Seasons of Wonder: A Wonder Woman Fanfiction Story
Sapphire Stars in The Sky:
One night, in Greece...
Wonder Woman as Diana is looking out to the night sky from a balcony in a white villas styled hotel. She is wearing a dark blue Greek bathrobe.
There are towers of magical starlight that supply electricity and spirit energy. Mostly blue domed and red domed houses are across Greece.
The evil wizards in the shadows of Greece were all taken down in the wake of the Crisis of Infinite Visions. The magical land of Starliyss and the mortal country of Greece have in recent months signed a peace treaty because leaders from both sides want to help strengthen both of their nations against god threats.
Steve asks in concern, "what's wrong Diana? This was a easy day for us to fight Ares."
With mixed feelings... Diana concludes, "I know. I should be happy. I... Moderate sigh. I feel like it may have been too easy. Even Fireball Speeders were untouched by his plans this time."
Flashes go by: Of over ten god followers of Ares in dark red flaming robes gathered on Greece's beaches with flaming blades, of Steve and several more U.S. fighters firing light gun pointers at the group of armed god followers of Ares, of a few of the group of Ares's god followers falling before laser fast fire...and of Wonder Woman hurling her tiara hard to take out the rest of them.
Steve casually wonders, "well... How did you know Ares created another Cerberus, and the original Cerberus didn't really escape from Tartarus?"
At the same time... He puts a comforting arm around Diana.
They smile to each other.
Diana points out, "Cerberus doesn't have a rattlesnake for a tail: His tail is just scaly and snake like. He also growls at the first sign of nervousness. Me and most Amazons on Paradise Island aren't afraid of him. So... The real Cerberus wouldn't have growled at me too."
Steve suggests, "you know... Ares may have just assumed dogs from the underworld are always angry. He may not have been trying to distract us from a bigger plan."
Diana adds, "maybe you're right. But... How are you sure?"
She's looking back out to the night sky. They both moderately sigh.
Steve somewhat lightly states, "I love you, Angel. But... There are times when you worry too much. Trust me: This is one such time."
Diana assures, "aw. I do trust you, Steve: With all my heart. I love you too."
With a reflection from a window on the balcony... Their silhouettes blend as one.
Soon... They head back into their hotel room.
They're lying on the mostly blue bed...when they hear a knock at the door.
Diana asks, "who is it?" A familiar voice says, "room service. I believe you and Steve Trevor ordered some drinks."
Steve checks, "Diana? Why does the waiter's voice sound familiar?"
Diana chuckles. She answers the door.
She points out, "because he's really Apollo with a message. "Very subtle", Apollo."
Apollo is standing at the door in a blue and white striped waiter's outfit. He is carrying two green glass bottles of wine.
Steve is trying and failing to not laugh hard at the sight of Apollo looking like this.
With a awkward smile... Apollo reflects, "well, Diana... I'm more subtle with my visions than I used to be. Your friend Clark would agree it's been a impressive way to share my visions to those that need it most."
He goes into the hotel room. He hands Diana and Steve each their glass bottles of wine.
With a wide smile... Diana figures, "that's more than fair, Apollo. Go ahead and spill. What is the vision you need to share with me?"
Apollo's smile quickly fades.
He tells, "there is trouble brewing at EverBlue Rhine Springs, and even the Rhine Maidens aren't prepared for what's coming. When you get there tomorrow? You'll understand what I mean."
Diana's and Steve's smiles fade.
Steve is already pouring wine into glasses for him and Diana.
Diana somewhat nervously reasons, "yeah. I'll take your word for it, Apollo. Thank you for the vision. But... Can you answer one question before you go?"
Apollo just says, "without giving away too much of your future? I can try."
Diana asks, "can Steve, Etta, Circe, and Devastator Woman come with me?"
Apollo concludes, "I'm afraid Etta is busy with business with Amanda Waller tomorrow. And... Faint chuckle. Steve may prefer swimming with sharks than being around Devastator Woman."
Diana awkwardly goes, "oh gods. You really had to say that?"
Steve laughs a little.
