Chapter 53: Fusion?
Last Time our heroes were dismayed as the evil Majin Buu was revived. The monster was far stronger than they had expected and completely tore apart the Z-Fighters!
But thanks to the sacrifices of Vegeta and Roshi, Buu was split into three and sealed away. However, the seal was broken, and in three days, Buu will return! Will our heroes be able to win? Find out Now!
Kami's Lookout…
Soon after everyone arrived, Dende healed Goku, who remained seated looking exhausted from the fight even after being healed. Jason calmed down Trunks and Goten, who had long stopped crying and now transitioned into anger against Buu.
Piccolo set the three pots next to one another as everyone began to brainstorm what they would do next. The main thing everyone agreed on was that it was best to place the pots far from one another to prevent Buu from fully reforming.
"If we do place them separate from one another, we need to make sure it's in unpopulated places on the planet," Piccolo stated.
"True, but that leaves the question of who's going to fight which Buu?" Jason pointed out.
"We don't have nearly enough fighters to take them on, especially since Goku has to leave by the end of the day," Jason added.
"By the way, what was that form you were using Goku?" Jason asked.
"That was my newest transformation. I was inspired when you got your Super Saiyan Primal Form. I call it Super Saiyan 3." Goku answered.
"Super Saiyan 3, huh? Well, I guess that could make my Super Saiyan Primal form Super Saiyan 4. Yeah, that feels right." Jason replied.
"Either way, you made a good point, Jason. Will you be able to convince your Tuffle friend to help us?" Piccolo inquired.
"I don't know. Elias has been pretty busy nowadays, and he hasn't been able to get too much training in." Jason began.
"But I'll try and ask him nonetheless." Jason finished.
"What about Android 18 and her brother? Can't they help?" Goku asked.
"What?! No way!" Krillin declined, not wanting his wife to face the monster.
"But Krillin, they're incredibly strong," Goku replied.
"I know, but…I don't want to see 18 get hurt. And after seeing Buu's strength and what happened to Vegeta and Master Roshi…it scares me." Krillin explained.
"We don't even know where Android 17 is," Krillin added.
"Well, then we can just use fusion," Goku stated, confusing everyone present.
"Fusion? Care to elaborate?" Jason inquired.
"It's a technique I learned a few years back in Other World. A species called the Metamorans created it to become stronger." Goku began.
"You see two fighters of equal strength and similar height do a dance, and this causes them to fuse into a new being that not only has their combined strength but also increases it." Goku continued.
"If you use it, then you just might be able to create a fighter capable of beating Buu. Though it does only last thirty minutes." Goku finished.
"You said someone of similar height and power? Well, that complicates things." Jason sighed, seeing that the remaining fighters didn't fit the bill.
"True, while neither you nor Piccolo has anyone to fuse with, Goten and Trunks are primary candidates for it," Goku revealed.
"Huh?" Goten gasped.
"We are?" Trunks asked as he attached the bag with his father's ashes on his belt.
"Yep!" Goku smirked as he slowly stood up.
"If the two of you train hard enough and master fusion, you'll be able to fight against one of the Buus!" Goku exclaimed.
"You think they'll be able to master it in three days?" Jason questioned.
"Well, no, but that's what the Hyperbolic Time Chamber is for!" Goku answered.
"The what?" Jason inquired.
"The Hyperbolic Time Chamber is a special room here on the Lookout. To put it simply, one year in the Time Chamber is equivalent to one day out here." Dende explained.
"Wha…why is this the first I'm hearing of it?" Jason asked.
"You never asked." Piccolo pointed out as Jason deadpanned.
"Okay. Okay. So using this Time Chamber, Goten and Trunks can train and master the Fusion technique and be able to fight against Buu." Jason sighed.
"There's also the fact that neither of them has even reached Super Saiyan yet too." Jason pointed out.
"Well, we'll just have to see the results of their training! Plus, they're Half Saiyans meaning their potential is greater than ours. Same goes for their fusion." Goku replied.
"That being said, we should begin preparing for damage control and find the Dragon Balls," Piccolo suggested.
"Good point. I'll get the Dragon Radar from Bulma." Goku agreed as the sky turned pitch black.
"What the? What is this?" Jason asked, having never witnessed what happens when the Dragon Balls were used.
"Someone's using the Dragon Balls!" Piccolo shouted.
"But who?" Jason wondered.
"It has to be Bulma. She's the only one who can find them so fast!" Goku assumed as Dende gave the confirmation by checking on them.
"Damn, if they use the wish now, we'll have to wait a year to bring everyone back!" Goku gasped.
"It's fine. Just ask Shenron to hold off on the second wish, and the Dragon Balls will be able to be used in six months!" Dende explained as Goku used Instant Transmission to leave.
He soon returned with everyone else in tow, who were very confused at Goku's sudden arrival and dismissing of Shenron after they used the first wish. That is until Bulma noticed Trunks but no Vegeta.
"Goku, where's Vegeta?" Bulma asked.
"And where's Gohan?" Chi-Chi chimed in as she noticed the absence of her son.
