Chapter 1659
Time To Go
Mary, Laura, and Leticia watched and encouraged Holly-Cam and Tricia to clean up big with the card games.
Young Jesse looked a little worried.
Hanna-Camille noticed. She didn't want any problems.
"This isn't the casino where the girls ran into a problem before." Hanna-Camille said.
Young Jesse wondered what Cammy, Sheila, and Ally were actually up to. The visual aspect of a casino and its surroundings only went so far. Even if it wasn't controlled by the Syndicate, it was still a Syndicate town.
"I think everything is nice and looks fancy, but this isn't my cup of tea." Young Jesse said. "Maybe there won't be any trouble now, but what about going forward?"
Hanna-Camille thought maybe she could take Young Jesse elsewhere.
"There are other places we can go." Hanna-Camille said. "There are places to eat as well. We can just look at different things."
Young Jesse heard about one place in particular. She thought it was a joke when she first heard the name.
"I heard about some kind of a burger joint called the 'Heart Attack Hut'." Young Jesse said. "You know they always show programs about the States, Down Under. Sometimes it's hard to tell what's real and what's 'Hollywood' the way things are presented."
Young Jesse actually wondered about the news. It seemed to be the same thing as far as the way it was presented. She really thought the mainstream news media should be considered what they actually were, part of a political party, not an actual news outlet.
Hanna-Camille wasn't sure if she liked the name of the establishment. It sounded rather extreme. With a name like the 'Heart Attack Hut' it sounded dangerous. She was aware of the location. She looked at all of the brochures in the lobby of the hotel section of the tallest casino in Las Vegas. It sounded more like a novelty than anything else.
"It might not be the healthiest choice." Hanna-Camille said. "Then again, we don't make it to the States very often, let alone to Las Vegas. We can do whatever you want. It seems like a location we could check out. Maybe we will see an ambulance at the establishment."
Young Jesse thought it would be nice just to look at the outsides of the fancy hotels and casinos. Maybe they could just cruise the Strip. Everything did look better at night in Las Vegas than it did during the daytime. During the daytime, it actually looked a little on the shabby side. The darkness helped hide the shabbiness. She really didn't like the little stores and shops between some of the large casinos. At night they tended to disappear in the grandeur of everything else around them.
She figured they would be better off in the SUV than on foot. It seemed to her it was a fairly long hike from one end of the Strip to the other from their current location. They were bound to run into a few blokes who were going to be rude to them, to say the least. There would probably be different types of negative interaction. It's possible it would lead to a termination. She wasn't about to take any guff from a hormone crazed Yank. She knew Camille would take even less.
There were plenty of troublemakers 'Down Under'. She knew if Camille didn't deal with a threat directly, one of the Terminators who watched over her family would. It didn't need to always happen right after the altercation either. It would usually happen within a few months though.
Mary, Laura, and Leticia watched as Holly-Cam and Tricia cleaned up on the card games.
The two Terminators made sure there was plenty of cleavage showing. Holly's chassis was always quite impressive. Everyone always thought she had the best 'rack', even if it wasn't as large as Gail's.
The Metal girls ran up quite a score on the Blackjack tables. The dealers were changed twice on both of them.
Laura remembered the story about what happened with the other Metal girls at the Syndicate run casino. She didn't want a similar issue to develop where they were at. Maybe she would try to put out a subtle reminder.
"I think we've seen enough of this place." Laura said. "There are a lot of other places to check out as well."
Mary could see Laura was a little nervous. She didn't think they needed to worry about anything. Leticia and her were in the florist shop when the Metal girls came through there like a tornado. Laura didn't see it firsthand like Leticia and her did. There was still more to see.
"There are a lot of other places." Mary said.
Leticia was ready to move on as well.
"I'm going to tell them to cool it." Leticia said.
Leticia went over and spoke with Tricia and Holly-Cam.
Tricia looked at the multitude of chips in front of her.
"What am I supposed to do with all of this?" Tricia asked.
Leticia could see it was thousands of dollars, probably hundreds of thousands of dollars.
"You can always bet it on the Wheel Of Fortune." Leticia said. "I can't think of a more sure way to lose the money. If you play Roulette, make sure you don't bet on red."
Tricia tilted her head slightly. She didn't see what difference it made what color she bet on. It was a fifty-fifty chance one would play out over the other.
Mary and Laura went over and talked with Holly-Cam. They indicated it was time to wrap it up and move on to the next place. There were quite a few places along the Strip. most of them weren't worth stopping at. The 'Downtown' segment didn't have anything to offer them either from their past experience.
Tricia collected her earnings in several trays. She handed them to Leticia.
"I'll let you place the bet since you haven't done much gambling." Tricia said.
Holly-Cam handed a tray of chips each, to Mary, and Laura.
It was only a very short time ago when the girls from the ship would be thrilled to have such a quantity of money available to them. Everything was different now. When money wasn't an issue, nothing needed to revolve around it as it did before.
