Life 5: Fallen Requiem
"Kanae-Chan… was a Fangire?"
Gasper, still in his Wataru getup, sat with Taiga at the bar of Café Mald'amour, which had been closed for the night. Taiga had a cup of Café au lait while Gasper had royal milk tea, both courtesy of Mimi who stood behind the booth. The elder dhampir took a sip of his drink before responding.
"Yes, I figured it out when I was collecting blood from everyone in Kuoh academy. I've… not had many opportunities to drink Fangire blood since I usually blow them up, but the taste is very unique, so I was able to deduce what she really was."
"And this was a while ago, right?"
"Yup, months before you even became a Rider."
"So why didn't you tell me?"
…
…
"I just… didn't think It was necessary."
"Why not, aren't we supposed to be fighting the Fangire?"
"The bad ones, yes. I may know just as little about them as you do, but I'll be damned if I let that turn my into a prejudice asshole like those Pure-Bloods back in Romania. If I started indiscriminately killing every Fangire, I'd be no better than those Vampire Hunters that killed-"
Taiga stopped himself, realizing what he was just about to say. But Gasper had already begun clenching his chest, having been reminded of that horrible night. It was then that Mimi went over to Taiga's side so she could whisper to him.
"What the hell, Taiga."
"I'm sorry, it just kind of slipped out."
"I'm not the one you should be apologizing to."
"I know that."
After taking a deep breath, Gasper managed to calm himself down before speaking again.
"I… think I understand, why you wanted to give her a chance."
"Oh… that's good, I'm glad we-"
"But you still should have told me about Kanae-Chan. I would have understood if you explained it from the beginning."
"Well, I know that now."
"S-So you didn't even trust me?"
"No, that's not what I meant. I do trust you, I just didn't want to put you through anymore unnecessary stress. Afterall, you were in a pretty deep depression that day."
"Then you should have said something after that, especially since you knew she would be at the music club with us. I could have helped with your plan."
"I guess, but I pretty much had it all covered."
"Until she escaped?"
Mimi interjected.
"That was an unforeseen variable."
"One that could have been avoided with Gaspers Balor view had he not been in shock."
"…Damn, you have a point."
"Either way, it's still your fault for letting her manipulate you."
"You think I don't know that? I already feel bad enough considering she was one of my friends, so-"
"SHE WAS MY FRIEND TO!"
Gasper yelled before he slammed his cup onto the table, causing it to shatter. The royal milk tea spilled everywhere, including his jeans. After a moment of silence, the young devil got up from his seat and walked away.
"Gasper, Wait!"
Taiga tried to reach out to his Kouhei, but…
"I Just… Need to be alone right now."
…Gasper left through the hallway door, leaving Mimi to clean up the mess with a rag and Taiga to contemplate in silence.
"This is… beyond troubling. Are you sure you're ok, Sona?
Rias Gremory was once again in the student council office with Sona Sitri, who had just finished recapping what she and her Knight remembered from the monster attack moments ago.
"Aside for the soreness in my neck, I am completely fine."
"Still, we were only gone for a minute and-"
"Do not blame yourself, Rias. This was just another case of unfortunate timing. And judging by that look of exhaustion, you must have gone through some trouble as well."
"Indeed. We had a last-minute client request come in, and Issei volunteered to fulfill it."
"Ah yes, your new Pawn. Was he able to use the teleportation circle this time?"
"Nope, had to take his bike as usual. But, by the time he arrived… the client was dead. Some Stray Exorcist broke into that poor man's home, killed him and nailed his corpse to the wall like he was displaying an art piece. It was sickening."
Many members of the church were trained from a young age to become Exorcists, warriors who are tasked with fighting the enemies of God, from Devils to Vampires and other Monsters that threaten Humanity. However, just like Devil Servants, Exorcists can also become Strays. Weather being exiled for going too far, or leaving of their own volition to pursue their own sinful desires.
"How deplorable, and I assume he was waiting for Issei?"
"Right again. And to top it off, that nun was also there. Although, she was apparently ignorant of the exorcists motives, and tried to defend Issei once she found out. Keyword being tried. At least we were able to retrieve him in time."
"That's good, and what of those church members."
"They had reinforcements, a squad Fallen Angels. We had no choice but to retreat."
"Hm, of course they would be involved too."
"We will deal with them later. for now, I am requesting that you give Issei a day off from school so he can recover."
"Good idea. I shall have a sick note forged, after I'm finished reviewing these club evaluations."
Sona picked up the stack of papers on her desk, she quickly read through the first one before shuffling it to the back to read the next.
"I shall leave you to that then."
Rias got up to leave as Sona continued to shuffle her papers, Until…
"Oh?"
…She halted after seeing an additional note that intrigued her, Rias also stopping just short of touching the doorknob.
"What is it?"
"Apparently, Taiga Kurogane brought his little brother to the music club."
"Really? I wasn't aware he had any siblings. I'll have to ask him about that in class."
"Please do. And if what Tomoe wrote is true, I should also talk with Kurogane about future enrolment for his brother."
It was Monday morning at Kuoh Academy, the beginning of another school week. Gasper was already hard at work with his own education, having finished half of his assignments already. Being that he is an online student, his schooling was obviously different from those on campus. Rather than having a set schedule with different periods for each of his classes, he would be given all the classes at once and go through them at his own leisure. He had no teachers or classmates to interact with, just the assignments and study material, which was all he really needed.
"Try carrying the 2, Master."
Then again, having a study buddy wasn't a bad thing either.
"Thank you, Kivat. Math was never one of my strong suits."
"It's a good thing Taiga-Sama gave me some of his own Knowledge when I was born."
"…Yeah, it is."
Gasper had a solemn look on his face.
"Are you still mad at him?"
"…Yeah, I kind of am."
"You Wanna talk about it?"
"I mean… What else is there to say? He didn't tell me about Kanae-Chan because he didn't think I deserved to know, he didn't have enough trust in me. Then again, maybe It was the right decision. For all we know, I could have screwed everything up if-"
"Master, you're doing it again."
"Doing what again?"
"Spiraling into self-deprecation, you do that a lot."
"Oh, sorry."
"How about we move on to the next subject, Master."
"Y-Y-Yeah. Let's try English ne-"
Gasper was unexpectedly interrupted by a familiar sound… the buzzing.
"A Fangire attack!"
"Eh, really? I thought they were supposed to be nocturnal."
"Normally, yes. But I remember Taiga-Senpai would sometimes fight them during the day."
"That's unfortunate, considering he's still in school. Which means…"
"We'll be on our own again."
…
…
"Well, I'm not worried. sense you did pretty good the last time, I'm confident you'll kick this guy's ass."
"That's true. I beat the Horse Fangire on my own, and I took out multiple Fangire Troopers too. Maybe…"
Gasper closed his laptop and stood up with a confident look.
"Your Right. Let's get going, Kivat!"
"Now that's what I'm Talking about!"
Gasper entered the door to Castle Doran, running down the hallway with his Kivat in hand.
"Gabu!"
His hand was bitten, and the belt was summoned.
"Henshin!"
He placed Kivat onto the belt…
"Henshin!"
The red magic circle was projected, shattering and reassembling into the armor of New Kiva. He soon reached the doors of the living room, slamming them open dramatically. He nearly ran into Lady Doran, who was just standing there calmly.
"Hello, Gasper."
"Lady Doran, there's a-"
"I know, take a look."
She pointed at the TV, which was already showing security footage of a park walkway. here, a pair of teens were being attacked by a girl with black wings.
"Thats not a… wait, isn't that Hyoudou-Senpai?"
"So, it's true. You really have lowered yourself to becoming a Devil, how awful."
