Chapter 56: Three Buus! No Problem!
Last Time our heroes began the fight against the three Buus who had finally broken free from the Mafuba. But unfortunately, many were absorbed by the monster allowing the three to join against Jason and Android 17!
But just as the Buus seemed to be gaining the upper hand, Gohan arrives, having returned from the Supreme Kai's Planet! Will Gohan's return be enough to defeat Buu, or will the evil monster pull through? Find out now!
Supreme Kai's Planet…
Minutes Earlier…
"Here we go. We're just about done." Elder Kai informed as he lowered his hands.
"It's over?" Gohan asked as he got up and looked at himself.
"That's right, give it a go and see how powerful you've become." Elder Kai answered as Gohan powered up.
His power skyrocketed as he was surrounded by white energy and his hair remained unchanged. Everyone stared at the Half-Saiyan in disbelief as his power easily dwarfed what he had been capable of just a day prior.
"Amazing, you have to be as strong as Jason is in Super Saiyan 4! No, maybe even stronger!" Goku exclaimed as he measured his son's energy.
"This is perfect. Once you join the battle, the tides are sure to turn in our favor!" Shin smiled.
"Yeah." Gohan nodded as he balled his fists.
"Let's go!" Gohan insisted as Kibito nodded, ready to take him to Earth.
"Hold on just a second!" Elder Kai insisted as he got up and walked over to Gohan before handing the boy both of his earings.
"Take these with you. They'll come in handy if your power isn't enough." Elder Kai insisted as Gohan took the earrings.
"Uh, what do they do?" Gohan inquired as he held up the earrings.
"These are the sacred Potara Earrings. Each Supreme Kai is gifted a pair once they are appointed." Elder Kai began.
"They have great power that should be used only if necessary." Elder Kai continued.
"Great Ancestor, I am confused. What powers do the Potara have?" Shin questioned, having never heard of any special powers held by the earrings.
"The Potara have the power to fuse two individuals into one, much like that dance Goku taught those boys." Elder Kai revealed.
"Really?! Wearing these earrings can do that?" Goku gasped as he poked Shin's earrings until the Kai slapped his hand away.
"Correct, though, they work differently than that dance. For one, this fusion is far more powerful than the fusion dance, and secondly, it lasts for at maximum an hour." Elder Kai replied.
"To use it, you must give one of the earrings to another of equal or similar power and wear it on opposite ears. But know this. If you fuse with someone far weaker than you, it will hinder the fusion's power." Elder Kai explained.
"I see." Gohan nodded as he placed one on his left ear and pocketed the other.
"There is something else you need to know." Elder Kai stated, his tone getting serious.
"Make sure to only use the earrings as a last resort. Because while the fusion is far more powerful than that dance, there are some consequences." Elder Kai revealed.
"What consequences are there?" Gohan inquired.
"You see though the power of the fusion is great, the regulation of that power isn't. The fact is the fusion between mortals can be unstable the stronger it is." Elder Kai began.
"Especially when you use those Super Saiyan transformations, it will drain your power far more significantly than it would if you were to use that dance technique." Elder Kai continued.
"Because of that, it shortens the time you will stay fused the more power you exert. Which means you may not get the full-time limit of an hour." Elder Kai explained.
"When that happens, you'll be left completely drained of energy to the point you'll find it hard to even stand, leaving you completely vulnerable." Elder Kai finished.
"Wow, I guess the Fusion Dance handles power better," Goku murmured, noting that Gotenks had been able to fight for a long time while using his many Super Saiyan forms.
"Oh, I should note that the combined potential of the people fusing will be part of the fusion, same as the dance. It may not help now without training, but it's good to let it be known." Elder Kai revealed.
"To think the Potara could do that." Shin gasped as he took off his own pair.
"Be careful. With us Kai. The fusion is permanent." Elder Kai informed as Shin put his Potara back on.
"I'll keep that in mind. Thank you, Elder Kai." Gohan bowed as Goku walked up to his son.
"Good luck Gohan." Goku wished.
"Thank you, Dad." Gohan thanked as the two shared one last hug.
"I'm ready, Kibito," Gohan informed as Kibito nodded and placed his hand on Gohan's shoulder.
"Kai Kai." Kibito chanted as the two disappeared from the Supreme Kai Planet and appeared on Earth.
"I apologize for not placing you any closer to the battle, but I couldn't risk being attacked by surprise." Kibito apologized.
"It's fine. Thank you, Kibito." Gohan thanked as the two shook hands.
"Actually, do you mind changing my clothes to something closer to my father's gi?" Gohan requested.
"Very well." Kibito smiled as he held out his open palm, and Gohan's clothes changed to that closer to Goku's.
"Farewell, Gohan, and good luck." Kibito wished as he disappeared.
"Let's hope I won't need luck," Gohan murmured as he shot off towards the battle.
Present Time…
Kami's Lookout…
"Gohan's alive!" Chi-Chi exclaimed, happy at the news that her child was still alive.
