A gentle breeze swept over Cedar Town as Jonathan, Celo, and Tony made their way through the quiet outskirts toward the airport. The early morning light lent everything a soft golden glow that promised new beginnings. Jonathan inhaled deeply, savoring the cool, crisp air. His heart raced with excitement at the thought of embarking on his first Pokémon journey away from home. Tucked securely in his bag was the mystery Pokémon egg gifted to him by his older sister, a secret treasure waiting to reveal its hidden potential. On his back, his steadfast partner Sludge relaxed contentedly, her eyes roaming the scenic vistas outside like a loyal guardian on watch.
'Today, the day we go on our first journey as Pokémon trainers.'Johnathan thought with a smile on his face.
As the trio walked along the tree-lined boulevard that led to the terminal, Jonathan's thoughts drifted back to fond memories of his early training days. He recalled the thrill of his annual camping trip with his father—a day marked with laughter, bravery, and the special moment when he first met Sludge, then a tiny, energetic Croagunk. Back then, the spark of his dream to become the best Fighting‑type master had been lit, and now every step he took felt like a leap closer to that goal.
Walking side by side, the conversation among friends grew livelier. Celo, with her ever-present sparkle in her eyes, glanced over at Jonathan as they passed a row of flowering hedges. "Hey, Johnny," she said, her tone playful yet curious, "I was wondering—why isn't Sludge in her Pokéball?"
Jonathan smiled, shaking his head as he replied, "Well, Sludge, though she doesn't
hate being in her Pokéball like some Pokémon do. She is happy out here, enjoying the fresh air and riding on my back. Besides, let's be honest, it's good for Pokémon to get out and stretch their legs now and then."
"Croagunk!" Sludge said in agreement with her trainer.
Tony nodded."He is right; people should go out now and then for fresh air, and it is good for Pokémon as well. As soon as we get to Kanto, I will probably let Drishell out for a while."
"That makes sense," Celo agreed with a smile, and the conversation lulled into a comfortable silence as they continued forward.
The journey toward the airport was not just a physical one—it was steeped in reflection and anticipation. Jonathan's mind wandered back over the events of the past few months: his rigorous training sessions, the gentle lessons from his mother at the lab, the camaraderie with his friends, the quiet moments of support from his father, and the cheerful encouragement of his older sister. Each memory was a stepping stone on his path, and as the contours of the town gave way to the bustling energy of the departure terminal, his resolve began to settle like the calm before a storm of adventure.
As the trio reached Cedar Town's airport, they paused as they took in their surroundings. The airport was a sleek white building with large glass windows that reflected the clear sky. People hurried by, rolling suitcases and carrying bags, each person united by the desire to explore new destinations. Jonathan took another deep breath as he imagined boarding the flight that would take him to the Kanto region, a land full of new Pokémon he hadn't seen, diverse habitats, and countless challenges for trainers.
"I can't wait to see the different Pokemon in Kanto and study how they live," Tony said, his eyes bright at the thrill of research and discovery.
Jonathan's gaze wandered across the busy concourse, and he could almost feel the weight of destiny pressing gently on his shoulders. Every step he took toward the terminal reminded him of the promise he had made to himself to become the greatest fighting type master; the memories of when he discovered his passion for fighting types mingled with his excitement of what was to come.
"You and your research," Celo said, shaking her head, as her words pulled Jonathan out of his reverie.
"That's Tony for you," Jonathan replied with a soft chuckle."He's always been the one for Pokemon research ever for as long as I've been in love with fighting types. Now, come on, let's find our flight terminal gate and relax a bit before it's time for our flight."
"Croa!" Sludge confirmed her readiness for the adventure.
"It seems that we're at terminal gate H," Tony sai, pointing at the large sign that read which terminal the flights left from."
"Then let's get going, we don't want to be late," Jonathan said.
The way to the terminal buzzed with energy and activity, the steady hum of conversations filling the space as travelers made their way to their terminal gates. Johnathan clutched his flight ticket. His mind flashed with the smiles of his family and his parents urging him to seize every challenge and follow his dreams.
Soon, the trio arrived and found a spacious waiting area adjacent to a row of departure boards and took a seat. Tony took out a black notebook and drew a sketch of Drishell and a few notes about his starter personality so far, while Celo carefully read a letter from her mother wishing her good luck on her journey and to always believe in herself.
Jonathan glanced at Sludge, who was sitting contentedly on his lap. There was a look of pure calm in her eyes—an unspoken symbol of the strong bond between trainer and partner. "Sludge, soon we'll be leaving Cedar Town. Together, let's conquer whatever challenges come our way," he said softly.
"Croagunk!" Sludge cried either and nodded in agreement.
Before long, a final boarding announcement echoed throughout the terminal: "We will now be boarding Flight 458 to the Kanto Region. Please proceed to the gate for boarding." A calm, feminine voice over the PA system signaled the time for the next step of their adventure.
Jonathan, Tony, and Celo exchanged one last look of solidarity. In that moment, leaving Cedar Town behind felt bittersweet, a farewell to the warmth and comfort of home balanced by the thrill of stepping into a boundless future. Every heartbeat, every memory from his past, and every word of encouragement echoed in Jonathan's mind as he prepared to board the flight that would launch them into the adventures of Kanto.
With their bags secure, the trio joined a steadily moving line of travelers heading toward the boarding area. As they advanced through the terminal, each step confirmed that this was indeed the beginning of something extraordinary. Jonathan pressed his cheek against the airplane window as he settled into his seat, watching Cedar Town gradually shrink into a tapestry of memories. The steady hum of the airplane engines mingled with the excitement in his heart, creating a rhythmic promise of challenges to overcome and dreams to fulfill.
During the flight, conversation flowed effortlessly. Tony enthusiastically discussed potential destinations and the rare Pokémon habitats he intended to research, while Celo spoke about her hope of discovering her passion and goals as a Pokémon trainer. Jonathan listened intently, cherishing every word and using them to fuel his determination; he was resolved not only to be a formidable battler but also to become a knowledgeable trainer who understood the very essence of fighting-type Pokémon with Sludge by his side.
