"..."As our heroes were ready after the Cyllage underwater excursion, Ash felt more ready to be for his gym battle with Grant!
"We're finally in Cyllage City!" Serena said as Clemont was a bit exhausted but they were all here at last.
"Yay, we made it!" Bonnie cheerily said as they were here finally.
"Finally! Took us a long time from Santalune to Cyllage, but it was well worth it!" Alex said as it was finally the time for them to come and battle grant, ash would indeed go first.
"There it is, Pikachu." Ash said as he was ready to challenge Grant.
"We're here at last!" Pikachu exclaimed, he was happy they made it to Cyllage City after a bit of a long journey.
"Can't wait to go and challenge Grant so we can beat the Cyllage City Gym." Ash said as he was so eager to battle Grant and earn his second gym badge.
"I'm so excited for this!" Pikachu exclaimed as he was so happy and eager to battle Grant.
"Of course, Ash is sure that he'll win." Serena said as she knew Ash was so eager.
"Can you blame him? He's a super psyched up guy." Alex said, Ash was a psyched up person to have a battle with. As lots of people noticed Ash's fiery spirit.
A long journey and lots of training has brought Ash, Alex and the rest of our heroes to their second Gym badge challenge in Cyllage City. But... With all the training they have done, will it be enough?

EPISODE 26: Climbing the Walls! (Ash)
EPISODE 26: A Rocky Gym Battle! (Alex)
"Hey you guys. Let's step on it!" Ash said as he was in a hurry to go and battle grant so he can win his next gym badge.
"Come on!" Pikachu said as they both began to hurry to the location. But they were going the wrong way!
"Hold on... Where is... the gym?" Alex asked as Serena was surprised on Ash's sense of directions.
"Huh?! Ash, where are you going?! The gym isn't that way!" Serena said as Ash came to a grinding stop, he was confused now.
"It isn't?" Ash said as Serena turned her head to the mountain as the GPS told her where the Gym was at.
"Ah. It looks like it's way up there on that mountain." Serena said as she saw the location thanks to that GPS.
"U-U-Up there?!" Alex stuttered out as he was surprised that a gym was on a mountain.
Cyllage City Entrance
"..." Everyone entered inside as it was a dark hallway as they were walking along to the next part and then they were coming to a small light that came at the end of the tunnel.
"Huh...Wow. " Ash said as he was wondering where the light was.
"Whoah..." Ash and Alex said as they approached a rocky mountain with rock climbing skills as they would see what was up.
"That's so huge! Look at it! Is this what Grant does every day?" Alex said as he looked around to see what Grant does for his time.
Cyllage City Gym
"Wow! So this is the Cyllage City Gym! I think..." Serena said as she saw at the gym logo as they looked inside.
"This is a gym?" Ash said as he looked around.
"Wowzers." Pikachu said as he was amazed as Bonnie noticed the colored rocks on the gym walls.
"Look at the pretty colors." Bonnie said as she was enjoying it.
"This feels like a rock climbing event they share in gyms." Alex said as he wondered about this feeling like a event, Ash looked up and noticed Grant climbing that wall!
"Whoah. Grant, It's Ash! I'm here to challenge you to a gym battle! Are you ready?" Ash said as he was surprised to see Grant and then called out to him from the bottom of the mountain, which got Grant's attention as he turned to see the group.
"Sure. No problem. I've been waiting for you both to show up! Climb on up." Grant said as he accepted right away and offered.
"Uh.. Climb what?" Ash asked, what did Grant mean?
"What do you want us to climb?" Pikachu said as he looked at Ash.
"This wall, of course. The battlefield's up on the top." Grant said as the group was startled to hear, the huge wall they had to climb at the top was the battlefield!?
"HUH?! OH..." The group cried out as they felt shocked as Ash was more eager to do this in front of Grant.
"NO way!" Serena cried out as she didn't know if she wanted those huge mountain walls like grant is doing.
"YES Way!" Bonnie cheered excitingly as Alex didn't know.
"YOU EXPECT US TO CLIMB ALL THIS?" Alex shouted from the ground as he was scared too all else from this.
"You see, My Cyllage gym specializes in Rock-Type Pokemon. I feel like all challengers should experience my great love of rocks. So I designed the gym to accomplish that by allowing you to climb up on your own power." Grant said as he explained about the gym and his Pokemon and what he did to design it, this got the group stumped but Ash had his eyes dazzled in joy. Clemont and Serena nervously sweatdropped on Grant's decision.
"You don't mean all of us, do you?!" Serena staggered out as she didn't think they would all climb up the wall.
"No. not to worry. We've got an elevator over there as well. The choice is yours." Grant said as he pointed to a side of the mountain that had an elevator.
"Oh.. Man... I.. Hoof." Alex said as he didn't know what to do, he felt stumped what Grant said.
"Now, just because you don't scale the wall doesn't mean I won't accept your challenge." Grant said as he looked down at the group and offered.