With a faint smile... Apollo apologizes, "I'm sorry. I may have said a little too much. Good night, Diana Prince and Steve Trevor."
Almost at the same time... Diana and Steve say goodnight to Apollo.
Apollo vanishes from sight.
Steve sarcastically remarks, "hey. I've wrestled with worse sharks before Wonder Woman came into my life."
With a smile... Diana points out, "you lie."
Steve figures, "true. But, with you by my side? Nothing is too dark or grim."
He puts a comforting hand on Diana's.
Diana smiles wide. She blushes.
She goes, "aw! Thank you, Steve." Steve adds, "you're welcome, Diana."
Steve says, "to bright days ahead."
He and Diana clink glasses. They drink some wine.
Diana considers, "hmm. Maybe it would be a better idea to bring Circe and not Devastator Woman with us to EverBlue Rhine Springs. Water and lava don't always go together."
Steve concludes, "that's true. Although, if I got god powers again..."
Diana tells him, "I welcome it if it comes, Steve. But, I'm afraid it won't likely happen tomorrow."
Steve nods. They solemnly smile some to each other.
The next day, on New Atlantis...
The sun is shining bright.
Past two mostly blue coral reef hills... There is a vacation resort called EverBlue Rhine Springs.
There are pools, two towers mostly made of watery water slides, a watery spa, and gold stone golf. Many Atlanteans and magic citizens are laughing, swimming, and playing here.
Gold stone golf is a game where players fire gold nuggets with slingshots into golf course styled rivers for points. The third floor of EverBlue Rhine Springs is a museum with history exhibits around the Rhinegold.
EverBlue Rhine Springs is also the Rhine Maidens's new home. The Rhine Maidens's names are Woglinde, Wellgunde, and Flosshilde. The fourth floor has a watery bed for each of them.
Circe figures, "you said there trouble, Diana. But... All me see is watery paradise."
She, Diana as Wonder Woman, and Steve are walking past the pools and water slide towers.
Steve concludes, "aside from the history exhibit? I agree. What are we doing here...again?"
Suddenly... He, Circe, and Wonder Woman notice a second Wonder Woman and Aquaman fast walking down some watery steps.
Wonder Woman grimly deduces, "I think we're about to have another crisis of Earths. Come on! Hurry."
She, Steve, and Circe fast walk down the watery steps.
They find themselves in front of a watery cave.
Suddenly... The Rhine Maidens appear.
They all try to assure, "Diana! Don't worry." Woglinde starts to say, "it's not a crisis."
Flosshilde explains, "with our first big act as goddesses of the oceans? We're trying to encourage brighter days with a Aquaman and Wonder Woman movie."
At the same time... Wonder Woman and Steve incredulously ask, "what?!"
Circe somewhat cluelessly concludes, "what? It sound like fun. Can I get a part?"
Flosshilde whispers to her, "maybe in the sequel."
Circe smiles. Wonder Woman makes a nervous face.
Wonder Woman apologizes, "I'm sorry, ladies. I know you all mean well. But... Apollo said there's trouble brewing here. Um... Maybe we should look somewhere else on New Atlantis. I'm really sorry to trouble you. Good luck on your movie."
Steve nervously smiles. Circe and all the Rhine Maidens smile wide.
All the Rhine Maidens figure, "that's okay, Diana."
Then... Wellgunde brings up, "actually... We're not writing the movie. We're just providing the set and actors. Our honorary member Amphitrite is writing the whole movie."
On the last part? Wonder Woman looks wide eyed in shock.
With mixed feelings... Wonder Woman thinks to herself, "ohh... Damn. Now I know what Apollo meant by trouble brewing. Heavy sigh. Amphitrite is going to try to bring back her partner Poseidon at any cost. How do I let the Rhine Maidens down easy about this?"
Almost at the same time... Steve and Circe ask in concern, "Diana? Are you okay?"
Wonder Woman bittersweetly voices, "yeah. I just... Heavy sigh. Amphitrite has been through a lot with losing her partner Poseidon to the Rhinegold. I'm concerned giving her goddess powers this soon could overwhelm her. Can I check on her?"
