Here's the next chapter. Hope you enjoy.
Guest - Thank you so much for your support. Sorry if I sounded grumpy last time. It's getting too hot where I am, and it always puts me in a bad mood. Also, I would never abandon this story. If I were to stop writing I would write a notice explaining why I am stopping, so don't worry.
Also, Yui definitely. I think it would be fun to write her.
Neo Infinity- Thank you. I'm glad you liked the speech. I thought it sounded cheesy, but maybe I was too critical of myself. Whether I will add older girls depends. If the age gap is not too ridiculous than yes (like Fuyumi, Bubble Girl etc) but older women will be a little harder to make believable (like Midnight, Mandalay etc). Your idea is quite interesting, I probably think of something similar.
Djinn - Thank you like always. That was a very beautiful analysis. I couldn't have put it better. Music is definitely important for Lewis, because not only does it help him with his quirk, but it also connects him to his mother who loved music as well.
One of the main reasons why I decided to write Lewis' backstory that way is because it is a typical theme that a hero's parents die because of a villain and that is why they become a hero (like batman). However, Lewis does not blame the villain, but the society that created them. So, Lewis is more motivated to change society for the better then to actually defeat villains. It also proves that people are not defined by tragic events that has inflicted upon them but by their reactions to them. Imagine if Batman didn't waste his money on dressing like a bat and actually used his money to help improve life in Gotham. It would be a short comic franchise, but my point still stands.
WilliamLeonis - Thanks, I'm so glad you like it.
Sorry for sounding miserable last time, I am. Thank you for understanding, I am. (Speaking like Yoda is weirdly hard for some reason)
Sen Tobi - Thanks again for the correction. I hope you enjoy the chapter.
PSYCONIG - ...well...I mean there are like eleven chapters explaining why it works. I don't know what you want.
Rubixjr -Thank you so much. I guess people are just desperate, so betrayals are expected. I have some ideas how Lewis can take out a little revenge.
Rainwalker12 - Thanks. I appreciate all the support and I hope you enjoy this chapter.

Chapter 12: Cavalry Battle
Lewis appeared near the back of the group. He scouted ahead at the next obstacle and teleported to it.
He stood on the edge of a minefield where students cautiously crossed it trying to not set the mines off. Lewis even saw Bakugo and Todoroki, who were joint first, being careful. Obviously, they weren't real mines, but according to Present Mic's commentary they pack a punch.
He could easily teleport to the other side, but then he spotted the boy who wouldn't help him earlier. Lewis frowned in annoyance as he saw him cross the minefield before he smiled mischievously.
He had an idea, but first he needed to find a way to test how powerful those mines were.
He glanced to his left and saw Momo attempt to cross the minefield. He was about turn back when he saw Mineta approach her from behind with two black balls in his hand. He had a perverted look on his face as he prepared to jump on Momo's back.
Lewis, however, was not going to let that happen.
Mineta was a simple male with simple needs. However, most of those needs (arguably all of them) involve girls in some shape or form. So, when he sees an opportunity to not only get across the finish line, but to cling onto Class 1A's bustiest student, how could he ignore it.
He made sure that she was distracted before creeping up behind her. Taking to sticky balls from his head, he was about jump onto Momo's back when somebody grabbed him by the back of his PE kit and lift him off the ground with ease.
Mineta met Lewis' cold stare hidden by his glasses and shivered slightly at the sight.
"Thanks, Mineta," Lewis told him with a smirk.
Mineta blinked, "For what?"
"Your sacrifice," Lewis simply responded before he threw Mineta into the minefield.
Mineta screamed as he flew into the air before he landed roughly onto a mine. Mineta screamed again as he was sent hurtling into the air in an explosion and out of sight.
Lewis and Momo watched the explosion with interest.
"So that's how powerful they are," Lewis hummed.
"Yes," Momo agreed, "but it was such an unorthodox method," Momo said before she turned to Lewis with a smile, "Thank you."
"No problem," Lewis happily said as he backed up a little bit.
"Where are you going?" Momo asked when she saw him take a few steps back.
Lewis gave her a wide grin, "Have I ever mentioned how I competed in a gymnastics competition?"
"No," Momo answered honestly.
Lewis chuckled, "I came in fourth," he said before he sprinted at the minefield.
He leaped into the minefield and landed on his hands, being careful to not land on any mines. Pushing himself off the ground and performing a forward flip, Lewis was able to acrobatically cross the landmines. He flipped, jumped, and leaped over the mines, miraculously not hitting a single mine.
The other students were surprised by this as Lewis passed them, but even more shocked as to how he was setting a single mine off.