The Fallen Angel said to Issei in a condescending tone as she descended to the ground. She was a girl who looked to be Issei's age, having violet eyes and silky black hair that reached her hips. She wore a short black dress with a small, frilly white shirt on top and a pair of black heels. Had it not been for the two giant crow wings sticking out of her back, she would have appeared like a normal girl.
"As for you, Asia. It's time for us to head back."
She now spoke to the blonde nun who was hiding behind Issei.
"N-No… I don't want to go back, Raynare. I don't want anything to do with you anymore."
"Come now, you know full well that we need you."
"Hey! She clearly said no, so back off!"
Issei yelled in defense of his friend.
"This has nothing to do with you, Boy. But if you insist on interfering…"
Raynare raised he hand, creating a spear of glowing red light.
"…I'll gladly kill you again."
Issei winced at the sight, remembering that light was a lethal weakness for Devils like him. But he wasn't going to back down, he was going to protect Asia at all costs.
"Sacred Gear!"
He yelled, summoning a red gauntlet on his arm. It was similar to Taiga's Mod Gear, but with many differences. Aside from being red instead of orange, it was more draconic in appearance, having sharp fingers and a scaley armor pattern. It also has two golden spikes sticking out the bottom and a large green gem imbedded at the center. For a moment, Raynare was shocked. But not for the reason Issei hoped.
"Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha! Is that really all you got? It's just a mere Twice Critical."
"A Twice… What?"
"Also known as The Dragons Hand, it's a common Sacred Gear that only doubles the users power temporarily."
"Wait, that's all it does?"
"How disappointing. I was told by my higher ups that your Sacred Gear was potentially dangerous, that's why I put on that ridiculous charade in the first place."
"Grrr."
"I like you, please be my boyfriend… AS IF! You sure bought it though, hook line and sinker."
"SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTH AND FIGHT ME!"
"You're an idiot if you think you can take me on with that tiny thing. Just give me the girl, take what's left of your dignity and go."
"Not happening, If I can't take care of my friends then what good am I! Now double my power, Twice Critical!"
"BOOST!"
The gauntlet spoke as the gem began to glow.
"Yes, it's working. I feel the power-"
Unfortunately, Raynare had thrown her light spear, piercing Issei through the abdomen.
"AHHHH! ISSEI!"
Asia screamed as her friend fell to his knees. The spear then disappeared causing Issei's blood to spill out. In response, Asia summoned her own Sacred Gear, which took the form of a pair of silver rings on both her hands. The rings emitted a green light that slowly closed up Issei wound, Saving him from bleeding to death a second time. Raynare was not bothered by this, for she had already seen this power at work.
"Now then, Asia. Please be a good girl and come back with me. Your Twilight Healing is far more rare and more valuable than his Sacred Gear could ever be."
"I knew it. You really were just after my power."
"If you come back with me…"
Raynare formed another light spear.
"…I'll agree to spare that devil's life. What do you say?"
Before Asia could respond, she saw purple flash in the sky to her left. And from it, New Kiva descended. By the time Raynare noticed, she was struck in the face with a flying kick, sending her into a nearby tree.
"Are you two OK?"
"Y-Yes."
Asia answered nervously, being slightly unnerved by Kiva's spooky appearance. As for Issei, even though he didn't see him last time, he could easily tell who he was.
"Your that Kamen Rider, the one the President talked about."
Kiva silently nodded in response. Then Raynare emerged from the tree, her face showing a mixture of confusion and rage.
"Go, I'll hold her off."
"But… Alright!"
Issei grabbed Asia's hand and the ran off with her. Raynare immediately tossed her light spear at Kiva, but he slowed it with his Balor View, much to her confusion.
"What?"
Kiva then grabbed the spear midair and threw it back at full speed. Of course, Raynare easily dodged it before recomposing herself.
"Interesting. You and the other one are supposed to be Vampires, but you clearly just used a Sacred Gear ability."
"E-Eh?"
"And you're out in broad daylight. Unless that armor of your provides some kind of protection… No. even if it did, it's clear to me that your Half Human."
"Did she seriously figure all that out in a few seconds? Fallen Angels are scary."
"Either way…"
She created two more light spears.
"…You don't stand a chance against me."
Raynare confidently charged at Kiva, swinging her weapons back and forth. The Rider dodged the strikes and even kicked one of the spears out of her hand. Raynare retaliated with a thrust from her other spear, But Kiva turned into a swarm of bats, then reemerged from behind to elbow her in the back.
"Hold still you damn Half Breed!"
Raynare slammed her spear into the ground, causing an explosion of red light that blinded Kiva. Exactly what she wanted. with another red spear in hand, she charged at him once more. But…
"Not this time."
…Kiva used his Balor View again to slow Raynare, allowing him to tackled her to the ground.
"Get your filthy hands off-"
Kiva silenced Raynare with a punch to the face as he straddled her down. He punched her again, and again, and again, and again, and again-
"Oi, Master!"
He finally stopped, now seeing that Raynare was already knocked out, and bruised beyond recognition.
"I… guess I overdid it a little. But at least we're do-"
Suddenly, he heard a melody. One that he recognized
"A clarinet, could it be?"
He turned around and saw a girl walking towards him as she played, a girl that he really… REALLY dreaded seeing again. She was in her Human form, still wearing her school uniform, she also wore a black satchel that was most likely for her clarinet. Two tentacles were protruding from her back, one holding Issei and the other holding Asia, both of them being unconscious. She stopped and looked beaten up Raynare before looking at Kiva.
"Wow, you really did a number on her. Still, it's good to see you again… Wataru-Kun."
…
"That is, you under that mask, isn't it? Considering Taiga-San is the other Kiva."
"W-Why are you here, Kanae-Chan… no, Lisa?"
"Just making sure Asia comes home safe and sound, especially since she was with Hyoudou of all people."
She proceeded to toss Issei into the air, forcing Kiva to get off of Raynare so he could catch him. Which he thankfully did, much to Lisa's disappointment.
"I'm guessing your brother never told you what a perverted scumbag Hyoudou is, always peeping on us girls in the changing room and talking about becoming a Harem King. He's just the worst, not even worth draining to be honest, I wouldn't want to poison myself again."
"Speaking of Poison, I thought you would have kicked the bucket by know from that Dragon Venom."
"Oh, I nearly did. They had to cut my stomach open to scoop out all the venom. Believe me, it was not pleasant."
Lisa then used her free tentacle to pick up Raynare.
"Anyways, I should probably get going now so we can prepare for the ceremony."
"Wha-No! I won't let you get away again."
Kiva was about to run and strike Lisa, but was stopped by another light spear. A blue one
"What, did you really think I would come alone this time?"
Lisa mocked as the other Fallen Angel Dohnaseek descended in front of her, wearing the same trench coat and fedora he did before.
"We meet again, Kamen Rider."
He was joined by two more Fallen, both of whom were female. The first was a tall and buxom woman with brown eyes and long, navy blue hair that obscured her right eye. She wore maroon, trench coat-like top with a wide collar, a matching miniskirt, and black heeled shoes. She also wore a gold necklace around her neck. The second was a shorter girl with blue eyes and blonde hair styled into twin-tails. She wore a Gothic Lolita attire, which consisted of a black dress with white frills, a large black bow on the front, and a green jewel embedded on the collar, white thigh-high socks with suspender garters and black shoes. She also wore a large black bow on top of her hair.
"Goodbye, Wataru-Kun. Try not to rough up my new friends to badly, Ok."
Lisa waved as she used her camouflage ability to turn invisible, and just like that… she was gone.
