Over the next couple of weeks, the group helped maintain the ship and Hook loved taking control of the ship due to him never feeling better than when he was behind the wheel of a ship. Everyone noticed Gold and Belle had become closer and all of them knew that they were back together, but nobody wanted to bring up the topic. Everyone knew that the blue fairy had sped up this realms time, but nobody wanted to question anything about it. It was something that they didn't want to think about and knew for Belle's sack that their only thought should be the rescue of Gideon. Early one morning Cyrus came in and said "Everybody get up. You need to see this". Everybody got out of their beds and went up onto the deck. They all looked ahead and saw Africa. Cyrus said "Everyone. I welcome you to Africa".
Everyone was happy to finally see land and Belle muttered "We're here baby. Mummy's here and she's coming for you".
Cyrus said "All right. Captain Gerald said that we can't get any closer so we're gonna need to take the rowboat". Cyrus took them all to the shore and said "Now, since you're here to look for your son and we're here to study. You all go and try to find him while me, my wife, and my daughter go back to the boat and get our supplies".
Jane asked "Daddy, can I go with them. This little boy needs to be found and in this jungle it's gonna be hard".
Cyrus said "Jane, I don't think that's best. I know they can handle".
Alice interrupted "Go Jane. Help them. Find this little boy and you can come back and help your dad set up later".
Jane responded, "Thanks mum". Jane then gave her mother a kiss on the cheek and said "I'll be careful dad. Don't worry about me".
Jane then gave Cyrus a kiss on the cheek and Cyrus said, "Okay sweetheart, just come back soon okay".
Jane responded, "I will". Jane then went up to Belle and asked, "You mind if I help you look".
Belle answered "No. The more the merrier. And the quicker we'll find my son".
Emma said "Okay everyone. Let's go. We don't have a moment to lose. We'll split up into pairs. Belle and Gold, you take that direction. Dad you and Jane go in that direction. Killian, you take Henry over there and I'll go with Zelena in that direction. We all got that". Everyone agreed and Emma said "We'll meet up back here in four hours. Don't be late". Everyone was accepting of this and Emma said "Okay, let's move out".
Everyone left in their separate directions and Cyrus asked Alice "Why did you let her go. It's dangerous out there".
Alice responded "She's with Will's friends. I know she's going to be all right".
Cyrus asked, "But why did she want to go".
Alice said "She's just spent the last couple of weeks stuck on a boat with her parents. She's wants to get away from us".
Cyrus responded, "Shouldn't I be telling you that and you are the one demanding that she stay".
Alice said "I know, and I want her here too but after all that time on the boat together and all those dates I sent her on. I could see that she was screaming to get away from me".
Cyrus said, "Good thing I never feel like that".
Alice gave him a kiss and said, "You better not".
Emma and Zelena were walking and Zelena asked "So, why do I get the pleasure of searching for Dark one Jr with the Saviour and not your son or boyfriend".
Emma answered "I trust Killian with Henry, and I don't trust you with anyone. So, I need to keep an eye on you. Especially if we find Gideon. Lord knows what you'll do to him".
Zelena asked, "What would I do to him".
Emma answered, "I don't know but knowing you, nothing good".
Zelena remarked "Thanks for the faith in me".
Emma responded "Don't act all innocent. Not after everything you've done".
Zelena sneered at Emma and said, "Let's just find the little Dark one".
Gold and Belle were walking and Belle called out "Gideon".
Gold called out "Gideon".
Belle called out "Gideon".
Gold called out "Gideon".
Belle turned to Rumple and asked "What if he can't understand us. What if he doesn't speak".
Gold was shocked to hear this and asked "Belle, why would you think that".
Belle answered "In my dream world. I first saw him a baby but then at Zelena's, I saw him as a child. He was alone and scared. He didn't speak and didn't understand what I was saying. He only got it when I used gestures. Rumple. I don't think he knows how to speak".
Gold responded "And if he can't then we'll communicate with him in any way we can. We'll tell him that we're his parents and that he's going to be safe and come home with us".
Belle hugged him and said "I hope he is still a baby. I don't want to see him grow up like that. I can't. I couldn't take it if I knew that I did that to him".
Gold told her "He's going to be all right. And no matter what, it's not your fault and he's going to have two parents that love him and will do anything for him".
Belle responded "I'm so glad I have you Rumple. I couldn't do this without you".
Gold said "I'm his father and your husband. I'll never leave you, and especially not when it comes to our son".
Belle said, "Thank you Rumple, thank you for being there for our family".
Gold told her "I always have, and I always will".
Belle was happy to hear this and said "Now, let's go find our son". Belle and Gold continued their search.
Charming and Jane and as Jane remarked "I hope the others have found him. I don't want all of this to be for". They both heard something moving in the tree and Jane said "Nothing".
