Chapter 57: The Unbeatable Fusion!
Last Time Gohan returns from the Supreme Kai's planet and aids Jason and 17 against the three Majin Buus! But our heroes were unable to deal the final blow knowing it would kill their friends and family who had been absorbed by the monster.
Upon realizing this, Elder Kai revives Goku allowing him to rejoin the battle for his home, while at the same time, Vegeta is brought back by Fortune Teller Baba. Leaving Gohan and Jason to fight the Buus, Goku, Vegeta, and 17 allow themselves to be absorbed by Buu to save their friends!
But the Buus soon realize this, and they reform into one to deal with their intruders, leaving Gohan and Jason one option. The Potara. The two use the earrings to fuse into one forming Goson, who declares that he will kill Buu!

Earth…
Buu shook as Goson stared at the monster coldly. The fusion just stood there, arms crossed as if waiting for Buu to make the first move. This caused Buu to break a sweat before beginning to giggle and then cackle at the current situation before him.
"Well, well, you certainly seem stronger than the others. I'll give you that." Buu laughed as he recomposed himself.
"But you'll fall just like the oth-" Buu began before being instantly interrupted by Goson planting his elbow into Buu's face causing the monster's head to fly backward.
When Buu's head returned to normal, the monster snarled as it threw a punch at Goson, who used Instant Transmission to avoid the attack. The fusion appeared behind Buu, slamming both of his fists into Buu's skull, causing Buu to howl in pain.
Folding his body forward, Buu kicked Goson in the face sending him flying backward. Buu quickly followed, extending his fist back to let out an even more potent attack. But when he threw his punch, Goson easily caught it.
Goson then spun around, reeling Buu in before landing a swift blow to Buu's chin, sending Buu flying upward. The monster didn't go far as Goson grabbed his leg and threw the monster back to the ground.
Buu stopped his descent by extending out his arms in a spiral form to form springs allowing him to shoot back up and kick Goson's chest. As Goson was sent flying back, he used Instant Transmission to put him behind Buu, allowing him to land a strike on the monster's spine.
Whipping his head back, Buu smacked Goson with his antenna, which only served to annoy Goson, who grabbed onto it and stretched it out as he placed Buu in a headlock. Twisting his body around so that it was facing Goson while his head wasn't, Buu slammed his fists several times into Goson's gut.
This forced Goson to let go of Buu, who untwisted his body, returning him to normal. Stretching out his arms, Buu attempted to bind Goson then absorb him. But Goson used Instant Transmission again to avoid the attack and appeared above Buu to hit him in the back of the head.
In retaliation, Buu grabbed onto Goson's arm and threw him over his head and toward the ground. But Goson flipped onto his feet, landing safely as he flicked Buu's extended arms away with his tail. Goson shot up and punched at Buu as the monster did the same, with both attacks clashing.
However, Buu's attack was stronger, sending Goson flying back down and skidding back as he landed, cracking the ground as he slid across it. Unfazed, Goson watched as Buu shot down, racing toward him as the fusion transformed into Super Saiyan to counter Buu's growing strength.
The ground broke apart below them as they clashed before firing into the sky as they struck one another, creating massive shockwaves. Buu attempted to take Goson off guard as he grew two more arms to attack the fusion warrior.
But the attacks were completely predictable to Goson as Buu clearly had no experience fighting with four arms. This allowed Goson to easily counter each of Buu's attacks forcing the monster to retract his new arms.
It seemed that Buu was still getting used to his new powers while Goson paced himself to not impede the ones inside Buu. Which means the outcome of this battle will be determined by who can go all out first, and Goson hoped that everyone inside could get out sooner rather than later.
Inside Buu…
"Just great, now what?!" Vegeta questioned as he fired several balls of ki at the Buu that was chasing him.
"You and I will keep them busy! 17 you go save the others!" Goku insisted as 17 nodded, preparing to rush past the Buus.
Goku and Vegeta transformed into Super Saiyan 2 and attacked the Buus, who easily dodged their attacks. No matter how hard they tried, neither Goku nor Vegeta could land a hit. If Goku were to transform into Super Saiyan 3, he could most likely change that, but it wasn't an option.
At the moment, he needed to conserve energy, and since his body was now mortal, the draining effects of Super Saiyan 3 would be that much greater. If he was left drained, Buu could easily absorb him fully. Either way, actually hitting the Buus wasn't their real intention anyway.
What they needed was to create an opening for 17 to go and find the others, and if he could free them, then their fight would be far easier. In order to keep the Buus attention, Goku attempted to use Instant Transmission in his fight.
But to his surprise, it didn't work. For some reason or another, he couldn't use the technique, most likely because he was inside Buu's body. Gritting his teeth, Goku returned to the defensive while attempting to throw an attack every now and again. That is until he got an idea.
"VEGETA, 17! CLOSE YOUR EYES!" Goku insisted as he raised his hands along his face.
"SOLAR FLARE!" Goku shouted as the entire area was surrounded by a bright light blinding the Buus.
"Aw!" The Two Buus cried as they covered their eyes in pain.
"NOW!" Goku ordered as 17 nodded and jumped off down a corridor away from the Buus, using his speed to his advantage.
But the Buus smirked in response as one disappeared into the flesh around them before appearing before 17, no worse for wear. The monster knocked the android back into the same corridor as he had been in before.
"Tsk damn, guess it doesn't matter where we go." Vegeta cursed as he and Goku joined with 17.
"You're in our body. What did you think would happen?" Buu questioned as both laughed, showing that they controlled the situation.
"It would be best to just surrender and let us absorb you!" Buu laughed as the two monsters prepared to attack the three.
But suddenly, the area around them shook violently as even the Buus in front of them were taken off guard. The three fighters were flung down different corridors as the two Buus stood in place, irritated that they were interrupted.
When Goku landed, the area around him still shook but not as bad as it had been before. He assumed that was a result of Gohan and Jason fighting the Buu outside, and it served as a perfect opportunity to find the others.
