Chapter Five

Refusal

Three skis drive towards the closest shore as Chris growls at Kiric. He had witnessed Asriel's transformation as the three try to drive quickly out of the water.

"Damn it Kiric you had to keep poking the hornet nest!" Chris says as a blast is heard, Asriel closing in as Chris reaches into a pocket on his vest he was wearing for the action. They thought since it was just the two and initially they were going to scout. However, when seeing they had been distracted Kiric took it upon himself to act.

"Hey I didn't know they could fucking transform like that, or even fly!" Kiric says as he follows Chris's lead, the two of them both press on as they flick safety covers over a button before pressing it, launching several canisters no bigger than typical soda cans high into the air.

Asriel was charging angrily through the air as he locks onto Frisk's form. First goal was to get her to safety, then he could make them pay. He almost got to them as they turn deeper into the lake, trying to find out a way to shake him from following to their vehicle. That was when several loud pops followed by a consistent hiss as smoke began to rapidly cover their tracks. He stops and tries to scan for the ski, not realizing the one with Frisk was soon gone. Leaving him with two skis that drove off deeper into the lake. He follows them thinking the third is still with them as he soon realizes he was wrong, and there was no trace of where the third one went.

He soon stopped as the two skis were staring him down. Chris knew this was bad. Magic was dangerous and they had no way to counter Asriel out here. The best they could do was survive and distract long enough for Blake to ready the vehicle for leaving… they would be leaving a lot of equipment, but no choice now.

"What now oh so smart leader?!" Kiric asks as he stares at the beast of a person before him. Asriel's current appearance instilled fear… The aura coming off him screamed dangerous.

"Keep him distracted. We need just thirty minutes for Blake to be ready with the girl to leave. Time for her to get anything important plus drive the vehicle to the pickup point." Chris says as he looks at Asriel, he was calm, yet Chris knew this was dangerous indeed. Definitely not how things were meant to go. "I noticed when I returned yesterday two crates were emptied, did you hide…?" Chris asks as Kiric nods.

"Yeah… So we going to make a move or what? The second this fucker moves you know we will be outclassed on speed." Kiric says as Chris knew this to be true. He growls before Chris revs the motor and takes off heading one way.

"Split up and we will go from there!" Chris yells as Kiric follows and the two drive off in two directions. Asriel growls as he blasts off towards Kiric whom quickly notices and makes towards the waterfall. Chris noticing the chance for him to move heads towards land as he quickly finds a chance to abandon his ski, however he noticed that another Monster was running along side the edge as they held a spear, This monster was on its way to back up Asriel or to go after Frisk. Either way was not good, He walks along the trees before he notices an orange cloth marking a branch.

Kiric growls, It didn't take Asriel long to start blasting Magic attacks off at him. It seems he had enough of his antics and wanted to end him now. Asriel flies high up as his hands rise up then drop down, Crackling fills the air as loud blasts of lightning shoot down narrowly missing him. A series of red flaming orbs soon begin to appear as Kiric's eyes widen further.

"Oh you have go to be fucking kidding me!" Kiric says as he starts to weave about, each fireball barely missing except for a few that hit the ski and cause the back to light aflame. He growls before roughtly turning and tries to stop, causing the ski to roll putting the flame out, Asriel flies past him as he drives back the way he came. "This bastard is like an itch you can't reach. FUCKING ANNOYING AND A PAIN IN THE ASS!" he yells as he sees Asriel's hands rise up once again.

A blue stream of light blasts across the air and hits him. A teal barrier around Asriel flickers as he is sent flying into the water. Kiric pants as he sees Chris on the shore with a rifle that had a blue glow about it. He smirks as he starts to make his way. Chris lowers his weapon when suddenly a blast is heard. He raises his weapon when a heart dropping rumble echos in the air

A loud crack and explosion, and red mist fills the air around the shoreline. Kiric's eyes drop in terror as his companion… his friend, was struck by a massive bolt of lightning. It didn't even leave the weapon as there was now very ruined object in parts on the ground. His eyes look back to Asriel to show he was still alive, and despite having blood gushing from a chest wound, it wasn't deep enough to be fatal. Definitely weakened him though as the Monster pants as Kiric manages to get off and runs into the woods. Flying into the woods he follows after him.

Meanwhile Blake had just gotten into the vehicle when she heard the thunderous crack, it wasn't far and before she knew it Kiric had been running into the camp site. He was panicking as he runs past. Her eyes widen as soon Asriel was before her and Kiric had run off.

Asriel's feet touch the ground as he takes a few steps forwards towards the vehicle. Blake narrows her eyes as she climbs out…

'So this is it huh? This is how I die, forced to fight for another side…' She tries to steady her hands as she pulls out a short sword from her back, it's sheath built into her clothing as she stands before him. Her hands shaking as she stares at him.

Kiric kept running until he stumble across a blue marker he left. His eyes widen as he looks back then at the marker. He growls as he slams his fist into the tree next to it. "I won't let your death be in vain Chris…" He says before he reaches into the tree.

"Give. Her. Back." Asriel says as Blake's eyes widen at the tone. She weakly shook her head.

"I… I can't. I need to obtain my freedom, she could be that key." Blake responds as she looks at him. Asriel's snarl grows however he saw her shaky hands and feet. She was not ready to die for this… yet she had to. Shes forced to. Just like Frisk was forced to live a life she didn't deserve either.