Charming said "I'll check it out. You stay here and I'll be right back". Charming ran off to check what it was, and Jane sat on a rock.
Jane heard more rustling and called out more rustling but this time from the nearby bushes and said "David. Is that you". Jane then saw a baby gorilla come out and upon noticing what it was Jane said "Well, hello there little one. Are you lost. Oh, daddy would love to meet you but I'm sure your mummy is right nearby why don't you go search for her. Come on. Go on. We don't want mummy finding you with me. Mummy's get very protective of their babies when they are around strangers. Trust me, I know. So, go on. Go on and find her because I'm sure she's very worried about you". The baby gorilla didn't move, and she told it "Oh, come on now. You need to go. You don't want to stray too far from".
Gideon dropped down from the tree and scared Jane a little. Jane jumped back startled, and she saw that Gideon had picked up the baby gorilla in his arms. She said "Oh, it's a man. I'm so sorry to intrude but you haven't seen a little boy around here have you". Gideon turned to her and was stunned to see another person. He had never seen anyone like him before, except in his dreams. Gideon stood up and looked at her and stared at her and she stared back into his eyes until he made some grunting sounds with his mouth that sounded to her like a gorilla. Jane was stunned to hear this and not expecting grunts to come out instead of words. Jane asked, "Can you speak English or do you only grunt". Gideon grunted some more before the baby gorilla spoke to Gideon and Gideon responded by speaking gorilla back to him. Jane realised that he was talking to the gorilla, like actually talking and not what she was doing. Jane thought she better back away from the wild man and as she did, she said "Well, I better be leaving you. Don't want to waste your time. I've got a child to find, and I can't stick around".
Jane turned around and began to walk away when Gideon noticed this and said "Tarzan".
Jane heard this and turned and asked, "What did you say".
Gideon pointed to himself and said "Tarzan".
Jane responded "Tarzan". Gideon made an excided grunt happy that Jane got it correct. And Jane realised and said "Oh, I see".
Gideon responded "Oh, I see. Tarzan. Oh, I see".
Jane realised his mistake and said "No, no, no. No" before clearing her throat and said, "I'm Jane".
Gideon responded "No, no, no. No" before clearing his throat and said, "I'm Jane".
Jane responded, "No. No". She then pointed to herself and said, "Jane" before pointing to him and saying, "Tarzan" before she pointed back to herself and said, "Jane".
Gideon caressed her face and said "Jane".
Jane responded "Exactly".
Charming called out "Jane".
Jane said "David".
Gideon got panicked about hearing the noises and jumped up with the baby gorilla in his arms and landed on a tree branch. Jane called out "No. Wait. Stop". But Gideon didn't stop and as he began to swing on vines away carrying the baby gorilla in his arms, he accidently dropped a book that was on him, and it landed in front of Jane.
Jane rushed over and picked it up. She saw it was a book titled 'her handsome hero' and wondered why he had it on him. Charming came out and said "I'm sorry I was gone so long. I couldn't find any sign of anything. What's that".
Jane answered "A book. I found it".
Charming asked "Here. On the ground. In the jungle".
Jane said, "No. He had it on him".
Charming asked "He. Who are you talking about".
Jane answered "Tarzan. The wild man".
Charming asked "Wild man".
Jane responded "Yes. I saw a wild man. He just here. I heard rustling and saw a baby gorilla. Then the wild man came and spoke to me. Well, he didn't speak. He grunted, like a gorilla but he did tell me his name. Tarzan".
Charming asked "Tarzan".
Jane responded "Yes, and he spoke to the baby. Like, literally spoke to it. You could tell that it could understand him. Literally a man who could speak to gorillas. Then we heard you and he left but he dropped this. This is his book, but I don't have any idea why a wild man would have a book. He can't speak English, but he can mimic. He mimics my name back to me".
Charming said, "I think we should get back to where your parents have set up camp".
Jane asked, "What about the little boy".
Charming said, "I think we should go back and tell everyone this first".
Jane accepted and said "Okay, but I don't think anybody will believe me when I tell them about the Wildman".
Charming responded "Oh Jane. I think they will".
Jane and Charming went back to the camp and saw that everyone had come back before them. Belle asked "Did you see any sign of him. Any sign of my son".
Charming answered "No. But Jane found something and needs to show you".
Jane said "Okay, so while we were looking. We heard a noise and when David went to investigate it, I saw a baby gorilla".
Cyrus asked "Ooh, my Janey. Where. Where".
Jane answered, "In the jungle and I told it to go find it's mother when the wild man appeared".
Emma asked "Wildman".
Jane answered "Yes. He appeared and he spoke to the baby gorilla. Like literally spoke to it and then when I tried to leave, he told me his name. He told me that his name was Tarzan and".
Henry interrupted excitedly "Tarzan".
Emma said, "Not now Henry".
