Part 11: Future Strike

As Einhard joined the fray with renewed strength and determination, the tide of the seemingly hopeless battle began to shift in their favour. Katsumi, Kiddy, Nami, and Yuki fought valiantly, thinning the number of lesser demons that had swarmed them. The cacophony of clashing weapons and demonic roars filled the air, but amidst the chaos, a fierce and coordinated energy bound the team together.

Kiddy, her strikes swift and brutal, grinned fiercely as she took down another demon. "Keep up the pressure, mates! We're winning this!"

"Understood, Kiddy-san," Nami replied politely, her movements graceful as she unleashed precision attacks, taking down foes with calculated efficiency.

"Yuki-san, watch your left!" Einhard called out, spotting a demon attempting to flank the younger girl.

Yuki twirled and dispatched the demon using her telekinetic power. "Thanks, Ein-chan!"

The battlefield raged with unrelenting chaos—a swirling tempest of clashing steel, surging mana, and demonic howls. Amid the storm, Einhard and Katsumi stood resolute, their focus sharpened as they confronted the demon swordsman. The towering figure loomed before them, its dark, malevolent aura rippling like smoke. The cursed blade it wielded shimmered ominously, each swing slicing through the very fabric of the air with lethal precision.

Einhard felt the surge of mana coursing through her veins, an overwhelming power fueled by her recent connection with Ave. The heat of battle merged with the lingering warmth of their kiss, igniting a fire within her that both exhilarated and distracted her. Her lips tingled from the memory, a blush threatening to creep onto her cheeks despite the deadly situation.

"Focus, Ein!" Katsumi's firm voice cut through the din as she deflected a devastating slash from the demon swordsman, sparks erupting from their clashing weapons.

Einhard shook off the haze clouding her mind. "S-Sorry, Katsumi-san!" she stammered, tightening her grip on the battle.

Asteion floated beside her, the plush snow leopard meowing urgently, its expressive gestures urging her to stay sharp. Einhard nodded, her resolve hardening as she charged forward with fists aglow, raw mana crackling around them like lightning.

Katsumi's lips curled into a faint smile despite the chaos. "You've got serious spirit, Ein," she remarked, her sword gleaming as it parried another brutal attack.

"You're amazing too, Katsumi-san," Einhard said between fierce exchanges. "Your swordsmanship—it's on par with Mikaya-san. Maybe even better."

Katsumi's eyes gleamed with amusement. "High praise from someone who fights like a storm herself. Thanks."

Their coordinated attacks pushed the demon swordsman back, forcing it to snarl in defiance. The ground trembled beneath their feet as it unleashed a shockwave of dark energy, scattering debris and shaking the battlefield.

Einhard's heart thudded against her ribcage. The demon's malevolent energy was palpable, pressing down on them like a physical weight. She clenched her fists tighter, determination blazing in her heterochromatic eyes. "I won't back down!" she declared, pouring mana into her next attack.

The demon swordsman retaliated with a vicious flurry of slashes. Einhard dodged and weaved through the storm of blades, each movement guided by instinct and precision. Asteion meowed sharply, signalling an opening. Seizing the moment, Einhard delivered a devastating uppercut that sent the demon swordsman staggering.

Katsumi, maintaining her chant, stole a glance at Einhard. "She's something else," she murmured under her breath, admiration flickering in her eyes before returning to her incantation.

The battlefield crackled with tension, every moment teetering on the edge of victory or ruin.

Suddenly its defiant roar shattered the air. The ground trembled as a surge of dark energy erupted from its form, creating shockwaves that sent rubble flying.

"It's ramping up," Katsumi warned, narrowing her eyes. "I need five minutes to prepare my ultimate spell. Can you hold it off?"

Einhard nodded resolutely, determination burning in her heterochromatic eyes. "Leave it to me." Without hesitation, she charged forward.

Katsumi stepped back, beginning her incantation as Einhard engaged the demon swordsman head-on. Her punches crackled with mana, each strike reverberating through the battlefield.

"You won't win!" Einhard declared fiercely, her voice cutting through the storm of energy.

The demon swordsman snarled, its glowing eyes burning with rage as dark energy crackled along its cursed blade. With newfound ferocity, it unleashed a whirlwind of slashes, each arc cutting through the air with lethal precision. Einhard gritted her teeth, her body tense as she dodged and weaved through the onslaught, sweat slicking her brow. Every near-miss sent a pulse of adrenaline through her veins.

'This power surge... it's like it's feeding off desperation,' Einhard thought, her eyes narrowing. 'I have to keep it away from Katsumi-san, no matter what.'