"If you don't give her back, I will kill you. I refuse to let my friend suffer anymore than she has!" Asriel snarls as he steps forwards. Blake steps back, however her chest swells with anger. She didn't have it to fight, but she knew that the girl has a better life than her she was free. She wanted to retort, however a new sound echos around them, one that was inhumane. Asriel's eyes dart about as both him and Blake look around.

"T-That one yours?" Blake asks.

"No…" Asriel responds.

"… I know you don't trust me." Blake says as she looks about, she felt she needed to take a chance. Kiric was gone and Chris was no where to be seen. She had to strike a deal. "I will let her go, but you need to let me go. I want out of this. I need to-" Another howl as a tree falls down deeper in the woods where Kiric ran. Asriel narrows his eyes as he looks at Blake then the treeline.

"Why?" He asks as the two hear something coming closer. Blake's eyes widen as she sees something faintly in the thick foliage.

"Because I don't want to die, I don't want to be turned into some sort of toy for the bastards that hold me. I just want to avenge my mother…" Blake says as she rather step towards Asriel when a loud roar echos as she turns her back to Asriel and steps backwards in fear. "N-No… It can't be him! H-He would be seen coming here!" Blake says as her weapon slips from her hands. A large grossly overgrown mass of flesh and muscles begins to walk into sigh.

"Girl what is that?!" Asriel demands as he sees the figure coming out, That was when Blake saw the remnants of clothing ripped over him, a weapon in his hand.

"K-Kiric… t-that was Kiric, H-How did he…" That was till she figured what happened. "H-He consumed one of his vials? Oh god…" Blake says as she falls onto her backside. Asriel steps forwards and begins to stand between Kiric and the vehicle. Kiric's wild eyes no longer their original color but a mass of black orbs.

"WHAT VIALS?" Asriel demands as the creature gives a chuckling noise, the weapon raises as it charges.

Asriel raises his hand and quickly drops it as a bolt of lighting shoots down, a crack and boom as it hits. However Asriel's eyes widen as he sees a glimmer of a barrier around him.

"S-Special vials made of Monster DNA for one of their mad experiments… that beast consumes them and human flesh on a daily basis… he was made to consume them, T-This is what happens to a normal person…" Blake says as her eyes stare on in fear at the beast.

The weapon begins to hum as a blue glow appears at the barrel. Asriel prepares to move but realizes he would leave Frisk open. Gritting his teeth as the blast comes forth another barrier around him glimmers before shattering hitting him in the arm. The pain fills his body as the energy vanishes shortly after his form hidden by dirt in the air with magic smoke about.

"Magic… need more magic…" A voice comes from Kiric as he begins to move towards Asriel. "Your...abundant...will feed nicely. Revenge for Chris…" The sickly voice echos out. His eyes wander over Blake. The look in them made her stomach churn as they were hungry ones… w-was he going to eat her or worse?

"Get her out of here…" Asriel's voice calls out as he is on one knee, the smoke and dust clearing. Blake looks at him confused with fear. "Get Frisk out of here now and you have a deal…" Asriel says as the girl scrambles to her feet. Quickly opening the backdoor passenger she spots something she left in the vehicle hanging by Frisk's head. The light shining on it shown the symbol on the orb. Her eyes waver as she looks back to Asriel the symbol on the robe.

'H-Hes connected to my mother… or his family must be!' Looking back to the beast of Kiric and the Frisk. 'If she is with them… Mother I found my way out, and I made a huge mistake. If I leave now hes going to die, then us… if I run maybe get help but will die cause no one will believe me that I changed sides the girl lives.. if I fight though… find a way to harm him and support this Monster, then we may all live.' She grabs the orb, not noticing a slight glow as it entered her hand. She grabs her blade as she joins Asriel's side.

"What are you doing?! Stupid Human, take Frisk and RUN!" He yells as she shakes her head.

"I am not human thank you very much! And if I don't fight, the only winner is the girl for a short while! If I fight we stand a better chance… I won't blow this chance to speak with the people whom may have known her." Blake says as she readies her weapon. Asriel's eyes blink as he turns back to the beast.

"Another like us huh?"Blake blinks before shrugging.

"By us you mean those of a true soul? Or by my mother's title of such 'Sio'ta' Of True soul?" Blake says as she stares at the beast of Kiric whom snarls at their refueled will to fight.

" 'Sio'ta' Huh? Lets go with that, we can speak more later… I have a bastard to kill." Asriel says as he readies his right hand, his left hand covered in blood as it hangs. Blake nods as she springs forth and moves ready to strike at Kiric, her own drive to end the man for her freedom. Kiric growls as he tries to lift the weapon up again to fire once more only for Blake to snake in and hit a large blue orb on it shattering it and causing the weapon to shut down. She quickly moves out of the way dodging a strike from the beast. Asriel tries to strike him with another bolt of lightning as it hits another shield that flickers around Kiric.

"Damn, you got any other spells besides lightning? He might be more attuned to that type since you used that magic the most recent before his transformation!" Blake says as Asriel turns and nods at her. It made sense, he was just not thinking logically since this was no longer a human, but a creature of genetic manipulations of magic and human souls.