That being said, being apart like this was a problem, and it might cause more problems, but Goku wanted to look at the bright side. So as he got up and shot off, he focused on the objective, which was saving those Buu had absorbed. He was sure that both Vegeta and 17 were doing the same.
Outside Buu…
Goson bent back, avoiding Buu's arm that stretched out past him before Buu swung his arm down, hitting Goson in the chest. The fusion was sent flying toward the ground, but with a smart use of Instant Transmission, he teleported above Buu and used his momentum to attack.
Slamming his fist into Buu's head, the monster was sent flying down as Goson cupped his hands and fired a large Kamehameha. Buu split apart and reformed a distance away to avoid the attack, but Goson wasn't going to let him get away as the Kamehameha split into several parts.
Each beam homed in on Buu as the monster was forced onto the defensive but multiple pierced the monster's body leaving several holes. Enraged, Buu let out a deafening roar creating a massive shockwave that knocked Goson back.
Buu then appeared behind Goson and joined his hands together to slam them in Goson's back, but the fusion warrior quickly spun around, blocking the attack. But the attack was so strong that it sent Goson flying.
Stretching out his arm Buu grabbed onto Goson's leg and swung him around, slamming him into the ground over and over before hurling him into the sky. Giving chase, Buu reared his arms back to continue his assault on Goson, but the fusion disappeared from eyesight.
Goson appeared behind Buu and planted his fist into the back of Buu's head before grabbing onto his antenna. The fusion warrior swung Buu around, crashing the monster into the ground several times before pulling him back to slam his fist into Buu's gut.
Not moving an inch from Goson's attack, it seemed Buu was strong enough to handle Super Saiyan. Upon realizing this, Goson wasted no time transforming into Super Saiyan 2 and digging his fingers into Buu's face.
"AHHH! LET GO!" Buu demanded as Goson pulled out Buu's face causing the pink monster to stretch out.
"Not a chance," Goson replied as his hand was covered by a Dragon Claw, tearing up Buu's face before piercing through his head.
Using his index and middle finger, Goson cut deep into Buu, making sure to cut important tendons for Buu's body. With Buu's body covered in cuts, Goson sent the monster skyrocketing down with a Buster Flare.
Before Buu hit the ground, the monster split into several pieces, shooting back up past Goson and reforming behind him. Buu attempted to return the favor of Goson's attack, but the fused warrior simply flung his fist back, hitting Buu in the face before spinning around, delivering a kick into Buu's stomach.
"You're too predictable." Goson spat as he fired energy from his foot, blasting a hole through Buu.
Buu's face twisted in a mix of anger and pain as he closed the hole around Goson's leg and began to spin around, taking the fused warrior on a ride. Eventually, Buu let go sending Goson flying to the ground.
Goson flipped onto his feet as he hit the ground, tearing it up as he skid across the earth. When he stopped, he shot back toward Buu, who puffed up his chest and let out an earth-shaking roar. The act stunned Goson as he covered his ears in pain from the loud roar.
With a large grin, Buu flew down toward Goson, extending his arm to deal a devastating blow to Goson. But just as he reached the fused warrior, Goson dropped his hands from his ears and ducked down to slam his fist into Buu's stomach.
It seems he had faked being affected by Buu's roar to catch the creature off guard. Catching onto Buu's extended arm, Goson cut it off before kicking Buu away. Rolling up the arm into a ball, Goson threw it back at Buu, hitting the monster in the head.
The attack only annoyed Buu as he absorbed his mass back into himself just Goson appeared in front of him and planted his fist into Buu's face. Not giving the monster an inch, Goson knocked him across the head before kneeing him in the gut, causing Buu to double over.
Goson then joined his hands and slammed Buu in the back of the head, sending Buu down before the fused warrior grabbed onto the monster's legs. Using Buu's elasticity Goson tied the monster's legs together before tossing Buu to the sky.
"HEY!" Buu shouted as he looked at his tangled legs.
As Buu restored his legs, Goson flew up, knocking into Buu's back before spinning around and slamming his elbow into Buu's stomach. Moving quick, he then locked Buu's head in his arm as he spun back around, throwing Buu to the ground.
It seemed that even though Buu was growing more accustomed to his new power, Goson was still two steps ahead of him. Not only can Goson transform to match Buu's power, but his fighting prowess is far greater than Buu's.
Though Buu had absorbed many fighters whose battle experience was now his, their fighting styles weren't suited for him except maybe Piccolo. This angered Buu as he stopped himself just above the ground, and he glared at Goson, who calmingly waited for Buu from above.
"Little bastard!" Buu shouted as he broke the ground below him before puffing up his chest and blowing out several small ghosts.
"Sick him, boys!" Buu ordered as the ghosts shot up toward Goson, who charged balls of energy in each hand.
"Splitting Flare X 2!" Goson yelled as he fired the two Splitting Flares hailing down several beams of energy.
Each beam pierced through Buu's ghosts causing several explosions in the sky. As the explosions ceased, a spiraling beam shot up so fast that Goson barely managed to dodge it as the smoke disappeared, revealing that Buu fired a Makankosappo.
"You're not getting away this time!" Buu snickered as he bent his finger, causing the beam to change directions and move back toward Goson.
The fusion warrior went to knock it out of the way before realizing it was too strong for him to do so. Buu had charged too much power in the attack, and Goson needed to either charge up his own attack to counter it or transform again to block it.
Or he could go with option number three. With a smirk, Goson flew around, avoiding Buu's attack while seemingly going in circles to the point that Buu was getting suspicious. It was only when Goson was surrounded by the Makankosappo that Buu realized what he was doing.
"He's going to make me hit myself with my own attack!" Buu realized as Goson placed his fingers on his forehead.
"I will not be fooled!" Buu shouted as he called his attack toward him, aiming for the spot behind his back where he expected Goson to appear.
"That's a bold statement coming from you." Goson spat as he dropped his hand from his forehead and charged his own attack.
"WHAT?!" Buu gasped as his beam hit the ground behind him, causing it to explode, knocking him forward.