What Lewis had failed to inform everyone is that he didn't just inherit his father's quirk, but a combination of both his and Lewis' mother's quirk. In fact, you could say that the quirk he inherited from his mother is more important than his father's:
Detail: Able to remember every piece of information in a moment accurately. This involves everything she sees, hears, smells, taste, feels, reads or experience to the smallest detail.
Like her brother, Lilith was great when it came to police interrogations.
This wasn't the same as a photographic memory. It was better. Lewis recalls how she was able to say how many leaves on a tree after a couple of seconds of looking.
Lilith's quirk is what allows Lewis to remember all the places he has been to, which is why it is very important. It was nowhere near as good as his mother's, but it was helpful for things like languages, studying and the exact distance and position of explosives in a minefield.
He was quickly approaching the student that didn't help him earlier. With a smirk, Lewis flipped over the surprised student and landed in front of him. The student blinked in confusion as to why he stopped in front of him. Did he want a fight? Have an argument?
He was even more confused when Lewis mouthed the word 'Sorry' to him before he pointed down at the ground. The student frowned and looked at where he was pointing at, only for his eyes to widened when he saw that Lewis had landed firmly on a landmine.
Because the student has taken his eyes off Lewis, he was able to use his quirk to disappear. Leaving the student to be hit with the full blast of the explosion.
End Of the Minefield
Lewis smiled as he reappeared near the finish line. He only had to go through another narrow passageway, and he will be first.
He turned to see Bakugo and Todoroki near the end of the field fighting each other, making Lewis roll his eyes and sigh. At least they were drawing everybody's attention away from him.
He was about turn away when an explosion, much larger and louder than the ones before, erupted on the other side of the minefield. Lewis frowned in confusion and concern as he tried to find what caused the explosion. He spotted something flying towards him.
No someone.
"Midoriya?" Lewis muttered in astonishment.
The green haired boy was riding on a large piece of metal propelled by the explosion that he likely created. He sailed over the other students including Tordoroki and Bakugo who had stopped fighting to watch the spectacle.
They didn't wait for long as Bakugo used his explosion to propel himself to the end of the minefield while Todoroki froze the ground in front of her and skidded along it.
It happened so fast, that Lewis had completely forgot he was in a race.
And in first place.
Midorya passed him, but Lewis only had to use his quirk to get ahead of him. The problem was that he was too exposed to disappear, meaning that he would have to run to the entrance of the tunnel.
Todoroki spotted Lewis turning to chase after Midoriya and gritted her teeth in anger. She knew that he could only disappear to places he has seen, and it seemed unlikely that he had seen the other end of the passageway.
She would have to take drastic measures.
Lewis gasped as he felt something very cold and painful spread across his eyes and glasses. He fell onto his knees in pain as he tried to pull the ice of his face. Luckily, he had his eyes closed and was protected by his glasses when it happened otherwise it would have been much more severe.
'Dammit Todoroki, that was dangerous,' he muttered angrily in his mind.
He had no time for this. He was not going to lose.
Lewis crawled himself into a ball and felt his quirk working. He pictured the entrance of passageway and teleported to there. He staggered to his feet and felt the walls on either side of him as he blindly made his way down the passageway.
He just needed to run. He didn't care what position he was in or where the other participants are.
He just needed to finish this race.
The cheering crowds was the first indication that he made it to the end. Then the walls came to an end and Lewis staggered onto the grassy field.
He fell onto his knees once more as he tried to chip away the ice from his face. It had begun to make his face go numb and needed to get it off as soon as possible.
"Here," a cool voice told him as he felt something burning hot near his face.
Lewis let the person remove the ice from his eyes as he tried to catch his breath. Soon his glasses dropped away, and he blinked a few times as he tried to get used to the bright light. He rubbed his eyes and looked up at the stoic face of Todoroki, her left hand giving off a small fire.
Half-Hot, Half Cold: the ability to generate ice from the right side of her body, and flames from her left side.
Lewis looked around the arena the best he could without his glasses. Squinting his eyes, Lewis saw Midoriya (judging by the green blur) from afar recovering from the race. He couldn't see the blurry screen announcing their position, but hearing Present Mic's announcement Lewis could tell that Midoriya came in first.
"Are you alright?" she asked as she extinguished her flames and offered her hand to him.
Lewis slapped her hand away and stood shakily to his feet.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Lewis angrily demanded.
"I know it was drastic-" Todoroki began as she maintained her calm visage.
"Drastic?" Lewis repeated in disbelief, "that was dangerous. I could have suffered serious damage."
Todoroki frowned, "I knew your glasses would protect your eyes. It was a strategic countermeasure, not a vicious attack."
