"Harrison James Potter…." Her voice rings in his ear as a warning signal in his head. He opens one eye from his spot with his head in Parvati's lap. "You have not even looked at your egg and the Task is in a week!" Hermione worried.

"That's not true." Harry spoke softly. "I opened it the other day."

Hermione waved her hands exasperated. "But you don't know what it says." She looks at Fleur. "And you haven't spoken to him about it either."

Fleur looks sheepish as Harry sits up. "First off Fleur and I agreed to tell each other hints if needed to figure it out and neither of us have." He glares slightly before smiling "And I do know what it says. These things will just fall into place like usual."

" McGonagall would scold you for relying on what she constantly refers to as "dumb luck", and Oh really?" Hermione looked upon her best friend with doubt. "Then what does it say?"

"Yes Hermione it says SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Harry's voice somehow does a perfect replica of the screeching from the golden egg causing the girls to cover their ears. "See? I know what it says." The girls glare at Harry as Hermione folds up her book.

"Right or left side?"

"Right." Harry leans his head to the left letting Hermione swing her book at him. "Ow…"

"Next time be mindful of others near you Harry."

"I quite agree Harry…especially since my ears are more sensitive. " Fleur rubbed her ears. Due to her ability to fly in her avian form her ears were more sensitive similar to how birds do.

"Sorry Fleur…" Harry smiles sheepishly and kisses her cheek.

"Either way Harry, you still don't know the type of dialect it is."

Luna, who had been reading, looked up. "It's mermish"

Hermione froze and slowly looked at her. "What?"

"It's mermish. The language of the Merpeople." She says so casually Harry has to stop himself from laughing. Neither of them noticed how pale Fleur had become.

"See Hermione, things fall in order." Harry grinned. "What does it say?"

"Something something voices sound, we can not sing above the ground." Luna says as she taps her quill to her lips in thought. "Sorry it's been a minute since I practiced." She explained. " something about searching and pondering, they have taken what you sorely miss. If you don't find it in an hour you may never get it back."The gang look at each other then Luna. "What? I practice with dad during the summer."

"Only you Luna." Padma chuckles from her spot on Harry's feet. "So something of Harry's will be taken. Well that ain't so bad…um" Her eyes see Fleur. "Is Flower alright?"Harry turns and sees for himself her reaction and reaches for her, setting his hand on her, causing Fleur to jump.

She quickly apologizes in French "forgive me…" Her voice is so soft as she looks down.

"What's wrong?"

"Veela and Merfolk have had an uneasy truce since the last time our people went to war….not to mention the water is how you say…." Fleur glares as if she's trying to find a word.

"Bad?"

"Dangerous?"

"Unwelcoming?"

"Stifling?"She points at Hermione when she says the final word.

"Yes that. It stifles Veela's true nature. We are beings of air and fire. Passion and fury. Love and Hate. The water it ...chills our very souls my magic may be…how you say frantic."

Harry nodded in understanding and took her hand in his squeezing it. "I'll be right by your side the entire way." Fleur squeezed his hand back and laid her head on his shoulder.

"Merci."

"Okay so that's the task…but you still need to prepare for going underwater Harry. Unless you can hold your breath for an hour." Parvati acknowledged as she rubbed Fleurs back from behind Harry. "Fleur knows the bubble head charm but that is a bit advanced for you."

Neville, who had been sitting near them, looked up. "Why not Gillyweed?"

"Kinda late for orders Neville." Padma pointed out and tapped her thumb. "Unless we steal from Snape."

Harry's grin slowly grew before a quick look from Hermione. "Actually…he's been giving me a wide berth this year. It might be better not to do that. But I might have an idea. Just wait and see." He smiled as everyone looked at him.

"This is gonna be horrible isn't it?" Parvati asked Hermione who nodded.

"I'll have Madam Pomfrey on standby…"

"I'm not that accident prone am i?" Harry asked them as they all stood and began walking away. "Girls?...Girls?"

~The Night Before The Trial~

Dumbledore walked up the steps calmly and happily until he opened the Ravenclaw dormitory with Professor Flitwick by his side.

"Dumbledore, do you truly believe this is the correct course of action?"

"Indeed I do Professor Flitwick." Dumbledore nodded as he looked at his friend. "You know it must be someone close to the champions."

"But sir…" Flitwick says before stopping and staring in shock past him.

"I understand the wish for the safety of our students and I promise I will do the utmost.." Dumbledore had his head turned to Flitwick the entire time as he raised his foot to take a step and lost his balance until he stopped at the wall. "Wow!..." He groaned and shook his head a bit to get rid of the disorientation.

"Albus are you alright?" Flitwick asked his old friend and walked over to check on him.

"Oh I am fine Flitwick." Albs wiped himself down and turned to face stairs to the girls dormitory and his jaw dropped.

The stairs were missing.

Gone.

Disappeared.

End of Story

Goodbye

The End.

…any questions?

Well yes. Albus Dumbledore did in fact have one solitary question.

"Where in the name of Merlin are the stairs?!" Albus pulled the Elder Wand from his cloak and waved it to make stairs appear but the flooring shook as if someone had laid cement over the flooring and refused to let it move. "How…."

"Headmaster if I may offer a hypothesis?" Flitwick asked.

"What is it Filius?" Albus' voice was slightly raised in frustration as the steps wouldn't form.

"Perhaps someone is preventing you from doing so." Flitwick pondered. "Someone with a friend and a significant other."

"Harry?" Filius nodded to Albus' answer to the theory. "Perhaps…but I will not be stopped." He apparated to the next level and walked to the girl's dormitory silencing his footsteps as he approached and looked in both the fourth years and the third years before apparating back down besides Filius.

"So?" Filius asked and noticed he had not brought either girls. "Where is Miss Patil or Miss Lovegood?" Albus did not answer. "Albus?"

"He figured it out…" Albus brought up and looked around before heading off.

"Albus?" Flitwick asked as he watched Albus rush through the door.

A few minutes later Albus stopped and sat down in his office in thought. How could he have known?! He figured it out somehow….some way! Harry Potter had figured out who it would be ... .then a smile pulled on his lips as an idea came to mind and he moved from his chair.

~The Day of The Second Trial~

Everyone met up at breakfast with Harry sitting there happy as can be. He outthought the tournament. He had brought all his girls besides Fleur down to the chamber to rest. The only one who had said no had been Hermione. Harry smiled as he spoke to them before seeing Fleur running to the table.

" 'Arry! My sister….Gabriella…she is missing!" She looked at him in fear and he wrapped his arms around her holding her before looking back at the Gryffindor table and saw that Hermione had been missing as well.

"She's not the only one…Hermione would be down by now." Harry cursed as he wished he had convinced her to come into the chamber for the night. Damn her stubbornness….., Harry thought but felt a small chuckle in his chest at it knowing that was pure Hermione. He looked over and noticed Cedric looking around lost.

Then Harry turned and looked up at the head table. And what he saw was that damn twinkle and the grandfatherly smile.
