New ships will be added based on other fanfics here are the breakdowns…
-Firestars- frigates of various classes will be pulled from other fics but it has a small number of heavy guns backed up by lots of light weapons to serve as anti air platforms.
-Marinestars- heavily armed marine landing ships with a large number of light weapons and missile launchers.
-Gunstars- multiclass ships that can be quickly modified with modules changing them into either Carrier/Frigate or a heavy gun platform depending on the mission.
-Medstars dedicated fleet hospital ships extremely lightly armed and carries several medical raptors.
Captain Brian Jackson of the Able Captain Eric Howler of the Midway sat in the pelican on its way to Scorpios capital city of Celeste to meet with not only General Parks and Admiral Walton but the Colonial Secretary of the interior Elizabeth Horner who had been sworn in as the new President of the colonies after Colonial communications officers had gone back over the received messages and found notice that the former President Richard Adar had been killed when a Cylon decapitation strike had nuked the Caprica City, killing the vast majority of the Governmental body.
The pelican landed on the landing pad of Celeste's planetary government building. As the two men walked down the ramp a half dozen Longswords and Vipers flew by overhead.
As they entered the primary conference chambers they saw sitting at a table the general and admiral with a woman in a ruffled but expensive suit. As they entered the three stood and walked toward them meeting them halfway with hands extended "Greetings Gentlemen, My name is Elizabeth Horner and i'm the new President of the Colonies."
With a sharp salute both UNSC officers rendered honors to the new head of state which she promptly returned with military precision. She waves them towards the table and they all take a seat.
"Im told" President Horner starts with a nod towards the military men on either side of her "That my request was met with your agreement"
"Yes Ma'am until we can find a way back to our own area of space we thought it would be prudent to help another human space faring civilization in the hopes that if we do assist you could lend us your assistance in our war as we have helped in yours." Captain Jackson said.
"Once our borders are secured and people safe I see no reason to deny that." Horner said with her eyes serine and serious "We don't have much of a military at the moment but once you find a way back we will move the world to repay the salvation you have shown us." she promised
Captain Jackson nodded then to start this counterattack my staff has combed through the data on your worlds, Fleet deployments, and the Cylon threat and have formulated several plans. And to be honest the best chance we have of winning with our small numbers is guerilla warfare."
She looks at the translating tablet on the table in confusion "excuse me but what is this term guerilla warfare? I take it you don't presume to run into the Cylons fist swinging and tackle them."
The two UNSC officers looked at each other "No Ma'am it's a term from where we come from it's a strategy for attacking a more numerical enemy rather than…do your people have hand to hand fighting sports?" Captain Eric Howler asked "we have sports like football, rugby, boxing, hockey sports and games that are physically demanding.
Jackson nodded "an easier way to explain is lightning attacks hit hard and retreat to strike somewhere else before the enemy can recover, never meeting them in sustained combat."
The three Colonials nodded understanding as Admiral Walton said "it makes sense we wouldn't want to get tied down fighting a hundred Cylon Baseships with the ships we have now."
Captain Howler nodded "it would be much better to jump in and do as much damage as possible before jumping again to hit another target before they could recover."
Captain Jackson continued howler's line of thought "right now Madam President the major issue we have is the people on the other colonies' most major population centers and planet side military facilities suffered either direct or airburst nuclear strikes. After studying warheads recovered from the Perseus our medical staff estimates in the next two weeks approximately seventy percent of the population remaining on those worlds will die of radiation poisoning."
The thought of possibly millions of people dying that way drained the color from the Colonials' faces leaving them ashen. As the UNSC captains continued "so it is our plan first to evacuate as many people as we can as fast as we can over the next two weeks so they can be given anti-radiation meds. And to that end we believe these two colonies based on the information you gave us would be the best options while leaving enough ships to protect Scorpia and the shipyards."
Howler handed a tablet computer showing the colonies of Virgon and Caprica. Along with information on ships, stations, and ground forces deployed or stationed to the planet at the time of the Cylon assault.
The three Colonials read over the well written information packet slowly and with a nod from both the General and the Admiral the new President shook her head "This plan is very well thought out and I put my faith and trust in your leadership and command prowess to see this done successfully."
It had taken nearly an hour after the meeting for the two strike forces and the defensive force to be assembled. With Scorpio and its shipyards the most important thing for a base the most powerful group task force built around the Artemis and the Atlas carrier Aethon and ten of the berserks would remain behind while the other two strike groups built around the pair of UNSC destroyers would hold a pair Berserks each and a mix of Minotaurs.
Several of the massive MAC shells as well as Archer missiles had been transferred from the Artemis to the Able and Midway to replace what had been expended in the first battle when they arrived General Parks and Admiral Walton were already at work arranging shipments of raw material to the Artemis so she could continue production.
The Able had been joined by the Berserks: Peitcho and Eunomia along with three Minotars: Medusa, Gorgon, and Harpy they would be heading to the Caprica. The most populated colony with nearly five billion humans before the attack calling the world home, and where three entire Battlestar groups had been stationed to defend the capital of the colonies. Each Battlestar group was centered around three Battlestars and thirty seven smaller ships as escorts.
The Midway was joined by the Berserks: Rhode and Aurora and four Minotars: Typhon, Griffin, Scylla, and Hydra. They would be heading to the Colony of Virgon to check the rumors of the Colonial fleet gathering there to stage a counterattack at the same time as the UNSC had arrived. Next to Scorpia Virgon had the largest planetary defense force.
Both fleets would be joined by five Colonial heavy civilian passenger liners that would assist in evacuations. And a single Gemini freighter that had been requisitioned into military service and loaded with a hundred shipyard workers and their equipment to grab everything it could, and assist in repairs of any ship that could use them.
