Ghostly there isn't a lot 6 older UNSC ships can do even if they are more advanced then their COlonial counterparts to stop the blanket nuking of the other colonies if they tried their expendables like MACs which are quite large i dont think destroyers would have room for more then 5 shots and a few hundred missiles thats why the Phoenix class ships should be a part of every fleet with their manufacturing capability to produce new shells, missiles and given time vehicles and im sure replacement battleplate. It ensures a fleet even cut off from resupply could rearm itself given time. As for the tear its temporary the huge numbers of nukes destabilized the slipspace tendril since slipspace is traversing in another zone of space time go check out the youtube video how slipspace works (halo lore) same token to get a good feel for how slipspace would work. Northrigg as for the human mind thing im honestly not sure it would still be recognizable after 40 or so years of cylon existence trace elements maybe but a few 0s and 1s in binary code among hundreds of billions if not trillions of lines of code. We see with the rebellious numbers some humanity remains split into dozens of units.