"Yes, he's joined the battle against Buu," Dende answered as sweat came down his head.
"How did he get so powerful, though? He wasn't this strong a few days ago." Krillin wondered as he held his daughter.
While everyone was questioning Dende about the situation, Videl just looked out to the sky. She had despaired when she heard Gohan died, but now that he was alive, she felt relief. Though she didn't want to admit it, she felt like their situation was hopeless.
Even with Buu being in three parts, she felt that after hearing about how easily he mopped the floor with the strongest fighters on the planet. But now that Gohan was back, she had hope again that everything was going to be okay again.
"Kick their asses, Gohan." Videl smiled as the arguing around Dende continued.
With Jason…
"Gohan!" Jason gasped as he stared at the Half-Saiyan, who gave him a thumbs up.
"Sorry, I'm late. But I'm here to help finish this fight." Gohan smirked as he held out his open palm and let out a burst of energy, pushing the other two Buus away.
"But we thought you died. Where have you been?" Jason asked as he fired a Splitting Flare poking several holes in each Buu.
"I've been on the Supreme Kai's Planet after Kibito healed me." Gohan began as the two split apart, avoiding an attack from Buu.
"Didn't Kibito die…? Wait, the Dragon Balls!" Jason gasped as he realized that the Dragon Balls must have returned Kibito to life.
"That's right, after some grueling training, I'm ready to fight!" Gohan replied as he kicked Buu away.
Gohan then powered up, creating massive winds as he charged up a Kamehameha causing fierce winds. The power was so fierce it surprised Jason, who noted that Gohan might, in fact, be stronger than he was at full power.
The Half-Saiyan fired the blast knocking Buu into the ground and causing an Earth-shaking explosion in the attack's wake. When the dust settled, Buu was a torn mess, slowly putting himself back together.
Buulas and Buulo attempted to retaliate, but Gohan sensed their incoming attacks behind him, so he easily ducked under and dodged them. Gohan spun around and kicked through Buulas's chest before slamming his elbow into Buulo's face causing the monster to recoil in pain.
"I see. I still have some questions, but those can wait for later." Jason smirked as he dodged Buulo's stretched arm.
Grabbing onto the arm, he spun the monster around before bringing it to Gohan, who smashed Buulo to pieces forcing the monster to reform. Buulas attempted to attack Jason from behind but was stopped by a barrier made by 17 staggering the monster.
This allowed Jason to spin around and fire an Armageddon Blast sending Buulas flying away. 17 met Buulas halfway and crushed the monster between two barriers. He then fired a large beam sending Buulas back toward Jason, who grabbed onto Buulas's antenna and threw him toward the ground.
That was where Gohan waited, who blew him to pieces with a devastating strike that blew the clouds apart. Gohan then flew up, avoiding Buulo's attack before sending a shockwave that put Buulo to the ground.
"What's the plan?" Gohan inquired as he appeared next to Jason.
"Normally, I'd say obliterate their entire body, but they absorbed the others, so that may kill them too," Jason responded.
"Some of them have already been brought back with the Dragon Balls, too, meaning it wouldn't be good to do so," Gohan noted.
"So we're going to need to find a way to get them out of there," Jason murmured.
"That'll take time, so first, we need to incapacitate them," Jason stated as Gohan nodded.
"Then let's not keep them waiting." 17 insisted as the three split up to avoid the Buus.
Jason flew up, allowing Buulo to fly under him as he grabbed onto the monster's antenna, which stretched out as Buulo got farther. He then swung the pink creature around before slamming him to the ground.
Buulo broke apart and shot past Jason before reforming above the Saiyan and swinging his arms to hit Jason in the back. However, Jason used Instant Transmission to avoid the attack before appearing next to Buulo and tearing his head off with a Dragon Claw.
He then followed it up with Quasar Flare knocking Buulo away before he had the chance to reform. Normally he would also follow up with another blast attack, but Jason needed to conserve energy, so he opted to wait for Buulo to get back up so he could knock him back down.
Meanwhile, Gohan easily dodged Buulas's attack, in stark contrast to when he first encountered Buu. The Half Saiyan used his speed to his advantage as he laid out several blows on Buulas while dodging the monster's stretched-out attacks.
"Grrr, stay still!" Buulas demanded as Gohan grabbed onto his outstretched arm and pulled him into a kick to his face.
The enraged Buulas was about to explode with energy before getting an idea. His body began to morph before shrinking down to just below Gohan's size. The Half Saiyan was confused by the act until Buulas shot toward him at a frightening speed.
Gohan just managed to dodge Buulas's attack but failed to dodge Buulas's follow-up when the monster spun around and kicked Gohan in the head. He crashed to the ground as Buulas rocketed into him, raising the ground around them into several pillars.
Releasing a shockwave of Ki Gohan pushed Buulas off of him before pushing him back toward the sky. Backing up, Gohan assaulted Buulas with several punches and kicks before stuffing a Kamehameha into the monster's stomach and blowing it apart.