"EAT THIS!" Goson demanded as he appeared in front of Buu.
"BUSTER KAMEHAMEHA!" Goson shouted as he released his deep blue attack engulfing Buu inside it as the beam split the ground apart, creating a massive canon as Goson diverted the rest into space.
When his attack finished, Buu was left in tatters breathing heavily as several chunks of his body fell off onto the ground. Satisfied, Goson hopped back, putting distance between him and Buu, waiting for him to regenerate.
Though he could probably finish off Buu here and now, he didn't want to kill those still trapped inside. Steam rose from Buu's head as he healed his body back to its normal state. Buu ground his teeth so hard it seemed as if they'd break at any moment.
With a loud roar, Buu released enormous amounts of energy, breaking apart the earth below him as Goson shielded himself from the gales of wind that blew by him. Knowing that the earth couldn't handle Buu's rage, Goson used Instant Transmission to take Buu away.
Grabbing onto Buu, he shot up to the upper atmosphere of the earth in order to minimize the damage Buu would have dealt. When they arrived, Buu drew his arms back and slammed them into Goson's chest, sending him flying backward.
"I WILL KILL YOU!" Buu shouted as he shot toward Goson.
Inside Buu…
Vegeta ran through the various passages inside Buu's body, looking for any sign of those Buu had absorbed. Unfortunately, Buu's body was like a maze, with every passage looking the same and no way to maintain a sense of direction.
It didn't deter the Saiyan Prince as he pushed forward to find those absorbed or, more specifically, Trunks. He felt responsible for this whole situation as his selfish actions were the reason Buu was able to break free from his seal.
Though he was given this chance to atone, Vegeta knew that it wouldn't keep him out of his punishment in hell in the afterlife. King Yemma had made it very clear that once this was over, his soul would be going to its original destination of hell.
There, his soul would be "cleaned," as King Yemma put it, and then reincarnated as someone new with no memory of his old life. Vegeta hated the idea of that, but if it was the price of his sins, then so be it.
"Damn, I can't even sense energy in this hell hole!" Vegeta cursed as he looked around before skidding to a stop.
"Great, just had to run back into you." Vegeta groaned as Goku turned the corner.
"Guess you haven't had any luck either," Goku commented after hearing Vegeta's reaction.
"No, I can't make heads or tails of this damn place," Vegeta replied as the world around them shook violently.
"And those two beating up Buu isn't helping much here," Vegeta added as he noticed new paths open up due to the damage Buu had taken.
"It's not like they have a choice." Goku pointed out as he spotted something out of the corner of his eye.
"Look out!" Goku shouted as he pushed Vegeta out of the way as an arm slammed into the wall where they had been standing.
"Damn, one of them found us!" Vegeta cursed as Buu walked down one of the many corridors.
"You have no chance to hide from us, you fools! You're in our body, after all." Buu smirked as he retracted his arm.
"Soon, you'll join your friends and grant me more power!" Buu laughed as he jumped toward the two Saiyans.
Goku and Vegeta powered up and fired a joint attack at Buu, who dodged the attack by dropping to the ground and merging with it. He reappeared behind the two grabbing at them only to miss as Goku and Vegeta ducked down.
Rolling over to the other side of the corridor, Vegeta was the first to respond as he fired a quick blast at Buu, who disappeared into the wall. The attack hit the wall creating a large hole as Buu came out from the ground behind him.
"Let's move!" Vegeta insisted as he jumped through the hole with Goku following him.
"I hadn't thought about shooting holes through the walls yet. I just assumed it would alert Buu of where I was, but since he already knows." Goku smirked as he fired his own blast to make a new hole.
The two Saiyans ran from Buu, blasting their way through the monster's body as one of Buu's multiple personalities chased after them. Annoyed that they were damaging his body, the Buu morphed his body, creating a large spherical chamber.
"You can't run from me now!" Buu cackled as Vegeta attempted to make a new hole to no avail.
"He's hardened the wall," Vegeta muttered as he and Goku turned to face Buu.
"Guess we'll have to fight then," Goku noted as he and Vegeta dropped to the ground.
"Can you transform into Super Saiyan 3?" Vegeta inquired as Goku nodded.
"I can, but it uses up a massive amount of energy. After using it earlier, I don't know how long I can hold onto it, especially in this place." Goku answered as Vegeta cursed under his breath.
"That being said, he probably can't use his full power in here without damaging himself and taking power away from the one fight Gohan and Jason." Goku pointed out as Vegeta nodded.
"Then let's not waste time!" Vegeta insisted as he and Goku charged toward Buu.
Vegeta kicked at Buu's head as Goku punched at Buu's gut, hoping one would hit him, but Buu simply bent his body out of shape to avoid their attacks. As they passed by him, Buu returned to normal before extending his left arm and whipping the two Saiyans into the wall.
Before they could recover, Buu grabbed onto their legs and tossed them across the chamber. The two maneuvered themselves to land on their feet before shooting off back toward Buu. This time they fired several blasts at Buu, who took the blasts unfazed.
Dropping down to the ground, the two Saiyans jumped from the ground landing a strong blow to Buu's chin and knocking him into the ceiling. But Buu simply squished his body like a spring and shot back down, hitting Goku and Vegeta away.
Quickly recovering, Goku fired a Kamehameha while Vegeta fired a Galick Gun, sandwiching Buu between the two beams. Buu held up his arms, defending himself from the two attacks as Goku and Vegeta poured more power into them.
Unlike before, this actually seemed to affect Buu as the attacks burned his skin and squished him. Not willing to let that happen, Buu shot back down to the floor, disappearing in it, forcing Goku and Vegeta to cut their attacks short as Buu appeared above them.
"Not bad. If you keep using attacks like that, I may be in trouble!" Buu laughed as each of his fingers glowed with energy.
"Now feel my attacks!" Buu shouted as he went to fire his attack, only to be interrupted by a large beam that broke through the wall tearing off half of Buu's body.