"Sorry. But they're both dead." Jason reported.
"NO, THAT CAN'T BE TRUE!" Chi-Chi denied as Bulma began to cry.
"Wait, but we just used the Dragon Balls to bring everyone good who died today back to life. They must have come back!" Bulma stated having wanted to undo the toll of the disasters.
"Sorry, but no. Vegeta was already brought back once before by the Earth Dragon Balls. He can't be brought back again. As for Gohan, sadly, I still don't sense him." Piccolo replied.
"It could be there was something that prevented him from coming back. It could be that those killed by Buu can't be revived." Jason theorized.
"Without the Supreme Kai here with us, we can't say." Piccolo sighed as Jason clenched his fist at his inability to save the Supreme Kai's life.
Elsewhere…
Kibito woke up in shock as he picked himself off the ground. He was in a state of confusion as he inspected his body top to bottom. The attendant of the Supreme Kai had most certainly died, but now he had somehow returned.
But what was more important for him was to find the Supreme Kai and ensure his safety. That is when he noticed that Supreme Kai's energy dwindling and verging on disappearing. Kibito shot off towards the energy he sensed and soon found the Supreme Kai.
The Supreme Kai was unconscious on the ground, having become too exhausted to search for Gohan any further. Kibito landed next to the Supreme Kai and turned him onto his back before placing his hand on his stomach to heal him.
"K-Kibito?!" Shin gasped as he sat up.
"My Lord, are you alright?" Kibito inquired.
"Yes. But Majin Buu has awakened Kibito. I don't know what is happening currently." Shin answered.
"That's right!" Shin gasped as he remembered what he was doing.
"We need to find Gohan! He is near death, and if things go right, he can help us greatly." Shin stated as he got up, and the two went to Gohan's dwindling energy.
Eventually, the two find the dying Half Saiyan, whose energy was near zero. Thanks to the Kai's greater ability to sense energy than mortals, they were able to find him. Kibito quickly placed his hand on Gohan and healed the fighter.
"Uh…wha…Supreme Kai? Kibito?" Gohan questioned.
"Relax, Gohan, there isn't much time to explain," Shin stated.
"Please come with us, and all will be made clear." Shin requested.
"But what about Buu?" Gohan questioned.
"At the moment, he isn't around. Please come with us. I believe I can give you something that will aid you in beating Buu." Shin instead as Gohan got up.
"Alright, I'll trust you." Gohan agreed.
"Thank you. Kibito, please take us home." Shin requested much to Kibito's surprise.
"But he is mortal. Only fellow Kai are allowed on our world!" Kibito argued.
"Kibito, this is urgent. We must go and help Gohan obtain the Z Sword." Shin replied.
"THE Z SWORD!" Kibito gasped.
"Yes, so let us not waste any time," Shin said as Kibito nodded and placed his left hand on Shin's shoulder and his right on Gohan.
"Kai Kai." Kibito declared as the three disappeared.
They reappeared on another planet entirely with luscious green lands and purple sky. Additionally, there were several moons in the sky and many rivers through the land. Gohan looked around, astonished.
Even though this was the third planet he's been to outside of Earth, it never ceases to amaze the Half-Saiyan. Kibito let go of the two before returning to the Supreme Kai's side. The Supreme Kai motioned for Gohan to follow, and the three shot off.
"Okay, can you explain what's going on? Why are we here, and what happened to the others?" Gohan asked.
"The others are fine. When I searched for the Supreme Kai, I sensed their energy, and none were in battle. Additionally, I was unable to sense Buu." Kibito responded.
"However, Buu is not dead. With our divine sense, we can tell that his soul is still in the living world." Shin added.
"When he revived, he came back far stronger than I expected. As the years passed of him in the seal, he must have grown in power." Shin continued.
"I knew he could passively gain power but not to this degree. That is why he was far stronger than everyone. But we are going to give you something to even the odds." Shin finished.
"Is it that Z Sword you were talking about?" Gohan inquired.
"Yes, the Z Sword is a legendary weapon said to be able to cut through everything and anything. Whoever can wield it will gain immense power." Shin explained.
"If it's so good, why didn't you bring it to Earth or give it to Jason?" Gohan asked.
"Because no one has been able to take the Z Sword out of its seal. It has been stuck in a stone pillar for eons with no Supreme Kai able to take it out." Kibito revealed.
"But I believe one of you Saiyans will be able to take it out," Shin stated.
"If I had known of Buu's increased strength beforehand, I would have brought Jason Shin to this planet, but sadly I cannot change the past." Shin sighed.
"So I must make sure the ensure a safe future, and that means giving you the Z Sword," Shin added.
"I see," Gohan murmured.
"Well then, let's give it a shot!" Gohan exclaimed as they approached a large rock pillar.
"It's down here," Shin announced as the three landed on top of the pillar.
Before the three was the Z Sword, the Supreme Kai had talked about. Half of the blade was stuck into the rock pillar, and beyond that, it looked like a normal sword. Gohan circled the sword but saw nothing that seemed out of the ordinary.
