Here's the next chapter. Hope you enjoy.
Djinn - Hello again. Yeah, I know it's a bit extreme, but I have about 80% of an idea of how he could overcome it. Psychology is not my strong point so I could be completely wrong with some details.
RubixJr - Thank you for the support as always. In regard to, whether Lewis has a spilt personality? Not really. There are two main reasons for this. The first is that I have seen people write about SPD in their stories and it has become a weird phenomenon in popular culture nowadays. It's almost like a way for lazy writers to explain a character trait, when in reality SPD is a lot more complex (just like all psychological disorders).
The second reason is that, from what I have researched, SPD is caused by childhood trauma. Lewis can definitely fit that category, but the fact that Lewis becomes hysterical (for lack of a better word) when he overuses his quirk suggest that it can't be SPD. In this chapter I will delve into the reason why Lewis becomes hysterical.
Thank you :)

Chapter 9: The Phineas Gage Problem
"On 13 September 1848, Phineas Gage, an American railroad construction foreman, was overseeing the levelling of the rocky terrain in order to build the Rutland & Burlington railroad line. Phineas had bored a hole into the rock and packed it with exploding powder. He was using an iron temping rod to pack the powder when he was temporarily distracted and accidental hit the rod on the side of the rock making a spark and igniting the powder. The temping rod, propelled by the powder, shot out of the hole and speared Phineas cheek going through his brain and exited the top of his head."
"I'm sorry to stop you, Fleetwood," Midoriya said as they walked to class, "but what does this have to do with your CT Scan results?"
Lewis gave him a sheepish smile, "Sorry, I know this long winded, but I promise you that this important," he explained.
It had been a week since the USJ incident, and the students were going back to school. Thanks to Recovery Girl's quirk, Lewis and Midoriya were able to quickly recover from their injuries. He hadn't heard much from the rest of his class since the incident, other than a few worried calls from Ashido, Iida, Momo and Jiro.
The school had told Lewis' uncle what happened and how he sustained some injuries. Lewis had to beg his uncle not to come over to Japan and start hunting for the League of Villains. A task that nobody but Lewis would be able to achieve.
However, one of the biggest developments in Lewis' life was learning All Might's secret.
-Flashback-
Private Room
Lewis had invited Midoyia and Yagi Toshinori, commonly known as All Might, to his house. The guests sat awkwardly at Lewis' dining table while Lewis served them tea and a few biscuits Xaphan had sent from England.
"I hope Yorkshire tea is alright," Lewis said as he placed two cups of black tea in front of them and small milk jug between them, "I'm not really a big fan of green tea."
"This is fine. Thank you," Midoriya said, as Yagi nodded in agreement.
Lewis took a seat across from them, "So, you were going to tell me about…what is going on," Lewis prompted adding a little milk to his tea and swirling it with a spoon.
Yagi coughed, "Err…well, we don't really know where to start, really," he admitted.
"Maybe you can start from the beginning," Lewis urged kindly taking a Custard Cream biscuit from the plate.
Yagi sighed, "Well…"
He then told Lewis about his quirk:
One for All: allows him to stockpile an enormous amount of raw power, allowing him to significantly enhance all of his physical abilities to a superhuman level.
He told Lewis about how, due to an injury a few years ago, he was becoming weaker and weaker and unable to maintain his hero physique. Lewis was shocked by this. All Might had been a pivotal figure in hero society. He couldn't even imagine what society would be like without him.
The next thing they told him was even stranger. Midoriya took over and explained how he was quirkless before he met All Might during an incident with a sludge villain.
(A.N: I assume you've all seen the Anime. I don't need to explain it, do I?)
Yagi gave Midoriya the opportunity to inherit his quirk by consuming several stands of his hair.
"Wait a moment," Lewis interrupted, "you ate his hair?" he asked Midoriya feeling slightly disgusted.
Midoriya shivered at the memory, "Yes, I needed to absorb his DNA for the quirk to transfer."
