Chapter 52: Awakening
Last Time our heroes entered the evil Babidi's ship to put a stop to his plans. After easily making through several layers they are forced to fight the Demon King Dabura while holding back their strength to prevent Buu's revival. But unexpectedly Vegeta turns as he lets the wizard take control!
Using the opportunity Vegeta demands a fight with Goku as Jason takes on Dabura to allow Gohan and the Supreme Kai to get to Babidi! Will our heroes succeed? Find out Now!
Babidi's Ship Third Level…
Goku and Vegeta stared each other down as the wind of the planet Babidi had made the room blew against them. Both Saiyans were at the peak of Super Saiyan 2 as they prepared to make their move against the other.
Finally, as a piece of rubble hit the ground, the two shot towards one another and clashed fists shattering the dirt below them. The two flew all over the terrain shattering everything in their way as they fought.
Vegeta threw a punch at Goku's face, but the Saiyan of Earth countered by blocking with his raised leg and hooking it around Vegeta's arm. With a firm hold on Vegeta, Goku flipped over and tossed him into a nearby rock pillar before firing a hail of Ki.
The Saiyan Prince pushed through and slammed his fist into Goku's gut. Vegeta then opened his palm and fired a large beam sending Goku into a nearby pond. With the cover of water, Goku created several balls of Ki, much like he did with Frieza though this time hundredfold.
When he was ready, he launched his attack at Vegeta, who floated above the pond. He himself was charging his own attack, which he had to fire prematurely due to Goku's attack. This, in turn, forced Goku out of the pond as he sent the rest of his Ki balls at Vegeta.
With all the energy heading his way, Vegeta decided to take it all out with a massive shockwave of energy, pushing Goku's attack away. Then Vegeta flew full speed at Goku, grabbing onto his head and slamming him into the ground.
"This time Kakarot. I shall not lose to you!" Vegeta declared, and he punched Goku in the face digging it deeper and deeper into the ground.
But as Vegeta reared his fist back once more, Goku kicked him in the gut sending him away. Giving chase, Goku followed Vegeta hitting him further and further away. That it until Vegeta caught Goku's fist and kneed him in the gut.
The two Saiyans stayed locked like that, exchanging several devastating blows to one another. It was soon ended as Goku headbutted Vegeta before firing a quick Kamehameha. Vegeta didn't go far as he split the Kamehameha then fired a Galick Gun.
Goku took the brunt of the attack but was knocked back down when Vegeta appeared above him and kicked him down. When Goku hit the ground, he skidded to a stop then hopped onto a pillar. Vegeta landed on an adjacent pillar as he smirked sinisterly at Goku.
Though Goku knew that this fight would be bad and further quicken Buu's revival and that he had to stop Vegeta. But he could help but smirk as he was having pretty fun as Vegeta took his regular stance while Goku took a lower stance mimicking their very first fight.
"So still think you can knock some sense into me?" Vegeta questioned.
"Yep. So let's not waste more time." Goku responded as they charged at one another and continued their bout.
Goku kicked Vegeta in the chin before throwing a left hook into Vegeta's cheek, pushing him back towards the ground. The Saiyan Prince retaliated by slamming his foot into Goku's gut before firing a Final Impact sending Goku away.
Vegeta then fired off several blasts of Ki that followed Goku, who had stopped his momentum. The Saiyan of Earth deflected all of the blasts and met Vegeta halfway as the two collided with a cross counter.
Pulling away, both Saiyans spun around and kicked at one another with their respective attacks countering one another. This continued for a while as the two matched one another's attacks over and over.
Until the two threw punches that clashed, which shattered the surrounding area with its shockwave. Before either could pull back, Vegeta grabbed onto Goku's arm and tossed him into a pillar. Vegeta proceeded to fire a Final Impact to hit Goku while he is down.
Not to take that lightly, Goku fired off a quick Kamehameha to repel Vegeta's attack before charging in and planting his fist into Vegeta's face. This sent Vegeta flying as Goku quickly followed, hitting him more and more.
But Vegeta countered by created a small ball of Ki and unleashing it on Goku's head. As Goku reeled from the pain, Vegeta kicked him down, following it up with a Final Flash. Crossing his arms, Goku took the attack as it pushed him to the ground and through several rock formations.
Goku roared as he created a shockwave of power to escape Vegeta's attack. He then joined his hands and fired a large Kamehameha to which Vegeta countered with a Galick Gun. The two beams clashed, unearthing the ground below and evaporating the water.
Each beam remained in equilibrium until the two Saiyans stopped their attacks. Both looked at one another sternly before cracking exciting smiles. Though the situation shouldn't call for it, both were excited and having fun.
Nearby…
Jason was on the defensive as all four Daburas attacked him. He only managed to land a few hits here and there, and they weren't anything special. But Jason wasn't going to be put down so easily as even though he couldn't use Super Saiyan Primal, he had trained years for this day.
For years he trained in case Majin Buu was real so that he would be prepared to protect his friends and his family. So even though he was still in a bad situation, Jason wasn't going to let himself lose.
As one of the Dabura's attacked him, Jason caught the attack with his tail before spinning around to kick him in the head. Then he proceeded to plant his elbow in another Dabura's head as he fired a Buster Flare to send the third away.
The fourth nailed Jason in the gut with a kick, but the Saiyan grabbed onto Dabura's leg and tossed him towards the ground. Just then, he was shot in the back by the other three Daburas, who fired beams into his back.
This sent him into a large pool of water. Before Jason could get out, the Daburas bombarded the pool with energy blasts. They held nothing back as they continued to do this for several minutes on end.