While the two Saiyans managed to be on par with their Buus, 17 wasn't as lucky. His strength wasn't as comparable to Buu's, especially one-on-one, but he wasn't out of options. 17 made use of his barriers to throw Buu off and make it hurt itself.
Several times 17 forced Buu to chase him only to trick the monster into hitting his barriers or the pillars of rock created when Gohan hit the ground. Additionally, he used barriers to cut the creature in half as Buu reached top speed.
Each time he disoriented Buu, 17 also took the chance to attack Buu with everything he had. He riddled the monster with holes and cut it apart several times, but Buu didn't tire. But neither did 17, who had a bottomless pit of energy.
However, that may not be enough for 17 to beat Buu as the monster was still stronger than him meaning it would take a lot of time to win. 17 didn't know if he could do it alone, but he wasn't going to back down, especially since 18 was still in Buu.
To save her, he had to incapacitate Buu and figure out how to remove her and the others from him. Ducking into the pillars, 17 led Buu into a cavern-like enclosure and used the rocks to hide from Buu.
"QUIT HIDING!" Buu shouted as his roar shook the cavern.
"You can't keep tricking me like this! I will level this whole planet to get you!" Buu stated.
"Sure you will." 17 smirked as he fired several beams at the pillars of rock, causing the cavern to collapse on Buu and himself.
He protected himself with a barrier as Buu was crushed by the rocks. It wasn't long after 17 got out of the rock that Buu reformed above him. Before the monster could attack, he was hit by Buulo as Jason had thrown him back, causing both to break apart and slowly reform.
"You holding up over here?" Jason asked as he flew next to 17.
"For now. But we need a plan of action on getting those absorbed out." 17 answered as Jason nodded.
"You're right…." Jason murmured before turning his head to the sky.
"Shin. If you're really alive, do you have any ideas?" Jason inquired, hoping the Supreme Kai would hear his inquiry.
Supreme Kai Planet…
"It seems they're contacting us." Elder Kai commented as the four watched the battle through the orb.
"Thank goodness the disturbance has died down." Shin sighed, happy that he could communicate with the fighters on Earth.
"Yes Jason, I can hear you," Shin responded as he linked with the Saiyan telepathically.
"Unfortunately, I've never known of a way to free those who Buu has absorbed," Shin informed.
"Is there really nothing we can do?" Jason questioned.
"Perhaps there is. We just need to look inside." Elder Kai replied as he changed the scene on the orb to a fleshy mass.
"Wait, who said that?" Jason asked.
"I am a Supreme Kai of old. You can call me Elder Kai." Elder Kai introduced himself as the orb soon displayed the image of Piccolo, Goten, and Trunks trapped in pods of flesh came into view.
"As I thought, they're still alive in there!" Elder Kai exclaimed as everyone looked at the scene.
"Thank goodness!" Goku smirked.
"But if they're still in Buu, doesn't that mean they're really small?" Goku pointed out.
"It could be that Buu's bodily system works differently than normal life forms. It could be that anything taken inside grows smaller to maintain his body mass." Elder Kai theorized.
"It's better than dissolving them," Shin commented.
"So that means we can go inside of them?" Jason inquired.
"That's kinda…gross. Plus, how do we even do that without being absorbed ourselves?" Jason questioned.
"We don't know." Shin sighed as Goku rubbed his chin.
"Jason, I think if you coat yourself with a layer of Ki to form a barrier, it could keep Buu from fully absorbing you," Goku instructed.
"You think it'll work?" Jason asked.
"It's worth a shot, but the only way to figure it out for certain is to test it out," Goku answered.
"And if I fail, then Buu will become stronger," Jason murmured.
Earth…
Jason and 17 readied themselves as the two Buus got back up and shot toward them. 17 provided covering fire as Jason rocketed forward and knocked the two apart, allowing 17's attacks to nail them. The Saiyan then slammed Buulo across the face and in the stomach several times before kicking him toward the sky.
He was thinking about Goku's suggestion and how risky it was. Jason didn't want to risk it, but what if there was no other choice? Plus, there were only three of them and three Buus, meaning they could only do it one at a time, making it dangerous for the other two.
"Plus, if they merge once more, then it'll be even more problematic," Jason noted as Gohan descended on them, having knocked his Buu away.
"Did you get something?" Gohan inquired, having heard Jason talk.
"Goku gave a suggestion, but I wouldn't recommend it," Jason responded as he gave Gohan a quick explanation.
"I see. We don't have many other options beyond that." Gohan murmured as the three split up to avoid the Buu's next attack.
As the three reengaged the Buus, Gohan looked at his pocket, remembering the Potara Earrings. If he gave the other to Jason, their resulting fusion should be strong enough to defeat Buu while 17 goes in to rescue the others.
But it was still risky because if they somehow used too much power while fused, they'll be left powerless when split apart. That being said, he knew it was a good idea to keep the Potara handy in order to use it if needed.
