Here's the next chapter, hope you enjoy. By the way, I thought it would be best to add some cover art to my stories and so I found a website and created my own. It was surprisingly fun, but I'm not very good at it so try to look at it from a distance (like a Monet painting).
Xrker - Thank you for your review. I am glad you are enjoying it so far. The harem will involve most of the girls from 1A (excluding Ochako and Asui) and all of the girls from 1B and possible two non-students like Bubble Girl and Melissa. The reason for those girls in particular is because I want them to help Lewis' character to grow and develop in different ways.

Chapter 4: A Stressful First Day
Lewis scribbled furiously on a page of note paper.
He stooped drawing, scowled at the image he drew, sighed in frustration, ripped the page out of the notepad and, after scrunching it into a ball, threw it into recycling bin.
"Why is this so bloomin' hard?" Lewis muttered to himself, starting his costume design again for sixteenth time.
He leaned back on his swivel seat, tapping the pencil on his lips.
U.A had requested that students should send in designs for their hero costumes before the first day. Lewis had never really thought about his costume considering he didn't think he get this far. The deadline was for tomorrow, which is why Lewis is up at two in the morning scribbling under the light of his desk lamp.
'Let's start from the beginning. I need something that's light and easy to move in, but enough to cover myself so my quirk would work,' Lewis thought.
The attempts varied from him basically wearing a sheet like an old fashioned ghost to a skin tight suit which probably get him in more trouble with the police than the villain he was trying to defeat.
He considered wearing his trench coat, but he needed more protection from attacks than a simple rain coat. Additionally, wearing a buttoned-up trench coat, which hid the clothes he was wearing under, would also get him in trouble with the police.
He looked around his room, hoping something would inspire him. His eyes laid upon his black top hat which he uses to store items to big to make disappear in his hand.
He remembered the day he got that hat.
-Flashback nine years ago-
Oxford
A five year old Lewis was examining a black disc on his bed. He had found it when snooping around his father's old things in the attic and picked it up.
It was getting late now and Lewis still hadn't figured out what it was yet. It was starting to get annoying.
"Still working on that?" a cool voice asked surprising Lewis.
He turned to see his father standing at the door with a small smile.
Alister Fleetwood shared his son's green eyes, but had short blond hair and stood at about six foot. Lewis' mother, Lilith, was slightly bothered that her son inherited his father's eyes rather than her fiery red demonic eyes, but was pleased that he had her jet black hair.
Alister walked into Lewis' room and sat on the bed.
"Here," Alister said holding his hand out to take the disc.
Lewis handed it him after a moment. Alister span the disc on his hand and onto his index finger. Stopping it between his index finger and thumb, he smacked the bottom of the disc with his other hand making the middle part to extend revealing it to be a top hat.
Alister placed the hat on top of Lewis' head. It was to big for him so the it sunk way past eyes causing him to giggle.
"So any reason why you were in the attic again?" Alister asked sternly, "You know your mum and I don't like you going up there by yourself."
"I know, it's just your stuff is so cool!" Lewis defended himself, trying to lift the hat of his head.
Before retiring and settling down, Alister had been a stage magician and had even performed at the Royal Variety Show in front of the royal family. Of course, magic shows was not as popular as it was back before quirks, but entertainment had been in the Fleetwood family for generation and Alister was eager to keep the tradition going. It was made all the more easier with his quirk:
Vanish: Able to make handheld objects vanish and reappear.
Alister chuckled and took the hat off his son's head.
"Alright, tell you what," he said catching Lewis' attention, "you can have this hat if you stay out of the attic, ok. We don't want you to hurt yourself."
Lewis nodded his head vigorously in agreement.
"Now remember," Alister continued, "this hat belonged to your grandfather, so take care when using it," he said as he collapsed the hat back into its disc shape and placed it on Lewis shelf.
"Ok, now off to bed," Alister said.
He tucked the young boy into his bed, kissed his forehead and went to leave his room.
"Dad," Lewis called out before Alister could turn the light off.
The father simply hummed in reply.
"Can you teach me some of your tricks tomorrow?" Lewis asked sleepily.
Alister smiled, "Of course. Good night, Lewis," he said turning of his light.
"Good night, dad."
-End Flashback-
Lewis missed those times.
