I do not own Pokémon at all. Also, the idea is not original per se. A YouTuber's video gave me ideas. I also talked to said YouTuber personally, and he helped out. His name is EliteMJ, go look him up on YouTube, his videos are very well-made.
As the three friends traveled into Viridian Forest to get to Pewter City for Aaron's Gym Battle with the Boulder Badge, Franklin didn't say anything about what he saw the night before, as he didn't know WHAT he saw. They took a break in the forest and set up lunch when a pair of Nidoran ran out of some bushes and towards the trio. The Friends saw them and saw a man chasing the Nidoran with his Mankeys and Primeape.
"Hey, kids, hand over those Pokémon!" the Man said to the group. Aaron looked at the two before looking back at him and said, "Yeah, I don't think so." The Man growled as he shouted, "GET ME THOSE POKÉMON!" The Mankeys and Primeape charged at the trio as they sent out their Pokémon. Aaron shouted, "REI USE Thunder Shock! Charles! Use Dragon Tail! Wilbur String shot to slow them down! Zane, use Sand attack!
"Oddish use Acid! Bulbasuar use Vine Whip! Weedle, help Wilbur with String shot!" Franklin shouted as Daphne shouted, "Eevee, help with the Sand Attack! Squirtle, use Tackle! Spearow, use Gust!" All 10 of their Pokémon charged at the Mankeys and Primeape with their moves, sending some Mankey backward and got others stuck while the Primeape charged through the moves. Wilbur and Weedle turned their combined String Shot onto the Primeape, but it used its fists to catch the string shot and slammed into Weedle and Wilbur.
Zane and Franklin's Spearow kept Mankeys distracted while Charles and Bulbasaur used Dragon Tail and Vine Whip to send them away. Aaron then realized that the Hunter had one Pokéball, and with the Primeape being there, he deduced that the Mankeys were wild Pokémon, so when one was weakened enough, he threw a Pokéball at it, and it went into the Pokéball. While that happened, the Primeape charged at the Nidoran to attack, but Weedle and Wilbur got in the way of it and kept protecting them until Primeape slammed into the two again. But still, they fought to protect the Nidorans when they began to glow.
"What the?!" Shouted the hunter. Aaron and his friends watched as Wilbur and Weedle grew and changed into a Metapod and Kakuna. Aaron scanned them, and his Pokédex said, "Metapod, the Cocoon Pokémon and the evolved form of Caterpie. A pure Bug type, a steel-hard shell protects its tender body. The Pokémon quietly endures hardships while awaiting evolution. This Metapod is a shiny male, and knows Tackle, String Shot, Harden, and Bug Bite. Kakuna, the Cocoon Pokémon and the evolved form of Weedle. A Bug and Poison type, while awaiting evolution, it hides from predators under leaves and in nooks of branches. This Kakuna is a female and knows Poison Sting, String Shot, Harden, and Bug Bite."
"WAY TO GO, WILBUR!/KAKUNA!" shouted Aaron and Franklin before their Pokémon used Harden, combining it with Tackle, and slammed into the Primeape. The Male Nidoran was inspired to help, so he used Peck on multiple Mankeys before joining Franklin's Pokémon. Daphne took a step back and saw that three Mankeys were about to attack the female Nidoran. Daphne dove and covered her as the Mankey used Fury Swipe.
"DAPH!" Franklin and Aaron shouted as the Male Nidoran saw his mate getting attacked and what Daphne was doing to protect it. So it struck the three Mankey with a barrage of Fury Attack. Soon, an Arcanine jumped onto the man, and the Primeape jumped to its trainer, only to get hit by a Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Water Pulse, and Moonblast. Aaron and his friends saw Officer Jenny with A Police Cadet and four different Pokémon: a Jolteon, a Flareon, a Vaporeon, and a Sylveon.
"Are you kids all right?" Officer Jenny asked the three, and Franklin told her that his cousin got hit on her back by some Fury Swipes from the Mankeys. Officer Jenny nodded her head, looked at the cadet, and said, "Cadet Mikey, have you Eevee team round the Mankeys up." Cadet Mikey nodded his head and said, "Yes, Ma'am, Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Sylveon, you all know what to do, go find the Mankey and round them up."
"The guy was after these Nidoran," Franklin said as he gestured to the two Nidoran. Officer Jenny nodded her head and asked for their names. When Aaron said his last name and Daphne hers, Mikey was speechless and clenched his fists as he knew that his brothers were gone cause Ash led the army they were in. He blamed the Ketchums for his brother's death, but his Pokémon did not blame them. With Officer Jenny writing their names down, she saluted the three and told them to be careful before leaving with Mikey and his pokémon.