"It wasn't that big of a deal," Yagi muttered as he watched the two boys cringe in horror.
"Surely there were better ways of absorbing his DNA lik- actually thinking about, eating hair is probably the best option," Lewis said, instantly changing his mind halfway through the sentence.
Since then, Yagi has been coaching Midoriya on how to use All for One. Which might explain why Midoriya doesn't seem to have gotten a hang of his quirk.
"I see," Lewis said after being caught up, "who else knows about this?" he asked curiously.
"The U.A faculty knows about my true form, but not about Midoriya being my successor. As well as Detective Tsukauchi of the police." Yagi answered, taking a bite of a Hobnob biscuit.
"Tsukauchi knows," Lewis mused as he finished his cup.
"Fleetwood," Yagi said seriously, "this secret is of the utmost importance. Today's society is built on the belief that All Might is a Pillar of Hope and you can imagine the devastation it would cause if this went out to the wrong people. I know this is a huge responsibility, but please-"
"I promise," Lewis said interrupting Yagi, "I will never reveal your secret to anyone," Lewis reassured.
Yagi leaned back in his chair while Midoriya gave a relieved smile.
"Thank you, Fleetwood," Yagi said.
"It's no problem. Perhaps I can help," Lewis suggested, earning perplexed looks from his guests.
"Help?" Midoriya asked.
Lewis nodded, "Yep. No offense, but you two are the worst liars ever," he told them sheepishly, causing Midoriya and Yagi to bow their heads gloomy.
- Flashback Ends –
Lewis was more then willing to help them and keep their secret safe. However, there were other things that plagued Lewis' mind.
Recovery Girl was not at liberty to give Lewis a CT scan since she was only a school nurse, but she did put in a few calls to some old colleagues and was able to get Lewis an appointment with his uncle's permission and Detective Tsukauchi's attendance. Lewis was now telling Midoriya the results.
"Anyway, where was I," Lewis said.
"You were talking about somebody being killed," Midoriya answered helpfully.
"Well, that's the thing," Lewis continued, remembering his story, "Phineas didn't die. They were able to remove the rod and the only thing damage was his left eye. Physical he was alright. Mentally, however, not so great."
"How do you mean?" Midoriya asked.
"Phineas started to act strangely. Before the accident, he was cheerful and popular, but after he was moody and prone to arguments. Phineas Gage was the first solid proof that the brain effects mood and was a leap forward in psychoanalysis and, in particular, our understanding of the the Frontal Lobe."
"The Frontal Lobe?" Midoriya questioned.
"Yes, it's the part of the brain that is responsible for memory, emotions, problem solving and, most important for me, impulse control."
Lewis flicked his hand and a folder appeared in it. Opening the folder up, he showed Midoriya a copy of his CT scans.
"So, this here," Lewis said pointing to the first image, "was my brain before I had used my quirk. It looks pretty normal and there is nothing wrong with it. But then if you look at this one," he pointed to the second image, "that was my brain after I used my quirk twenty times in a row. Can you see something missing?"
Midoriya didn't have to look hard as it was very obviously, "Your Frontal Lobe. It's almost gone," he said in shock.
"Exactly," Lewis confirmed, "you know how I said that parts of my body can go missing if I don't know where I'm going," Midoriya nodded, "well, I believe that because the Frontal Lobe is so complex it takes a while for it to disappear with me. Meaning that every time I use my quirk, I lose the part of the brain that stops me from going berserk."
"Oh, I see," Midoriya said, "so if your brain was like... a group of marbles and you move them around a table with an open palm. The first few times will be alright, but after a couple more moves some marbles get left behind. The more you move, the more marbles you leave behind."
Lewis nodded in agreement.
"Not only that, but look at the third image," Lewis said.
Midoriya takes a look.
"You're Frontal Lobe is starting to appear again," he observed.
"Yep. That image was taken an hour after the last one," he informed, closing the file, and making it disappear once more.