Lewis glared at Todoroki, "Is this race really that important to you? Are you hellbent on winning that you are willing to risk other's lives?" he asked critically.
Todoroki glared back and got into Lewis' face aggressively.
"Don't you dare judge me. You have no idea what I have been through," she snarled.
"Yeah, been through. As in the past. Why don't you try living in the present for a change," Lewis argued back before he stormed off.
Todoroki watched him leave silently. She looked down to see he had left his glasses on the ground and picked them up. The lenses were cracked, and the frame was bent out of shape, making it completely unusable.
Todoroki hummed before she pocketed the glasses.
"Fleetwood, well do-ow!" Midoriya began before Lewis accidently rammed into him.
"Oh Midoriya, I'm so sorry," Lewis apologised, his mood slowly cooling down.
"It's all right," Midoriya brushed off, "where are your glasses?"
"Todo- they were destroyed during the race," Lewis told him, as he scratched the back of his head.
"Oh…I see," Midoriya hesitantly said, wondering what he was going to say first, "anyway well done."
Lewis chuckled, "I should be congratulating you. You got first place."
"Yes, but second is good as well," Midoriya told him.
Lewis blinked in disbelief, "What?"
"You got second," Midoriya repeated, "didn't you see the screen?"
"Glasses, Midoriya."
"Oh sorry," he realised.
"Really I got second place? But I was behind Bakugo and Todoroki," Lewis uttered in confusion.
"You must have used your quirk to get in front of them," Midoriya suggested.
"But I was…"
Before Lewis can continue Ochako came running up to them slightly out of breath.
"Deku, that was amazing! I can't believe you made it to first place!" she cried happily as Midoriya wrapped his arms around himself bashfully, "And Fleetwood, how you crossed that minefield was incredible! You are very flexible for someone so tal- hey where are your glasses?"
"Destroyed," Lewis answered simply, "well done for getting through as well," he congratulated before turning to a frowning Midoriya.
"Are you alright?" Lewis asked in concern.
Midoriya snapped out of his thoughts and gave Lewis a smile, "I'm fine. Honest."
Lewis hummed in concern but didn't push the matter any further. Instead, he turned to the finish line to see who else had got through.
It seemed to be mostly hero course students at first, but Lewis was glad to see some other students as well. One of them being Shinso who seemed to dislike the number of hero course students here. The other was Hatsume who was being her usual eccentric self, grinning wildly and tweaking some of the gear she brought with her.
"Fleetwood," somebody called.
Lewis squinted and recognised the robotic movements that could only be achieved by Iida. The class president waved at him and marched towards him.
"Hi Iida," Lewis greeted, "congratulations on getting through."
Iida nodded stiffly, "Yes, I only wish I achieved a higher position," he sighed.
"Well, what position you came in is not important as long as you tried your best," Lewis reassured him before his smile wavered, "…I suppose that's little rich from me…like how billionaires say that money can't buy happiness…but my point still stands."
Iida seemed to perk up after that.
"Thank you, Fleetwood. I suppose moaning about what position I'm in is unsportsmanlike."
"No problem," Lewis said, happy that he could help.
"And you are also correct about money not buying happiness," Iida told him, those are words to live by Fleetwood."
Lewis sweat dropped, 'He completely missed the point,' he internally sighed.
"By the way, Fleetwood," Iida continued, "have you seen Mineta? He wasn't with the other students at the finish line."
"Err…" Lewis hummed.
Minefield
Meanwhile, Mineta laid face down in the dirt surrounded by unexploded mines. He was bruised all over and caked in mud and pieces of landmine.
He lifted his head up, "Damn you, foreign pretty boy," he muttered before his face landed in the mud again.
Arena
"…No, haven't seen him," Lewis told Iida with a shrug.
Iida nodded in understanding before he noticed that Lewis' glasses are gone.
"Oh Fleetwood, your-"
"Yeah, they were destroyed," Lewis interrupted, already knowing what he was about to say.
"If you want you can borrow one of mine," Iida offered as he pulled a pair of glasses exactly like the ones he was wearing from nowhere.
Lewis smiled gratefully, "Thanks, but I was going to wear my prescribed goggles from my hero costume instead."
"Aww do you have to?" Tokage said as she hugged his side, "how would I see your pretty green eyes, huh?" she teased with a wide grin.
Lewis looked down and smirked at Tokage, making the lizard girl raise an eyebrow in confusion.
'Not today, Tokage. Because what you don't know is that part of my Frontal Lobe is still missing…,' he thought in glee before he realised what he said, '…that sounded weird out of context.'
"Well, why don't you and I go out after. That way we can be lost in each other eyes," he leaned in closer to her face, "for as long as you like."