Afterward, Daphne's back was tended to by Franklin while Aaron fed the Nidorans some Pokémon food while noticing a Pokéball. He then remembered that he threw one to try and catch a Mankey. Picking it up, he tossed it, and out came a Mankey, meaning he caught the Mankey. After scanning it, Aaron's Pokédex said, "Mankey the Pig Monkey Pokémon. A Fighting-Type, It lives in groups in the treetops. If it loses sight of its group, it becomes infuriated by its loneliness. This Mankey is a Male and knows Fury Swipes, Counter, Low Kick, and Ice Punch. This Mankey has been caught by trainer Aaron Ketchum."
He then scanned the two Nidoran, and his Pokédex started with the female Nidorain. It said, "Nidoran Female, the Poison Pin Pokémon. A Poison-Type: While this Pokémon does not prefer to fight, even one drop of the venom it secretes from its barbs can be fatal. This Nidoran knows Tail Whip, Fury Swipes, Toxic Spikes, and Double Kick. Nidoran Male, the Poison Pin Pokémon. A Poison-Type, It scans its surroundings by raising its ears out of the grass. Its toxic horn is for protection. This Nidoran knows Peck, Fury Attack, Double Kick, and Poison Sting."
"Dang, they got some good moves… why don't you two catch them?" Aaron said as Mankey climbed onto his head. Franklin and Daphne looked at each other as the Male and Female Nidoran went to them, respectively. The Cousins smiled before pulling out pokéballs and catching the respective Nidoran. Aaron smiled before looking at the Mankey and asked, "I know I didn't ask you to join my team, but if you wish to remain on, it's your call." The Mankey looked at Aaron before looking at the Pokéball. Mankey then hopped onto Aaron's shoulder, signaling that he wanted to stay with Aaron.
"Welcome to the team, Mankey," Aaron said as Rei, Charles, Wilbur, and Zane all cheered as Mankey was welcomed onto the team. Later, Aaron had Zane and Mankey training against each other to strengthen them both while Wilbur, Charles, and Rei watched. Zane flapped his wings away from Mankey and started making Gusts of wind push Mankey away, meaning that he learned Gust. Aaron smiled as Zane landed on his arm. He then fed him some Pokémon food.
"With Mankey, you have a Type Advantage against the Pewter Gym," Franklin said to Aaron. Aaron nodded his head and said, "Yeah, though Charles, Wilbur, and Zane would be at a disadvantage when it comes to the Rock types. I mean, Charles has Dragon Tail, and Rei knowing Iron Tail. And with Mankey knowing Fighting-type Moves, it certainly helps out." Franklin and Daphne nodded their heads in agreement while Daphne said that having a Grass type could help, too. Aaron nodded his head and said, "Yeah, well, I'll think of something along the way." They then resumed their journey.
Elsewhere, at a secret location, Silver walked through a hallway to a Helicopter landing pad where a Helicopter with a big red R was seen landing, and when the door opened, out stepped Silver's Father, Giovanni. The nearby Team Rocket Grunts saluted their leader. Silver saluted along with them as Titanium walked up to the two men. Giovanni smiled at his daughter and son before saying, "I wondered how long it would take you two to bust me out."
"Well, father, we have been busy preparing the Gym as co-gym Leaders," Silver said to his father. Giovanni nodded his head as he led the two into the base. He then asked for their status. Titanium told him that numbers were down due to the war, and many of their scientists were arrested or switched sides. Giovanni put his hand on his chin and mentioned those who got away. Silver said, "Those who got away are in hiding. We're trying to locate them now, along with all our allies."
"Good, good. And project MewC?" Giovanni asked as he sat in his seat. Titanium told her father that Project: MewC was moving along with strides and noted that the Mew DNA was slightly deteriorating and that they needed a new DNA sample. Giovanni put his hands on his desk and said, "I see. Well, we need to find Mew. Any updates?"
"We're looking, but it seems Champion Ketchum has hidden it well." Silver said as he sat down across from his father. The family then began discussing how to get their revenge against Champion Ash Ketchum and his Allies.
Back with Aaron and his friends, they had just arrived at Pewter City. Franklin smiled as they entered his boyfriend's hometown. They checked in at the Pokémon Center and called their respective parents as their Pokémon got healed up by Nurse Joy.