"So, your Frontal Lobe appears once you stopped using your quirk. That's very interesting. How are you going to remedy this?" Midoriya asked curiously.
Lewis sighed, "That's the thing. I don't know. The only thing I can think of is know my limits and stop myself from going overboard," he admitted sadly.
"I'm sorry Fleetwood," Midoriya said "I know it's hard to have limitations."
Lewis nodded solemnly.
"But please don't let this put you down, Fleetwood," Midoriya continued, "I'm sure you can find a way to overcome this and go beyond. After all, you're in U.A."
Lewis turned to him and saw his positive smile.
He smiled as well.
"Thanks, Midoriya. I needed that after the week I had," Lewis thanked.
"So, what happened to Gage?" Midoriya asked.
"Well, like all people who were different in the 19th century, he was treated like a freak of nature and died a painful, lonely death in San Francisco whilst in his thirties," Lewis answered.
Midoriya blinked, "Oh," he uttered sadly.
Lewis rubbed the back of his head, "Yeah, I didn't really want to mention that part at the beginning," Lewis admitted as they entered their classroom.
"Neko-Chan!" was the first thing Lewis heard before a familiar pink haired student almost tackled him to the ground.
"Oof!" Lewis gasped as Ashido wrapped in a hug.
"I'm so glad to see you," she told him, much to his embarrassment.
"I-I-I'm g-glad t-t-t-to s-see y-y-you t-too, A-A-Ashido," Lewis stuttered, getting flustered by her tight hug.
"Aww, call me Mina from now on, Neko-chan," she said breaking the embrace.
"Oh, okay then," Lewis said in surprise, "does that mean you're going to start calling me by my real name?" he asked hopefully.
Mina smiled brightly at him, "Nope," she told him, destroying all hope.
"Ashido," Iida informed sternly, "Fleetwood is still recovering from his injuries, do not hug him unexpectedly," he scolded, swing his arm robotically.
"Yeah, if you get to hug him then you have to hug everybody," Mineta piped up from his seat.
"In your dreams," Mina shot back, glaring at the short boy.
The classroom door slid open, making everybody turn to look at the person who had entered.
"Good morning, class," greeted the tired voice of their teacher much to everybody's surprise.
Aizawa was severely injured during the USJ incident and they weren't expecting him to appear so soon. Judging by the bandages wrapped around his face and his left arm in a sling, he wasn't supposed to be going to work.
"Mr. Aizawa!" everybody shouted in shock as the bandage man limped into the room.
"Aren't you supposed to be recovering?" Lewis inquired in concern.
"You sound just like my nurse," Aizawa tsked in reply, nodding his head to indicate that they should be in their seats. Which they promptly did.
"My wellbeing is irrelevant," Aizawa said as he stood behind his podium, "What's more important is that your fight isn't over yet."
The mood of the class turned cold as they wondered what he meant. It was clear that what happened at the USJ still weighed heavily on their minds.
Lewis was included this. He couldn't help but grip the table in nervousness.
"The U.A sports festival is about to start," Aizawa continued earning sighs of relief from the class.
'Why would he say it that way?' Lewis mentally sighed.
When society had rebuilt itself and quirks had become the norm, international games like the Olympics had been replaced with sports festivals to show off aspiring heroes. Students will be able to demonstrate their quirks to the public for the first time. It also allows hero agencies to scout out potential sidekicks to join their ranks. Many highly esteemed heroes like Endeavour, Edge shot and Best Jeanist have become household names, because of the sports festival.
Lewis, however, wasn't the biggest fan of the sports festival. Making students compete against each other in order for them to stand out in society seemed…barbaric. A student could have one of the most useful quirks for heroing and they'll be overshadowed by somebody with a better fighting quirk. Take Endeavour for an example. He may be the No. 2 hero in Japan, but Lewis doubts he actually cares about helping victims.
That wasn't the only reason why Lewis was uneasy about the festival. It felt like friendships are sacrificed between students in order to gain recognition. Lewis had lost count how many times he had seen a potential friend become a bully in order to 'fit in' with the popular crowd.