"What are you gonna do, Ash?" Serena asked as Ash had a confidant look on his face as he knew what he wanted to do.
"Climb it, of course." Ash said as he knew what he wanted to do. As he grabbed his cap and turned it around.
"WHAT?" Alex cried out as the group was startled on Ash's choices.
"Ready to go, Pikachu?" Ash said as he looked at Pikachu with determination, rubbing his knees and calf to get them loose.
"Ready as always!" Pikachu said as he got onto the shoulders of Ash.
"Oooh.. I don't know if I got the guts inside for this." Alex said as he was unsure if Ash would fall of keep himself steady.
"Oh.." Serena, Clemont and Bonnie gasped as they didn't know if Ash would fall before scaling the top of the mountain.
"Ash, I like your spirit. I'll wait for you at the top." Grant said as he loved Ash's Spirit and decided to wait as he reached the top.
"Come on, let's not upset him." Pikachu said as he knew they should not wait any longer.
"Let's go." Ash said as he looked at Pikachu.
"Huh. Let's go!" Bonnie gasped as she then took her turn suddenly to climb but Clemont didn't think so.
"Wait, Bonnie! We're going to take the elevator." Clemont said as he grabbed Bonnie as she tried to squirm free for a moment.
"Hmph." Bonnie pouted as she crossed her legs and arms in a cris-cross motion, upset that he brother was holding her back.
"..." Grant had reached the top of the Climb as Ash was trying to find his footing as he slipped, leaving his feet dangled. Scaring the group as Ash suddenly got himself a snap back together and found his footing again as the group sighed in relief.
"Look up. He's there." Pikachu said as he pointed up, Ash looked up for a moment.
"..." Ash noticed Grant looking down at him as he took a deep breath, Ash managed to slowly climb up as pikachu got off of him, then he made it all the way to the top as he was catching his breath.
"Hey there, Grant. I made it." Ash gasped out as he was tired but it was well-worth it to climb.
"Well done, Ash." Grant said as he was impressed with Ash taking on the challenge to climb up.
"Huff.. Huff..." Ash panted as he still tried to catch his breath. His friends rode up the elevator to see on the sidelines.
"So, what were you thinking about when you were climbing?" Grant said as he looked at Ash. What did he think.
"Huh? Uh, Well. I wasn't thinking about anything." Ash stuttered as he was not really thinking about anything.
"That's perfect. So what were you looking at?" Grant said as he asked Ash another question.
"Huh..? Hmm. Straight up. Where I was going." Ash said as he pointed up with his finger, telling grant his direction.
"Excellent. That means you achieved a state of enlightenment. Your mind was crystal clear. Unclouded." Grant said as he was proud of Ash for focusing ahead of time and letting him get ready to battle.
"Now that you've successfully conquered the wall, the next wall you're going to conquer is me. And that's what you came here for, challenger." Grant said as he knew Ash cleared the first hurdle, now it was time to clear the second bigger one.
"Right." Ash said as he was ready now.
"That's right." Pikachu said as he was prepared but Alex had to ask something.
"A question. Why do you have challengers climb the wall?" Alex asked the question to grant which he smiled.
"So that inner peace could be achieved." Grant answered which confused the group.
"Inner peace?" Serena said, she didn't know what inner peace meant.
"Why... Inner peace?" Alex asked as he was puzzled.
"What's that mean?" Bonnie asked, what was Inner peace about.
"Scaling the wall. It's the best way I know to achieve a state of enlightment. When i do that, I forget about everything else and the only thing I concentrate on is reaching the top. That is my one and only goal. The only thing I want is to arrive at my destination. As long as there is a wall for me to climb, I will rise to the challenge. I want challengers to achieve the same state of enlightenment when they climb up here to me." Grant explained to his story as he knew he wanted others to be like him and rise up to battle and grow to their perfect standards to help and battle each other. As a wall to climb.
"Looks like I should do it. In order to find my ways of finding family. If I find them, I know I reached the top." Alex said as know he should follow the footsteps now.
"Ah.." Ash said as he and Pikachu looked at each with determined faces.
"..." Ash and Grant stood on opposite sides of the battlefield from each other as the top of the mountain, the pounding waterfalls pouring from the mountain made it more clear as both sides were ready.
"Now, the battle between Grant. The cyllage city gym leader and Ash, the challenger from Pallet town is about to begin. The gym leader will have the use of only two Pokemon. While the challenger will have to use all of their Pokemon that he currently has in possession." The referee declared as the battle was going to begin, Ash was allowed to use his entire team while Grant was only allowed to use two.
"I can use all of them?" Ash said, being surprised he can use all of his Pokemon.
"Wait, really? I can use all three of my Pokemon, When I challenge you afterwards? How..?" Alex said as he was puzzled on hearing it.
"That's how the Cyllage Gym operates. I want to see everything that trainers and their Pokemon can do." Grant said as he knew about the operation of the Cyllage City gym.
