Rings of Twilight, Part 1:

One day, on a Earth far away from Earth-0...

Donna Troy says, "Diana... What in the universe are we fighting? Even your golden lasso isn't holding it back!"

There are winter plains and mountaintops for miles. Skyscrapers with banners for Themiscrya International and The Amazons Attack Show are the only sign of modern technology on this Earth.

A tribe of humans with fur coats is trying to run from a towering tree troll like beast. They have wolf companions running alongside them.

The tree troll like beast has tree trunks for arms with gold stripes across them. Its head and its hands are ever-changing masses of vines and thorns.

Wonder Woman and Donna Troy have their bright blue spirit energy blades drawn out. Wonder Woman is reeling back in her golden lasso. They're both wearing mostly blue and black fur coats from many centuries ago.

Wonder Woman reflects, "Donna? I've heard of the legend of the hero Beowulf. But... Even I couldn't have predicted a Grendel with a goddess's fury! !"

With a thundering voice... The Grendel beast mutters, "I'm no goddess! The demon D'grth must be destroyed. I'll destroy Beowulf and anyone else in my way, harpies! !"

Sounding confused... Wonder Woman questions, "what in Hades are you saying? We're not demons or harpies! !"

Donna Troy points out, "yeah. This tribe is just trying to survive winter. They didn't do anything to you!"

With a heated glare... The Grendel beast cries out, "enough! ! !"

With one monstrous arm? He sends Wonder Woman and Donna Troy flying.

The Grendel beast uses his other monstrous arm to create a god tornado...scattering the tribe of humans and the wolves across the snowy plains.

Cries and yelps are heard.

Wonder Woman and Donna Troy land hard in the snow by the Grendel god.

They're both groaning hard. They're covered in spirit energy. All three spirit energy restoration charges from their Mala Amazon nation capes have just sparked off.

Donna Troy somewhat nervously asks, "what do we do now? We can't last much longer like this."

Wonder Woman determinedly insists, "we can and we will! I'm not out of ideas yet. Besides... Heavy sigh. You, me, and Beowulf are the only ones that can save all the Earths in time."

Not long before, on Earth-0...

It's a sunny summer day in June. Wonder Woman as Diana Prince, Donna Troy, and Etta Ranch are getting cooling spa treatments at a spa at the Dolphin Stars and Wings vacation resort in California.

Diana is wearing red and blue striped swimwear. Donna Troy is wearing mostly blue swimwear with shooting stars. Etta Ranch is wearing blue and white swirled swimwear.

Aphrodite is giving Diana a scrub with goddess cloud minerals and a massage. Donna Troy is getting a scrub with god cloud minerals and a massage from a staff member of the Dolphin Stars and Wings Resort. Etta is getting a warm stone massage from the god Cupid himself.

Cupid has red and blue swirled skin. He has medium golden brown hair. He wears a animated rainbows and pots of gold themed uniform.

Diana, Donna Troy, and Etta are lightly groaning.

They're smiling wide. Aphrodite and Cupid are smiling.

The staff members of the Dolphin Stars and Wings resort are mostly gray dolphin-dove mortal hybrids with gray blubbery claws for hands. There are paintings of Cupid, his goddess partner Psyche, and dolphins on the walls. The floor tiles are painted in coral reef like swirls. The song Just Can't Stop by Percy S. is playing on the radio.

Donna Troy concludes, "this is all amazing. Thank you."

Almost at the same time... Cupid and Aphrodite say, "you're welcome."

Most everyone chuckles a little.

Donna Troy can't help but wonder, "but... Cupid? Why don't I see your arrows around here?"

Aphrodite, Diana, and Etta make awkward faces.

Aphrodite is in the midst of explaining, "um... That may be a sensitive topic with..."

Cupid assures, "no, mother. It's okay. When the internet and online dating became popular? Mortals didn't need me to help guide them faster to who they were very likely going to love anyway. One of them even was kind of named after me."

On the last part? Most everyone chuckles.

Cupid explains, "so... I retired from my god business and opened up a new business to spread love and happiness. Affordable spa days and hotel days for anyone: Mortal or not."

All the while... Diana, Donna Troy, and Etta continue to lightly groan.

Aphrodite casually asks, "what about the California Hotel?"

Cupid points out, "it's apartments there now. So, it doesn't count as a hotel anymore. And Aphrodite? Don't even get me started on the prices of the vacation spots around California and Florida!"

Diana and Etta somewhat nervously laugh. Aphrodite chuckles.