While in his thoughts, Buulas attacked him from behind, but the Half Saiyan caught his arm and kicked him in the chin. Grabbing onto Buulas's head and threw him to the ground shattering it instantly. Dropping down, Gohan finished his assault with a large Kamehameha.
It didn't take long for Buulas to reform though, as the monster grew its fists and swung them down at Gohan. The Half Saiyan sighed and blasted the attack to bits with a single punch. For the moment, he would keep fighting.
17 kept on the defensive as Buu swung at him furiously. The android stopped the attack when he surrounded the monster with several boxes of barriers. Buu was squished to the box's shape before breaking the barriers apart.
Jason slammed his fist into Buulo's gut, stretching it out in a cartoon-like manner. He then grabbed onto Buulo's antenna and leg and stretched the monster out on a pillar. When he let go, Buulo was shot out, crashing into the ground.
As the battle continued, Gohan realized another problem with his father's suggestion. Though it could allow them to free their friends, they would all have to do it for the three Buus at once. Otherwise, with their intelligence at the level it was, they would figure out what they were doing.
But if they were to go in all at once, it would leave Buu free to wreak havoc on Earth, and if they weren't fast, they might not have a planet to return to. Which meant they would be kept in this stalemate for the time being.
Supreme Kai's Planet…
"Damn, I should have realized such an idea would have been pointless in this situation." Goku cursed, having come to the same realization as his son.
"Don't say that Goku it was a good suggestion. It's just unfortunate that there is no easy answer to this situation." Shin replied.
"If only I could be there and help. But it would take too much time to find the Dragon Balls on new Namek to bring me back." Goku sighed.
"DRAGON BALLS?! You fools have been using the Dragon Balls!?" Elder Kai gasped as he turned his attention away from his mystic ball.
"I told those Namekians not to use those blasted things eons ago! They mess with the natural order of the universe!" Elder Kai complained.
"I can't allow the use of such objects." Elder Kai declared as Goku jumped to his feet.
"But it's the only way to bring everyone back!" Goku argued as Shin chimed in.
"Please Great Ancestor, be reasonable." Shin implored.
"I can't allow it to happen. As a Supreme Kai, you know it's not good for the universe if they are used like this." Elder Kai replied as Goku thought of a plan.
"What if I get you the chance to kiss a cute girl." Goku offered as he inched close to the Elder Kai.
"Goku! Something like that would never…." Shin began before Elder Kai interrupted him.
"I'm listening." Elder Kai smirked as he stroked his chin.
"Let us use the Dragon Balls, and I can get a cute girl to give you a kiss," Goku stated.
"Who might this girl be?" Elder Kai inquired as Goku laughed nervously.
The Saiyan cycled through the women he knew, thinking of one that might go along with this plan. Chi-Chi would kill him all over again if he suggested it, Vegeta would kill him if he asked Bulma, and he didn't want to know what Jason or Neo would do if he asked Neo to do it.
"U-U-Uh, it's a surprise." Goku stammered as Elder Kai squinted at him.
"Very well. I'll allow it." Elder Kai replied as Goku smiled and Shin deadpanned.
"But that being said like you stated earlier, it will take time to gather the orbs up to use, and right now, they need help to get the others out of Buu." Elder Kai sighed.
"Buu will run amok if nothing happens, but we're short on fighters. Due to their lack of numbers, it also keeps Gohan from using the Potara to fuse." Elder Kai continued.
"So Goku you must go." Elder Kai stated, confusing Goku and the others.
"But how? I'm still dead, and we don't have the Dragon Balls gathered?" Goku questioned.
"I still have a little bit of life left. I can use it to bring you back to life." Elder Kai explained as Shin and Kibito ran up to him.
"Great Ancestor, you can't do that!" Shin gasped.
"Yes, let me do it! It is my job to protect the Supreme Kai!" Kibito insisted.
"No you two are both still young. The universe is in your hands." Elder Kai denied as he walked over toward Goku.
"But if you do this, then wouldn't our agreement be invalid?" Goku inquired, confused at all the fuss when the Elder Kai was going to do this.
"Where do you youngsters think I'm going?! Just because I'm giving my life force to you doesn't mean I'm going anywhere. After all, you're dead and still here!" Elder Kai pointed out.
"Oh…right." Goku chuckled, scratching the back of his head as Kibito and Shin looked embarrassed.
"Now then, stand still please." Elder Kai requested as he raised his hands toward Goku.
Slowly Goku felt himself change as the halo over his head slowly disappeared while one began to appear over Elder Kai's head. Soon the deed was done, and Goku was flesh and blood once more as he looked at his body.
"I almost forgot what it feels like to be alive," Goku smirked as he made a fist and made some practice punches.
"Yes though, that being dead doesn't feel too bad." Elder Kai commented as he inspected his body.
"Take note that your body won't be as versatile as your afterlife form, so try not to waste the life I gave you." Elder Kai informed.
"You've got it." Goku nodded as he put his fingers up to his forehead before stopping.