All the Rhine Maidens say yes. They make a goddess portal for Wonder Woman.
Steve argues, "Diana? You and I both know the danger of what Amphitrite can do. You can't go in by yourself. This is crazy! !"
Steve's smile has faded. Wonder Woman gulps nervously.
Wonder Woman whispers, "you and Circe find a way to stop Amphitrite. I'll buy you time."
Wonder Woman puts a comforting hand on Steve. He bittersweetly smiles.
After a bit... Wonder Woman walks by herself into the goddess portal.
A few mortal minutes later, in a watery office...
Wonder Woman tries to assure, "hello Amphitrite. I know it must be a difficult time for you. How are you holding up?"
Getting teary eyed... Amphitrite very much implies, "thank you, Wonder Woman. But... You don't have to worry about "little watery me" much longer. Faint chuckle. This Aquaman and Wonder Woman movie is going to bring tears of joy to the world."
Getting teary eyed... Wonder Woman says, "Amphitrite... I know what you're planning to do with this reality warping movie. But... If you bring Poseidon back from destruction? Hard sniffle. You'll reverse his last god wish and let Rhinegold threaten all Earths again. Do you really want to go against Poseidon's last wish?"
With a warning glare... Amphitrite reflects, "Poseidon showed he can be a good god after all. He just had to face his own reflection first. Hard sniffle. I'm helping the Rhine Maidens protect the oceans and Atlantis! Don't get in my way."
Wonder Woman somberly suggests, "I don't want to fight you, Amphitrite. But... Heavy sigh. Poseidon has bullied you, the Rhine Maidens, and Atlanteans many times in the past. I... Hard sniffle. I hope you're prepared to fight if you have to."
She puts a somewhat comforting hand on Amphitrite's.
Amphitrite somewhat shakily nods. She bittersweetly smiles.
Amphitrite concludes, "thank you for being my friend, Wonder Woman. But... Don't worry: The Rhine Maidens are like my big sisters. They'll fight to protect me."
On the first part? A few tears fall from Wonder Woman's face.
Wonder Woman somewhat shakily nods toward Amphitrite.
Amphitrite plans out, "good. We have over a hour until the Sirens come. They're going to come out of the water fountain in the last scene of the movie and bring back Poseidon for me. Do you want a private screening of the Aquaman and Wonder Woman movie?"
Wonder Woman just says, "yes. I'd like that."
Amphitrite casually leads Wonder Woman by the hand through a watery door.
Amphitrite concludes, "you're welcome. I confess. The representative for Paradise Island gave me some lovely ideas for toughening up the Amazons. Something about shaking a spear or two?"
Wonder Woman thinks to herself, "ohh...good gods! ! Amphitrite, Shakespeare, and Cadmus? Heavy sigh. This is going to be more painful than watching the infamous season one finale to Circe of Nemesises with Donna Troy. The show's take on Circe turns out to be a goddess Silver Banshee all along pulling most of the strings and causing mass destruction...just because she wants to court the super cliché secret agent Nemesis! !"
She and Amphitrite are now in a watery movie studio with watery cameras and floating orbs of bright blue lights.
A woman with medium dark brown hair is sitting in a dark blue director's chair. She has blue jeans, a gold rimmed digital watch, and a open purple jacket over light red.
With a smile... She introduces herself, "well... This is a really surprise to find you here. Hello Wonder Woman. I'm Alana Dominguez: Representative of Paradise Island."
Alana Dominguez shakes hands with Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman just says hello.
Amphitrite is talking with a annoyed tone to actors for the Aquaman and Wonder Woman movie.
Alana Dominquez tries to assure Wonder Woman, "I understand why you'd be nervous around me. I'm best friends with Amanda Waller, and she has many enemies. I don't blame you for being angry with her. But... There's a side to her you may not know."
Wonder Woman says, "I'm listening."
Alana Dominquez somewhat nervously explains, "I...was bullied in high school for having braces and glasses and being a fantasy geek. Amanda Waller went to the same high school as me. She wiped the floor with my bullies without asking for anything in return. Faint chuckle. I know she has a dark side. But, I'll always be grateful to her. I've worked as her administrative assistant for years. I'm a big fan of yours too. I know deep down you both have good hearts."