Etta double checks, "are you sure you two don't need to blow off steam in another room?"

She raises a eyebrow.

Aphrodite lightly insists, "oh honey, this isn't arguing. Cupid is just a little touchy about his resort."

On the last part? She casually waves a hand in the air.

She just as fast goes back to her spa treatment for Diana.

Cupid figures, "that's right. And... With my mother Aphrodite really being on Diana's side? We have made up. We just pretend to argue around other gods and goddesses to keep my father Ares from finding out she's spying on him for you."

Aphrodite is quick to add, "you're welcome."

Diana and Donna Troy chuckle.

Diana adds, "thank you."

Diana, Donna Troy, and Etta continue to lightly groan.

Suddenly... In a god second... Aphrodite gets a message from Ares from Cupid's magic mirror.

In mortal time... Aphrodite apologizes, "I'm sorry girls. It may be one of Ares's usual rants. But... Moderate sigh. He seems troubled. I got to go check on him in case. I'll be back in a mortal minute."

Diana, Donna Troy, and Etta assure her it's okay. Aphrodite says thank you.

Aphrodite vanishes from sight.

In a mortal minute... Aphrodite appears back in Cupid's spa room.

She's now looking wide eyed in shock. She's shakily standing there.

Suddenly... She falls to the ground.

Everyone rushes over to check on her.

Donna Troy, Cupid, Diana, and Etta call out worriedly, "Aphrodite! !"

Diana checks in concern, "are you okay? What in Hades has happened?!"

Tears are falling from Aphrodite's face. She sniffles hard.

After a bit... Aphrodite implies, "Diana? I... Hard sniffle. I really wish your guess wasn't on the mark. Hades and Persephone. They...! !"

She tries hard not to cry.

Everyone else is getting teary eyed. They're sitting by Aphrodite in a circle.

Diana tries to assure, "Aphrodite... We'll stop them together. What did they do?"

She puts a comforting hand on Aphrodite's.

Aphrodite nervously gulps.

She somberly states, "I came to Zeus's god cloud to check on Ares. And... Hard sniffle. In the Ice Age? Almost all the gods and goddesses were destroyed by Chaos's forces of Grendels with Rhinegold. Now... Hard sniffle. I fear Hades and Persephone will destroy us all."

A set of flashes go by: Of Chaos trying to wipe out all god creations by starting the Ice Age with frost giants and ice dragons, of the Olympian gods trying to protect all god creations with castles and towering trees with god shields and goddess shields of varying colors, of Chaos's forces of Grendels charging for the Olympian castles and towering trees, of almost all the Olympian gods and god creations destroyed in magic dancing lights by the power of the Grendels, of Zeus and Hera later using their god powers and goddess powers to restore all the Olympian gods and god creations...and of a angry Gaia and a angry Uranus creating the cosmos itself to try to trap Chaos for good.

Aphrodite reveals, "Athena's Astraea Cycle pantheon and almost all Olympians... Hard sniffle. Destroyed in a god second! !"

In a cutaway... Most of the gods and goddesses are lying conscious in god clouds before Hades, Persephone, and a shadowy figure.

All three of them are glowing in a swirl of magic dancing lights and gold.

Donna Troy somewhat awkwardly points out, "but they didn't follow you here. So... We still have a little time. Right?"

Almost everyone awkwardly smiles some.

With a wider smile... Diana reflects, "you're right. Aphrodite? We should at least put up a fight to save the world. Are you with us?"

After a bit... Aphrodite nods.

Aphrodite reasons, "he's gone to another Earth to plan his next move. But... Hard sniffle. I believe in you and my goddess creation Cupid, Diana. I'm with you."

She hugs Diana close. She hugs her back.

Tears keep falling from Aphrodite's face. Yet, she's bittersweetly smiling.

She hugs Cupid close. He hugs her back.

Aphrodite brings Diana, Etta, and Donna Troy into goddess time. Cupid goes to check on everyone else in the Dolphin Stars and Wings resort.

Aphrodite bittersweetly considers, "Hera, Zeus, and Beowulf have worked together to stop Chaos's forces in the Ice Age. But... Neither of them told me, Ares, or the other gods and goddesses much about the Rhinegold. They just told us that it was so powerful that it can destroy a god. And... Finding Beowulf won't be easy: Even for me. Nervous laugh. He's been traveling across Earths all year on some royally big quest. He wouldn't stop to tell anyone what it is."

Diana concludes, "well... Beowulf helped bring the central Earth out of the Ice Age. I don't think he'd just stand by while Hade tries to turn all Earths into Tartarus pits. Whatever Beowulf's quest is? He will listen to your story. He will help us."

