Hey guys i know i said i was going to do a couple of chapters from the pov of galactica for the first month but to be honest their story is unchanged. Without knowing of the turning in their favor they continue fleeing into deep space. So instead i'll do two more chapters for pegasus to round out the month to bring them to the same date as the UNSC. sorry for the change but i hope you enjoy it regardless.
The cylons detecting the Colonial Battlestar intruder began launching a mix of first war and modern Raiders. With a feral grin Admiral Helena Cain ordered "Open Fire."
The heavy forward guns opened up sending heavy armor piercing shells towards the bigger threat facing them the first war Basestar the first pair of heavy rounds bisected the center of the outdated ship just as the guns spoke once more.
"Multiple Cylon Raiders inbound" called Lieutenant Robert Philips "bearing 223 karim 219"
"Activate defensive batteries" Admiral ZCain ordered 'turn us broadside."
The mighty battlestar began tilting as its forward guns shifted from AP shells to Flakk. Firing until they rotated out of their fixed arc.
The mix of raiders led by the faster and more maneuverable modern ones met the four massive Flakk shells of the heavy cannons spewing canister, the lightly armored craft unable to handle the mass of high speed shrapnel tearing them apart.
As the Pegasus turned broadside to the incoming swarm of raiders to bring the numerous medium and light weapons that adorned its flight pods and flank to bear. With only a third of its air wing with competent pilots the eighty four vipers played a defensive role intercepting both incoming missiles and stray raiders that slipped past the deadly flakk barrier.
The cylons, seeing their fighters unable to break through the Flakk launched missiles, the small high explosive warheads were targeted by Pegasus gunnery crews and they met the same fate as the mixed Raiders. Dying in the thick field of Flakk the old Arachne and Talons escorts moved to close the distance their older kinetic weapons opening up the medium and light shells impacting the Pegasus looking for any kind of weakness but only exploding or skipping harmlessly off the heavy armor.
As enemy shells continued to hammer the modern battlestar Lieutenant Philips occasionally called out as weapons were destroyed or damaged. But Cain paid him no heed watching the last of the Raiders detonate into debris as her vipers gunned them down. Looking at the flight reports she had lost only three vipers and a single pilot; the rescue raptors were already pulling the ejected pilots to safety.
With fighter space superiority in the hands of the Colonials. The four squadrons of Vipers regrouped and went on the attack, splitting up to hammer the Talons. Cain lifted the headset to her ear and listened in on the CAGs squadron.
"Ok boys and girls according to old records" Stinger reminded his pilots "these Talons are lightly armored but heavily armed with light and medium anti air batteries so watch your frakking ass and hammer their chrome asses."
Cain watched over the active DRADIS as it watched the four squadrons line up and unload their guns on the targeted Talons, the advanced cannons on the Mk lVs punching through the old armor the cylons hadn't bothered on modernizing. Explosive decompressions and exploding ordnance ripped the two old escort carrier frigates into expanding debris fields.
The squadrons turned towards the others further splitting up seeing that two squadrons were overkill and sent a squadron after each of the old cylon escorts.
The small missile batteries on the old baseship stopped firing as they depleted their small box launchers, switching over their impressive numbers of medium and small cannons with a feral grin Cain ordered "bring us bow on and hit them again with the heavy cannons."
The Pegasus no longer needing their Flakk switched over to AP shells again firing as it turned to bring the heavies back on target. Even as the fourth and last of the Talons detonated under the guns of the Pegasus small airwing leaving the fighters to bear down on the pair of Arachne assault carriers trying to cover the shipyard.
Without any fighters the assault carriers used their missiles to target the incoming vipers. The missiles while outdated still proved deadly as four of the vipers countermeasures didn't fool the target lock the missiles had and the small fighters exploded a second salvo of missiles were fired just as the numerous light and medium guns opened fire.
The fighters used every trick they knew to evade the incoming shells and dodge the missiles streaking for them using both physical countermeasures like chaff and flares and electrical jamming to break the lock the missiles had.
Cain watched the DRADIS as the mass of Pegasus vipers ducked and weaved throughout the cascade of shells, flakk and missiles. Sporadically through the mass of vipers missiles launched as pilots who still had them fired targeting clusters of weapons or missile launchers. The Arachne fired several salvos of flares and chaff but the more advanced tracking software wasn't fooled as the missiles slammed into the two assault carriers knocking guns and missile launchers out of action.
The fighters closed to cannon range and opened fire aiming for the smoldering ruins or missile strikes and other operational weapons. It took four passes and the loss of two more vipers one KIA to see the who carriers fracture and send fragments into the shipyard and the under construction new Basestar causing secondary explosions that saw more then two thitds of the massive space station explode leaving a chunk the size of a Firestar slowly drifting towards the planet to burn up in the frozen planets atmosphere.
"DRADIS is clear ma'am no further Cylon targets." reported Robin Pirelli from her Dradis station
"Excellent." said a stoic Cain "land our birds and prepare to jump. We will hit a few more possible cylon shipping areas before we ease our way back into colonial space for some recon."
Over the next four days marking a week and a half since the start of the rekindling of the cylon war Pegasus hit and destroyed four more shipyards and claimed six more cylon Basestars and almost two dozen older escort ships but not without losses several shells and missiles had hit under armored sections of the Pegasus and vented nearly a hundred crewmen and women into space before they could cordon off sections of the ship.
Pilots had taken losses as well, losing nearly forty of their trained viper pilots and almost as many cross trained pilots. While the manufacturing bays could replace a viper in a few hours training a pilot took weeks ideas were raised everything from running away witch Cain immediately shot down to trying to find other Colonial forces and link up with them.
However the decision was interrupted when a comms specialist intercepted a coded Cylon transmission for reinforcements from the armada over Picon handing the redout to Cain one line stuck out "Titan class deployment requested."

Mend1cant Bias yes i understand that the Colonies of man was 1 system but take a moment to consider if all 12 worlds are in a single system how mind boggling massive that system would have to be i mean it four stars independent of each other and yet close enough to be considered a single star system while also being far enough apart for the planets to not get ripped out of their orbit and either get thrown into deep space or smash into other planets moons gas giants etc it just makes it feel better to have 4 independent solar systems but practically on top of each other in astrological terms say 1 or 2 light years away from each other. Because let's face it if they had all been inside of a single solar system the cylons would of expanded around them after the first war and not a single ship much less fighter would of escaped the nuclear hellfire.
Nothrigg i was thinking the same thing to draw some of the cylons forces away from the assault on Scorpia and the UNSC forces there.
EricFreak Gina is still alive just held prisoner i dont think ill change anything the torture the Pegasus crew put her through cant be made worse or better tbh im surprised she didnt just self terminate after a few days she may be cylon but her body is still human pull hard enough with the enhanced strength and she could of amputated her hand and bled out before medics could arrive.
Darlok yes im going to start skipping around a few months because starbuck returned around the 7 or 8 month mark if i remember right because they were on new caprica for a year they wont be resentful to the entire fleet because adama will have forty something ships with him and nearly a hundred thousand survivors pegasus as we will see was involved in numerous war crimes if the 12 colonies are anything like the US and british government they sound like firing squad or airlock will be the best they get.

Darkfinder they are in a area of space their astrological computers cant even make out constellations we know of on earth or any planet the UNSC has settled im leaning to a distant galaxy maybe the andromeda galaxy where the Halo universe is in the milky way galaxy.