She puts somewhat comforting hands on one of Wonder Woman's.
And... Alana Dominquez whispers, "I'll never stop you from doing what is right. Just please don't tell Amanda Waller."
Wonder Woman bittersweetly smiles wide at that.
Wonder Woman sincerely says, "thank you very much, Alana. You're really not that bad after all." Alana Dominquez adds, "you're welcome."
Then... Amphitrite shows Wonder Woman the ongoing camera recordings for the Aquaman and Wonder Woman movie.
Flashes go by: Of a Aquaman and a second Wonder Woman winning their titles in a game with fighting electrically charged squid, of Aquaman being scolded by Mera for flirting with both her and the second Wonder Woman at Aquaman's house party, of the second Wonder Woman's and Aquaman's silhouette heads blending as one, of a jealous Mera and several more Atlantean fighters trying to magically send ocean waves to sink Themiscrya to the ocean floor, of the second Wonder Woman and Aquaman rallying their forces to fight back against Mera and save Themiscrya in time, of a jealous Ocean Master trying to kidnap the second Wonder Woman for himself with a waterproof electric lasso, of Ocean Master accidentally destroying himself and Mera's destruction when his electric lasso catches Mera...and of the second Wonder Woman's house party with Atlanteans and Amazons.
By the middle part? Wonder Woman is frustratedly sighing to herself.
On the last scene of the Aquaman and Wonder Woman movie... Wonder Woman calls out, "now!"
She also points to the water fountain.
Circe is getting two of her garden hose styled goddess lassoes around the water fountain.
And... The just appearing Sirens get tied up in her goddess lassoes.
At the same time... Amphitrite and the Sirens cry out, "no! !"
Steve hits Amphitrite hard with one of her own watery cameras.
The electrical sparks from the then dissipating watery camera takes her out by surprise.
With a smirk... Steve kind of sarcastically remarks, "sorry Amphitrite. But, this reality warping production is cut for time and saving lives."
With a wide smile... Wonder Woman lightly says, "good job, Steve!"
They're hugging each other close.
Steve figures, "anything for you, Angel."
Suddenly... Circe calls out, "Diana, Steve... Could use a little help! !"
The Sirens have torn the goddess lassoes around them to pieces.
They are sending watery eel-jellyfish hybrids and watery scorpions after Circe. Circe is sending gas pump hybrid sharks and electrical power line hybrid octopuses after the Sirens.
Wonder Woman calls out, "I'm coming, Circe! Steve? I'll be right back."
Wonder Woman pulls away from Steve to get out her golden lasso.
She gets her golden lasso around a floating orb of light. She's swinging toward Circe.
But... Some of the watery eel-jellyfish hybrids fire lightning into Circe.
She is falling unconscious.
Teary eyed... Wonder Woman worriedly cries out, "Circe! !"
She catches Circe's unconscious body. She tumble lands to the watery ground.
And... The Sirens are singing, "swimming with the sharks... Their beauty can't be denied... They'll all look so happy to see you. But, don't get fooled. Creatures of the deep wave you closer. But, they all got jaws and beaks of danger. Keep a eye on the oceans... Promise me you'll keep out of range... You can swim on by. But, they'll get angry if you get too close."
They're merging their watery arms with the water fountain. Poseidon's god body is being slowly but surely restored through the water fountain.
With Amphitrite's goddess wish before falling unconscious? She has transformed her whole movie studio into a giant goddess water ball to hurl through time and space.
It is heading towards ancient Greece...at a time when the first Amazons first called for women's rights.
Steve and Wonder Woman look wide eyed in shock. They're seeing ancient Greece getting closer and closer through the waters of the giant goddess water ball.
And... The Sirens are sending all the watery creature forces after Steve and Wonder Woman.
Getting teary eyed... Steve thinks out loud, "oh damn! ! We're fresh out of goddess lifelines right now, and we're about to become ancient history. You got any ideas?"
With a bittersweet smile... Wonder Woman brings up, "I have a backup plan. Nightshade... Now would be a good time!"