His father was the one who taught him to throw cards and other slight of hand tricks. He was so proud when Lewis got his quirk and it was a more powerful version of his own.
He didn't know whether he would liked the idea of him becoming a hero considering how dangerous it was. Lewis assumed he would him to continue the family tradition and becoming an entertainer or a mag-
A thought struck him.
Lewis quickly opened his laptop and looked for images of magician outfits. Most of them, to Lewis' disappointment, looked ridiculous. Outlandish designs and capes with stars on them; it looked... childish. But perhaps there was a way to make it more... well probably not cool, but definitely less stupid.
Starting from the basics he drew a light full body suit covering his arms, legs, torso and stopping at the neck. Since he was fighting with his fists and feet he needed to add protection and weights and drew gloves lined with metal and steel toed boots to his design. He also briefly mentioned how the boots and gloves would be attached to the full body suit so he wouldn't lose them easily. He then added small details about ways to make the suit resistant to attacks.
Moving onto the second layer he drew more protective gear on his knees and elbows. As well as protective sleeveless jacket which will protect his torso and neck.
Lastly the outer layer would consist of his trench coat to use his quirk more easily and his top hat to store things or to use as distraction. He thought about it and decided he needed a mask to stop people looking at his face. He decided to go for an outlaw bandana mask as it would cover his face more easily. Since he was covering his mouth and nose he might as well as add in a breathing appliance in case any dust or smoke gets into his lungs and chokes him. Thinking it about it more he might as well add in a pair of goggles to complete the look.
Lewis looked at the costume. It was light and flexible to move in, but it covers enough so Lewis can use his quirk. Plus there is extra protection on any vital parts and there are portable places, like his sleeves and hat, to store any other gear.
He smiled. It looks like he has finished his hero costume, but what about the colour scheme.
It needed to be dark so villains can't detect him, but bright in some places so innocent people can see him clearly.
After contemplating some ideas, he decided to go for a simple black and gold colour scheme. He could change it later on.
He decided to make the outer layer and mask black, but the sleeveless jacket gold. While the full body suit would be black and gold pinstriped.
It was the best he could think of at two thirty in the morning, but it's definitely a costume.
Deciding he would finish off the rest of the details tomorrow, Lewis turned in for the night.
Outside U.A
A few days later
Today's the day.
Lewis walked in through the gates of U.A dressed in his new school uniform consisting of a grey blazer, black trousers and a red tie. Although his tie was slightly skewed due to the lack of experience wearing them.
He walked through a door marked with the number 1 and looked down at his journal written by Xaphan on how Japanese schools work.
'Ok, so apparently we have a main classroom where we stay... what!? For the whole day!? Then how would we get to our next,' Lewis flipped the page, 'oh I see, the teachers travel from class to class. I guess that's more efficient in a way,' he thought remembering the notorious jams in his old school when students were moving from class to class.
He walked down the hallways trying to find a door marked 1A on it. He checked his phone to see that he was five minutes early for when class was supposed to begin.
Eventually, he found the right door. It was large about three times his height. He chuckled at the thought that this is probably the only door his uncle can fit under, before sliding it open.
He was surprised to see that he was the third person in the classroom. Sitting rigidly at a desk was the other boy who asked the question at the entrance exam. While sat at a desk in the corner was a beautiful curvaceous girl with black hair in a spiky ponytail staring out the window beside her. They turned to look at the person who entered making Lewis gulp in nervousness.
The boy stood up and marched his way towards Lewis.
"Greetings, my name is Iida Tenya from the Soumai Private Academy and I am honoured to be studying with you," Iida greeted sharply with a perfect bow.
Lewis, slightly startled by his introduction, thought it was best to introduce himself as well.
"Err well... my name's Lewis...Lewis Fleetwood from Saint Cecilia's School in... England and it's also an honour to meet you too," Lewis replied the best he could with a small bow.
Iida straightened himself and turned towards the other person in the room.
"This is Yaoyorozu Momo she was given a recommendation to join U.A's hero course," Iida continued, pointing sharply at Momo with an open palm.
Momo stood up from her seat and gave Lewis a small smile, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Fleetwood," she said gently making Lewis flush slightly.
"Hello there, I...I don't believe I saw you at the entrance exam," Lewis pointed out with stutter.
