightly calls out, "I understand Clark. Just be careful up there!" Superman assures, "thank you. But, I will be."

Wonder Woman waves to him. Superman waves back.

Superman takes a deep breath.

He flies around the world to go after storm clouds from Zeus and from Poseidon.

Wonder Woman thinks out loud, "well... There is one thing Goddess Poison Ivy likely hasn't tried. Nervous sigh. Here goes nothing."

And... She gets her golden lasso around the time fluctuating Circe.

A near blindingly bright light goes around Circe. Wonder Woman reactively shields her eyes. Circe cries out in time delayed mental overload.

Superman uses his laser vision and super strength hand claps to vaporize storms: Rainfall and all.

With help from his battlesuit absorbing momentum around him? He flies fast around the world to vaporize rainfall passing over him.

Wonder Woman calls out, "Circe! I'm here to help you. Can you hear me?!"

Circe is fluctuating between herself, a time displaced unconscious Artemis, and a time displaced Aresia. Circe is in bad condition and exchanging punches with the time displaced Aresia.

Without a second thought? Wonder Woman pulls Circe away from the time displaced Aresia with her golden lasso.

Wonder Woman uses her glowing light blue spirit energy blade to block a incoming slash from the time displaced Aresia.

The momentum from the block alone is enough to collapse the temporal rift upon itself. The time displaced Aresia cries out in mental overload.

Wonder Woman and Circe are hugging each other close. Circe is crying over her shoulder.

Between her tears... Circe confesses, "I'm really sorry Diana. I... I wanted more peace...with talking to Amazons and Gargarei. Hard sniffle. I...not mean to destroy...so many humans, Amazons, and...! !"

Teary eyed... Wonder Woman solemnly tells her, "I forgive you, Circe. Hard sniffle. Your heart was in the right place. Now... Hard sniffle. Please go back in time to stop yourself from creating this reality warp. I promise to help you find another way for more peace."

Circe somewhat shakily figures, "thank you. I... I will go back in time for you, Diana."

Circe kind of slowly pulls away from Wonder Woman. They bittersweetly smile to each other.

Circe is going back to ancient times. She starts to vanish from sight.

Zeus and Poseidon are about to go to Poison Ivy's palace to try to destroy her and anyone in their way. Zeus and Poseidon are about to send too many storm clouds for Superman to hold off.

Just then... A reality warp covers the world.

In flashes of purple... The timeline on Earth is back to normal: Oceans, humans, cities, and all.

The skies are clear blue over most of the world.

In the middle of a forest in Maine?

Wonder Woman as Diana and Circe smile to each other in a knowing way.

They hug each other close. The teariness in their eyes is drying up.

From high in the sky above them?

A set of flashes with silhouettes fly by: Of Diana as Wonder Woman and Circe chasing Hades away from Hades's vacation spot in space called Pluto, of Circe turning Pluto into a wildlife reserve and vacation resort called Lapith Kingdom...and of Diana, Etta Ranch, Steve Trevor, and Devastator Woman going on roller coaster rides and safaris with Circe at Lapith Kingdom.

Another set of flashes with silhouettes fly by: Of a metahuman Poison Ivy talking to Harley Quinn in their messy apartment, of a thought bubble from Poison Ivy saying "I kind of miss when I was a goddess", of Etta Ranch and Amanda Waller playing chess on a chessboard that has the word Checkmate across it, of two Atramentum A.I. pictures of Aphrodite and Ares with glowing red eyes...and of Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman hanging out with drinks at the Fortress of Solitude.
