Ulrich362: True, a few have been added to the actual card game but not all of them. Of course that being said, Chazz won't be the main focus in this chapter and instead someone else will get some time in the spotlight.

It was the first day of Duel Academy after that close call last night now in class in Dr. Crowler's classroom where he questions the first years with quizes.
"Duel Monster cards can be grouped into Normal Monster cards, Fusion Monster cards, Ritual Monster Cards, Effect Monster Cards, Trap Cards, and Spell Cards. Trap Cards can be divided into Normal Traps, Counter Traps, and Continuous Traps. Spell cards can be separated into Normal Spells, Continuous Spells, Equip Spells, Quick-Play Spells, Ritual Spells, and Field Spells." was Alexis explaining all the cards in each separate category
At her explanation Dr. Crowler approved clapping with a grin. "Perfect! Well done Alexis. Of course I wouldn't expect any less from one of my blue Obelisks."
"Yes Dr. Crowler." Alexis nodded respectfully before sitting back down.
"Hmm... now who should we question next?" Dr. Crowler pondered as he looked at the students only for his eyes to pause seeing Syrus. "You, Syrus Truesdale!"
Syrus gasped before quickly standing up.
"Explain to the class what a Field Spell is, please?"
"Uh..." Like he expected Syrus can't remember what it was. "A Field Spell is a... is the thing that effects the thing that is the..."
"Even Pre-Duelers know the answer to this Slifer Slacker!" One of the Obelisks called which caused the entire dorm to laugh at poor Syrus while Chazz smirked a bit amused.
Jaden frowned at this not able to do anything but does feel a bit offended from this.
"No, I know it's uh... uh..." Syrus stuttered starting to blush in embarrassment.
Bastion frowned looking over seeing how flustered Syrus was getting.
"Relax Sy, you totally got this." Jaden reassured him with a grin.
"I think not, sit down." Dr. Crowler told Syrus as he sat down in defeat. "Now would someone please give me the answer? Preferably someone not wearing red thank you."
"I blew it. I made all the Slifers look bad." Syrus frowned looking down miserably as Jaden frowned before standing up getting everyone's attention.
"You know teach you shouldn't talk about us Slifers like that." Dr. Crowler looked over curiously at him while Jaden continued. "I mean, I'm a Slifer, and I've beat you so when your making fun of us, your only making fun of yourself."
Stunned from what he just said Dr. Crowler took a hankerchief, and bit down on it to prevent himself from screaming curses at Jaden from his bold choice of words. He isn't the only one stunned as the students were looking at Jaden stunned from him having the guts to say something like that in Dr. Crowler's face, and without flinching.
Grinning Jaden gave a victory sign to Syrus as Alexis looked at him with a small smile. 'Any ideas on how to challenge him yet Venus?'
The angelic figure from before appeared behind her only to shake her head causing Alexis to sigh while Dr. Crowler looked furious.
'That's it, I will not tolerate this slacker at my school for another minute. I'll see to it he's taken down!' Dr. Crowler thought furiously.
Later while on the way to the next class Jaden was moving to the next classroom where Professor Banner will teach them Syrus ran over calling, "Hey Jay!"
"Hm?" Jaden looked over before smiling, "Yeah Sy?"
"I just wanted to say thanks for what you did, I really messed up back there." Syrus admitted.
"Hey we all mess up some point in our lives... But think of it like we can get something better in return." Jaden smiled softly to him.
Syrus blinked before nodding with a smile only for Professor Banner to suddenly pause his lesson.
"Syrus?" Professor Banner asked causing him to stand up nervously.
"Yeah?" Syrus asked nervously recalling what happened in Dr. Crowler's class only for Professor Banner to smile.
"Do me a favor and grab Pharaoh will you?" Professor Banner requested calmly causing Syrus to blink in confusion.
"Pharaoh?" Syrus asked in confusion.
"Unless you are minoring as a scratch post." Professor Banner chuckled as Syrus felt something and he looked down to see a fat cat rubbing against his leg.
"Meow."
Everyone instantly started laughing from this while Syrus blushed embarrassed reaching down, and softly taking Pharaoh in his arms.
"Thank you Syrus." Professor Banner smiled as Syrus walked over and gave Pharaoh back to him.
Meanwhile...
"I appreciate you taking the time to talk with me Chancellor, I noticed something that you might want to be made aware of." Zane mentioned as he sat at Chancellor Sheppard's desk.
"Really now? What exactly is it?" Chancellor Sheppard looked curious hearing that wondering what it was Zane needed to tell him.