Goku and Vegeta managed to move out of the way, easily avoiding the beam as it tore through Buu, leaving a large hole above them. From the new opening, they could see the outside world where an unknown Super Saiyan was seen smirking.
"Who the hell is that?" Vegeta questioned as Goku noticed the Potara on his ears.
"He's a fusion! One between Gohan and Jason!" Goku revealed as Vegeta raised a brow.
"How do you…whatever, it doesn't matter, let's move!" Vegeta insisted as he flew through the hole made by the beam to continue exploring.
"Right!" Goku nodded as he followed Vegeta.
"I-I won't…let you…get away…." Buu stuttered as he regenerated from his wounds.
Outside Buu…
High above the sky of earth, Goson dodged Buu's attack as the monster shot passed him. Using his tail, he grabbed onto Buu's leg and threw him back in front, allowing Goson to fire several balls of Ki at Buu.
Puffing up his chest Buu took all the attacks head-on as they plunged into his body, but none pierced through his skin. He then threw the balls right back at Goson, who charged toward Buu, knocking them out of his way.
Returning to normal, Buu was ready for Goson as the two punched at one another, and their clashing fists caused a large explosion around them. The fusion warrior noticed that Buu was getting stronger again as he spun around and kicked Buu in the head.
Buu grabbed onto Goson's leg and pulled the fusion down, slamming his knee into Goson's gut. Goson responded by creating a ball of Ki and planting it in Buu's chest, blowing it apart as he flew back to get some distance.
Extending his arms, Buu retaliated by whipping them at Goson, who easily dodged each attack. As one passed over him, Buu grew out another arm allowing it to hit Goson's head. Staggered by the attack, Buu used the opportunity to hit him as many times as he could.
Eventually, Goson recovered and grabbed onto Buu's arms stopping the monster's assault. Before Buu could grow more arms, Goson pulled the two arms together and then tied them up in a knot. He then pulled Buu towards him, landing a blow to Buu's cheek.
Grabbing onto Buu's antenna, Goson continuously bashed Buu's face in over and over until Buu freed his arms. Buu quickly retracted them, hitting Goson in his back, stopping Goson's assault as Buu fired a Kaiser Flash point blank.
This sent Goson flying off as Buu gave chase. When Goson stopped himself, Buu had already caught up, slamming his fist into Goson's stomach. Grabbing onto Goson's head Buu pulled it into his knee before punching him in the chin sending him flying up.
"DIE!" Buu demanded as he fired a large beam at Goson.
"You wish!" Goson replied as he fired a Buster Flare splitting Buu's attack in two.
Upon seeing this, Buu put more power into his own attack, eventually matching Goson's in power. In response, Goson fired a second Buster Flare from his free hand, curving it to wrap around his original attack and then around Buu's to hit the monster by surprise.
When the attack crept toward Buu, it threatened to take the monster's head, but just before it could, Buu tucked it into his body like a turtle. The attack flew past Buu as Goson ended the attack and began a new one.
This time he converted his Buster Flare into a Mega Flare eclipsing Buu's attack and knocking Buu back down. Using Instant Transmission, Goson appeared just below Buu as he fell, allowing him to fire a Kamehameha into his back.
Morphing his body Buu made himself face Goson as he shot down toward the fusion. Spinning around, Goson avoided Buu's attack before planting his elbow in the monster's face. Without missing a beat, Goson reared his fist back before sending Buu flying back with a swift blow.
In retaliation, Buu fired several blasts of Ki from his fingertips, but Goson easily dodged each one. However, as Goson got closer, Buu pulled his hands back, revealing that all of the blasts he had fired were waiting behind Goson.
The attack slammed into Goson's back, causing a massive explosion. Buu took this chance and flew in to attack Goson, but his fist was caught by the fusion. In response, Goson slammed his fist into Buu's chin sending him flying up.
Or at least he believed it would, but Buu simply stretched his neck out before snapping it back to headbutt Goson. The attack created a sound that was comparable to a crack of thunder, disorientating Goson.
Rearing his fist back, Buu slammed his fist into Goson, attempting to send Goson flying away. But Goson stopped his momentum by wrapping his tail around Buu's arm. Spinning around, Goson slammed his fist into Buu's face.
He continued by kneeing Buu in the stomach as the monster whipped his antenna into Goson's face. The two then separated and spun around, kicking at one another only for their attacks to clash, creating a massive shockwave pushing the two apart.
As Goson was sent flying back, he used Instant Transmission to move in front of Buu's path allowing his momentum to land a devastating blow on Buu. Bending backward due to the blow, Buu wrapped his legs around Goson before tossing him away.
But Goson grabbed onto Buu's antenna and pulled the monster into his fist before flying back and firing a beam to send Buu flying off. The beam disorientated Buu for a bit before the monster let out an immense howl stopping the attack.
Steam shot out of Buu's head as the monster became enraged and let out another deafening roar that managed to even shake the earth below. Buu then cupped his hands, creating a blue ball of energy between them.
"KA!" Buu shouted as Goson realized what he was doing and began to charge the same attack.
"ME!" Goson yelled, charging his own attack making sure to match or go beyond the power of Buu's.
"HA!" Buu continued as the sky lit up from the two charging attacks, which could easily eviscerate the planet below.
"ME!" Goson went on as the ball expanded in size due to the amount of power he was pouring into it.
"HA!!!" Buu and Goson shouted in unison as they fired their respective Kamehameha.
When the beams made contact, they stood at equilibrium before Goson slowly began to overpower Buu's attack. Not willing to be outdone, the monstrosity poured more power into his own Kamehameha, but it seemed fruitless.
"It seems I have no choice," Buu muttered as his body began to shift.
Inside Buu…
17 bounced off the walls using his speed to keep ahead of the Buu that chased after him. Knowing he wasn't strong enough, keeping ahead of Buu to find those he had absorbed was his top priority.
But Buu was able to move freely through his own flesh, blocking 17's path at each turn. However, this didn't deter the android as he kept on the move. Eventually, when he landed on another wall, Buu came out grabbing at 17.
