A Imperfect Fantasy, Part 2:
With some mixed feelings... Wonder Woman concludes, "Aphrodite... I'm grateful you saved me from Doctor Cyber. But, I don't have a lot of time to stop her. What is going on?"
Aphrodite tries to assure, "Diana... She doesn't yet know how god time or goddess time works. She only today got the power of a goddess. We have plenty of goddess minutes to talk. Still... Would it be easier if I told you what's going on with a musical number?"
Sounding a little better... Wonder Woman says, "all right Aphrodite. Please: Go ahead."
She smiles a little. The teariness in her eyes starts to dry up.
With a smile... Aphrodite adds, "I'd love to."
With a wave of her goddess hand... She creates a cosmic gold stage in the Gaianetarium flames.
Aphrodite also mystically changes clothes. She is now wearing a open purple leather jacket with bright red hearts and black boots with mystically circling around silver crosses.
Wonder Woman sits on a cosmic black bench to watch her sing.
Aphrodite sings, "come on, come on... I feel like I've been locked up tight for centuries of battle filled nights... Waiting for someone to really save me. Yeah! Come on, come on... Uh! Ares may have been at times a lovely pain. But, now I see..."
Flashes go by: Of Aphrodite and Ares racing down a stone hall with countless fighters from ancient history slashing blades at each other, of Aphrodite and Ares lying in bed, of late night parties hosted by Ares and Aphrodite for mortals with blade juggling and dance-offs and games of Spin and Fire the Cupid Arrow...and of cruelly laughing god fire elementals charging for coastal cities across the world.
The view cuts back to a bathroom mirror. Aphrodite punches the mirror hard into watery pieces.
Aphrodite solemnly sings, "now I see he's getting worse. And, we can put out his fire together..."
In the Gaianetarium flames... Aphrodite and Wonder Woman are shown getting golden lassoes around the watery pieces to take out the god fire elementals with ease.
Aphrodite more lightly goes into the next verse, "you're looking at me like I'm crazy. But, I'm just the love goddess who wants to blow kisses your way. But, that don't mean I'll push my love on you... All you'd have to say is no. Just please at least consider all of me. All I ask, all I ask, all I ask now..."
In the Gaianetarium flames... Aphrodite and Wonder Woman are shown sitting at a dining room table with a bright red tablecloth, five golden lit candles, grilled steaks, and seashell styled silverware.
Aphrodite offers a skyscraper styled cake in one goddess hand. She offers a bow and a Cupid arrow in the other. Wonder Woman looks amused and nervous all at once.
The scene on the gold stage changes to a large bridge made of gold and red ropes.
Blue to red race cars are speeding across the bridge. Aphrodite is standing on top of one of the race cars.
Dionysus is standing on another race car across from her. He's wearing a open orangish red jacket and sparkly silver boots with mystically circling around wine glasses.
Aphrodite sings, "baby, baby, baby... Oh, oh, ohhh... My heart may be sayin' let's go. Oh, oh, ohhh... But your heart is sayin' don't know what to make of me."
They're jump spinning across the race cars with ease. Dionysus starts to add backup vocals for the song.
Dionysus and Aphrodite continue, "if you wanna be my partner... There's very little price to pay. I'm seeking to save the world too, and I can be your goddess forever. Love me, hate me, say what you will about me... But, don't tell me I never offered the power of love to you baby. There's no one I wouldn't save for you, you, you... Your ways already rub me the right way. Can't you see we'd be lovely together? If you wanna be my partner... I can make all your wishes come true. Is there a trap from Ares? Is there a catch? Baby, you're the only catch I need. I liked what you do from the start..."
Aphrodite spin tap dances on one car. Dionysus jump flips over to where she is.
Dionysus puts a hand on hers. They're soon tap dancing and twirling together on one speeding race car.
Between the ropes of the rope bridge... Flashes go by: Of a spinning globe of Earth with candy hearts and pink streamers, of Aphrodite bending down on one knee like she's about to be knighted by Wonder Woman and her bright red spirit energy blade...and of most of Wonder Woman's adventures from 2013.
