Ulrich362: Well, Chazz managed to pull off quite the victory over Jaden but both of them showed off their dueling talents.
bopdog111: Sorry it took a while, was worried if we will get Elize in character like how Mage of Hope intended.
Ulrich362: Hopefully we did, though for this next chapter it's about time for Dr. Crowler to take desperate measures to get rid of Jaden right?
bopdog111: What kind of 'desperate measures'?
Ulrich362: Bringing in someone with a connection to the Shadow Games... what else?
bopdog111: Sounds like Titan is coming himself. Will he be interesting this time?
Ulrich362: Doubtful... but I think we might be able to do something a bit fun with him.

At night was an abandoned decayed building as someone walked. It was Alexis who has arrived by herself staring over at the building before she turned placing a rose in front of a gravestone sighing.
'Be at peace brother, where've you are.' she thought sadly.
She lowered her head from this. Her brother had been missing at this building for a while, and one of the reasons she came to his Academy in the first place was to find him, and bring him back. She had done some digging, and found this place, the Abandoned Dorm that is so taboo, and haunted that going near it is a penalty by expulsion. But Alexis knows her brother is here somewhere.
Meanwhile at the Slifer Red Dorm...
"...And underneath the full moon, I see a path through the cavern that seems...abandoned..."
Syrus was currently telling Chumley, Jaden, and Elize all about a scary story. They were drawing cards, and whatever monster they drew, the higher the level, the more scary the story would be. They were all seated in the dining room, the candle being their only light source.
They are currently in the Slifer Red Lunchroom to do these scary story shows with candles around for dim light while drawing the cards. Yubel, herself is also present interested in hearing stories like these.
"Wh... what happened next?" Elize shivered nervously as she was invested in the story but also kind of scared.
Syrus's expression grew more serious as his tone deepened, trying to set a scary setting. "Then, back at the cavern, I see a mysterious lake. So, I go in to look veeerrrryyy carefully...And, under just the right angle of light, at the very bottom of the lake, beyond my reflection, I see a rare and powerful card! Naturally, I'd go and get it, but when I reached for it... an arm grabs me, and tries pulling me towards the lake!"
Chumley, who had been sitting next to Syrus, freaked out and backed away real afraid.
"AAAAAHHH! HELP ME! NOT THE WATER! ANYTHING BUT THE WATER!" Syrus started clawing at the air to visualized the experience.
"You were pulled into the water? What else happened?" Jaden asked him.
"Hang on water is not really all that scary." Yubel had been expecting something good, and scary but that part wasn't all that scary to her. Jaden blinked nodding agreeing that water isn't that scary which he told Syrus.
"Well... I guess it wasn't bad for a four star monster. Do you want a turn Elize?" Syrus turned over to Elize who widen her eyes.
"M-Me!?" Elize isn't sure if she is able to tell a scary story. "Well... here goes..." She takes the card slowly flipping to see a Level 4, Axe Dragonute.
"That's not too powerful, you don't have to make it super scary." Hiita reassured her.
"She's right, and everyone here is really nice." Eria agreed.
"Well uh... uh..." Elize tried to think of what story can fit this. Then she recalled a memory. "Well... I think I got something in mind..."
"Ok." Jaden smiled gently. "Take your time, this is all for fun."
"He's right, and anything would be better than water." Chumley teased Syrus.
Syrus glared towards him while Elize takes a breath. "Well... the scary thing is... I don't have any parents... I been an orphan for all of my life."
"An orphan, that's horrible." Jaden frowned as he gently hugged her. "Well, you have a lot of friends here Elize."
She blushed a bit from the hug. "Well... all I have is my Deck, and their my family every since I got them..."
"That's not really a story-"
"Chum!" Syrus snapped quietly to Chumley who quiet down, wrong words to say. Then he cleared his throat to change the subject. "Uh, Jaden aren't you next?"
"Yeah I am." Jaden nodded as he drew a card before his eyes widened revealing the level nine Dark Sage.
"L-Level 9!?" Syrus, and Chumlet's eyes bulged at their heads while Elize starts shivering from what kind of scary story Jaden will say.