"Gotcha!" Buu laughed as he wrapped his arms around 17. However, 17 stopped him from grabbing him with a barrier before kicking off Buu's face.
"You're a persistent one, aren't you?" 17 spat as he landed in front of Buu.
"This coming from the invader inside my body." Buu cackled as he exited the wall of flesh.
"How about you be a good boy and just allow me to fully absorb you." Buu insisted as 17 scoffed.
"Being absorbed once was enough." 17 replied as he jumped back and continued to run off.
"As if that would work." Buu snickered as he disappeared into the floor.
Feeling 17 run through his body, Buu moved where he felt 17 was going, based on where the android jumped for the last time. Jumping out of the wall, Buu went to tackle 17 as he rushed toward the surprised android.
With a large grin, Buu went to grab onto 17 only to realize his own mistake as he was trapped inside a barrier. Hitting his head against the barrier's walls, he was stuck within a sphere as the barrier in front of him that had been casting 17's reflection disappeared.
"I've wanted to try that trick out for a while now." 17 smirked as he turned a corner revealing himself to Buu.
"I figured you were using the feelings of my steps from touching your body to find me, so all it took was to make something you couldn't feel and float a little bit to fool you." 17 explained as he kicked the ball carrying Buu.
"Not get lost." 17 insisted as he sent Buu bouncing away.
"This won't stop me!" Buu shouted as he disappeared down the corridor.
Breaking free of the ball, Buu began to merge with the wall to catch up with 17, but something unexpected happened. Instead of simply moving through his own body, he felt his consciousness and power be forcefully taken from him.
"Wha- No, the main personality is pulling me back!" Buu gasped as he was fully assimilated into Buu.
Unaware of this, 17 continued to run, hoping his stunt gave him a little more time to find those who had been absorbed. As he turned a corner, 17 found himself in a large chamber where he stood still in shock.
"What is this?" 17 questioned as he gazed at what seemed to be a pitch-black tumor-like heart.
Meanwhile…
Goku and Vegeta continued to run from Buu as they ran around what felt like circles, fruitlessly looking for their friends and family who were absorbed. But no matter where they went or what path they took, everything looked the same, and Buu was getting closer and closer.
"Tsk, this is getting us nowhere." Vegeta cursed as he realized they couldn't run from Buu and look for their friends.
"Kakarot, you go on ahead." Vegeta insisted as he stopped running.
"Wha-What are you talking about, Vegeta? We can't stop here!" Goku replied as Vegeta looked at Goku in the eyes.
"I know that, but we can't make good progress like this. Go on ahead without me. I'll hold off, Buu." Vegeta ordered as Goku went wide-eyed.
"You can't be serious! We barely managed to keep up with him together. What makes you think you can do it alone?!" Goku questioned as Vegeta turned around.
"Nothing. I know I can't beat Buu. But I can buy time. So quit wasting it and find everyone. Get them…get Trunks out of here." Vegeta insisted as he looked over his shoulder.
"You realize that if Buu kills you, then there's no coming back. You'll simply cease to be." Goku pointed out as Vegeta chuckled.
"I've been prepared for that outcome since I came back to Earth," Vegeta stated as he faced forward once more.
"Now get lost before I kick you out of here." Vegeta spat as Goku nodded.
"Even though it may never happen, let's see each other again, Vegeta, and have another rematch," Goku smirked as he ran off, leaving Vegeta.
"Optimistic till the very end as always." Vegeta laughed, cracking a smile of his own as Buu finally came into view.
"All alone? Don't tell me you want to fight me like this again?" Buu questioned as Vegeta powered up.
"Oh, or are you going to blow yourself up again? Because I still owe you for that." Buu growled, remembering how Vegeta blew him apart.
"Let's see you try." Vegeta spat as he took his fighting stance before shooting off toward Buu.
But Buu immediately knocked the Saiyan Prince aside, looking to pass him and get to Goku so he could take care of them together. However, Vegeta was not going to allow himself to be ignored nor allow Buu to get to Goku.
"Don't ignore me!" Vegeta shouted as he placed the bottom of his hands together.
"FINAL FLASH!" Vegeta cried as he fired his attack into Buu's back.
The attack sent Buu into the wall and burned the monster's flesh, causing the surrounding area to shake slightly. When his attack stopped, Buu morphed his body so that he could face Vegeta once more.
"Fine, I'll absorb you first, then Vegeta," Buu stated as he rushed toward the Saiyan Prince.
Vegeta just barely dodged the attack before joining his hands and hammering down on the back of Buu's head. However, this allowed Buu to wrap his antenna around Vegeta's arms and throw him down the corridor.
Rolling on the floor, Vegeta flipped back onto his feet to fight back, but he was too slow as Buu had already chased after him slamming his fist in the Prince's face. This sent Vegeta crashing into the nearby wall as Buu continued by planting his fist into Vegeta's Gut knocking the air out of him.
"Hmph, what a disappointment." Buu scoffed as Vegeta fell to his knees, coughing and gasping for air.
Scowling, Vegeta released a burst of power before shooting up and punching Buu in the chin knocking him into the ceiling. Buu compressed himself like a spring and shot back down, knocking Vegeta to the ground.
"It's going to take a lot more than that to beat me." Vegeta laughed as he coughed up blood and stood back up.
Outside Buu…
With a smile, Buu began to pour even more power into his attack, starting to overcome Goson's own power, much to the fusion's surprise. Buu had taken back one of his separate personalities to bring out more of his power that he had distributed to them.
Since he did this, he also gained knowledge of the personality he absorbed, knowing that the three he had absorbed managed to prevent full integration. He would need to kill Goson fast or absorb him so he could take care of the problem inside.
As Buu released more and more of his power, Goson was forced to release more of his own until he reached the peak of the powers Super Saiyan 2 could allow. But it wasn't enough as Buu continued to overpower his attack.
The two beams struggled against one another in the sky with such force that the energy shook not only the earth but the nearby planets also felt their power. Even the sun had part of its surface blown away by the sheer force of the clashing beams.