"I believe some introductions are in order first. My name is Dohnaseek, and these are my companions, Kalawarna and Mittelt."
Dohnaseek tipped his fedora.
"So, this is what a Kamen Rider looks like? I was expecting you to be a bit Taller in person."
Mittelt, the blonde one stated.
"Your one to talk, Shorty"
"Wait, did Your belt just talk? Ewww, that's creepy, I hate it!"
"Enough of this."
Kalawarna Sighed as she summoned a yellow light Spear.
"We should just kill him and get on with it."
"Fine by me."
Mittelt gleefully summoned her a pink light spear. With all three Fallen armed and ready, Kiva briefly Glanced at the slumbering issei before taking his own battle stance.
"Then… Come at me."
Summoning his vampire Wings, Kiva took to the sky and the Fallen trio followed. Light spears were thrown at the Rider who avoided them gracefully while at the same time, trying to get close enough to strike his feathered foes. It was a tense back and forth between the Bat and Crows, it would only take one slip up for the scales to tip.
"GUAH!"
Sadly, it was Kiva who slipped.
"Yes, I got him!"
Mittelt cheered as her pink spear pierced Kiva's left calf.
"Good work!"
"Now's our chance!"
Kalawarna and Dohnaseek threw their yellow and blue spears at Kiva's abdomen and right wing, both hitting their targets.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"
Unable to fly anymore, he crashed landed onto the concrete.
"Master!"
"I-I'm Ok… I just-Ah!"
Though the spears have dissipated, the searing pain was still there. Kiva could feel his wounds burning hotter and hotter, as if his whole body was being cooked from the inside out.
"Ha, ha, ha! serves you right for hurting Lady Raynare. How does it feel to be on the other end, huh?"
"Finally, I thought that pest would never go down."
"Well, he put up a better fight then that Issei kid, so he's won my respect there. Sadly, all battles must come to an end. Let's finish him off, girls."
Mittelt, Kalawarna and Dohnaseek threw their spears at the same time, combining into a rainbow drill. Kiva tried to move, but it was no use. The pain was so intense that even his vision had become blurry, so he couldn't use his Balor View either.
"Is this it? Am I really going to die, again?"
The drill was closing in, ready to tear into the poor dhampir… until he felt someone grab and cover him. It was Dark Kiva, using his Darkness Veil Cape to block and ultimately neutralize the light drill.
"Senpai?"
"Sorry I kept you waiting, I'll take it from here."
The Fallen trio were briefly awe struck at Dark Kiva's arrival and as he slowly stood up, Dohnaseek chose to break the silence.
"Well, well, well, look who finally decided to show up. It certainly saves us the trouble of-"
Dark Kiva sharply turned his head towards the trio, sending a shiver down each of their spines.
"I-I-Is it just me, o-o-or did it just get colder all of a sudden?"
Mittelt shivered while rubbing her shoulders.
"What the hell even is he?"
Dark Kiva did not answer Kalwarna's Question, instead he silently pulled out the Dogga Fuestle and placed it into his Kavat's mouth.
"Dogga Hammer!"
A deep bellowing sound similar to a foghorn was played.
"Pong."
Goro announced, grabbing the Green Dragon tile that Riki had just discarded for himself. The boys were playing a heated game of Mahjong, so heated that nothing would break their concentration, as they had completely ignored Kiva's entrance and subsequent exit minutes ago. As per the rules, Goro joined the Green Dragon tile with the two others in his hand, and displayed them face up as an identical triplet set. He then discarded one of his other tiles to end his turn. Jiro was next, drawing a tile from the four walls in the center. He smirked before placing it in his hand and discarding another tile into the pile.
"Seung!"
Ramon yelled, Grabbing Jiro's discarded tile. It was the 3 Bamboos, forming a consecutive triplet set with the 5 and 9 bamboos, which were displayed face up, and then he discarded a tile from his hand. Now it was Riki's turn, he drew a Tile and placed it in his hand. But instead of discarding one, he flipped his whole hand over while saying.
"Mahjong."
He had three Red Dragons, a 4, 6 and 2 dots, three West Winds, an 8, 4 and 9 characters, and two White Dragons. Three triplets and a pair, a winning hand.
"Damn it."
"COME ON!"
Jiro and Ramon groaned in defeat, but Goro simply shrugged it off.
"Well played. Care for another match?"
Before Riki could answer, he heard the call of his Fuestle.
"...Playtime."
He got up and stomped away from the table.
"GRRRRRAAAAAAA!"
He yelled as he slammed his fists together, his purple eyes became red, and he was enveloped in a fiery purple aura. Rika had transformed into a floating statue resembling a Frankenstein's Monster.
"Let me get the door for you."
Lady Doran, who had been dusting that weird golden statue, opened one of her portals for the statue to float into and exit the castle.
Arriving on the scene, the Monster statue flew towards Dark Kiva and unfolded into it weapon form, The Dogga Hammer. It had a long black handle with a large purple hammer head shaped like a fist, there were silver veins on the top with a bit of gold on the knuckles. It was easily the largest and heaviest of the Arms Monster weapons, as when he grabbed the Hammer and let it drop, it cracked the concrete.
"Now… which one of you wants to go first?"
…
…
"Y-You know what, guys? I think we should retreat?"
"Huh? What are you saying, Mittelt? Don't tell me your actually getting intimidated by this guy, he's just a Vampire."
"Dohnaseek, he's clearly not a normal blood sucker, and we were not exactly the strongest agents in the Grigori. Kalawarna, back me up hear."
"Sorry, but we can't afford to let either of those Kamen Riders interfere with the ceremony."
"Besides, we already out number them three to two, and one of them is down so it'll be easier."
"Easier? Did you two not see him block our strongest combo attack WITH HIS FRIGGIN CAPE? That's jus…. You know what? Screw it! get yourselves killed for all I care, I'm out of here."
And so, the Fallen angel Mittelt turned away from her comrades and flew away.
"Mittelt!"
"Let her go, we'll talk with her aft-"
Suddenly, Kalawarna and Dohnaseek felt a woosh, and that's when they saw it. Dark Kiva appeared in front of the fleeing Mittelt, with his wings extended… and Hammer raised.
Slam!
She was sent face first into the ground, forming a small crater. There was no movement from her after that, nor did she cry in pain. Mittelt just laid there in silence as her blood leaked from the back of her skull.
"Not this time… I'm not letting any of you escape, nor will I show you any mercy… not after what you did."
"YOU BASTARD!"
Kalawarna yelled as she threw multiple light spears at Dark Kiva, who blocked them all with his hammer before charging her. Dohnaseek stepped forward to block with his own spear, but it was shattered by the Dogga Hammer before it struck and broke his arm.
"Guaahh! You son of a b-"
Dark Kiva then struck Dohnaseek in the gut and sent him flying high into the air. When Kalawarna tried to strike back, he turned into a swam of bats, reassembled behind her, and struck her leg.
"AAAGGGHHHH!"
Then he struck her again in the chest.
"GUUUUHHHHHhhhh!"
Now disoriented, Kalawarna desperately tried hovering away. Dark Kiva didn't stop her, instead he looked up to the cloud, where Dohnaseek finally started to fall back to earth. Gripping the Dogga Hammer like a baseball bat, he took a swing and hit a home run, sending Dohnaseek into Kalawarna and causing them both to crash.
"That takes care of that."
Breathing a sigh of relief, he turned to New Kiva who was struggling to get up. He immediately descended towards him.
"Take it easy, you don't want those injuries to get worse."
"I'm… Sorry. I wasn't strong enough to-"
"No don't say that. I'm sure you did the best you could. If anything, I'm the one who-"
"HEY!"
