Chapter 6

"But more importantly, why are you here? Inside the Uchiha district."

He approaches to the house I'm standing on top at, hands in pocket and glares at me.

"I... got lost while taking part in morning exercise."

Getting a bad vibe from him, I make my way down the rooftop and escape the area as fast as possible to avoid being interrogated.

"Anyways, I will get going now, see you later!"

Sasuke looks like he's about to chase after me yet gives up the idea in midway. Lucky me!

The main street.

Running into him out of all people. What a way to start the day.

Trying to catch a breath after making a run of my life away from the black haired demon, I take a seat onto one of the stone steps nearby.

What's with his deal anyway?

For some reasons, Sasuke's always acting grumpy whenever seeing me around.

I don't think that I have done anything disrespectful to him. Or was it because of something I've said?

It can't be. We barely exchange words ever since first time seeing each other.

Still, there's also a possibility that Sasuke just hates me by default.

Both Naruto and Sakura are acting strange as well. They become much friendlier and more willing to help than usual after that cursed bell test.

Hmm... I wonder if this is one of Kakashi's doings.

..

...

"That fainting from the bell test, you didn't fake it. Did you?"

Asked Kakashi as he visited Nina again last night by the window for something so called mental health check-up as the last minute excuse.

"What do you mean I fake it? I almost died out there. You saw it yourself."

Getting too used to his abnormal presence, she continued enjoying her food and reading book at the small round table in the middle of the room like no one was around.

"By a single Genjustsu? I don't think so."

He stated confidently and noticed her hand halted from moving to the next page for a short moment.

"The doctor had confirmed my poor condition earlier. Had she not?"

Nina turned her head to his direction, both her eyes and voices didn't waver when speaking those words.

"Oh, I'm sure that she did..."

His voice trailed off in half doubt.

The info he had been provided with by the doctors this afternoon proved that there were cases around her age that could not handle such technique.

And yet, Kakashi's instincts were telling him that these studies were not good enough to cover what happened on that day.

...

..

"Hm... What to do next. Should I go straight home?"

Now I'm trying to figure out where I should spend the rest of my day at.

Konoha is quite small, there isn't a place left for me to visit.

And I don't feel like bothering Sakura or Naruto on their day off.

Yesterday after departing with Sakura, I found myself bumped into team 10 at the very same street.

For some reasons Ino was looking at me with studying eyes. Shikamaru didn't give a damn and Choji was too intrigued by his food to bother.

Then, I saw team 8 on my way back home.

Shino's as quiet as I expected him to be. Kiba preferred playing with Akamaru. And the only one who cared enough to greet me back was Hinata.

Making friends sure is hard, even in this made-up world.

It seems that not everyone's a sunshine like Uzumaki Naruto. Then there is Sasuke, a special case of anti-social. And I just happen to be in the same team with that kind of guy...

Yet, what we are seeing right now is not even the best of him.

Wait until Sasuke gets sentimental and leaves the village to strengthen his bond with Naruto. That's where the fun part begins.

Despite all that, Sakura's willing to stay loyal to him till the very end is an out of the world level of attachment that I cannot comprehend.

While diving deep in thoughts, a cart selling hot buns passes where I sit. The delicious smell of newly baked buns just have to sneak into my noses and causes my stomach to growl.

Hmph! Forget about him. What I need now is food.

And my next destination is the river bank near the usual training ground. Lying on the soft green grass and staring at the deep blue sky above, I enjoy the gentle the sound of bird chirping and water flowing.

How peaceful. No wonder Naruto likes to chill at this place.

Half an hour later and I'm starting to get bored.

What now? I don't feel like going anywhere and doing anything at all.

Somewhat is getting sleepy, I close my eyes with a thought of taking a short nap.

Hmm? This feelings again.

Until a stinging sensation hits me at the back of my neck. It has been occurring not too long after I left the Uchiha district earlier this morning.

It's definitely not Kakashi.

Quickly I stand up and reach for one of the Kunai hanging around my waist. Aiming it at the direction where the stalker's hiding and throw.

The figure jumps down from the tree branch is no one else but Uchiha's heir.

"Huh? Sasuke?"

Needless to say how confused I'm while watching him casually approaching to my spot.

Was that why he didn't chase after me earlier? Because he planned to study my actions from the dark?

But what for? I can understand Kakashi's intentions but not this guy.

"Just a quick reminder, I don't trust an outsider like you. So don't even think about pulling off those friendship bull crap that Naruto has planted into your head on me."

And I'm dumbfounded by his obvious fact for a short moment.

"You didn't go all the way here just to to tell me these things, did you?"

He doesn't answer and I scratch the back of my head in defeat. Jeeze, whatever.

"Did you have fun following me around? I bet your fan girls would die just for this to happen to them. Huh?"