Dionysus and Aphrodite go on, "I'm seeking to save the world too, and I can be your goddess forever. Love me, hate me, say what you will about me... But, don't tell me I never offered the power of love to you baby. There's no one I wouldn't save for you, you, you... Your ways already rub me the right way. Can't you see we'd be lovely together?"
Another set of flashes go by: Of Aphrodite carving a heart with Wonder Woman written across it on a stone wall with bright red goddess blasts, of two certain recent scenes with Aphrodite and Wonder Woman...and of Dionysus and Aphrodite using god vines and goddess water blasts to save hundreds of mortals from many blocks of burning apartment buildings.
All the while... Aphrodite and Dionysus keep tap dancing and twirling together.
Aphrodite goes into the next verse, "come on, come on... We can come out of the fires together. The music's fading and the lights are down low. I'd light up your nights, shine all the lights of truth your way... I've been waiting for someone who really needs me: Not just a goddess part of me. My heart is racing at the speed of light. But, we got so many goddess minutes to decide what you want..."
A third set of flashes go by: Of Aphrodite and Wonder Woman dancing at a night club to disco music, of a few of Wonder Woman's recent adventures, of a pink clocktower with two fast spinning clock hands and no numbers, of late night parties with Dionysus and his god followers from a certain Central Vision in the midst of the Crisis of Infinite Visions...and of late night parties with the Muses of Nine dancing and singing backup vocals in a circle around Aphrodite while she's lounging on heart pillows.
Dionysus and Aphrodite continue, "baby, baby, baby... Oh, oh, ohhh... My heart may be sayin' let's go. Oh, oh, ohhh... But your heart is sayin' don't know what to make of me... If you wanna be my partner... There's very little price to pay. I'm seeking to save the world too, and I can be your goddess forever. Love me, hate me, say what you will about me... But, don't tell me I never offered the power of love to you baby. There's no one I wouldn't save for you, you, you... Your ways already rub me the right way. Can't you see we'd be lovely together?"
The whole scene then vanishes around Dionysus and Aphrodite.
They both take a bow. Wonder Woman is clapping and bittersweetly smiling.
With a wave of Aphrodite's goddess hand... Dionysus vanishes from sight.
Aphrodite lightly goes, "thank you, thank you!"
She sits next to Wonder Woman.
Wonder Woman somewhat nervously points out, "I don't mean to be rude Aphrodite. But... Moderate sigh. There's no easy way to ask you this. Why have you been together with Ares for so long, and what finally made you change your mind?"
Completely unphased... Aphrodite responds, "I don't blame you at all. Many have questioned why he was my god partner. The truth is...there are several different kinds of love. There's the typical happy ending love. There's parental love. There's friendship. Mix up a high concentration of self love, and you get selfishness. Mix up a high concentration of love for someone else's goodies and not them? You get jealousy. And jealousy and hate share the same room a lot."
Wonder Woman mutters, "oh goddesses! I really didn't need that last part."
She makes a disgusted face. Aphrodite gulps nervously.
Aphrodite apologizes, "I'm sorry. You want a massage? It might help you relax."
Wonder Woman considers, "hmm. Maybe another time." Aphrodite casually says, "okay."
Wonder Woman hints, "so... Back to the second part of my question..."
Aphrodite highlights, "ohh. Right. Well... Ares is planning to mind control people for a big coming battle. And, that is a big no from me! It was part of our vows. As long as he doesn't use mind control? He can create as many battles as he likes, and I can try to stop as many battles as I can with love. Giggle. You have no idea how thrilling those kind of mind games were for me."
Wonder Woman chuckles.
She kind of awkwardly deduces, "well, I'm getting a picture. And, it's not so bad of a picture from you."
Aphrodite lightly goes, "oh, wonderful! And... I really mean it when I say I want to be your goddess. You're so kind and hopeful and a champion of truth."