Aphrodite deduces, "I barely escaped from Hades's sight. I collapsed from exhaustion! Hard sniffle. I'm saying it'd be too risky for me to find Beowulf myself. But... Hard sniffle. Hades doesn't seem focused on finding you. You could find him before Hades or Persephone find you. If you get Titan Coeus's god blade back from Persephone? That would be a plus."

On the middle part? Diana is already getting on her clothes and her battle wear.

Donna Troy nervously asks Aphrodite, "wait: Persephone stole Coeus's god blade?! She's already got Rhinegold. What does she want with...?"

Aphrodite somewhat nervously points out, "okay! I didn't get a good look at the woman who stole Titan Coeus's god blade. But... Hard sniffle. I was guessing it was Persephone. Maybe it wasn't her."

All four of them make nervous faces.

After a bit... Donna Troy concludes, "you're my spiritual twin, Diana. You can argue all you want of how dangerous this quest is. But, I'm coming with you."

She's bittersweetly smiling. She's getting on her clothes and her battle wear.

With a wide smirk... Diana as Wonder Woman says, "I can't argue with you on that."

The teariness in everyone's eyes starts to slowly but surely dry up.

Etta adds, "I'm coming with you too."

With mixed feelings... Wonder Woman brings up, "I wish this time was that easy, Etta. I really do. But... Heavy sigh. Steve may have come back from being destroyed. But, even with god powers? He was destroyed by Doctor Cyber. And... We have few gods and goddesses left right now. Heavy sigh. For your own safety? I think you should stay here with Aphrodite and Cupid until we stop Hades."

On the first part? She puts a comforting hand on Etta's shoulder.

Etta frustratedly sighs. Aphrodite makes a very awkward face.

Etta admits, "I hate to admit it. But... You have a point, Diana. But, what am I supposed to do while you, Donna, and Beowulf fight Hades?"

With a smile... Wonder Woman figures, "well... I got a idea of how you can help us without going far."

Etta says, "I'm listening." Aphrodite adds, "I am too. Please go on."

Wonder Woman plans out, "Etta Ranch? You're good at diplomacy. You can reach out to governments on other Earths to search for any sign of Hades or Persephone without raising suspicion. Cupid must have a magic mirror somewhere. If we find Hades without him knowing that we know? We can stop him all the sooner."

With a smile... Etta realizes, "it's worth a try. Thank you, Diana."

Diana adds, "you're welcome."

Etta hugs Diana close. She hugs her back.

Etta figures, "I'll contact you through your portable magic mirror if we find Hades first. Diana? Donna? Please come back in one piece."

Etta hugs Donna Troy close. She hugs her back.

At the same time... Donna Troy and Wonder Woman assure, "we will be."

Aphrodite has a goddess portal start to form by Donna Troy and Wonder Woman.

Aphrodite with a goddess thought gave them both their winter coats from Paradise Island. They quickly put them on.

Donna Troy and Wonder Woman say goodbye to Etta and Aphrodite. They say goodbye back.

And... Donna Troy and Wonder Woman walk into the goddess portal...to a very certain Earth far away.

Presently...

Wonder Woman whispers to Donna Troy, "follow my lead."

They're firing blue spirit energy arrows at the Grendel god's head while lying sideways on the snow.

But... The surprise spirit energy arrows just pass right through the Grendel god like he's a ghost.

And... He grabs Wonder Woman and Donna Troy with a then giant sized god hand.

They both struggle to break free.

But... The Grendel god's grip is tightening.

Wonder Woman and Donna Troy are coughing hard. Their visions are getting blurry.

Suddenly... A bright white god fireball explodes in front of the Grendel god.

He reactively lets go of Wonder Woman and Donna Troy. He's groaning hard. He's covering his eyes.

A voice calls out, "Rhinegold cursed beast! ! How many times do I have to tell you? This is between you and me. There's no honor in picking off innocent villagers! !"

And... Standing there is Beowulf himself.

He has a mullet of light red hair and a matching medium beard. He wears mostly silvery and green Danish battle wear. He has a very dark brown two-handed battleaxe with Viking and Danish carvings.

Wonder Woman and Donna Troy start to break into a run.

Beowulf somewhat tensely goes, "this way! You'll be safe there."

Beowulf heads for one of the caves. Wonder Woman and Donna Troy change direction to follow him.

By the time the Grendel god looks up? Wonder Woman, Donna Troy, and Beowulf are gone.