The Riders turned their heads, and saw that Dohnaseek was getting back up. But he was definitely worse for wear, to the point where he was using his Light spear as a cane.
"Damn, this guy is persistent. Guess I have no choice then."
Dark Kiva grabbed the back of the Hammer and pulled it back, Causing the hand and reveal a big menacing red eye. Once it was open, the eye shot out a storm of violet lightning hitting Dohnaseek.
"AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
After a full ten seconds of unrelenting voltage, Dark Kiva closed the hand, allowing the charred and smoking Fallen to finally… fall.
"Sorry you had to see that."
"I-I-It's fine, I've… seen worse at this point."
"HOLY CRAP!"
Once again turning their heads, the Kiva duo saw that Issei Hyoudou was finally awake, or maybe he had awakened earlier, and they hadn't noticed until now. Either way, it didn't matter to Dark Kiva.
"Looks like he's doing fine, let's get out of here."
Snapping his fingers, Dark Kiva summoned his blood red mist, covering the entire area.
"H-Hey wait!"
Issei got up and ran to where they were, but they vanished as soon as he got there. Then the mist cleared, and his eyes widened. Not only were the Fallen bodies gone, but the collateral damage was also repaired. Everything had returned to what it once was as if nothing ever happened. After taking a moment to process everything that just happened, he got on his knees and slammed his fist to the ground in frustration.
"I… Couldn't save her."
"Hang tight, We're almost there."
Taiga reassured Gasper as he carried him through the halls of Castle Doran, the poor guy was barely managing to remain conscious. The two eventually stopped at a door that bore the symbol of Kiva, which Taiga proceeded to kick down. the Dhampirs were now in a bedroom similar to Gasper's but was more filled out. To the left was large and fancy wooden cabinet with flat screen tv, and next to it was a door that presumably lead to a bathroom. To the right was a king-sized bed with velvet curtains and wooden nightstands with lamps on each side. The back of the room had a window, a small round table, and two chairs. Taiga gently placed Gasper onto the bed before he went to one of the nightstands, rummaging through the drawer until he found what he was looking for. It was some sort of potion bottle, a round one with a red cork shaped like a sharp crystal. The bottle itself was golden with four glass openings showing a clear red liquid.
"Wait, is that a-?"
"Yes, now hold still."
Taiga opened the bottle and poured the whole thing on Gasper. Within seconds, all of his wounds began to heal, and the pain disappeared.
"There we go, now your good as new?"
"Thank you, Senpai. I'm… sorry you had to waste a Phoenix Tear on me."
"Don't worry about it, I still have four left. Also, I should be the one apologizing."
"Huh?"
"You were right, I should have told you about Kanae… I mean Lisa from the beginning. If I did, we might have stopped her in time. All of this is my fault, and you have every right to be mad at me… I'm sorry."
…
…
…
…
"It's ok, I forgive you."
"…Thank you, Gasper."
Now having reconciled, Gasper proceeded to recap everything Taiga mist. The fight with Raynare, Lisa's Return, the Blonde Nun's capture and the mysterious ceremony that is being planned for her.
"We are going to save her, right?"
"Of course, but first we need to figure out where they took her. You said she was the same Nun that was with Issei the other day, correct?"
"Yes, I'm sure of it."
"Hmm, In that case… Lady Doran!"
"What can I do for you!"
Lady Doran suddenly appeared in the room, much to Gaspers shock. There was no indication of a portal or any kind of teleportation magic, she just faded in.
"I need you to show us surveillance, Number 316."
"Very Well."
She fired a magic ball at the flat screen TV, turning it on and showing footage of an old and run-down church. The building was mostly made of grey stone bricks, and was clearly gothic in architecture.
"Kuoh Town's one and only church, the one Issei was apparently escorting that nun to, Despite the fact that it's clearly been abandoned for years. Still, I chose not to look into it because I was more focused the Fangire."
"That and the fact that the last time we got involved with someone from the church did not end pleasantly for us."
"What happened?"
Gasper Asked.
"It's a long story, maybe another time. Now, rewind the footage, Lady Doran."
She did as she was told, rewinding to Saturday afternoon. Here they saw Issei dropping off the nun, whose name they now learned was Asia Argento.
"Now fast forward!"
The footage fast forwarded to nighttime, nothing. Fast forward to Sunday morning, still nothing. Sunday Evening, Asia was leaving the church alongside a man whom she was referring to as Father Freed. He wore a white suit with a black and gold priest robe over it, indicating his apparent status as a Father. He had red eyes and neck length hair that was silvery-white, despite the fact that he appeared to be no older than 18 or 20 years. It was this particular detail that caught Taiga's attention.
"He must be from The Sigurd Institution."
"Sigurd?"
"A Vatican institution meant for training warriors, most of whom end up becoming Exorcists. The silver hair is a trademark for them, supposedly it's a side effect of their specialized training."
"That… can't be healthy for them."
"Definitely not, but it's clearly effective… from what I've seen at least."
Fast forward hours later, the Fallen Angel Dohnaseek arrived with a poisoned Lisa in his arms, carrying her into the church. Almost immediately after that, Asia and Freed returned along with the other three Fallen. Freed was covered in blood, yet had no injuries or any expression of pain, he looked more annoyed than anything else. As for Asia, she was in tears with a bruise on her check, her dress had been torn open, but she was covering herself with a coat that resembled the ones worn by Kuoh academy students. Fast Forward to Monday morning, Asia had run away. fast forward again, Lisa along with a whole fleet of Fallen Angels and Stray Exorcists scattered to look for the nun.
"Th-Th-There's more of them?"
"It's like we just discovered an infestation."
"Shall I keep going?"
Lady Doran Asked?
"I think that's enough, lets switch over to Number 056."
"As you Wish."
She snapped her fingers, now the TV showed Issei Hyoudou talking with his peerage in the Occult research club room.
"Wait, your spying on them to?"
Gasper questioned Taiga.
"I have eyes everywhere, remember. You can never be too careful."
Rias was mad at Issei for getting involved with Asia despite her many warnings, Issei wasn't having it though, as he was determined to save her even if he was a worthless Pawn. Rais corrected him by saying Pawns are not worthless. Much like in real chess, Pawns can promote themselves to any other piece aside from the King once they reach the other side of the board, or in this case, reach enemy territory. Rias then Leaves with Akeno to do some business elseward, Leaving Issei with Yuuto and Koneko, who agree to accompany him on his rescue mission.
"Well damn. never thought I'd be routing for issei of all people yet, here I am."
"So…What now, Senpai"
"Now we just need a plan, and this time you'll be in on it 100%. Can I count on you, Gasper?"
"Yeah, I won't let you down!"
"Good! So, here's what we'll do…."
It was nighttime, the moment of truth. Issei Hyoudou Stood outside the gates of the abandoned church, hiding in an ally way. Alongside him was Yuuto Kiba and Koneko Toujou.
"Do you guys feel that Bloodlust too?"
Issei asked.
"Yes, it's a sure sign that there are plenty of Exorcists inside."
Yuuto replied, as he pulled out a folded piece of paper from his coat.
"Church blueprints? You sure do come prepared."
"Thats just common sense when delving into enemy territory."
"Seriously, I'm really glad you guys are here with me."
"Well, we are buddies, aren't we? Besides, I-"
"Heads up, we're being watched."
Koneko suddenly interrupted, pointing to the other side of the alley. Everyone peered into the darkness, hoping to find their apparent stalker.
"She Caught me? This wasn't supposed to happen! Ok, don't panic, I can still salvage this."
Emerging form one of the shadows was Kamen Rider New Kiva, much to the surprise of the Trio.