"Wait, but wouldn't we still be one person short? We can't leave one person to fight all three Buus." Goku pointed out as he dropped his hands.
"He makes a good point." Kibito agreed as a telepathic voice spoke up.
"I may have a solution for you." King Kai informed, catching everyone's attention.
"You do King Kai?" Goku questioned.
"More specifically, King Yemma has the solution. He managed to save a certain soul before going to hell." King Kai stated.
Other World Check-In Station…
"So you understand the deal right? I can't guarantee you heaven, but I can guarantee you won't go to hell." King Yemma inquired as a spiky-haired man stood in front of him.
"Yes, I know. Now let's get this show on the road." Vegeta insisted as he crossed his arms.
"I still have a bone to pick with Buu, and I still have a responsibility to clean up this mess," Vegeta smirked.
Supreme Kai's Planet…
"Vegeta?! Alright, I thought he was gone for good!" Goku exclaimed.
"With him, that's three to enter each Buu to remove the people within." Shin nodded as Elder Kai finished stretching out his new body.
"Alright, no time to dilly-dallying get over to Earth! There's no time to lose!" Elder Kai insisted as he shook his fist into the air.
"Right. Wish me luck!" Goku smiled as he placed two fingers on his forehead and the Saiyan disappeared.
"Let's hope this works." Shin sighed as the three looked back at the magic ball.
Earth…
Jason and Gohan dodged the oncoming attacks from both Buulas and Buulo as the two grew their arms out and bent them out of shape to hit them. Anytime one got close, they either moved out of the way or destroyed it.
Meanwhile, 17 was kept on the defensive as Buu no longer fell for his tactics. The android didn't have much opportunity to attack, but he was just patiently waiting for the right moment to strike. If he had the right angle, he might be able to destroy the monster's heart. If it even had one.
Then again, its regenerative abilities may be so strong that it didn't have a need for a heart. Breathing heavily, Jason was losing more and more power as time went on. Because he was holding back, he was wasting his power. He didn't know how much longer he could hold onto Super Saiyan 4.
"How are you holding up?" Gohan asked as the two flew back to back.
"I'm fine. But if this situation doesn't change soon, we might be in trouble." Jason responded as he bent his neck to avoid Buulas's fist.
"True…." Gohan began before looking back at his pocket.
"Jason, hold onto this earring for me. If necessary, I want you to put in on your ear. Opposite to the one I'm wearing." Gohan requested as he handed Jason the Potara.
"Didn't think you were one for jewelry Gohan," Jason commented as he grabbed onto the earring.
"Elder Kai gave it to me. If we use it, we'll fuse like Goten and Trunks, but the fusion will be far stronger. But it comes at a risk so let's hope we don't have to use it." Gohan explained.
"If we do, please make sure you're in base form just in case." Gohan insisted as Jason nodded.
"It does sound like a last resort. I'll keep it close." Jason replied as he pocketed the potara before a large energy signature appeared in the distance.
"It couldn't be," Jason murmured as Gohan looked in the same direction.
I guess the Kai's still have some tricks up their sleeves." Gohan smiled as he sensed his father's energy signature.
No sooner did the energy signature show up did Goku appear over Buu and punched him into the ground, having already transformed into Super Saiyan 3. The sudden appearance of the Saiyan grabbed the Buus' attention allowing Jason and Gohan to get a few good licks in.
"Goku! How are you back?!" Jason questioned as he and Gohan flew down to him.
"Elder Kai used his life force to bring me back. Once Fortuneller Baba brings back Vegeta, we'll be set for the plan." Goku explained, shocking Jason.
"Vegeta's coming back too?! It almost feels like death doesn't count for you guys." Jason sighed as 17 rose to their level.
"I'm just not going to question it." 17 murmured as Gohan gave his father a quick hug.
"You get used to it," Gohan replied as the three Buus lined up.
"Another nuisance joins the fray it seems." Buulo spat as he bent his neck at various angles.
"It doesn't matter how many they bring." Buulas snickered as Goku scowled.
"Jason. Gohan. I need you both to go all out in a minute. Hold nothing back." Goku insisted confusing Jason and Gohan both.
"Goku, if we do that, we risk injuring everyone inside." Jason pointed out as the group scattered to avoid the Buus attack.
"I know, but it's the only way to make them desperate enough to enact the plan!" Goku replied as he used Instant Transmission to get next to Jason.
"How do we know if it'll work? After all, they could just reform into the original?" Jason asked as he fired two Splitting Flares.
"I've been watching the fight for a while in Other World, and I don't think they want to reform. They want to drag this out because it's fun for them," Goku responded as Jason nodded.
"Right. They're pretty sick like that." Jason sighed as he dodged an attack from Buu.
"Now, when I return with Vegeta, you two hold nothing back!" Goku smirked as he placed two fingers against his temple and appeared next to 17.
"Hi there. I'm going to need you to come with me for a minute." Goku requested as 17 glared at him.
"You know, I always thought about what I would do if I ever did get the chance to meet you." 17 sighed as he closed his eyes.