"Should I pull it out now?" Gohan asked.
"Yes, please do," Shin answered.
"But remember this sword has been attempted to be pulled out by several Supreme Kai this will be no easy task, especially for a mortal." Kibito reminded.
"That's fine," Gohan replied with a smile as he grabbed onto the sword's hilt.
Gohan pulled with all of his might, but the sword didn't budge an inch. After a few minutes, he let go and rested his hands. After catching his breath, Gohan took it up a notch as he turned Super Saiyan.
Though even with that, he was unable to move the sword. Gripping onto the guard, Gohan transformed into Super Saiyan 2 and released his full power. Pulling with all of his might, the sword finally came out some much to the shock of the two Kai.
Eventually, Gohan managed to take more and more out as the pillar of rock began to break apart below them. But after several minutes of brute force, Gohan tore the sword from the ground, raising it into the air as the pillar shattered.
The three jumped down to the ground as Gohan struggled to keep hold of the Z Sword. He hadn't expected the sword to be so heavy as it was going to be hard to hold onto it without Super Saiyan 2.
"I can't believe it. He actually pulled the sword out!" Kibito gasped.
"This will change everything!" Shin exclaimed.
Kami's Lookout…
"ABSOLUTELY NOT!" Chi-Chi and Bulma declined as Goku backed off.
"But if they master fusion, they can be a big help!" Goku replied as he raised his hands up in defense.
"I just lost one son today. I will not lose another!" Chi-Chi shouted.
"And I absolutely won't allow Trunks to do it either!" Bulma agreed.
"But we need all the help we can get so that Buu doesn't fully recover." Jason pointed out.
"Would you let Scarlet fight Buu?" Chi-Chi questioned as she poked Jason in the chest.
"Well…no, she only just began learning how to use Ki. Plus, Neo would kill me." Jason responded as he imagined what his wife would do to him if he did allow her to fight.
It reminded Jason of when Damian allowed Scarlet to hold onto his sword. His old teammate nearly pissed himself when Neo grabbed onto her Hush and glared at him. Both Chi-Chi and Bulma were as protective as Neo. Though Chi-Chi even more so.
"Exactly, so Goten will not be fighting this Buu!" Chi-Chi stated.
"But I want to fight!" Goten declared.
"So do I!" Trunks agreed as the two Half-Saiyans stood determined to avenge their fallen family members.
"But you'll get hurt and might even die!" Chi-Chi warned.
"I don't care. I want to take out that Buu!" Goten shouted.
"Yeah, I want to get him for what happened to Dad!" Trunks yelled.
"I can't tell if that's their Saiyan stubbornness or if they got that from their mother's." Piccolo sighed.
"Well, very well. It's not like we can stop you if you just leave." Bulma murmured.
"Then I'll begin teaching you two fusion so that you'll be able to fight against Buu," Goku smirked.
"I'll go back to Remnant and speak with Elias. It would be best to get as many strong fighters as well." Jason stated.
"Good idea. Make sure to get back soon, though." Piccolo insisted.
"Sure thing." Jason nodded as he placed two fingers before his forehead.
"Though I should tell Neo that I'm okay first, so she doesn't worry." Jason thought as he used Instant Transmission to return to Remnant.
"While he's there, can you also help us 18?" Piccolo inquired.
"You want me to fight?" 18 questioned as she held her sleeping daughter.
"If you don't mind. We short-handed at the moment." Piccolo answered.
"Personally, I don't want 18 to fight, but I can't stop her if she wants to do it," Krillin sighed as 18 handed their child to him.
"I'll fight. If I don't, it seems Earth is doomed anyway." 18 stated.
"Thank you. Now, if only we can find Tien." Piccolo murmured as Goku approached him.
"Piccolo, I'm going to need your help with teaching the kids the Fusion Dance." Goku requested.
"Uh…okay," Piccolo replied.
Remnant…
Jason appeared just outside his home with the moon high in the sky. He came as he needed a change of clothes and to update Neo on the current situation. The second he stepped through his front door Jason was rushed by his daughter, who clung to him like her life depended on it.
"Daddy!" Scarlet cried as she clung to him, and his wife approached them.
"You're back! Are you alright?" Neo asked as she inspected Jason.
"I'm fine. But I'm afraid I can't stay for that long." Jason answered.
"But the monster is gone, right?" Scarlet questioned, looking scared.
"Not yet. The monster is still around. But Daddy is going to get some help to put an end to the monster." Jason assured as he patted Scarlet's head.
"What happened?" Neo inquired as Jason explained the situation to his wife after he got Scarlet to go to bed.
"Are you sure you can win this? What if those three merge back into one?" Neo asked as she and Jason sat on their couch.
"I'm going to have to. If I don't, then Buu will go on a massacre. Eventually, he'll come here, and I will not let you or the kids die." Jason answered.
Jason kissed Neo on the forehead before putting on some new clothes. Once he did, he flew over to Vale, which was quiet in the night. But thankfully for him, the person Jason was looking for was very much awake.