"Hello, Ketchum Residence. " Said Delia. Aaron smiled and said, "Hi, Grandma!" Delia smiled and said, "Aaron, sweetie! Deli sweetie, your big brother's on the phone." Aaron watched as his baby sister got onto the screen with her big smile, and she said, "Hiya, big bro!" Aaron smiled and said, "Hey, baby sis, you helping grandma?" Delia 2nd nodded and told her big brother that their dad's Krookodile gave her a ride on his head.
Aaron smiled before asking to speak to his mom and dad, but Delia told her Grandson, "Sorry, sweetie, but your parents had stepped out for something." That worried Aaron a bit, but he knew his parents could handle themselves, so he told his Grandma and baby sister that he had arrived at Pewter City.
"I'll let your parents know. Be careful, sweetie," Delia told him. Aaron nodded his head, and he ended the call after saying goodbye to his grandma and baby sister. He looked at the Cousins as they ended their call with their families as Nurse Joy walked up with a Blissey. Aaron scanned the Pokémon with his Pokédex. It said, "Blissey, the Happiness Pokémon. A pure normal type, anyone who takes even one taste of Blissey's egg becomes unfailingly caring and pleasant to everyone. This Blissey is a female and knows Dazzling Gleam, Mega Punch, Soft Boiled, and Double Edge. This Blissey has been caught by Brock Hartman."
"UNCLE BROCK'S BLISSEY?!" shouted Aaron. Nurse Joy giggled before she said, "Yup, this is my husband's Blissey. Anyway, your Pokémon are all in full health." She handed each their Pokémon back before Aaron told her, "Thank you, Nurse Joy. I'm here to face the Gym." Nurse Joy smiled more as she knew Aaron meant business, so she said, "Well, Brock is at a Patient's house at the moment, but Forrest is available to battle." Aaron nodded his head as he had a Strategy in mind.
At the Gym, Aaron, Daphne, and Franklin were led through the doors, and they saw a statue of a Crobat. On the bottom was a plaque that read, "The hero of Pewter City, we will never forget." Aaron looked at Nurse Joy as she said, "That was made for my husband's Crobat, who got in the way of a cannon aimed here from a Dark Alliance airship.
"His sacrifice gave the city's Defenders the morale boost needed to keep the City from falling," said a voice from behind them. The group looked behind them and noticed that a man was standing behind them. The man was wearing a green vest and had spiky brown hair. His eyes were like slants. Nurse Joy smiled as she said, "Hello, Forrest, you have a Challenger for the Boulder badge." Forrest smiled and asked, "Who's my challenger?" Aaron stepped forward and said, "I am. My name is Aaron Ketchum, Son of Ash Ketchum."
"Ketchum… no," Forrest said as he walked off. Nurse Joy sighed before looking at Aaron and said, "Sorry, the war took a lot out of all who partook in it… Forrest and Brock lost their parents, Salvadore, Yolanda, Tommy, and Cindy. Not to mention Brock's Crobat and Forrest's Rhyperior." Aaron looked at where Forrest went and said, "And he blames my dad for it all." Nurse Joy nodded her head.
Later, Forrest was tending to his Pokémon when Aaron walked out to the field. Forrest looked behind him and told Aaron, "I thought I made it clear: no gym battle." Aaron stood behind Forrest as he said, "I get it. You're mad at my dad for causing the deaths of your parents, your siblings, your Rhyperior, Brock's Crobat. But everyone everywhere lost something."
"I SAID NO!" Forrest shouted as he stood up. "I WILL NOT BATTLE THE SON OF THE MAN WHO COST ME MY PARENTS!" He then pushed Aaron out of the back and slammed the door shut. Aaron sighed as Rei wanted to shock him, but Aaron shook his head. Later, at the Pokémon Center, Aaron sat down with the cousins, and they were all bummed for Aaron as Nurse Joy walked over to them and provided them each a drink as she asked how it went. Aaron looked at her and shook his head.
"I swear that boy is stubborn as Distortion World." Nurse Joy said as she looked at the three. Then the doors to the Pokémon Center opened up, and a man who looked like Forrest but with darker skin and a white lab coat walked in. Nurse Joy saw him and smiled. She then walked over and kissed him before leading the man over. Aaron recognized it and said, "Uncle Brock!" Brock smiled and patted Aaron's shoulder.
"Aaron, here was the boy who wanted to challenge the gym." Nurse Joy told her husband. Brock nodded his head and asked Aaron if he had won, but Aaron told him that Forrest had refused to accept his challenge. Brock knew why Forrest refused the challenge and said, "I swear that grudge he has is going to be the death of me. Well, how about this: you and I battle. I'm still technically a Gym Leader, and I'll be glad to face you."
