Chapter 2: Wolf's Den (Start)
It has been a week since Kiryu and Issei were saved by their respective kings, who reincarnated them as Devils/members of their peerages. And both have taken all Pawns within the said Evil Pieces. Kiryu had seven Pawns and more mutated pieces than his brother. Issei had eight Pawns, and four of them were mutated pieces. Both were surprised by that and learning about the Three Factions to even their own Devil Faction's history such as after the Great War, war on hold, the Civil War, and rise of the Anti-Satan Faction was still rebuilding the Underworld.
The twin brothers also have started more of their daily training to improve during their week of becoming Devils. Of course, they kept the system thing quiet and had a good cover-up on wanting to improve themselves being reasonable. And thanks to completing their daily quest to quests, they have unlocked their Sacred Gears.
Kiryu's Sacred Gear turns out to be the Absorption Line, which is rumored to have one of the Five Dragon Kings - Prison Dragon, known as Vritra. Absorption Line gives the user the ability to create lines that can absorb the power of the person/thing it is connected to back to the user or into something else by said user's choice. Issei happens to be the more powerful and more well-known dragon, one of the Heavenly Dragons. His Sacred Gear was Boosted Gear, which doubles the user's abilities for ten seconds and lasts for as long as the user's stamina goes on.
Kiryu also started to think about how things have changed for him in the past week and getting to know his fellow peerage members to even get to know Sona more often. Sona has shown to be very honored to have Kiryu as a part of her peerage and glad that he was an expert chess player. And yes, she did like the fact, he was more mature than his twin. When the pair don't have class and are not playing chess, Sona helps Kiryu with his Sacred Gear and teaches him different types of magic, like teleportation and barriers. Sona feels very comfortable around Kiryu, secretly wishing to become more than his friend & master, but she needs to be professional. And we will leave it at that for now.
With the Queen, it was similar to Sona yet different, and Kiryu could see that being good to help her out. Tsubaki likes having Kiryu in the peerage as he always knows how to cheer her up when she's stressed out from her job. She has shown to grow a bit jealous whenever Kiryu is hanging out with Sona, although she doesn't show such emotion and keeps things professional.
With a Bishop, back then, Momo and Kiryu originally had a few short conversations with each other before Kiryu joined the peerage & student council fully. Momo grew attracted to Kiryu as she always cautioning him to be careful and not to push himself too much in training. In that said training, the white-haired teen girl helps teach Kiryu different types of magic as well, especially illusion magic and something the teen keeps in mind. The brown-haired teen was protective towards Momo, not liking guys trying to get close to her or compare her to other women at Kuoh Academy.
Another knight besides Tomoe, Bennia who was half Grim Reapper and joined Sona's peerage, which she gave a cold shoulder towards the new member. She later warmed up to the brown-haired teen after seeing his progress despite only one week and formed a little sibling relationship with the older teen.
With a Rook, Tsubasa, who doesn't have any problems with Kiryu, and both have a deep respect for each other. She would oftentimes have hand-to-hand sparing matches with the new member of the peerage after school. The blue-haired teen woman became attracted to the brown-haired teen after one of their matches resulted in him becoming a bit sweaty and muddy.
A fellow Pawn who was helping the new one to understand promotion abilities and hangs out with the brown-haired teen, but the first meeting wasn't so good. For starters, Ruruko happens to be the most violent person in the peerage. From day one, she threatened Kiryu not to commit any perverted actions on her king & fellow peerage members or suffer a deadly curse from her sword. But later on, Ruruko warms up to having Kiryu in the peerage, and the pair bond over their love for sword fighting. He also chuckled in amusement when he saw the fox threatening Issei not to look at her fellow members in a perverted way.