"Oh. Got it! Right now, I've got three Pokemon. We'll work together and do our best and then i'll win that gym badge." Ash said as he knew that he got three Pokemon against two, which maybe he had a slight advantage.
"To be honest, Magnemite seems new to me but I feel like maybe I should've caught something like a clauncher to help me." Alex said as he knew he should've gotten another Pokemon.
"Maybe next time." Bonnie said as she looked at Alex.
"Only the challenger will be allowed to substitute Pokemon during the battle. So if you please, bring out your Pokemon." The referee said as he told that Ash could only change his Pokemon.
"I've really been looking forward to your challenge since I first saw you battle back at the Battle Chateau. Now let's see which Pokemon you plan to use to scale the wall, and that wall is me." Grant said as he was ready for the battle that was about to come since the Chateau.
"Here we go!" Alex said as he was excited.
"Onix, let's go!" Grant said as he tossed a Pokeball and out came Onix.
"Grrroaaahhh!" Onix roared up in the sky as Ash smiled and knew what to do.
"So he's gonna use Onix first. In that case, i'll do this." Ash said as he knew what Grant would do, he got out Froakie's Poke Ball.
"Froakie, I choose you!" Ash said as he tossed a Poke Ball.
"Here we go!" Froakie said as he got ready to battle.
"Hey, there's froakie." Bonnie said as she saw the Pokemon ready.
"Good call by ash." Alex said as it was a type advantage.
"Water-types have an advantage over rock types. Ash has a sound strategy." Clemont said as he seemed like Ash had a plan, Serena held her hands in hopes.
"Serena, is something wrong? You look worried." Bonnie said as she noticed something wrong with Serena.
"Huh?" Serena said as she looked over to the group.
"Is something going on in your mind? You do look worried to me." Alex said as he noticed she was worried.
"Bonnie's right. You do look worried. Are you nervous?" Clemont said as he sided with Bonnie and Alex.
"Me, nervous!? Huh, not at all." Serena said as she tried to brush it off like nothing.
"Uh. Yeah, A little nervous to me." Alex said as it got Serena to be a little annoyed.
"Stop it!" Serena said as she got Alex to stop.
"That's weird, Ash is the one who's battling, not you." Bonnie said as she knew Ash was battling and not Serena.
"Yeah, i know. I didn't understand back at the Santalune Gym, but now I know how hard it really is to earn a gym badge. Ever since Ash saw Grant at the Battle Chateu, he's been doing nothing but preparing to challenge the cyllage gym and win a badge. We've all seen how hard Ash's been working. A victory here would mean the world to him. And that's why i'm feeling so nervous." Serena said as she told Bonnie about how Ash had worked hard and how she wanted it to be a victory.
"I think we all been training really hard together." Bonnie said as they did train hard.
"You're right. I just hope all that training pays off for him." Serena said as she hoped it was all a success.
"You know, I feel like what you are saying. When I first journeyed in Sinnoh with Ash, I felt like I didn't want to earn myself a badge by going through it with unfair battles and limited training to my Pokemon. But it only created stronger walls for gym leaders cause i wasn't really training myself to be one of the best cause I was working myself to the hardest. When i want to train. I want to work hard. Victories could be one step closer to finding those who I love and I wanna protect them." Alex said as he told about how he felt when he first started his journey and he wanted to train to be there to help out the others more than him.
"I see you've been going through your own ways to." Serena said as she knew they had their own ways.
"Yeah, I just watch then battle too see some strategy inside on what others can do." Alex said as he knew about the battle strategy.
"Can I watch?" Dedenne said as he peeked out from the bag.
"Huh? You're rooting for Ash too, Dedenne?" Bonnie said as she looked down at Dedenne.
"Yep!" Dedenne cheered on from the sidelines.
"Heh, This'll be fun." Alex said as he was gonna have fun.
"Alright. Battle Begin!" The referee called out as the battle was underway between the two trainers. Ash's second gym badge was on the line!
ASH VS GRANT: THREE VS TWO
"Okay, Froakie, Water Pulse!" Ash said as he wanted to knock out Onix fast.
"Water... Pulse!" Froakie said as he charged up a ball of water and fired it at Onix.
"Flash Cannon, go." Grant said as he made his move.
"Flash Cannon!" Onix said as it fired off a steel beam from it's mouth.
"..." Water Pulse moved out of the way as Onix dodged it, Flash cannon was a direct hit on froakie though!
"Waarrugghh.. rrraghhh!" Froakie cried out as he rolled back but recovered from the hit.
"Froakie, Are you alright?" Ash said as Froakie got back on all four legs.
"Yes." Froakie said as he was a-okay.
"Awesome, let's go." Ash said as Froakie with his four legs charged towards Onix.
"Rock Polish." Grant said, not letting ash get the chance.
"Grraaaaaaah." Onix said as he raised his speed. With Blue electric shocks coming out.