"I've got no choice," Goson muttered as his tail twitched before changing from yellow to red.
Suddenly Goson exploded in power, causing his attack to completely overpower an unprepared Buu. When the attack died down, Buu was severely burned and damaged, but he managed to keep himself in one piece.
Buu scowled as he stared at Goson, who had transformed into Super Saiyan 4. However, something was different about the form compared to when Jason used it. His long hair, which would usually remain its natural black color, was now a bright red-orange.
Goson's energy was still orange, much like Jason's, but it contained a red hue, and it was filled with what seemed to be shining glitter stars. Before Buu could get a good look, Goson disappeared before reappearing in front of him, planting his fist into Buu's stomach.
The attack punctured Buu's stomach creating a large hole that erased everything that had once been there. Still reeling from Goson's attack, the fusion raised his right hand over Buu's face before flicking him with his finger sending the monster flying away.
Using Instant Transmission, Goson intercepted Buu and attacked him from behind. However, Buu split himself apart before reforming behind the fusion hitting him in the back with all his strength. But the fusion didn't budge, only turning his head to look at Buu with a disinterested stare.
"Is that all your power has to show?" Goson questioned as Buu shook in the fusion's gaze.
Just like when Jason and Gohan first fused and flexed their energy, Goson's gaze sent shivers down Buu's spine. The strength and confidence of the stare were all Buu needed to know that he was outclassed.
But it wasn't going to stop him as he disappeared and reappeared in front of Goson, hitting him in the chest to the same result. He continued this assault, disappearing and reappearing all over, landing several blows to Goson, who didn't move an inch allowing Buu to hit him.
Exhausted, Buu stopped his assault, seeing a completely unfazed Goson. It was as if nothing had happened to him. Suddenly Goson disappeared from Buu's sight, causing Buu to panic as he looked back and forth, looking for him, only for him to appear behind Buu.
"If you let go of those you've absorbed now, I'll grant you a quick death," Goson assured as Buu spun around, only for Goson to grab onto Buu's head, beginning to crush it.
"GRRRGGHH!" Buu growled as he reshaped his head to escape Goson's grasp before creating some distance between them.
"Don't get cocky!" Buu shouted as he tossed a Kienzan at Goson.
Goson simply raised his left hand and grabbed onto the Kienzan before throwing the attack back at a surprised Buu, who moved out of the way. But one step ahead of him, Goson appeared in Buu's path, hitting him back down.
The attack blew Buu apart, and just as he reformed, Goson landed another attack blowing him apart once more. Buu was left helpless as Goson completely overpowered him, making him feel as helpless as he made everyone else feel when he first woke up.
"Ready to give up?" Goson asked as he grabbed Buu's antenna and held the monster up so he could look at his face.
In response, Buu gathered energy in his mouth before firing it point blank into Goson's, creating a massive beam that would have incinerated anyone else. But when the smoke cleared, Goson was utterly unfazed by the attack, much to Buu's dismay.
"Such attacks can't hurt me in my current form. I didn't want to use it because my friends and family are still inside, but I'll compromise by making your death slow and painful." Goson stated as he sliced off one of Buu's legs.
"So, what's it going to be?" Goson inquired as Buu grit his teeth and blew out steam from his head in anger.
But suddenly, Buu began to convulse and scream out, seeming to be in a lot of pain. Goson let go and moved back just to be safe as Buu started to twist and turn in unnatural ways. Buu's energy was doing the same as it changed erratically, both rising and falling over and over.
Unable to ascertain whether what was happening to Buu was good or bad, Goson stood on standby, ready to attack the moment Buu's situation changed. However, Goson was still confused about what caused this to happen as he didn't believe it was his own doing.
Inside Buu…
Moments Earlier…
Goku had been running through the fleshy corridors of Buu's body for several minutes, looking for any sign of those he absorbed. After feeling like he had been running in circles, he had tried to blow a hole in the walls, only for them to be unscathed.
It seemed that Buu's body had hardened, making it harder to break, making things harder for him to rescue everyone. This changed when everything began to shake violently around him, most likely due to the fight outside.
However, this time it was far worse than when he and Vegeta had been trapped in the chamber. The fusion between Gohan and Jason must be holding nothing back at this point as Goku was flung around the corridor.
"Ow! Can't he cool it off a little?" Goku wondered as he rubbed his butt.
Suddenly the walls around him began to tear apart as gaps to the world outside formed. Avoiding falling out, Goku looked around until he finally saw what he had been looking for since he entered Buu.
"There they are!" Goku gasped as he spotted the ones absorbed through several gaps in the flesh that were closing up.
"I have to move!" Goku hissed as he flew through the gaps, which slowly began to close up, threatening to cut Goku off from his shortcut.
With how far they were and how separated their section was from Goku's, it would take him too long to get to them any other way. So the Saiyan sped through the gaps doing his best to get there before they closed.
Eventually, he just made it to the chamber they were contained in as the gaps closed behind him. Landing on the ground, Goku took a quick breather before looking at his friends and family. They seemed to be encased in pods of Buu's flesh attached to the floor and ceiling, and only their faces were showing.
Wasting no time, Goku grabbed onto the nearest pod, which held Piccolo, and attempted to pull him free to no avail. So he grabbed onto the cords that held the pod up and tried to rip him free that way, but he still couldn't free him.
"Guess I'll just have to cut them out," Goku smirked as the wall behind him burst open, and Vegeta landed next to him.
"Vegeta!" Goku gasped as he ran to his injured friend.
"Don't bother with me! Get the others out of here! He'll weaken if we get them out!" Vegeta insisted as Goku nodded.
Turning around, Goku went to free the others, but Buu stood in his way, having moved through the flesh of his body. Buu sent Goku and Vegeta flying back with a thrust of his hand, sending them crashing into a wall.
"Damn, I'm spent." Vegeta coughed as Goku helped him up.
"Then rest up. I'll hold off Buu while you try to free the others." Goku replied as he let go of Vegeta and stepped forth to face Buu.