Jaden looked at it before turning. "Yubel, do you want to do the honors?"
Yubel frowned knowing what story he has in mind. She haven't thought of it in a while, and it was real painful... but she supposes it be the best kind of story. "Alright Jaden, tell them."
Jaden nodded taking her hand. "Well, this isn't my story, it's actually Yubel's."
"Oh that monster that you used against Chazz?" Chumley can somewhat recall the monster Jaden is talking about from what Syrus said, is a powerful monster as well. Elize also informed them she's different which to him is hard to believe but Syrus is seeing her sometimes, and Chumley himself thinks he can also hear Duel Monster's voice so it be insane for him to say he doesn't believe Yubel really is real.
"Yeah." Jaden nodded activating his Duel Disk and putting Yubel's card on it as she appeared and he gently took her hand. "Yubel, do you want to tell this one?"
"Didn't I say you tell them?" Yubel asked him.
"I just want to make sure you're ok with this." Jaden admitted to her. "You're one of my closest friends and I know it's hard on you."
"Do... you want us to skip your turn Jaden?" Syrus asked seeing that.
Yubel sighed. "Your too nice for your own good Jaden... alright, I'll tell them."
Elize frowned slightly. "If it's upsetting... you don't have to say it, and... we can let Chumley have his turn instead."
"No it's fine. You three do need to know a bit about me, and Jaden anyway." Yubel spoke over to them before then speaking.
The truth was back then she was a loyal friend of who was called the Supreme King named Haou, and the young boy was Jaden's ancestor. She swore to be his guardian against a powerful force known as the Light of Destruction, and his destiny was to fight this power one day as he is the wielder of a power known as the Gentle Darkness. But he needed a guardian, that Yubel willingly let experiments alter her body to be his guardian but he, and his Kingdom were killed by the Light of Destruction when it attacked, and her spirit ultimately survived eventually becoming a card that came to be in Jaden's possession to this day where she realizes he is Haou's reincarnation.
Jaden gently took Yubel's hand. "I don't know everything about the Light of Destruction, but I do know that I'll stand with Yubel no matter what."
"That... so sweet..." Lyna whispered tearing up as they heard the dorm door open and turned to see Professor Banner.
"Whatever is going on here children?" he walked in looking around seeing Yubel, and sees the candles. "Oh, you all getting into some scare fest? May I join?"
"Oh, alright Professor, you draw a card and the level decides how scary the story has to be." Jaden explained.
"Sounds easy enough... okay let's see what we got." Professor Banner takes the top card flipping it to reveal Five-Headed Dragon, a Level 12 monster.
"Level 12, that's the highest level there is!" Jaden cried in shock.
"You know I think I've had enough for one night and we should make sure we get some sleep before class tomorrow." Syrus mentioned quickly his feet shaking at seeing the Level.
"He's right, we don't want to be late, good night Professor." Chumley agreed also in fear.
Professor Banner only chuckled from this. "What's wrong boys, don't you all want to hear the story about the Abandoned Dorm?"
"Abandoned Dorm?" Jaden asked curiously hearing that.
"Not many people talk about it, but that was cause of unfortunate incidents. For you see, they say that the Abandoned Dorm is connected to the Shadow Realm from the Shadow Games of old, where anyone who trespasses onto it go missing." Professor Banner knows he shouldn't talk about this, but knows this is the best story for Level 12, and also serves as a warning for the three in case they stumble onto it about the grave danger it poses.
"That's enough, you can stop now!" Chumley cried fearfully.
"People also say that the place is also connected with spirits who are never at rest as they seek souls to satisfy their hunger." Professor Banner continued the story. "Even connected close towards the Millennium Items."
"Where is the Abandoned Dorm?" Jaden asked him.
"It's deep in the forest about left of the Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm. Although, I hope you all aren't thinking of heading there yourselves, it's against Academy Rules to head there." Professor Banner stood up. "Now then you all get some rest, and head to bed okay?" He then turned towards Elize. "And Elize, if you find any problems or are uncomfortable in a dorm full of boys, just voice your concerns to me okay?"