"Honestly, I feel a little disappointed." 17 chuckled as he looked at Goku.
"If you got a plan, then let's get it over with." 17 insisted as Goku grabbed hold of his shoulder before using Instant Transmission to go to Baba's.
"At least it's not three against one." Jason sighed as he maxed out his power and shot toward the Buus.
Gohan quickly joined him as the two attacked the three Buus. They needed to keep each Buu occupied in case one decided to go off to find Goku and 17. Buulas whipped his arm toward Jason, but the Saiyan caught it and threw Buulas into Buu.
When the two monsters recovered, Gohan took them off guard by firing a large Kamehameha, blasting them apart. Buulo retaliated by attacking Gohan from behind, but the Half Saiyan dropped down and kicked Buulo in the chin.
The kick sent Buulo flying toward a waiting Jason, who knocked the monster back down to the ground. But Jason was taken off guard by Buulas, who morphed into a ball and slammed into Jason's back before flying at sonic speeds slamming into Jason several more times.
Using Instant Transmission, Jason escaped the assault and tore Buulas apart with a Dragon Claw. Meanwhile, Gohan was dealing with both Buu and Buulo, who were slowly overpowering the Half Saiyan, who was still holding back.
"What's keeping Dad?" Gohan wondered as he slammed his fist into Buu's face.
Fortuneteller Baba's Home…
Few Minutes Earlier…
"You only have twenty-four hours to be in the mortal world, so make good use of it and don't waste time like that fool Goku," Baba informed as Vegeta exited the dome they appeared in.
"I'm not stupid like that fool. I came back to get a job done, and I'm here to do just that." Vegeta stated as Goku, and 17 appeared before them.
"So you really did get brought back to life. It feels almost ironic that our roles are reversed now." Vegeta smirked as he approached Goku.
"True, but we can save all that talk for later. We need to put a stop to Buu." Goku replied.
"Care to fill us in on what your plan is?" 17 inquired as he stepped forward.
"Right, let's get to the point. Right now, the only thing keeping Jason and Gohan from obliterating Buu is because our friends and family have been absorbed by Buu." Goku began.
"So we need to get them out, and I might have an idea how. We just need to cover ourselves in a shield of Ki, and it might just allow us to prevent Buu from fully absorbing us." Goku finished to only meet a pause.
"I've been back for barely a minute, and already you're coming up with a plan to put me back to Otherworld." Vegeta scoffed as he crossed his arms.
"I know it might seem dangerous, but it's our only shot for safely getting them out and taking care of Buu," Goku argued as 17 sighed.
"I have some confidence I can pull it off, but you two might have some trouble." 17 stated as he showed off his barriers.
"That's all well and good, but that doesn't help Kakarot and myself." Vegeta spat as he flicked one of the barriers creating a small crack.
"We just need to get a good technique down as fast as we can, and unfortunately, we can't use the Time Chamber," Goku said as he stepped back a few steps.
"So we better hurry up and get started," Goku stated as he powered up.
"Fine, I've got some ideas anyway," Vegeta smirked as he powered up after Goku.
"Let's get this done so I can get my son out of that monster." Vegeta insisted.
With Jason and Gohan…
Jason crashed through a valley's rock wall as Buulas and Buulo rampaged after him. Maneuvering to his feet, the Saiyan skidded across the ground as he blocked and countered their attacks. Grabbing onto Buulas's arm, he kneed the creature in the stomach before kicking Buulo.
He then tossed Buulas away, allowing Gohan to shoot down and slam the monster into the ground. Gohan then jumped away, avoiding Buu, who crashed down after him. The Half Saiyan ducked down to avoid the monster's attack before tossing a ball of Ki into Buu.
The attack blew Buu back for a moment as Buulas shot forward, taking Buu's place and attacking Gohan. Buulas slammed into the Half Saiyan, knocking him into Jason, causing both to tumble to the ground before quickly getting back to their feet.
As the Buus reconvened, Jason and Gohan fired off a combined blast causing the valley they stood in to collapse. Flying back to the sky, the two waited for the Buus to attack, but the attack never came.
"What are they doing down there?" Jason wondered as he looked at the rubble.
"Nothing good. At least it doesn't seem like they're joining back together." Gohan replied, sensing the Buus energy.
Just as he said that, the ground erupted, and several beams shot up toward the two Saiyans. There were too many for them to dodge, so Jason used Instant Transmission to get him and Gohan out of the way to the nearest Ki signature he could find.
It was fortunate that it wasn't too far, and it got both Jason and Gohan out of harm's way. But it was very unfortunate who they had teleported to as Hercule Satan fell to the ground shaking as Jason and Gohan appeared before him.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Jason questioned, confused about why Mr. Satan was even there.
"I…uh…just wanted to keep the people calm." Mr. Satan stuttered till Gohan kneeled down.
"That's all well and good, but you need to get to a safer area. I really don't want Videl to get angry about her Dad being injured." Gohan insisted as he picked up Mr. Satan.