"I assume you're familiar with the teacher trainee Mr. Ryuga, and his incredible dueling record." Zane mentioned as he frowned. "I saw his last three duels and in every single one of them his opponent lost because their Duel Disk wasn't able to register a single spell... but before and after the match they tested their equipment and everything was in perfect working order."
"Oh really?" Chancellor Sheppard does indeed know of Mr. Ryuga, and heard that he's a good duelist but hearing that Zane is telling him that each time he duels his opponent's Spell cards can't function right. That sounds suspicious.
"If it were once or twice I might pass it off as a coincidence... but in his last 48 duels not one opponent could play spell cards." Zane revealed as he frowned. "Two more wins and he would become an official professor here at Duel Academy but if my suspicions are right he's cheating in some way. I thought it best to bring this to your attention sooner rather than later."
Chancellor Sheppard frowned hearing that thinking how it is possible. Soon he pressed a button on the intercom, "Mr. Ryuga, and two nearest security officers please report to my office."
A few minutes later three people entered the office. Two of them wearing green uniforms as the third was a man wearing a blue uniform with dark hair and two white stripes wearing glasses and a ring on his left middle finger.
"Mr. Ryuga. Thank you for coming." Chancellor Sheppard greeted the man.
"You wanted to see me Chancellor?" he asked calmly only to blink. "Zane Truesdale, shouldn't you be in class?"
"Zane here had brought forth to my attention about something concerning involving your test duels." Chancellor Sheppard explained over towards him. "He said he had seen some of your duels, and noticed something rather disturbing."
"Disturbing, what are you talking about?" Mr. Ryuga questioned.
"He told me that in your test duels your opponents have been unable to activate there spell cards. Would you mind telling me how that was possible?" Chancellor Sheppard brought the point of the matter apparently already.
"It isn't my fault that these students aren't making sure their gear is up to standard, it simply demonstrates a lack of diligence on their part." Mr. Ryuga answered calmly.
"I've talked to some of the students, there Duel Disks were in perfect condition, and they had made sure the night before to be in perfect working order before they dueled you." Zane brought up himself while standing up. "So they have checked there gear is up to standard, and it lead me to assume your cheating somehow."
Mr. Ryuga flinched slightly before Zane revealed something that shocked everyone.
"And during your last match, I tested my own Duel Disk... and my spell cards weren't registering either." Zane revealed.
"Zane's Duel Disk malfunctioned, but that shouldn't be possible." one of the men in the green uniforms frowned.
"Ryuga." Chancellor Sheppard stood up looking stern. "Don't make this harder then it has to be, and tell us how the spells aren't working."
"Well I don't know Chancellor."
"Guards confiscate his Duel Disk, check for anything." the Chancellor ordered the security guards getting the first thing how his opponent's spells are unable to be used by Ryuga's Duel Disk.
They took it and the two guards inspected it only to frown not finding anything.
"Nothing sir." one guard said over towards the Chancellor. "Nothing odd about his Duel Disk."
Suddenly the other guard blinked. "Wait hold the phone."
"Did you find something?" the first guard asked.
"It looks like a... piece of metal like a magnetizing barrier next to the spell card register?" Ryuga widen his eyes wondering how they've spotted that over.
Chancellor Sheppard frowned turning to the top student. "Zane?" When he looked over he asked him. "Has Ryuga's own Duel Disk experienced the same technical problem his opponent's have?"
"No, it hasn't." Zane confirmed. "His spells worked perfectly."
"Ryuga?"
The now nervous teacher gulped from everyone staring at him, "W-Well I..." He rubbed his head with his left hand trying to think what to say before the monitor close to his hand started to static which surprised them while he blinked. "What?" He lowered his hand which made the monitor appear again like normal.
"What?"
Sheppard frowned. "Ryuga bring your hand close to the monitor beside you again."
Mr. Ryuga nodded while trying to secretly turn his ring off. "Of course, though it may have been a glitch of some kind."
Moving his hand near the monitor again nothing happened.
"A simple glitch, one with inconvenient timing for my case but it was simply a small glitch."