But unknown to them, Jason was no longer in the pool as he had dug his way out and around in order to get the jump on them. And do so he did as Jason broke through the ground and landed a strong blow to one of the Daburas chin sending him flying to the sky.
He then exploded with energy sending the others away before firing two Splitting Flares, which knocked them around before erupting in a fiery explosion. Jason then fueled his fists with Ki, and he shot down towards one of the Daburas.
"Eat this!" Jason shouted as he opened his hands, allowing his energy to create claws on his fingers.
"Dragon Claw!" Jason yelled as his hand dug into one of the Daburas gut. He then kicked him up and sliced him in half.
"It took me two years to develop this technique. Combining the power of the Dragon Fist with the sharp edge of Palm Slicer was a perfect combination." Jason thought as the Dabura disappeared.
No sooner than he did, Jason's technique disappeared. While it was powerful, he couldn't sustain it for very long, especially in Super Saiyan 2. Just as his attack dissipated, the remaining three Daburas attacked, tackling Jason to the ground.
As two pinned Jason on the ground, the third conjured a sword and thrust it towards Jason's chest, only to be stopped by Jason's tail that snapped the blade. He then smacked one of the Daburas that held him down away, which allowed him to throw the second into the third.
"Are you sure you're the Demon King? Zandaka and Sekai were far stronger than you?" Jason goaded.
"Don't get cocky yet. I do not aim to win but to draw as much energy from you as I can." Dabura stated.
"Soon, with the energy gathered from you and the two fighting over there, Master Babidi's ambition shall be completed," Dabura smirked.
"He's right. If things don't change soon, Buu will be revived. I need to finish Dabura off fast." Jason thought.
"Hopefully, Gohan and Shin can stop Babidi before it's too late. Then we can avoid this altogether." Jason hoped as he reengaged the three Daburas.
Jason slammed one into the ground immediately before flipping over to kick the second, but the third hit him in the back of the head. The Saiyan landed on his hands and kicked the third Dabura with both legs.
Getting back to his feet, Jason jumped into the air to avoid an attack by a Dabura before firing a Mega Flare into the Dabura's back. Before he could even breathe, a Dabura grabbed onto his leg and threw him into a nearby rock formation.
The other two Daburas followed conjuring swords and sliced at Jason, who narrowly dodged the blades save for a few scrapes. Creating two Palm Slicers, Jason cut the two swords in two before removing one of the Daburas arms.
Jason slammed his fist into one of the Daburas gut sending him away, allowing him to focus on the one whose arm he had removed. The Saiyan attacked, not giving the Dabura an inch as he focused on the side of the missing arm before ultimately finishing him off with a Nova Crusher.
"Two more to go." Jason sighed as he turned to see the two charging towards him.
"This is wasting too much time and energy," Jason muttered.
Jason crossed his arms as the two attacked, pushing him back. But Jason knocked the two aside as he opened his arms and fired several streams of energy. Quickly following up, Jason slammed one of the Daburas into the ground.
Before he could make the final blow, the other Dabura attack from behind, slicing Jason in the back with his sword. It hurt, but Jason took it in stride as he charged energy into his leg and broke through Dabura's sword, and drove his foot into his chest, dispatching the clone.
"Looks like it's just you and me now." Jason chuckled as the real Dabura stood up.
"True, but I believe the necessary energy will soon be taken," Dabura smirked.
Babidi's Ship Lowest Deck…
"What's wrong, Supreme Kai? Can't stop my magic?" Babidi goaded as he and his clones circled Gohan and the Supreme Kai.
Gohan fired several beams at the clones Babidi had made of himself to buy time as Buu's meter reached eighty percent. The Supreme Kai was using his power to prevent Babidi from using his magic to send both Gohan and the Supreme Kai away.
But that left him completely open to attacks which Gohan had to protect them from the evil wizard while simultaneously attacking Babidi. However, Gohan was unable to figure out which was the real one and couldn't use too much energy as Buu was too close to being revived.
"Damn, this isn't good! I can't take out Babidi fast enough, nor can I go and remove the egg from the energy collector without putting the Supreme Kai's life at risk!" Gohan thought.
He then fired several beams taking out several Babidi's at once, but they quickly replaced themselves and now created shields upon them. The amount of magic Babidi was able to use was too much, which the Supreme Kai struggled to contain.
It was only up close that he was able to interfere, and even then, the Supreme Kai had to put his focus on preventing Babidi from sending him and Gohan elsewhere. Because of this, the two were in a bad predicament as Buu's revival drew closer.
"Soon. Very soon. Buu shall awaken and kill you all, and then the universe shall be mine for the taking!" Babidi cackled.
Though it was risky, Gohan had no choice but to make a larger attack. But it wasn't without a plan as he eyed Buu's egg. As Babidi cackled, believing that he will soon achieve his goal, he was forced to cover his eyes from a blinding blue light.
"What are you doing?" One of the Babidi's questioned as Gohan charged his Kamehameha.
"This!" Gohan shouted as he fired his beam. He bent the beam in a circle, taking out several Babidis before hitting the egg.
Both Babidi and the Supreme Kai were shocked as Gohan pushed the egg harder and harder, slowly taking it off of the energy collector. But the meter kept going up and up, forcing Gohan to fire full blast, finally pushing it off the collector as the meter stopped at ninety-seven percent.
"No!" Babidi cried out as he dispelled his clones to put the egg back. But no sooner than he did, he was captured by Gohan, who covered the wizard's mouth.