"Recommend students go through a separate exam," Momo explained.
"Ahh I see...I didn't see you...because you were not...there," Lewis said awkwardly, before clearing his throat, "is there a specific...seating arrangement or..."
"I believe you can sit anywhere you want for the meantime," Iida replied looking around the room, "but may I also commend you for your question during Present Mic's welcome talk."
"Commend me?" Lewis asked curiously.
"Indeed, you knew that was more to the exam and asked for more context in order to perform better. This must be why you became the highest scourer in the exam. I am ashamed of myself to not see this." Iida explained seriously as he berated himself.
'I...didn't know either,' Lewis internally admitted, deciding to keep it to himself.
Lewis gave a sheepish expression, "Well this is school...so your supposed to learn about these...things. So don't beat yourself up over it," he said wavering his hand.
"You are right!" Iida exclaimed making Lewis jump back in surprise, "I will learn about the ways of a hero. Thank you, Fleetwood," Iida thanked bowing again.
Lewis took the opportunity to give Momo a confused look, but she, equally as confused, gave a simple shrug in reply.
He shuffled passed Iida towards the back of the second row and took his seat. He laid down his bag by his feet and waited patiently for the rest of his classmates.
Eventually, another person walked into the class. She was an athletic girl with long straight hair which reached to the middle of her back. Her hair was split into two colours white on the right and red on the left. Beside the large scar over her left eye, what caught Lewis attention was her dazzling heterochromia eyes.
Iida greeted her like he did with him, but she maintained her icy stoic expression.
"Todoroki Shoko," was all she said in reply before making her way to the back of the room and took the desk to Lewis' left.
Lewis glanced in her direction.
'You should introduce yourself,' a little voice told Lewis.
'I don't know, she looks like she doesn't want to be bothered,' Lewis thought doubtfully.
'Come on, she's a human too. She's probably nervous about her first day. You were able to introduce yourself to Momo and Iida. Go on,' the voice urged.
'I suppose,' Lewis hummed nervously.
'Go on. What's the worst that could happen.'
Lewis turned to Todoroki in his seat.
"Err hi," Lewis said catching the girl's attention, "my name is Lewis Fleetwood. It's nice to meet you," he introduced himself friendly.
Todoroki didn't reply, but stoically observed him for a moment. He started to sweat a little at her intense glare.
...
...
...
"Your tie is twisted," she coldly said, before turning to the front again.
'I...should've stayed quiet,' Lewis thought to himself with a defeated expression.
"Yeah sorry about that,' the little voice apologised sheepishly.
Lewis straightened his tie.
After a couple of minutes more students started to filter in to the classroom, each with unique features like a multiple arms, pink skin, a large tail. He recognised the girl who sat next to him at the entrance exam. She gave him a wave when she noticed him and he waved back, although a little more anxiously.
Soon the class was almost filled with students waiting for their homeroom teacher to arrive.
Well almost everyone.
"Take your feet off the desk now!" Iida ordered loudly.
The boy he was berating sneered at him. He had blond spiky hair, red eyes and seemed to be annoyed with everything. Ever since he walked into the room Lewis had a feeling that he wouldn't like him very much.
"It's the first day and your already disrespecting this academy by scuffing school property, you cretin!" Iida continued waving his hand up and down robotically.
"You're kidding me, right. Your old school put a stick up your ass or were you were born with it," the boy snarked back infuriating Iida.
Lewis turned away from the argument and turned to the person who just walked in. It was the boy with the green hair again and he looked just as nervous as he was. Lewis watched as Iida turned his attention to green haired teenager and introduce himself.
'Maybe I should introduce myself. This is like the third time we've seen been in the same room,' Lewis though as the green haired boy was now attempting to talk to an excited girl with with brown hair and rosy cheeks.
"If you're just here to make friends, then you can pack up your stuff now," a tired voice said from outside the room.
Green haired boy and the rosy cheeked girl stopped their talking and stared in horror at something out of Lewis' line of sight. They moved out of the way as a giant yellow caterpillar crawled into the room. The caterpillar stood up to reveal it was a tired looking man in his thirties with long black hair and dark rings around his eyes wearing a sleeping bag. The man stepped out of the sleeping bag and Lewis got a better look at the man's baggy black costume and long grey scarf.