"I just need to play it cool, I can do this."
"Sorry for the intrusion, I am here to offer my assistance, if you'll accept it that is."
He spoke in a stoic tone of voice while raising his hand.
…
…
"Really!? Hell yeah, off course…"
Issei happily shook the Dhampirs hand. As for Yuuto and Koneko, they looked at each other before nodding with a smile. At least… Yuuto was smiling, Koneko just had her usual poker face.
"…Good to have you with us, Kiva-San."
"Likewise."
"Alright, So far so good."
"Also, I never got to thank you for getting my life energy back the other day."
"Oh, you're welcome. I was just doing my job."
"And what about the other guy, the one with the Hammer, Is he here too?"
"He's scouting the area, to watch for anymore Fallen Angels if they come."
"I see, then that means he'll be with… Well, as much as I would like to chat, we are on a time crunch.
Yuuto said as he presented the blueprints to the group.
"The church itself isn't too large. This is the sanctuary right here, and further in are the lodgings. Then there's the underground chamber, which is most likely were the ritual will be held. It's not at all far from the entrance to the ceremony, so we should be able to make it in one go. The problem is…"
"…There's an exorcist in the Sanctuary for sure."
Koneko finished Yuuto's sentence.
"Of course it wouldn't be that easy, they're definitely expecting us to interfere."
"Let's just rush in. if it's only one, the four of us could easily overpower him."
Kiva Suggested.
"Exactly what I was thinking."
Yuuto summoned his sword, a black steel claymore, using it to slash open the gate.
"LETS GO!"
The devils rushed up the stairs with Kiva right behind them. Bursting through the front doors, they entered the sanctuary. The room was a standard small size for a place of worship, with two rows of wooden pews with red cushions. There was a door to the far left that presumably led to the lodgings, and a wooden altar for preaching.
"It's quiet… too quiet."
"This definitely smells like a trap, Master."
Kivat the Third voiced his opinion, causing the Issei to do a double take.
"Woah, your belt talks?"
"Yeah… sorry if it creeps you out."
"No, I actually think that's pretty cool. I wish I had something like tha-"
Issei was interrupted by the sound of clapping in the distance, the source of it was a man walking out of the far-left door.
"Hey, hey, heeeeeeeeeeeey! Did you miss me?"
"FREED!"
Issei yelled, recognizing the silver haired Stray Exorcist.
"And I see you brought that vampire I've been hearing so much about, it's been a while since I've killed one of those. Freed Sellzen's the name, killing unholy scum is my game. Also, just because I introduced myself doesn't mean you have to. There's no point in remembering your name since you're going to die anyways. Now as for you three…"
He pointed at the devil trio, his smug face turning into a dark scowl.
"…up until now, I've never had the pleasure of meeting the same Devil twice. I'm crazy strong, so I usually just chop their heads off as soon as I see 'em. But now you've tarnished my perfect record, and that pisses me off. So, what do you say…"
He reached both hands into his robes, pulling out his weapons. In his left hand was a silver handgun, and his right hand was a sword with a golden hilt and a blade made of pure solid light.
"…let's finish this! The thought of tearing away your flesh and eating it piece by piece makes my mouth water."
Freed licked the barrel of his gun with a sadistic grin.
"This guy is crazy. Is it because of Sigurd, or is he really just that terrible of a person? He's even worse than…than…"
Kiva's thoughts were once again pulled back to the past, to the three Hunters who whore trench coats and fedoras made of black leather. Two of them held him down while the third one, the only girl among them, held up he hammer and stake. Her face was burned into his memory, her blue eyes and long hair tied in braided twin tails, hair that was… also silver, could she also be…
"Tell us where Asia is, right now!"
Issei yelled, pulling Kiva back to reality.
"Oh right, you mean that dirty Devil loving whore of a sister. All you have to do is go down to the basement, it's right beneath the alter behind me."
"So, she IS downstairs."
Kiva stated.
"Right, but first you have to go throooooooouuuuuuugggggghhhh mmmmmeeeeeeeeee."
Kiva knew he would have to use his Balor View, hence why he stood behind the group.
"I'm not taking the risk, I'll end this quickly."
Once Kiva had slowed down time, he ran towards Freed and jumped.
"Waaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttt, whaaaaaaaaaaaat the fu-."
When time resumed, Freed had been struck in the face with a Rider Kick, sending him into the altar. Freed was knocked out instantly.
…
…
…
"Wow, that was fast, even for me."
Yuuto said, as he and the other two walked towards Kiva.
"It's not something I can do all the time, only in short bursts."
"Is that your Sacred Gear?"
Koneko asked, throwing Kiva off for a second.
"…Of course not, I'm a vampire."
"But your also a Human."
…
…
"What?"
"I couldn't tell before, your suit must have insolated most of it. but now that I'm close to you, I can feel your Human aura."
Hearing Koneko's observation, Yuuto looked intrigued while Issei was just confused.
"I hate to interrupt, but are we not on a time crunch?"
"Oh, you're right."
"Yeah, we have to hurry and save Asia!"
Yuuto and Issei said respectively before going down the stairway that was revealed upon the altar's destruction. Koneko took another moment to blankly stare at Kiva before following the boys.
"That was too close for comfort, I didn't expect Koneko-Chan to be that intuitive. Then again, I could never really tell what she was thinking most of the time. I'll have to be more cautious around her."
Kiva followed the Devils downstairs, it was a spiral stairway that had stone brick walls lined with torches. After reaching the bottom, they found the double doored entrance to the basement.
"This is it…"
Yuuto spoke.
"…there will most likely be a lot of enemies inside. Is everyone ready?"
The others silently nodded in response, and the doors were slammed open. Inside the large basements were a gathering of Stray Exorcists, all of whom were men wearing the same robes that Freed did, even wielding the same weaponry. At the end of the room was Asia, chained to a giant metal cross with glowing green lines. She was wearing a white ceremonial gown with a strange tattoo on her chest. Standing right beside her was none other than Raynare, wearing the same gown.
"Come on in, Devils…"
The Fallen Angel greeted them.
"… your just in time, the ritual is about to start."
"Asia!"
Hearing Issei's call, Asia weakly raised her head.
"Issei… you came. I-AGHH!"
The cross glowed brighter, causing the poor girl immense pain.
"No! what's she doing to her?"
"Wait, that's it…"
Yuuto had a realization.
"…they're trying to remove her Sacred Gear."
"What? Then what will happen to Asia?"
"Taking someone's Sacred Gear… would also mean taking their life."
Kiva answered, remembering what Taiga and Kivat the Second told him all those months ago. Because Sacred Gears were bound to the wielders soul, tearing it out would also damage the spiritual threads that bind the soul to their body. This was why Taiga could not use his Mod Gear to Remove the Forbidden Balor View, the risks were too great to take.
"Then we have to get her back before it's too late."
Issei Summoned his Sacred Gear, Readying himself for battle.
"Not so fast…"
Said one of the Stray Exorcists.
"…we won't let any of you Devils Innnnnntttteeeeerrrrrrrfffffeeeeeeerrrrrreeeeee."
Once again, Kiva wasted no time using his Balor View on everyone in the room. Using the exorcists heads as steppingstones, he made his way to Asia and Raynare. The former reacted as quickly, or as quickly as someone in slow motion could react, by generating a light spear.
"Take thi-AGH!"
But before Kiva could strike, someone flew at him from the right, tackling him to the ground.
"Nuh uh uuuhhhhhhh, you aren't getting away with that trick again."
"Lisa!"
She was also in the same white ceremonial gown, as well as her clarinet satchel and necklace made of what looked like pearls.