"YES! Thank you, Uncle Brock." Aaron said before Brock smiled and nodded his head. He then led them all to the Gym, and Brock saw Forrest. He told his younger brother, "Get some Pokémon Ready for me, Forrest. I got a Gym challenge." Forrest looks and sees Aaron. He growled, stood up, and shouted, "NO! I WILL NOT LET YOU FACE HIM, BROCK! HIS DAD COST US OUR PARENTS AND SIBLINGS! NOT TO MENTION YOUR CROBAT AND MY RHYPERIOR!" That was when a Rhyhorn ran past Forrest and out of the gated area. Aaron was quick to react as he ran after the Rhyhorn with help from Metapod, who used String Shot to Slow the Pokémon down.
Brock ran over to help, and they soon brought the Pokémon back. Daphne scanned it with her Pokédex. It said, "Rhyhorn, the Spikes Pokémon. A rock and Ground type, Rhyhorn claims an area with over a six-mile radius as its territory. It apparently forgets where this territory is when running, however. This Rhyhorn is a Male and knows Rock Blast, Drill Run, Bulldoze, and Water Pulse ." Daphne looked at the moves again as Franklin said, "But Rhyhorn doesn't normally learn Water Pulse." Brock and Nurse Joy nodded their heads, and Forrest said, "We know. That's what confuses us, too. At times, it can learn Aqua Tail and can learn Rain Dance, but Water Pulse is new to us." He said that while trying to get the Rhyhorn back from Aaron.
Aaron saw that Forrest was still being a jerk. Brock told Forrest that he was going to battle Aaron as an Official Gym match as he never gave up his Gym Leader license. Forrest grunted as he crossed his arms, as he knew better than to argue with Brock. In the Gym, Brock stood across from Aaron as Brock's other brother, Timmy, took up the referee spot and said that it would be a two-on-two Pokémon Battle, and only Aaron could substitute Pokémon.
"Trainers, send out your Pokémon!" he said. Brock sent out a Geodude. Daphne scanned the Geodude with her Pokédex, and it said, "Geodude, The Rock Pokémon. A Rock and Ground Type: At rest, it looks just like a rock. Carelessly stepping on it will make it swing its fists angrily. This Geodude is a Male and knows Gyro Ball, Dig, Mega Punch, and Tackle." Daphne and Franklin looked at Aaron as he sent out Wilbur. Brock chuckled as he remembered how his battle with Aaron's dad had gone. Timmy then said, "Battle begin!"
"Let's start with a Tackle !" Brock shouted to Geodude. Aaron smirked as Geodude charged at Wilbur before he shouted, " String Shot to dodge it!" Metapod shot up, struck a pole, and used it to pull itself up and over Geodude. Aaron then commanded Wilbur to use String Shot on Geodude. He did, and he got a direct hit, slowing Geodude down.
"Now Harden into Tackle !" Aaron shouted, Wilbur did that, he hardened up and struck Geodude. Wilbur kept this up until he stopped. Then he began Glowing and landed in front of Aaron, who watched Wilbur change from a Metapod into a Butterfree. Aaron scanned it with his Pokédex, and it said, "Butterfree, the Butterfly Pokémon. A Bug and Normal type, it loves the nectar of flowers and can locate flower patches that have even tiny amounts of pollen. This Butterfree is a Male and knows Tackle, String Shot, Gust, and Bug Bite. This Butterfree has been caught by Aaron Ketchum."
"ALRIGHT, WILBUR!" Aaron shouted as Wilbur flapped his wings around and used Gust on Geodude. While not doing massive Damage, Gust did cause Geodude to roll into some boulders several times as Brock shouted, "USE DIG !" Geodude dug into the ground as Wilbut stopped using Gust. Aaron and Wilbur looked around when Geodude shot up behind Wilbur and used Mega Punch. Wilbur fell some distance before flapping up again.
"STRING SHOT! GRAB GEODUDE'S ARM!" Aaron shouted. Wilbur nodded, used String Shot, and grabbed one of Geodude's arms before Aaron shouted, "NOW SPIN HIM!" Wilbur nodded and spun Geodude around before slamming it into a boulder on the ground, and Geodude's eyes swirled, meaning he was unable to battle. Brock recalled Geodude as Aaron had Butterfree land on his shoulder as Rei cheered for Wilbur. Aaron then had Wilbur recalled before saying, "Cassius! I CHOOSE YOU!" as he shouted and threw out Mankey.