"Sorry Babidi, but you will not be reviving Buu," Shin stated as he looked at the meter.
"Just in time too." Shin sighed until the ground began to shake violently.
"What's going on?!" Shin questioned.
"This energy…" Gohan began.
"IT'S DAD!" Gohan gasped.
Nearby…
"Uh, what's going on?" Trunks questioned as he and Goten stopped flying after sensing the massive energy spike.
"I don't know, but something bad must be happening!" Goten responded.
"Isn't that your Dad's energy?" Trunks asked.
"Yeah! Let's hurry!" Goten answered.
"Right!" Trunks agreed as they shot off towards where they sensed the energy.
Grand Kai's Planet…
"NO GOKU, DON'T DO IT!" King Kai cried.
"What the…is Goku using his new form?" Evan questioned.
"Y-Yes…if he does, then…all is lost." King Kai stuttered.
Earlier with Goku and Vegeta…
Vegeta planted Goku's head into the ground as he raised his free hand to create a ball of Ki to slam into Goku's chest. However, Goku grabbed his arm and kneed Vegeta in the stomach forcing the Saiyan Prince to let go of Goku.
Goku then forced Vegeta to fire the ball into the ground, throwing them both into the air as the ground exploded. The two Saiyans stuck close as they exchanged blows before separating and fired hails of Ki at one another.
This resulted in large explosions that filled the sky with fire and smoke that only dissipated when the two ceased firing. When the smoke cleared, Vegeta and Goku stared at one another as their bodies were bruised and clothes torn.
But that didn't stop the two from continuing the fight, as they held nothing back in their respective forms. But Vegeta was angry. Not because he wasn't winning yet. Not because Goku was overpowering him. But because he could tell Goku was holding back.
He didn't know what it was Goku was holding back. Whether it was just a large pit of energy he hadn't tapped in yet or something else Vegeta didn't know. But none the less, it infuriated Vegeta as it was a blatant insult to him.
His energy exploded as he fired a massive Final Flash so large that Goku was forced to fly off to avoid the attack. Vegeta appeared above Goku, and after joining his hands, he knocked Goku back towards the ground before finishing off with a Big Bang Attack.
"Get back up, Kakarot. I know that wasn't enough to put you down!" Vegeta demanded as Goku slowly rose from the smoke.
"You've gotten strong, Vegeta. It's a shame that you're wasting it like this." Goku commented as he stopped at Vegeta's level.
"I'm disappointed," Goku added.
"Don't insult me, Kakarot! You don't understand what it's like to lose like this! To have everything you were raised to believe it shattered in an instant!" Vegeta began.
"To have what was supposed to be your birthright stripped from you! I was once one of the strongest Saiyans but now look at me! Forced to do this just to catch up to you!" Vegeta shouted.
"The most humiliating blow to my pride was losing to a low born such as yourself, and I can never wash that away. Not until I beat you!" Vegeta stated.
"I will sacrifice everything. My family, life, and even my pride to defeat you, Kakarot." Vegeta finished.
"So why? Why are you holding back?!" Vegeta questioned.
"How dare you insult me by holding back your power after all I've sacrificed!" Vegeta seethed, shocking Goku.
"So you figured it out." Goku sighed.
"I had wanted to hold it back or else risk Buu's revival. And because I wanted to give you a fair fight." Goku explained.
"Don't give me that crap. We're risking that well enough already, Kakarot. And give me a fair fight? Don't make me laugh!" Vegeta spat.
"Do you think anyone else would do that? Would Gohan? Arrow?! They fought me all out, especially Arrow and his Super Saiyan Primal form!" Vegeta began.
"So, don't you dare use that excuse to insult me!" Vegeta finished as he glared at a speechless Goku.
"I see," Goku murmured.
"I thought I understood your feelings, Vegeta, but I was wrong. I'm sorry." Goku apologized.
"I know that to get you to your senses, I'll have to take this seriously," Goku stated.
"Get ready, Vegeta!" Goku shouted as he began to power up.
"RRRRAAAAGGGGHHHHH!" Goku screamed as he powered up.
The sheer energy he was releasing broke the planet beneath them as storms raged. Vegeta could only look in shock as Goku's power increase further and further, and his hair began to slowly extend. The energy was uncontained and seemed to go wild.
Though Goku's power wasn't reaching the heights of Jason in Super Saiyan Primal, it was still far above what Vegeta was expecting. It was not a fearsome power Vegeta felt from Jason's Super Saiyan Primal form. It was more of a calm fury that washed over everything.
Goku was surrounded by a ball of golden energy as his hair grew more and far longer than Jason's in Super Saiyan Primal and his eyebrows disappeared. Soon it was over as Goku floated there in front of Vegeta with his waist-long hair and strong gaze.
"Well, this is it, Vegeta. This is my all. My newest form. Super Saiyan 3." Goku stated as Vegeta began to sweat.
"So…this is what you spent the past seven years to achieve." Vegeta stammered.
"Ha! Damn. Outdone again." Vegeta sighed as he readied himself.
Seeing Vegeta ready to continue was all Goku needed as, in a flash, he slammed his left fist into Vegeta's stomach, sending him miles away through several rock formations. When Goku caught up, he found Vegeta barely clinging to consciousness.
Goku then fished a Senzu from his torn Gi and gave it to Vegeta, who ate it up and slowly got up. Vegeta could still feel the power of Goku's punch ring through his body even now after he ate the Senzu.
"Are you done, Vegeta?" Goku asked.
"Yes. This is all I needed." Vegeta responded as he held his head down.