"She must have been hiding in a blind spot, she was waiting for me."
Time returned to normal speed, with the exorcist Kiva hopped on falling over and Raynare shifting her look from worry to smugness.
"Well done, Lisa! As for the rest of you, quit standing around and KILL THEM!"
With that, the Stray Exorcists charged and a great battle between them and the Devils ensued. Yuuto sliced through many opponents before clashing blades with one, and upon doing so…
"ERASE!"
…the blade of his sword was enveloped in darkness, which then began to eat away at the Exorcist's Light Sword.
"What the Hell is this!?"
"Holy Eraser, a Demon Sword that devours light."
True to his word, the Light Sword's blade disintegrated, Allowing Yuuto to cut him down.
"He's a Demon Sword Wielder…"
Said another Exorcist who was fighting Koneko.
"…Good thing this one is just a little gi-AAUUGGHH!"
A single punch to the face was all it took for Koneko to take him out.
"Should've paid attention."
She continued to punch and kick her way through many of the exorcists, until...
"DIE!"
One of them fired his gun, shooting bullets made of light. This would normally be lethal to a Devil, but not Koneko. Because Rooks had high defense, the Light Bullets bounced off of her body and even hit other Exorcists.
"You've got to be kidd-OUUUUUGGG!"
Both Yuuto and Koneko had pushed there respective enemies back, opening pathway for Issei to Reach Asia, who was still in pain.
"Thanks guys, here I come!"
As he ran forward, some of the smarter Exorcist noticed Issei and moved in to stop him.
"Time to get Serious, Promotion: Rook!"
A red apparition of a Rook Piece briefly appears over Issei, confirming his promotion. And just in time too, as the Exorcist fired their Light Guns at him. Though it still stung a little, he was able to preserve and even knock down his foes like they were nothing.
"ASIA!"
Unfortunately, Raynare was still standing guard. She struck with her Light spear, while he blocked with his Twice Critical Gauntlet.
"Why a do you even bother? Even with your friend, you have zero chance of stopping us at this point."
"I don't care what you think, I'm saving her no matter what!"
"BOOST!"
The gauntlet doubled Issei's power, allowing him to push Raynare back.
"Oh well, it's your funeral."
Back with Kiva, he had been trading blows with Lisa, who had chosen to remain in her human form. Her back protruding tentacles continuously swiping at the rider, who was struggling to keep up.
"Master, might I suggest calling one of the Arms Monsters?"
"That's right, I can summon them too."
He thinks back to when he first used Garuru and Bassha.
"I haven't used Dogga or Sakusa yet, but I don't know if either will make me go berserk like Garuru did, and I don't want to take the risk."
In the end, Kiva had only one safe option. He took out his chosen Fuestle and placed it in his Kivat's mouth.
"Bassha Magnum!"
The trumpet tune was played and right on Cue, Ramon in his statue form arrived from a portal, landing in Kiva's Right hand before unfolding into the Bassha magnum. And just like before, Kiva Transformed into his Bassha Form.
"So that's how that works, guess you are a little musically inclined after all."
In response to Lisa, Kiva pulled the trigger twice, firing two water bullets that she easily dodged.
"Ha! You miss-"
Clang!
The bullets struck there actual intended targets, the cuffs that were keeping poor Asia chained up.
"I never miss!"
Kiva said in a cheeky tone. Lisa and Raynare could only stare in shock while Issei…
"I got you, Asia."
…pushed the distracted Raynare aside, and caught Asia just in time.
"Ready to give up?"
"Hey, don't get too cocky now!"
Lisa swiped at Kiva once more, but he dodged by performing a backflip. While in the air he fired 3 more times, hitting both of her tentacles…
"Gahhh! Son of a-"
…as well as her satchel, causing the clarinet to spill out and roll away.
"Clarry!"
Lisa went after it, and quickly caught it. Upon inspecting it, she sighed in relief.
"Good, no scratches. That a reli-"
Lisa could not finish her sentence, as Kiva kicked her in the back of the head. After seemingly knocking her out, Kiva aimed his magnum, ready to finish her off.
"It's over."
"Bastard!"
An Exorcist who had broken away from fighting the Devils, charged at Kiva with intent to save Lisa, only for Kiva to shoot the man in the chest without even looking. He then casually turned around to see that there were still plenty of Exorcists fighting his comrades.
"Might as well lend them a hand."
Kiva slowly walked forward, spinning his magnum before blasting headshots. Some exorcists tried to block with their light swords, but because these were water bullets, they passed through without issue. Then there were those who fired back with their light guns, but much like Koneko, Kiva's armor provided enough protection to block suck tiny light projectiles. By the time Kiva reached Yuuto and Koneko, none of those Strays were left standing.
"Wow! you're really full of surprises, Kiva-San."
Said Yuuto as his Holy Erasure disappeared in his hands.
"It was easy peasy, frankly these scrubs weren't worth the effort."
"Huh?"
Realizing what he just said, Kiva gently placed the Bassha Magnum on the floor, reverting himself back to his base form.
"Sorry, I'm not really myself when I'm using these weapons."
"I… See."
Koneko went to inspect the weapon, as well as sniff it.
"Fish."
She was about to grab it, until a purple portal appeared underneath it, allowing it to escape, much to the girls disappointment.
"Hey guys!"
Issei yelled, rushing over to the group with Asia in his arms.
"That was amazing, you all really kicked ass out there!"
He set Asia down allowing her to stand on her own.
"Thank you…thank you all so much for saving me. It was awful, they-AUUUGGGHHH!"
She screamed in agony again, as her tattoo began to glow.
"ASIA, What's wrong!?"
Issei asked while hugging Asia, in a vain attempt to relieve the pian.
"Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Such fools, all of you"
Issei and the others turned to the now standing Raynare
"What are you talking about, what have you done."
"it's not what I've done, but what You haven't done. Did you honestly think breaking those chains would end the ceremony. This is why I said you had zero chance of stopping us."
"AAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!"
She screamed louder and louder and her tattoo grew brighter and brighter until…
"AAAAAAAaaauuuggg."
…it came out. The green ball of light that was Twilight Healing had been removed, leaving Asia to lose all of her strength.
"Iss…ssei."
The light had left her eyes completely… she was gone.
"This can't be, we failed?"
too make matters worse, Lisa had also recovered, using one of her tentacles to snatch the floating Sacred Gear.
"Yes, this is it! the power I've been lusting after for years is in my grasp!"
Raynare flew over to Lisa, her heart brimming with pure joy.
"With this power I'll finally be loved, and I'll have the last laugh over all those pricks who screwed me over. I will become the Ultimate Fallen Ang-AAAUUUGG!"
To the shock of everyone, Lisa smacked Raynare in the face so hard that she was sent into a wall.
"Damn, your annoying…"
Reaching into her satchel, she pulled out a small wooden treasure box. She opened it, gently placed the sacred gear inside, and closed it.
"…Still, it's thanks to you I now have an offering for the King."
"The King?"
Kiva questioned.
"Yes, the Fangire King. He is my lord and master, the ultimate existence, the pinnacle of power and the rightful ruler of this world!"
Lisa's overexcitement caused her to revert to her true form, the Octopus Fangire. Although her satchel and pearl necklace remained on her person instead of disappearing with her clothes. Needless to say, the devils were once again shocked.
"Wait, Umemiya-Senpai is one of those glass monsters too?"
Issei asked
"Yes, they are called Fangire…"
Kiva answered.
"…and as for the King, is he the reason you and your people have been attacking Kuoh?"
"Obviously! If he is to rule the world, we must first dominate the supernatural who inhabit it. and who better to start with then the Devils."
"And what about all the humans being drained?"
