Laura was holding her five year old son around her hip as they splashed around in the hotel resort pool. Steve would come up behind them and pretend to be a sea monster and tickle their son. Making Lawrence's, their son, laugh contagious.
They were on a family vacation to the Bahamas as they celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary. This is where they came for their honeymoon and decided to come back since it had been awhile.
Carl and Harriette tagged along so Steve and Laura could have some alone time here and there. The older couple where enjoying themselves by the poolside watching the younger couple and their grandson. They couldn't help but smile and laugh. It was no surprise to Carl and Harriette that Laura and Steve were amazing parents.
As the evening came, Harriette and Carl had Lawrence as it was Laura and Steve's actual anniversary date. Laura somehow was ready before Steve. Of course he suggested she head down to the hotel restaurant as he would soon be down there. What she didn't know, Steve had a surprise for her and was acting like he was running behind on purpose. As Laura made into the restaurant wearing a black coattail dress with a silver star pendant necklace that Steve got her eight years ago there at the Bahamas, her wedding band and engagement matched. "Name please?" The host asked as there was a reservation in their name.
"Urkel, table for two." Laura replied as she smiled back at the host. "My husband will be here soon."
"Right this way Mrs. Urkel." The young blonde, blue eyed man told her. Laura followed and took her seat.
What she didn't know someone caught her eye as she walked passed the bar. He put his drink down, turned and whispered something into his special gal for the week ear. She nodded and ordered another drink.
Laura ordered some sparking grape juice since Steve did not drink any alcohol. But as soon as the waitress left she was extremely surprised as a man stood across from her as his hands where on the chair. "Hello Laura." He said softly.
"Stefan? Hi?" Laura heart began to beat fast as she wanted to freak out. There was her ex looking good as he ever was. No Laura she cursed at herself.
"You look good." Stefan said as he took a seat with now a big grin.
"Th thank you?" She frowned questioning his intentions. "Um Steve will down any minute and he would not be happy if he saw you here talking to me."
"You two still together wow I'm surprised... And why wouldn't he be happy to see me, he is the reason I am here on this beautiful earth and I'm just chating with an old friend thats all."
Lauara gave him a stren look with now an eyebrow raised. "Of course we are still together, we are celebrating our wedding anniversary tonight. Plus we have beautiful five year old little boy that means the world to us. And I did warn ya mister. You two were not on the best terms when you last saw each other. I mean you both proposed to me..."
"Well yeah, but wait a minute, you have a kid? A kid with Steve Urkel?" Stefan asked as he felt confused. Somehow he knew if he saw this kid, he had feeling that would what his and Laura's kid would look like if she picked him. But in reality he didn't want kids cramping his style.
"Yes we have a kid. And he is wonderful. I love being his mother. And Steve is an amazing dad. Why does it seem like you are doubting what I am telling you?" Laura was feeling hot because he was a man she use to think she loved and he was trying to make her feel doubtful about her life with Steve and her choice not picking him. "You know Stefan, how you thought I was when we dated is has grown. I stopped asking the what if when I accepted Steve's proposal. I am happy I did and still happy to this day. Now you may leave..." Laura looked up and saw her husband a few table away just looking froze. She gave him a wink and saw Steve's big grin acorss his face. She then continued. "My husband is on his way over. Unless you want me to cause a scene I'd advice you to move so I can have a romantic dinner."
Stefan turned his head and made eye contact to his clone who did not look happy seeing him. He looked back a Laura as she looked completely annoyed. He shrugged his shoulders knowing he at least tried. But maybe she was right. Maybe Laura wasn't the same Laura he thought he once knew. "Well Laura it was still nice seeing you after all these years. Have a great anniversary and a great life." With that he got up and went back to his own date.
Laura smirked as she shook her head as Steve finally made his way over and sat down. "Well high there stud..." She gave her husband a wink as he smiled back at her.
"Hi there my beautiful wife. That was something I never thought I would see. My clone trying suduce my bride?" Steve asked raising and eyebrow. He took Laura's hand and kissed it.
"Ha never... He thought I would come crawling back to him. I am happy dispite our flaws but that only makes us human. So he never has a chance Babes. I have the best husband in the world that just happens to be my best friend and the father of out son. You've been my choice and gonna stay my choice for the rest of our lives." Laura gave him a warm smile as he got up and walked over to her and got on one knee and took her left hand into his. Laura frowned as she was so confused on what her husband was doing.
"Good. Because Laura the past eight years of marriage has made me one happy man. In these ten years we have grown not just as husband and wife but as best friends and how to be the best parents possible to our boy. Laura Lee after we eat, down at the beach your parents and our son will be waiting for a priest. I am asking you that tonight would you do me the honor of renewing our vows?" He looked into his wife's eyes knowing she was in complete surprise as her eyes danced with love.
"Of course I will!" Steve stood up and leaned over and gave Laura a long lingering kiss as everyone in the restaurant clapped. Laura just happened to look as Steve was kissing her, watch Stefan leaving with a young woman. She definitely made the right choice being with Steve.
Once Steve pulled back Laura looked up at him at he made his way back to his to his seat. "So is this why you were taking longer than I was to make it down here?" She asked him with raised eyebrow.
"Of course Sweetheart. I had to make sure everything was good to go. I want it to be perfect for the most perfect woman in my life." Steve answered as he held a cheesy grin. Of course Steven Q. Urkel would do something like this. Steve was the most romantic guy she ever knew. When she was younger some of his romantic gestures to show how much he loved her always seemd over the top and annoying but now she saw them as sweet and endearing. Today she loved when he surprised with the unexpected love gestures because they came from Steve, the man she was completely in love with. Yet still to this day she still hadn't figured out he got a whole marching band in her parents house.