Tokage looked up at him blankly, blinking in surprise. Her face suddenly turned red, she pulled away from Lewis and started slapping his shoulder.
"Ha Ha Ha. What was that? A pickup line!?" she asked in between laughter that sounded fake, "That was so lame! I bet that was first time you used one of those! You have to try better then that to impress me! I think Kendo is calling me! Bye!" she said rapidly before she retreated.
Lewis watched her stiffly walk away with her hands covering her flushed face and gave a satisfied smile.
'I really shouldn't be proud of that,' Lewis thought to himself, 'Who knew Tokage is actually pretty innocent."
Unaware to Lewis, Mina watched the interaction from afar causing her to frown in jealously. He had never teased back whenever she teased him.
"Anyway, I think I'm going to have a little rest before the next event," Lewis told Iida as he made his way to where he can sit down.
"Good idea, Fleetwood. Goodbye," Iida said as he too left to get some rest.
Lewis sat down on the grass close to where the others were resting. He flicked his right hand and a pair of goggles appeared which he placed over his head. He then flicked his left hand and his phone and earphones appeared in it. He put the earphones in and started to play one of the slower songs on his playlist.
Now that he could see, Lewis looked towards the screen which displayed their results and sure enough he was second. Lewis had no idea how he got before Bakugo and Todoroki. Maybe he could talk to th-
'That might not be a good idea,' Lewis thought sadly.
Now that he was listening to his music, he was regaining his Frontal Lobe much faster than usual and consequently regretting his argument with Todoroki.
'I shouldn't have shouted at her. That was really mean of me. It wasn't like she wanted to hurt me…well probably nothing too damaging anyway,' Lewis thought.
He felt a presence sit down beside him. He turned around and was surprised to Shiozaki sitting cross legged next to him.
"Shiozaki, hi," Lewis greeted as he took one of his earphones out.
"Hello, Fleetwood," Shiozaki greeted back with a kind smile, "what are you listening to?"
"Oh, it's called 'Whispering Grass' by Don Estelle and Windsor Davies," Lewis answered, "it's a song from the mid-70s. Would you like to listen?"
Shiozaki frowned slightly, "Is it rock music? I don't usually listen to-"
"Oh no it's the opposite," Lewis reassured as he held out an earphone, "It is very slow and calming."
Shiozaki hesitated for a moment before she took the earphone and placed it in her ear. She listened to the music and smiled. She only understood some of the lyrics, but the piano and the singing were good enough for her.
"This is very a lovely song, thank you Fleetwood," Shiozaki nodded, much to Lewis' happiness.
"No problem," he told her, "Not to be rude, but is there a reason you've sat down with me?"
Shiozaki nodded once more, "You seemed to be upset about something and as a follower of the Lord I have come to help you. Is it because of your parents passing? I was saddened to hear that, but I reassure you that their souls will forever be in heaven."
Lewis sensed that she was going off course and needed to interrupt her.
"Thank you, Shiozaki, but that was a long time ago. I'm alright about now. I was actually upset about an incident I had with Todoroki," Lewis explained, making Shiozaki hum in understanding, "I got angry at her and now I regret it."
"What did she do?" Shiozaki asked.
"…Well, that's not important," Lewis said since he didn't want Todoroki to get in trouble, "The point is I should've been calmer when dealing with the situation. She's my classmate and I want her to form a better relationship with everybody."
"Well Fleetwood, being angry at somebody over an incident is natural," Shiozaki reassured him, "I had to scold many of my classmates for using deception in their training. Such inappropriate behaviour for a hero."
Lewis nodded and decided to not tell her the fact that deception is a massive factor in the way he fights.
"However, you shouldn't worry about these things. Just learn from your mistake and make sure you are calmer the next time you converse with her," Shiozaki told him as she placed a hand on his shoulder.
Lewis nodded and smiled at her, "Thanks Shiozaki. I feel better now."
Shiozaki expression brightened, "It is my pleasure, Fleetwood."
"I think you should've been in Class 1A," Lewis admitted, "that way you would be able to get the attention 1B deserves and show everybody how amazing you are," he told her with a little chuckle.
Shiozaki stared at Fleetwood with flushed cheeks. His kind words, his soft laughter even the way the sunlight illuminated him reminded her of the day they met at the entrance exam. How he carried her away from harm, his bright smile, his angelic appearan-
Shiozaki suddenly moved away from Lewis, got on her knees, and began to pray rapidly. Lewis looked at her oddly as she mumbled something about 'lecherous thoughts' and 'forgiveness'.
"Err…Shiozaki…" Lewis said in confusion.
"Everybody, gather around for the next event," Midnight announced getting everybody's attention.
