WARNING! SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 4!!! DO NOT READ THIS UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN IT!!!
Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars.
Silence had settled as Baylan, Shin, and the now imprisoned Sabine Wren left the surface of Seatos. Baylan glanced at Shin, "Are you alright?" he asked quietly.
"I'm fine," Shin replied. She felt fine, and she had only been dazed for a few moments after Tano threw her into that rock. Even if she had been in pain, she certainly wouldn't have admitted it in front of a prisoner. They docked with The Eye of Sion and Shin couldn't help feeling a bit nervous. If Morgan's calculations were off by the slightest bit...well, she didn't want to think of all the things that could go wrong. Not to mention the possible dangers of using that many hyperdrives. Failure of just one would be catastrophic. Morgan ordered the droids to make the jump, the hyperdrives began to fire up, and then...they were in hyperspace. The plan, thus far, was working. They were safely away now, and the adrenaline that had been keeping Shin from feeling the effects of any injuries she may have sustained was quickly wearing off. Her upper back and shoulders had taken the brunt of the impact of being slammed into the rock. If she had sustained a concussion, it must've only been mild because the effects had worn off quickly. She experimented, though discreetly, by tensing and relaxing the muscles in her back and then very carefully moving her shoulders. There was pain, but it was bearable. She stilled, as there was no need to put herself through more than necessary. She was being careful not to project into the Force, but Baylan must've sensed something, because he had partially turned to study her.
"Baylan," Morgan said, not bothering to turn around, "You and your apprentice can go rest, I will look after the prisoner."
"Thank you, Lady Morgan," Baylan said, motioning for Shin to follow him. Shin let go of Sabine's wrist, glaring at her before following Baylan out. Surprisingly, Morgan had made sure that there was a room for them aboard the Eye of Sion. It was small, consisting of two bunks, some storage, and an attached fresher. "Are you alright?" Baylan repeated his earlier question, then added, "And tell me the truth this time."
Shin hesitated, tempted to downplay the pain and insist she'd be fine, but Baylan had a look in his eyes that was demanding the truth. "My upper back took most of the impact," she said, "I don't have symptoms of a concussion, I was only dazed for a few minutes." There was a mixture of anger and concern in Baylan's eyes as he stepped foward. He hesitantly placed his hands on her shoulders, and sighed. If that rock hadn't been there, Shin may have been thrown right off the cliff. She stood before him now, only a bit bruised, but he could've lost her. Shin watched the emotions flashing through Baylan's eyes and stepped foward, carefully wrapping her arms around him, "It's okay Master, I'm okay," she said. Baylan returned the embrace carefully at first, but them he tighten his grip on her, being mindful to avoid the her upper back. He could relax. Shin was okay now. Thrawn's return was imminent, and Ahsoka Tano was no longer a concern. Baylan had taken care of her. Afterall, no one got away with hurting his apprentice.
A/N: I have a thousand thoughts about episode 4, but I'll only share a few. 1. Upon re-watching the episode I noticed that Shin was not knocked unconscious, if you look closely in the very next frame, she moves her hand up to her throat and then we don't see her again until she's Force choking Sabine. 2. Was it just me, or did Baylan seem pretty angry that Ahsoka threw Shin into that rock? He definitely cares about her. 3. When he tells her to stop choking Sabine, he said her name with that same kind of warning tone that a parent uses with their child. 4. Shin seemed pretty upset that Marrok died. Okay, enough of my brain's overly hyped thoughts. I apologize for any grammar mistakes. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