Elias stood on the roof waiting as if he was already expecting Jason to come over. This was convenient as it saved Jason from having to wake him up and possibly the orphans inside, which he wanted to avoid.
"Were you expecting me?" Jason asked as he landed next to his friend.
"Yes. I assumed you would come here ever since Buu woke up." Elias answered.
"You sensed him?" Jason inquired.
"I think the entire universe felt his awakening. Are you sure you can take him out?" Elias questioned.
"Not alone," Jason answered.
"Which is why you came here." Elias determined.
"Yeah. This is going to be a long story." Jason stated as he got Elias up to speed.
"So there are three Buu's now?" Elias questioned.
"Yes, but each only has a fraction of the original's power. I may be able to take one alone, but the other two need opponents." Jason responded.
"Goku is teaching Goten and Trunks something called the Fusion Dance to create a strong fighter to join us, but since Goku can't stay…." Jason continued until Elias interrupted.
"There aren't enough fighters to make up the difference in power." Elias realized.
"Yeah. Which, as you can tell, is a big problem." Jason replied.
"So, are you up for another adventure?" Jason asked.
"Do I even have a choice?" Elias sighed.
"Well yeah, but…one of the choices may not end too well," Jason replied.
"Then I'm in. I'm going to need some help finding someone to help Amber here, though. I can't just leave her alone with all the kids." Elias stated.
"I'm sure Damian and Alex will be free. I'll also talk to Neo to see if Scarlet can come over and help too. The whole situation with Buu has her spooked. So it'll be good to get her mind off it." Jason said.
"Okay. Meet me here in the morning." Elias requested as Jason nodded and left.
Kami's Lookout…
"Alright, boys, watch closely," Goku instructed as Goten and Trunks nodded.
"First, you'll both need to stand next to one another with a small amount of space in between. Just as Piccolo and I are." Goku began as he and Piccolo stood next to one another.
"Then you'll mirror each other from here out. So Piccolo, do your best to keep up." Goku stated as Piccolo nodded.
"Now, the first move of the is to move your arms up as so." Goku continued as he raised his arms up to his right as Piccolo did his left.
"Then you'll slowly move towards one another while swinging your arms to the center here. This is Fu-" Goku went on as Piccolo mirrored his actions.
"Next, you'll throw your arms back here again while raising your right or left leg, respectively. This is sion-" Goku explained as he and Piccolo continued to demonstrate.
"Finally, you will lean over, and with your two index fingers, connect them together for Ha!" Goku finished as he and Piccolo finished the demonstration to Piccolo's embarrassment.
"Wow. Cool." The two boys commented.
"Alright, now you two try it." Goku insisted as Goten and Trunks looked at one another before moving apart.
The two sloppily did what Goku and Piccolo demonstrated with several errors. Once they were done, Goku and Piccolo demonstrated it to them again as Goten and Trunks reattempted. They did it better this time but were still sloppy.
"Well, it's going to take lots of practice, but for now, we should practice synching your energies," Goku stated.
"So both of you power up to your max, please." Goku requested. Goten and Trunks nodded and powered to their max as their energies were very high for their age.
"Not bad, but it seems Trunks is a little stronger, so Trunks, power down a little to match Goten," Goku instructed as Trunks did as he was told.
When they matched one another, they stayed at that energy level until they had it memorized so as to do it again. Once done they did so, they began to practice the Fusion Dance once more, getting better each time.
"Alright, good. You'll have to practice every day, especially once you go into the time chamber to train until you master it. Even being a little off will result in a failed fusion." Goku stated.
"Am I interrupting something?" Baba questioned, shocking the four by her sudden presence.
"Lady Baba, what are you doing here?" Goku asked.
"Well, Goku, I'm here to tell you that you have one hour until you have to return to Other World," Baba stated.
"What?! But it hasn't been a full day yet!" Goku argued.
"Sorry, but when you used that Super Saiyan 3 form of yours, the energy it consumed also resulted in your time here being reduced," Baba explained.
"I just came to give you a heads up before I take you back," Baba added as she left.
"Well, that certainly complicates things." Piccolo sighed.
"Guess we don't have much time left. Let's get back to practicing." Goku insisted.
"You must be prepared to fight Buu!" Goku exclaimed.
Supreme Kai Planet…
Gohan took slow steps as he held onto the Z Sword. With the legendary weapon's heavy nature, it was hard to move even an inch without a struggle. That wasn't the only problem Gohan faced as he couldn't even swing the sword.
If he couldn't move nor use the sword, then it was pretty much useless to him. But that just means he would need to work it out. With enough training, he may just be able to wield it properly and gain some strength too.
"Is the sword really that heavy?" Kibito wondered as he and the Supreme Kai watched Gohan as he slowly practiced with the sword.
The Half-Saiyan was still in Super Saiyan 2 as, without it, he would be unable to lift the sword. Eventually, though, he will be able to wield it easily in the form. Once that happens, Gohan will lower into his base form and train with that.