"I'm ok, thank you Professor." Elize smiled gently. "They're all really nice."
"I see, well good night, and pleasant dreams students." Professor Banner chuckled as he left.
Jaden when Professor Banner left turned to everyone. "Okay guys, how about tomorrow we check out this Abandoned Dorm ourselves?"
"Huh, but... Professor Banner just said it was against the rules." Elize frowned.
"Plus you heard what he said... people who go there end up going missing." Syrus mentioned nervously.
"Come on, guys don't tell me your scared. Me, and Yubel have powers over darkness so even if that were the case, there's no way we will go missing, if we look around. We may even find the missing students." Jaden assured them that with his power of Haou, he can rescue the missing students.
"Well... if you say so..." Syrus shuddered a bit.
The next day...
Dr. Crowler was in his office calling someone. It had been after he had happened to eavesdrop onto Jaden, and the others for what he can use to get Jaden off the island after that match had not gone as plan where despite Chazz's victory, the boy himself didn't call Jaden a has been like he's suppose too, and there was also the issue of not using the cards he had provided. Well from what he had heard, he knows just what to do; hire a Shadow Duelist to scare Jaden off the island.
"Speak." stated an intimidating male voice. "What's the job?"
"Ah yes, I was hoping to hire you for your expertise in the Shadow Games. Duel Academy, tonight at the docks, I will be waiting for you to give you the details." Dr. Crowler smirked seeing he has his duelist on the phone.
"Duel Academy, I'll be there." the man stated simply.
Dr. Crowler said bye, and hanged up laughing to himself manically. The plan to get Jaden off the island is coming along smoothly. All that needs to be done now is wait for the Shadow Duelist to show up, and everything will fall to place. Pretty soon he won't see the Duelist who made a mockery of his elite Obelisks anytime soon. He started to laugh maniacally as a group of students walking past flinched.
Later in Professor Banner's class...
"Oh, your majesty..."
It was the sigh of Toxic Bubble shaking his head as he watches Jaden sleeping in class like he always does, but has a small smile on his face when he said that. Some things never changed, and he, and his comrades both Evil HERO, and Elemental HERO wouldn't want any other way.
"You're paying attention right?" Bubbleman asked his counterpart. "You know he'll need our help again."
"Of course, brother, of course." Toxic Bubble spoke over towards him. "No need to worry, I am paying attention."
Bubbleman nodded as unknown to them Dr. Crowler was smirking as he spied on the class.
'Enjoy your nap, because soon you'll be a permanent resident of the Shadow Realm.' he thought.
Later that night Dr. Crowler was hiding near the lighthouse waiting for his surprise guest to show. He is sure that he grabbed the right guy, he had made lots of phone calls to make sure the guy he hired is the right one. Hearing footsteps approaching, Dr. Crowler turned around, grinning. "So you're the one they call the Shadow Duelist."
"My opponent's call me many things, but some are hard to discern from their shrieks of terror." the masked man stated as fog started to come from a briefcase he was holding.
"Oh my, very impressive effects." Dr. Crowler grinned looking at the man's outfit from multiple angles. "Oh yes, you'll do very nicely."
"What's the job?" the masked man questioned looking at him.
Clearing his throat Dr. Crowler gave him the assignment. "I want you to fright someone so intensely, that he leaves this Academy and never comes back! Up to the challenge?"
"Consider it done." the masked man stated as he faded away into a fog. "Not just by scaring that person, but by banishing him to the Shadow Realm."
"Hm... well alright if you insist." Dr. Crowler smirked.
He left as Dr. Crowler was left in thought. 'Banished to the Shadow Realm... well he sure is one to keep his act together.' Then he turned smirking to himself. 'Now with this Jaden will be so scared, they will leave the island to get away, and nothing can be traced back to me! Oh, I'm such a genius!'
At the same time Jaden, Syrus, and Chumley were looking for the abandoned dorm.
"You guys didn't had to come if you didn't want too." Jaden spoke to them as from the story last night the two are a bit afraid of being to a place of Shadow Games despite being assured by Jaden that he, and Yubel's powers over darkness will keep them safe.