Jane said "But anyway after a little confusion he got my name. He could only mimic and didn't speak English, but he got it. He called me Jane and then when David came back, he fled. He fled but dropped this". Jane showed them all the book and said, "I don't know why the Wildman had a book since he can't speak but he had it".
Belle went over and saw that it was 'Her handsome her'. The book she gave Gideon. Belle asked, "Are you sure this was the book he had on him".
Jane answered "Yes".
Belle took the book out and examined it. She opened the cover to see the note that she wrote to Gideon and knew that the wild man Jane saw was either Gideon or someone who took it from him. Either way Belle needed to find this Wildman and her son. Belle demanded "Take me back out there. Take me out there right now".
Jane asked "Wha, what are you talking about".
Belle demanded "I need to know where you met him. I need to meet this Wildman".
Jane responded, "I don't know, he just, he just left".
Cyrus came over and asked, "What is this all about".
Alice asked, "Why do you need to see this Wildman".
Belle grabbed the book and answered "Because this is my book. This is the book that I gave my son. It was the only thing he had on him and if the Wildman had this on him".
Cyrus understood and said, "Then he might be your son".
Belle said "Either that or knows where he is. Either way I need to find him and get him to take me to my son". Now, come on".
Belle immediately began walking in the direction that Charming and Jane came from when everyone followed her, and Jane said "He left. I don't know where he's gone".
Belle responded "Then take me to where you last saw him and the direction he went. It's something and better than sitting on our arses wondering where my son is".
Henry remarked to Emma "She sure is determined. I've never seen Belle like this".
Emma answered "She's a mother kid. It's what happens. You should have seen me in Neverland with you".
Hook remarked "Yeah, I've never met anyone as relentless as you were".
Emma responded "Thanks".
Charming led them to the spot where Jane last saw the wild man and when Charming stopped, he said "We're here. This is the last place that the wild man was".
Belle turned to Jane and asked "So, which way did he go".
Jane pointed and said "That way. He just leaped into the air and began swinging on vines".
Belle said "Good. We have a direction. Let's go".
Charming said "Belle. It's getting late. We should really go back to the camp and start tomorrow".
Belle retorted "Tomorrow, my son's out there right now".
Charming said "I know, and we'll find him but if we go any longer, we'll be searching in the dark and. I think it's better if we go back and start again tomorrow".
Belle was angered at hearing this and walked straight in front of Charming and said "Tomorrow. I bet if it was Henry or Emma or even Regina. We'd be forced to march in that jungle until our feet bled. And then we wouldn't stop until we found them. Stop acting like your family is more important than anyone else's because you're not. My son is important and I'm going in there to find him whether you come or not. So, go back to the camp for all I care. But I'm going in there and I'm not stopping until I find my son. Come on Rumple, our boy needs us".
Gold accepted and was actually really enjoying watching his wife take charge like she was. She didn't need his help, and he certainly wasn't going to stop her. Gold and Belle walked off into the jungle while everyone else looked at each other before relenting and following them. They walked until they could see and that's when Charming said "Stop. We need light". He then picked up a couple of branches and made torches. He gave one to Gold, Cyrus, Hook, and then the last one to Emma. After he handed the last one to Emma he said, "We're ready to continue".
Belle was thankful and continued to lead them. Gold remarked "I've never seen you so determined in my life".
Belle answered "Well, that's probably because it's our son that we're searching for, and I know that he's not safe until he's back with us".
Gold responded "We'll find him. I promise we won't stop until we find him, but we can take a break. It's been hours and everyone's exhausted, including you".
Belle said "No Rumple. We will not stop or take a break and if you saw what I saw than you wouldn't either".
Gold asked "What did you see. You said that you and him were back in the dream world together".
Belle answered "I saw him. I saw Gideon. And I saw that he was scared and alone. He was crying and it's all my fault".
Gold grabbed her and said, "It's not your fault".
Belle asked "Is it. I'm the one that sent him away. I'm the one that put him in danger. I'm the reason that he might be an adult and had to grow up scared and alone".
Gold said, "I know, and I blame myself as well but killing ourselves is not going to help us find him".
Belle said "I need to do this Rumple. If I stop then I feel like a failure. I can't stop. I can't fail my son. I've already done enough of that already".
Gold said "One hour. Take one hour's rest and then we continue. I promise you resting is not giving up. It's regaining your strength so we can continue. I know why you are doing this, and I feel the same way, but this is what's needed for us. Us so we can find Gideon. Find him and bring our son home".
Belle looked at Gold and relented. She said "Okay. We rest for one hour but then we continue".
Emma exclaimed "Thank God".
They all sat down, and Belle was unhappy with herself over the decision she made. Gold noticed this and grabbed her hand and told her "You did the right thing. I'm with you no matter what". This made Belle feel better, but she still wanted to get up and search for her son.