"A fighting type, nice. Go, MARSHTOMP!" Brock said as he threw out his Marshtomp. Aaron pulled his Pokédex out and scanned Marshtomp. His Pokédex said, "Marshtomp, the Mud Fish Pokémon and the evolved form of Mudkip. A water and ground type, living on muddy ground that provides poor footing has served to train its lower body and caused it to develop sturdy legs. This Marshtomp is a Male and knows Mud Shot, Rock Throw, Water Pulse, and Hydro Pump. This Marshtomp has been caught by Trainer Brock Hartman." Aaron knew that his Mankey would have an issue, so he had to plan for every strike.
"MARSHTOMP! USE HYDRO PUMP !" Brock Shouted. Marshtomp obeyed and fired a Hydro cannon at Cassius, but Aaron shouted for him to dodge and use Ice Punch. Cassius dodged and ran around the field as Marshtomp turned his head to try and chase Cassius, but Cassius was quicker and got a successful Ice Punch on Marshtomp. However, that allowed Marshtomp to get a close-range Hydro Pump, sending Cassius into a Boulder, and that gave Aaron an idea.
"Cassius! Pick up the rock Pieces!" Shouted Aaron. Cassius nodded and picked up the stones. Aaron then shouted, "Weave through the boulders and throw them at Marshtomp!" Cassius nodded, and as he weaved and ducked around the boulders, he threw the small rocks at Marshtomp's body but didn't aim for Marshtomp's head.
"Interesting. You're making Rock Throw without Cassius knowing the attack. You're just like your dad," Brock said with a smile, and that made Forrest angrier. Aaron thanked Brock, and he soon told Cassius to stop. That allowed Brock to shout, " Water Pulse !" Marshtomp nodded and fired a Water Pulse. Cassius is about to move, but Aaron says, "Take it, Cassius, Trust me!" Cassius looks at him but nods his head and takes the hit. Cassius is now panting as Aaron shouted, " COUNTER!" Brock realized what Aaron was doing before he could tell Marshtomp to get out of the way. Cassius struck with the full might of Counter, sending Marshtomp flying backward as it slid to stop by Brock's feet. Brock looked at Marshtomp and saw that it was defeated and recalled him, too.
"Marshtomp is unable to continue. The victory goes to Cassius, which means the winner is Aaron Ketchum of Pallet Town!" said Timmy. Aaron cheered as Cassius hopped into his arms, and he said, "Way to go, Cassius!" Cassius smiled as he also called out Wilbur. Forrest sighed while Brock walked over to Aaron. He told Aaron that he saw a lot of Ash in him but wasn't expecting Wilbur to evolve and Mankey to use the stones as a makeshift Rock Throw. He then handed Aaron the Boulder Badge.
"Should that even be allowed? It wasn't a move he used, and Mankey just picked up rubble to use it," Forrest said as he crossed his arms. That was when he earned a Water Pulse from the Rhyhorn, who managed to sneak in and watch the whole battle. The Rhyhorn nudged Brock's hand and then Aaron's hand. Brock realized what he was saying, so he told Aaron that Rhyhorn wanted to join his team. Forrest was the first and only one to object.
"Well, how about it, Rhyhorn, wanna join my team?" Aaron asked Rhyhorn, who nodded his head. Brock handed Aaron Rhyhorn's Pokéball and said that he hoped he would train Rhyhorn well. Aaron took the Pokéball and recalled Rhyhorn into it after naming him Charger. Forrest growled as he walked off, and that made Brock sigh before looking back at Aaron.
"Seems he will never change," Brock said to him. Aaron nodded his head and told Brock not to force Forrest into changing his mind but to let him change it on his own. Later, Aaron called home, and this time, his dad picked up. Aaron showed his dad the Boulder Badge he got from Brock. Ash was proud of his son, and his whole family was proud of him.
"Thanks, Dad… I tried facing Forrest, but he refused, saying it was your fault his parents and siblings were killed." Aaron said to Ash, who looked at the ground and sighed before saying that he wished he had saved them then; Forrest wouldn't have been a headache. But Aaron told his dad, "It wasn't your fault, Dad. You always tell me that there will always be a price of war. Anyway, thanks to my Pokémon, we got the first Badge and are one step closer to facing you for the title of champion dad."
"I look forward to that day, Son. Stay safe, and we love you very much," Ash told his son. Aaron nodded his head and ended the call right as Cassius and Wilbur were healed up fully. Walking away from the counter, Aaron saw Franklin signing up for the next Kanto Battle Club as Daphne found out that her first contest would be a few days after joining the battle club. Aaron smiled and said, "Looks like we're sticking around Pewter City for a bit." Franklin and Daphne nodded their heads and were going to cheer for the other cousins in their respective events.