Asteion meowed sharply, floating beside her with a determined gleam in its beady eyes. Einhard caught the signal—a subtle gap in the demon swordsman's relentless assault. Clenching her fists, she surged forward, mana surging through her arms. The crackling energy wrapped around her knuckles like lightning.

"You won't get past me!" she roared, delivering a crushing hook to the demon's midsection. The impact reverberated through the battlefield, sending the creature staggering back once again with a guttural snarl.

Asteion circled around her, meowing insistently as the demon regained its footing. "I know, Tio," Einhard muttered under her breath, stealing a glance at Katsumi, who was deep in her ritual preparation. 'I just need to hold out a bit longer.'

The demon swordsman roared in defiance, its aura flaring with malevolent energy. It charged again, blade slashing wildly. Einhard braced herself, focusing on defense. Her movements were swift, almost fluid, as she parried the strikes with precision. Each impact jarred her arms, but she refused to yield.

'This is nothing compared to the training I endured back home. Vivio-san wouldn't forgive me if I faltered now,' she reminded herself, gritting her teeth.

As the demon's blade descended in a devastating arc, Einhard spun to the side, narrowly avoiding the strike. Mana coalesced around her fist once more. "This ends now!" she shouted, pouring all her strength into a powerful uppercut that caught the demon swordsman under the chin, lifting it off the ground before it crashed back down.

Asteion meowed triumphantly as Einhard stood her ground, breathing heavily but resolute. 'I've done my part—now it's up to you, Katsumi-san.'

Meanwhile, Ave piloted the Astraea II with unmatched focus, manoeuvring the massive mecha with seamless precision as it soared through the chaos of the battlefield. Both GN Drives hummed, leaving glowing trails as he zipped across the skies, surveying the horde of demons below. The GN Sword in his grasp glinted ominously, slicing through enemies with ruthless efficiency, each swipe leaving arcs of crackling energy in its wake.

Ave's grip on the controls was firm, his eyes narrowed in fierce determination. His pulse synced with the rhythm of the Astraea II's systems, making pilot and machine one seamless entity. Demons lunged at him, their gnashing maws and jagged claws glinting in the harsh battlefield light. Ave spun the Astraea II into a spiralling dive, weaving through the onslaught as he cleaved a path of destruction.

A skeletal behemoth, covered in writhing tendrils, loomed ahead, dark ichor dripping from its malformed limbs. "You'll regret standing in my way," Ave muttered under his breath. He revved Astraea II's GN Drives to full capacity. With a sudden burst of speed, he cleaved through the demon's grotesque frame with its GN Sword. The creature disintegrating into ash and sparks.

"This is Assault Seven—zone three is clear," he reported through his comms, voice steady despite the storm of violence.

The faint crackle of the response was almost drowned by the chaos. "Acknowledged," came Lebia Maverick's commanding tone. "Good work, Astraea II. Keep thinning their ranks."

Ave scanned the battlefield, his heart tightening at the sight of Einhard locked in fierce combat against the demon swordsman. Her every move radiated determination, but the enemy's power had surged to terrifying levels.

Ave clenched his jaw. "I'm counting on you, Haru," he whispered to himself, his grip tightening on the controls. Swallowing his urge to rush to her aid, he focused on his task. Trusting her strength was the best support he could offer now.

The Astraea II roared back into action, its GN Sword carving through the demon horde like a vengeful storm, every strike bringing them closer to victory.

Suddenly a sudden surge of malice enveloped the battlefield, making Ave's sensors scream warnings. He grimaced. "What's this?"

A transmission crackled through his comms. "This is Lebia Maverick, second-in-command of AMP," a calm yet commanding voice announced. "Assault Seven, keep the enemies clustered together. I'll handle the rest."

"What's your plan?" Ave demanded, his tone urgent.

"Trust me, Katsumi, and that courageous girl with the stunning silver-green hair and beautiful mismatched eyes—the one you cherish so dearly." Her words struck a deep chord, leaving Ave momentarily speechless. Before he could gather himself to respond, the transmission abruptly ended.

Trusting her words, Ave focused on gathering the remaining demons into a single cluster. His heart ached to rush to Einhard's side as he noticed the demon swordsman's overwhelming aura. The air around them crackled with dark energy, heavy with palpable tension.

Despite the oppressive force pressing down on her, Einhard held her ground with fierce determination, her fists radiating with raw mana. Her brows were furrowed in steely resolve; sweat trickling down her temple as she matched the demon swordsman's savage assaults.

