AN: Hello ladies and gents, the one you've all been waiting for...a sequel to Kelex Corps. I've had this one in the works for a while. I knew how to start it but it wasn't until tonight that I figured out how to end it. Hope you enjoy. ~Immortalshark
*Maggie's POV*
I had been assigned to National City's Police Department for a year now because I was the alien specialist. What better spot to be in than the home to the US's largest alien population? And National City is also home to the world's most known tech company, Kelex Corps. Rumors say the corporation just appeared with no background though over time those rumors were proven incorrect. Kelex Corps was a worldwide mystery; the technology was heavily advanced and is the place where aliens and humans worked in harmony to create said technology. People knew that aliens were apart of the technology because of the leaps and bounds ahead of the Earth's.
Currently, there were only five known people that run the company and two unknowns. I'm talking about the five Grand Masters and then the CEO and CFO. Up until a couple months ago, people simply referred to the Grand Masters by the type of job they seemed to hold within the company. Then one by one, each Grand Master revealed their identity. The first of the Grand Master's to reveal their identity was Diana Prince, the Grand Master of the Gods, and attributed to wearing a suit with the Greek letters Alpha and Omega and gold accents. The uproar was ginormous because Diana Prince had been in hiding for years. Then the second reveal was that of the Grand Master of Information, Cat Grant, associated with a suit that has a pen and quill with blue accents. The uproar led to Cat Grant's questioning of loyalty to her own Corporation, Cat Co. However she said that CatCo is still unbiased and is still telling the true stories. Next was the Grand Master's of Security and Protection. They were revealed to be Kate Kane and Bruce Wayne. Basically two more heavy hitters. It wasn't until the uproar against the Luthor name, claiming that all Luthor's were alien haters, that the last of the Grand Masters were revealed. The Grand Master of Science, associated with a suit that has an alchemy symbol on the chest and had Irish green accents, was revealed as Lena Luthor. The absolute chaos that followed had abruptly died off as people realized that Lena Luthor was working with aliens and those aliens were happy to work with her.
Then the two unknowns, the mysteries of the company. The CEO and CFO both had titles. They were sometimes known as the Twin Commanders when referencing both of them, but when you were talking about one of them is where it got interesting. The CFO was known as the Commander of Shadows, or simply the Shadow. The one who works in the dark and isn't heard about until someone threatens the CEO. The CEO was known as the Commander of Light, or the Queen. The one commonality between the suits was the emblem similar to that of Superman's. Up until the major fight between the CEO and Superman, people thought that Kelex Corps was in support of Superman. Some still thought that, but the reveal of Supergirl squashed those thoughts as the emblem was the same.
Now back to the fun stuff, I had been called in because the police found evidence that there was an alien involved. I was taking samples when someone came over.
"Hey, what are you doing?" the voice said.
I was annoyed, "Anyone tell you all you Feds sound the same? It's like you all watch the same bad movies together at Quantico."
I looked up to see a hot woman standing there.
"Who are you?" she asked.
Ah come on Sawyer, don't let your brain win.
"Detective Maggie Sawyer, NCPO Science Division. We handle all cases involving aliens and things that go bump in the night." I pulled out my badge to show her, "I showed you mine, now show me yours."
"Alex Danvers, Secret Service. I'm sure you mean well but this is a federal crime scene." she said.
Damn, Blondie was right and my brain just jumped off the cliff. I couldn't help riling her up.
"I thought Secret Service would pay more attention to evidence." I said.
"We have technology that makes your City PD lab look like an easy bake oven." she said.
"And us dumb cops would never deduce that the assailant was either Kryptonian or Infernian." I said.
"Infernian." a new but familiar voice said.
"And how would you know that?" I asked.
"Oh I think I'm more than qualified Margret." she said.
I looked up to see a very familiar person.
"Blondie?" I asked.
"I knew you'd recognize me Sawyer." she said.
"Good to see ya kiddo. You were right, your sis is hot as hell." I said.
She chuckled and I began to tell the two about the case. It felt like I had only blinked before realizing that the case was solved. Which I wasn't complaining about since I got to ask Alex out. The only sort of problem was the fact that Alex seemed to always be at Supergirl's side or vice versa. It was annoying up until Supergirl was off world and Alex absolutely lost her shit. I figured out that Kara and Supergirl were one in the same because there was only one person that Alex would flip out over, and that was her sister. I knew that their bond ran deep, much deeper than any relationship I have ever seen including married couples. It wasn't until Alex was kidnapped that I realized how deep. Kara was Alex's anchor and Alex was Kara's. Kara Danvers left the building and a different, colder side was in her place. I wasn't dealing with Kara Danvers this time, I was dealing with Kara Zor-El. I about released a murderer but Kara stopped me. We found Alex through Kara honing in on Alex's signal.
