Summary; Anakin Skywalker dies in the arms of his son, and thinks that while this isn't how it

should have ended, it was what he deserved. The next thing he knows, he's on Geonosis just

before his fight with Dooku.

Anakin Skywalker closed his eyes and allowed himself to die. The last thing he heard was his son

whispering that he wouldn't leave him. 'I regret everything. If I could, I would stop it, all of it. I

would save them all. But this is what I deserve, to fade away.' He thought to himself, as he felt

the force drift him away. And then he found himself falling and rocketing through the force. When

he opened his eyes, he saw Obi-Wan and Padme. In the gunship. On Geonosis.

"What?" He muttered in absolute confusion. Obi-Wan shot him a look, and oh god, the man who

raised him, he couldn't help himself, he wrapped the sarcastic bastard in a hug, he felt Obi-Wan

return it.

"Anakin, what's wrong? Are you alright?" His master, brother, father asked. He couldn't speak; he

could only enjoy the moment, and then he pulled back. And then he saw her, and force it was over

for him. It took everything in him not to go to her right then. But there was something he could

do, he used the force to make sure she stayed in the ship, as he kept them steady until they finally

reached the hangar.

"Senator, clones stay with the ship. Obi Wan we have a Count to kill." With that, he marched over

to where the Count was attempting to escape, and when he saw him, he saw red. One moment he

was at Kenobi's side, the next his lightsaber was in his hand and was being blocked by the aged

Sith. He couldn't hear a word anyone was saying, but he could speak. With each word, he

hammered a crisp blow onto the older man.

"You tried to kill my father! Your men planned to rape my wife! You're going to die! And then

I'll destroy your compatriots!" Anakin's words were a snarl, his eyes were a blood red, his

lightsaber sliced off Dooku's right arm, then his left, and then his lightsaber was at his throat.

His mind then forcefully entered the Count's mind, and he ripped the information from him. And

he pushed all the rage he felt into his foe's head. He drew his arm back to deliver the killing

blow, but a hand found his arm, and a voice whispered into his ear.

"You can stop, he's beaten. Let it go." Anakin froze, and with a careful movement, he deactivated

his lightsaber, and then he turned around, and watched Obi-Wan's face go white with horror, and

sadness and confusion.

"Anakin, your eyes. What happened?" Obi-Wan's concern caused his eyes to tear up, he looked at

him, and then with effort he spoke.

"A lifetime has happened. Twenty-five years have passed for me, and in that time, I have done

terrible things, I have lost things that no man could ever understand. I have suffered things that

would drive even the sanest of men to madness." Anakin's voice is a quiet and weary thing, his

eyes blue again. Obi-Wan's expression stayed in the same horrified mask, while Anakin held his

gaze, eventually, Kenobi's expression changed to one of pity and sadness.

"Your eyes, they're older than even Yoda's, one day, you'll have to explain what happened. Am I

right in assuming that I'm the father you mentioned?" Obi-Wan's tone was soft, his hand stayed

on Anakin's arm, a grounding presence.

"You are correct, you raised me, have been there for everything, and eventually you train the

person who comforted me at my end. I'd appreciate it if we didn't discuss the matter of my

marital status until certain events have been prevented." Obi-Wan gave a slight smile at him,

before he pulled him into a hug, which he returned. For a moment, they stayed like that, and

Anakin felt something heal in his chest.

"I love you, dad," Anakin whispered. he heard Obi-Wan gasp, and then he spoke.

"I love you, too, son." And then it was time. He pulled back again and walked over to where

Padme had entered the room, and he gathered her into a hug, and he couldn't let go, couldn't look

at anything. All he had done fell away, the nightmare was over, but the mission wasn't.

"Angel, my Angel. Please forgive me." He whispered brokenly into her ear, his body shook, and

she rubbed his back. And he wept into her, and for a moment, nothing mattered but her.

"Ani, it's ok. Whatever it is, you're alright." Her words were a balm to his soul, and they healed

a part of him that had longed for her for twenty-three misery-filled years.