'What magic could I- Starfall, light magic isn't used here, its a natural effect! So he shouldn't have a resistance to it either!' Asriel raises his hand and clasps it shut. A glow of magic begins to shine in his hand when suddenly he snaps his eyes open to see Kiric punching him over the vehicle. Sliding across the ground before struggling to stand up. 'Damn it, I didn't think about how long it takes me to charge that, these attacks were all theoretical in the past!' Asriel groans as he gets onto one knee again.

Kiric begins to reach out to the vehicle as she snarls and dashes forth. Slashing at his arm causing Kiric to pull back in pain. She dances around him before she can jump onto his back and began to climb him. Kiric steps back and thrashes about as Asriel reaches his hand back into the air while on one knee, his eyes glaring at Kiric.

"EAT! MUST EAT" The beast of Kiric says as he fails to grab Blake stepping back towards a tree before she gets high enough to stab him in the shoulder, he howls in pain as he thrashes harder throwing Blake off and smashing into the tree he was backing up into. Blake smashes into a pile of rocks as she hears a crack in her side.

"DAMN IT!" She screams as she looks up to see Kiric was struggling to steady himself. She looks over to Asriel as he raises his hand further before slamming it down.

"I have had enough of this game, DIE!" Asriel screams as he sees a massive spiked orb shoot down from the sky and smash into Kiric, a howl of pain before the star explodes and the sound of flesh tearing could be heard. Kiric had to be dead, or heavily wounded. Blake had barely managed to survive the blast as a blue barrier took the hit, causing her eyes to widen as she felt a warmth from the orb in her pocket.

She struggles to stand as she sees her sword on the ground picking up the blade as she steps forth. Kiric was wounded heavily, his arms gone as his right leg was missing, his main body was protected the most it seems however he was unable to move and was bleeding out.

"T-TRAITOR, EAT, REVENGE,CHRIS! The former human screams in angony. His words falling simpler and simpler. She raises the sword and quickly drops it down, his chest falls for the last time as she stumbles back and falls back onto the ground. Asriel walks up to her as he takes a seat, his arm in horrible shape.

"Is it over?" Asriel asks as he hopes he can let his guard down.

"ASRIEL?! FRISK!? PLEASE SOMEONE RESPOND! Damn it Asgore is going to kill me!" Asriel's form was starting to slowly revert, his breathing heavy as Blake looks up.

"H-Help! Over here! Wounded Monster over here needs attention!" Blake screams out as suddenly a group of feet soon follow after.

"W-What are you-"

"Please hurry!" She screams out. "C-Cant have you passing out on me and letting me die can I? Gotta… ask questions still." Blake says as she feels her heart pound with adrenaline still.

"A-Asriel!" A voice calls out before Undyne could be seen running up and sees Blake whom quickly finds a spear pointed at her. "Damn Huma-" Asriel's hand slowly reaches out and touches the spear.

"She isn't our enemy. Never was in the first place." Asriel says getting Undyne to lower the spear before sighing.

"Damn it Asriel yo- Asriel!" Blake looks over to see Asriel's form returned, his arm looked better, however he had passed out. Shallow breaths as Undyne checks him over… Blake feels calmer now that help had arrived and… darkness followed. Blake felt herself floating in an endless void as she wavered in and out of consciousness.

"Asriel claimed for her…"
"This ID of her says… Blake. Interesting."

"SHE STOLE MY DAUGHTER!"

"Toriel, please you can't-"

"Rest easy child… you are safe."

"Asriel is finally awake, Frisk hasn't left his side…"

"How is she?"

"This is…"

"She is just like Frisk, a natural born."

Blake groans as she turns her head, a white room as she felt small diodes on her body. She barely opens her to see a smiling cracked skeleton face as her eyes widen.

"You are awake, good. I was beginning to wonder if your body was going to recover at all, add in the fact the dangers of no magic draining... How have you managed to survive all these years without the dangerous effects of stagnate flow is quite astonishing." Gaster says as he stands straight, Blake notices the numerous floating hands as they do different tasks of inputting information and writing notes down.

"Stagnate flow?" Blake asks as she tries to sit up.

"Indeed, did your Monster-parent assist in your flow or another Monster? It is required to know how to help nature it for the first year or two of your life so you can properly flow it later on. We discovered this technique was used about two the three hundred years after our origin lore's birth. Oh sorry, I must be overwhelming you. I will let the others know your awake." Gaster says as he moves out of the room. Leaving Blake to lie on the bed. She saw her mother's crystal orb on the desk as she takes it into her hand, a gentle blue glow as it reacts to her touch.

"Why is this reacting now?" She whispers as she recalls it only ever reacted in her mother's hands. A slight sob as she pulls it to her chest. "Va'va… I am free. I found the help you spoke about…" She says quietly to the Orb. Not realizing Asriel and Undyne were in the room. Undyne felt a bit of regret seeing the girl in this state. It was as he mentioned to them once he woke, another used as a tool, likely thought worthless for her prior lack of magic.

"Blake?" Asriel softly calls out casuing her head to snap. "That… is your name right? Blake?" Asriel asks again. Blake nods as she wipes her face.

"Sorry… Y-Yes my name is Blake. No last name." She says as she tries to sit up.

"Take it easy kid, no need to push yourself. You have been out for two weeks. Asriel woke up about two days ago, and even he had trouble moving the first day." Undyne says as she looks at the girl. "Sorry for my words that day. You alright?" Blake nods as she looks at Undyne.