Aphrodite puts somewhat comforting hands on Wonder Woman's.
Wonder Woman starts to say, "you are being very sweet, Aphrodite. But..."
Aphrodite assumes, "is it my hair color? Because I can change it up if you..."
Wonder Woman lightly answers, "no. Chuckle. You don't have to change your appearance for me."
Aphrodite lightly concludes, "aw. Thank you! What's bothering you, Diana? I'm listening."
Wonder Woman brings up, "I agree we need to stop both Doctor Cyber and Ares. But... How can you be so cheerful when people are destroyed in battle and sent to the afterlife?"
Aphrodite all too lightly voices, "the Elysian Fields, Tartarus... They're two sides of another way of living. It's just harder to visit them unless you're there. Chuckle. Some people on Earth love people in Elysian Fields so much that they still see them and call them "ghosts". Some people love to be scared and see people in Tartarus as thrills."
Wonder Woman awkwardly implies, "wow. I think you're simplifying this too much. But, it's not a good time to get into this. If we're going to be friends... We got to discuss it sometime."
Aphrodite kind of lightly figures, "we will. But... Do you see me as just a friend?"
With mixed feelings... Wonder Woman explains, "you can't make people love you, Aphrodite. I'm really sorry to break this to you. But... Moderate sigh. I have a partner, and his name is Steve Trevor."
Aphrodite lets go of Wonder Woman's hands.
Aphrodite frustratedly sighs. She also puts her arms out.
Aphrodite reveals, "I gave him god powers to try to help you both! Why do you still choose him?"
Wonder Woman looks wide eyed in shock.
Sounding stunned... She asks, "what?"
Teary eyed... Aphrodite reflects, "please let me make this clear to you: I want Doctor Cyber and Ares defeated for the greater good of Amazons and of everyone else. When you went back in time with Steve's help to try to stop them? I gave Steve Trevor a fair chance to prove he could fight as a equal alongside you. If he wasn't destroyed? We wouldn't be talking here in the Gaianetarium flames right now. What more do I have to do to prove I'm the better partner for you? I... I really don't understand."
Wonder Woman heavily sighs.
Wonder Woman tries to assure, "Aphrodite... I'm sure we can be best friends. But... Loving someone enough to be a partner for them is something you just feel. And... Heavy sigh. You're a goddess of love. Can't you understand that too?"
She puts a somewhat comforting hand on Aphrodite's.
Aphrodite heavily sighs. She finds it hard to look up.
After a bit... She looks up.
With mixed feelings... Aphrodite realizes, "damn. You're right Diana. I just... Heavy sigh. I really believe you're a perfect match for me. Yes: For both of my faces. Aphrodite and Dionysus. You don't have to tell me no again. I'll respect your wishes. Just... Heavy sigh. Please let me finish telling you what I'm thinking. We can go back to stopping Doctor Cyber and Ares afterwards."
Wonder Woman reasons, "well... If you still want to tell me..." Aphrodite adds, "I do. Please."
Wonder Woman nods.
Aphrodite thanks her. The teariness in her eyes starts to dry up.
Aphrodite kind of lightly reflects, "if it wasn't for Ares being flexible with sharing partners? I would've left him centuries ago. Ares just hung out with Dionysus at parties as Hephaestus. Hephaestus is Ares in disguise. He made up the identity of Hephaestus just to give blades and battle wear to both sides easily. Me and Dionysus can be a package deal. It depends on the partner. And, you're the only one I've ever admitted Ares's secret identity to. Okay: There's also Ariadne. But, she's the only partner of mine I told about it. No one else knows. I promise!"
With a wide smile... Wonder Woman voices, "Aphrodite... I'm honored you're trusting me with so much. My answer hasn't changed. But, I'm still honored."
With a bittersweet smile... Aphrodite adds, "you're very welcome. Can I hug you?"
Wonder Woman says, "yes you can."
Aphrodite hugs her close. Wonder Woman hugs her back.