"I knew that thing would come in handy." Kara muttered with a grin that was a little unhinged.
She took off at a much much faster speed than anyone knew she was capable of. I followed her and when I got there, it was just on time to see Kara shatter the glass around Alex before she turned her attention to Rick. Kara…Kara was different as she held no mercy. Rick was conscious and Kara held him.
"I think Alex has something to say. Don't you?" Kara said.
"Yes. You know who we are now don't you?" Alex said.
I was shocked because Alex had to be in that tank for at least an hour, about twenty minutes of that submerged in water.
"No. The Shadow. If you're the Shadow…" Rick was stuttering.
Alex then kicked him and he was KO'ed. Shit, I looked between Kara and Alex and everything fell into place. The insane technology Alex had access too. I thought that was just her investing in the company. I thought that both were either fans of the company and it's technology or something. Then I thought about their names, Kara and Alex, when you put them together you get…Kelex….and the CFO and the CEO of the company were joined at the hip. More Co-CEO's than CEO and CFO. I didn't say anything until we got Alex back home and Rick's mind was wiped by J'onn. Kara and Alex sat down with me. I didn't mind that Kara was here for this because Alex wanted her here.
"Maggie, I…I'm sorry that I didn't tell you. I wanted someone to see me. Past my reputation. I…I have my reputation as the Shadow as well as being a government agent. You were the one person that despite me not telling you much of anything, you still were willing to let it go and be with me. You were the one person that never minded when I told you that I couldn't tell you what I was doing that day." Alex said.
"Alex, all this means is that I know a part of you that is absolutely nerdy." I said with a smile.
Kara just smiled.
I turned to her, "So I guess this means that you are the CEO?"
Kara looked to Alex and Alex sighed.
"Maggie, how is your hand feeling?" she said.
"It's fine why?" I asked.
"Uh, well, in order to actually know about our true abilities and who we are. You know the NDA you had to sign for the DEO?" Alex said.
My hand hurt just thinking about that, "Just get on with it Alex." I said.
"Well, that is just the base NDA for us. That's not even considering the technology and the inventions." Alex said with a sheepish grin.
"Hey, be thankful that it is as short as it is. If it were up to me, it would be a lot longer all things considered. Though a majority of the papers is all alien languages." Kara said.
I just gave a long sigh. Good job Sawyer, you just had to go for the one person that could kill you and leave absolutely no evidence or trace of you. Just great. Be a detective they said. It'd be fun they said. If not for the great pay as one of the only detectives who deals with the crazy out of this world related cases I'd be going to my chief demanding a refund.
*Alex's POV*
I enjoyed being around Maggie. She knew about Kara's and I's positions as the CEO's of Kelex Corps. I enjoyed the pale shade Maggie turned when she realized how thick the NDA's were. I caught her subtly roll her wrist just from the sight of the thing. It was a lot but it was necessary. Lena was impressed that Kara did the impossible and actually weeded out the Cadmus operatives from L-Corps. My relationship with my mother however was decent but the corporation was the biggest secret I have held. I've told her about the DEO only because dad was an operative. Today was a day Kara and I were at the Corporation to see how things were running and just have fun getting into whatever we were creating.
"Kara, could you come here for a moment please." I said softly knowing she could hear me from her office.
A few minutes later Kara came in.
"Alex." she said.
I smiled, "Hey sis."
"What do you need?" she asked.
"Well, since Thanksgiving is coming, I was wondering if we should tell mom about this place. I mean it wouldn't be too bad since she has actually bought some of our products." I said.
Kara sighed, "Okay. Is that all we are roping her in on?"
"For now." I said.
"Ah, you would like to bring her in for medicinal purposes don't you. Modifying alien medicines to make it easier for people to live." Kara smirked.
I gave her a sheepish look because that was where I was heading next. Kara gave me a smile.
"Okay. Let me call the rest of them to see how they feel, then I'll bring it up to the department heads and see what they think about it. If they agree, then we can see about bringing Eliza in. If not, you'll have to settle on her simply knowing we are the CEO's." Kara said.
"Okay." I was fine with that.
So Kara called Lena, Cat, Bruce, Kate, and Diana, to ask whether or not our mom could be brought in. They agreed rather quickly as it would be a good idea to have a head of medicine. I sent a blast email, marking it as respond within the day important, to the department heads to add a head of medicine. I got emails from most of them saying it's a great idea and so we got the okay from everyone. Unfortunately that was the easy part. The hard part was getting mom to agree, though it shouldn't be too hard considering that mom would want to be closer to me and Kara anyway. We'd keep the Midvale house as a getaway house or vacation house.