"Sorry about all that, My name is Asriel, this is Undyne. Frisk would have been here to thank you for your help too if she wasn't catching up and bringing all my missed homework." Asriel says.

"It was my fault for-" Undyne scoffs.

"Yeah cause you obviously signed up to capture Frisk. Those types of Humans don't care about your rights. With your genetics if they couldn't make a soldier out of you for trial runs, who knows what would have been next." Undyne says before sighing. "You had no choice, Asriel explained the story. Your also part Monster too like Frisk and Asriel is. Though more like Frisk from my understanding." She says getting Blake to look at Asriel confused.

"Frisk is also a Sio'ta, her father was a Monster and her mother at the time was Human. When we got attacked something happened and she somehow connected to me and turned my soul into the same kind. Of both types. And before you ask, yes we have tested the genetics, and no we are not related now… god that is such a weird question when that came up yesterday." Asriel says with a sigh. "You said you had questions, I will answer what I can-" The sound of the doors opening as Toriel walks in with a gentle smile.

"Ah here is where you two went. Is the child awake finally?" Toriel's voice calls out.

"Oh howdy mom, Yeah Blake is awake now." Asriel says as Toriel gives a relived sigh.

"Thank goodness to see you awake young one." Toriel says as she walks up, she was wearing her old medic gown that had the family symbol on the front causing Toriel to see her staring at the symbol. Blake looks at the orb as she sees the symbol in it. "That is a very old hand-craft I see you have. Whos was it?" She asks softly seeing its condition of wellkept she knew it was going to be a sore subject.

"My mother, she gave it to me before she was pulled away and vanished. Shortly after I turned four." Toriel frowns as she shakes her head.

"I am sorry for your loss, do you remember her name?" Blake gave a soft nod as she recalls it from the last time she heard it… she would never let her mother's name die in her heart.

"Valiea va Veloris." Toriel's eyes soften further.

"Poor va'Vel… That was one friend I hadn't seen and prayed she was okay in the last two centuries." Toriel says as Blake's eyes widen.

"Y-You knew my mother?" Toriel nods as she sticks her hand out and looks to the orb. Blake looks at the orb before placing it softly in the monster's hand. Toriel's hand causes it to glow brightly as she watches the orb, words float into the air as she softly smiles before her eyes water.

"To my oldest friend…

It has been a while, and I wished this was not the way we last speak. I send unto you my precious child, Blake. She didn't need her worthless rapist of a father's last name, and she deserves to choose her own name once she claims her freedom, and not be weighed down by the Veloris duties to the royal family.

Toriel, they are going to turn what left of me exists into a medicine for a beast they created…"

Blake's eyes widen as she her stomach churns with disgust and fear. W-What Kiric drank was…

"But there is a counter, A true soul was formed in me with Blake… by the dust, a true soul like the old legends my mother told me about. I always thought they were… Its not the time nor do I have it. Please take care of my baby girl, help her learn the way of magic, I let her flow stagnate so she wouldn't be useful to them, but call it a hunch that I know she will unlock it when the time is right.

Please… take good care of her."

"va'Vel, I would never turn down a request from you my friend. Blake, rest for now as I feel the burning questions in your soul through your eyes. We will have plenty of time to talk." Toriel says softly, Blake nod as she feels a bit more at ease. Staring up at the ceiling she feels her eyes grow heavy.

"Lets let her rest abit more." Toriel says as the trio leave.

Asriel lets out a sigh as the three leave. Toriel and Undyne look at each other and then smirk as they had an idea what still rested on his mind. Toriel places her hand on Asriel's shoulder as she looks at him. "Care to let out what is bothering you dear?" Toriel asks, the prince gives a nod as he looks at Toriel.

"I uh… gotta figure out how to recover from that coma, I still owe Frisk that date." He says as Toriel and Undyne both nod. They knew it he wouldn't ever let someone down.

"I am sure Frisk will enjoy anything you want to do with her, just remember to listen to your soul and follow its guidance to what you want. If you want it to work out, it will work out." Toriel says as Undyne nods.

"And if that don't work go show her your tremendous strength by bench-pressing a boulder!" Undyne says, Toriel and Asriel stare at her with dead stares. "...uh I mean show her your tremendous love?" She corrects as Toriel shakes her head at Undyne's way of thinking.

Asriel nods as he sighs again.

"But what if I screw it up?" He groans as he moves to a seat in the main room. "So far every time we have been alone something bad has happened. I swear I am just bad luck or something." Toriel and Undyne give a soft chuckle.

"Asriel, the events have been… untimely sure. However do not worry… it won't always be the case. You know Gaster gave you a clean bill of health today body and soul. You and Frisk are no longer defenseless. Frisk has been practicing every day since she woke up and made great strides. We can do a few magic tests to see how your control is fairing." Asriel scoffs as Toriel sighs as she nudges him.

"Mom, its not any of that, its just I still havn't told her about the work and I-" Toriel gently taps Asriel's nose causing him to stop.

"This isn't about that though… if you want to tell her that then it is on you for when, and Frisk seems to really enjoy your company. You know, they say marry your best friend anyways. Cause if your truly the best, you'll be able to help through thick and thin. That was actually how your friend Fenor's parents got together. Those two were causing all sorts of mischief in school together." Toriel says before pulling him into a gentle hug.