"Onix has increased his speed." Clemont said as now Onix was getting
"I can see what your strategy is, Ash. Clearly attacking Onix's large body is your goal. But can you deal with it's speed? Now, Go after Froakie." Grant said as he knew what he was doing, but he wasn't gonna let it bother him.
"Grraah! Come here!" Onix roared as he headed toward Froakie. Then he managed to directly hit him.
"Froakie, stay calm. Use Double Team!" Ash said as he knew they would stay calm and tell froakie to surprise them.
"Hnn... Double Team! Double Team! Double Team!" Froakie grunted as he backed off, then charged at Onix with making copies of himself, stopping Onix.
"Huh? What...? Where?" Onix said as he noticed the multiple froakies running in a circle around him.
"A speedy Double Team, indeed. But it isn't gonna help you one bit against our next move." Grant said as he was intrigued to see what Ash was doing.
"Here it comes." Ash said as he was ready for Rock Tomb.
"Now it's time to experience the true power of Rock-Types. Use Rock Tomb!" Grant said as he went and show ash about how Rock Tomb would go.
"Grraaah!" Onix roared as it was summoning rocks around it.
"Oh, Ash." Serena said with a slight worry.
"I guess we'll see if all that training pays off." Clemont said as he hoped for the training to work.
"You can do it, Froakie!" Bonnie said as she cheered on.
"Come on, let's hope it worked." Alex said as a hopeful prayer.
"Froakie, watch carefully then, jump!" Ash said as Froakie was being very very careful.
"Rock Tomb!" Onix said as he sent the Rocks towards the Froakie's.
"Hrraahh!" The Froakies said as they all jumped in the air as the real Froakie was shown amongst them.
"That should end your double team. Now, let's see if you can escape from our Rock Tomb." Grant said as he ended the Double team as Ash smirked.
"Now Froakie. Show them what all that training was for!" Ash said to his Froakie as the Real Froakie had a plan.
"Hrah, Hrah, Hrah, Hrah!" Froakie said as he was jumping from Rock to Rock, this surprised Grant and Onix to see it.
"Huh?" Grant said as he was surprised.
"Keep on jumpin' higher!" Ash said as he wanted Froakie to keep moving.
"..." Froakie then got onto Onix's body and started climbing onto Onix!
"How is it Possible?" Grant exclaimed, seeing nothing like this before.
"We saw that Rock Tomb at the Battle Chateau. And I knew we'd have to beat it for me to earn a badge. So we did some serious and friendly special training to come up with a way to counter-act that move." Ash explained as he knew about it and having a counter for it..
"Who taught you?" Grant asked as he was surprised.
"Heh, Well." Alex said as he slightly chuckled.
Flashback
"Are you sure?" Alex asked as he still had his Dunsparce with Ash facing off against Froakie and Pikachu.
"Yes, If I can't beat Rock Tomb. Then how will I beat Onix?" Ash said as he knew if he could win, he needed to beat Rock Tomb.
"Oh! I see, let's practice. Dunsparce! Ancient Power!" Alex said as he let Dunsparce use Ancient Power on Froakie, Froakie failed to block it and Pikachu kept knocking them down.
"Hmm. This isn't working." Ash said as he put his left hand on his chin, Alex sparked an idea.
"Wait, Why not jump from Rock to Rock?" Alex said as he told him a new plan.
"Huh?" Ash said as he realized maybe it could work.
End of Flashback
"I'm beyond impressed." Grant said as he was impressed with Ash.
"It's called: 'The Froakie Rock Tomb Climb!'" Ash called the name, Rock Tomb Climb.
"Amazing! The Froakie Rock Tomb Climb!" Serena said as she liked the name.
"Yay, yay, yay!" Bonnie cheered happily on the name.
"I knew my strategy and training would work out!" Alex said as he knew his plan worked out well.
"That should give ash lots of confidence." Clemont said as this was confident for Ash.
"Now, Follow it up with Water Pulse!" Ash said as he wanted to attack.
"Water... Pulse!" Froakie said as he sat on Onix and fired a point blank water pulse on Onix.
"Grroaaah!" Onix cried out as it was a super effective hit!
"Onix, Iron Tail!" Grant said as he needed to give Onix space.
"Grroaaah, Iron... Tail!" Onix cried out as his tail glowed white and whipped it blindly.
"Dodge it, quick!" Ash called out as Froakie landed on a rock.
"Whoaaah!" Froakie cried out as in slow motion, Froakie barely dodged Iron tail by the skin of his frubbles as a very close call.
"Okay, now climb up on Onix." Ash said as he had another plan.
"Right!" Froakie said as he began to run to Onix and climbed onto the rock snake Pokemon.
"Huh!?" Onix said as Froakie was in front of Onix's face which caused him to panic.
"Onix, Shake froakie off!" Grant cried out, knowing this was not good.
"Grroaah! Get offf!" Onix roared as he shook his face to squirm froakie off, but to no avail.