Lewis didn't want to ruin everybody's mood, however, and decided to keep his opinions to himself.
"Is it a good idea to hold the sports festival so soon after the villains snuck into U.A," Jiro asked Aizawa.
"They could attack once we're all in the same place," Ojiro added.
"Apparently, the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat has been handled and our school is safer then ever," Aizawa answered, "Plus they're beefing up security compared to past years. This event is a huge opportunity for all students at U.A. It's nothing we can cancel because of a few villains."
"A few villains," Lewis repeated in disbelief, earning a couple of glances from those around him.
"Something you want to say, Fleetwood," Aizawa glared at him in annoyance.
"Yes, I actually I do," Lewis shot back, ignoring everybody looking at him, "it had only been three days since we started, and we were attacked easily and without warning and the administration is treating it like an inconvenience to the school's reputation. Some of us almost died. I had my legs crushed, Midoyia was injured, Thirteen is still hospitalised and you look like just escaped from a sarcophagus," he said, earning a couple of giggles from his classmates, "are we really going to treat it like some sort unfortunate one-off event?" he asked rhetorically.
The class fell deafly silent as he said that, mulling over his words.
Aizawa sighed, "Fleetwood, do you really think I'm stupid to not see the damage caused by the incident? Of course, it was a serious event and the U.A administration knows that, but they had decided that this was the best way of dealing with it. I'm sorry that you are still shaken up by it, but it is only rational to move on. I have no doubt that you will face worse threats in the future, so you need to learn to overcome. Do you understand?"
Lewis stared blankly back his teacher for a couple of seconds.
"Yes, sir," Lewis said in defeat, "sorry for the interruption."
"Good," Aizawa firmly said before continuing, "if you want to go pro one day then this event could be a path for you. One chance a year, three chances in a lifetime. No aspiring hero can afford to miss this festival. That means you better not slack off on your training.
"Yes sir," everybody agreed.
Lewis looked around at the faces of his classmates. He saw the determination on their faces. An expression that said that they were all willing to give it their all.
Lewis couldn't help but feel worried for them.
Lunch had arrived and the whole class was excitedly talking about the sports festival, eager to demonstrate their quirks to the world.
Lewis sat at his desk, not joining in with the excitement. He looked around at the joyful expressions and sighed sadly. He didn't want to ruin it for them.
"Fleetwood, I take it you are excited as well," Iida stated, sliding up to Lewis' desk.
Lewis gulped and put on a fake smile.
"Err…yes, of course. It will be a little difficult to use my quirk, though," he answered anxiously.
"I'm sure you will find a solution," Iida reassured, "after all, you were able to resolve the bus situation flawlessly," he informed, causing Lewis to sweat drop.
"Iida, I don't think that really count as a resolved problem," Midoriya piped up, trying to help Lewis.
"Deku, Iida, Fleetwood," Ochako's voice called out to them, "let's do our best in the sports festival," she declared boldly, her face growing darker and violet light emitting from her.
"Err…Ochako are you alright?" Lewis asked in concern, slightly intimidated by her.
She didn't answer. She stamped her foot and raised a fist into the air.
"EVERYONE I'M GOING TO MY BEST!" she proclaimed to the class, causing the more excitable students to cheer her on.
Lewis looked at the peculiar sight in awe.
'I wonder what has gotten her so motivated?' he thought.
"Money. You want to become a hero because of money?" Lewis asked in confusion.
He, Ochako, Midoyia and Iida had left the class and were heading to the cafeteria. Midoyia had asked Ochako why she wanted to become a hero and her answer perplexed Lewis. He wasn't scrutinising her because he reckoned there was a story behind it, but it just seemed to unusual coming from Ochako.
"I'm sorry if that sounds greedy," Ochako said in embarrassment, "you three have such admirable motivations. I hope you don't think less of me now."