"You sure mom?" Toriel nods as she looks outside through a nearby window. Asriel felt some relief with that, giving a quick nod he stands up. "I should go wash up before Frisk arrives so I can talk with her." He says before stretching his arms and legs some. "I gotta still decide about the family, however for now I will focus on school and the date." Asriel says as he walks away. Toriel smiles as Undyne smirks. The silence fills the room after Asriel leaves as Undyne's smirk grows.

"Ya'kno if he is as good as a smooth-talker as he was yesterday… chances are he could talk his way into her pants with ease." Undyne says calmly. Toriel smiles a bit too sweetly back at Undyne.

"Too bad hes too considerate, besides knowing how he is, he would mentally fry just thinking about such, much less be awake if a girl he liked stripped for him." Toriel replies, her tone put a fear in Undyne's chest.

Asriel walks down the halls as he finds the bathroom. The whiteness of the place was very much confusing as each room felt like a vast white void with how spartan Gaster kept the place. He finds himself at the bathroom soon enough as he looks at the mirror. His mind racing as seeing the girl whom assisted in her capture and her rescue awake stirred something in him that he didn't expect as he takes a deep breath.

Staring himself down he felt something swelling in his chest as he feels himself give a low growl. "DAMN IT!" He yells as he as stares at himself. 'WHY DO I STILL FEEL ANGRY?! WHY DO I STILL WANT TO RIP SOMEONE IN HALF?!' He snarls in his mind as he looks at himself in the mirror, for a moment he saw the same two humans whom captured Frisk appear in his view as he swings and smashes the mirror.

"DAMN YOU, DAMN YOU ALL TO DUST WHY HER? WHAT DID SOMEONE LIKE HER DO?!" His darker tone snarls as his eyes flash vibrantly and darkly at the same time.

"Asriel? Is everything okay? I heard you yell and a smashing noise." The voice says, Asriel quickly recognizes it as his mother. He curses himself as he sees his hand, the fur red and soaked with his own blood that had also dripped all over the counter.
"Y-Yeah" He says as he opens the door, it was no avoiding hiding what happened to his hand today for sure. Toriel gasps seeing his hand and the mirror's minor damage.
"Asriel, what on earth did you do this for?" She says as she quickly guides him back in and washes his hand as she begins to apply her magic to heal him.
"I…" He gives a sigh as he looks down "I just had a lapse of anger from what all happened. It just kinda bottled up it seems…" He says as Toriel sighs, as she nods.

"I understand dear… you have changed a lot these past few weeks since Frisk arrived haven't you?" Toriel asks as he nods. He couldn't deny that being around her just felt… right. Like the world was finally calm for a change, that it felt… peaceful.

"I guess so…" He says as he watches the green glow from her palm.

"Hows that feel?" She asks as he gently chuckles.

"To be honest, I wasn't even in pain from it, so about the same, maybe a bit sore now that the adrenaline is gone." He says as Toriel smiles softly and nods.
"Good, familiarize yourself with soreness…" She starts as Asriel felt a dreadful aura come from her, he gently tugs his hand to realize she had an iron grip that was too gentle. "Because you will be joining Frisk in the weekly after school lessons starting tomorrow." She says as she looks to Asriel. "You don't want to feel helpless again now do you?"

'aw crap-baskets.' Asriel thinks as he realize he was conscripted up for the one thing he swore he wouldn't do again. His mother's extra lessons. Those whom are willing to push further must push much further than you'd expect initially.

"So another has signed up for the T.A.T regiment I see." Gaster's voice calls out as he enters the room. "I came to let you know Blake has woken up again, and that Frisk has returned." He says as he turns to leave. Toriel and Asriel follow after, as they had planned to head home soon enough to get dinner ready, she had to prepare for extra mouths tonight after all.

After entering the main room, Caroline and Toriel both step away leaving Asriel with Frisk and they made their way to speak with Blake. As they reach the door Asriel stops at the handle.

"Asriel?" Frisk asks seeing him stop.

"Frisk, before we go in there…" He starts as he sighs. "...I want to apologize for the date. However I would like to make it up to you by taking you out next week instead." Frisk's face flushes as he turns to look at her. "Is that okay with you?" He asks, ignoring the blush as he stares into her eyes. Frisk felt her heart pounding as she nods, her words missing, his emerald eyes were just… she was hypnotized by the look in them. Powerful.

That is what she saw in them, but also a gentle kindness she has been admiring, ever since the bond on them vanished she felt more reactive to things around Asriel… she could feel his emotions around him, and his gentle nature was being prominent with his voice, his eyes held the power of his words behind him. He had decided she was truly worth her time and could feel it now.

Him asleep was just… relaxing. She had to be woken several times whenever she visited as she found herself able to fall asleep with ease, like she wanted to be there when he woke and slept. She wasn't sure if this was normal or if was from the bond she had with him or even if he could feel it, It wasn't like she knew many of the opposite sex, however… the idea of being around Asriel in general prior to this was nice, she felt welcomed despite feeling like she wasn't worth the money spent on her.

Frisk lets out a gentle breath as she smiles at Asriel. "Y-Yes. I would love to." She says as she gives another nod. Asriel smiles in return as the two take another breath and walk in. Blake was sipping on some water as she sat in her bed. She notices Frisk and looks away as the two walk up.

