Chapter 10
Brooke kissed me back. And from the look on her face and in her eyes.
I knew she was giving me another chance.
I had let Brooke fall through my fingers. Let her walk away without a fight.
This time I had to give this as much time and effort as possible.
I was cautious when our first date happened.
But as that date turned to a second then third and we just continued to spend time together talking and making memories.
As the people we were now. I slowly began to let my guard around my heart down.
Our friends found out about us being a couple again and were surprised.
But truly happy excited and hopeful for us. Especially Karen and thoherse
(We love Brooke and we could never of imagined that the two of you would get another chance after whats already happened.) Karen explained.
As the mother and son settled into the living room.
Of the family home.
(I got lucky in ways I could of never imagined.)
(Brooke is the greatest person and I'm not going to repeat past mistakes.)
(I want a life and future with Brooke more than anything.) Lucas proclaimed.
Karen hugged him tightly. As their lunch together came to an end.
Karen felt Keith's arms wrap around her.
She looked up at him.
(You're really not going to tell him?) Keith asked.
(No if things work out like we hope. Those two will end up together. Marriage. Grandchildren.)
(This is their time to figure it out together. Promise me. You won't tell Lucas.) Karen proclaimed.
(Of course I won't. I don't like lying to him but I know how important it is that no one finds out.) Keith replied.
Karen leaned over and kissed him.

Months later
After 6 months of being a couple and reconnecting. Brooke was frantically searching through her closet. Trying to figure out what to pack for her weekend away with Lucas.
She knew what this weekend was about. Besides spending time together.
They were in love. And she had pushed away the thoughts and feelings. She had for months now. But she was ready to give herself to him in every way.