"Well... it's probably safer with you than on our own." Syrus admitted.
"As long as we don't drop into some dirty swamp water." Chumley spoke up himself.
"Very funny, you didn't take a bath last night cause you were worried about that." Syrus gave a dull look towards Chumley for that.
Suddenly Jaden paused. "Hold on, did you hear that?" They stopped freezing listening it before suddenly they heard a twig snapped that Syrus, and Chumley yelped, and Jaden turned quick shining his flashlight at who was there. They saw Alexis as she was shielding her face. Seeing her Jaden blinked lowering down his flashlight. "Alexis?"
"What are you doing here?"
"I was gonna ask you the same." Jaden admitted. "You came to check the Abandoned Dorm too?"
"That's what I should be asking you, don't you know it's forbidden to go to the abandoned dorm?" Alexis questioned.
"Yeah we were told, we're not worried though me, and Yubel have powers over darkness so maybe we can rescue the missing students." Jaden told her what he told done Syrus, and Chumley prior. "We're not sure what kind of dark powers lurk though so we can't say it's a safe bet."
Alexis paused before she sighed. "Fine, come on I know the way. And actually there's something I wanted to ask you about Jaden."
While they walked together, Jaden paid attention for what Alexis wants to ask him. "What is it, Lex?"
"That monster, Terra Firma." Alexis answered. "Where did you get him?"
Huh, a good question, he haven't thought about it in a long time how he gotten Terra Firma. But he still kept that card close, and for a long time it been with him, not longer then Yubel herself of course, but certainly when he was a kid. "Well, back in my neighborhood while I still have Yubel, I was close to someone... I didn't take much interest in dueling, and preferred baseball. One time, I broke my leg, and was at the hospital where I met him, the guy who helped me get into dueling in the first place. He was amazing."
Alexis blinked at that not expecting it. "I didn't expect that." She didn't peg Jaden as the type to not be interested into dueling, but surprises are everywhere it seems.
"Well, me, and him talked a lot, and he had told me a lot about Dueling especially with Duel Academy's existence, after he had rescued me after I nearly slipped oneday while heading to the bathroom." Jaden spoke a soft smile on his face as he recalled this. "He encouraged me to start dueling so we can pass the time which I took with Yubel being the card I hold dear to try summoning. He was amazing, a professional duelist, and although he went easy on me as I was a beginner we dueled about 70 times, and I only won 2 of them. Although for some reason whenever he duels seriously, his health deteriorates... so he decided to give up Pro Dueling, and gave me his Deck. The Elemental HERO Deck you see me use now, which includes Terra Firma." He then smiled over towards her. "I alter it slightly but it's like how he uses it."
"That... I see." Alexis nodded. She knows what that should mean. "Jaden, was his name Koyo Hibiki by any chance?"
Jaden blinked surprised hearing that. "You know him?" Not by his Professional Duelist career but if she had personally met him.
"Well, not personally, but I know his career and actually it was after watching one of his duels I pulled my ace monster." Alexis admitted explaining where she got her own ace card. "Splendid Venus."
"Oh yeah, that card... ya know Terra Firma, and her feel a bit similar... at least what is what Yubel said." Winged Kuriboh appeared beside his head letting out some kuris over that Jaden perked towards him, and smiled. "Hey, don't worry bud, I'm sure there is nothing wrong, if Yubel says their okay, then they are. Besides Terra Firma, and Splendid Venus being similar to each other, doesn't that make you curious?" Winged Kuriboh let out another kuri expressing that admittedly he is also curious.
"I don't know what the connection between them is, but I think we should keep an eye out for any other cards like them... that said though, the dorm is just up ahead... do you mind if I take care of something?" Alexis asked seeing they are getting near the Abandoned Dorm.
"Sure."
"Any idea what they are talking about?" Chumley whispered to Syrus not getting what it is they are talking about while Syrus only shrugged not getting it either. Oh well, they can just ask them later.
Arriving at an old looking dorm Alexis frowned and walked over to it as she softly closed her eyes.
"That's... the Abandoned Dorm...?"