"How are you feeling? You didn't sleep much longer I see." Blake gives a soft nod.

"Yes, I am quite used to small rests of fifty to ninety minutes several times a day to protect myself from the men from my previous company." She says looking away. She felt a shift in the air as Asriel and Frisk seemed to have a rather perturbed look on them.

"Really? Well good thing we don't tolerate that action here. You are more than welcome to resting more if need be." Blake nods in understanding as Asriel speaks. "So Blake, this is Frisk. Frisk this is Blake." Frisk steps forwards as Blake closes her eyes tightly. Ready for the attack for being part of her capture initially… except nothing came except the feeling of Frisk's hand onto hers. Blake opens her eyes to see Frisk staring at her softly.

"Thank you for helping Asriel." Blake blinks as she stares in confusion.

"Y-You don't hate me? I kidnapped you…" Blake asks as she stares at Frisk whom shakes her head.

"No, I was scared yes when I got hit with that dart… but something tells me that you do only what you had to survive." Frisk says, neither Asriel nor Blake knowing that she was using her ability to feel Blake's emotions through her hand. She noticed something earlier today when she ran into Fenor and Teina that she could feel their joy while in a hug with them, that she was actually feeling it through their magic. Blake with her own magic flowing now could be felt as she shakes her head. "I can't hate anyone, everyone has good in their heart and I believe in second chances." Blake stares at Frisk with a frown.

"Your too trusting, that could get you killed or worse…" Blake says, Frisk responds with a smile while Asriel shakes his head.

"Maybe." She says as she looks to Asriel whom smiles as he shakes his head again.

"Anyways, the main reason Frisk here wished to be here to see you as well was to make friends." Blake blinks with confusion as she looks at the brunette.

"Yeah… I know how painful it can be to not have any friends for the longest time and… I wouldn't want that for anyone." Blake blinks again as she gently smiles.

"I…" She looks away. "Thank you, perhaps we can be…" The dark-haired girl says. Frisk smiles as she looks to Asriel.

"Tonight should be interesting huh Asriel with all going on huh?" Asriel gives a nod as Blake blankly blinks at the two.

It wasn't long till she learned why Frisk was excited. Blake stares up from her seat on the way up to the Dreemurr home. She was caught off guard as despite how she knew this family was her old 'employer' enemy, she expected they to be well defended, but upon passing the gates where one Monster was standing guard, there was no extra defenses besides maybe the odd Dragon butler she sees standing by the door with a young boy.

"About time you two got home!" Chara's voice rings out as he waves to the vehicles, more so towards Frisk and Asriel's vehicle. The one Blake was riding with. Drax gives his own smile as he stands next to Chara.

"Now now, they will be out soon. Remember they are bringing a new house guest today." Drax says as Chara huffs.

"Yeah yeah, you know I am not-" Chara looks up at Drax whom was smiling very joyfully while waiting for Chara to finish. Techinically Chara was the youngest in the family of Monsters. In their eyes he still was a child. "-...Shut it."

"I didn't say anything." Drax says as he looks back at them. Soon Toriel was climbing out of the passenger of the front vehicle while Asgore climbed out of the driver side. Frisk, Asriel, and Blake climb out of the second vehicle as Undyne is seen climbing out of the driver side.

"What a trip…" Undyne says as she looks to the group. "Well you three have a good night alright? I don't want to be chasing any of you down again this week." Undyne say s as the three nod. "Hey Frisk." Frisk jolts as she freezes in place.

"Y-Yes Undyne?" Frisk says as she looks to see the Fish-Monster smiling gently.

"Sorry bout our first meeting, I know it aint nothing special but…" Undyne reaches into the vehicle and pulls out a tin. Asriel and Blake watch from behind. Asriel smiles at this as he recognizes the tin she is handing her.

A very well-crafted metal tin Undyne hands Frisk as she steps up to her. "I screwed up, never been the best at this emotional shit. However… I know now I should work better on it. So I baked a few of my best deserts as an apology… its the only other thing I am rather good at…" Undyne says as she sighs. Frisk opens the tin and her eyes widen at the deserts inside. Several different kinds, white chocolate, caramel, fudge… and that was just a few. The smell was amazing as Frisk looks back to Undyne.

"I… Thank you Undyne. I already forgave you after anyways." Frisk says with a smile. "So don't beat yourself up over it… if you really want to make up for it further...i wouldn't mind learning how to cook and bake from you sometime." Undyne's eye widens as she smiles.

"Yeah sure kid, maybe I can set a day for you to meet Paps too, he has been… learning how to make Pasta with me, but… just trust me don't try it… not yet anyways." Undyne says as she gives a chuckle. "Now get going and have a good night." Frisk nods before turning and leaving with the large tin. Frisk was walking up to the two when two more voices come calling out.

"Lookout below!" The three teens look up to see Fenor and Teina coming down fast…
"NOT THE POND TEINA NOT THE-" A splash as the two crash into the pond with a large tree next to it. Fenor was soaked as Teina was flicking the bit of water on her wings off.

"Teina please do not use our pond as a quick dropzone…" Toriel's voice rings out as Teina chuckles.