Wonder Woman suggests, "you're welcome. Can we please now focus on stopping Doctor Cyber and Ares?"
They pull away some.
Aphrodite lightly concludes, "absolutely yes. I can send you back in time to the beginning of that day one last time before they catch on that I helped you stop them. What do you have in mind?"
Wonder Woman implies, "well... It's kind of crazy. But... With your help? It just might work."
Aphrodite lightly goes, "ooh! I love it already."
They both chuckle at that.
Back to a certain day in mortal time, on Themiscrya...
Wonder Woman plans out, "don't worry mother, Queen Antiope, and Steve. I have a plan for us all to stop Doctor Cyber and her S. Y. S. T. E. Matics. I'll explain later how I know who she is. But, right now... While we have the element of surprise... Me, Etta, and Donna Troy will get to a magic mirror to help protect us all from her space portals. A gift from a certain goddess I trust is going to help with that."
On the middle part... She gets a goddess made triple sized golden lasso around Ariadne Pixnit.
Wonder Woman pulls her in by surprise. She knocks her out with one hard punch.
On the last part... Wonder Woman shows Aphrodite's golden lasso to everyone.
Steve, Etta, Queen Hippolyta, Queen Antiope, and all the other Amazons smile.
Queen Hippolyta considers, "very well, Diana. You clearly have a plan worthy of a queen. May Athena and Apollo continue to protect us all and both of our islands."
With a wide smile... Wonder Woman says, "thank you very much, mother. May Athena and Apollo continue to protect us all and both of our islands."
She, Etta, and Donna Troy hurry for Diana's former bedroom in the second pyramid of Themiscrya. They're each carrying a part of Aphrodite's golden lasso.
Doctor Cyber declares her plans. She has her S. Y. S. T. E. Matics start to fire plasma beams worldwide.
Both Amazon nations are firing spirit energy arrows at the S. Y. S. T. E. Matics. Steve is firing laser fast fire from his light gun pointer at one of the S. Y. S. T. E. Matics. Batman, Superman, and their forces struggle to hold off more S. Y. S. T. E. Matics in the sky.
With Coeus's god blade... Doctor Cyber is creating portals from outer space to the Earth's oceans.
Spirit energy arrows, Amazons, and Steve start to go flying into the portals. Steve is mortal again.
But... Wonder Woman, Etta, and Donna Troy are using magic portals from a certain bedroom's magic mirror to spread Aphrodite's golden lasso across Doctor Cyber's magic portals.
In a forming web of golden rope... Parts of Aphrodite's golden lasso smash into seven S. Y. S. T. E. Matics.
Doctor Cyber angrily cries out, "what chaotic **** by the gods is going on now?!"
Steve and all the Amazons on the battlefield grab parts of Aphrodite's golden lasso to keep themselves from flying into Doctor Cyber's portals.
With Doctor Cyber distracted in her shock? The Amazons and Steve use spirit energy arrows and laser fast fire to destroy all the S. Y. S. T. E. Matics flying over Themiscrya.
Explosions go off with smoke clouds and raining robot parts. Only a few craters are on Themiscrya.
And... From a certain magic mirror... Wonder Woman, Donna Troy, and Etta are smirking wide.
Wonder Woman taunts, "oh Doctor Cyber? This isn't the work of Ares or Zeus. This time? There will be a happy ending...because I'm going to take you down for the greater good."
Doctor Cyber coldly cries out, "Wonder Woman! ! ! Amazons! ! !"
She angrily charges right for Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman and Donna Troy charge for her. Wonder Woman and Donna Troy are exchanging fists with Doctor Cyber across several space portals.
Doctor Cyber uses her remote control on the remaining S. Y. S. T. E. Matics to try to send them all to Themiscrya through her portals to take out the Amazons fast.
This just makes it easier for Superman, Batman, and their forces to destroy the remaining S. Y. S. T. E. Matics with lasers. Explosions go off with smoke clouds and raining robot parts.