Just then, before either could say any more, the ground beneath them began to shake again, but this time far greater than when Goku transformed. Nearby, Jason, who was still fighting Dabura, stopped as the ground began to break apart. Soon the ground exploded as everyone was returned to Earth.
Earth…
Gohan lost his grip on Babidi as he and the Supreme Kai jumped back as Buu's egg released massive amounts of energy. Goku's transformation had released so much energy that it triggered Buu's seal.
"Supreme Kai is this…?" Gohan began to ask.
"Yes, because of that last disturbance, Buu is waking up," Shin answered as Trunks and Goten finally arrived.
The two watched the situation in shock and fear before seeing the statues of Krillin and Piccolo. Goten picked up Krillin as the ground collapsed and consumed Piccolo's statue. This caused Goten to hold onto Krillin's statue far tighter.
Grand Kai's Planet…
"Oh shit." Evan gasped as he and every other resident on Grand Kai's planet stared into the sky as they sensed the massive energy.
"It's happening! We should be ready for the worst!" King Kai cried.
"Yemma's going to have a long day." King Kai sighed.
World Martial Arts Arena…
"What's going on?" Bulma questioned as she held onto a nearby pole.
"Don't tell me they failed to stop that wizard?" Chi-Chi wondered as buildings began to collapse as people ran around in a panic.
The ground began to collapse, and several people fell as buildings and structures crushed others while the seas flowed in with large tsunamis. To get away from it all, Bulma pulled out her capsules and brought out her ship, and flew up.
Everyone watched in horror as the fairgrounds collapsed, taking several lives save Mr. Satan, who flew off in his own private ship looking for Videl. 18 consoled her crying daughter as everyone sat in silence.
"This is bad," Videl commented as Bulma rummaged through her bag before pulling out the Dragon Radar.
"But we have a way to fix it." Bulma declared as she flew off to find the Dragon Balls.
Remnant…
Neo, who had just put Roman to sleep, stood stock still as she sensed an enormous energy far off in the distance. Even though he couldn't sense energy, the very presence woke Roman as Scarlet came into the room looking terrified.
"Mommy, is that what daddy's going to fight?" Scarlet asked as she ran to Neo, tears running from her eyes.
She clung to her mother as she too could feel the energy even though she lacked the training to sense it. Neo just held her and Roman close, praying that it wasn't Buu she was sensing. Around the planet, everyone who could sense energy had the same reaction as they knew something terrible was about to occur.
Elias stood on the roof of the Orphanage holding his son Adriel close to comfort him. A cold sweat ran down his forehead. He knew for sure that this must have been the power of Majin Buu and hoped that his friend would be able to make it out okay.
"You want to help, don't you?" Amber asked as she joined her husband.
"Yes, but…I don't think with my current strength that I'll be of any help." Elias sighed as Amber held his hand.
Ruins of Babidi's Ship…
Jason, having ditched Dabura, sped towards where he sensed the massive energy surge immediately transforming into Super Saiyan Primal to get there faster. When he arrived, he joined Gohan, and the Supreme Kai as Buu's egg finally opened up.
However, instead of Buu, it was a cloud of pink smoke that took to the sky as the quakes stopped. Babidi jumped into the egg and looked around, pulling it apart only to find nothing within.
"What? Where is Buu?" Babidi questioned as Goku and Vegeta soon joined.
"Buu's not here?" Goku gasped as he looked around.
"What's that?" Vegeta inquired as they looked up at the pink smoke.
The smoke moved and converged in on itself as the power that shook the entire Earth slowly began to rise again. This gained everyone's attention as Dabura shot to Babidi's side as the smoke formed a body and Buu finally appeared.
"RAAAGGGHHH!" Buu screamed as his body formed and he hit the ground.
Buu was large, easily eight feet tall, with a slim pink body with a small antenna on his head. He wore no shirt but did wear baggy white pants with black armbands and boots. Additionally, on his belt was the Majin symbol that was on both Dabura's and Vegeta's forehead.
"IT WORKED!" Babidi exclaimed.
"Buu has awoken!" Babidi laughed as the Supreme Kai shook with fear.
"This is far worse than I feared!" Shin gasped as everyone was on edge, even Dabura.
"Buu…he's far stronger than he was the last time!" Shin declared, much to everyone's surprise.
"So you're saying that this power that we're feeling? Wasn't what he was like before?" Jason inquired as his hand shook.
"Yes. He must have been gaining power over the years, resting in the seal. Buu is far greater of a threat than I thought." Shin explained.
Jason knew it was true the energy he sensed was far greater than his own. It was far greater than Zandaka's than Sekai's or any foe he had fought before. Buu's power was most likely three times his own, if not more.
"Master Babidi, are you sure you can control this creature?" Dabura questioned.
"Are you questioning me, Dabura? My father created this creature. He must obey me or else be sealed again!" Babidi answered.
"Buu as the son of your creator, I order you to kill everyone here, starting with the Supreme Kai!" Babidi ordered.
Buu just turned to stare at Babidi with his red eyes, not responding to the small wizard. Suddenly a large beam shot from his eyes, and before Babidi or Dabura could react, they were erased. All that was left was a massive hole where Babidi and Dabura once were.
Everyone stood shocked at the sight, even Trunks and Goten, especially when the petrified Krillin returned to normal. Buu then turned to the others, who nervously stood their ground. Jason being the strongest present, attempted to take a step forward but ended up stepping back.
"What the? Why can't I approach him? Am I…scared?" Jason wondered.
This was the first time Jason felt fear like this before. Even when he faces Cooler for the first time didn't compare to this. Clenching his fist and gritting his teeth, Jason moved his foot back to where it was.
