"All Engines Go" is not what it makes itself out to be and its stories are truly very different. Actually, those stories are based on the adventures of some of Thomas' friends from the Mainland. A look in the files of Railgate (thanks, Victor Tanzig) has found this file on a way to permanently punish an engine for an extremely big crime that can never be rubbed off their record, meaning that the engine has to spend the rest of their career facing the consequences of their actions.

Just because we aren't hearing about our old friends from Sodor right now, that doesn't mean that they aren't there anymore. Thomas the Tank Engine and the rest of his friends are back for more fun and adventure. Even with their show out of the public eye, they still have many stories to share.

We may not hear much from our old Sodor friends at present, but that doesn't mean there isn't more happening.
