Somewhere in Johto, or perhaps in Paldea, is a tree with leaves that look incredibly delicious to Girafarig, but which grows too high for either head to reach on their own. The neck bends back, the tail bends forward, and two horns and a circular mouth fire two destructive beams of psychic energy. The attack severs the targeted branch entirely and often fells the tree as well; regardless, it scorches the leaves, giving them a disappointingly burnt taste. The front head wishes to grow taller, tall enough to eat without trouble; the tail, a disappointed gourmand, goes berserk, stretches to many times its normal length, and envelops its partner. And a Farigiraf is born.
Farigiraf are folivorous creatures whose height allows them to reach leaves and berries other herbivorous pokemon can not. Despite its disturbing posture, the tail does not devour the head; instead, the two are in close collaboration, telepathically sharing information on which trees to eat from. The physical proximity of the head and tail avoids any communication lag and allows its two minds to act in unison, ala Metagross' four brains; should psychic attacks not be enough, however, the neck-tail can fall onto rivals and lumberjacks with a powerful snap that is often compared to a falling tree.
Although Farigiraf themselves have no natural predators, they are fiercely defensive of their food sources; even larger arboreal pokemon like Greedent have often been targeted by these pokemon, and humans are advised that their presence is "not compatible with logging operations". Scientific opinions vary as to whether they do this out of a sense of guilt for their method of evolution, or because their large size gives this pokemon a correspondingly extreme need for sustenance; those who have heard its laugh, however, suggest Farigiraf simply find it fun.