He looked around at the others taking note of their equally nervous expressions as well as noting Goku's new form. No one was ready to make the first move, but someone had to, and if it wasn't them, then it would be Buu who continued to stare at them.
"Shin. What are our odds?" Jason asked.
"I don't see any chance of us winning," Shin answered.
"Damn. Well, we can't give up now." Jason replied as cold sweat ran down.
"So get to safety now!" Jason ordered as he shot towards Buu.
Jason fired off several blasts before punching at Buu, who took the blasts in stride before planting his fist in Jason's gut faster than he could register. He coughed up blood before Buu grabbed onto his head and tossed Jason around.
He extended his arm and throwing Jason into a nearby mountain. Buu shot off after Jason as he grew his leg high up into the sky and slamming it down on Jason, who laid on the mountain, splitting it in two.
"Jason!" Goku called as he powered up and charged towards Buu. He fired a full blast Kamehameha into Buu's back.
But Buu was barely damaged as he quickly regenerated and spun around, slapping Goku away back towards the ground. Gohan caught his father, and the two fired a joint Kamehameha, of which Buu easily deflected.
"You no fun!" Buu shouted. He had shouted so loud that everyone had to cover their ears.
"Me want a good fight!" Buu yelled.
"He wants to fight!?" Gohan gasped.
"This is a monster created to fight and destroy. It's not too surprising that he wants to fight." Shin replied as he flew up next to Gohan and Goku.
"Supreme Kai, you must get out of here!" Goku insisted.
"No. I cannot leave. This is my duty, and I will not abandon it." Shin declined as Vegeta joined them.
"Then let us not waste time," Vegeta stated as they fired at Buu, who didn't even attempt to dodge.
As Buu slowly made his way to them, Jason broke free from the split mountain severely injured. Upon seeing Buu approaching his friends, he fired a full-power Quasar Flare at Buu's back. Buu was sandwiched between the attacks, and it split the monster in two.
But it didn't faze Buu as the monster easily regenerated himself as if nothing happened. Buu proceeded to puff up his chest then let up a loud scream that not only deafened everyone but broke apart the nearby area. He then grew his arm and whipped the group below him.
Goku took the front of the attack, but it shattered his arms which he raised to defend them and knocked them far away. Jason grabbed onto Buu and flipped over to dive down, and sent Buu into the ground.
Buu didn't react when he hit the ground as his head dug into the ground, and his body stood up like a pole. His legs extended and assaulted Jason hitting him in his sides, chin, and back breaking several of his bones before planting him into the ground.
"S-S-Shit…" Jason coughed as he struggled to get up.
"You not strong enough me want real fight!" Buu shouted as he toward over Jason.
"Jason!" Krillin called, unintentionally catching Buu's attention.
"Uh, that thing's looking at us!" Trunks stammered.
"Is it going to attack us?" Goten asked.
"RUN NOW!" Jason demanded as Buu shot towards them but was caught but Piccolo's extended arm.
Piccolo broke free from the rubble that buried him and pulled against Buu with all his might but only managed to anger Buu. The Majin raised his foot high up, pulling Piccolo up, then fired a blast of Ki, destroying Piccolo from the neck under.
"PICCOLO!" Gohan screamed as he flew towards Buu and threw a left hook at Buu's head.
But Buu pulled his head inside his body and kicked Gohan in the stomach shattering several bones and putting him back into base form. Buu then spun around and kicked Gohan away, creating a cataclysmic thud as his body hit the ground miles away.
"Brother!" Goten cried as he went towards Buu only to be stopped by his father, who dropped from Super Saiyan 3.
"Don't Goten, you're not strong enough!" Goku shouted.
"You and Trunks need to get out of here and get to safety! If we fail here, you two may be our only hope!" Goku ordered.
"But…Gohan…" Goten stuttered as tears flowed from his eyes.
"It's not the end for him yet. Even if he dies, we have the Dragon Balls, so please go!" Goku demanded as Goten shook his head and flew off with Trunks.
"You should go to Krillin," Goku stated as Krillin shakingly flew next to him.
"And leave you alone with two broken arms? No way I'd do that." Krillin replied.
"I may be the weakest one here, but I can't back down when the world's in danger," Krillin added.
"I feel like the last few tournaments we've been to together get out of hand like this, doesn't it?" Krillin chuckled.
"Yeah, I guess your right." Goku smiled.
"Let's go!" Goku shouted as he charged in, and Krillin fired off a Kamehameha.
As Buu deflected Krillin's Kamehameha, Goku kicked at his head only for Buu to bend it straight down. But he was hit by Jason, who tore his body apart with a Dragon Fist at full speed. It didn't do much as Buu reformed completely fine.
Buu grabbed onto Goku and Jason and slammed them into one another before tossing them away. While they fell, Piccolo's body finished reforming itself. He watched as everyone fought against Buu to no avail and knew he wouldn't be of any help in his exhausted state.
While he could regenerate as long as his head was okay, it drained a lot of stamina, and he was nearly tapped out. So he decided to focus on one attack placing two fingers towards his head for a Mankankosappo.
As he did that, Vegeta fired a Final Flash at full blast that Buu took full force without much trouble. Buu charged at Vegeta and slammed his extended fist into Vegeta's gut, causing the Saiyan Prince to cough blood.
The Supreme Kai fired a blast in the back of Buu's head, causing an immediate reaction from Buu, who smacked the Supreme Kai aside. He then caught him and wrapped his extended arm around him to crush him.