It turns out Wonder Woman told Nightshade in advance of her and Steve's plans to go to EverBlue Rhine Springs today. The present Nightshade has been keeping a magic link open on Wonder Woman's portable magic mirror as soon as Wonder Woman set foot on EverBlue Rhine Springs.
Many shadowy portals open up.
A familiar looking goddess lasso comes out of one of them. It gets around the water fountain to seal it up.
A rapidly fluctuating Poseidon cries out in mental overload. His god image fades away.
The Sirens keep singing, "keep a eye on the oceans... They'll all look so happy to see you. But, don't get fooled... Don't get fooled... Midnight snack out of squid, side fries out of clams... Their hunger knows no bounds. Creatures of the deep wave you closer. But, they all got jaws and beaks of danger."
Aphrodite uses her goddess powers to kind of slowly restore Circe.
Nightshade and her Mannishade forces are charging into battle for the watery creature forces. Steve and Wonder Woman are each carrying a part of Wonder Woman's golden lasso while charging for the Sirens.
Suddenly... The floating orbs of light go out.
And... Just as quick... Plenty of rays of bright red light dance around Aphrodite.
Aphrodite is sitting at a silvery piano with bright red hearts. She is wearing a silvery gown and a ruby necklace.
With a wide smile... Aphrodite sings, "whether you're from the oceans or from land... Love is in all creatures. We all have hearts. We all have boundaries bittersweet and fair. Is it really so hard to believe we all have it in us to love?"
At the same time... She is playing disco rock instrumentals on the piano.
Her rays of goddess light converge together into a goddess magic mirror around the Sirens.
The Sirens are struggling to pull themselves out of the magic mirror. Their singing becomes distorted bubbles.
The watery creature forces fall back in confusion. Nightshade and her Mannishade forces pause in confusion.
Aphrodite goes on, "we all have eyes to see. We all have ears to hear. You just have to have courage to ask and find out if they really are happy to have you close. I still believe in love in us all!"
The Sirens cry out in mental overload. They're pulled away through the magic mirror.
The watery creature forces are heading in the direction of Aphrodite's singing. Nightshade, several more of the Mannishade fighters, Wonder Woman, Alana Dominguez, and the Aquaman and Wonder Woman movie actors laugh in near disbelief at the sight before them.
The teariness in Wonder Woman's and Steve's eyes is starting to dry up. Wonder Woman has put her golden lasso away.
And... The Muses of Nine and Circe appear in a circle.
They're using a rainbow of goddess lassos to carry the giant goddess water ball away just before it can crash land into ancient Greece. They're carrying it back to the present.
One by one... The Muses of Nine are singing, "we all have joys... We all have hardships... We eat, drink, and breathe. We have memories... Nightmares... Fantasies... We all have emotions and motions to get us through day by day. Is it really so hard to believe... To believe we all have it in us to love?"
The giant goddess water ball lands safely by the shores of New Atlantis.
The Rhine Maidens and the Muses of Nine are all play fighting with the watery creature forces. They're all smiling wide.
Some of the electrical power line hybrid octopuses are hugging Aphrodite and Circe close. They hug them back. No lightning blasts.
Wonder Woman reflects, "wow. Steve? I... I don't know whether to be scared or happy right now. Those are the Muses of Nine up there with Circe and Aphrodite!"
With a smile... Steve assures, "I know, angel. But... I think they just proved they're good goddesses after all."
He puts a comforting hand on Wonder Woman's.
With a faint smile... Wonder Woman adds, "yeah. I think you're right."
Aphrodite and Circe pull away some from electrical power line hybrid octopuses. They're smiling wide.
And... Aphrodite, The Rhine Maidens, and The Muses of Nine sing, "we all have hearts. We all have boundaries bittersweet and fair. Is it really so hard to believe... To believe we all have it in us to love? We all have eyes to see. We all have ears to hear. I still believe in love in us all!"
Everyone else is clapping and cheering.
And... In the skies over New Atlantis... The Three Fates and the Astraea Cycle pantheon of gods and goddesses are smiling wide in a knowing way.