When he masters using the sword, he will be much stronger than he was before, and maybe that with the sword will be able to kill Majin Buu. With this thought in mind and remembering the vast power of Majin, Buu Gohan pushed forward in his training.
"It will take him some time to master using that sword." Kibito pointed out.
"Yes, but when he does, no doubt he'll be significantly stronger. Though it probably would be best that he doesn't train in such worn-out clothes." Shin replied.
Gohan was still wearing the remnants of his Great Saiyaman suit, which had been torn to shreds from his fight with Dabura and Buu. Nodding, Kibito approached Gohan and used his magic to give him clothes similar to theirs.
After saying thanks, Gohan returned to his training, finally able to swing the sword every two minutes. Though he had never used a sword before, Gohan did his best as he remembered the movements Future Trunks did when he used his own sword.
He didn't know how long the others could hold out against Buu, but Gohan was determined to get stronger and return to help. At the moment, no one was able to match Buu's power, so he had to train.
"Dad entrusted Earth to me. Over the past seven years, I've definitely gotten stronger, but I've never pushed myself to gain new heights." Gohan thought.
"With Jason able to come and help, I may have gotten too used to it just like I used to when Dad was around. But no longer!" Gohan thought.
"I must push myself further and push past my limits. I cannot solely rely on others if I can't rely on myself! So I will grow stronger to protect everyone!" Gohan determined.
As beads of sweat dripped down his face, Gohan continued training. He got more proficient at moving the sword and maneuvering with the sword. Gohan could feel his strength increasing with each passing minute, and he wasn't going to stop there.
Kami's Lookout…
"Fu. Sion. Ha!" The Two Half Saiyans chanted as they practiced the dance.
"You were a few degrees off from perfect try again," Goku instructed.
"Fu. Sion. Ha!" The Two Half Saiyans chanted once more.
"This time, your hands were off place. Try it once more," Goku stated as the two continued practicing.
"Goku, are you sure they will get it down in time. Being so exact even with a year of training will be hard?" Piccolo inquired.
"They'll get it, Piccolo, don't worry," Goku assured as he looked at the sun's position.
"It's nearly time." Goku sighed as his time to return to Other World.
"Do you really have to go?" Goten inquired, sad that his father had to leave.
"Yeah, I don't belong here anymore. I'm still dead after all." Goku responded as he pointed towards the halo over his head.
"But even when I leave, I need you two to train your hardest and aim to be the strongest you can be to fight Buu. So aim to become Super Saiyans." Goku smirked.
"Hey Dad, what about that really strong form you used before the one you called Super Saiyan 3?" Goten asked.
"That's pretty advanced. I'm afraid you two won't get it down even with fusion." Goku answered.
"Can we see?" Trunks inquired as Goku rubbed his chin.
"Well, I don't have much time left anyway, so why not," Goku smirked as he stood before the two.
"Watch very closely, you two." Goku requested as he took a stance.
"Goku, are you sure about this?" Piccolo asked.
"It's fine. I don't have much time left anyway. I'll only use it for a few seconds." Goku responded.
"Now then, Super Saiyan 3 is the act of bringing out the raw power that is deep inside every Saiyan. How I did it is looking deep within myself and…." Goku began as he powered up.
"Grab hold of it!" Goku shouted as his hair grew longer, and he transformed into Super Saiyan 3.
"With that, you can achieve Super Saiyan 3. Though you'd need to have the previous two forms before this." Goku smirked as he slowly returned to base form.
"Wow!" Trunks gasped.
"Amazing!" Goten smiled as Baba appeared behind Goku.
"Good going, Goku. You just used up the last of your time. It's time to go." Baba stated.
"Yeah, I figured." Goku laughed as he rubbed the back of his head.
"I'll let you say your goodbyes before we go," Baba stated as Goku joined the others.
Chi-Chi cried and embraced her husband while Goten did the same, having bonded with his father. They all knew that this was most likely the last time they would all see one another until they each died.
Just then, Jason returned with Elias in tow, just in time for them to say goodbye to the Saiyan raised on Earth. Everyone said their goodbyes as Baba flew up behind Goku, ready to take him back to Other World.
"It's time to go, Goku," Baba informed as Goku nodded.
"Well, goodbye everyone. I'll see you again one day. Just make sure it's not because of Buu." Goku waved as he and Baba flew up and disappeared into the bright blue sky.
"He entrusted the planet to us. We can't let that trust down. So let's get back to training." Piccolo stated as he led Goten and Trunks back.
"Sad thing to return on," Jason murmured.
"Tell me about it. So what now?" Elias inquired.
"Train and prepare for when the Buu's break out," Jason answered as the two went to train with one another.
Meanwhile, the two young Half-Saiyans continued their training for fusion, having been inspired by Goku. They practiced thoroughly to get the Fusion Dance down and prepare for a year in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Piccolo continued their instruction as Krillin and Yamcha searched for Tien to enlist his aid. Jason and Elias were training in the increased gravity chamber of the spaceship Bulma had gifted him. Everyone was preparing for Buu's return in three days.