"Froakie, way to go!" Serena said as she cheered for Froakie to hold on.
"Yeah, hang on tight!" Bonnie said as she called out to the bubble frog Pokemon.
"Now finish it. Water Pulse!" Ash said, going for the last blow.
"Grragh!" Onix cried out as it was attempting to shake it off. It soon stopped.
"Water Pulse!" Froakie said as he fired a water pulse right in front of Onix's face and blasted him with it.
"Grrraaahhh! Urrggh..." Onix cried out as he landed on his side and crashed down, he was defeated with Swirls on his eyes and lost the battle.
"Onix is unable to battle. Froakie wins!" The referee declared as the first point belonged to Froakie and Ash!
"Alright! The Froakie Rock Tomb Climb rocked it hard!" Ash said excitingly as he knew the plan worked! The training paid off.
"Nice, Froakie!" Pikachu cheered happily, Froakie looked at Ash and Pikachu.
"Heh." Froakie grinned happily as he won a battle.
"Yes! The training paid off!" Serena said as she was excited that Ash got it to work.
"You were so great, froakie!" Bonnie cheered on from the sidelines.
"I'm glad Dunsparce helped out with our training. Otherwise this would've been tough." Alex said as he had to thank Dunsparce before the departure.
"Using Water Pulse from a super close range. It sure worked well." Clemont said, knowing that a close range water pulse work.
"Thanks. Great job, onix. Please, Return. You are quite a surprise, Ash. It's exactly what Viola warned me about. Plus alex's strategy can help out too. She advised me not to underestimate both of you, and she was so far quite correct." Grant said as he returned Onix to his Pokeball and was impressed and recalled Viola telling them about the strategy and determination.
"The best defense is a good offense. That's the way I battle." Ash said as he knew his way to battle was with offense.
"Ash, you sure showed them how cool you are." Bonnie said as she cheered on Ash.
"That's true. But there's still one wall left to climb." Clemont said as he knew one more wall was left.
"Oh yeah!" Alex said as he realized it.
"Ash still has one more Pokemon to beat to earn his badge." Serena said as she knew whatever this Pokemon was, Ash had to beat.
"Hmm." Clemont nodded as he knew this was the last hurdle.
"Whatever this pokemon is, It can mean a lot. If it's strong, then it's trouble. If not, It'll be fine with Ash. What is it that Grant has?" Alex said as he wondered if this was going to be trouble.
"Time for my second Pokemon. Tyrunt, let's go!" Grant said as he summoned out Tyrunt, out it came as a small rocky dragon with a big jaw.
"Hrrr... GROAAAHH!" Tyrunt growled and cried out in a fiery and feisty roar.
"Whoah! What in the name of Arceus? I gotta see this Pokemon!" Alex said as he was startled on seeing the new Pokemon out of nowhere.
"Who's that Pokemon?" Ash said as both trainers got the Pokedexes out and scanned it.
"Tyrunt. The Royal Heir Pokemon. Tyrunt's Jaws are so big and powerful it can crunch up a car. If it doesn't like something, it responds with a wild tantrum." The Pokedex scanned and read about Tyrunt's power and typing as it was scary.
"GRRRUHHH!" Tyrunt shouted up in the air as it was ready to go.
"Tyrunt. We have to watch out for that big mouth and those sharp teeth." Ash said as he was slightly nervous. The Jaws can seemingly do big damage if they are not careful.
"Ash should remember that Tyrunt is both a Rock-Type and a Dragon-type Pokemon." Clemont said as he knew this was something else besides a rock type Pokemon.
"Dragon-type too?" Serena said as she was surprised to hear the type.
"That's a dragon type? Wow.. But really. It can crunch up a CAR? Just... how?!" Alex said as he was baffled to see a Pokemon do so much damage it can eat a literal car.
"It sounds pretty strong to me." Bonnie said as she felt a cold shiver.
"Eep..." Dedenne said as he hid back in the bag.
"You're scared? Guess you think it's strong, too." Bonnie said as she knew that it was scary to look at.
"Does the challenger wish to make a substitution, now?" The referee asked to Ash, Ash shook his head.
"No thanks. I'm going to stick with froakie. Okay?" Ash said as he declined the offer and wanted to stay with Froakie.
"I'll end this." Froakie said as he was desparate to win another one without other Pokemon.
"Alright, battle begin." The referee said as the battle continued on.
"Let's give it everything we got. Double Team!" Ash said as he wanted to do the same strategy.
"Hmph! Double Team! Double Team!" Froakie said as he charged at Tyrunt while making fake copies of himself.
"Hrrah.. Hmm." Tyrunt growled as he looked around and noticed the fake copies circling around him again.
"Tyrunt, Rock Tomb!" Grant said as he made the move, not falling for it again.
"Rock.. Tomb!" Tyrunt said as it was summoning Rock Tomb as they spun so fast, surprising all the Froakie's.