"We need life energy to sustain ourselves and become stronger, I'm sure that you as a vampire would understand.
"But… do you really have to suck them completely dry to survive?"
"No… but more life energy means more power. And if we want to realize our Kling's ambition, we will need to gather all the power we can get."
"I don't… believe this!"
Raynare yelled, having recovered herself.
"This whole time, you've just been using us?"
"Well duh, you were a convenience for me and nothing more, I only tolerated you in the beginning because of what you did to Issei. but aside from that, you and everyone else were just unpleasant, save for Asia of course
"You Bitch, how dare you betray me like this."
"Oh please, as if you have any right to complain about treachery. Everything I've done up to this point was for the sake of my King, while you went behind your superiors back just to put this plan into motion. Then there was the whole thing with Issei, even though he totally deserved it."
"Hey, what did I ever do to you!?"
Issei roared, tears streaming down his face.
"Do you really have to ask? Anyways, you've served me well, Raynare. But now, I have no further use for you."
"Oh, I don't think so…"
Raynare summoned a Light spear.
"…if anyone is going to die it's you!"
Raynare flew towards the Fangire with blind rage only to stop just short of piercing her.
"What…have you…"
She looked at her stomach to see it was now pierced by two Life-Sucking Fangs. Her spear evaporated, and her body turned to glass before collapsing. The fangs entered the Fangire's body, giving her a jolt of pleasure.
"So bitter in all the right ways, you really were good for something after all!"
Then in another shocking move, the Fangire stomped on Raynare's head, shattering her entire body.
…
…
…
…
"What, don't tell me you wouldn't have done the same. You should be thankful I did you this fav-"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
One of the fallen Exorcists, specifically the one Kiva shot in the chest, had gotten back up and shot the Octopus. Sadly, those bullets were also ineffective on her. She proceeded to grab him with a tentacle and pull him closer.
"Let me show you what a real light weapon looks like."
She formed a spear made of red light, just like Raynare, and used it to stab the man in the neck. His blood sprayed all over her like a fountain… and she was enjoying it
"Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!"
"Ok, I've seen enough of this."
"We have to stop her!"
"Agreed, Kiva."
Yuuto re-summoned his Holy Erasure, while Koneko silently took a fighting stance. As for Issei, he just sat there with Asia's body, crying to himself.
"Good luck with that."
The Fangire dropped the body, and then her pearl necklace began to glow. that when Kiva realized something.
"Those aren't pearls."
Using her thumb, she snapped off her necklace and the not-pearls fell to the ground. They then quickly expanded until they hatched into an army of familiar looking minions.
"Fangire Troopers!"
"SHAAAAAAAAA!"
The troopers charged with ferocity.
"You play nice now, goodbye."
She sprouted out all eight of her tentacles, allowing her to crawl over the Devils and make her escape.
"You go follow her; we'll deal with these guys"
Yuuto assured Kiva
"Ok, thank you."
Kiva rushed up the stairs, and as he did, he pulled out another Fuestle.
"Are you sure about That one, Master?"
"At this point, I'm done with holding back. She has gone too far, so I'm stopping her no matter what!"
"Hmm… very well, ready when you are."
And so, Kiva placed the Fuestle into Kivat's mouth.
"Garuru Saber!"
"God, this SUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS DICK!"
Freed Sellzen complained while rubbing his bruised face in the corner.
"I can't believe those RETCHED, NO GOOD, WASTE OF SPACE DEVILS got away… AGAIN! It's all that STUPID VAMPIRE'S fault, I'll get him next time though. Yeah… I'll stake his heart and watch him bleed, then I'll chop his head off and piss down his n-"
Suddenly, he saw The Octopus Fangire slither her way out of the basement entrance.
"Oh, Freed. so, your still alive."
She said, having noticed Freed's presence. It took a few seconds for him to recognize her voice.
"Wait, Lisa!? Holy hell, I didn't think those tentacles of yours would turn you into a Lovecraftian freak. Like seriously, you are ugly as fu-AGH."
She coiled one of her tentacles around his neck, then hoisted him towards her face.
"Now, what should I do with you? I could just kill you here and be done with it, or I could chop off your limbs and make you into my plaything… actually, that doesn't sound to appealing either. Maybe if you were Dohnaseek, at least he was hot."
"Ghg…ygghh..biiiieeehhhhhhhhhh"
"Oh, I know! How about I-"
SLASH!
"Eh?"
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
"AUUUGGGGGGHHHHH!"
All eight of her tentacles were cut off, causing both her and freed to fall to the ground, the latter gasping for air.
"Damn… crazy… BITCH!"
And that's when Freed saw him, Kamen Rider Kiva, who was now in his Garuru form.
He slowly turned around while giving a low yet menacing growl.
"Alright… Screw this I'm out!"
Freed got up and pulled something from his pocket. He then threw it to the ground creating a quick flash of light, allowing him to retreat. Now it was just the two of them.
"Another new form? you never cease to impress me, Wataru-Kun."
"Grrrr."
"Not talking? Then…"
She creates a light spear.
"… let's finish this then."
"RAAAAAGGGHHH!"
Kiva charged with ferocity, slashing at the girl he once called friend. Despite its incredible speed, the Fangire was able to keep up relatively well. But eventually…
"AUUUUGGGGH!"
…Kiva got a good strike in. But just befor he could finish him off, the Fangire made another light spear, using it to knock the Garuru Saber out of his hand. As Kiva reverted to his base form, the Octopus slashed again, sending him to the ground.
"Guuuhhhh."
"You know… it didn't have to be this way, Wataru-Kun. When all was said and done, I was going to spare you and your brother. But now you've left me no other-"
"BOOST!"
"Huh?"
She turned around to see none other than Issei, his Twice Critical out and ready to punch her.
"You give Asia her Sacred Gear back!"
She avoided it by stepping back and tripping him up with her foot
"WAOOAHHH!"
"How clumsy of you."
Undeterred, Issei got back up to charge her again, only for her to throw her light spears into both of his thighs.
"GAAAHHHH!"
"Issei-Senpai!"
"I'm…Fine, Kiva-San. Compared to what Asia went through…. This pain… IS NOTHING!"
"BOOST!"
Issei then tore out both light spears with his bare hands, which gave him sever burning on top of the bleeding holes in his legs.
"Ok, I'll admit that was impressive. But in the end, you're just delaying the inevitable. Do you have any last words, maybe some sins you want to confess? We are in a church after all. Hell, if you apologize for being such a retched pervert, I may consider giving you a painless death."
"Never… I'll never apologize… for being honest about my love for breasts… and even if I did… I would never apologize to YOU!"
"BOOST!"
Issei then began to stand back up.
"Wait, how are you standing? Even with your power doubled, a Low-Class devil like you shouldn't be able to recover from a light spear like this."
"You… made someone as sweet and pure as Asia suffer… YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CLAIM THE HIGH GROUND!"
"EXPLOSION!"
The Sacred Gear's green gem glowed brighter than it ever did before, enveloping Issei with a draconic aura as he summoned his Devil wings.
"This can't be! Twice Critical isn't meant to give the user this much power, unless-"
"ORRRRAAAAAAAAAAA!"
"NOOOOOOOO!"
The Fangire was punched in the gut so hard, she was sent flying out the window and onto the street.
"Good… riddance."
Having exhausted all of his energy, Issei was ready to collapse.
"I got you."
Kiva gabbed Issei, then gently laid him against the wall before heading outside.
"Sorry Issei-Senpai but finishing her off takes priority right now."
The Octopus Fangire, while still alive, now had a big crack in her abdomen.
"I can't die here… not after I've come so far."