"Sorry Miss Toriel!" Frisk could only smile at everyone as soon they were inside in the living room waiting on dinner to be made as Teina tales fill the room as she catches Asriel up on events at school. Blake was in awe as she stares at the group. Friend huh… she remember spending so much time alone.
"...and then that girl, I think her name was Penny? Anyways she slammed her brother Jake in the gut… like I get Jake's behavior sucks, but…" Tenia smiles as she rolls her eyes a bit.
"I think we get it, you like him Teina." Fenor says as he smirks at his family friend.

"S-Shut up, I mean I saw you looking at that girl uh-" "Penny?" "-Yeah! Penny's ass yesterday pretty hard. Seems I'm not the only one crushing on one of the twins." Teina retorts her face matching her hair in color. Fenor gives a cough into his hand looking away bashfully, now feeling bad he let Teina learn her name. She was not going to let him live this down.
"Yes- uh well. How about you Blake, any tales you'd like to share?" Fenor asks changing the subject. Blake blinks then at Fenor with confusion.

"Uh you want me to tell a story?" Fenor smiles as he nods.

"Yes, I would like to learn more about a future friend, and a good way to start in my book is a good tale about ones' self." Fenor says as he looks at her. "Let me start, The day I met Asriel and his mother I had just learned about my magic ability unique to me, we monsters each have one some speak of them some don't. Mine was the ability to deflect magic with ease, it happens almost second nature to me, well back then it was rather chaotic with how it deflects it." Fenor says as Asriel's eyes widen.

"Oh gosh I remember this day!" Asriel says as he smiles at Fenor.

"Wait is this- oh no…." Fenor had a slight dark look towards Teina as she hangs her head.

"Now mind you, this day we were all at the local lake in the Underground for training camp. Teina thought it'd be fine to wear her white flying training outfit near the lake on the ground. Now I met Asriel and he was pretty confident for whom he was then, actually hes past that since hes met you Frisk, however back to the story…" Fenor says as he takes a breather. "… Me and Asriel were playing about doing a ball toss, however Asriel was actually a lil trickster to-boot, one of the tosses he snuck a water orb behind the ball ready to curve ball me in the face." Fenor says as Teina's head rolls into her arms.
"Yeah I did! Oh man it would have been so funny if it worked!" Asriel says. Blake blinks in confusion as she looks at Asriel then Fenor.

"It didn't work?" Blake asks as Fenor nods.

"Quite, it caught us both off guard as I grab it, the orb falls straight towards me however, almost like nothing touched me as it rolled off me and bounced off and hit Teina in the stomach. The orb was quite sized for hiding behind the ball, my ability happens automatically we learned, and it deflected at her instead. She screamed in horror as she was now soaked to the core. However a moment later she was runny as her white clothes where showing her well… choice of underwear." Fenor chuckles at the end as Teina screams into a couch pillow.

"WHY DO YOU STILL REMEMBER THAT? I THOUGHT WE ALL AGREED TO LEAVE THAT BEHIND!" Teina pleas as Fenor and Asriel snicker.

"How could we forget such a day? It was amazing, and it was the day I met you two. I wouldn't forget anything about my friends…" Asriel says as he looks at Fenor and Teina. His eyes turn to Frisk and Chara next to him, then to Blake. "So how bout it Blake wanna tell one?"

Blake blinks as she wants to refuse, however she sighs.

"What is there to tell? I lived a life of solidarity pretty much after my mother's death. The few people I could talk to? Are dead. I lived living with a fear of a scumbag waiting to get his chance to try their hand at getting to me. I was nothing more than a tool to them." Blake says as she sighs. "All my stories involve being told to either kill, steal, or destroy."

"I see… apologies for dragging up bad memories." Fenor's voice echos out. Blake's eyes look up as she sighs seeing his hurt expression. She really was being a bit of a downer.
"I used to dream of helping others." She starts as she looks away towards a window. "Back when my mother was still around, she would tell me stories of these hunters and huntresses as they called themselves. They fought people and beasts whom intended to harm people trying to live their lives. I wanted to be a hero I guess back then." She says as she looks out to the dark sky. "She onetime made me a cloak and said it was made to mimic a very powerful huntress's cloak, told me it would always protect me, sadly it was destroyed with almost everything of my mother's when my room was set aflame by the bastards whom held me."

"Almost?" Teina asks as she looks at Blake whom pulls out the orb from earlier, a gentle blue glow in her hand.

"This was something she gave me moments before the last time I saw her. Told me that if I ever get my chance to run, find any monster and ask 'Where the Dreamers live.' I guess what she actually meant was the Dreemurrs." Blake gives a soft look to Asriel. "I still don't know what I am going to do right now, but I think-" A ringing bell echos in the house as the group looks to see Toriel holding a bell.
"Dinner is ready children, go wash your hands and come eat." Toriel says as she smiles at the group whom nods before doing as she says. As Frisk exits the bathroom from washing her hands shortly after is met with Asriel whom looks like he was waiting for her.

"Everything okay Asriel?" Asriel looks up and smiles at her.

"Yeah. I was wanting to talk to you. Before dinner is that okay?" He asks as she gives a gentle nod before the two walk towards the front door.

"Asriel? Frisk? Is everything okay?" Toriel calls out getting a nod from her son.

"Yeah, just need to talk with Frisk before dinner. Won't be long mom." He replies as they step outside.

"Is everything alright Asriel?" Frisk asks again, he nods as he takes a seat on the porch looking out to the sky.

"Yeah, I just… Frisk tell me, with all that happened recently does that change your opinion of everyone? You've been dealt some bad blows already…" He asks staring up at the stars above.