"Huh?" The Froakies said as Ash looked like this was bad.
"It can use Rock Tomb, too!?" Ash exclaimed, seeing the speed of it go fast.
"Froakie. You and Ash can do it!" Bonnie cheered on from the Sideline.
"The Rocks are moving a lot faster." Clemont said as he realized how fast the Rock Tomb way.
"And they're way above froakie's head!" Alex said as they were above Froakie and Tyrunt.
"Rock Tomb!" Tyrunt said as he sent the Rock Tomb right away.
"Whoah!" Froakie cried out as they dodged them all.
"Alright, Froakie. Rock Tomb Climb. Now!" Ash said as he needed to hurry since it was coming fast.
"Climb!" The Froakies said as the froakies began to use Rock Tomb Climb once again on the rocks.
"Awesome. Rock Tomb Climb and Double Team." Bonnie said as it was the same combo.
"What a fascinating strategy." Grant said as he was impressed.
"Here we go. Use Bubble!" Ash said as he was ready to make a move.
"Bubbblee!" The Froakies said as they were attacking Tyrunt from the bottom with their jumps.
"Oh.." Grant sighed as he was smirking.
"We'll be able to get all the way up to the top." Ash said as he was confident but Grant wasn't sure of it.
"I wouldn't be overly confident." Grant said as this got ash's attention.
"Huh?" Ash said as Grant made his call.
"Now, Tyrunt. Jump!" Grant said as he was ready to show off Tyrunt's legs.
"Hrrraaghh!" Tyrunt cried out as it jumped way higher than all of the Froakie's and his copies.
"Whoa!" Ash cried out as he was impressed.
"Wow, What a jump!" Clemont said as he was surprised.
"Tyrunt! Draco Meteor!" Grant said as this got the groups attention.
"Wait.. Draco... WHAT?!" Alex said as he was surprised to hear this move.
"Draco... Meteor!" Tyrunt said as he charged up Draco Meteor from his mouth and looked up.
"..." Draco Meteor was able to shot up into the sky as meteors fell from the sky as it began to erase away at Froakie's double teams like nothing happening. Then all the froakies disappeared as the meteors smashed the ground, collecting froakie.
"Froakie, no!" Ash cried out as the dust settled for the results.
"Oooouuhh..." Froakie groaned out as he had swirls on his eyes and was defeated by Tyrunt.
"Froakie is unable to battle. Tyrunt wins!" The Referee declared as Froakie had lost and Tyrunt had won.
"I'm Victorius!" Tyrunt said as he was roaring in victory.
"Ngh.." Ash grunted, how was something like going to stop him?
"How..?" Pikachu said as he didn't expect that.
"Oh no..." Serena said as that was one down.
"Tyrunt can use Draco Meteor." Clemont said as it was a powerful move.
"That's a very powerful dragon-type attack... Ouch." Alex said as he knew how strong it was.
"Okay, Froakie. Return." Ash said as he returned Froakie to it's Pokeball.
"That was an awesome job." Ash said as he thanked Froakie for his hard work.
"So Ash, how do you like my Tyrunt? I'm especially proud of Tyrunt's strong legs and its Rock Tomb is the absolute best of the best. And its Draco Meteor. How will you climb that wall?" Grant asked to Ash, wanting to show off his better Pokemon that he had.
"I'm strong!" Tyrunt growled as he had steam come out of it's nostrils on the nose.
"You know what i think? The stronger the opponent, the more fun the battle. I'll deal with any wall you put up for me to climb." Ash said as he told Grant about what he thought. Then he sent out his next Pokemon.
"Alright, Fletching! I choose you!" Ash said as he was able to send out Fletchling next.
"Here we go!" Fletchling said as he was next to go.
"A flying-type, eh?" Grant said as he looked up at Fletchling to see his spirit.
"Fletchling, Razor wind!" Ash said as he made his move.
"Razor Wind!" Fletchling said as he used his wings and fired off razor wind.
"Use Crunch!" Grant said as he knew how to stop it.
"Grraph!" Tyrunt said as he opened his mouth and ate Razor Wind like nothing!
"Ah!?" Ash and Fletchling cried out as the Tyrunt seemed unfazed so suddenly.
"Tyrunt.. Ate the move." Serena said as she was amazed.
"Tyrunt's mouth and teeth are very strong." Ash sweatdropped, this was bad.
"Alright, Fletchling, use double team!" Ash said as he needed to have another plan.
"Right away! Double Team! Double Team!" Fletchling said as he flew in the air and used copies of himself with a Double Team.
"It's all or nothing, now! Steel wing, let's go! Fly straight in!" Ash said as he wanted to hit Grant with a surprise attack.
"Steel Wing!" The Fletchlings said as they had their wings glowing and charged at Tyrunt.
"Dragon Tail!" Grant said as Tyrunt made another big jump.
"Another jump!" Ash said as he was surprised.