"What makes you think that you'll be able to achieve that?" Buu questioned, knowing that he could easily fight off Goku while stopping Vegeta from saving their companions.
"We'll see about that," Goku replied as he prepared himself.
"HAAAA!" Goku screamed as he transformed into Super Saiyan 3.
"This is the final stretch. I don't know how long I can hold onto this form so let's make this quick." Goku muttered as he glared at Buu.
Though his gaze was at Buu, the message had been for Vegeta, letting him know that there wasn't much time that Goku could buy him. Though he knew that Goku could buy him more time than he had bought for him.
Goku shot toward Buu, throwing a punch at the monster's head, only for Buu to duck down and uppercut Goku in his chin. The attack never reached Goku, though, as he managed to grab onto Buu's arm before slamming his head into Buu's.
As Buu reared in pain, actually feeling the attack, Goku took the chance for a follow-up. Goku planted his knee into Buu's gut knocking the monster into the wall. The Saiyan quickly followed, charging a Kamehameha.
But Buu simply disappeared inside his own flesh before reappearing above Goku, knocking the Saiyan down. Extending out his arms, Goku landed on all fours before jumping back to his feet to avoid Buu's next attack.
As Buu's fist hit the ground, the monster extended his leg, kicking Goku in the chest and sending him flying back. Extending his arm, Buu whipped at Goku, who crossed his arms to block the attack. When the attack hit, he felt the pain reverberate through his body as Buu grabbed onto his Gi.
Buu threw Goku across the room, but Goku grabbed Buu's arm, stopping the monster from throwing him as he landed on his feet. The Saiyan attempted to use Buu's extended arm to throw the beast, but Buu stopped this by fusing his feet to the ground.
Letting go of Buu, Goku jumped back before firing off a quick Kamehameha, which Buu caught using both of his hands. Pushing the attack away, Buu closed the distance between him and Goku, slamming into Goku's stomach.
The Saiyan managed to just keep Buu back, but the monster hit him in the face with his antenna knocking Goku back. As the two fought, Vegeta managed to recover enough to attempt to free Trunks from the pod he was encased in.
However, just like Goku, he was unable to tear them out, forcing him to attempt to cut them down. But it seemed that Buu was ready for Vegeta as he spun around and shot one of his arms out, knocking Vegeta aside.
"Don't think I'm not aware of your efforts, Vegeta!" Buu laughed as Vegeta got back to his feet.
"Bastard." Vegeta hissed as he glared at Buu.
"Those are mine, so don't touch them." Buu spat as he bent his body out of shape to avoid Goku's attack.
"They aren't things!" Goku shouted as he spun around and kicked at Buu's deformed body.
"It doesn't matter!" Buu replied as he reverted his body back to normal and hit Goku away.
"They belong to me, and there's nothing you can do about it!" Buu declared as footsteps could be heard from behind him.
"I wouldn't say that." 17 stated, catching everyone's attention as he stood there holding a large black heart contained in a barrier.
"Can I assume that this is important to you?" 17 asked as he held up the black heart.
"AHHH, LEAVE THAT ALONE!" Buu cried as he lunged toward 17, who jumped out of his reach.
"I thought so. I was surprised that removing it had no effect on you, but after seeing your reaction, I think I will destroy it." 17 theorized as Buu extended his arm towards 17, only for Goku to knock it away.
"Do it now!" Goku insisted as 17 nodded.
"You don't have to tell me twice. I just needed confirmation from the monster." 17 replied as he began to crush the black heart.
Buu howled in pain as he attempted to stop 17, but Goku and Vegeta intercepted him, keeping him away as 17 continued to crush Buu's heart. Eventually, after much effort, 17 managed to crush Buu's heart, causing the Buu in front of them to let out one last cry before disappearing into the ground.
"Did that kill him?" Goku wondered as he powered down, not wanting to waste more energy than he already had.
"If it did, then why is his body still around?" Vegeta questioned as he walked over to the pods.
"Let's get them out of here." Vegeta insisted as he reached for Trunk's pod. But before he could touch it, the area around them began to shake and morph violently.
"What the?!" Goku gasped as everyone looked around at Buu's distorting body.
"We need to get out of here!" 17 shouted as he cut 18 free and grabbed onto her pod.
Goku and Vegeta nodded as they cut the rest of the pods down and rushed out of the room, which collapsed in on itself. With their friends and family in hand, they rushed through Buu's body, trying to find a way out.
"Dammit, Kakarot, why didn't you think of a way out before suggesting this plan?!" Vegeta cursed as they continued to run through the contorting paths.
"It's not my fault! I assumed we could blast our way out!" Goku replied, noting that they could no longer break through the walls of Buu's flesh.
"We'll need to figure out how we'll escape fast if we want to survive." 17 stated as the corridor they ran through collapsed in front of them, forcing them down another path.
This continued for minutes on end, looking for a way out, avoiding being crushed by the collapsing and twisting corridors of Buu's body. Until they found several geysers that shot out steam upward.
"What is this?" Goku wondered as he looked at the closed hole above.
"Didn't he blow steam out of the top of his head?" 17 asked as Goku and Vegeta looked at him.
"He did! This is our way out!" Goku smiled as he watched the steam shoot out.
"I doubt this is safe," Vegeta commented as 17 walked over and created a small spherical barrier around himself with an opening for Goku and Vegeta.
"This should do it." 17 smirked as Goku and Vegeta entered, ensuring enough room for those still trapped in a pod before steam built up and shot them through the hole.
Outside Buu Present Time…
"Oh, so you three caused that," Goson commented as Goku, Vegeta, and 17 appeared out of Buu's head, carrying those he absorbed.
"Who the hell are you?" 17 questioned as he looked at Goson, confused.
"He's the fusion between Gohan and Jason," Goku answered as Goson nodded.
"That's right. I presume you guys did that to Buu?" Goson replied, pointing toward the convulsing monster.