"Not at all," Iida denied, "your goal is to support your well-being which is a perfectly admirable ambition to have," he reassured.
Both Lewis and Midoyia nodded in agreement.
Ochako sighed, "You see my family owns a construction company, but we haven't gotten any work lately, so we're broke."
She explained how if she got a license, she could use her quirk to cut their expenses, however her parents insisted that they would be happier if she achieved her own dream and not worry about them. She still believes that she could help them despite their reassurance.
"I'm going to become a pro. I'll sign with a good agency and make plenty of money. Then I'll be able to let my parents an easy life," she explained, a fierce determination in her eyes.
Iida clapped at her small speech while Lewis and Midoyia smiled.
Lewis took a step forward.
"Ochako, that's great and all, but I think your looking at this wrong," Lewis told her, earning a confused look.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"Money may be the key to solving all your parents' problems, but what you are forgetting is that your parents are going to still love and support you know matter what you do. Don't feel that you have no other option but to devote your life for your parents. I'm not saying that what you are doing is wrong, just make sure to do other stuff as well. I'm sure your parents would prefer you to be happy then any sum of money," Lewis explained.
Ochako looked down at the floor for a moment. She didn't seem completely convinced but at least she was considering it.
"Thank you, Fleetwood," Ochako said after a moment of thinking, "I'm sure your parents love and support you as well," she told him with a bright smile.
Lewis smiled wavered for a second. He still hadn't told anybody about his parents yet.
"…Yeah, I'm sure they are," Lewis said looking away from Ochako.
Ochako frowned in concern at Lewis' hesitation.
A loud laugh rang out through the halls. From around a corner, All Might appeared in a black suit and posed dramatically.
"YOUNG MIDOYIA IS HERE!" he bellowed much to their shock.
"All Might, what are you doing here?" Midoyia asked curiously.
"LUNCH!" All Might replied.
Lewis blinked in confusion, "Lunch?" he repeated.
"YES," All Might answered holding up a bento wrapped in a blue napkin, "YOU WANT TO EAT WITH ME!?"
"That's adorable!" Ochako cried as she almost choked from laughing too hard.
Midoriya said his goodbyes and left with All Might, earning curious gazes from Iida and Ochako.
"I wonder why All Might wanted to see him?" Ochako asked.
Lewis sensed that he needed to put down their suspicions.
"Oh, you know how Midoriya, and All Might's quirks are similar," Lewis said, "well, Midoriya that All Might wanted to coach him a little on how to be careful during combat," he explained.
Not a lie, but not the truth either.
"I see," Iida said, accepting his story, "Midoriya is very lucky to have All Might as a tutor."
The trio took off for the cafeteria, unaware of Todoroki listening in on their conversation.
Staff Room
Lewis had some free time before classes started again and volunteered to take some papers to Aizawa in the staff room. Lewis knocked on the door and waited for permission to enter.
As the door swung open, Lewis' eyes widened in horror at the person who greeted him.
The teacher and hero, Midnight, was a beautiful woman with long dark hair, blue eyes and curvaceous body. She taught art history and was usually seen wearing her dominatrix style hero costume and pair of red glasses.
She was also the embodiment of everything that made Lewis anxious. From her flirty nature to the fact that she seemed to take particular interest of trying to make Lewis pass out.
Midnight smiled broadly as her eyes laid on Lewis, causing him to physically shiver.
"Well, well, well. What brings you here, sweetheart?" Midnight giggled, moving too close for Lewis' liking.
"Hello- I-I-I m-m-m-mean h-hello, M-M-Miss M-Midnight. I-I-I'm-m-m l-l-looking f-for A-A-Aizawa," Lewis stuttered trying his best to remain calm, but failing to do so.
Midnight pouted and stepped forward again.
"Aww, so you weren't looking for me," she teased, enjoying the shade of red Lewis' face had gotten.
"Kayama, leave him alone. He's got a job to do," came the bored voice of Aizawa from within the staff room.