"Hey wait." the second security guard noticed something, "What did you do with your ring." Ryuga moved to refuse only for the guard to glare. "I saw you do something with it! Do that again, and move your hand on it again!"
"I'm not obligated too-" already annoyed the first Security Guard grabbed his wrist taking the ring. "Hey!"
The first guard rotated the ring, and held it up at the monitor. The monitor turned to static again.
"So it was this thing is why." the guard looked at Ryuga in disgust. "Too bad you won't be needing this anymore." He threw the ring out of the Chancellor's window once it was opened.
"Chancellor, what should we do with him?" the second guard questioned glaring at Ryuga in disgust.
"You can escort him to the docks. The ship that carries the last of the students is suppose to leave in one hour so make sure he has his stuff, and gets out." Chancellor Sheppard gave a disapproving stare to Ryuga.
Mr. Ryuga's eyes widened as he glared at Zane who only looked at him calmly as the guard dragged him out of the office.
Meanwhile in his office Dr. Crowler was working on writing a letter.
"And here we are." Dr. Crowler smirked after kissing a letter with lipstick. "The big kiss-off!"
Laughing at that he held the finished letter in his hands.
Meanwhile Jaden and several other students had changed into gym clothes as he looked around curiously. "Huh, I wonder where Sy is."
"Alright kids, I am your Gym Teacher, Miss Fonda Fontaine, and I'll be your instructor for this semester. You ready to sweat?" the female teacher in the gym asked the group of students.
There was a mixed reaction to that as some students cheered and others groaned at that while in the locker room Dr. Crowler started to look though the lockers. "Now to plant the bait where Jaden will be sure to find it. Ah, his shoes!"
Putting the letter on Jaden's shoes he smirked. He chuckled walking out to be ready for later. A few seconds later Syrus came in. "Ah stupid girl's gym! They need to make the sign bigger." He headed to his locker which hold Jaden's shoes. "Huh? Oh Jaden's using my locker again? Huh?" Noticing the letter he takes it.
"Huh, but this isn't Jaden's!" he cried seeing the kiss on the letter before nervously looking around before walking to a corner of the locker room. "Someone wrote me a letter? Wonder what it says."
"Since the moment I first saw you I've been... in love with you!?" he read in shock. "Meet me tonight behind the girl's dorm endearingly, Alexis Rhodes!"
He blushed a bit sitting down on the floor.
"Oh boy, this sure is a lot better than what my mom usually writes me." Syrus admitted as he started to daydream Alexis and him running towards each other with their arms outstretched in a field of flowers
"Syrus..." Alexis smiled.
"Alexis..." Syrus replied with his own smile as the two of them took each others hands.
He gave a love giggled as he imagined his daydream over only to hear someone calling for him from the gym.
"Syrus, what's going on are you coming or not?" Jaden asked again causing him to blink.
"Huh, oh sorry I'm on my way." Syrus answered blushing as he hid the letter before quickly running to change and join the others.
So the rest of the school day went by uneventful for the most part, and all Syrus can think of is the letter, and very soon at night he is rowing himself to the girl's dorm.
Not knowing that Jaden walked in toweling his hair. "Hey Sy, the outhouse is all yours if you want it."
"Sy's gonzo." Chumley told him causing Jaden to blink and look at his other roommate. "Yeah he just left, and he was in a real good mood too."
"Syrus in a good mood, that's a bit unusual." Dark Shield mentioned thoughtfully. "Do you think something happened today."
"I doubt it, nothing came to mind unless he was just happy about Jaden defending him." mentioned a brighter version of Burst Mistress who frowned. "Then again, maybe he hit his head in gym class?"
"I don't know you two." Jaden admitted shrugging over.
Yubel frowned at that before closing her eyes. "Well, if he's happy I guess that's the important thing. What are you going to do Jaden?"
"Probably check my Deck one more, and head to bed." Jaden admitted to her.
She nodded at that before looking out the window thoughtfully.
With Syrus...
"Alexis, I'm coming for you my darling! I'm coming!" Syrus cried happily rowing towards the girl's dorm.
Unaware to him was Dr. Crowler was hiding in the bushes after snipping the lock off the gate.
Inside the dorm was Alexis in a pool with her friends Jasmine, and Mindy discussing about today.
"Can you guys believe what Jaden said to Dr. Crowler today?" Jasmine asked.
Mindy agreed, "What a big mouth."
"He's got some nerve to talk to a teacher like that." she added. "Completely disrespectful. Don't you think Alexis?"