"Welcome to U.A hero's course," he welcomed emotionlessly, "It took eight seconds before you all shut up. That's not gonna work. Time is precious. Rational students would understand that."
Lewis reluctantly agreed with the strange man, but this is only their first day.
He heard the whispers from his fellow classmates saying who he was and why does he look like that.
"Hello, I'm Aizawa Shota your teacher," Aizawa blandly introduced himself, shocking the class.
He reached into his sleeping bag and pulled out some blue and white exercise uniforms and dropped them on a nearby desk.
"Put those on. I want everybody in the exercise grounds in ten minutes," Aizawa ordered leaving the class afterwards.
Each student took it in turns to pick up a uniform and head to the changing rooms.
Picking up his uniform, Lewis couldn't help but think how unhygienic the uniform was after witnessing somebody pull it out of their sleeping bag.
He shivered slightly and followed the the boys to the male changing room.
U.A Exercise Grounds
The students, now wearing their uniforms, stood in front of Aizawa as the teacher told them that they were going to do a quirk assessment test.
"But orientation," the brown haired girl from earlier countered, "were going to miss it."
"If you really want to make the big leagues, you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies. Here at U.A, we are not tethered to traditions, that means that I get to run my class however I see fit," Aizawa explained sternly, "you've been taking standardised tests most of your lives, but you never got to use your quirks in physical exams before," he said holding up a device showing their names.
The use of their quirks seemed to peak their interest as they listened to what Aizawa said.
Aizawa continued his speech, "The country's still trying to pretend we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel. It's not rational. One day the ministry of education will learn."
Lewis had to agree with everybody not being equal. There were two types of people in the worlds: those who protect and those who can't protect themselves. Setting those who can protect back would mean more people will be in danger.
'He could of said in a better way,' Lewis criticised internally.
"Fleetwood," Aizawa suddenly called out making Lewis jump, "you managed to get the most points on the entrance exam."
Lewis' body became rigid as the entire class focused on him.
"What was your farthest distance throw with the softball when you were in junior high?" Aizawa inquired.
Lewis internally panicked at the question, "Err well...we didn't do those...types of exams...back in England so I...don't know exactly, unless you were talking about cricket, because I was a pretty neat bowler back in the day," nobody laughed at his small joke, "that was a joke we don't just play cricket over there, we've got other sports...in fact I never really played cricket properly...it's actually quite boring...to watch, I mean...it's quite fun...to...play..." Lewis ramblings came a stop when he noticed the heated glare from his teacher.
Aizawa kept his annoyed stare as he took out a ball from his pocket and threw it harshly to Lewis who caught it in time.
The teacher pointed towards a throwing ring a couple of meters behind him, "Throw the ball as far as you can with your quirk, anything goes," he ordered sharply.
Lewis quickly made him way to the throwing ring, hoping to not anger his teacher anymore today.
As he stood ready to throw, he could hear the small whispers from his classmates.
"Damn, he looks nervous," muttered a blond boy with a black lightening stripe going through his hair.
"What was he saying about cricket?" a pink skinned girl whispered to an invisible girl.
"Damn, foreign pretty boy," grumbled a short boy with purple balls for hair.
"Let's see what you've got, American," the spiky haired blond boy growled through gritted teeth. Lewis was unaware that he managed to beat him in the entrance exam which aggravated him intensely.
"I knew I didn't imagine him!" a boy with red spiky hair exclaimed having recognised him from the exam.
Lewis sighed and tried to block out everybody's voices.
He pulled back his throwing arm and swung the arm forwards with all his might.
The students tried to follow the ball through the air, but they couldn't see , they turned to his hand to see if he actually threw the ball, but it wasn't there either.
"Well done," Aizawa congratulated unenthusiastically catching everybody's attention, "despite wasting time, you've managed a decent throw," he said showing the class the device which read 10,659,625 meters.
"What that's insane!" the pink skinned girl exclaimed.
"How did you do that!?" a large boy with giant lips asked.
"Well..." Lewis started, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
Meanwhile in Oxford
Xaphan slept peacefully in his custom made bed.
He had been getting better sleep ever since Lewis left.
He loved his nephew and everything, but he did have a tendency to make Xaphan worry a lot about Lewis trying to get into the right school, bullies, his lack of friends.
