Now, I don't know how often I'll be able to update this story, but I'll try to provide quality content whenever I upload. Now, some of these chapters have some similarities to the originals, but they're not entirely the same. How will they differ? Read on and find out!
Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom, or any other franchise that is used in this story!
Prologue
Young Danny Fenton, he was just fourteen when his parents built a very strange machine. It was designed to view a world unseen.
When it didn't quite work, his folks? They just quit! But then Danny took a look inside of it. There was a great big flash, everything just changed! His molecules got all rearranged!
When he first woke up, he realized he had snow-white hair, and glowing green eyes! He could walk through walls, disappear, and fly! He was much more unique than the other guys!
And it was then that he knew what he had to do.
He had to stop all the ghosts that were coming through.
He's here to fight for me and you!
And that's how life has been for Danny ever since he first got his ghost powers. He's fought numerous spiritual adversaries ranging from the bestial animal ghosts to humanoid ghosts with powers he had never imagined, and even an evil half-ghost who was once a friend of his parents' back from their college years. Each fight was more difficult than the last, and he had to adapt and learn as he went while having to learn to use new powers on the fly. But by far, his most difficult task was saving the whole Earth from an asteroid that would have destroyed the planet!
At first, at the cost of being made the absolute ruler of the Earth, Vlad Masters, otherwise known as Vlad Plasmius, would go up into space and use his powers to turn the Disasteroid, as the people had taken to calling it, intangible so it would harmlessly fly through the Earth. He promised to do this in exchange for five hundred billion dollars along with being crowned the absolute ruler of the Earth. The world leaders were so desperate for a solution at the time that they agreed to meet his demands. However, this plan failed in an instant as the Disasteroid was made out of pure Ecto-Ranium, meaning that ghosts were left unable to touch it. And without that, it seemed as if the Earth was doomed.
However, Danny had gotten an idea.
While, inadvertently, having his identity as the ghostly superhero, Danny Phantom, revealed, Danny proposed a plan, not to turn the Disasteroid intangible, but to turn the Earth itself intangible. They did this by setting up giant ecto-conductive pylons around the planet that were connected to cables that stretched all around the planet to transfer the ecto energy and turn the planet intangible. At least, that was the theory.
Luckily, this theory proved to be true as Danny burst through a natural portal to the Ghost Zone with every single Ghost trailing behind him, having agreed to put aside their differences, if for no other reason, than for self-preservation. And so, working together, the ghosts used their collective intagibility powers to turn the Earth intangible, thus allowing the Disasteroid to pass right through the planet without any harm.
And as Danny found out soon afterwards, his secret identity had been revealed to the world. But instead of being seen as a menace by the people like he initially thought, they cheered for him and saw him as the hero he always tried to be. He and Sam even admitted their feelings for one another and, finally, got together as a couple. What more could he want?
Well, not much, but privacy from the media would be nice.
Yeah, about a month after becoming a world-famous superhero, Danny learned that being a famous ghostly crime fighter didn't come without its challenges. While he may no longer have to worry about a secret identity, there are other things he has to worry about now. For one, the media vultures who are almost constantly stalking him in an attempt to get the latest scoop on their town's resident hero. They even stalked Danny and Sam whenever they tried to go on dates, often forcing them to cancel because they were so damn invasive! This put a heavy strain on Danny's relationship with Sam, and the two mutually agreed to break it off since it just wasn't working out.
The increase in ghost attacks didn't help either.
It turns out that when the Disasteroid phased through the Earth when it was intangible, it didn't leave it completely undamaged. The Ecto-Ranium that the asteroid was made of ended up weakening the barrier between the mortal plane and purgatory. This led to an increase in the frequency of ghost attacks. And of course, many of his ghostly enemies such as Skulker, Technus, Johnny 13, and Walker, all came time and time again to challenge the resident halfa.
And the media STILL swarmed at these battles! And not just them, but all of Danny's numerous fans also swarmed to watch and record his battles in person, like they had lost all sense of self-preservation that they had! It made it really hard for Danny to fight without getting civilians caught in the crossfire.
He didn't want those media hounds anywhere near his house, especially after they tried using drones to get pictures and recordings of him in his own house, so at Danny's insistence, his parents altered the Fenton Ghost Shield to not only repel ghosts, but humans as well. And it would cast an EMP that fried any and all electrical equipment that was used to try and get through. This didn't stop reporters from trying, though.
This was four years ago, and Danny STILL hasn't gotten used to the fame that comes with his gig now!
The bell rang as another day of school ended at Casper High, and Danny was one of the first to leave as he quickly gathered his things and transformed before flying home at high speeds to avoid any fans or media vultures. Making it home in record time, Danny landed before changing back.
At eighteen years old, Danny has had quite the glow-up. He still wears his iconic shirt, jeans, and sneakers, but they're now sized up to fit his new body type. He's no longer the skinny fourteen-year-old boy that he used to be when he just started out. Now, he was a full-grown young adult standing at a whopping six feet two inches with a strong, athletic build. While the jocks back at school had muscles that were built more for showing off, his muscles were built for fighting. His pectorals were hard as metaphorical diamonds, his arms and legs were lean yet strong with compact muscles like those of a seasoned warrior, and he had a six-pack of abs that one could grind meat on. If one were to compare Danny's build to anything, they would say that he looks like he has Goku's muscle tone from when he fought Frieza as a Super Saiyan on planet Namek.
Sighing as he popped his neck, Danny said, "Another day closer to graduation. The sooner it happens, the sooner I can get away from those bunch of buzzards. At least Jazz is away at college, so she doesn't have to deal with this anymore.".
He entered the house while turning the ghost shield on to keep any unwanted 'guests', and their spy gear, out of the house.
"Mom? Dad? I'm home!" called Danny.
But there was no response. Assuming that they were downstairs in the lab working on another invention, Danny just shrugged off the silence and went to the kitchen to grab a snack. When he got there, he found a note on the fridge. Taking it off the fridge door, he read it aloud to himself.
"It says… 'Dear Danny, your father and I are out running errands, but we'll be back around six to celebrate your special day with you. Happy birthday, son! Lots of love, hugs and kisses, Mom. P.S, There's a cake in the fridge for your birthday. Please don't touch that, we'll have it after your special birthday dinner.'. Well, that tells me where mom and dad are, at least."
Glad that he won't be celebrating his birthday alone this year, Danny grabbed an apple off the table and a bottle of water from the fridge and went to the living room to just chill and watch TV until his parents returned home.
He was completely unaware that his life would soon be turned upside down.
In a good way.