"That's right, but even without a heart, he's still alive, so how about you finish him off." Vegeta insisted as Goson flew in front.
"With pleasure," Goson stated as he cupped his hands together.
"BUSTER…" Goson began as he charged up the dark blue energy.
"KAMEHA-" Goson continued as the energy grew larger before disappearing completely as the fusion began to glow.
"What's happening?!" Vegeta questioned as Goson split into Gohan and Jason.
"What?!" Gohan gasped as he looked at Jason, who was equally confused.
"Don't tell me we used too much…energy…?" Jason wondered as he suddenly went limp, and he and Gohan fell down to the earth below.
It seemed that they had expended too much energy keeping Buu at bay as Goson and especially when they transformed into Super Saiyan 4. Because of that, the fusion ended, draining them of all their energy, and making them unable to fly.
"Oh no!" Goku cried as he used Instant Transmission to drop off Goten and Piccolo at the Lookout before disappearing, confusing those present and reappearing to catch Gohan and Jason.
"Are you two okay?" Goku asked as he held the two up.
"Yeah, just…tired," Jason answered, barely clinging to consciousness.
"We used too much energy and defused. You guys have to finish Buu off now." Gohan explained as Goku nodded before looking at Buu, who was still convulsing.
"Do we even need to kill Buu? It seems like he's dying already?" 17 questioned as he and Vegeta floated down to their level.
"Something's not right here," Vegeta commented as he glared at Buu.
"What's wrong, Vegeta?" Goku questioned as the Saiyan Prince turned to face him.
"Don't tell me you haven't noticed Kakarot? Buu's energy hasn't dropped at all, even though we took out everyone he absorbed!" Vegeta pointed out as Goku returned his attention to Buu.
"You're right. In fact, it's growing!" Goku gasped as everyone turned to Buu, who stopped convulsing and began to change.
"What's happening?" Goku questioned as the Supreme Kai chimed in.
"Buu is transforming! What did you do while inside of him?!" Shin inquired as he could not look inside for a prolonged period of time with the crystal ball.
"17 found a black heart and destroyed it! We thought it would kill him!" Goku explained as Buu continued to change.
"There's no way a monster like Buu needs a heart to live," Shin replied, confusing everyone.
"Then what did I destroy?" 17 inquired as Shin went silent for a moment.
"If I had to guess…I'd say it was the fail-safe." Shin answered as his voice dripped with nervousness.
"A fail-safe against what?" Vegeta questioned as he watched Buu, unable to do anything as his power wouldn't be enough.
"Bibidi was no fool. Before he sealed Buu, he had attempted to control him by giving some sort of seal or, in this case, the heart." Shin began as Buu began to shrink.
"This 'pacified' Buu in a sense as he became less wild and a little more focused on his destruction. But with it gone, that means Buu is going back to his old form." Shin finished as everyone looked at Buu with sweat dripping down them.
"Why didn't you mention this before?" Jason questioned, annoyed at not knowing this information.
"Because I didn't know what the fail-safe was until now, and I hoped you would have killed Buu by now," Shin answered as Buu began to stabilize.
"But now none of us are strong enough to do anything to him," Gohan muttered as Buu finished changing.
Buu was now significantly smaller than he was before, no bigger than a child. His antenna had shrunk now closer to his head. The monster's posture was far worse than before, hunching over as he gazed at the fighters before him.
His gaze was cold and sent shivers down their spines just as Goson had done to Buu not too long ago. Puffing up his chest, Buu let out a deafening howl blowing the fighters back as it shook the earth below.
"What are we going to do…against that?" Jason questioned as he felt the very pressure of Buu's new power, making him want to vomit in pain.
Goku, Vegeta, and 17 successfully complete their mission saving everyone who Buu had absorbed after destroying his 'heart'! But just before Goson can place the finishing blow on Buu, he is split back into Gohan and Jason, having used too much power during his battle and in Super Saiyan 4.
With his heart that acted as a fail-safe gone, Buu has transformed into a child-like appearance with power enough to shake the earth with just a scream. Now that Jason and Gohan are out of Ki, will our heroes be able to stop this monstrosity? Find out Next Time!

Sorry for the wait, guys, but I finally got this chapter done. It took me a while to get the fight scenes done as I wanted to extend the fight between Goson and Buu to make it seem even between the two at some points until Goson finally used SSJ4 to completely overpower Buu.
Though it was short because of how much power it drained from Goson, it made Goson untouchable to Buu, something I found fun to write, even if it was short. It was also fun writing the scenes inside Buu though it was hard describing everyone moving around Buu's body.
But now Buu has transformed into Kid Buu due to his dark heart being destroyed. Since there wasn't a Fat Buu to do that, I decided to give him an evil heart that would turn him into Kid Buu if destroyed. I felt it appropriate because Kid Buu seems more like a monster with no heart while Super Buu has an evil one in a sense (At least that's how I see it).
Now that Kid Buu has arrived, that means there won't be much left in this arc. Next chapter, we'll be capping this arc off once and for all. Also, about Goson turning into SSJ4, yes, it is the same look as Gogeta in SSJ4. I always loved that look better than Vegito's look in the form, so I used it here. Plus, it also has another meaning that will be explored later.
Also, quick tangent, did anyone see the new Dragon Ball movie? Because I did, and it was awesome! Definitely, the best movie experience I've had in a while and one of the best Dragon Ball movies I've seen. I won't talk about it much since I don't want to spoil the movie for those who haven't seen it, but I definitely recommend you give it a watch.

MattMatrix – Hope you enjoyed what Goson had to offer here. Though he wasn't there for long, I made him leave a definite mark on how he dealt with Buu. But no, he wasn't in a permanent state of Ultimate because both Gohan and Jason powered down to base before fusing. But he didn't need it as he still overpowered Buu.
I can definitely understand the comparison as they can be argued to be very similar. Especially since I gave Jason the Primal State, which was his own version of Broly's Wrath Form, so they do have similarities. Though I don't plan to write about the Broly movie, I might think about it as a What-If someday.