Once Mr. Satan got to his feet, Jason and Gohan sensed the Buus coming their way. Jason grabbed onto Mr. Satan and used Instant Transmission to get Mr. Satan out of the way before returning to Gohan's side.
"Where did you take him?" Gohan inquired as he and Jason got ready.
"The Lookout. Had to make it quick before everyone started asking too many questions. But he looked happy to see Videl." Jason replied as they shot off to meet the Buus halfway.
The resulting collision caused a massive shockwave breaking the ground below them, causing massive fractures, and creating new hills and mountains. It seemed the Earth was still very fragile and perhaps would need a wish saved to repair it.
Moving back, Jason and Gohan fired off several blasts of Ki at the Buus, but the monsters used their elasticity to avoid the attacks. It seemed that with their brains being more powerful, they are able to learn how to fight them better, making waiting more dangerous.
It was then that Goku, who was in Super Saiyan 3, reappeared with Vegeta and 17 in tow before firing a massive Kamehameha. Taking that as their cue Jason and Gohan released their power and charged in toward the Buus.
Now holding nothing back, Jason and Gohan assaulted the Buus as the other's played backup, much to Vegeta's annoyance. The Buus were taken off guard by the sudden surge of power, especially on Gohan's part, causing them to be knocked around.
Jason tore a large hole through Buulo before kicking Buu's head clean off while Gohan split Buulas in half. When the Buus attempted to recover Goku, Vegeta, and 17 interveined, putting them more down.
With no time to talk, no time to communicate, the group still knew exactly what needed to be done. They needed to push each Buu to the brink so they would absorb one of them, allowing them to save those trapped inside.
"You dare play with us!" Buulo shouted as he spun in a circle to keep back Jason and Gohan.
"We're still stronger!" Buulas declared as he looked at the fighters.
"And we can be stronger too," Buulas smirked as his fellow Buus came to the same realization.
The Buus broke apart and scattered all around them, surrounding the group with small pink orbs. Goku and Vegeta surrounded themselves with their experimental technique while 17 prepared a small barrier around himself.
It didn't take long before the pink balls shot toward the group of fighters, and while Goku, Vegeta, and 17 didn't move, Jason and Gohan escaped. Jason and Gohan watched as the others were covered by Buu and slowly absorbed into their individual masses.
Goku was taken into Buulas while Vegeta was absorbed into Buulo as 17 was absorbed by Buu. Soon after, they retook their shape, and the three were gone, but the Buu's didn't change at all. In fact, they looked quite shocked as they inspected themselves and each other.
"It looks like it worked," Gohan smirked as he cracked his knuckles.
"Yeah, so let's make sure they don't figure out what happened." Jason nodded as the two shot towards the three Buus.
Gohan knocked Buulas down while Jason slammed his fist against Buu's head before flipping over to kick Buulo away. Turning back around, Jason fired a Quasar Flare sending Buu flying, before ducking down to dodge Buulo's attack.
Jason grabbed onto Buulo's head and threw him down as Gohan tossed Buulas into its counterpart. The Half Saiyan then fired a Masenko at the two, but Buu stopped him by hitting him in the back.
But Gohan quickly retaliated by spinning around and grabbing onto Buu's legs and swinging the monster around before swinging it at Jason, who slammed his fist into the creature's stomach. Buu was sent flying to the ground as its counterparts joined it.
"Why are we not stronger?!" Buu questioned as the three got closer.
"It seems the ones we absorbed did something," Buulo theorized as they continued to get closer.
"Yes. So let's fix that." Buulas suggested as they began to join together.
"They're trying to reform together!" Gohan shouted as he and Jason shot toward them.
However, they were too late as their strength was already increasing to the point where they were able to knock the two away. Jason was unable to get up right away as the exhaustion was kicking in, as his reserves were running very low.
Gohan helped him to his feet before giving him a little energy to keep on fighting. But continuing that fight was going to be fairly difficult as Buu was far stronger than he even was when he first broke free.
"This is bad," Jason murmured as he and Gohan watched Buu become whole once more.
Inside Buu…
"This is disgusting!" Vegeta spat as he trudged through the flesh-covered halls of Buu's innards.
When he had been absorbed a process he had thoroughly hated, he was a little surprised that his and Goku's impromptu technique worked. But for now, he needed to focus on finding whoever had been absorbed by the Buu who captured him.
He hoped to save Trunks at the very least. The Saiyan Prince owed it to his son to keep him alive. After all, Buu escaping was technically his fault, so he felt responsible for Trunks being absorbed too.
"Where could Buu be keeping them?" Vegeta wondered as he heard footsteps coming from the darkest reaches of Buu's flesh.
Vegeta readied for a fight though he was confused at what could even be inside Buu to attack him. He theorized that it could be some sort of immune system that was heading his way, or perhaps somehow Buu could appear in its own body. But neither was the case.
"What the…Kakarot!?" Vegeta gasped as he and Goku were met face to face.
