IT ALL HAPPENED IN MOMENTS. The sound was horrendous. The loud screaming of scraping metal filled the air and joined the roar of the earthquake deep from within the earth. It shook the ground furiously as it seemed to relentlessly try and shake off the pestering city from upon its skin.
With her eyes clenched shut, she embraced the cold metal bar of the seat in front of her as if it were her saviour, her hands unwilling to let go making her unable to cover her sensitive immortal ears.
The bus Selene was on spayed sparks wildly as it travelled along on its side and down a slope, it had flipped after hitting a parked vehicle while swerving to avoid panicked people fleeing into the streets.
For the first time in her life, she admitted to herself she was afraid. For not just her own live but also of her unborn child.
Sitting on the metal frame of the bus between the fifth and sixth seats, she opened her eyes briefly to look out the front of the bus only to take in a sharp breath in realisation. The bus was directly in line with a truck that had been abandoned in the street, and she knew there was no hope of the bus coming to a stop before a collision. Jumping from the moving bus, was not an option, getting out would mean climbing out the window above her. If she did and jumped had jumped there would be a too high of a chance of being hit by falling debris or moving obstacles, let alone land on a shaking ground.
Her pregnancy had made things more difficult, and now she was six months along. She was weaker, it was harder to manoeuvre or run, and she had barely managed to escape Death dealers and Lycans. They were relentless in their hunt, she gave them the slip time and time again but this was the last thing she would have thought to take her down.
Too late for choices, the moment had come and gone. The few seconds seemed like an eternity where no one could move; only brace what they could hold to soften the impact. In that last moment she slammed her eyes shut just as the front of the bus collided with the truck, a monstrous crash of metal colliding with metal and she was flung harder against the seat as gravity took over. The seat held only a moment before ripping out of place sending her flinging forward along with everyone else.
She never even knew what she thrown into; she just heard the sound of crumpling metal, the roar of the ground and screaming of her fellow passengers.
It was the last thing she heard.
The rest went black.
Hello everyone it's been a very, very, long time. I posted my trilogy in 2004 so I guess that makes this the 20 Year anniversary. Oh man I feel old. I've had a lot of interest and messages about it recently and I never got around to reediting the series I'll start with chapter one and work my way forward. There will be some changes for one it will be toned down somewhat for ratings only minor changes.
I will try a lot harder with grammar I know some never read it because it was unbearable, the fact I even wrote something with ADD and dyslexia I think says a lot to that.
So let me know what you think and if I should keep going, I'll do a few more chapters and see how it goes.
Hope you're all keeping well.