Each blow she blocked sent vibrations up her arms, but she refused to yield. Her breath came in sharp gasps, but the fire in her heterochromatic eyes never wavered. Seeing her unyielding spirit, Ave clenched his fists, swallowing his instinct to intervene and instead placing his faith entirely in her strength.

Lebia, meanwhile, coordinated complex calculations with her beloved AI trio—Huey, Dewey, and Louie—to assist Katsumi's spell preparation.

The demon swordsman roared, unleashing a torrent of dark energy that shattered the ground beneath them. Einhard gritted her teeth, sweat beading on her brow as she met its relentless assault head-on. Her knuckles ached, but she refused to falter.

"You've pushed me this far... but it's over!" she shouted, pouring every ounce of her mana into her attacks.

Asteion meowed sharply, signalling a sudden shift in the demon's stance. Einhard dodged just in time, her heart pounding.

Five minutes had passed. Katsumi's voice rang out with unwavering authority.

"In front of me Raphael. Behind me, Gabriel. On my right Michael. On my left, Uriel. Five shining stars surrounding my four sides raise flare. Six shining stars shine in the light pillar. Ater malkt va geblar ve deduler lu aurlam! Amen!"

A massive shockwave erupted as her spell obliterated the remaining demons. The battlefield quaked under its power, and a blinding light enveloped the area.

When the blinding light dissipated, a heavy silence enveloped the battlefield. In its wake, the demon swordsman stood as a pitiful remnant of its former might—barely upright, its body riddled with cracks from the immense force it had endured.

Dark ichor seeped from deep gashes across its warped frame, staining the shattered ground beneath its trembling feet. Its once menacing blade, now dulled and fractured, hung limply in its grip, flickering weakly with fading dark energy.

The malevolent glow in its eyes dimmed to mere embers, wavering between fury and defeat as it struggled to remain standing, teetering on the edge of collapse.

Einhard, steeling her resolve amidst the swirling chaos of the battlefield, felt mana surge through every fibre of her being—raw, untamed, and fierce. It was a culmination of her indomitable will and Asteion's precise guidance.

Her heterochromatic eyes blazed with unwavering determination, their glow cutting through the settling dust. She planted her feet firmly into the shattered earth, cracks spiderwebbing beneath her as she harnessed every ounce of power coursing through her.

Time seemed to freeze as the demon swordsman, teetering on the brink of collapse, let out a guttural snarl. The remnants of its dark aura flickered weakly, clinging to a desperate hope of resurgence. But Einhard was already in motion, her aura flaring like a blazing star.

Her voice rang out, fierce and resolute, carrying the weight of her conviction and the promise to protect those she held dear.

"True Hegemon Sky-severing Knuckle!"

A brilliant surge of mana spiralled around her arm, crackling with destructive energy as she launched herself forward. The ground quaked beneath her forceful advance, debris scattering like leaves in a storm. Her knuckles, glowing with condensed power, shattered the very air as she drove her punch directly into the demon's chest.

The impact was cataclysmic—an explosion of blinding light and shockwaves that rippled across the battlefield. The demon's body cracked and splintered, dark ichor erupting from its core. Time slowed as its towering form disintegrated, fragments dissolving into ash carried away by the howling wind.

Einhard landed with a heavy exhale, her stance unwavering despite the strain. The battlefield fell into hushed awe, the echoes of her devastating strike lingering in the charged air.

Asteion meowed triumphantly, floating beside her as Einhard straightened, breathless but victorious. Her fierce gaze never wavered, even as the last remnants of the demon swordsman dissolved into nothingness, marking the end of the fierce struggle.

With a final, devastating blow, she shattered the demon swordsman's defenses, defeating it once and for all.

As the dust settled, Astraea II landed and knelt before Einhard. The cockpit opened, and Ave leaped out, sprinting toward her. Without hesitation, he wrapped her in a tight embrace.

"Haru," he whispered, his voice filled with relief and love.

"Ave-kun," Einhard breathed, her voice trembling. Their eyes met, and in that moment, nothing else mattered. Ave cupped her face gently before capturing her lips in a deep, heartfelt kiss.

Katsumi, Kiddy, Nami, and Yuki watched the scene unfold, awe and admiration written across their faces.

"Well, I'll be," Kiddy drawled with a smirk. "Didn't see that coming."

Nami's eyes sparkled. "It's truly a beautiful sight, isn't it?"

Yuki giggled. "Ein-chan's got herself a prince."

Katsumi smiled softly. "They earned that moment."

As the battlefield fell into a tranquil silence, the bond between Einhard and Ave shone brighter than ever, a beacon of hope amidst the darkness.