Lewis made his phone disappeared and joined the crowd that stood in front of Midnight's podium.
"Only the next 42 will advance to the next round, but don't be too late down if you didn't make the cut," Midnight announced, "we have prepared other opportunities for you to shine," she told them licking her lips, "now the real fun begins. The chance to fully move yourselves into the limelight. Give it your best!"
Lewis sighed in exhaustion. It would seem competitiveness is still a big thing despite his speech.
Midnight cracked her whip, "and the second event is…"
The screen behind her lit up with the words 'Cavalry Battle'.
"A cavalry battle?" Lewis uttered in confusion before he turned to Midoriya beside him, "What's a cavalry battle?"
"I guess you don't have them in England, huh," Midoriya replied with a smile, "it's a game where a team of three people carry a fourth person, and they have to try and knock other teams down or steal their headbands. We usually play it at sports days."
"Oh, like that pool game," Lewis realised, "…but instead of water its…the hard ground."
"Yes, I suppose it can be dangerous," Midoriya admitted.
"Allow me to explain," Midnight continued as the screen now showed All Might being carried by Thirteen and Present Mic, "the participants will form teams of two to four people as they see fit. In theory, it's the same as a regular playground game, but there is one difference. Each player has been assigned a number of points based on the results of the obstacle course. The point assigned go up in multiples of five. Forty second place gets five points while forty first place gets ten points and so on."
'I see that would mean I would have 205 points and Midoriya would have 210," Lewis thought.
"And the point value assigned to the first place is…" Midnight announced, "Ten Million!"
….
….
….
….
Midoriya and Lewis were shocked to hear this. The crowd of participants glared at Midoriya competitively. It was like he was the small fish in a tank filled with very hungry sharks.
Lewis was shocked. Actually, he was more then shocked. He was horrified by this announcement. This sports festival painted a target on Midoriya's back for no reason whatsoever. What was this supposed to teach them. That there only way you can get through this life is stepping on others until you're too exhausted or too weak to fight back.
Lewis was livid. It was almost as if they didn't hear his speech from before.
Lewis barely listened to the rules. He knew that they would each be given a bandanna with their points on, and others would have to steal, but that was about it. They had been given fifteen minutes to from their teams, however Lewis was going to use this opportunity to complain to Midnight.
"Fleetwood, would you like to joi-"
"Sorry Midoriya, but I have talk to Midnight," Lewis excused himself as he followed his teacher down an exit tunnel.
"Oh okay," Midoriya mumbled in disappointment.
Lewis had found Midnight getting a bottle of water from the vending machine. She looked around and sighed sadly when she saw Lewis' approach.
"I knew this will happen," she mumbled to herself before addressing Lewis, "I'm sorry, but I can't change the point assignment, Fleetwood."
"But Miss Midnight, this has to be some sort of joke," Lewis complained, "Midoriya is made a victim for no reason whatsoever."
"It wasn't my decision," Midnight told him, "The school board says we need to teach students how it is in the real world and what it is like to be the number one hero."
"Fine…then…then let me have the ten million points," Lewis suggested.
Midnight gave a sympathetic frown, "Fleetwood, I know he's your friend, but you can't take away his burden and put on yourself. Besides, I have already announced that Midoriya will have the points."
"Okay…then…I'll drop out," Lewis told her desperately.
"Fleetwood," Midnight sighed.
"I-I-I mean it. I don't want to participate in these games anymore. I didn't want to do it in the beginning," Lewis firmly said.
"You can't drop out," Midnight said.
"Why not?"
"Because I won't let you," the teacher said as she placed a hand on his shoulder, "this is too good of an opportunity for you to give up. What would your parents think-"
"My parents are dead," he angrily interrupted, "they cannot think or care about my actions."
"Then what would your classmates think," Midnight firmly told him, "or your teachers, or your uncle or everybody who has ever supported you. Do you think they want you to give up?"
Lewis' expression softened. He bowed his head sadly and his shoulders slumped.
"I just want everybody to be happy," he whispered.
Midnight nodded sympathetically, "I know Fleetwood. Every hero does," she used her finger to lift his chin so he could see her face, "but don't throw it all away over one stupid game. Pick your battles, okay."
"Okay," Lewis whispered in reply.
"Good, now get back to the field. You need to pick a team," she told him as she gently pushed him toward the exit.
"Thank you, Miss Midnight," Lewis said before he left the tunnel.
Midnight watched him leave with a small smile on her face.
"He's a good kid," she said out loud, "no wonder you like him."
Aizawa stepped out from around the corner behind Midnight and grunted irritably at what she said.