"Shin!" Jason cried as he shot up and tore off Buu's arm with a Dragon Claw freeing the Supreme Kai.
But no sooner did Buu knock both him and the Supreme Kai down to the ground. Jason's entire body was searing in pain as he could barely move. Buu was completely in another league compared to him and the others.
Before Buu could attack the two again, his head was torn apart by Piccolo's Mankakosappo. It quickly regenerated, and Buu fired back at Piccolo, who flew off to dodge the attack as Goku and Vegeta attacked Buu from behind.
"Shit, what are we going to do?" Jason questioned as he slowly picked himself up and inspected an unconscious Supreme Kai.
Unfortunately for him, because of all the damage and wasted energy, Jason was forced to lower to Super Saiyan 2. Turning to face Buu, who was pushing back both Goku and Vegeta back, Jason grabbed onto the locket that held a picture of his family and charged in.
Jason hit Buu in the back of the head, only for Buu's head to whip back and hit him right back. The Saiyan proceeded to fire a Nova Crusher that barely affected Buu. Meanwhile, Goten and Trunks continued to fly off only until Trunks stopped.
"Trunks, what are you doing?" Goten questioned.
"I…I want to go back!" Trunks cried out.
"But my Dad said…." Goten began before interrupting.
"I know, but our Dads are in trouble! I can't just run away!" Trunks replied as he shot off back towards the others.
"Trunks, wait!" Goten called as he followed.
Back with the other's Vegeta was gasping for breath as he landed on his knees. Everyone was in a similar situation as they could barely stand. Krillin still hung back as he knew any hit from Buu would kill him.
"Krillin…" Goku coughed as he stood up with Piccolo's help.
"Take these Senzu's and give it to Jason and Vegeta. Then take the last one and find Gohan before it's too late." Goku requested as Krillin took the healing beans.
"You should go too, Piccolo," Goku added as Piccolo shook his head.
"Not a chance you need all the help you can get." Piccolo declined.
"But what about you, Goku? You need a Senzu?" Krillin asked.
"I'll be fine. I'm already dead. It's not like I can die again." Goku lied, knowing that if he was killed again, he would cease to be, which Piccolo gave him a look of understanding.
Krillin nodded as he flew over to give Jason and Vegeta their Senzu's before going over to help the Supreme Kai upon Jason's request. But as they flew off, Buu fired a blast at them, forcing Jason to act as he took Super Saiyan Primal once more, blocking the attack.
The resulting shockwave was so strong that it knocked Krillin aside, causing him to lose his grip on the Supreme Kai, who fell to a forest below. As he went to go retrieve him, having lost sight, he noticed Trunks and Goten returning, much to his surprise.
"What are you two doing back here? It's dangerous?!" Krillin questioned.
"I can't just leave my Dad to fight that thing alone!" Trunks declared.
"He's not alone, and we're all outclassed here." Krillin reminded.
"I don't care." Trunks replied as he held back tears.
"Fine, in that case, help me find the Supreme Kai and Gohan! That will be the best way for you two to help." Krillin requested as the two boys nodded in agreement.
"Alright then, guess it's just us then." Goku chuckled as he Vegeta, Piccolo, and Jason stood next to one another, staring down Buu.
"Stay back, Goku. You're in no condition to fight." Jason said as Piccolo let go.
"You can't even go back to that new form of yours," Piccolo agreed.
"Sorry, but I'm staying. I can't just…." Goku began before Vegeta hit him in the back of the head and knocked him out.
"What are you doing, Vegeta?" Jason questioned.
"It's like you said he's in no condition to fight, so you two take him and leave," Vegeta ordered.
"Are you planning on taking Buu on alone?!" Jason asked.
"Vegeta, what are you planning?" Piccolo inquired.
"It's my selfishness and desire to fight Kakarot all out that brought this about. Let me atone for it." Vegeta requested.
"Vegeta…" Jason murmured as Vegeta looked at him.
"This monster regenerates from every one of our attacks. So I'll put my life on the line to kill him if not then only weaken him." Vegeta stated.
"Vegeta. If you do this. There's a good chance you may not come back due to your past actions." Piccolo pointed out.
"I'm well aware," Vegeta replied.
"Arrow. Tell Trunks…tell him I'm proud of him." Vegeta requested as Jason nodded.
"Okay." Jason agreed.
"But before I go." Jason began as he clocked Vegeta in the face.
"That was for allowing Babidi to control you." Jason continued.
"Remember the day we first met and killed Cooler. The last words you said to me that day…." Jason went on.
"Never forget your Saiyan Pride,"
"Today, you forgot your pride. That was for recompense." Jason stated.
"I understand. Thank you." Vegeta thanked as Jason and Piccolo picked Goku up and flew off.
"Where they going? You too weak to fight alone!" Buu questioned.
"Your idiocy is even more infuriating than Kakarot's." Vegeta spat.
"You die now!" Buu shouted as he charged at him.
"Yes, I know," Vegeta murmured.
"And if it's the last thing I do, I'll be taking you with me!" Vegeta declared as he burst with energy pouring through all of his body.
Buu stopped his approach when he noticed something else about Vegeta's attack. Unlike before, he was releasing far more energy than should be possible for him, and that was for he was turning his only body into energy to consume.
"Farewell, everyone, Bulma, Trunks, Arrow…and even you Kakarot…my rival…my friend." Vegeta thought as a single tear shed from his eye and dissipated.
Vegeta then let out a deafening roar as his energy exploded one final time as Buu had no time to retreat as the energy consumed him. The shockwave knocked Jason and Piccolo out of the sky and behind a mountain with Goku.