However, Xaphan doesn't have to worry as much since Lewis had managed to get into U.A and now he was going to enjoy a nice peaceful night and then the whole weekend tending to his herb garden.
Xaphan sighed calmly in his sleep.
SMASH!
Xaphan fiery red eyes snapped open as he leapt out of his bed at the sound of something smashing. He assumed it was a burglar or a villain and planned to make them regret their decision.
He stormed through the house to Lewis' room when he noticed the window was broken. However, the lack of broken glass on the floor meant it was broken from inside.
Curiously, Xaphan looked through the window and spotted something nestled in the bed of his herb garden. It was a ball and in clear letters it read: Property of U.A High School.
Xaphan blinked a couple of times in surprise before the ball disappeared into thin air, leaving a large imprint in his herb garden,
He frowned deeply.
"Lewis," he growled.
Back in U.A
"...it's hard to explain," he lamely replied.
Aizawa had asked for the ball back since it was the only one he had and Lewis made it reappear again with a flick of his hand. Aizawa gave a raised eyebrow when he saw a parsley leaf attached to the ball.
"I want to go that looks like fun," the pink skinned girl exclaimed jumping up and down in excitement.
"This is what I'm talking about, using our quirks as much as we want," exclaimed a boy with short black hair and large growths on his elbows.
"So this looks fun, huh," Aizawa's cool voice said stopping the student's excitement immediately, "you have three years to become a hero. You think it's all going to be games and playtime."
Everyone gulped at the man's dark tone as he spoke to them. Lewis, who has made his way back to the group, could of sworn he called the idiots.
Aizawa grinned horrifyingly as he continued, "Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none and will be expelled immediately."
The students panicked instantly. They had just gotten in and already they are threatened with expulsion.
"Like is said I get to decide how this class runs," Aiazawa continued, holding up the hair in front of his face, "understand? If that's a problem you can head home right now."
Lewis looked towards his fellow students, seeing their determination and their drive for passing. Some tried to say how unfair it was, but Aizawa instantly shot those complaints down. Lewis thought there was no use in complaining and decided to give it everything he's got and demonstrate why he deserves this school.
However, he couldn't help but notice the green haired kid. He looked just as nervous as Lewis was earlier. Perhaps his quirk was not suitable for these types of exams.
Lewis decided to keep an eye of him throughout the tests.
Test 1: The Fifty Meter Dash
Lewis observed his fellow classmates unique quirks during the first test.
The first two to compete against each other Iida and a girl with wide eyes, long green hair and large hands and feet who was called Asui Tsuyu. They took their positions at the starting line ready to run. Lewis noticed that Iida had exhaust pipes coming out of ankles and guessed it was part of his quirk.
He guessed correctly as Iida zoomed to the finish line while Asui hopped behind him.
A robot recording each of the times declared that Iida took 3.04 seconds while Asui took 5.58 seconds.
Iida mumbled about not being able to run faster due to the lack of distance.
Engine: Grants engine-like protrusions somewhere on his body.
Asui merely ribbited when she heard her time.
Frog: Grants the abilities of a frog.
Soon others took their turn including the girl with large bob-cut, named Uraraka Ochako, a blond haired boy with a large tail, named Ojiro Mashiaro, the pink skinned girl, named Ashido Mina, a blond faux French boy, named Aoyama Yuga.
It was Lewis turn and he was competing against the black haired boy with the weird growths on his elbows.
As they took their position the boy, named Sero Hanta, turned to him.
"Good luck, American," he said with a wide smile. Lewis assumed he didn't do it mockingly as he could tell he was guanine, but come on! Does he look American?
The robot began the race and Sero took off shooting a line of tape at nearby pole to pull him to finish line.
Tape: He has dispenser like elbows from which he can shout long cellophane tape-strips.
Sero passed the finished line and turned back towards Lewis. He didn't see him take off and assumed he was stuck or was incredibly slow. However, he was confused when he didn't see him anywhere; nor at the starting line or on the track.
He heard a cough behind him and to his shock Lewis was behind him the whole time.
"I'm actually English, not American," he simply stated with a small smile as he walked back to the rest of group.
Sero turned to the robot to see the results and was even more shocked to see that Lewis took 0.150 seconds to complete the track.