Midnight took a step back, earning a sigh of relief from Lewis.
"I was just having some fun with the boy," Midnight argued back, before turning to Lewis again, "you can come in."
Lewis said a quiet thank you and slipped into the staff room. Ignoring the wink Midnight sent him. The other teachers in the room sighed at Midnight's antics and continued their work.
Lewis approached Aizawa and laid the stack of papers on his desk. The bandaged teacher was sat at a computer trying to type up something.
"Here you go, sir," Lewis said awkwardly, remembering his outburst this morning.
Aizawa merely nodded in thanks and continued slowly typing. Lewis could see that his teacher was having difficulties with his bandaged arm.
"Would like some help, sir?" Lewis asked kindly.
Aizawa glared up at him, "I am perfectly capable of doing things myself, Fleetwood," he said dismissively.
"Yeah right," Vlad King muttered from a couch, briefly looking up from his phone, "you've been trying to write that document for two hours now."
A few teachers in the room chuckled at Aizawa's expense.
Aizawa sent a warning glare to his fellow teacher, "Just because I was injured in battle doesn't mean I am restricted in my skills," he informed slamming his bandaged arm onto the keyboard in irritation.
However, Aizawa must have accidently clicked the wrong key because the computer turned off and Aizawa's progress was instantly loss, leaving both him and Lewis to stare blankly at the monitor.
….
….
….
….
Aizawa sighed, "Do you know how to use a Japanese keyboard, Fleetwood?" he asked in defeat.
"Yes," Lewis answered.
"Good. I'll dictate. You type."
A couple of minutes later and Lewis had rebooted his computer and started typing up the document again. After a while, Lewis decided it was time to apologise to Aizawa.
"I'm sorry for shouting at you in class this morning. I know I promised I wouldn't do that, I've just…been under a lot of stress lately," he told his teacher.
Aizawa glanced at him briefly before sighing.
"I understand," Aizawa admitted, "It was a dangerous situation and lives were on the line. I would be surprised if nobody didn't make a fuss over it. You acted appropriately."
Lewis smiled, "Thanks Mr. Aizawa."
Silence fell again between them. Aizawa wanted to say something but seemed hesitant.
"Fleetwood," Aizawa said, catching his student's attention, "I should apologise for what I said this morning," Aizawa continued, surprising Lewis, "you and Midoriya had sustained injuries and it was…wrong to put it so insensitively. I'm sorry."
Lewis blinked in shock at his teacher. He smiled gratefully.
"It's-"
"What's this I hear!?" cried Present Mic who was sat at the computer next to his, "Aizawa apologising for something he did wrong! This is a momentous occasion, dudes," he continued so everybody in the staff room could hear him.
Aizawa cringed in annoyance ad Present Mic started to laugh.
"How should we celebrate this! Maybe a big party or-"
Aizawa smashed his bandaged arm on Present Mic's keyboard making the computer shut off and the work he was doing gone.
Present Mic blinked in astonishment before slumping in his chair miserably.
Lewis cracked a small smile at that.
Class 1A
It was nearing the end of the school day and Lewis was feeling anxious.
Well, more anxious than usual.
His mind drifted back to how it was going to overcome the situation with his Frontal Lobe which he dubbed 'The Phineas Gage Problem.' Most medical journals mainly talk about the devastating effects of the Frontal Lobe. He swore if he read one more article about Walter Freeman and his lobotomy surgeries he would throw up.
Another thing plaguing his mind was the sports festival. He knew that the whole class would try and work apart in preparation for the sports festival and Lewis didn't like it. Lewis never liked competitions as the thought of people working against each other made him feel uneasy. He didn't even like board games that much.
It was worse when it came to his classmates as they were his peers and…friends.
They were his friends. For the first time in years, he had friends.
Why can't anybody understand that being a hero is not about fighting each other for the top position. It's about working together and forming a better society for everybody.