Other World Check-In Station…
Goku ran through the line of waiting souls to Other World to get to the check-in station, completely ignoring the fact that he was cutting in line. Right now, his priority was to find Gohan and Master Roshi in Other World.
"King Yemma!" Goku called as he entered the station.
"Goku, what did I tell you about cutting the line!" King Yemma shouted as Goku stepped in front of him.
"Oh well, whatever, you can go back to Grand Kai's planet." King Yemma sighed.
"Actually, I would like to ask what happened to Master Roshi and my son Gohan." Goku requested.
"Well, your master is doing fine. In fact, he's visiting some of the many beaches with your grandfather at the moment, hitting on the ladies." King Yemma answered.
"Well, that sounds about right." Goku chuckled.
"As for your son, he hasn't appeared before me. It seems he is still alive." King Yemma revealed shocking Goku.
"Gohan's alive! Where is he?" Goku asked.
"It seems that the Supreme Kai has taken him somewhere beyond my knowledge." King Yemma stated as Goku expanded his senses.
"I found him!" Goku exclaimed as he teleported to Gohan via Instant Transmission.
"Oh yeah, just leave. That's cool." King Yemma muttered as he called up the next person in line and ordered them to strip.
Supreme Kai's Planet…
In the few hours Gohan had to train with the Z Sword, he had managed to get used to it fast. He was now using it while in Super Saiyan so as to adjust to its weight at a lower form. Currently, he was mid-swing before having to stop short when his father appeared in front of him.
"DAD!" Gohan gasped as he pulled back.
"Gohan, you're alright!" Goku exclaimed.
"Yeah, but how are you here?" Gohan questioned.
"Well, it seems this place is in Other World, so I can freely come here," Goku stated.
"But I thought you had a whole day back on Earth," Gohan replied.
"I did, but because of my new transformation, I used up most of my time," Goku explained as Kibito and the Supreme Kai approached them.
"That explains why you are back in Other World. I can only assume you got to our planet via the Instant Transmission technique." Shin sighed.
"You're alive too, Supreme Kai!" Goku gasped until he saw Kibito.
"Oh, that's it! Kibito was revived with the Dragon Balls and healed you two!" Goku determined.
"I see. I did not know the people of Earth had a set of Dragon Balls. I've been so preoccupied with planning for Majin Buu's return I've neglected to watch the mortals too much." Shin replied.
"It's good you're all alive. Everyone was sad thinking you guys didn't make it," Goku smirked.
"Yes, since you are here, can you fill us in on what is going on." Shin requested as Goku explained the current situation.
"I see this complicates things," Shin murmured as Goku finished explaining.
"So there are three Buu's now?" Gohan asked as the four sat down.
"Yeah, but each aren't as strong as the original. Which is why we need all the strength we can get, which is why I began instruction Goten and Trunks fusion." Goku responded.
"You mean the Metamoran Fusion technique, correct?" Kibito inquired.
"Yes. Hopefully, the resulting fusion after a year of training will be strong enough to fight against a Buu alongside some help." Goku answered.
"I see that could work. Once we finish Gohan's training with the Z Sword here, he can join them in their fight." Shin stated.
"That's great! We should tell everyone right now!" Goku exclaimed.
"Sadly, we cannot," Shin replied, confusing Goku and Gohan.
"Why not?" Gohan inquired.
"When Buu was revived, his energy rang throughout the universe, causing the natural energy of the universe to go out of wack." Shin began.
"Until it settles down, telepathic communication will be impossible." Shin finished.
"Well, that's not good." Gohan sighed.
"That just means you're going to have to train extra hard, Gohan, and get back as soon as possible!" Goku exclaimed.
"Three days may not be enough to fully master the Z Sword, though!" Kibito argued.
"Don't underestimate us, Saiyans! I'm sure Gohan can get it down in less time than that!" Goku smirked.
"While I would normally say you're overestimating me, Dad, I am getting a good handle on its weight. So let's do this!" Gohan replied as he got up to continue training.
"Mortals have grown very odd, haven't they?" Kibito asked as he and Shin watched Gohan train with the assistance of Goku.
"Yes, yes they have. But it just may save us all." Shin responded.
Kami's Lookout…
"Again!" Piccolo demanded as Goten and Trunks reattempted the fusion dance.
"Trunks, you extended your fingers too soon. Try again!" Piccolo shouted as the two began once more.
"Better, but your posture is still off. Try again!" Piccolo yelled as the two continued to reattempt the dance.
"Don't you think you're pushing them too hard?" Elias inquired as he and Jason watched Piccolo instruct the two.
"We can't take any training lightly. If they want to master fusion and fight Buu, they need to be pushed hard." Piccolo stated.
"Well, considering the circumstances, I guess I understand," Elias murmured as the boys finished their latest attempt.
"Perfect, now we're going to try it for real!" Piccolo announced.
"I just realized something. What the hell are we going to call the fusion? I mean, they're going to need a name, right?" Jason wondered.