"Spooky..."
Chumley, and Syrus shuddered hugging each other from seeing the Dorm feeling really afraid from it's ghastly like appearance. Jaden stared over... he, Yubel, and Winged Kuriboh all together can sense dark powers coming from this Dorm, and if the rumors are right is capable of students going missing. What kind of dark powers exactly? Well their gonna find out, and if they can rescue those students.
Alexis meanwhile placed something in front of it. "We should head back, if we're caught here we could all end up getting expelled."
"Hang on, Lex, me, and Yubel still need to find those students." Jaden spoke over towards her.
"They aren't there Jaden... everyone's looked... and never found a thing." Alexis frowned. "I should know, since... one of the people who went missing was my older brother."
"Your brother?" Jaden asked widening his eyes. Now it makes sense why she's here, it's personal for her.
"Yes." she nodded frowning.
Jaden stared at her while thinking. If her brother really was missing, then it makes all the more reason for what he, and Yubel are about to do. Saving innocent lives, they are certainly going to do that if these students are still missing, and even finding Alexis' brother as well. So he turned back towards the Abandoned Dorm, and looked to Yubel. "Well Yubel ready to start this operation?"
"Almost, what about the others?" Yubel asked glancing at Chumley and Syrus.
Jaden turned over seeing the two are looking afraid to come closer. "If you two don't want to come along, you can stay out here or back at the dorm. Either way, me, and Yubel aren't wasting this chance." He turned running towards the Abandoned Dorm as he hollered to Alexis. "I'll find your brother Alexis, that's a promise!"
"Jaden..." Alexis whispered before hearing a twig snap as she turned to see the masked man as she screamed in terror.
Jaden was looking around in the dorm seeing carvings of the Millennium Items on the walls as he flashed his flashlight around seeing them while Chumley, and Syrus were there huddling close together. Jaden, and Yubel are using dark powers to keep anything from popping up onto them before Jaden shines his flashlight onto a picture of a brown haired boy somewhat resembling Alexis.
"That boy, he must be her brother." Yubel noted. "I can see the resemblance."
"Yeah, he, and the others are probably somewhere here." Jaden spoke looking around before then they heard a scream.
"AAAAAAHHH!" Chumley, and Syrus already on tensed edge from being inside the dorm itself screamed when they heard the scream.
"That sounded like Alexis!" Jaden cried running and into the forest with his flashlight to try and find her while Syrus and Chumley fearfully ran after him in case something happened only for them to soon here a second scream from back inside the dorm.
"Your majesty, something is down at the dorm below!" Dark Shield quickly spoke towards Jaden over him, and his fellow Evil HEROs sensing something just appeared.
Jaden frowned but nodded running back into the dorm. "Yubel, something's wrong we need to get her out of here safely."
"I know." she whispered putting a hand over his deck as it glowed golden briefly.
"Jaden!" Chumley, and Syrus yelled as they quickly followed him back towards the dorm.
"Come on, let's go!" Seeing a hallway Jaden ran through, and sees a staircase down that he starts to run down, all running down together down the stairs while Chumley groaned again about running. Arriving deep within the dorm they see a large room where they find Alexis unconscious in a demonic coffin. "Alexis!"
Suddenly they heard some laughing looking around seeing no-one. "She can't hear you... She is locked away in the Shadow Realm..."
"Who's there!?"
Jaden's holler had triggered something as shadows gathered in front of them before something rose from within. He lifted his head revealing himself to be the Shadow Duelist. "Your worst nightmares coming true."
"What did you do to Alexis?" Jaden glared at him.
"Her mind is about to cross over towards the Shadow Realm, the only way to get her back is to defeat me, Titan, in a Duel." the Shadow Duelist smirked over towards him.
Jaden frowned at that before placing his deck in his Duel Disk. "Fine, but I promise you I'll get Alexis out safely."
Seeing this Titan smirked as he activated his Duel Disk built into his coat while Chumley, and Syrus stepped back to watch scared but standing behind Jaden.

When it cleared they see they are are what looks like a part of hell itself with the landscape of stone gargoyles around with a red hue around with centipede statues as well alongside a pool of lava at the center.

Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, you must pay 500 LP (this is not optional), or this card is destroyed. When resolving an opponent's card effect that targets this card, roll a six-sided die and negate that effect if you roll a 1, 3, or 6, and if you do, destroy that card.
"And now Skull Lightning attack that weakling!" The stronger Archfiend charged lightning in it's hands blasting over at Yubel who chuckled ready with her ability.
Yubel was defended with thorns before charging in around Titan who looked around before yelling out. (Titan: 1500/Hand: 2) While his Life Points were decreasing some parts of his body started vanishing.
"Huh, what's going on?" Chumley asked nervously seeing that.
"The Shadows desire the souls of those who duel, and whoever loses will lose their soul." Titan spoke over after recovering from Yubel's effect.
However Jaden, and Yubel are not fooled themselves. To prepare Jaden with Haou's powers, he had experienced real Shadow Games, and from seeing this, although Titan is a good poser, and his expertise is top-notch, they can tell this is a fake Shadow Game.
"It's the field right?" Jaden asked Yubel.
"It's what causing us to see things." Yubel confirmed over.
"I end my turn."

Jaden drew his card. "I summon Gruesome Grave Squirmer." Raising up was some sort of mummy like fiend.

"Then, I activate the trap Eternal Favorite." A trap then flipped up revealing Yubel seeming to be doing something.

"Hm?" Titan raised an eyebrow from this.
"This card has two effects, but for now I'll discard a card and send Eternal Favorite to the graveyard to perform a Fusion Summon. The catch is I can use monsters on either field, so I'll merge Gruesome Grave Squirmer, Yubel, and Skull Archfiend of Lightning together." Jaden revealed as the three monsters flew up into a Fusion Vortex. "I Fusion Summon, Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever!"
Emerging from the Fusion Portal was Yubel having a dragon head on her arm like Flame Wingman's as she smirked over towards Titan.

If this card is Fusion Summoned: You can inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each material used. You can only use this effect of "Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever" once per turn. Cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects, also you take no battle damage from battles involving this card. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card battled an opponent's monster: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to that opponent's monster's ATK, and if you do, banish that monster.
"You used my monster?" Titan's eyes widen seeing this before sneering. "But it has no Attack Points, and I don't have a monster, so that was a waste!"
"When Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever is Fusion Summoned I deal 500 points of damage for every material used for her summon, and I used three." Jaden answered.
"What?" Yubel flew over smirking, and readied the dragon head blasting Titan as yelled out.

"Nooooooo."
Titan collapsed down after losing while something golden was knocked off his coat shattering.
"Huh, what was that?" Chumley asked seeing it.
They ran over as they checked the remains before Syrus takes a piece seeing the Eye of Wjadet. "Looks like a fake Millennium Item..." Which should explain what their seeing wasn't real after all.
Jaden frowned before running over. "Alexis, hey can you hear me?"
Alexis slowly groaned waking up looking over. "J-Jaden... what's going on here?"
"It's a long story, but you're ok now." Jaden grinned. "That creep who kidnapped you can't hurt anyone anymore. Let's head back."
Alexis nodded as they get out before she looks around. "Where are the missing students?"
"Unfortunately, their nowhere to be found." Yubel spoke to her, and Jaden. "They appear to be in somewhere deep, that we are currently unable to access as of now."
"We'll find them, I promise." Jaden whispered as the five of them started to leave only for Alexis to notice a picture.
Seeing it she gasped getting out of Jaden's arm over to the picture.
"Alexis?" Syrus asked noticing that.
She knelled down softly taking the picture, and staring at it.
"Huh, who's that?" Chumley asked her.
"It's... Atticus." Alexis hugs the picture close to her.
Seeing that Jaden gently hugged her. "We'll find him, somehow... I promise we will."
They rose up walking out of the Abandoned Dorm where Dr. Crowler later checked in to see if Titan done his job but only noticed the Pandemonium card that he had torn apart out of frustration. Even if this plan didn't go as well, he still had a secret weapon.