"I mean sure its been crazy… but I don't think I would change it." She says as she sits next to him.

"Why?" He asks turning to her as she stares to the stars her own.

"Because I have friends now… and got to see so much. I don't think I could go back to my life the way it was, I want to continue to grow." Frisk says as she sighs. "I also realized something while you were unconscious. They were after me… others would have gotten hurt worse than we did… we were somewhat prepared from the attack on you for another attack. We just never expected it to be for me." Frisk says as she stares into the sky.

"I guess your right there. So you want to continue working on this life then huh? So what do you plan to do to keep it then?" He asks as he looks at her as she turns and gives him a serious look in her eyes.

"I… I don't want to fight… but I am starting to realize that it may be the only way to protect people. I still want to save everyone from such a fate though." She says staring up into the night sky.
"Why not do both…?" Asriel asks as he looks at her. "Become someone whom fights for those cannot fight for themselves, and you'll be saving those you can along the way. No one ever said you had to kill, I won't lie though… sometimes to help someone you may have to." Asriel says turning his gaze up into the sky.

"Huh? H-How can killing someone help?!" Frisk asks in horror as she turns to Asriel.

"Say you encountered someone whom was already wounded or perhaps even just got stuck in a prolonged battle. You look at the person you were saving, only to realize their wound is now too grievous to move them, or you won't make it in time even with proper first aid." Asriel says as her eyes widen as she realizes what he means. "Sometimes all you can do is ease the pain, other times… all you can do is make it stop all together. I haven't had to do it, but a mercy ending is not murder as it is a kindness as my mother told me once before."

"Toriel… k-killed?" Frisk asks worried Asriel gave a gentle nod.

"She was a healer at one point in time. This was in her hundreds if I recall from her tale. She had arrived to a scene where a pack of wolves had attack a scout party of Monsters and Humans. It consisted of three monsters and seven humans… out of the ten only one monster lived, and two humans. There was a third human whom was gravely wounded. They had mauled the poor soul, When Toriel arrived she tried to heal him, it was the first person she had ever tended so severely wounded. He had grabbed her arm and shook his head. He knew he was beyond saving so he asked for one thing. To let say goodbye to his comrades and for her to stop his heart with magic… It was a pact back then she didn't know about that anyone whom was beyond saving could request any reasonable mercy ending. Most chose for the calm warmth of this one, they say as magic envelopes you and next… is peace." Asriel says as Frisk nods.

"I understand now… sometimes to bring someone peace you have to end them to stop their pain." Asriel nods at her words.

"Yes, however please remember that there are those whom do not want to calmly go when they know their time is up and there are those whom would gladly take lives without a second thought… Anyways lets head inside and eat. Mom will yell at us if we take any longer." Asriel says as he stands up, offering a hand to Frisk whom takes it and stands up herself. She had a lot to think about, but she knew her friends and family would be right there besides her.

Elsewhere a certain elder-skeleton watched the sky as he rolls a coin in his hand.

"You alright father?" A young voice calls out. The skeleton turns to see his younger of his two sons. This skeleton was wearing an orange vest over a black suit, followed by black suit pants with small thin orange lines.

"Yes Papyrus, just thinking of a strange conundrum." Gaster says as he turns back to the sky.

"Oh? And what would that be?" Papyrus asks with curiosity. Gaster lifts the coin up as he slowly shows both sides.
"Both sides of a coin, are typically different correct?" Gaster asks as he looks at his son whom nods. "Imagine that now instead of two sides of a coin, but two different perspectives. Let us use the incidents with Asriel and dear Frisk as of late." Gaster says as he looks away. "Asriel sees the world in many shades of gray with trauma and secrets like any other. He sees the world differently, but in a similar way to us." Gaster says showing the coin with a Goat head on it. Flipping it over clearly showing a Human head on this side. "Frisk is similar, She has been treated horribly, abused and neglected beyond normal, Yet she sees the world in a series of colors stead of gray. She looks for the best of people despite her own harsh lie-filled path."

"I see… Actually father I don't think I quiet get it." Papyrus says getting a chuckle from his father.

"Just keep that in mind for now; Frisk sees nothing but good and potential, Asriel sees the dark and morbid place the world can be. Now first off; Asriel is part of a dangerous life, he is the heir and son of our family. Our dark and dangerous work, that he is sometimes required to deal with. Frisk is part of an existence that hasn't likely existed for many many years, but perhaps they could still be alive for it is just the mixing of Human and Monster. Blake is a prime example of a hidden one." Gaster says as he flips the coin into the air.
"I see… so they both have a connection to some very disturbing ties, I see some similarities and perspective views… but I don't quite understand where this is going father. Are you saying that their variances are too coincidental?" Papyrus asks as he looks at the coin. "I mean it is weird they were both attacked each by a different group."

"Yes, quite… and yet we forget one factor; Frisk's side is blank for a coin. She has no idea why these people want her other than the idea is she can use magic. And Asriel was attacked because of a brat with a connection to the Trebela family." Gaster says as the coin now shows a blank side and the royal symbol on the other.

"I see so they both hide something and like a perspective of two sides of a coin they can't see what is the story that is behind them…. Hey! WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST EXPLAIN IT LIKE THAT!" Papyrus yells as he stares at his father whom chuckles.