"His frequent rebellions are annoying and not rational," Aizawa murmured as he stood next to his fellow teacher, "but I guess he is a good kid," he admitted.
Midnight chuckled, "He kind of reminds me of you when we were at school," she told him, earning an interest hum from Aizawa, "but unlike you, he doesn't look like a homeless person."
"I don't know why I talk to you, Kayama," Aizawa groaned, ignoring her laughter as he made his way back to the commentator's box.
Arena
Lewis looked around the crowd of students trying to pick a partner. It looked like most of Class 1A had gone to either Bakugo or Todoroki, so he won't have any luck there. That is why he decided to try asking some of the students in class 1B.
Lewis approached Kendo who was talking to Tokage and Yanagi. Kendo had a wide grin on her face as she talked to Tokage, while the lizard girl was frowning in embarrassment.
"…backfired on you," Kendo said as Lewis only caught the end of her sentence.
"Shut up," Tokage muttered, "how was I supposed to know he would do that."
"That's what you get for playing with fire," Yanagi told her with her own ghostly smile.
"Err…hi," Lewis introduced himself, making the girls turn to him, "I was wondering if I could join your group for the cavalry battle."
Kendo smiled sadly, "Sorry Fleetwood, but we promised Kinoko we would let her join," Kendo told him.
"That's a shame," Lewis hummed.
"What's really a shame is that you won't be in a group with bunch of cute girls, you perv," Tokage interrupted with a wide smile.
"You're trying too hard. Stop embarrassing yourself," Yanagi told her, making Tokage hang her head in defeat.
Lewis frowned in confusion at Tokage before he turned back to Kendo.
"Do you recommend any other people in your class that might let me join?" he asked.
"Not Monoma," the girls chorused sharply with serious looks.
"…Okay…I won't ask…him," Lewis said, feeling a little freaked out, "thanks for the help," he said before he took his leave.
Lewis frowned as he saw that almost everybody has a group now. He needed to join one quickly before-
"Fleetwood, ribbit," the familiar nasally voice of Asui interrupted his thoughts.
He looked around and saw the frog girl and Shoji make his way towards him.
"Would you like to join our team?" Shoji said though his arm mouth.
"What really?" Lewis gasped in surprise, "I won't be able to use my quirk."
Shoji grinned while Asui ribbit happily.
"That's only if you are the horse, ribbit," Asui said.
"But I would still be seen if I was the person riding," Lewis said.
"We have a way to counter that," Shoji told him.
Time has run out and the teams stood around the arena, ready to begin the event. Lewis had seen Midoriya's group and was surprised to see Hatsume on the team. He guessed that Hatsume chose that team to get attention and prayed that she wouldn't do anything weird to them.
The teams and points were presented on the big screen:
Team Midorya – 10,000,315 points
Team Tetsutestsu – 685 points
Team Bakugo – 650 points
Team Todoroki – 600 points
Team Lewis – 490 points
Team Hagakure – 390 points
Team Monoma – 305 points
Team Shinso- 290 points
Team Kendo – 225 points
Team Kodai – 165 points
Team Rin – 125 points
Team Tsunotori – 70 points
Lewis sighed at the situation he was currently in.
"This is certainly a low point in my life," Lewis mumbled in irritation, starting to feel slightly claustrophobic in Shoji's arm wings.
"How do you think I feel," Asui said, filling the least amount of space due to Lewis' size.
Shoji's and Asui's plan was not complicated. Lewis was unceremoniously pushed onto Shoji's back, and he was completely hidden in Shoji's arms along with Asui. Shoji acted as their transport and look out, Asui was their defence and Lewis was the attacker. Lewis was wearing his bandanna around his neck while Asui wore both hers and Shoji's.
"Shoji, are you sure I'm not too heavy?" Lewis asked with uncertainty.
The masked teen turned to face him, "Don't worry. You're surprisingly light."
"I'll take that as a compliment," Lewis muttered.
"So, what's our strategy, Fleetwood, ribbit," Asui asked.
Lewis hummed as he stared out the gap between Shoji's arms.
"Well, we need to stay away from Todoroki, Midoriya, Bakugo and Kendo. They are too heavily defended. It would be better to stay back and wait until everybody distracted by Midoriya and attack," Lewis told them, internally groaning at the though of his friend becoming a target.
"We're not going for the ten million?" Shoji's questioned.
"No, it's too risky. I bet most of the teams will be going after it and we don't want to be in the middle of it. We'll take out time. We don't want to exhaust ourselves," Lewis told him.
"Okay, all you first years," Present Mic announced, "I hope you're happy with your chose teams!"
From across the field, a student smirked confidently whilst sat on his teams shoulders. He had short blond hair, fair skin, and a look of superiority on his face.