This Thanksgiving, Kara and I got away and were able to go visit her out in Midvale. Kara drove this time because it gave me time to think about how we were going to drop the bomb that Kara and I are one of the wealthiest and strongest organizations in the world. Kara seemed to pick up on my anxiety of telling mom and put her hand on my leg. She always knew what I needed before I even knew, I focused on her warm hand on my leg and felt a wave of calm come over me. She pushed a button that made the car smell really nice. I knew what she was doing and I let it happen, I let the calm and relaxing smell of jasmine, gardenia, and rain mixed and fell asleep. When I woke up, we were at our house in Midvale. I don't think mom saw us just yet so Kara and I unloaded the car. Not that we packed much. I knocked on the door since Kara grabbed all the bags. Did we mention that it was a Thanksgiving surprise? Mom opened the door with a forced grin, one that I knew meant she was tired, that quickly changed when she saw us. I braced myself as mom came barreling into both of us.
"Oh girls. I thought you'd be in National City." mom said once we were in the house.
"We thought we'd surprise you. Plus we have some news as well." I said.
"It's a nice surprise. It's so good to have my girls home again." mom said as she went about putting dinner together.
Kara piped in for the first time since we've been on the trip, "Eliza, Alex and I came with news."
Mom stopped her movements, "Is it news that can wait till after dinner?"
Kara and I looked at each other.
"Eh, might as well. Full stomach." I said.
Kara shrugged, "Ok. It can wait."
Mom made an easy dinner, which was expected since Kara and I did kinda drop in unannounced. Once dinner was finished and we all had our after dinner drinks, we moved to the living room.
"Mom, you are aware of Kelex Corps right?" Kara said.
"How could I not? I even have some of their tech. It also doesn't hurt that they've got some powerful leads with the Five Grand Masters and the two Commanders." mom said. "It was quite a show when the Five Grand Master's revealed their identities. Reporters had a field day with it and tried to get the two Commanders to reveal their identities as well but not wanting to risk people's ire for the company providing a source of technology for the poorer side of people. Their basic computers are made available to those with lower incomes so that they have access where as their higher tech computers are bought by corporations."
"Before we continue, we're going to have to have you sign this." Kara said as she pulled out the basic NDA for both of our identities as we weren't going to reveal them anytime soon.
Mom looked at us skeptically but read and signed it. I think she really just wants to know what this is about.
"Okay, well, mom. Kara and I are the CEO's of Kelex Corps." I said.
Mom looked shocked, "What?!"
Kara nodded, "Yeah, because Kent wanted me to hide who I was. He wanted me to hide because he thought I'd be in danger. I realized pretty quickly that it was because he didn't want competition. Around the time Alex and I wanted to graduate high school early, we came up with the idea of Kelex Corps. If I couldn't be a hero, I'd be one another way. I used my technology and with Alex's help, we built Kelex Corps. We kept silent for two years as Alex and I worked on college degrees. During those two years of silence, Alex had come across Bruce and Diana in college while I came across Cat, Lena, and Kate. We felt they'd be great people to partner with and they agreed."
"So, you're telling me that you two are the Twin Commanders?" mom said.
"Yes." I was amused.
It wasn't every day that Kara and I could surprise her.
"Can you guess who's who?" Kara asked.
Mom smiled, "Alex is the shadow and you're the light."
"Now, we've had a spot in the workings for a while now and till now we just haven't really thought much of it." Kara said.
"Okay?" mom said.
"We've been looking for a Grand Master of Medicine." I said.
Kara and I remained silent to see if mom could find out what we were asking. It didn't take her long. Her eyes sparkled in happiness and excitement.
"I'd get to work with you?" mom said.
Kara nodded, "Yes. At the base level, you'd be considered Lena's CFO for hospitals. At the corporate level, you'd be working with me and whoever you choose to be your department heads to come up with methods of using alien medicine for the benefit of everyone. Earth has become a refuge to aliens coming from wartorn and sometimes completely destroyed worlds looking for a new place to start. As a requirement, there will be two department heads, a human and one species of alien. All workers of ours have telecommunicators so that they can communicate without a language barrier. The Grand Masters take what I would like to do and refer them down to their department heads to make happen in cases of emergencies. Otherwise the Grand Masters are free to do what they wish. They all run their own corporations."
Mom was incredibly happy, "Where do I sign?"
Kara and I smiled. Mom signed all the papers and once completed, Kara put them in a safe interdimensional pocket. I told mom about the telecommunicator and gave it to her. We put it just behind the ear, and then cloaked it. Kara tested it by saying something in Kryptonian and mom smiled.