Ares appears in the sky. He's about to pull out his god lasso.
Suddenly... Aphrodite appears in the sky in front of him.
Aphrodite suggests, "Ares... If you still want to be my god partner... Can we please put aside for just one day your games so we can talk?"
With some mixed feelings... Ares mutters, "damnit. Frustrated sigh. Fine! Let's talk. But, only because I still love you! Don't expect me to not be a god of battles."
Aphrodite assures, "that's good enough for me."
She puts a somewhat comforting hand on his shoulder. They bittersweetly smile to each other.
And... They both vanish from Themiscrya.
A few goddess minutes earlier, in the Gaianetarium flames...
With mixed feelings... Wonder Woman highlighted, "some men have a harder time admitting when they're wrong. Trust me: I've known a few men like that myself. And... Heavy sigh. I care too much about you not to say this, Aphrodite. If there is still a chance of you and Ares getting back together... You deserve to know. I can't believe I'm saying that about Ares. But... I know you're deep down a good person, Aphrodite. And, I want you to be happy: Even if part of that is driving me crazy."
Aphrodite chuckled. She put a comforting hand on Wonder Woman's.
Aphrodite was reflecting, "aw. Thank you Diana. And yes: I understand hating Ares. No hard feelings. If you want my help on anything? I'll do what I can because I love you that much. Just please don't tell Ares if I get back together with him...because how else can I spy on his worldwide battle plans for you?"
They smiled wide to each other.
Presently, back with Donna Troy and Wonder Woman...
Donna Troy and Wonder Woman are about to tackle Doctor Cyber.
Just then... Doctor Cyber electrically charges her whole battlesuit.
Donna Troy and Wonder Woman groan hard. They're reactively clutching their sides.
Bana-Mighdall Artemis jump kicks Doctor Cyber hard into one of her own portals.
With a wave of Coeus's god blade... Doctor Cyber changes the portal to a highway in 1980's Egypt.
Doctor Cyber flip kicks off a car to slow her momentum. She lands in the middle of the desert highway.
A pile up of cars is forming around the smashed up car.
Bana-Mighdall Artemis angrily slashes her dark red spirit energy blade at Doctor Cyber. Doctor Cyber keeps putting up cybernetic force shields to block her slashes.
Suddenly... Doctor Cyber has a 1980's Egyptian fighter tank drop down from one of her portals.
Several cars are exploding in flaming pieces from the impact. Twenty Egyptians are making a run for it.
Bana-Mighdall Artemis tries to tumble duck out of the way of the tank.
But... She's hit hard by a section of the tank.
She coughs hard. She's struggling to stay conscious.
Doctor Cyber slashes Coeus's god blade at the tank. It splits in two cosmically burning halves.
Doctor Cyber is in the midst of coldly muttering, "end of the line, Amazons. Starting with..."
Just then... Wonder Woman gets her golden lasso around Coeus's god blade.
Doctor Cyber and Wonder Woman are playing tug of war with Coeus's god blade.
Queen Hippolyta and Queen Antiope call out, "for all Amazons! ! For Wonder Woman! ! For Athena! !"
With battle cries... All the Amazons including Bana-Mighdall Artemis are charging for Doctor Cyber.
They're all coming from portals with Aphrodite's golden lasso spread out in a rope web.
They slash at Doctor Cyber with a ton of spirit energy blades. Doctor Cyber is using Coeus's god blade and cybernetic shields from all four limbs to try to block them all.
But... Doctor Cyber's battlesuit is soon covered with dents and spirit energy slashes.
Sparks fly from short circuiting sections of her battlesuit.
Doctor Cyber cries out in anger. She jump runs through another one of her portals.
She swings around a electrical tower from a 2012 European power plant to kick Amazon Queen Hippolyta hard. Doctor Cyber simultaneously jettisons several short circuited pieces of her battlesuit by the electrical sparks to explode around Queen Antiope.
Both Amazon Queens are sent flying through a portal to the time of dinosaurs.