"Once I've killed the Separatist council, and killed the one pulling the strings, I will retire on

Naboo with you. Leave everything behind." Anakin whispered into her ear, and she sighed

fondly into his. At this moment, he knew that everything would be all right. Eventually, Yoda

entered the room, but he didn't care. He did pull back a bit from Padme, but only so he could

draw her into his side. He then walked them over to the Grand Master and Obi-Wan. She looked

at him in confusion, and he sent her a reassuring look.

"Master Yoda, father, there are things that the four of us need to discuss. Things you need to

know so that events do not happen as they did." Anakin began. The green old Jedi assessed him

curiously.

"What events speak of do you, young Skywalker?" Yoda asked, and Anakin sighed before he spoke.

"What I'm about to tell you is condensed and doesn't cover the entirety of it. Three years from

now, Chancellor Palpatine casts off his disguise, revealing himself as the Sith Lord and

mastermind Darth Sidious. He uses his position to orchestrate the eradication of the Jedi. In the

process, he becomes emperor of the galaxy and destroys countless lives, including mine. For

twenty-three years, I laid a trail of blood across the galaxy, mired in suffering. Today, we prevent

this from happening. I know where the Separatist council is; they are going to die, Palpatine is

going to die. When the dust settles, I'm turning in my saber and retiring." His words are careful,

his tone measured and controlled. The reactions are different for each one. Yoda nodded sadly,

Obi-Wan smiled reassuringly, and Padme squeezed his arm in comfort. Anakin had closed his

eyes so he couldn't see the look of shared compassion the three had for him. His heart healed just

a little at their support.

Timeskip one week Mygeeto

Anakin stalked through the halls of the Separatist and Corporate Alliance headquarters, his eyes

a flaming red. He cut through the droids and guards with ease, then the servants and anyone else

who was loyal to them. Along the way, he set fire to the halls, burning everything down in his

wake. Eventually, he came upon their meeting room. He blasted the doors off their hinges, and

then he descended on them. One by one, they all fell, until only Gunray remained. His left hand lit

up with black lightning, and his face changed into a snarl.

"M…mercy, please! I b…beg you." The pathetic Viceroy begged, the lightning blazed from his

hand and hit his target, which made him scream.

"You were going to rape my wife! I have killed my mercy, and now you will die, slowly."

Anakin growled, his eyes blazing with darkness, his skin covered in blood. It wasn't long before

the slime was dead. He spat on the corpse and then left, one last location left before it was over.

Palpatine's office

Chancellor Palpatine was sitting at his desk, fuming. All his plans thus far had gone up in smoke.

His apprentice, arrested by the Jedi, the Separatist council, and Grievous, dead. The clones had

been deprogrammed, his one chance at executing the Jedi with ease gone. Then the door blew

open and he saw him. Anakin Skywalker, his eyes blazing with red and yellow, his jaw dropped in

shock.

"What is this? You fell? Impossible!" Sidious demanded incredulously. The boy, no, the man

before him, stared at him, and then he approached with slow, predatory movements, like a Rancor

stalking its prey. His throat was suddenly choked by an invisible force, and he couldn't stop him.

His hands clenched and unclenched uselessly, and then his head was separated from his

shoulders, and it was done. His last thoughts were, 'This cannot be, I was supposed to win.'

Timeskip one hour later Jedi temple

Anakin walked over to Yoda in the council chambers, unclipped his lightsaber, and gave it to him.

He then turned and walked away, his destination, Padme's residence at 500 Republica. It didn't

take long for him to enter their home, and he collapsed into her arms, and allowed himself to

finally break down. All twenty-three years of pain were wept into her. She whispered soothing

words into his ears, and he could only cry harder.

"I love you, I love you, I love you." He whispered into her ear, a mantra of his soul. She just kept

rubbing his back soothingly. 'The nightmare is over.' He thought to himself. They married on

Naboo, and Anakin at last found peace.

"Your home now, Ani. It's all over now, just rest." Padme whispered to him in their bed on

Naboo, and so he did.