"Oh Kara." and mom tackled Kara in a hug.
So with that taken care of, we went to bed. The next morning Kara and I gave mom the run down of what will happen. It won't be until the next year, so January, that we would announce the newest member of the grand masters. Mom was fine with that because Kara was going to make her an outfit that disguised any recognizable feature.
"The outfit is only for extremely formal events. I made another outfit for semiformal events where you don't want your identity revealed. The others have gotten modified ones because the public already know who they are. But when we are dealing with off world customers, we put on the suits that make us undefineable other than the fact that the house of El is in charge." Kara said.
Mom agreed and over the course of December, using Christmas as a break and a way for Kara and I to check in with our mom. Mom got acclimated to being a Grand Master and what it entails. Kara and I were planning on a way to announce the new Grand Master.
"Alex, would it be more fun if people found out about our newest addition just like the other Grand Masters." Kara said.
"Hmm, it's an idea but I was thinking more along the lines of when the next time we display the Grand Masters, we just have one more. Make them guess. Basically have a showing of the lineup." I said.
Kara grinned, "That's why you're the best."
So we texted it out to the corporation that we'll have a reveal in January to introduce mom to the public. And throughout all this plotting and brainstorming, I started liking Maggie. Kara, being the best sister, she was the first person I told. I had called Kara over to talk and I stalled. I was trying to prolong this but Kara needed to know. Next I knew, Kara was in front of me with a hand on my face and an arm around my waist. I sighed in comfort as my brain finally got itself together and I told her. I told Kara that I liked Maggie. I told her and realized that I was in deep. Kara gave me that damned smile in her way of calming me down.
"Lexie, it's okay. If you like her, go get her." Kara said.
And that was what kickstarted me to ask Maggie out. I got dressed somewhat nicely and headed for the bar where I knew she'd be. I saw her setting a pool table and made my way over. I hesitantly asked her out and we started dating.
*Third Person POV*
So over the years, Kelex Corps became one of the most powerful corporations on Earth. Some humans thought that the Grand Master titles were going to be family lineages as Diana had stepped down for her daughter to take her place as did Cat with her son Carter. That was not the case for either Kate Kane or Bruce Wayne. Their successors just so happened to be sisters, Sarah and Laura Lance, Sarah being a former member of the League of Assassins and Laura being the Chief of Police for years. Humans, were the main cause of the troubles, trying to usurp one another's chances of being a member of the company. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on who you ask, thorough background checks were conducted on every member of the corporation. Including their alien counterparts. Some years the Grand Masters were revealed, but some none were ever revealed at least until the Grand Masters either stepped down or someone took their place. However, those who knew who the Twin Commanders took their true identities to their graves. No one knew who the identities were of the Twin Commanders. They knew that they were scary beings that one knew to never cross. They were polite to those who declined their services, help whatever they had to offer, but heaven help those who wish to try and take the corporation down. Another position that was well known but the identity was unknown to everyone but the Twin Commanders, were their second in command. The second in command position was never revealed but one day it was filled. The second in command had gained the name of the Phoenix.
Kara and Alex had become partners because of their tight knit bond and the way they knew each other explicitly. It wasn't until Kelex Corps really became big that Astra had revealed herself. Astra was never apart of Non's plan, even though he was her husband, to take over Earth. Astra somehow knew Kara still had the beacon and called Kara. Kara and Astra talked and reconnected. Kara introduced Astra to Alex and from there Kelex Corps grew stronger. Astra became known as the Phoenix. Earth never became unstable and up until recent years, home planets have ended their wars and rebuilding. The inhabitants of those planets, who were employees at Kelex Corps, known as the Interplanetary Center across the universe, went home. They rebuilt their planets and became department heads for the Center on their planets. So now Kelex Corps now had a building on most planets that were once hostile. Across the galaxy, those centers flew the Concord Glyph, providing safety and refuge to all who fall under the sign. Earth was learning the meaning of the glyph rather quickly. Unfortunately, Lex and Lillian Luthor, who tried to defile the glyph by attacking the aliens under it found out the hard way. Lena, due to her relationship with Kara, had known the meaning of the glyph and stayed far away from the two. She had been used to humans blaming her for her family's actions that it was nice when the aliens who sought to capture those who had defiled the glyph never looked at her. She was thinking that because she had the last name, she would be roped into the punishment, but she wasn't. Other Earthlings found out that that glyph was a symbol of peace, a place where even enemies could go relax in peace.
AN: Hope y'all enjoyed. I quite liked writing the ending.
Please put any suggestions of oneshots in it's designated chapter slot. Helps with keeping track of them.