"I'll let you girls deal with this." Holly-Cam said. "I've got my own 'rack'."
Holly-Cam's comment brought a round of laughter among the girls.
Cam really hoped she was going to be able to keep Holly's chassis. She could see how all the females looked at her with envy. She didn't care for the way all the males looked at her with lust. If anyone got grabby, they were in for a really big surprise. It wouldn't be a good one either. She could break any bone in their body in a fraction of a second. She could pulverize their entire hand if she wanted to. She would let the nature of the infraction dictate the response.
Leticia went to the Wheel of Fortune and told the dealer to put everything on the 'twenty times' bet.
The dealer looked a little nervous. There was a substantial quantity of money at stake by both the patron and the casino.
"It's an awful lot of money." The dealer said. "Are you sure you don't want to take more than one turn?"
Mary knew the Metal girls wouldn't have any trouble winning back any amount of money. From what they indicated, their 'controller' could provide them with 'unlimited funds' at any point in time. It was clear money didn't mean anything to the Metal girls. She took her tray of chips and set it down next to the two Leticia set down.
"Place mine on the 'twenty times' bet as well." Mary said.
Laura figured they might as well go for broke. If money wasn't a problem, there was no need to collect it at all at the first location and drag it around with them. She set her tray down next to Mary's tray."
"I want to make the same bet." Laura said. "Place it all on the 'twenty times' bet."
The dealer looked very nervous. He called over the 'Pit Boss'.
The 'Pit Boss' could see if the girls won, it would be several million dollars for the payoff. He wondered if he should call his supervisor.
Leticia didn't like the delay. She wanted to get things over with so they could move on to the next place.
"Just spend the wheel." Leticia said. "If you're afraid to do it, let my twin sister do it."
Trisha smiled at Leticia. She liked being called her 'twin sister'. He also knew she could calculate the amount of force needed to come up with the winning bet as she spun the wheel.
The 'Pit Boss' looked a little upset when the patron indicated he was afraid. He decided to do it and spun the wheel.
Holly-Cam wanted to make sure there wasn't any funny business. She flashed her 'All Access Pass'.
"Take two steps back away from the wheel." Holly-Cam said. "I want a fair spin on a real game of chance."
The 'Pit Boss' looked a little upset. He stepped back away from the wheel.
The girls all watched it spin down and slowly come to a stop on the 'twenty times' bet category.
Mary, Laura, and Leticia all let out a cheer. They jumped up and down and hugged each other.
The 'Pit Boss' and the dealer both look very worried.
There were a number of people who started to gather to see what was happening.
Holly-Cam flashed her 'All Access Pass' again at the 'Pit Boss'.
"You can add it to my account." Holly-Cam said. "You both can keep a handful of chips as a tip. Use good judgment when you do."
Holly-Cam knew it was a bad idea to leave one of the casinos with thousands in cash, unless they wanted to provoke an incident. She was sure it was exactly what Sheila, Ally, and Cammy were in the process of doing. She didn't know they were in the middle of an operation against a group of thugs.
The 'Pit Boss' scanned her 'All Access Pass'.
Mary, Laura, and Leticia were all ready to move on to the next location. Holly-Cam and Tricia agreed it was time to go. They were bound to draw even more scrutiny going forward. More than likely their images would be forwarded to other establishments in the city. What they didn't know was CamNet would prevent it. She would make them think they did, even when it didn't actually occur.

Young Allison was a little worried. She looked towards the locomotives. She really hoped there wasn't some kind of an incident. She watched as the train started to back up. The slack was knocked out of the couplers, one by one, as the train began to back up.
Clang - clang - clang - clang - clang - clang - clang - clang.
She was pretty sure they must have run over something. The only thing they would bother to back up for, would be a person. It wouldn't happen for an animal. There were no 'animal rights' in the past. She thought about how they would make the horses fall in a lot of the older westerns. There were wires attached to the hooves of the horses which the rider would pull up on causing the horse to trip and fall.
She remembered what Cameron said earlier about jumping from one moving train to another, if she decided to ride one north and come back. She didn't think Cameron would be in the way of a moving freight train at relatively slow speed. She figured it was probably a hobo. The individual could be incapacitated in some way. They could be drunk, or suffering injuries from some type of altercation. It looked like whatever their problem was, there was a much bigger one now.
Cameron turned east and followed Crystal. She remained in the shadows. She could hear, and then see, the freight train behind her start to back up.
Clang - clang - clang - clang - clang - clang - clang - clang.
She wanted to see where Crystal went. If she wasn't concerned with it right now, she would make her way back to the alley into the side street across from where the locomotives would be parked. She was fairly certain there was some type of incident with the two men she spotted earlier. The one man who wanted to procure an alcoholic beverage, probably came back on his own to do so. If it was him, it was one less termination she would need to perform, if the situation arose again.
Cameron stayed in the shadows as she tracked Crystal. She took a path which jogged back and forth over several streets. She noticed there was one area of greenery in Mojave. It actually surprised her. It didn't surprise her for long. It was the local cemetery.
