Dalresin stepped in front of Anevere expecting an intruder, only to find a man dropped against a wall. "Who- How? How did this happen Anevere?" He rushed to Moiraine, picked her up and put her on their bed. "I- I don't know, he came fr-from the window. Moiraine was standing at your door, he rushed towards her but I think he tripped on something. She- something happened. Light from her hand I- I don't know."

"It's okay sweetheart come here." He wrapped Anevere in his embrace and looked at Moiraine, she seemed pale, her skin had a glowing tint. His wife's words appeared in his mind. "She isn't who we think she is."

Moiraine woke up 20 minutes later, her body was exhausted, she was scared but she kept a straight face seeing Anevere. Dalresin helped her up and gave her some water. Once the situation had calmed he softly asked her what had happened. "A man, he- he came towards us. B-but we could not hear him. He came closer and we, we were yelling but you could not hear us. I- I don't know what I did he, he tried to attack with a knife but I grabbed his arm. I- I got scared and angry and suddenly something, like a light came out from my h- hand and he, he flew backwards and I- I don't remember anything after that."

Her mother spoke with a hint of thought in her voice "Channeling, Moiraine channeled. I knew something was wrong with her." Dalresin spoke, his voice laced with anger. "Do not speak to her that way Miane."

"Dad what is channeling?" Moiraine asked with a voice softer than she had expected. Miane piped up once again. "Channeling, Moiraine, is a form of magic. A form of power held by people known as the Aes sedai." She turned her attention to Daleresin. "You do know what will happen if our people find out she is a wilder. The future of our nation, more importantly your sweethearts life will be in jeopardy if this gets found out. You know what has to be done."

Moiraine did not like her mothers tone, what would they do with her. Dalresin cupped Moiraine's face. "Your mother, is right. We cannot let anyone find out, at least, not now. Moiraine you will train to control the power under your uncles and aunts guidance."

She did not understand her parents words, everything was going too fast. Her father kissed her forehead. "Get some rest for tonight, tomorrow morning I will talk to you about everything and, how things will change." He saw the hesitation in her eyes. "How about I stay with you and Anevere tonight?" Moiraine smiled slightly and nodded, he smiled back and took the two to their room.

Dalresin sat on the bed, Moiraine in his lap and Anevere hugging her. His eyes welled up with slight tears. Within one night everything they had thought would happen, the future they had planned for Moiraine, her safety, everything had changed.

Moiraine awoke the next day to find her uncle in the living room. She frowned, he was her mothers brother and they both never liked each other. In fact her dad too used to have never ending arguments with him. Anevere also did not like the man and hid behind Moiriane. As always she wanted to protect Anevere from arguments in the house, telling her to leave and not show herself until all of it was over. She was hesitant, but listened to her older sister and left.

Her uncle spoke with a slight sneer as he looked at Moiraine. "I see, so you have managed to channel." Moiraine said nothing but did not break eye contact with him. "You're a bold child, you wont be easy to control, will you?" She once again said nothing. The look she gave him seemed almost threatening, daring him to say something stupid. He did not like being challenged, and it was evident in how his sneer died down and a frown replaced it. "Listen here Moiriane, we have our differences, we don't like each other. But you must listen to me and your aunt. And if you do not, all I can say is you will not live much longer, and you will watch your parents die."

The last part of his statement caught Moiraine off guard, she looked at her father confused. Her father sighed, knowing this time he could not bend the statement. "He is right Moiraine. Cairhien tolerates channelers amongst common people, they too are sent away. But if it is found out that they are part of the royal house, and a wilder especially, you will be banished and all faith will be lifted off our ruling powers. They will turn on us. This, would not have been the case a few years ago Moiraine, but due to the recent wars, our enemies, we have a strong feeling you will not be accepted. And, and I want to protect you. You will stay under their guidance, hiding your powers here in the Sun palace, and when it is time I will send you to train formally."

"You will send me away?" Moiraine asked as her eyes grew slightly wider trying to understand everything they just said. Dalresin nodded. "Yes Moiriane, being a wilder is not safe. You will have no control over your powers and people will not accept you, aes sedai will hunt for you. But- but training itself does not mean you must give up your throne. A type of an aes sedai can still be queens as well, we shall see what happens once that time comes." Miane sighed at Dalresin's words, to her it was all false hope being given to the girl.

"Moiraine." Anevere's soft voice broke through her thoughts. "Anevere, I told you not to come here until I was done. What happened?" "Are you going to be sent away?" Moiraine froze, she didn't think Anevere had heard all of that. "Why- how long were you standing here?" "A while."

"I- Give me a few minutes. I will tell you everything I promise." She kissed Anevere's head and sent her off. She turned back to all of them, she had questions and they would have no choice but to answer.

Moiraine sat in their room in silence, Anevere laying her head in her lap anticipating some conversation. "Anevere, I- I will be getting sent away. But not now. In a few years time, until then I will be with you, with dad." She smiled softly, hoping not to make Anevere sad. However, Anevere was not happy with her response and asked her why she seemed happy.

"I am not happy I am leaving, but I am happy I'm staying a few years. I am only 11 they will not send me away until I am at least 16 or 17 to be safe, that's how long they think the fights in Cairhien will last. 5 years Anevere, I can do so much with you. And then when I leave you will be all grown up and we can write letters to each other. When I come back we can rule together, but don't tell mom, we all know she will hate it if I rule. Imagine if she finds out we're together. By the light we will not see the next day." She chuckled and Anevere did too.

"You will be back, right Moiraine?" Anevere asked with hopeful eyes after a moment of silence. "Yes, yes I will be back. I don't know when, but I will return and I will bring you gifts and show you my powers. I promise." Silence fell between the siblings again but Moiraine broke it by sending Anevere to go play with her friends.

She sat alone on her bed, in silence looking at her and her sisters stuff. What was happening? While she tried to be hopeful and happy in front of Anevere, she felt something tugging inside her, as if she did not believe the same words that came out of her mouth.