Putting away the Kunai, I return to my resting spot to take a seat. Without forgetting to mock him for being such a failure of a stalker.

Still, It'd rather be him than someone that I don't know of.

Especially an enemy. Like the ones from that strange lab in my own world.

Hold on. If I could transport myself into Naruto's world through that goddamn device, wouldn't they can too?

There's a possibility that they had already been here and on their way of hunting me down.

"What were you searching for at the Uchiha's district? What are you trying to achieve?"

Then, Sasuke begins his interrogating.

"I was searching for my way back home, obviously. Haven't I told you that already?"

And I can sense his menace aura is slowly eating me up from behind. Despite staying yards apart from each other.

"You're expecting me to believe that lame excuse?"

"Whatever you believe in is none of my business."

Frustrated that my peaceful moment is ruined by an overly paranoid teenage shinobi boy, I stand up and walk away.

"You're lying."

Seems to have figured out my escape plan, he grabs my arm to stop me from going.

"Even if you ask me a thousand more times, the answer will still be the same."

And I cannot yank my arm back from his tight grip no matter how hard I try.

"You're not going anywhere until you spill out the truth."

"Too bad for you then, playing tug of war with me here won't gain you anything."

So I kick his knees to make him release me.

"There must be a way to make you talk."

Yet Sasuke avoids every upcoming attack, while professionally maintaining his annoying grip on my arm.

"Talk, huh? What are you going to do, using Sharingan on me?"

Once that forbidden word slips out of my lips, Sasuke turns dead quiet.

"How did you know about Sharingan, who told you?"

His tone's so low that it sounds like he's threatening me.

"Uhm.. Naruto told me about what happened at the Land of Wave. So..."

It's then I realize my grave mistake. Crap! I totally forgot that he knew how to activate it recently.

"But that's not quite a bad idea."

Much to my horror, Sasuke gladly accepts the challenge. Ugh! Curse me and my big mouth!

"Ah! Kakashi-sensei, help! Sasuke is picking on me!"

I point at the spot right behind him. And the moment Sasuke turns around, I kick his butt and runs away, as fast as possible.

Back to the main street.

A couple of minutes later and Sasuke has already caught up with me despite taking all the shortcuts and sharp turns.

Man... I knew that he's fast, but I didn't expect him to be this fast.

Now he's bearing no sign of slowing down or whatsoever while I'm already out of breath.

"Hey! Are you guys playing tag?! Count me in too!"

Just then Naruto, who happens to be taking his usual stroll on the street, sees us chasing each other and decides to tag along out of curiosity.

"Naruto! Can you hold him off for me?!"

Almost burst into tears of joy as my knight in shining armor has appeared, I call out for his aid.

"Sure! I'm on it, you know!"

Therefore Naruto starts summoning a bunch of clones and jumps at his best friend.

"The fuck are you doing?! You moron! Get off me!"

Now Sasuke has to deal with his annoying teammates if he wants to move on.

"You idiot! What are you doing to Sasuke-kun!"

When Sakura sees the dumb ass Naruto is messing with Sasuke from afar. She charges in full speed to help her crush. Punching every single clone out of the way in a blink of an eye, including Naruto himself.

"Ouch! Why are you hitting me! I was just trying to help Nina-chan!"

When everything has died down, Naruto whines in pain. As Sasuke wipes the dust off his clothes in annoyance. The two also not forgetting to glare deadly at each other.

"Stop lying! I saw you were bothering Sasuke-kun a while ago!"

"Huh? I thought we were playing game?"

What?! Sasuke-kun and Nina-chan?! Sakura's heart skips a beat when imagining them going on a date together, doing those lovey-dopey couples stuff behind her back.

"W-Wait. Is that true, Sasuke-kun?!"

Still, she refuses to believe that Sasuke would ever act that way. Unless he confirms it himself.

"Are you even sane?! No one is playing anything!"

And Sasuke dismisses that ridiculous idea, much to her relief.

"Hey, Sasuke-kun. Wanna go somewhere together?"

Since it's still noon, Sakura suggests the two of them to hang out and have lunch together.

"What about me?!"

While Naruto's presence is completely ignored.

"No thanks."

However Sasuke rejects her and walks off, quickly disappears into the crowd up ahead.

Nina's home.

"I'm tired..."

Lying flats onto the tatami, I take the headband off my forehead to seek for a little comfort.

To think that I would finally be able to enjoy some peaceful days in Konoha, not getting chased all over the place like things were back in my hometown.

And the one I am running away from is a teammate of mine, it doesn't seem right no matter how much I look at it...

While still thinking for a way to counter that Uchiha, I drift into deep sleep and the moment waking up, the sun has already set.

Quickly I pack things up into my package. Cook something simple for dinner and not forgetting to cross Uchiha's district out of my morning daily routine. Tomorrow is going to be one hell of a day, isn't it...