The last member of the peerage who happens to be another Rook and doing online college classes is Mephilia Garou, who happens to be a Lycan (werewolf), much to Kiryu's surprise when first meeting her. She, like a certain white-haired girl from Rias's peerage, doesn't talk much nor show much of her emotions due to her past trauma before Sona found her. She doesn't even talk with her fellow members but listens to her king and slowly grows into her new pack. However, she has expressed herself around the brown-haired teen, finding him attractive and wanting him as her mate. Her Lycan side would come out anytime a girl who's not in the peerage tries to get anywhere close with Kiryu and resulting in Sona keeping Mephilia not part of watching over him when needed. And during meetings, she would rest her head on Kiryu's lap, only allowing him to pet her head and even play with her tail. The pair also would do sparring matches whenever the other wasn't busy, as the Lycan wanted to make sure her chosen mate was in good fighting shape.
"Mephilia had told me that she doesn't mind her fellow female member of the peerage being around me because they are her only freinds and family. She doesn't want to make them sad," Kiryu thought, recalling what the Lycan woman had told him and how she had given him a bone-crushing hug. Luckily, he was a Devil to be strong enough to withstand that superhuman strength hug from her.
Currently, we see Kiryu talking with two fellow members of the peerage and student council. The first was a young woman with wavy, stunning white hair, blue-green colored eyes, good skin tone, and a good figure that many compared to some of Kuoh's beauties. Her attire was the Kuoh Academy girl's school uniform, and she carried her handbag.
The second was a young teen woman with long black hair in a ponytail that seemed almost like a tail of sorts, red orange colored eyes, and had pale skin tone that didn't ruin her beauty but drew her in. She also had fox-like ears and a single tail but was using her race magic of illusion to hide them. Her attire was a Kuoh Academy girl's school uniform but had a green jacket, a long black skirt with matching heeled boots, and a kendo sword on her right hip to use, but it was secretly a cursed sword.
They are Momo Hanakai and Ruruko Nimura, fellow members of the student council & Sona Peerage.
"It seems you are coming along good," Momo commented.
"That's good to hear. It may have been a week, but a lot has happened," Kiryu admitted, feeling that the week was longer from the training of daily quests, from his fellow peerage members, and learning magic to his Sacred Gear.
"True, but you are coming along good. Also, president by tomorrow would explain what handing out those filers are for and part as our Devil jobs," Momo informed.
"Like making deals or something?" Kiryu asked out of curiosity.
"Something like that," Momo replied.
"Annoying people," Ruruko said with a blank tone on her face and in her cold voice, finding some of those people and their request to be annoying.
"Some of those requests are annoying, Ruruko," Momo agreed, something that Kiryu noticed.
"What kind of request are those Devils Jobs?" Kiryu asked.
"Depending on who requests, but some of them happen...well, very pervert men, and let's leave it at that," Momo replied after seeing Ruruko growl a bit and, best to change the subject.
"Fair enough," Kiryu agreed with a frown, knowing how the black-haired fox could be like around certain people.
"You traitor/You are hanging out with Rias and other girls in ORC/What are their breast sizes?!" A certain duo of idiots shouted and questioned Issei, who had just walked out of the old school building.
Kiryu sighed and knew this was going to be a headache caused by those two idiots but would have to deal with them and also check up on his brother.
"Momo, Ruruko, I will see you two tomorrow for the morning meeting. I will handle this and break up the confrontation," Kiryu said with a frown.
"Be careful, Kiryu. You don't want to get into trouble by causing harm onto fellow servants...even if they are pervert idiots," Momo advised.
"I could scare them," Ruruko offered, bringing out her kendo sword that transformed into an actual katana sword with black and blue flames.
"True, and don't worry, I won't break bones or crack skulls on those idiots for now. I will handle it," Kiryu assured to his fellow Devils.
The pair nodded their head and took their leave after a goodbye in their way, leaving Kiryu to handle this mess that his brother has found himself in with the likes of Matsuda and Motohama. It wasn't the first time, and he had a feeling it won't be the last either, but time to deal with some idiots.
"Do you two have a problem with my brother? Cause...I would be very happy to fix that," Kiryu said as his voice became menacing and a deep threat before a dark yet purple menacing aura surrounded him.
This scared Matsuda and Motohama enough to run for their lives, much to Kiryu's amusement and Issei's surprise. The younger brother was surprised when his older twin looked at him, turning his attention and jumping in shock to some scare.
"You are not causing trouble for Rias and your fellow peerage members, have you?" Kiryu asked with a frown, having some of that menacing aura still around him.
