Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns wasn't bad in terms of its story. However, it left much to be desired. Particularly with the former Sub-Zero, now Noob Saibot, Bi-Han. This hard reboot retells the Mortal Kombat story, focusing on the events of the Original Timeline starting from the tournament and concluding at Armageddon. Featuring a vast cast, including characters from the games, other official media, and original characters, this is the most expansive MK story yet. Lord Raiden, god of thunder and protector of Earthrealm, has betrayed a fatal weakness; one that the nefarious sorcerer Shang Tsung seeks to capitalize upon. A self-insert fic with references to most of the franchise, but inspired specifically by Mortal Kombat 11 featuring Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Shang Tsung, and Todd Dakins/Richard Epcar as Lord Raiden.

Kenshi and Johnny sought a peaceful time together, but Kenshi's turbulent past resurfaced, endangering both their lives. Now, they face a life-or-death situation, navigating through challenges that threaten to test their bond and survival skills.

After many failed attempts at creating a perfectly peaceful timeline Liu-Kang has finally succeeded in creating a timeline in which peace can be achieved by most mortals but as always something will stand in the way of his vision of serenity. This is basically my take on the concept of MK1 but I will try to do better and exclude the whole multiverse thing.