Krillin, Trunks, and Goten clung to a tree with all their might so as to not be sent flying away. The explosion rocked the world once more, not as bad as when Buu began to awaken but enough for everyone to notice, even Bulma, who picked up the three-star Dragon Ball.
She turned to where she heard the explosion, and something sank in her heart as she felt something awful that happened. Eventually, she returned to the others, placing the three-star Dragon Ball with the five others they had, and flew off to find the final one.
When the light died down, Jason and Piccolo flew up with an unconscious Goku. Jason looked as the smoke began to clear, sending Piccolo to get the others and go to the Lookout. He flew over to the crater Vegeta created and landed to where a figure resembling Vegeta stood.
"Vegeta?" Jason asked until the smoke cleared completely, and it showed that Vegeta's body was turned to ash and now slowly collapsed.
"Goodbye and thank you," Jason whispered as he crouched down, seeing no sign of Buu. When he did, he sensed Trunks flying over with Piccolo, Krillin, and Goten following carrying Goku.
"Where's Dad?" Trunks questioned as he looked around.
"Trunks, stop. It's still not safe yet!" Piccolo demanded. He no longer held Goku as Jason could see that he gave him to Krillin.
"Mr. Jason, where is my Dad?" Trunks asked as he landed next to him, tearing up.
"I'm sorry, Trunks. But he is dead. He's not coming back." Jason apologized, placing a hand on Trunks's shoulder.
"He wanted you to know that he's proud of you," Jason consoled as Trunks began to cry.
"Sorry, Jason, but he wouldn't take no for an answer." Piccolo apologized.
"It's fine," Jason replied as he walked over and picked up some of Vegeta's ashes and placed them in a small pouch made of his torn shirt, and tied it up before handing it to Trunks.
"This is part of your Dad Trunks. Keep it and his memory alive with you." Jason said as Trunks nodded.
Just then, everyone sensed a surge of energy as several pink chunks broke free from the ground and converged together in several forms. Soon several small Buu's came about jumping into one another to form larger ones.
"No!" Jason cried as one of the large Buu's fired at them, which Jason blocked but was sent back.
The Buu followed up by firing at Piccolo, who blocked with his left arm that was blown off, then Buu fired upon Trunks. Before the attack hit, Trunks was moved out of the way by Yamcha, who had just arrived with Master Roshi.
"Yamcha! What are you doing here?" Piccolo questioned.
"I came to help, but it looks like I'm a little late," Yamcha responded as Roshi placed three pots on the ground.
"On the contrary, we came just in time. It's time to put an end to this monster." Roshi declared as Krillin hovered, holding Goku along with Goten above.
"Master Roshi, stop. It's too dangerous. We need to leave now!" Krillin warned.
"He's right. Buu's still weakened, but he's no pushover. Vegeta bought us time, so don't waste it!" Jason shouted as he landed in front of everyone.
Yamcha and Piccolo flew up to join Krillin and Goten as Goku began to wake up; however, Roshi stayed put. Jason turned to look at the Turtle Hermit, confused at why he was still there and at the three pots he had brought.
"Roshi, sir, please go. It's not safe." Jason pleaded.
"I know it's not safe, boy. I've been through plenty of dangerous situations. Even though I've been left behind by my students, this old geezer still has a few tricks up his sleeve." Roshi replied.
"This monster took the life of a father, something a child can never get back, and that will be the last life he takes today!" Roshi declared as Krillin looked at the pots Roshi brought.
"Wait! Those pots! Don't tell me…MASTER ROSHI, NO, IT'LL KILL YOU!" Krillin cried.
"Master Roshi?" Goku questioned.
"Move aside, boy. I'll take it from here." Roshi ordered as Jason was shocked.
"Another weakling!" Buu hissed as there were now three Buus.
"I may be weak, but I'm not defenseless!" Roshi declared as he rose his hands.
"JASON, STOP HIM! HE'LL DIE FROM THE STRAIN!" Krillin insisted, but before Jason could act, Buu attacked, forcing Jason to defend Roshi.
"No!" Krillin cried as he went to stop Roshi but was stopped by Piccolo.
"I know you want to stop him, Krillin. But this may be our only chance to beat Buu." Piccolo stated loud enough for everyone to hear.
"We can always revive him with the Dragon Balls later," Piccolo added.
"Can someone explain what's going on?" Jason questioned.
"There's no time now move!" Roshi insisted as Jason reluctantly jumped out of the way.
"Good. Now it's time!" Roshi shouted.
"Be sealed and never return!" Roshi demanded.
"MAFUBA!" Roshi yelled as a large green-like twister surrounded the three Buu's, stopping them from joining.
The twister deformed the Buus as they were shot into the air, and they were dragged towards Roshi and the three separate pots. But not even halfway did they stop and resist the power of the Mafuba as Roshi began to bleed from his nose from the struggle.
Roshi was forced to use his buff form to bring out more of his power to continue to drag the Buus closer and closer, but even that wasn't enough. So he tapped into another power, the power that kept him alive for so long to continue the technique.
"It seems there's no coming back from this." Roshi chuckled as one of the Buus fired at him, barely missing but scratching the pots.
"Krillin, Goku listen well!" Roshi called, getting both his student's attention.
"Never forget what I've taught you, boys! Work well, study well, play well, and sleep well! That is the Turtle Hermit way!" Roshi requested.
"Master Roshi!" Goku and Krillin cried as Roshi pulled his arms back and forced the Buus closer.