They both crash land hard on jungle land. They groan hard.
Wonder Woman and Donna Troy help them back up. They run out of the way of a charging T-Rex.
Doctor Cyber runs through a portal to America in the 1770's. She is breathing hard.
The Amazons are coming after her from portals left and right.
Doctor Cyber's damaged battlesuit has sections falling off with holes left behind in their places. She is running between laser fast fire, smoke trails, and explosions in the Battle of Bunker Hill.
At least one thousand British fighters are firing two arm handled light gun pointers at hundreds of U.S. colonial fighters. They're firing back with their own two arm handled light gun pointers.
Etta kind of lightly calls out, "hey Doctor Cyber! Where do you think you're going?"
Doctor Cyber is about to create another portal from Coeus's god blade.
But... Etta hurls several fallen pieces of Doctor Cyber's battlesuit at her.
Doctor Cyber fires lightning blasts from her battlesuit's gauntlets to destroy most of them.
But... One of them smashes into her battlesuit's helmet.
At the same time... Donna Troy, Bana-Mighdall Artemis, and Steve punch Doctor Cyber hard.
Doctor Cyber is coughing hard. She is clutching both of her sides.
She reactively lets go of Coeus's god blade. Steve picks it up.
Wonder Woman high jump flips towards Doctor Cyber from a already smashing in stone wall.
Doctor Cyber barely tumbles out of the way of her landing.
Wonder Woman hurls a cannonball with her golden lasso at her.
Doctor Cyber is sent flying from the impact. She falls unconscious against a nearby tree.
Wonder Woman, Steve, Etta, and all the Amazons are gathering by the tree to get out of range of the ongoing laser fast fire from British fighters and U.S. colonial fighters.
Steve lightly says, "great plan, Diana! You got her, and we saved everyone from her wraith."
With a wide smile... Wonder Woman highlights, "thank you Steve. But... It wasn't just me. Aphrodite, you, Etta, the Amazons... All our hopes and dreams are stronger together than apart. We all did it."
They all smile wide to each other. They start walking back to the portals with Aphrodite's golden lasso.
Not long after, back on Themiscrya in the year 2014...
Wonder Woman hands Aphrodite Coeus's god blade and Aphrodite's golden lasso to her.
With a wide smile... Aphrodite adds, "thank you Diana. For everything."
Wonder Woman adds, "you're welcome."
Aphrodite reveals, "and you were right about Ares. Ares was being too prideful to admit at first he wasn't really going to act on the whole mind control for a battle thing. So... We're back together now."
Wonder Woman bittersweetly admits, "personally? I think you're too good for Ares. But... Of course we can still best friends, Aphrodite."
Aphrodite lightly goes, "oh good!"
She hugs Wonder Woman close. She hugs her back.
They say goodbye to each other. Aphrodite vanishes from Themiscrya.
At the same time... Superman, Queen Antiope, and Queen Hippolyta ask, "Diana... What did we miss?"
Superman, Batman, Steve, Etta, Queen Antiope, Queen Hippoltya, a conscious Harbinger, and all the other Amazons are gathered around Wonder Woman. They're all sitting by dining room tables.
Sounding amused... Wonder Woman figures, "well, since Batman and Superman have just got here... I'll start at the beginning. Doctor Cyber came to Themiscrya. She was declaring her plans to destroy all gods, goddesses, and their followers..."
On the first part? Superman and Batman smile in a knowing way.
In the clouds...
A set of flashes with silhouettes fly by: Of intelligence agencies across the world sending government mechs to take out more S. Y. S. T. E. Matics under the evil spy organization S. Y. S. T. E. M, of Ariadne Pixnit placed in a cell in Arkham Aslyum, of Steve Trevor and Diana as Wonder Woman going on newer roller coaster rides based on Wonder Woman and Devastator Woman at Lapith Kingdom...and of Etta Ranch and Amanda Waller playing chess with the names Mike Schorr and Alana Dominguez by Amanda Waller's two knight pieces.
