Scott stared through the amber scotch whiskey in his crystal glass at Adrienne Frost and smiled as the warmth of the expensive liquor hit him.
Adrienne was so pretty, he thought.
A thought the platinum blonde girl in white next to him picked up on and glared pointedly at him for, jabbing him sharply in the side with her elbow.
For Emma, this dinner or feast as her new boyfriend Scott liked to call it in lack of a better education on the finer things in life like she had, was merely work and felt like it. For Scott it was an opportunity to sit back and drink alcohol he could never pronounce or see outside of Emma's connections and ogle at her eldest sister Adrienne fucking Frost.
The stupidest and vapidest girl Enma had ever known.
Scott was not the type to stare at women but something about her outrageously aristocratic and bitchy cruel oldest sister captivated the oblivious mutant like no other.
She was the opposite of his type and so was Emma yet here they were she thought as she rolled her eyes at his clueless smile and stupor while draining her own crystal goblet down.
Emma ignored Adrienne's throaty laughter as her sister's bust threatened to spill out over the table and tried not to think about her own in comparison, bitingly thinking of Adrienne's own 19 years on her 16 years of age.
Three years seemed insurmountable at her age and Emma cast a worried and furtive look at Scott who contentedly sat back and smiled wide at Adrienne showing a card trick and telling a raucous joke to a handful of young male admirers surrounding her and flanking every angle of her.
Scott seemed so mature and older to her at 17 yet in front of Adrienne he was as goofy as a little boy on Christmas Day.
He eagerly burst forward in laughter as she casually asked for a light and multiple hands enshrouded in the finest linen sleeves and dinner jackets of the darkest indigo blues and blacks held up various forms of flames to light a cigar protruding from her pout.
He turned to Emma and laughed, "Isn't she great? You never told me you had an older sister Emma. Or any family actually come to think of it."
Emma stared straight ahead with clear precise pale glass blue eyes, and answered quietly, "I don't. I have no family they disinherited me and that's not my sister that's a stuck up bitch I don't know."
"You're kind of new to this boyfriend thing aren't you?"
Scott stopped smiling and stared at Emma worriedly, "Uh, what? We aren't-. What?"
Emma rolled her eyes and stomped on his foot much to his dismay, "Why do you think I invite you to these things as my *date*?"
Scott stopped and stared, at a serious loss for words.
He quietly replied, "I didn't know you thought that.
I thought we were just friends or work enemies for mutantkind or something.
Xavier makes me go with you to your shit because I have to I don't ask questions we X-men are just civil servants and his foot soldiers the way I see it.
I'm not your boyfriend. I don't really even know you."
