For those tuning in for the first time, please read 'Shadow of the Black Arrow' and 'Dual Red and Black Arrows' before reading here. It will help clear a few things up that may not make sense at first. I own Macy Monroe aka Black Arrow. The rest of the characters belong to their respected owners behind DC Comics, Green Lantern Animated, and Batman Brave and Bold. Oh, and be sure to catch any episode references involving the Brave and the Bold universe either here or later in the future on next chapters. Also, you might see another character that's not exactly mine nor belong to the DC Universe. But that might be a while. You'll see soon. ;D

I hope you all enjoy this story. Especially when this plot was done mainly by my best user friend and collaborator, Alvaxerox. He truly helped me a lot in putting this whole story summary as much as the title in the first place. Give him some love and credit, too.

Revenge and Revelations

Macy gazed at the starry nights of her home city. She couldn't help but reminisce on something that happened long ago. One that started her path in becoming the Black Arrow.

"There's a lot of things you don't know about, Queen," Macy muttered, giving a gentle sigh. "Including me. Ones where I don't know if you'll understand what I had to do needed to be done. Will you and Speedy see me the same way if you knew? Or so different that you both never want to see me ever again?"

She closed her eyes, as she remembers that day... From a long time ago... Before she became the Black Arrow.

~Three years ago...~

Fourteen-year-old Macy was making her way back home from high school after hours on the archery team. So far, it's been a good day for the young teen. Aced her algebra, made the guy jocks eat their words for underestimating her, and adjusted some new trick arrows in secret without getting caught. Nothing could ruin the young Brunette's day.

...Or so she thought.

"Don't worry, mom, I'll be fine at my friends' sleepover this weekend," Macy assured to her mother on the phone, adjusting her backpack and bow. "You and dad will still see me again before it's dark."

"All right, Honey Bear, be safe," Macy's mom, Cindy, replied on the other end. "Love you."

"I love you, too, mom. Tell dad I love him, too, when he gets back from work," Macy said, smiling before saying her goodbyes to hang up her call. She then took a breath of relief. "Everything is going to be just fine."

Suddenly, Macy heard a crowd of people screaming and running opposite from where she was going.

"Whoa! Hey!" Macy exclaimed, almost getting ran over. "Where's the fire?!"

Once the crowd cleared, Macy gasped in shock when seeing something beyond the ordinary.

There were people with starfishes with one eye on their faces carrying other weird stars sticking them to other people's faces. They even started moving like zombie drones.

"Something tells me that things are not going to be fine," Macy stated, her left eye twitching and head tilting.

The Brunette then sees the people with mini starfishes on their faces walking by and muttering two words. "Starro lives. Starro lives. Starro lives.".

She immediately ran to an alleyway, took the fire escape, and went to higher ground to see what was happening from above. It was total chaos down there!

"What the heck is going on here?!" Macy exclaimed, unable to look away. "Where's Green Arrow!? Why isn't he handling this!? ...And who or what the heck is Starro!?"

Macy then notices more among the starfish faced crowd. She sees several superheroes; Blue Beetle, Huntress, Black Lighting...even Green Arrow, his sidekick Speedy, and Black Canary. They too have starfishes on their faces and chanted the words with the crowd.

"Starro lives. Starro lives,"

Macy was devastated. Green Arrow and Speedy were acting like zombies along with the other superheroes that are infected with the starfishes.

Macy got herself together by taking a deep breath and letting it out.

"No time to panic. I got to focus," Macy told herself, taking out her backpack to unzip before running to a hiding spot. "There's several heroes turned into star-faced zombies trying to turn others like them."

The Brunette switched clothes from her regular suit to her Green Arrow costume. She had the green hat with a red feather on her left side, the green short sleeved dress shirt, the green legging pants, the red gloves, and the red boots. Even had the black mask on covering her upper face yet had her bright brown eyes noticeable.

"While the real remaining heroes come to the rescue with no surprise of Batman leading them, I'll focus in saving as many survivors as possible and avoid the brainwashed superheroes," Macy spoke out loud, adjusting her holster carrying her special arrows. "Non-lethal arrows only. Luckily, I have a few boxing glove arrows I collected."

Once dressed up, Macy came out in her Green Arrow costume with her bow ready while on the move.

"Let's do this," Macy said, using Green Arrow's voice while having her game face on.

And so, the young archer girl was ready to fight back against the starfish faced zombies and protect any survivors she sees. As a substitute of Green Arrow.

~Present...~

Macy's train of thought was interrupted by a loud crash not far from her area. She quickly suits up as Black Arrow and swiftly investigates.

She hears moaning. It was like a weak voice. Like a man's voice. And he was breaking things. So, she went in the direction of the noises.

She stood in the shadows, exploring around an alley cautiously. So far, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. It didn't take long for Black Arrow's instincts kicking in where she grabbed her taser arrow, turned around, and shot it super-fast. The arrow made a direct hit on whatever was about to attack her.