Test 2: The Grip Strength Test
Lewis didn't do so well on this one.
Using the device he only managed to 72 kg which was just above average.
A tall boy with grey hair, multiple arms and a mask covering his face called Shoji Mezo managed 540 kg.
Lewis noticed that the green haired boy seemed to be struggling with the tests, making Lewis worry a little bit.
Test 3: Standing Long Jump
Lewis relied on his years of gymnastics and was able to clear 3 meters much to his joy.
Although people like the spiky haired blond boy, named Bakugo Katsuki, and Aoyama managed to clear the whole sandbox
Test 4: Repeated Side Steps
Lewis relied again on his gymnastic skills and was able to get a good score.
Test 5: Ball Throw
Since Lewis had already had a turn he sat out on this test.
He was pleasantly surprised to see that someone beat his score as Ochako was able to make her ball float into space and achieved a score of infinity.
Zero Gravity: Able to neutralise the gravity of anything she touches including people.
Lewis did want to point out that by neutralising the ball's gravity and sending into space means she had created a super dimensional object on which the warp of space and time has no influence. It proves the existence of a whole new "space" whose weight and time can be measured objectively and such a discovery would carry significant meaning given what we know of the world we currently inhabit...
...but he didn't want to ruin the moment.
The last to go was the green haired boy. Lewis was finally able to learn that his name was Midoriya Izuku and he could tell from a single glance that he was panicking.
Lewis couldn't blame him; throughout the tests Midoriya had been in the bottom rankings and the pressure put on by Aizawa didn't help.
As he stood in the throwing circle, Lewis could see he was contemplating something. Maybe he needed to concentrate on his quirk.
He pulled back his throwing arm and prepared to toss the ball. Lewis was eager to see his quirk in action.
"If Midoriya doesn't shape up soon he's the one going home," Iida commented sternly.
Bakugo glared at Iida furiously, "Huh!? Of course he is, he's a quirkless loser."
'Quirkless?' Lewis questioned, turning to pair in curiosity.
"He has a quirk," Iida countered, "Did you not hear about what he did in the entrance exam."
Bakugo only glared in reply and turned back to Midoriya.
Midoriya deciding it was the right time, threw the ball as hard as he could...
...and it landed a couple of meters in front of him.
Midoriya, as well as the rest of the class, looked confused by the attempt before Aizawa spoke, "I erased your quirk."
Everybody looked at the teacher seeing that his eyes had changed to glowing red orbs and his scarf and hair floating widely around him.
Lewis wasn't as knowledgeable of the heroes of Japan (other than All Might obviously), but there was one pro hero that his uncle told him about. He worked during the night and hated being in the spotlight like the other pro heroes. He was known as Erasure Head.
Erase: Able to cancel other people's quirks just by looking at them.
Honestly, Lewis was a big fan of his, but decided to ask him for an autograph later.
"You're not ready," Aizawa, continued, "You don't have control over your power. Were you planning to break your bones again? Counting on someone else to save your useless body?"
"N-no," Midoriya stuttered in denial, "That's not what I was trying to do-"
But before he could finish his sentence, Aizawa's scarf wrapped tightly around him and dragged him closer to the teacher.
"No matter what your intentions are, you would be nothing more than a liability in battle, you have the same reckless passion as another overzealous hero I know, one who saved a thousand people by himself and became a legend. But even with that drive, your worthless if you can only throw a single punch before breaking down. Sorry Midoriya with your power there's no way you can become a hero."
"That's not true!" a voice exclaimed.
Everybody, who was focusing on Aizawa and Midoriya, now turned to Lewis. For the first time today, Lewis didn't look anxious or look like he was going into a panic attack. He looked determined, even angry.
Inside Lewis' mind however...
'Oh my goodness! What am I doing! I've shouted at our teacher, our very scary teacher, and now everybody is looking at me! Keep calm! Keep calm! KEEP CALM!'
"Is there something you would like to say, Fleetwood?" Aizawa asked menacingly, his red eyes boring into Lewis' soul.
"Yes," Lewis replied, fighting down the urge to run away, "U.A is supposed to teach us how to use our quirks for the benefit of society. Each one of us here has worked hard to get here, including Midoriya. You may be right that his quirk is reckless and a danger to himself, but you are wrong in assuming he won't improve."