The Grendel god cries out in anger, "Beowulf! ! !"

Wonder Woman says, "thank you." Beowulf adds, "you're welcome."

Both of them and Donna Troy are smiling some.

They're hiding in a cave. A illusion of a mountainside is in front of the cave.

Beowulf assumes, "where is your village? I can take you back to safety."

Donna Troy remarks, "well, you get some points for being half right earlier."

Beowulf annoyedly mutters, "are you mocking me, wench?"

With a heated glare... Donna Troy calls out, "what did you just call me?!"

Wonder Woman explains, "me and my spiritual twin are much more powerful fighters than you think. We've both fought against Chaos's forces and lived. But... I have to admit: You did this time save us."

On the first part? Wonder Woman raises a hand up toward Donna Troy.

Beowulf solemnly realizes, "forgive my errings. I see now you're both part of the League of Wonder Women. I'm the god Beowulf: Founder of the Vikings. My quest is to stop the wielder of the last Rhinegold from devastating all Earths."

A set of flashes go by: Of Zeus and Hera faking their own destruction to regroup away from the devastation of the Grendels, of a familiar looking caveman named Beowulf determined with a boulder to fight the Grendels, of a bittersweetly smiling Hera giving Beowulf god powers, of Beowulf and Zeus and Hera creating swamps as traps to stop the Grendels for good, of Zeus and Hera using their god powers and goddess powers to restore all the Olympian gods and god creations, of a bittersweetly smiling Zeus bringing back a Rhinegold ring to the Rhine Maidens...and of Beowulf time traveling hundreds of years to the future to lead his own god following known as the Vikings.

Donna Troy thinks to herself, "Zeus and Hera gave a man from the Ice Age god powers to help fight Grendels? Faint laugh. That explains this guy's attitude all too much."

Beowulf explains further, "but... It's always been stalemates with the Stalker of Nightmares. That is what he calls himself. With us fighting together? We may finally stop him."

In a cutaway... A man in mostly green wizard clothes with medium black frontless hair is running through a time portal...carrying a Rhinegold ring he stole from one of the sinking Grendels.

A few flashes go by: Of the figure in the time portal, of a certain shadowy figure in a god cloud with glowing red eyes...and of the Grendel god Beowulf dazed with a god fireball.

With a smile... Wonder Woman voices, "I'm relieved you're a big enough fighter to apologize to us, Beowulf. Please don't call either of us wenches again. You won't like me angry."

With a smile... Beowulf tries to assure, "I won't speak ill of you both again. That's a promise."

Wonder Woman somewhat lightly concludes, "then I for one forgive you. I'd be honored to fight beside you on both of our quests."

Beowulf suggests, "thank you Wonder Woman. I'd be honored as well."

They shake hands on it.

With some mixed feelings... Donna Troy voices, "Beowulf? This mission has gotten a lot bigger than you know. Hades and Persephone stole the Rhinegold ring from the Rhine Maidens and destroyed most of the gods and goddesses. Even though I don't like you much? Me and Diana came seeking your help to stop them from devastating all Earths."

Beowulf reasons, "that's fair enough. Maybe one day you can forgive me."

With a slight smile... Donna Troy says, "maybe one day."

After a bit... Wonder Woman somewhat tensely asks, "Beowulf... How do we defeat a god who has the Rhinegold? You're the only god left standing right now who knows all about the Rhinegold. Without that knowledge? We can't really fight the Stalker of Nightmares and win."

On the middle part? Beowulf nervously gulps.

With some mixed feelings... Beowulf admits, "knowing Poseidon? He's staying as far away as possible from Hades. Poseidon is not destroyed...because he knows too well of the power of the Rhinegold in the wrong hands. Faint laugh. The godly fool got cursed the day he tried to carry Theia away."

Donna Troy and Wonder Woman look wide eyed in shock.

Flashes go by: Of the Olympian gods battling the Titans on a primordial Earth, of Theia tearing up surprisingly light letters from Poseidon asking to be with her, of Poseidon trying to carry off Theia in the night while she cries out for help from Hyperion, of Poseidon and Hyperion angrily charging at each other with god blades, of Hyperion being destroyed in a god tidal wave from Poseidon...and of Hyperion's last god thought cursing Poseidon's light blue god blade to become a metallic gold Rhinegold god blade.