"Bullseye," Black Arrow muttered, grabbing another non-lethal arrow while proceeding with caution. "Now let's see who or what tried to get the drop on me."

As soon as she got close for a better look, Black Arrow's expression immediately changed from brave...to petrified in horror.

"No...It can't be..." Black Arrow said, taking a step back with her hands on her weapons shaking. "Not these things again! It's impossible!"

In front of the Archerette in Black on the ground weakly struggling...was a Starro spore!

It was about to weakly escape until the evil starfish was squashed hard and rapidly by Black Arrow's right foot multiple times. She then scrapped the assumed destroyed alien parasite with a trash lid, dumped it in a trashcan, and closed the lid before sitting on top of the can so the prisoner won't escaped.

Black Arrow just breathed heavily. If she hadn't had her mask on, people would see the terror and trauma all over her.

"They're back...those things are still alive!" Black Arrow exclaimed, grabbing her communicator. "I got to warn Green Arrow!"

Elsewhere, on the side of Star City, Green Arrow was stopping some muggers from stealing plutonium. He then got a call from Black Arrow on his communicator. "Black Arrow. Hey, what's up-?"

"ARROW!" Black Arrow shouted from the other line, startling Green Arrow. "Meet me at the alleyway of Conroy Avenue as soon as possible! PLEASE! It's an emergency!"

Green Arrow can tell from Black Arrow's voice that she was panicking. "Okay, I'm on my way, right now," He said, as he used his grabble arrow.

Black Arrow waited anxiously, still sitting on top of the trashcan lid.

"It's going to be fine...everything will be fine..." Black Arrow muttered, still shaking and rubbing her arms to calm down. "That starfish is not going anywhere, so long as I stay put."

As she waited, she started to hear footsteps walking towards the alley. The shadow looked like it was star-shaped.

"AAAHHH!" Black Arrow screamed in panic; firing a boxing glove arrow that almost hit Green Arrow if he didn't duck in time.

"Black Arrow, calm down, it's me!" Green Arrow shouted, trying to calm the Archerette in Black down.

"Oh, thank goodness, it's just you," Black Arrow sighed in relief. "Sorry about that. I thought you were another evil alien parasite."

"Evil alien parasite?" Green Arrow asked. "What are you talking about?"

"Those starfish spores! Starro's mini versions of itself!" Black Arrow exclaimed, freaking out while jumping off the trashcan she was sitting on yet kept it closed. "One of them tried to attack me here in this alley, and I have it trapped in this trash can right now!"

Green Arrow was shocked when Black Arrow explained about the Starro Spore.

"What?! A Starro spore survived!? And you have it in that trash bin?!" Green Arrow asked with caution in his voice. He remembered when he was under the mind control of Starro the Conqueror. "Show me!"

"Stand back. We don't know whose face it might try to latch on to when we open the lid," Black Arrow warned, adjusting the bin to release what's inside in a safe distance. "Ready?"

"Ready," Green Arrow replied, with his arrow ready.

Taking a deep breath, Black Arrow open the lid wide and battle cried on tasering it again...only to see it was empty.

"What?!" Black Arrow exclaimed in shock, dropping the trashcan. "Where did it go!?"

"Umm...Black Arrow, where's the spore?" Green Arrow asked. "Because I'm seeing a whole lot of nothing."

"It was right there, Green Arrow!" Black Arrow stated, looking back on the trashcan, the lid, and around the alley. "I swear, I did come across that thing! I don't know how they could still be alive but I saw one! We need to find it before it multiplies and brainwashes the city again!"

Green Arrow then grabbed Black Arrow's shoulders. "Black Arrow, calm down. I don't think you really saw a Starro spore. Even if you did, we already destroyed all of them after B'wana Beast sacrificed himself. Maybe you're just a little unedged. Why don't you go home and get some rest. You definitely look like you need it." He suggested.

Black Arrow paused, taking a breather. "Maybe you're right, Arrow. I could be worrying over nothing. I should turn in early."

"Good. Like I said, Batman, me, and the other heroes all made sure that every single spore of Starro was all destroyed." Green Arrow explained one more time. "Just take care of yourself, okay? Goodnight."

"Yeah...Night, Green Arrow," Black Arrow replied, making her way to the fire escape and taking her leave. "Tell Speedy I said goodnight to him, too."

Green Arrow simply replied; "Will do," He then shoots another grapple arrow and leaves into the city of the night.

Although making her way home, Black Arrow couldn't shake off that scary feeling of something big was coming. And, deep down, she believed what she saw was real.

'I'm sure Green Arrow's right. Those starfish spores were destroyed years ago,' Black Arrow thought to herself. 'I need to get some sleep. I'll be refresher in the morning. Maybe, after that, I can look around better for more evidence to prove what I saw was real...or fake.'

Although, unbeknownst to her, when getting back home, she didn't notice that her shoe...had some kind of weird-looking liquid plasma oozing out.
