this is the 74th hunger games in haymichs perspective it's a bit different from the way katniss tells it but it's the best I could do :)

part one the tributes chapter one

As I woke up startled from a dream it took me a moment to realise that I was in my own bed safe in my house in victors village. I can still hear there voices in my head ma's, Sid's, and my sweet lenore dove all unnecessary deaths on my hands. My head is pounding as I try to get up from my bed today is the only day I leave the comfort of my house in victors village reaping day Witch also just so happens to be my birthday I rember when ma would wake me up on reaping day the only day I didn't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to go to work

I walk down to the kitchen and open a bottle of alcohol and drink it in one go alcohol is the only thing that gets me through reaping day I can already feet the effect of the alcohol starting to burn away the bad dreams and the pain I throw on a white shirt and a brown jacket with matching pants and head for the town square

Just as the town clock hits two the mayor steps up on the podium I've already have had more bottles of alcohol than I can count I can barely remember what's happening my vision is a bit disoriented because of the drink but I can still hear the mayor yapping on about the history of panem how it rose from the ashes or something he talks for another 10 ta 15 minutes then he reads out the list of past district 12 victors witch is only me and one other girl Lucy grey she was covey like my girl

I stagger onto the stage and fall in the third chair the crowd responded with a big applause but I'm confused why what have I done to deserve it I try give effie a big hug I've known effie since my own games and when I distanced myself from everyone effie was always nearby she managed to shrug of my hug. The mayor introduced Effie trinket she trods up to the podium and giver her usual words "happy hunger games and may the odds be ever in your favour she keeps talking about how honoured she is to be here I stopped listen after a while until Effie exclaimed "it's time for the drawing" Same old same old "ladies first" she says trying to keep her voice even she puts her hand into the glass ball with the girls names and reaches in digs around and finally pulls out a slip of paper and calls out "primrose Everdeen"
