It would be Valentine's Day soon, but Drake had searched every store around and still couldn't find the right card for his boyfriend, something to tell JJ exactly how special he was, and how much better Drake's life had been since they'd started dating nearly three years ago.

As a result, he'd decided he'd just make JJ's card himself, because JJ loved that kind of personal gift, something that no one else would have. Drake had bought him little handmade trinkets before, and JJ adored them, and anyway, how hard could it be to make a Valentine? He remembered doing stuff like that when he was a schoolkid, and it had always been fun.

It took him all afternoon on his day off, after going to the store to get what he'd need, and he'd tried to include all the things he knew JJ liked, rainbows, hearts, and flowers, and bright colours. This was his third attempt, the first two having gone disastrously wrong in ways he hadn't anticipated. The first one had gotten stuck to the kitchen table, and the second had looked so lopsided he hadn't bothered finishing it. This one though…

It had a big rainbow heart on the front, surrounded by lots of heart-shaped stickers, and Be My Valentine spelled out in gold marker pen, as neatly as Drake could manage. Inside, he'd written about how happy JJ made him, and how much he loved him, decorating it with more stickers, hearts, flowers, tiny rainbows, and some cute smiley faces. There were a couple of sloths too, because JJ thought sloths were adorable. Drake thought they were a bit creepy, but this was JJ's card…

He was pretty sure JJ would like it, the only thing worrying him now was whether he'd used too much glitter.
