Chapter Twenty: A New Beginning with the Original DigiDestined
After the intense battles against Ruinmon, Alex found himself at a crossroads. The Book of Darkness, still in his possession, hummed softly, signaling that his journey was far from over. Alexa, his ever-reliable guide, informed him of a new ripple in the Digital World: the timeline had shifted, pulling him into a world where the original DigiDestined fought their battles.

Arrival in a Familiar World
Alex opened his eyes to find himself standing in a bustling city park. The air felt familiar yet different—this was the human world, but not his. As he took in his surroundings, a group of kids and their Digimon approached him, their faces a mix of caution and curiosity.
"Who are you?" a boy with goggles on his head asked, stepping forward.
"I'm Alex," he replied. "I was… drawn here by something."
"I'm Tai," the boy said, extending a hand. "And these are the DigiDestined." He gestured to the group behind him: Matt, Sora, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, T.K., Kari, and their partner Digimon.
Alex's eyes widened. He recognized them from the stories Alexa had shared. These were the legendary DigiDestined who had saved the Digital World before.
"You're the original DigiDestined," Alex said, awe in his voice.
"How do you know about us?" Izzy asked, tilting his head.
"It's a long story," Alex said, holding up the Book of Darkness. "But I think I'm here for a reason."

Meeting the Team
The group sat down in the park as Alex explained his journey so far—his battles with Ruinmon, the power of the Book of Darkness, and his partnership with Grimdramon. The DigiDestined listened intently, their Digimon occasionally chiming in with questions.
"So, you're saying there's another big bad out there?" Tai asked, his brow furrowing.
"Ruinmon's been defeated, but there's always another threat," Alex said. "And the Book of Darkness brought me here for a reason. I think it has something to do with you."
"I've never heard of a Digivice like yours," Izzy said, examining Alex's device. "And that book… it's unlike anything we've encountered."
"Whatever it is, we're in this together now," Tai said, clapping Alex on the shoulder.
Kari stepped forward, her partner Gatomon by her side. "You seem different from us. Like… you're carrying a lot of weight."
Alex nodded. "I've made mistakes, and I've lost people I care about. But I'm trying to make things right."
Kari smiled gently. "Then you're exactly where you need to be."

Training with the DigiDestined
Over the next few days, Alex bonded with the DigiDestined. He trained alongside them, learning their strategies and sharing his own. Grimdramon quickly became an integral part of the team, his dark yet noble presence earning the respect of the other Digimon.
During a sparring session, Agumon faced off against Grimdramon, their fiery and shadowy attacks clashing spectacularly.
"You've got some serious skills," Tai said as the Digimon called a truce.
"Thanks," Alex said, wiping sweat from his brow. "You're not so bad yourself."
As they trained, Alex began to notice something strange. The Book of Darkness reacted strongly whenever he was near Kari. It pulsed with a faint light, as if recognizing her.
"What's going on?" Alex muttered, clutching the book.
Alexa appeared in a flicker of light. "The Book of Darkness is tied to light and shadow. Kari's presence as the keeper of light is likely causing this reaction."
"Does that mean she's connected to the book somehow?" Alex asked.
"It's possible," Alexa said. "But we'll need more information."

A New Threat
One evening, as the group was discussing their next move, a dark vortex appeared in the sky. From it emerged a massive Digimon, its body twisted with corruption.
"That's… SkullKnightmon," Izzy said, his voice filled with dread.
"He's one of Ruinmon's lieutenants," Alex said, standing. "But I thought we defeated him."
"He must have been drawn here by the book," Alexa said. "His data is tied to its power."
The DigiDestined quickly prepared for battle, their Digimon digivolving to their Champion and Ultimate forms. Alex and Grimdramon joined the fight, their coordination seamless as they faced the powerful foe.
"Grimdramon, Shadow Nova!" Alex shouted.
Grimdramon unleashed a burst of dark energy, striking SkullKnightmon and forcing him to retreat.
As the battle ended, the group gathered to assess the situation.
"This is just the beginning," Alex said. "If SkullKnightmon is here, others will follow."
"Then we'll face them together," Tai said, his voice filled with determination.
Alex looked around at the group, feeling a sense of belonging he hadn't felt in a long time. For the first time, he felt like he wasn't alone in his fight.