Lewis noticed how Aizawa's eyes narrowed when he said that he wrong.
'Ok Lewis, I think if you just apologised now, he might not expel you,' Lewis' common sense tried to reason with him.
However, Lewis was on a roll and continued, "I believe that Midoriya has every right being here and you are not giving him a chance to prove himself. Do you think that just because you stay away from the limelight and you believe your special than any other pro hero out there that your entitled to judge Midoriya because he didn't do well in a few stupid tests. Give him a chance."
Silence fell.
The other students didn't make a sound as they watched the standoff.
Midoriya, who was still bound in Aizawa's scarf, looked slightly in awe of Lewis.
Aizawa glared harshly. Lewis glared back. Neither were backing down.
'OH GOD! I'M GOING TO FAINT, I'M GOING TO FAINT! I'M GOING TO VOMIT AND THEN I'M GOING TO FAINT!' Lewis' inner dialogue screamed in panic.
"Fine," Aizawa finally said, releasing a shocked Midoriya from his scarf, "you have one chance."
Lewis and Midoriya sighed in relief.
"However," the teacher darkly said, turning to Midoriya "since your classmate has so much confidence in you. If you manage to use your quirk without breaking your body; you will be responsible for yours and Fleetwood's expulsion."
"WHAT!?" almost everybody shouted.
The rest of the class started to say how unfair that was, but a harsh glare from Aizawa silenced them.
"But Mr. Aizawa-," Midoriya started to say, but he was interrupted by Lewis.
"It's fine," Lewis said with a small determined smile.
"IT IS!?" the class shouted in surprise.
"It is?" Aizawa blandly asked.
'It is?' Lewis' inner dialogue asked.
Lewis nodded to say that he agreed with the terms.
Midoriya gulped. He didn't want to get other people expelled, but Lewis sent him a confident nod to tell him it was alright.
Midoriya took position again. Lewis could see the concentration on face as he tried to focus his quirk.
Lewis held his breath as Midoriya drew back his arm, ready to throw the ball.
He watched the scene like it was in slow motion. He swung his body round, his arm shooting forwards and Lewis could see his finger start to glow with power.
SSSMMMMAAASSSSHHHHH!
The class stared in shock as Midoriya shot the ball through the air so fast it created several sonic booms.
Most importantly of all, Midoriya was still standing. His finger may be broken severely, but he was still standing.
With a pained grin, Midoriya turned to Aizawa.
"Mr. Aizawa, you see I'm still standing," Midoriya declared proudly, causing Aizawa to grin wildly.
The class cheered at Midoriya's throw and Lewis sighed in relief.
"This day has been way too stressful," Lewis muttered out loud, trying to keep himself from fainting.
Lewis, however, noticed something out of the corner of his eye. Bakugo seemed to be seething with rage as he gave a rage filled glare at Midoriya. He saw the palms of his hands explode as he charged at Midoriya.
"HEY EXACTLY-" Bakugo started to shout before he was tackled by Lewis.
Lewis acted out of instinct as tackled the enraged boy. He placed a knee on his back and made sure his palms were facing away from Lewis.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, GAIJIN!" Bakugo screamed at Lewis.
Lewis was unaffected by his racial slur because it pretty childish. However, he did have a problem with students attacking other students.
"What am I doing? What are you doing? You look like you were going attack him," Lewis countered sharply.
"YOU KNOW NOTHING! WHAT, YOU THINK JUST BECAUSE YOU BEAT ME IN THE ENTRANCE EXAM; YOU THINK YOU ARE BETTER THAN ME!" he shouted trying to get Lewis off him.
Lewis was about to say how petty that sounded when he felt something wrap around him tightly. Lewis looked behind him to see that Aizawa had wrapped his scarf around the two of them.
"Stand down," Aizawa ordered, "you're wasting my time now," Aizawa said pulling Lewis off Bakugo.
Midoriya walked back to the rest of class relieved that Bakugo didn't do anything to him. Lewis, after glaring a brief glare at Bakugo, followed him.
Bakugo just stood there gritting his teeth in anger. Angry at not only Lewis, but, by some miracle, Midoriya had gained a quirk.
'Has he be hiding this from? Was he mocking me all this time?' he thought furiously.