Alexis however was holding a towel with her eyes closed. "Actually I thought it was kind of cool."
She then opened her eyes.
"Plus, to be honest there's something I want to check involving him."
"What do you mean?" Jasmine asked her curiously.
"During his entrance exam when he dueled Dr. Crowler." Alexis started as she closed her eyes. "One of the monsters he summoned, it felt familiar to me... I want to duel him myself and take a closer look at his Elemental HERO Terra Firma card."
"You think it's like your Venus?" Mindy asked her.
"I'm almost certain, but the only way... is to duel him and..." Alexis started before her eyes narrowed. "Did you two hear something?"
Hearing some footsteps Dr. Crowler moved over to strike only to see Syrus walking in. "Alexis?"
"THAT'S NOT JADEN, IT'S THAT STAMMERING FIEND SPELL NITWIT!" Dr. Crowler screamed seeing he dragged out the wrong student.
Seeing him Jasmine and Mindy cried out before after a few moments the three girls were in towels glaring down at Syrus.
"What should we do with this peeping tom?" Jasmine questioned.
"He should be expelled for this." Mindy suggested.
"I swear, Alexis told me to come here." Syrus defended on his knees wrists tied reaching into his pocket, and handed the letter.
Frowning Alexis took the note and opened it reading before she frowned. "Syrus, this letter is addressed to Jaden, and whoever wrote it misspelled my name."
"Huh?" Syrus blinked which Alexis turned it around for Syrus to see. "Oh man... even I couldn't get a fake letter? Oh man, I really am pathetic."
"He probably faked the letter himself." Mindy accused.
"What's going on down there?" they suddenly hear Miss Fontaine's voice asked over.
Gasping Mindy and Jasmine quickly pushed Syrus down and sat on him as Alexis stood in front to hide him from view.
"Oh we were just relaxing a bit before heading to bed... having some time in the hotsprings." Alexis explained.
Miss Fontaine walked on a hallway staring down seeing the girls but not seeing Syrus. "Well keep it down, it's late in the evening, and everyone is turning in for the night!"
"Right, sorry about that miss Fontaine." Mindy answered.
Satisfied Miss Fontaine walked off to head to bed allowing the girls to get up while Syrus is reaching around. "Oh man, where are my glasses?" They see that from the sudden moves they accidentally knocked his glasses off his face. Alexis frowned picking them up and handing them to him.
He takes them putting them back on. "Thanks..." He then looks down. "So are you three gonna report me now?"
"Obviously!" Jasmine glared but Alexis places a hand on her shoulder. "Lex?"
"I might have a better idea." she mentioned.
They looked curious as she smiled.
Meanwhile...
Jaden was about to turn in for the night until his PDA rang.
"Huh, whats that?" Jaden asked looking at it.
He, and Yubel looked to see as a voice discussed. "We have your friend Syrus. If you want to see him again come to the Girl's Dorm."
"Huh, Syrus?" Jaden asked shocked. "Who is this?"
The video stopped showing it's only a message.
"What are you going to do?" Yubel asked Jaden despite already knowing the answer.
"Ain't it obvious Yubel? Head in, and see what's going on." Jaden stood up as he grinned at her.
"I had a feeling you'd say that." Yubel chuckled.
With that decided Jaden headed in, and gets in a boat rowing over to the Obelisk Blue Girl's Dorm. He soon saw Syrus tied up in a boat with Jasmine and Mindy as Alexis was in her own boat.
"I had a feeling you'd be here Jaden." Alexis told him.
"What's going on here?" Jaden asked as he stared over at them. "What did you do to Sy?
"He broke Duel Academy's rules Jaden, boys aren't allowed in the girl's dorm." Alexis explained. "You're breaking that rule too."
"Huh? But I was called here..."
"An agreement?" Jaden asked as he stared at her.
"That's right, a duel. If I win you and Syrus get expelled... but if you win we'll pretend this never happened and you two can go back to your dorm no questions asked." Alexis told him. "But, I want to duel your Elemental HERO cards, not the Evil ones you used against Chazz."
Jaden nodded before turning to Yubel. "Yubel?" Asking if she's ready for this match since he has her card in both Decks.
"Yes, but be careful. I can't help but have a strange feeling about this duel." she nodded.
Jaden nodded as he readied over. "Sorry Dark Lightning. You guys will be benched for this. Let your brother, and them handle this one."
"Just make sure they don't screw this one up." he frowned.
With that they readied over as Jaden grinned to Alexis. "I hope your ready to get your game on Lex."
"I could say the same thing, you can go first Jaden." Alexis told him as she closed her eyes. 'Let's see if that feeling of mine was right.'