"We'll worry about that later," Piccolo replied as they went to a large open space in case the energy of the fusion was too much.
"Alright, we'll do it here, so get your energies synchronized," Piccolo ordered as Goten and Trunks did as they were told as everyone watched.
"I wonder what it's going to be like when they fuse?" Bulma wondered.
"Yeah, and what they'll look like." Chi-Chi agreed as the two Half-Saiyans got into position.
"Good, now begin!" Piccolo ordered.
"Fu…" The Boys began as they inched closer to one another.
"…sion…" They continued as they moved their hands outward.
…HA!" They finished as they joined up their hands but with their fingers slightly off.
It resulted in a large explosion of energy that threatened to push everyone off the Lookout, but eventually, it subsided. As the dust subsided, Goten and Trunks were gone, and in their place was a fat child in a dark blue vest and white pants.
"Uhhh…is…is that supposed to happen?" Jason questioned as everyone looked dumbfounded at the fusion warrior.
"I…maybe…" Piccolo replied as everyone approached the boy.
"How do you feel?" Piccolo questioned.
"Uh, good, I think." The Boy answered.
"Wow, it's like a stereo with two different voices," Elias murmured.
"Do you have a name?" Jason asked.
"I'm Gotenks." Gotenks answered.
"Gotenks it is then? Can you try running a lap around the Lookout?" Piccolo requested as Gotenks nodded.
The fat fusion began to run and immediately got out of breath as only a few feet in did he stop and gasp for air. He attempted again but fell flat on his face before getting up and returning defeated.
"Okay, I think it's safe to say the fusion didn't work." Piccolo sighed.
"Looking back at it, I think their fingers weren't aligned," Elias stated.
"I see. Well, split apart, and we'll try again." Piccolo ordered.
"Uh, how do I do that?" Gotenks asked.
"Goku never said how to turn them back early, did he?" Jason inquired.
"No, he didn't. We'll just have to wait thirty minutes." Piccolo responded.
When thirty minutes passed, they two separated and tried again. This time though, they were off-angled, and the fusion ended up as a severely skinny boy who looked like he was going to drop at any moment. Once they returned again, they had a short break to regain their energy before trying again.
"Fu…" The Boys began.
"…sion…" They continued.
"…HA!" They finished this time doing the dance perfectly. When the smoke cleared in their place was a perfectly fused Gotenks.
"Amazing!" Jason gasped.
"They really did it!" Elias gawked.
"Wow, look at them." Chi-Chi gasped.
"So, is this good enough?" Gotenks asked with a smug smile.
"Yes, you did it flawlessly that time, and your energy is amazing," Piccolo smirked.
"We should test their strength to see how they do," Jason suggested.
"Good point. Would you mind giving them a quick spar?" Piccolo requested.
"Not at all," Jason replied as he stood before Gotenks.
"Alright, give me all you've got!" Jason insisted as he got into stance.
"If you insist but don't complain if you get hurt!" Gotenks goaded as he took stance.
"Overconfidence can only get you so far," Jason smirked as Gotenks disappeared and reappeared in front of Jason.
The fused warrior hurled his left fist at Jason, who easily blocked with his right. The Saiyan was surprised at how fast Gotenks was, but it wasn't anything he wasn't used to. Gotenks got back and spun around, kicking at Jason's head with the Saiyan just dodging.
Jason remained on the defensive so as to gauge Gotenks's power, and so far, he was impressed. If he had to compare it to anything, Gotenks was as strong as he was when he first obtained Super Saiyan.
"Alright, it's time to pull out all the stops!" Gotenks exclaimed as he jumped back and cupped his hands.
"Ka…me…ha…me…HA!" Gotenks shouted as he fired the large blue beam.
The beam was strong enough to shake the entire Lookout as Jason knocked the beam into the sky so as to not damage the Lookout. Smiling, Jason ended the spar there, satisfied with what he had seen.
"Not bad this can work!" Jason smirked.
"Agreed. Their power now is intense and comparable to most Super Saiyans. Imagine what their power will be once they obtain the transformation and after a year in the Time Chamber." Piccolo replied.
"Who needs training? I could totally beat Buu now!" Gotenks boasted.
"Oh great, he's too cocky." Elias sighed.
"You couldn't even push Jason to use Super Saiyan, much less Super Saiyan 4, and even he wasn't a match for Buu, so knock off the attitude!" Piccolo demanded intimidating Gotenks.
"Sorry." Gotenks apologized.
"Super Saiyan 4?" Elias questioned.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. Since Goku's new transformation was Super Saiyan 3, I decided to rename my Super Saiyan Primal form to Super Saiyan 4," Jason explained.
"It just sounds and feels right," Jason added.
"Fair enough," Elias replied.
"Alright, once you defuse, you'll be entering the time chamber to train for a whole year. It won't be easy, and you cannot give up." Piccolo stated.
"Practice with fusion each day along with pushing yourselves further and gaining Super Saiyan, understood?" Piccolo asked as Gotenks nodded.