"Tyrunt's jumping ability is simply incredible! It totally counters any aerial advantage!" Clemont said as he was astounded with the jumping ability of Tyrunt.
"With that height. He can beat double team." Alex said as it seemed like he could take out any double team.
"Dragon Tail! Hrrahh!" Tyrunt said as he was taking out the fake fletchlings one by one.
"Steel Wing!" Fletchling said as he appeared and made direct contact.
"Graagh! TAKE THIS!" Tyrunt cried out before he hit Fletchling right in the back and sent him straight down.
"Ah!" Ash cried out as Fletchling laid on it's back on top of rock. Badly beaten.
"Uuuggh..." Fletchling groaned out as Tyrunt landed on the ground with Fletchling having his eyes with swirls. Being defeated by Tyrunt.
"Fletchling is unable to battle. Tyrunt wins!" The referee declared as now Fletchling was done.
"Hhm, Rrrraaghh!" Tyrunt roared out in victory again.
"Fletchling, return!" Ash said as he returned fletchling to it's Poke Ball.
"You were great out there." Ash said as he thanked Fletchling.
"My turn.. right?" Pikachu said as Ash looked down to Pikachu.
"Alright buddy, it's up to you now. You can do it." Ash said as Pikachu nodded.
"Got it." Pikachu said as he got onto the battlefield.
"Hmph, Hmph.. Ahmmph." Tyrunt muttered as one of it's legs dragged across the battlefield, leaving a mark on it as it once again had smoke coming out of it's nostrils.
"So it seems we've arrived at our final battle." Grant said as he knew it was the last battle. One on one.
"I know what all of Tyrunt's moves are. All I got to do is win." Ash said as he knew what to do against Tyrunt.
"Your spirit is strong. Although Rock tomb climb is quite creative, it won't work against Draco Meteor. Also, Pikachu is an electric-type while Tyrunt is a Rock and Dragon-type. Tyrunt clearly has the advantage." Grant said as he loved Ash's spirit but knew it would crumble to Draco Meteor. Also telling ash the type advantage.
"Okay, Bring it on! Pikachu, Quick Attack!" Ash said as he was ready and made his move.
"Grrraaghh! Quick Attack!" Pikachu said as he made a quick attack move.
"Tyrunt, Crunch!" Grant said as Tyrunt charged at Pikachu.
"Crraaaa..." Tyrunt growled as it opened it's mouth with it's teeth glowing.
"Jump, Pikachu!" Ash said as Pikachu jumped.
"Hrragh! Hmph!" Pikachu said as he jumped off of Tyrunt.
"Draco Meteor!" Grant said as Tyrunt faced straight up and got ready to charge.
"Draco... METEOR!" Tyrunt said as he fired a Draco Meteor at Pikachu.
"Iron tail. Go!" Ash said as Pikachu was seeing Draco Meteor.
"Iron.. TAIL!" Pikachu said as he dodged the Draco Meteor ball coming at him from behind, he managed to hit Tyrunt before sending jumping up when the meteors began to fall toward Pikachu.
"LOOK OUT!" Serena cried out, this was bad.
"Pikachu's going to get hit!" Bonnie said as it seemed impossible to dodge!
"There's no way to counter Draco Meteor from that speed!" Alex said as Ash knew he had a plan.
"You think so? Pikachu, Jump as high as you can. Now, go into Draco Meteor Climb!" Ash said as he had a new plan up his sleeve.
"Grragh! Hragh! Gragh!" Pikachu said as he slammed his tail against the metoers and climbed up more and more.
"He's... climbing Draco Meteor!?" Alex said as he was amazed to see him climb.
"Looks like Rock Tomb Climb!" Serena said as she was seeing Ash climb up Draco Meteor.
"But they turned it into Draco Meteor Climb." Bonnie said as she knew what they were doing.
"No matter what happens you can never count Ash and Pikachu out." Clemont said as you know not to count out Ash and Pikachu.
"Look at that! Tyrunt! Dragon Tail!" Grant said as he was amazed, He knew he had to take advantage of this.
"Dragon..." Tyrunt said as he jumped up toward Pikachu.
"Huh?" Pikachu said as he turned his head to see Tyrunt coming.
"Keep using Iron Tail!" Ash said, knowing not to budge or give up.
"TAIL!" Tyrunt shouted as he charged.
"IRON TAIL!" Pikachu said as both moves were coming at each other.
"..." Iron and Dragon tail clashed as everyone gasped, both Pokemon came down unharmed somehow. Ash and Grant knew time was slowly running out but both Pokemon stood tall.
"Hmm." Ash and Grant mumured as it seemed both Pokemon were not giving up.
"Excellent. Quite well-executed." Grant said as he was impressed with Ash.
"We keep on getting stronger even while we're battling." Ash said as he knew they would keep on getting better and better.
"And an exciting battle it is. To show my respect for your passion, I'm going to wrap this up with my favorite move. Time for Rock Tomb!" Grant said as he felt the battle was really fun for them as he knew it should be over soon.
