A New Cause: Offense

SLAM! Gendo was thrown against the brimstone walls by the Apocalyptic Horseman of Pestilence, under orders from the inferno masters that they never saw for his disobedience.

"Urgh!" He grunted as he fell to the ground and slowly got back up.

"Each member of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are bestowed only seven chances, Gendo of the Damned," Conquest/Pestilence informed him again. "You only get seven on your tarnished soul. After informing the inferno masters of your disobedience in the failed apprehension of the Restorative Horseman of Death, your number of opportunities to do your duty to Hell has been reduced to your last two chances. If you fail two more times, if you so much as refuse to follow an order I give you, you will return to your personal pit of despair and burn for the remainder of your eternity. You understand?"

Gendo frowned and looked at him.

"I will never understand why they decided to use dead people as members of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. It would be easier to use demons like myself, as we have more of the endurance and are more capable than a former mortal."

Gendo expressed that he understood his orders and the repercussions, albeit bitterly, and walked away.

"Also, should we encounter the Restorative Horseman of Death again, you won't lay a smoldering finger on him," Conquest/Pestilence ordered him.

"What?" Gendo asked.

"Not only are you forbidden to face him, but know that he is like the Restorative Horseman of Conquest and Pestilence. He is mine to destroy."

"On what grounds can you usurp my chaotic right to face and defeat the Restorative Horseman of Death? What gives you the right?"

"Don't question my reasons or my orders."

In a patch of darkness, isolated from the rest of Hell, the demonic Conquest/Pestilence, in his solitude, recalled the ugly feeling he got when he faced the weakened Death, the Endgame. Even when he was deteriorated, crippled and stripped of a vast majority of his strength, he still did something that should've been impossible, even for a former member of mortality that went down a dark and self-destructive road that he couldn't escape from, even if he wanted to. This made Conquest/Pestilence clench his claws.

To think that a fallen soul of the flesh like this Death, the Endgame could make me feel fear, even for an instant, he thought, recalling the memory of Death, the Endgame, without a jaw, without hair on his head, saturated with the primordial blood of Lilith, and holding a piece of the wall that he had wielded as a makeshift blade. He ignited my sense of fear…even if it was only momentarily. No one has done so before…and he will pay for such an act.

A/N: A shorty, I know, but it will progress in the future. This is just to show that Gendo's actions aren't tolerated, even in Hell, and that the Apocalyptic Horseman of Conquest/Pestilence was affected by the Restorative Horseman of Death, something he doesn't take kindly to, and will desire revenge.