"It's almost scary thinking of how strong Gotenks will be after the year of training," Elias commented.
"Yeah, but let's hope they come out strong enough to fight against one of the Buu's." Jason agreed.
"Let's get back to training. I think we've had a long enough break." Elias suggested as Jason nodded, and everyone returned to their normal goings about.
Supreme Kai's Planet…
Gohan was now fully able to use the Z Sword proficiently in the Super Saiyan state as he flew around, slicing the air around him. He also cut apart the boulders Goku tossed up to test him before he dropped down, returning to base form and wiping off his sweat.
"You're doing great, Gohan. Now you just need to get through your base form!" Goku exclaimed.
"Yes, but I think it is time to rest for the day. I'm truly surprised at your progress, but for now, you must get some sleep and food." Shin suggested.
"Good point. I can eat." Goku laughed as Kibito summoned food for them all.
"Supreme Kai, I have to ask who made the Z Sword?" Gohan inquired.
"It is unknown as it is older than even I. It is rumored that it was forged by the first Supreme Kai soon after he came to be." Shin began.
"It is said he used the relics of creation and destruction to give the sword its legendary power before he allowed all four to bring life to the universe." Shin continued.
"Though that is only a rumor." Shin finished.
"The relics aren't those the things that Zandaka stole and took to Jason's planet?" Goku questioned.
"Yes, they are, and because of that, life on the once desolate planet came to be. But now, thanks to the effort of Jason Shin, the relics are back where they belong." Shin answered.
"As we speak, new forms of life are forming, and new planets are emerging in the universe, creating a balance of life unseen in millennia," Shin added.
"Wow, but I have to ask, how does destruction give way to life?" Gohan inquired.
"Well, it gives people the power to destroy. While it would be best to create life that does not engage violence, it is needed to keep balance in the universe." Shin explained.
"All of which is also regulated by the God of Destruction." Shin thought, keeping that bit of knowledge to himself.
As the conversation ended, Gohan and Goku ate their fill before falling asleep with one another under a tree as the Z Sword leaned on it. Unnoticed by everyone, the ground underneath the legendary sword rippled before returning to normal.
Our Heroes continue to prepare for the three Buu's escape! As Goten and Trunks master Fusion Gohan trains with the legendary Z Sword. With Goku gone and everyone still training, will they be able to persevere? Find out Next Time!
Author's Note:
There we go, finally got this one out! The mighty Gotenks has arrived, and he is still as arrogant as ever! Like I said, he would appear, and Goten and Trunks will be training far longer in the Time Chamber.
I felt it made the most sense giving them proper training and a reason of how they got Super Saiyan instead of playing it like a joke. Also, just letting you know I will be changing some of the rules of fusion.
This goes for both the Fusion Dance and the Potara, but I will explain that in a future chapter. Just know it won't be anything too major. It's just going to keep it easier for me to write and make continuity.
The Z Sword is also much heavier obviously than it was in the original as Gohan had to train starting with Super Saiyan 2 and not just using Base. Next chapter will be a little more training and the final preparations before the battle against Buu!
I can't wait to write each separate battle with Buu because it's going to be fun! But that's going to have to wait, obviously. As stated before, now that Super Saiyan 3 is around, we will finally be calling Super Saiyan 4, well…Super Saiyan 4, which is a big relief.
It'll just make things so much easier writing about the form going forward, especially in future arcs, which will center on Jason getting stronger. Also, I added a little tidbit of Neo being the dominant one in the relationship, which is something I really need to do more of.
With most Saiyan marriages, I think we can all agree that the woman are the boss, lol. Also, I just got the new RWBY book and will start reading it. It is so weird seeing Neo's real name as I read the back, which gives a summary.
I won't say it as I don't want to spoil it for those who don't have it yet. That's all I have for today so let's get to the reviews:
Guest – I think we all get a little teary-eyed watching or reading Vegeta's sacrifice. I hope I still captured some of those feelings.
MattMatrix – I'm glad you liked my choice on Vegeta's sacrifice! I always felt like it was just a punch in the gut making the whole thing of Vegeta killing himself for nothing. But that ain't happening here cause I'm giving Vegeta the respect he deserves in this story.
Luffy L Deathwalker – Yeah, I get that, and again, I MAY consider bringing him back one day, but as of right now, I don't think so. But I will probably use the idea in a What If one day as Evan will be showing up a good amount in that story.
Kegeto – Crying? I'm not crying. You're crazy! *Sniff* lol. Glad to hear you're still enjoying the story!
Hawkeyestratos1996 – Sorry you feel that way, but I did state several times that the Buu in this story is FAR STRONGER than cannon. I even had the Supreme Kai state that Buu got stronger when Buu woke up. That is why he just absolutely floored everyone.
If I didn't, then well, the Buu arc wouldn't really be an arc but just Jason killing Buu then going home. So I felt it appropriate to make Buu stronger so I could explore this part of the story. But if that's how you feel, then that's perfectly fine. I'm sorry I couldn't keep you invested in this story.
Monster King – Thanks, glad you like it.