"Vegeta? But I thought we were absorbed into a different Buu?" Goku muttered as he approached Vegeta.
"We did, so how did you screw it up?" Vegeta questioned as Goku raised his hands in defense.
"I didn't do anything!" Goku replied as another set of footsteps took their attention.
"Then we have a problem." 17 stated as he came into view.
"Because if we're all here. Then something must have happened on the outside." 17 pointed out as he tapped the flesh walls.
"You don't suppose Buu reformed into one being?" Vegeta proposed as he crossed his arms.
"If he did, our task became that much harder," Goku replied as the room around them began to shift.
"Thinking about it. If three Buu's became one. What happened to the other two minds?" 17 wondered as two figures grew from the flesh behind him.
Outside of Buu…
Buu tore off the excess clothing its counterparts left when they had rejoined and stared at the two Saiyans who stood in the distance. The sheer power Buu radiated was more than both Gohan and Jason could have imagined, and even working together, they stood no chance at beating it.
Which left only one option at countering this monster as Jason dug the Potara out of his pocket and looked at Gohan, who gave him a nod. The two returned to their base form as Jason put on the earring on the opposite ear as Gohan's.
Instantly the two felt an unknown force pull them together as they were lifted off the ground and sent flying into one another. When they crashed into each other, a blinding light covered the area as Buu stood confused at what was happening but was confident that nothing would happen.
But something did happen as neither Gohan nor Jason stood there but someone else entirely. He wore a gi similar to Gohan's, but it was red and black in color, and his hair was spikey like a Saiyans, but it was neat like Gohan's. His tail swung around as his calm glare dug into Buu.
"Who are you?" Buu questioned as he appeared before the fusion.
"My name is Goson, and I'm here to kill you." Goson declared as he flexed his power, causing Buu to step backward.
Buu is now one once more! The monster's power is so great it forces Gohan and Jason to fuse into Goson, whose power is so great that it makes Buu step backward! Was it in fear? Can Goku, Vegeta, and 17 save those Buu has absorbed?

Finally got this done. Sorry for the delay, but I wanted to get my other stories updated before this one. I would have gotten it out sooner, but I actually got Covid which, let me tell you, sucks ass, and I do not recommend it. In reality, I'm fine. I was only really sick for a day or two, and thankfully, I was vaccinated, so the symptoms weren't too bad.
I feel much better now and was able to get this chapter done! Now onto a few things. First and foremost, about Jason and Gohan's fusion, I want to clarify how it's pronounced as it is pretty confusing. It is pronounced as (Go-Z-Un), so not like (Go-Son). Honestly, I debated several fusion names for this but felt this one sounded the best.
Can't wait to show him off more next chapter and the adventures inside Buu. For those wondering if Vegito will still make an appearance, I'm just going to say it here and now that he won't. I want the focus to be more on Gohan and Jason being the strongest in this arc, so unfortunately, that means no Vegito yet.
Speaking of the strongest, Gohan is, in fact, the strongest mortal at the moment, just above Jason at Full Power SSJ4. All of that is due to the fact that he never stopped training and that I made the Z Sword a hell of a lot heavier than it was in canon. Before anyone asks, I also don't plan on giving Gohan any more transformations either.
I think his Ultimate Form should be his final form and a form he can just continuously get stronger and stronger with. Back onto the topic of fusion, I did obviously change how both forms of fusion work in my fic, not only to make it, so both have their own strengths and weaknesses. Plus, I also wanted Elder Kai to know it was temporary in mortals.
You'll see the full extent of the Potara Fusion of course next chapter, which hopefully I can get out sooner, but who knows. I do hope to somehow get this arc done by the end of the year, so hopefully, I can make that happen. That being said, I don't see this arc being any longer than I think three more chapters.

MattMatrix – Glad you liked the chapter, and I hope this one was a blast, lol. Yeah, giving a character God Ki does feel overused in most fics, so I decided to take a different route. Plus, I feel that SSJ4 is a better form for Jason because it feels like him truly accepting his heritage as a Saiyan, just like with the Primal State.
Plus yeah, mortals can 100% match gods. I mean, Frieza and Hit are two examples. The biggest example is Jiren since he doesn't utilize God Ki at all and matched Ultra Instinct Goku! I do plan on Jason getting as strong as a god in his own way, and I'm really excited to show his further growth.
Arkanataraisa – When Jason and Beerus do meet, it will be very interesting, especially their battle, but I don't want to say too much. Thankfully Beerus is going to show up real soon. As for Jason's age, he is about 24 years old now, physically and mentally. Though of course technically speaking, he is 36 due to being in hypersleep for 12 years.
For the others, they're either a year younger or older respectively. Like for example, Ruby is 23 years old while Yang is 25, and so on.

I do not plan on doing any OC transformations, so to speak, but Jason will evolve SSJ4 in a way that's kinda been done but is still technically different. I can't really explain it without outright saying what it is, so you'll just have to wait and see!