"Okay Terra Firma get Cyber Angel Benten!" Terra Firma readied one flaming sword charging in towards Cyber Angel Benten.
"Not so fast, Cyber Angel Natasha can negate an attack on one of my Ritual Monsters Jaden." Alexis countered as a barrier appeared blocking Terra Firma's attack.
Jaden blinked from that. "It can do that." Shrugging he checks over his hand setting a card. "That's all I can do. I end my turn."

Alexis drew her card and nodded. "I'll use Pot of Greed to draw two cards."

The two vanished which Jaden blinked before they noticed a light appearing starting to form something.
"Descend from the heavens, the benevolent goddess who guides the planet!" Alexis chanted. "I summon, Splendid Venus!"

"Yes, I never imagined we would meet again. Of course you remember my power?" Venus asked.

"Huh what happened?" Syrus asked shocked.
"Splendid Venus has a special ability, all non-Fairy monsters lose 500 points." Mindy revealed.
"Alright, Splendid Venus attack Elemental HERO Terra Firma, Holy Feather Shower!" Alexis called.
Splendid Venus raised her scepter to attack but Jaden called. "I play a face-down! The spell Hero Barrier!"

"As I have at least one Elemental HERO on the field, this card negates your attack!" A fan appeared in front of Terra Firma deflecting Splendid Venus's attack.
Alexis smiled at that. "I set another card and end my move."

"Thanks to this, I can take Polymerization, and Sparkman back to the hand!" Jaden explained as the two exited the graveyard which he takes.
Alexis blinked but nodded.
"And next up, I summon Sparkman!" Sparkman rose up readying.
Elemental HERO Sparkman: (Attack Position/ATK: 1600 - 500 = 1100/DEF: 1400 - 500 = 900)
"Now I'll use Terra Firma's ability by adding Sparkman's points to his until the End Phase!" Jaden grinned as Terra Firma gained his swords while absorbing Sparkman.