"Hey Monoma," the blond teens attention was drawn away from the field by one of his teammate who happened to be the black skinned teen from the obstacle course.
"Yes, Kuroiro?" Monoma asked.
Kuroiro glared at Lewis' team, "Why don't we go after that American guy. I saw him at the first event. His more powerful then he looks," he suggested, gritting his teeth.
"I think Kendo said he was English," Tsuburaba said.
He was another teen with short brown hair fair skin and oval pupils. He was another of Monoma's teammates.
"Whatever," Kuroiro muttered.
Monoma hummed as he looked towards Lewis team.
"Perhaps, perhaps," he said with a superior smirk, "I think I have a better idea."
He turned to team next to his which consisted of Class 1B students as well including Shiozaki and the silver haired teen.
"Tetsutetsu," Monoma called out.
"Huh," Tetsutetsu grunted in reply.
"You remember that 1A student who mocked everybody the other day," Monoma told him, making Tetsutetsu nod.
"Yeah, but after that speech earlier I think he was being genuinely nice," Tetsutetsu replied as he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
Monoma chuckled, "Oh Tetsutetsu, that's how 1A operates. They may seem innocent, but it's all an act. I mean look," he pointed towards Lewis' team, "see how he hides instead of facing his challengers."
Tetsutetsu looked towards the team and growled angrily.
"You're right. Thanks, Monoma, I was almost fooled by that coward," Tetsutetsu said as he slammed his fist into his open palm.
"Anytime, Tetsutetsu, anytime," Monoma waved off with a smirk, "May I make a suggestion to teach that coward a lesson?"
Tetsutetsu grunted with interest as he listened to Monoma. Kuroiro smirked secretly at the thought of him being down a peg. The only person not happy was Shiozaki who looked worried for Lewis' safety.
"3..."
Present Mic announced as he started the countdown.
"2..."
The teams got ready for the starting bell.
"1..."
Lewis made sure his goggles were firmly over his eyes.
"GO!"
As predicted, most of the teams went after Team Midoriya. Lewis stared through the gap in worry but sighed in relief when they used a combination of Hatsune's support gear and Ochako's quirk to evade them.
"Fleetwood over there," Asui pointed out of the gap.
Lewis looked and saw a boy from class 1B with the head of an insect riding on the back of Tsunotori. Lewis observed the area making sure he can spot the perfect moment. Once he was happy, he gave a thumbs up to Asui and she closed her eyes.
Tsunotori galloped like a horse towards the place Team Midoriya would land when she felt a breeze go by. Confused she came to a stop and looked around.
"Tsunotori, what's wrong?" her insect headed partner asked.
She looked up at him and her eyes widened in shock.
"Kamakiri...where...bandanna?" she asked in broken Japanese.
Kamakiri frowned in confusion before he felt around his neck where he had kept the bandanna. He gasped and his mandibles clicked in irritation when he discovered that his bandanna had been stole.
"Dammit!"
"I've got it," Lewis as he reappeared on Shoji.
He showed Asui the two bandannas that were wrapped around Kamakiri's neck, making them gain 70 points.
Team Lewis – 560 points
"Great job, Fleetwood, ribbit," Asui croaked happily.
"I'm just surprised. I manage to pull it off," Lewis admitted as he wrapped the bandannas around his neck, "where should we-"
Lewis suddenly stopped and grabbed onto something rope-like that entered their cocoon. Lewis cringed in slight pain as the rope pricked his hand. Taking a closer look, Lewis noticed that it wasn't a rope, but a green vine.
Shiozaki's vines.
The vine tightened around his waist and pulled Lewis out of Shoji's arms and into the air. Whilst in the air, Lewis heard a victorious laughter from behind them.
"THERE YOU ARE 1A COWARD!" Tetsutetsu shouted triumphantly, "I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU HOW TO FIGHT LIKE A REAL MAN!"
"Forgive me for this, Fleetwood," Shiozaki softly said as she pulled Lewis towards Team Tetsutetsu.
The silver haired teens fist turned metallic as Lewis was pulled towards him.
Steel: allows him to turn his body into steel, which gives him a great defensive ability.
Tetsutetsu reared back his fist and aimed a punch at the incoming Lewis.
However, Lewis flicked his free hand and made a playing card appear. This wasn't any playing card, however, but one of his prototypes that he had been working on in the Support Department. It had one very sharp edge, perfect for cutting rope or in this case vines.
Lewis swiped the card on the vine, setting him free from Shiozaki's vines. He was still heading headfirst into Tetsutetsu's steel fist, but, with the lack of direction, Lewis was slightly off course.