She might stop by the 'garden of stone' on the way back and see what some of the dates were. She would rather find out what happened on the mainline next. Right now, it was the female she was concerned with.
It occurred to her if someone were to attempt to abuse the female, she could probably deal with it much better than the average female could. It would simply be like another trick, with no pay involved. She was probably short changed by more than one 'john' as it was. She remembered the girls from the future all told her, if they didn't resist, it was over with very quickly. When there was a gun to the side of their head, or a knife against their throat, it was going to happen anyway.
It reminded her of a cartoon she viewed once. It depicted an obvious street walker in the police station with a check in her hand. She told the police officer she would like to report some sexual abuse because the check bounced. It took her a short time to finally see the humor in it. It only became 'abuse', when she didn't get paid.
She watched Crystal look around and then head up a walkway to an old looking house. The walkway was just a dirt path. She watched her enter the house.
Cameron could hear a siren in the distance. She figured it had something to do with the reason why the train stopped abruptly, and then needed to back up for a short distance.
She moved up to the house. The light came on in one of the rooms. She looked around and moved over towards the window.
"Is it OK if I pay you in the same way I usually do?" Crystal asked.
"I hope so." A male voice said. "I'll baby sit anytime, for the same kind of - deal. I really appreciate it. You're as nice as you are pretty. You are very pretty."
Cameron could hear some 'personal interaction'. She was a little surprised when less than a minute later, the male thanked Crystal again. She decided to move away from the window. A few seconds later, the front door opened and a male came out. She watched him go across the front of the house, the house next door, and into the next house.
It seemed to her as if Crystal was a very good business woman. She was able to use her 'natural assets' to make her life work in more ways than one. She looked around and took off at a run and headed back toward the main street.
A short time ago:
The train stopped backing up. It only moved back about a dozen car lengths.
Young Allison heard a siren. She looked towards the south. She spotted an ambulance. It looked like a white hearse to her. If anything, it was a very boxy looking station wagon type affair. She was sure the ambulance was probably built on the same platform as a hearse. She watched it stop near where the locomotives were at. The siren was turned off, but the red lights remained on.
She was tempted to go down and take a look. She wasn't sure it was a good idea. It was the 'Witching Hour' already. She was bound to have some type of negative interaction with anyone she ran into. She wouldn't hesitate to use her Hi-Power either. She wouldn't just shoot them either. She would kill them. It was the only way to be sure.
Young Allison really missed not having a cell phone so she could communicate with Cameron. She missed not being able to get updates from CamNet or John Henry. She could use the com system or her telephone to do so. They really were on their own in the past.
If they ever got into a jam, it would probably be difficult to get out of. Well, without Cameron terminating a number of law enforcement officers in the process. It was something she knew Cameron could do since it was what Cromartie did with the FBI team and the police force in Mexico. It was also what the first Terminator who came after Sarah did in the police station in an attempt to terminate her.
She took one more look at the scene. There was a police car there now. She could see the white door with the big star on the side of it. She figured it was the Highway Patrol. It reminded her of the car she saw in the last season of the TV series, Highway Patrol.
Young Allison decided not to worry about it. She knew it wouldn't be Cameron.
Cameron most likely would have derailed the train. If her power cell ruptured, there would be nothing at the mainline location but a smoking hole in the ground. She was sure the windows in all the buildings around would be broken as well.
Young Allison decided to go back to bed. Nothing good ever happened during the 'Witching Hour' anyway.
Cameron took the direct route back to the alley, which ran behind everything on the main street. She moved at a steady pace. Once she entered the alley, she turned on the speed. She only slowed as she neared the two intersections she crossed. She didn't want to total somebody's car. She was hit by vehicles more than once. It always did much more damage to them than it did to her.
She passed in back of the motel where Young Allison was at. She stopped and took a quick look inside the courtyard parking area. She saw the desk clerk was standing out in front of the office on the street. She looked up towards their room. It was dark. She figured if the desk clerk was up and looking, Young Allison probably looked out the window as well.
Cameron continued down the alley. She moved up to the street she saw the men turn down earlier. It was the same street where the Highway Patrol car was parked at one point.
She moved up along the side of the diner to the main highway. There was an ambulance and a Highway Patrol cruiser parked along the mainline. There were half a dozen men standing around the location. There were several on the front platform of the locomotive.
Cameron listened to the discussion going on. There seemed to be some type of dispute between the ambulance driver and the ambulance attendant.
Time To Go
Most people are quite content
To stick with the status quo
Change is usually for the worse
Who don't think so
When things start to fall apart
Each next piece is like a domino
Everything is torn apart
Like a wild raging tornado
To try and sort it out
Will leave one spinning with vertigo
When they think they have control
They get hit with another unseen torpedo
There's no pot of gold
At the end of a rainbow
It's only another clown
With some useless warped manifesto
Take a good look around
There's darkness in every shadow
Crank the dynamo up a few notches
When it's time to go
Nobody