Alexis frowned seeing that.
"Adding your ally's strength to your own, like always?" Splendid Venus inquired.
Terra Firma smiled over before Jaden added over. "Okay now Terra Firma get her!" Terra Firma readied the swords charging in on Splendid Venus.
"I play a trap, Doble Passe!" Alexis countered as Terra Firma flew past Splendid Venus and slashed her instead.

"Huh?" Jaden blinked before noticing Splendid Venus charged in attacking him with a light attack. (Jaden: 2200/Hand: 4) "Ah! Yowch!" Splendid Venus, and Terra Firma flew back as Jaden shook his head. "What was that?"
"Doble Passe, when you attack one of my monsters this trap changes it to a direct attack, then you take damage equal to my monster's attack points." Alexis explained before looking at Jaden with a grin. "But, my monster can also attack directly on my next turn which means Splendid Venus can attack you again."
"Whoa... she sacrificed her Life Points so she can get to mine..." Jaden trailed off impressed by this. "Smart." He then widen his eyes. "Wait she can finish me off unless I do something about it."
"Jaden..." Syrus whispered nervously.
Jaden checks over his hand looking over to see what he can do. Then seeing an idea he grinned before setting two cards. "Your up Lex!"

The fairy charged over at Jaden as he stared before he then called. "Alright! I activate A Hero Emerges!"

'Huh, that doesn't change anything.' Alexis thought but looked. "Right."
Jaden grinned. "Good choice Lex. Well for me! Cause I have a little guy!" He reveals the card. "Hero Kid!"
At that what appeared in defense was a small boy with purple hair wearing a red/white suit with a glass helmet while having a red mask on.

Alexis frowned as Kid Guard shattered.
"What?" Syrus isn't sure if the trap being destroyed is a part of what it can do.
That's when he noticed Akiza's set card, Solemn Judgment.

"I can pay half my life points to negate and destroy Kid Guard. Which means Splendid Venus can continue her direct attack." Alexis told him.

"Jaden-!" Before Terra Firma can warn Jaden of Splendid Venus' other effect he vanished.
"Huh, what happened to his monster?" Mindy questioned.
"It's Protection of the Elements' effect." They looked to Jaden who explained with a grin. "See it banishes an Elemental HERO on my field until the end of the turn. But thanks to doing that, it negates a spell or trap card that's been activated!" Then he notices what looks like a light barrier around Solemn Judgement seeming to be coming from Splendid Venus. "What's going on?"
"As long as Splendid Venus is in play you can't negate my spell or trap cards Jaden." Alexis revealed. "Which means Solemn Judgment negates Kid Guard, and my attack goes through."
"So then... Protection of the Elements doesn't do anything?" Syrus asked shocked from that as the trap simply vanished having resolved without effect.
"Alexis wins, and you two are expelled." Jasmine told him.

"Jaden!" Syrus cried worried.
Jaden had his head down before looking up at Alexis. "It was an honor to duel you Lex."
"I feel the same." Alexis smiled. "And I was right, our cards are the same."
"The same?" That confuses Jaden.
"That's right, and I know at least one more... you two should head back." Alexis mentioned.
"Alexis what about expelling them?" Mindy asked shocked.
"He has one of them Mindy, it might be a clue to finding him." Alexis pointed out. "Besides... I don't think Syrus would write a fake letter."
"So... we're free to go?" Syrus asked softly.
"I... guess you are." Jasmine sighed. "Just get going and don't do this again, got it?"
They nodded before rowing out of the dorm.
Ulrich362: Well, Jaden ended up losing to Alexis. Though it sounds like she knows things he doesn't, does Yubel know anything, or Terra Firma himself?
bopdog111: She said that Terra Firma has the same power as Splendid Venus.
Ulrich362: True, so maybe next chapter we'll find out what that means? And of course... Jaden will have a rematch against a more challenging opponent.
