*Kara's POV*

I was walking around on Krypton looking around. I had always been an odd ball. I fit in with most of the guilds, heck, I had a basic understanding of most of the guilds by the time I was 4. I was heading down an area that I never saw before. Something was down this way, something that was calling out. I went down the alleyway, making sure that no one saw me.

I stopped when I heard a snarl. I looked over to see that there was a small dragon sitting under a piece of scrap that was being held up by the wall. It was injured and so I calmly reached for it. Cooing softly at it so that it would relax. It sniffed me. Then I took it with me, hiding it under my cloak. I made my way back to my room and quickly patched the little guy up. I had to make it fast as mom and dad were coming home soon.

As soon as the little guy was patched up, I took him to the port where I talked with the captain. The little dragon made its way onto the ship and soon it was off. Then a couple days later I heard a voice in my head.

"Thank you young one for helping me. You have gained what most never do. As the Queen, I bestow upon you the powers that are of a dragon. You are worthy of the title Dragon Friend."

I was polite and told the voice that I was being me. The voice seemed shocked.

"Please, as long as you are within range, you will be able to contact me in times of need. And because of my connections, my dearest friend is also in your debt."

I accepted it as I knew I had no other choice. Ever since, I'd play with the dragons when I had time. I basically grew up with the princess of the dragon nest on Krypton. At least until the fateful day of Krypton exploding.

-Present Day-

*Alex's POV*

There was something about Kara. The fact was that she was incredible with animals. More specifically snakes and reptiles. I remember going to zoo's and she'd be found near the reptilian enclosures observing the animals. Heck, all of the reptiles loved her. Once she got the hang of her powers and toned down a little, she got a job with our local zoo to take care of the reptiles.

She even managed to get the reptiles who were the pickiest of eaters to eat whatever she had given them. Heck they wouldn't even eat the same thing from someone else that would give the same thing. It was as if the reptiles had a favorite person. I can't blame the reptiles though because Kara is the best. She more than made up for those bullies at school who were once my friends. I used to care what others thought of me, but all that flew out the window when Kara came into my life and the proud look in her eye. Ever since she arrived that fateful day, I found myself loving her as a sister.

I knew I was a bit of a recluse but Kara drew me into her wonderfulness and ever since, I would rain down hell on whoever hurt her. Same with her. Actually, I was the reason why Kara got into the very first fight with mom. I had gotten sick and Kara had absolutely refused to leave my side until I was better.

She also gave the best of hugs. Most people just hugged with arms or without much force, but Kara's hugs just made you feel warm. She wrapped her whole body around you and hugged with everything she's got. She was my lifeline when dad died. I hurled insult after insult at her but all she did was hold me tight until I cooled down. So nowadays, whenever I felt anxious or upset in general, Kara would wrap me in her arms until I calmed down.

It continued into adulthood. From the get go, I told Kara about the DEO. I told her I worked for them, not my missions and she understood that, and she accepted it. I didn't care if the DEO was secretive. I knew Kara could hold a secret. I knew because I always felt that she hasn't told me everything about her life on Krypton. I always came home to Kara smiling at me and patching me up. Due to her natural temperature being higher than that of a humans, she was basically a personal heater, which meant her hands were warm. It also meant that whenever she did back rubs and massages, her hands soothed the muscles.

It was always whenever we were completely alone. She would use a slight freeze breath on my sore muscles then warm them up with her heavenly massages. When she became known to the world as Supergirl, nothing changed between us. I told her about Kryptonite as soon as I found out about it. When she became Supergirl we became partners. Duh. We were nerds of the highest order. She tackled the electronic type stuff and I handled hand to hand stuff. I trained her in what I knew and she trained me in technology stuff.

For a gift, she had given me my most favorite weapon of all. She gave me a roulette of sorts. It was a circular device that clipped to my hip and whatever I needed at the moment, I could grab it and it would turn into said weapon. And so in return, I gave her the hologram I found in her ship.

It was when one of our teams came back from taking care of an alien attacking a village with it in chains that Kara had flipped out.

"Let it go." Kara said loudly and firmly.

The team looked at her and Agent Rose stepped forward.

"Supergirl, this thing was attacking a village. It must be held here." he said.

Kara growled low at him, "Let. It. Go."

Then the thing made a noise. One that drew Kara's attention as she walked over to it. She placed a hand on its head. It whined a little and Kara's form stiffened.

"Was there anything else?" she asked.

"Yes, there was a nest. It was obvious something was in it but it was gone long before we had gotten there." one of the other agents said.

Kara turned to the thing and made a noise in the back of her throat. The thing growled back at her.

"Supergirl. What is it?" I asked.

Kara turned to me, "The agents made a mistake."

"How? It was attacking the village for no reason." Agent Rose said.

Kara stepped closer to Rose, "Oh, there was a reason. One that I wouldn't expect you to ever understand. Mole."

I was confused as to why Kara was accusing Rose of being a mole when he sneered at her.

"The monsters don't belong here. They never did." he said.

He got flung into a wall by the tail of the beast he brought in.

"Lyka. Enough." Kara said loudly.

The being stopped and got out of the bindings it was in. Then it tackled Kara in a hug.

"Hello my dear. We'll get her back, don't worry." Kara said.

"Supergirl, who is this?" I asked.

"Agent Danvers, meet a friend of mine. This is Lyka and she is a dragon. She is from the colony that has settled on this planet. Lyka, this is my kin. Alexandra Danvers." Kara said.

The now named Lyka held out her tail. I touched it and she gave a toothy grin. Unfortunately, the sweet moment was interrupted by Rose's laughter.

"You'll never find it. The egg is somewhere highly guarded. They will find a way to make it there's" Rose cackled.

I watched as Kara's blue eyes slit like a dragons.

"We shall see." she hissed.

Then she took off with Lyka on her heels. True to Kara's word, they did find it. When Kara came back, she looked satisfied. Kara looked at me with a beaming smile.

"Those bastards won't think about taking a dragon egg anymore. Hell, they wouldn't even be able to get it to hatch. Dragon eggs only hatch when the time is right and someone nearby is trustworthy." Kara said.

We sat down that night and she regaled me with the story of how she found a dragon and how she helped it off world. How she helped it get to safety despite her planets harsh rules on 'outsiders'. I found the reason why she was so good with animals at least. Who knew she did things like that.