Lewis sighed sadly as he looked at his classmates. Bakugo and Todoroki definitely will not listen to him. The more enthusiastic students he could possibly sway, but it would be hard to convince them. His gaze fell on Iida and Momo.
He had an idea.
Standing up from his seat, Lewis walked up to them and got their attention.
"Fleetwood, how can I help," Iida greeted with a cheery voice.
"I was wondering if we can organise a class gathering."
"A gathering?" Momo asked.
"Yes. I'm sure the others are still feeling a little shaken up after the incident and I thought it would be a good way to calm them down. Not only that but with the festival around the corner I doubt we would get the opportunity to organise study groups and other things. What do you think?"
The plan was for the class to gather together and just a fun, easy time. They had only known each other for a short while, so this will be a good opportunity for them to get to learn about each other.
The more the class knows each other, the more likely they'll work together. Easing Lewis worries.
"That sounds like a great idea, Fleetwood," Iida complimented.
"Indeed," Momo agreed, "it would make things much easier. Excellent work, co-vice rep," Momo added, sending him a warm smile that made Lewis' heart skip a beat.
'And just when I thought I was getting the hang of interactions," Lewis thought as his cheeks flushed slightly.
"Where should we met?" Iida asked.
Oh.
Lewis hadn't thought that far ahead.
"Err…why don't we meet…"
School. Probably need permission.
A park. Too public.
A restaurant. Too expensive.
"…my…house. Yeah, my house. I can set out some snacks and other things," Lewis suggested.
"Excellent idea, Fleetwood," Iida said as he marched towards the front of the class.
'Why did I say my home?' he cried internally.
"Attention student," Iida announced, "tonight, we are holding a class meeting at Fleetwood's house to discuss plans leading up to the sports festival. This is important, so I recommended that all shall attend," Iida ordered firmly.
Most of the students groaned at the thought of going to a meeting.
"Fleetwood is also planning to set out snacks and other confectionaries for those who attend," Iida added.
That did the trick.
The class were more than eager to attend now at the promise of food. Some even thanked him for it.
Lewis smiled and stood stiffly next to Momo.
"Yaoyorozu," Lewis said.
"Yes, Fleetwood," Momo replied.
"Did Iida say tonight. As in after school?" he asked in dread.
"Unfortunately, yes," Momo answered in a sympathetic tone, "I believe Iida was a bit too enthusiastic."
Lewis nodded stiffly.
"Would like some help setting everything up?" Momo offered kindly.
"Yes please," Lewis replied, "You are a life saver, Yaoyorozu."
Momo knew he was exaggerating a little bit, but she couldn't help but blush at what he said.
And that's it.
Hope you enjoyed it.
I had to rewrite a couple parts of this story because I made Lewis sound too possessive over his classmates. Lewis just doesn't want anybody to get hurt and it will be an obvious weight on Lewis' mind during the sports festival arc.
He also holds views very similar to Stain. You can imagine the difficulties he would be in once he meets the Hero Killer.
Anyway, since I have mentioned Walter Freeman, I wanted to use this opportunity to rant about how much of an idiot this person was. I won't go into too much detail about what a lobotomy is, but it's absolutely horrible. It involves messing about with the Frontal Lobe in the belief that it would cure "psychological problems" (like phobias, alcoholism, homosexuality, basically anything that wasn't perceived as normal). In reality, most of Walter's patients received no benefit or were made worse than before as they became crippled for life. He had operated on over 3,000 people, of which 490 individuals died.
The worst thing, however, was not the fact that Walter wasn't a certified surgeon nor was it the fact that he wore casual clothing while doing the procedure nor was it that fact that he retired from doing lobotomies in 1967 after over thirty years of doing the surgery.
The worst thing was that lobotomies fell out of fashion. Not banned or made illegal. Fell out of fashion.
It's absolutely ridiculous.
*Sigh* Sorry about that. It just makes me so mad.
Anyway, I'm done now. I'll see you next time.
Bye :)
Next time: Lewis' organises a meeting and discovery a way to overcome his problem.