"Well, I'm ready for it!" Ash said as he knew he was ready for the move.
"Rock... TOMB!" Tyrunt said as he summoned out the rocks to target Pikachu.
"Alright, deflect them with Iron Tail!" Ash said as he wanted to deflect them all.
"Iron Tail! Take this!" Pikachu said as he jumped in the air and deflected the rock tomb rock by rock until it was over.
"RRAAAAHH!" Tyrunt roared as he left his mouth open for an unknown opportunity for Pikachu to strike!
"IRON TAIL!" Pikachu said as he deflected a Rock Tomb to another, sending that rock right into Tyrunt's open mouth, trapping it from closing. Tyrunt couldn't crush the rock with it's mouth being jammed up and locked from attack now!
"Tyrunt!" Grant called out, Tyrunt can't attack now!
"What a mouthful!" Bonnie said as she chuckled at the situation.
"Now, Tyrunt can't use Crunch! Pikachu can get in close!" Clemont said as that was a smart move.
"What a smart idea! Deflecting the rocks so Tyrunt can't attack!" Alex said as he realized how smart it was for Ash to go at it like that.
"Now, i'll wrap this up using my favorite move. Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!" Ash said as Pikachu leaped from Rock to rock in the air and called his favorite move to finish it.
"THUNDER..BOLLLT!" Pikachu said as he used one last strong thunderbolt.
"Brrruuph.. Burrrurgh! Uggh..." Tyrunt guttered out as he was launched back into a rock of his own which caused him to crash as the smoke cleared, revealing Tyrunt had swirls on his eyes and was defeated once and for all! Ash had won!
"Tyrunt is unable to battle. Pikachu wins. Which means the match goes to the challenger, Ash!" The referee declared which made Ash the victor! He had defeated Grant!
"You were so awesome! Pikachu, we won!" Ash cheered happily and hugged Pikachu.
"Hooray... Haa..." Pikachu said as he was tired.
"They won!" Serena said as she was happy they won.
"Hooray!" Bonnie cheered happily.
"Wow, Talk about an attempted comeback that came short." Alex said as that was a close call from a comeback attempt.
"Oh.. That Ash never cease to amaze me." Clemont said as he was proud of Ash.
"That certainly turned into a heated and fearsome battle. Didn't it? Thank you so very much." Grant said as he petted Tyrunt's head softly as he tried hard to win.
"I tried." Tyrunt said as he had tried.
"Your Rock Tomb Climb really surprised me. But the biggest surprise of all was having Pikachu use thunderbolt which shouldn't have been that effective on Tyrunt. A Rock and Dragon type." Grant said as he was surprised with Ash and his ideas and skills.
"Everyone was awesome." Ash said as Froakie and Fletchling were out of their Poke Balls and Pikachu was not the one to get all credit.
"We did fight hard!" Pikachu said as he was still battling.
"It was amazing!" Fletchling said as he was proud of himself.
"Don't count us out!" Froakie said as he knew he did hard work.
"Thanks to Froakie, Fletchling and Pikachu. This is a victory for all three of you." Ash said as he thanked all the Pokemon and they gained victory for them.
"Ash, your team always makes a good impression when they join. And thats why you fight hard to win!" Alex said as he was impressed with Ash's team.
"Wonderful! By working together you all managed to scale the wall that is known as the Cyllage City gym Battle." Grant said as he knew that Ash scaled the wall and won by climbing the top of it.
"As a symbol of that, I present you with the Cliff Badge." Grant said as he knew he'd have to award Ash the badge.
"Thank you so much, Grant. We did it, Pikachu. All that hard work paid off." Ash said as he was happy he got the gym badge.
"Don't forget us!" Froakie said happily, knowing they would not be forgotten.
"We fought hard!" Fletchling said as he knew they fought hard.
"Alright! I won the cliff badge!" Ash said as he celebrated his victory of winning the Cliff badge fair and square and with his Pokemon cheered.
"..." Ash put his cliff badge in his case. He had two badges in his case possession.
"Congratulations, Ash!" Serena congratulated to Ash who won.
"That battle was so cool!" Bonnie said excitingly to Ash.
"I've never seen a battle of yours when I wasn't completely amazed and impressed by you." Clemont said as he was impressed once more.
"Thanks a lot, guys." Ash said as he thanked his group.
"Well. Tomorrow I'll be ready. Do not forget about it." Alex said as he knew it was his turn next.
"We won't! In fact, We might watch from the sidelines." Ash said as he didn't want to leave Alex out of it.
"Alex, I'll be happy to arrive and await you against our battle." Grant said as he knew that he'll wait for Alex..
"Thank you so much, Grant. Should we get a hotel and celebrate?" Alex said as now he would be next soon, Alex focused on the group.
"Sure!" Ash, Serena, Clemont and Bonnie said together as a celebration.