A second set of flashes go by: Of Poseidon joining Zeus and the other Olympians in battle against more of the Titans, of a Rhinegold energy covered Poseidon hurling crying out mortals and Nereid hard into a ocean, of Poseidon crushing his Rhinegold blade into a ball in great frustration, of Poseidon throwing the Rhinegold ball into a river...and of Poseidon trying to greatly discourage anyone like his more embittered self from taking the Rhinegold by creating three Nereid with cheerfulness to guard it.

Teary eyed... Beowulf continues, "then... The Ice Age came. Hermes was the only other god who figured out the power of the Rhinegold. He thought the Rhinegold would be enough to defeat Chaos and the frost giants for good. He disguised himself as a easily irritated caveman named Alberth to steal the Rhinegold from the Rhine Maidens when they were laughing too hard to see it. Heavy sigh. He didn't know Zeus had made a deal with frost giants to send Artemis to them as a goddess partner for the frost giant king in exchange for not fighting the Olympian gods. When Hermes foolishly gave Zeus the Rhinegold? Zeus... Hard sniffle. He changed the deal for the worse."

A set of flashes go by: Of a smiling Hermes secretly offering stolen Rhinegold to Zeus in the form of a ring, of a slightly smiling Zeus secretly offering the Rhinegold ring to a few frost giants to take to the frost giant king to fight the ice dragons instead of the Olympians, of a Rhinegold energy covered frost giant punching the other two hard, of the remaining frost giant transforming into a joy hating towering troll like beast with fire and ice powers...and of a darkly smiling Chaos creating fifty magical duplicates of the Grendel beast to become Chaos's forces of Grendels.

Wonder Woman shakily murmurs, "by the gods." Donna Troy mutters, "ohh damn."

Some tears fall from Wonder Woman's and Donna Troy's faces. Hard sniffles.

Beowulf has just told them everything about the Rhinegold.

The Rhinegold has the power to cast a more powerful illusion duplicate of a mortal, a god, or a goddess with all the powers of a god or of a goddess. It can be sent from anywhere. The only way to defeat the caster is to break the concentration of the caster long enough in both places at the same time.

Donna Troy remarks, "I really hope we find these three Titan nightmares soon. Because if they bring back Hyperion and try to turn me into his god partner? There's going to be hell to pay on Mount Olympus before and after! !"

She heatedly glares toward the cave entrance. She's clenching her fists.

Wonder Woman all too lightly asks, "if you're going to give Zeus hell... Can I get tickets for that?"

Wonder Woman bittersweetly smirks. Beowulf looks stunned.

With a slight smirk... Donna Troy just says, "sure! You can come."

Before Beowulf can say something? Wonder Woman hears a message notification from her portable magic mirror.

Wonder Woman sees it's from Etta Ranch. Wonder Woman opens a magic link to her on her portable magic mirror.

Etta somberly reports, "after asking several world governments? We saw big changes in the star positions. Cupid found Hades in the Galactic Center playing a game of marbles with the Earths. Hard sniffle. He and Psyche tried to stop Hades. Aphrodite and Circe tried to save them. But... Hard sniffle. Almost all four of them are destroyed. Hard sniffle. Circe made it back. But... She's taking the news pretty hard."

In a cutaway... A giant Hades punches Cupid and Psyche hard into Aphrodite.

They crash land hard into the Galactic Center's two cosmic islands. They fall unconscious.

Circe barely flies out of the way of one of Hades's giant god hands. Hades's twisted laughter is heard.

Wonder Woman is in the midst of saying, "Etta? I understand. Tell Circe I'll be back soon to..."

Meanwhile... A ton of goddess vines are stealthily coming in through the illusion over the cave entrance.

They grab Donna Troy and Beowulf before they can react.

Beowulf mutters under his breath, "****! !"

A goddess vine has taken his battleaxe.

Wonder Woman gasps. She barely duck tumbles away from a goddess vine slashing toward her with the battleaxe.

A familiar voice darkly remarks, "oh dear. It looks like I caught three flies that flew too close to the ground. Let me help you fly!"

In a goddess second... The goddess vines hurl Donna Troy and Beowulf hard into a cave wall.

They both groan hard. They're clutching their heads.

Wonder Woman starts to get up. She still has a hand on her portable magic mirror.

She calls out worriedly, "Donna! ! Beowulf! !"

Persephone and several Persephone duplicates are surrounding her, Donna Troy, and Beowulf. They all have identical looking Rhinegold rings and battleaxes.

With a dark grin... All the Persephones taunt, "surrender...or your two friends are going to get their hero jobs axed."

Wonder Woman heatedly glares at her.

At the same time... A god portal or a goddess portal starts to form behind Wonder Woman.