Eventually, using every last bit of strength and life in him, Roshi put all three of the Buus within the pots before sealing them up. After everything subsided, Roshi returned to normal before falling onto his back as Krillin and Goku approached him.
"Looks like I managed to pull one last one off even at my age!" Roshi exclaimed as Krillin held him up.
"It makes me happy to have one last victory under my belt, and I'm so happy to have such great students." Roshi smiled.
"See you two on the other side," Roshi said as his eyes closed as he passed away.
"No! Master Roshi!" Krillin cried.
"Master Roshi," Goku whispered as tears rolled down his cheeks.
"Damnit!" Jason shouted.
"Why did another have to die today!?" Jason questioned as he clenched his fist and expanded his senses to look for Gohan and the Supreme Kai but found nothing.
"You guys haven't by chance found Gohan or the Supreme Kai have you?" Jason asked.
"No. We haven't found them, nor can we sense their energy." Krillin answered.
"It may be safe to assume that they're gone too. Their bodies must have been moved by Vegeta's explosion too." Piccolo murmured as Goten teared up.
"No, Gohan can't be gone!" Goten denied.
"It's fine if we use the Dragon Balls. We'll bring him back." Goku assured as Piccolo inspected the pots.
As Goku refused the last Senzu bean in order to save it and have Dende heal him, Piccolo noticed something troubling. There were cracks in each of the pots, indicating that one of the Buus had damaged them when Roshi threw them in.
"We have a problem," Piccolo stated, gaining everyone's attention.
"The pots are damaged, meaning Buu will eventually be able to escape," Piccolo explained.
"He will!?" Krillin gasped.
"How long do we have?" Jason asked.
"If I had to guess." Piccolo began as he picked up one of the pots.
"Three days." Piccolo finished.
"Three days. So we have three days to prepare for our next fight." Jason sighed.
"It's not entirely that bad. After all, there are three Buus, and they aren't as strong separately." Goku pointed out.
"True when one of their attacks hit, it wasn't as strong as the full Buu." Jason agreed.
"Which means that Vegeta and Roshi both gave their lives to give us a chance at victory, and we cannot waste it," Piccolo stated.
"Let's head back to the Lookout and create a plan of attack," Jason replied as he took Goku from Krillin, and everyone took off.
Nearby…
As the others flew off to the Lookout in the forest that they left behind, the Supreme Kai slowly walked through. He barely clung to life as his energy was near zero, but one thing kept him going. That was the sacred sword on his planet, the sword no one could pull out.
It was said that whoever should draw the sword would obtain great power, and if they were lucky enough, it would be enough power to kill Buu. Initially, he had wanted to ask Jason to wield the sword, but after seeing the others fly off, he was forced to look for Gohan.
He didn't blame them for leaving. After all, with the power of Buu's attack, it would be safe to assume they were dead. Plus, with the power of Earth's Dragon Balls, they would assume that they could bring them back to life.
"But Gohan isn't dead. I can't faintly feel it. His energy." Shin thought before he collapsed from exhaustion.
Tragedy has struck as the malicious Majin Buu has now awoken! Vegeta and Roshi had given their lives to give the others time to defeat Buu! With three days to go until the three Buus break free, will our heroes be able to win?
And will the Supreme Kai be able to find Gohan and enact his plan to give him the sacred sword? This and more Next Time!

Wow got this done faster than I expected, but I was on a roll with this after finally getting the next part of the What-If series. Which yes, I finally updated that! I was inspired to finish up the next chapter for that because I had given someone else inspiration to try the same.
If you don't know One's Own Path by Raos, I definitely recommend it if you like my fic, and no, I'm not just saying that because he recommended me in his. The fic is really great and definitely has a better start than my own, if I'm honest. His fic is very inspired and really great and well-paced, so definitely check it out.
Anyways back on topic, I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter and my little take on Vegeta's sacrifice. While I didn't have him and Trunks have a final goodbye, I tried something else with it.
One thing that kinda bugged me in the original one is that it felt that Vegeta's sacrifice was for nothing as it didn't weaken Buu nor slow him down. That's why I wanted to change that here so that his sacrifice meant something more. That and, of course, Roshi's.
Which yeah, I just killed Roshi deal with it. But joking aside, I felt it was a good way to deal with Buu that he could have contributed and even the playing field. For even though there are now three Buus, they are as strong as the fully formed Buu.
That will be very evident since everyone won't just get completely destroyed like they did here as Buu easily overpowered each and every one of them. I also hope you enjoyed Goku and Vegeta's fight, which I'll admit I had wanted to make it longer but couldn't.
Hopefully, I made it as good as the original, especially Goku turning Super Saiyan 3 against Vegeta. It's something I think many would have wanted to see, and that was my interpretation of what would happen.
Also, yeah, no fat/good Buu in this story because here, the Grand Supreme Kai was not absorbed by Buu but just killed. So Buu's just going to be pure evil off the bat, making things much more interesting.
And one small thing I changed was Elias's son's name as I felt the name August with the last name Autumn didn't work too well so I changed it to Adriel which honestly I think sounds better anyway.

Luffy L Deathwalker – No, I have no plans or intention of bringing Evan back to life to be with Yang or meet his son. I know that may be a bit sad, but I want death in this fic to mean something and not be so easily undone.
That's why he and others who have died until this point have stayed dead save when the brother gods wiped out Remnant. If they had just come back, it wouldn't mean as much, though who knows, I may change my mind in the future, but I doubt it.
And yeah, shit really did get worse this chapter as Buu decimated everyone. Not only did Vegeta still die, but Roshi did too.