Pulled one last gambit, she transformed her feet into black spikey wheels and rode off.
"Since when can an octopus do that?"
"It doesn't matter, Kivat! We won't let her get away a third time!"
Kiva pulled out his Vampire wings and flew after her. Once she realized she was being followed, the octopus began firing light spears, none of them hitting her target.
"Her aim is rather poor; now is you chance to use your Balor Vi-"
She then fired a ball of ink, that successfully his Kiva in the face.
"Waahh! I can't see."
The chase lead into the Kuoh Town Square, were the Fangire took a right turn and Kiva… crashed into a building.
"You ok, master?"
"NO! No, I'm not."
Just when all hope seemed lost, Kiva heard the sound of a motorcycle coming towards him, followed by a familiar voice.
"Need a lift?"
"Senpai!"
It was Dark Kiva riding his bike, the Machine Kivaa. It was a red and black cruiser type motorcycle with silver handlebars, a bat wing behind the seat, and the Kiva crest branded on the fuel tank.
"Get on, quickly!"
After wiping the ink off his mask, New Kiva took his seat behind Dark Kiva and the rode off. It didn't take long for them to catch up to the Fangire. And once they did…
"Slow her down!"
"Got it."
Kiva used his Balor View on the Octopus; she was finally vulnerable.
"Good job! Now let's run her over!"
"Ok… what wha-OOAAHHHHWOAHWOOOOAAAAHHHHHHH!"
Dark Kiva performed a wheelie, while New Kiva held on for dear life. The Fangire barley had enough time to look back before the Rider rammed her down.
"AAAARRRRRRRHHHHHGGGGGGG!"
The bike then skidded to a stop.
"Was that cool or what?
"Y-Yeah… Cool. Just… warn me next time."
"Oooooooooooowwwwwww."
Despite all that damage, she was still alive… but not for long.
"I'll finish this."
Dark Kiva pulled out his wake up Fuestle, and put it into his Kivats mouth before tapping it twice.
"Wake Up Two!"
The organ tune was played as Dark Kiva surged with power, large pincers made of green energy then appeared on his legs. He leaped into the air and shouted.
"Hissastu: Darkness Burst End!"
When the Octopus Fangire got up, Dark Kiva hit her with a drop kick, with the pincers stabbing her repeatedly until she crashed into a building wall. Once he got off of her, she slumped to the ground and reverted to her human form.
"This… wasn't supposed to be this way… Damn you Raynare, how could you not tell had a fricking Longinus."
"Longinus?"
New Kiva asked.
"The strongest category of all Sacred Gears, capable of killing Gods… Only thirteen of them were ever made, and that pervert just so happen to get the Red Dragon Emperor's Gauntlet, the Boosted Gear!"
"Sacred Gears that can kill God's, why would the God of the Bible make something like that?"
"For the same reason he made Sacred Gears in the first place…"
Dark Kiva answered.
"…to give humanity a fighting chance against the supernatural, and that would include Pagen Gods."
""
Lisa's satchel had broken off and Dark Kiva was inspecting it, pulling out the treasure box and her clarinet
"Please… give Clarry back to me! Take the stupid Sacred Gear if you want, just… give her back to me."
After staring at it for a few seconds, Dark Kiva obliged, tossing it to Lisa who hugged it desperately.
"Why do you care about it so much?"
"Because… it just like what Kumi-Chan said, instruments are mor then just tools, they're partners. Just like your Bloody Rose, my Clary… is irreplaceable."
"So, you really do love music."
"Why else would I join the music club. I mean… I needed an excuse to stay on campus after school hours, so I figured I might as well pick something I like."
"And… Did you enjoy it?"
New Kiva asked this time
"Yeah… I guess I did…"
Lisa's body then began to crack up with light pouring out.
"… I have a not in my bag, it's for the rest of the club. They at least deserve some closure to my absence…"
The cracks grew more and more.
"…Thank you both for the memories… and goodbye"
Her body finally exploded, leaving only a ball of life energy and Clarry.
"Goodbye, Kanae Umemiya!"
Dark Kiva said as he picked up Clara and put it back in the satchel.
"We did it, we finally stopped her, but we couldn't save Asia. We won, but we also failed, I failed."
"Ara-ara, there you are…"
The Riders turned around to see Akeno descending before them.
"Himejima-San, you're a bit late to the party, we've already dealt with the problem."
"Oh dear, that's a shame. Ah and I see you're here as well, New Kiva-San. Thank you so much for helping us again."
"Y-Yes, your welcome."
"On that note…"
Dark Kiva began
"…even with his best efforts, the nun ended up perishing."
"Oh… that's unfortunate."
"But that shouldn't be a problem for you guys, seeing as you have those Evil Pieces."
"That's right, how could I forget about those. If the President reincarnates Asia, she'll come back to life as a Devil like I Did."
"That is true… but it would be up to Rias to decide."
"Hold on."
New Kiva picked up the treasure box that was still on the ground.
"Her Sacred Gear is in here, it's called Twilight Healing, it can heal any injuries. Your Master could use an ability like that… Right?"
"Hm-hm-hm…."
Akeno slightly giggled before taking the box.
"…I'll see if I can put a good word in…"
She then created a red teleportation circle underneath her feet.
"…now let us head to the church, so we can have a proper discussion about… your activities."
"About that…"
Dark Kiva interrupted
"…it's been a really long night for us, so I think we should postpone that meeting till tomorrow."
"Hmmmm."
"In fact, I have the perfect meeting place."
Dark Kiva reached into his Shadow and pulled out a paper slip with writing that he handed to Akeno
"Café Mald'amour… Hey, I've heard of this place. Rias and I have been meaning to go there and try it out, but we just never had the time."
"Well now is your chance. And since I know the owner, I can even convince her to give you a discount on drinks."
"Hm-hm-hm. You really drive a hard bargain, Kurogane-San. Alright, I'll let you two go for now, Bye.
The circle activated and Akeno Disappeared
…
…
"Senpai, did you just hear what she-"
"Right, I forgot to mention, she and Rias know our Identities now."
"EEEEHHHHHHHHH!?"
"Wait, let me rephrase that. They know my identity, but not yours. They now think you're my little brother Wataru. So, we are still in the clear on that."
"O-O-Oh… how did they even-"
"Sona Sitri, apparently. They didn't give me any details, but I guess it just prove how smart she is."
"Yeah… Scary smart."
"Also, why is that Life energy still there."
Dark kiva pointed to the ball of glowing light that was just hovering in place.
"It's Raynare's, but she was… shattered."
"Ah, well at least it was someone who deserves it."
Reaching into his shadow again, Dark Kiva then pulled out a golden ring with a clear gemstone. He used the ring to suck up the Life energy, which turned the gemstone red.
"What is that?"
"A Life Ring, Mimi made these for cases such as this. hopefully she can get something useful out of it."
The two then hopped on the Machine Kivaa and just as they were about to Ride off, New Kiva asked a question that had been burning into his mind for a while now.
"Why are we even riding a bike when we have wings?"
"Because we wouldn't be Kamen Riders otherwise, it's literally in the name."
"I guess, but it just doesn't seem to be that practice-AAAAAAUUUHHHHH I TOLD YOU TO WARN ME FIRST!"
Thus, the Kiva Brothers ride off victoriously into the night. However, thought the battle had been won, the war had only just begun, both for them and the Devils.
Next Time on Kiva DxD.
"Let's have a toast to our new alliance!"
"I think we should to some Training with the Arms Monsters"
"I still think he is hiding something"
"Let's see how strong you really are."
"Hope you're ready, cause It's about to get Wild!"
Wake Up and break the chains of fate!