Lewis sailed over the incoming fist, making Tetsutetsu miss his mark. As the steel boy grunted in confusion, Lewis grabbed on to his outstretched hit and push himself off into the air.
He felt something strong and wet wrap around his leg and pull him towards his team again. He looked down and saw a tongue pulling him back and guessed it was Asui's. Not missing a beat, Lewis grabbed onto Tetsutetsu's bandanna and pulled it off.
As Lewis was pulled back, he waved at Tetsutetsu and mouthed the word 'sorry' sheepishly before landing on Shoji's back again.
Tetsutetsu blinked in surprise, trying to process what happened. He snarled and shook his fist at Lewis.
"DAMMIT! THAT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN! COME BACK HERE!" he shouted angrily.
"Tetsutetsu, please don't curse," Shiozaki scolded gently.
Shoji managed to get away from Team Tetsutetsu much to their relief. Shoji had yet to cover the two with his arm wings yet, meaning that Lewis and Asui had time to recover.
"Thanks, Asui," Lewis told his teammate as he placed the bandanna around his neck.
Team Lewis – 720 points
"That was a close one, ribbit, we need to be more car-watch out!" Asui shouted.
But it was to late.
Lewis felt the bandannas around his neck being snatched off. Lewis turned around to see the smirking face of Monoma and his team as they passed them by.
Team Lewis – 280 Points
"Hey," Asui shouted angrily as Shoji turned Team Monoma.
The blond haired boy chuckled, "Tetsutetsu did a great job distracting you. Funny how the 'superior' Class 1A was easily fooled by a simple trick."
Lewis frowned, "I presume your Monoma. Kendo warned me about you."
"Oh really," Monoma said with a mocking smile.
"Class 1A is not superior to anyone. We are all heroes who want to help society. 1B is just as good as 1A," Lewis told him, earning a laugh from Monoma.
"You say we are equals," the blond haired boy told him condescendingly, "you're either lying or delusional. If you were lying that would mean you do thing Class 1A is superior and therefore we must vanquish you."
"And why would I be delusional if I wasn't lying," Lewis growled.
Monoma smirked, "Because you would see that 1B surpasses 1A at everything. Your time in the spotlight is coming to an end. Hope you're prepared to stay in our shadows."
With a lazy wave, Team Monoma began to run away from them with their points.
"We need to go after them," Shoji said as he took off.
Lewis looked down at the faces of his teammates. They were filled with rage and annoyance. He looked up at Monoma who smirked back at him. Kuririo also grinned maliciously back at him.
Almost immediately, Lewis knew what they were planning.
"No wait. He's only trying to-"
But it was too late. Tsuburaba blew something out of his mouth and Shoji slammed into it. Lewis almost fell off but managed to cling on to his teammate's back. Lewis tapped on the thing solid see through object that floated in the air.
"Is this…air?" Lewis muttered.
Solid Air: allows him to solidify any air he breathes out, allowing him to create invisible walls and/or platforms.
"Fleetwood, can you use your quirk?" Shoji asked.
Lewis looked around and saw that Team Monoma had moved to the centre of the arena.
"No, I'm too exposed. I won't make it back," Lewis said.
The only reason he was able to use his quirk on Team Tsunotori was because they were near the edge where less people can see him.
"Then I'll just pull you back," Asui suggested.
Lewis shook his head, "Your tongue won't reach that far. They've planned this," he muttered in frustration.
"Then what do we do?" Shoji asked desperately.
Lewis had no idea. His mind was only filled with annoyance over what Monoma said to him.
Lying.
Delusion.
He poured his heart out to the world and this is what he gets.
He pictured the back of Monoma's head in his mind. He saw the bandannas wrapped around them. Just there for the taking.
If only he could reach out and grab them and rip them off his head.
That's when he felt something in his right hand. He slid his thumb over it, feeling the familiar touch of the bandanna. He felt something else on his knuckles.
Was that…hair?
He looked down in confusion to see what was in his hand and gasped.
He didn't gasp at what was in his hand.
Because his hand was gone, leaving behind a stumped arm.
His hand had vanished.
Disappeared.
First of all, I would like to apologise for not mentioning Lewis' mother's quirk. I was supposed to write it in an earlier chapter, but I had completely forgotten. This wasn't a spontaneous excuse to why Lewis had a good memory.
I hope I did a good job on the point system. That took a lot of calculations.
As to how Lewis made it before Bakugo and Todoroki…well let's just say it will be important in the future.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed this chapter. England is playing today, so I am off to watch that. Hopefully, those football hooligans would be better behaved then last time. It was awful how they shouted at that German girl. They are the people that make me hate football.
Thanks :)