As Bakugo was lost in his thoughts, Lewis decided to introduce himself to Midoriya.
"Hi, I'm Lewis Fleetwood...pleasure to finally meet you," Lewis said to the green haired boy shyly.
"You too, thank you for supporting me, Fleetwood," Midoriya thanked gratefully.
"No problem... Is your finger alright?" Lewis looked down at his index finger and cringing at how badly broken it was.
"Yeah, Recovery Girl will probably handle it," Midoriya waved off.
"That's a relief...I'm just glad it's all over," Lewis sighed tiredly, with exhausted smile.
"Err... you do know we have the rest of the tests to get through," Midoriya said hesitantly.
...
...
...
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that," Lewis groaned as Midoriya sweat dropped.
School has ended for the day and Lewis was heading to the staff room.
He had done well in the rest of the tests like the seated toe-touch and the sit ups tests. He would of come first in the distance run test if it wasn't for Momo pulling out a scooter from seemingly no where.
He knew that they had free reign of their quirks, but come on!
He ended in second place overall, between Momo and Todoroki, and was more than happy with the result. He was concerned that Midoriya, despite how he did in the ball throw, came in lost. That was until Aizawa revealed that the expulsion had been a lie all along. Understandably, the students felt a mixture of shock, relief and annoyance when he said that. Momo, however, had never believed him about expelling the last placed student, but Lewis wasn't convinced.
After getting changed and saying his goodbyes to some of his classmates, Lewis headed to where Aizawa should be.
Snipe, who was also in the staff room, let him and pointed to the corner of the room where is homeroom teacher was sleeping.
"Um Mr Aizawa," Lewis timidly called out. He was unsure if he was actually sleeping and didn't want to wake him up.
"What?" the yellow sleeping bag asked as Aizawa sat up from off the floor. He turned to Lewis with an annoyed glare that made him sweat a little.
"Well first of all, sorry for waking you up," Lewis apologised nervously, "Secondly, sorry for shouting at you earlier. It was just...I got angry and what you said to Midoriya was almost exactly what...people have said to me," Lewis explained, making Aizawa lift an eyebrow, "if you said it to me I would of brushed it off, but...I just couldn't...let it happen to anybody else. However, it was wrong of me to shout and again I'm very sorry," Lewis finished with a low bow.
Aizawa sighed, "Listen, not many people would of defended a person they had barely met and not many people would of helped guide examinees during the entrance exam. In high pressure situations you're calm, collective and able to give out commands, but any other time you are humble and do not let authority get to your head. That is what makes a great leader," Lewis would have laughed at that if it wasn't for the fact that Aizawa wasn't one to make jokes, "Defending your classmates is not wrong, which is why I wasn't going to expel you if Midoriya didn't make the throw. It was more of an encouragement for Midoriya," Aizawa explained.
Lewis sighed in relief at that.
"However, talk to me like that again and I will expel you on the spot," Aizawa threatened, making Lewis nervous again, "do you understand?"
"Yes, sir," Lewis agreed obediently.
"Good. Is there anything else?" Aizawa asked in a tone that suggested he didn't want him to ask anything else.
"Err well," Lewis hummed flicking his hand to make a notebook appear in his hand, "I'm a big fan of Erasure Head. Do you mind if I have your autograph?" he asked hopefully.
...
...
...
"No,"
"Please,"
"No,"
"Please,"
"No,"
"Pretty please,"
"If you don't leave right now; I'll put you in detention," Aizawa threatened, making Lewis retreat... for now anyway.
As Lewis headed to the door, he turned back to Aizawa who was lying away from him.
"Mr. Aizawa, you were actually going to expel the person who came last in the tests, weren't you?" Lewis asked with a small frown.
Aizawa didn't reply and so Lewis left the staff room.
He didn't see the small smile on Aizawa's face when he asked the last question.
Phew! This took longer to write than I was expecting. It took me ages to come up with design for Lewis' costume. If you want a better idea of what it looks like; think of the spider noir suit from the PS4 Spider-Man game, but with a trench coat and hat. The bit about Ochako's ball was a reference to the spin-off book 'My Hero Academia Smash!' by the way. Hope you enjoyed the chapter.
Next time: The mock battles and who will Lewis fight against.