"Uhh, no, no, no, of course not, brother!" Issei waved his hands up in defense and reply, not wanting to piss off his older brother.
Kiryu frowned and raised an eyebrow as he couldn't tell if Issei was lying or not. Then the main doors of the old school building opened and got the pair's attention.
"Is there something wrong? I sense an odd disturbance out here," A woman asked, revealing herself to be Rias Gremory, who's the current heiress of the Gremory Clan, president of ORC, and king of the peerage that Issei belongs in.
"Rias, did my brother do or say anything too perverted to you or the other girls? Please be honest," Kiryu asked, looking at the crimson-haired beauty.
"Oh? Well, Issei has looked but has never done anything out of place and has been taking training seriously. I take it you have been pushing that motion into my pawn, Kiryu?" Rias replied before asking the brown-haired teen.
"I do my best on that even if he's an idoit at times," Kiryu shrugged his shoulders.
"Hey!" Issei shouted in defense.
"He hasn't done anything out of place, right?" Kiryu questioned.
"Not since the first day when I took a shower, but the full week? No, he hasn't caused trouble, and like I said, he's been focused on his training and handing out filers for his future devil jobs," Rias replied, not seeing the first day as a bad start but improvements and could tell that Kiryu has been trying to put that effect onto Issei.
Kiryu sighed and then said, "Alright. I would let it slide for just this one, but you have permission to blast Issei if he ever looks at you or the other girls in perverted ways, Rias."
That surprised Issei and caused him to freeze in place.
"I understand, Kiryu. As the president of the Occult Research Club and heir of the Gremory family, you have my word that Issei will be punished if he looks at me or any other girl in such perverted ways," Rias assured, making Issei a bit fear for his life.
"Do I get a say in this?" Issei asked.
"Nah/Nope," Kiryu and Rias replied at the same time, much to Issei's future punishment to come if he steps out of line or faces Koneko's wrath.
Issei can't tell which is worse, but in his case, it might be all three combined.
"Besides, I'm saving myself for someone else, and I would admit I'm jealous of Sona's luck on having Kiryu in her peerage," Rias thought as she stared at Kiryu with a low, lustful smile on her face but replaced it before he noticed it.
Then, all of a sudden, Kiryu and Issei's system sent them with a message to a possible quest option for them. They tested the system and only they could see it. The message read as the following;
New Quest - Wolf's Den
Discovery: A Gate has been located nearby you
Goal: Defeat one dungeon boss
Reward: Experience points, 4 bonus stats, and rare loot boxes
"Sorry to cut this talk short, Rias, but my brother and I better get home before our parents begin to worry. Tell the girls I said hi," Kiryu said, waving goodbye and taking Issei with him to leave for the day but would do this quest.
"Alright, I'll see you two tomorrow," Rias responded.
Once they were far enough away and double checking to be sure they weren't being followed, Kiryu hummed and checked the message of this new quest again to open up a map screen to find where this 'gate' was located.
"Umm, are we going home or doing this gate thing?" Issei asked, being a bit unsure.
"We're going home, but tonight, we are doing this quest at this gate, which is called Wolf's Den. It is like Duegon from of those RPG games, we would most likely get adventure and run for our money but I think we will get good training from it," Kiryu explained, being reasonable.
"Should we tell Rias, Sona, or anyone about it?" Issei questioned.
Kiryu hummed before frowning and spoke, "At the moment, no. Let's keep it a secret, as I don't know if these gates are well known or not. And it's not lying. We are training, after all."
"Oh, okay, makes sense. Should we tell eventually?" Issei asked.
"In time and when they ask us fully now, we will come clean on Gates training. For now, let's head up, have dinner, spend time with Mom & Dad, and then sneak out for this quest," Kiryu replied, getting a nod from his brother.
"Oh, did you work on your teleportation magic?"
"Um,m no...should I?"
"Damn it (sigh). I'll pick you up for teleportation, and you are getting more training in magic."
"Oh boy, this is going to be a long one."
The pair was ready to face whatever awaited them in the Wolf's Den at their first gate.
