Here's the next chapter. Hope you enjoy :)

Dark Thundercat - That is quite an interesting perspective. I tried my best to capture Principle Nezu's character, but there isn't much detail of his backstory, likes, dislikes, etc. Even in the manga, as you said, Nezu isn't really a central character despite being an important figure. That's why I'm playing it safe and also not going into his character as I'm afraid I might get something wrong. Thank you for your views.

Blaze1992 - That is pretty good suggestion. Although I have to admit that Acidina is a bit difficult to say, especially if the speaker was in a rush. Anyway thank you.

Djinn - Hey again, glad you like the name. Yeah, I thought Lewis could start his club in the next semester since he would be quite busy with work studies, exams, training camp, getting attacked by the League of Villains...again. Hope you enjoy the next chapter. Thank you.

wellingtonlucas282 - Thanks so much, enjoy the next chapter.

Neo Infinity - Thank you, I'm so glad you liked it. I have been thinking of the name for a while now so I'm happy that I finally get to reveal it. The Ryuku agency would be great, but I have plans with Sir Nighteye especially in regards to his quirk. Thanks for pointing out the mistake. I usually don't see these mistakes so it's helpful for people to point them out so I can fix them.

Pa7adox - Thanks so much. Blink is also a good name but there's a Marvel hero also named that and I didn't want to copy that (Although, thinking about it, Cheshire is a name of a DC villain so what do I know -shrug-) The gadgets that you recommended would be a great opportunity for him to work closely with Momo. Thanks again.

Lelouch of Zero - I'm so glad that you liked the chapter. I was worried about Shoko's name, but I'm happy that it's alright. Character interactions are one of my favourite things to write, because they are challenging, but in a good way. Nejire was especially fun to write. Don't worry about Jiro, she'll get another chance soon. Thanks for reading.

TheKwertyOne - Well yes, live footage can stop Lewis from using his quirk. But surely that fact that he did manage to use his quirk proves that either A) the cameras were not directed at him or B) he was hidden from view. It may seem unlikely, but that's how the story goes. (I know that's quite a stupid explanation, but then again it's a fictional story). So it does make sense and I should know since I know the MC better than anyone in the world. I'm not saying it because I'm arrogant, but because I'm very certain that this is the case.

For ways my MC can use his quirk without a cape, please refer to Pa7adox's review. Thanks for reading.

Rowlets and Oshawotts - Thanks so much. I hope you enjoy the next chapter.

Guest - Thank you so much. Yeah, and I finally got to reveal his hero name (I've been sitting on that since chapter 1). Yep he's going to work with Nighteye. I hope you enjoy the next chapter.

alber1marti - Thanks so much. Writing OC stories are very challenging, but I enjoy doing them. And thanks for mentioning Edgar Cipher, that story doesn't get as much attention as much as the others so I'm really glad. In regards to Harry Potter story...well if you had asked me like five or six years ago I would have probably have said yes, but now the franchise is a little bit of a mess. Especially since J.K Rowling has kind of ruined her own work. However, if I try to ignore all of that and focus on the books themselves I could probably write a story. It's definitely something I will consider and you're right it does sound interesting. Thanks again.

Ezekiel Lacron - He sure does. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for reviewing, enjoy the next chapter :)

Chapter 19: Nighteye

Lewis' Residence

"You're doing really great. If you keep on working on your vocabulary and your accent, you'll be fluent in no time," Lewis happily told Pony as they stood up from the dining room table.

"Thanks- oh I mean -thank you so much, Lewis," Pony said as she picked up the workbooks she brought along.

It has been a few days since Aizawa told them about the Work Studies and the deadline to choose a hero agency was drawing near. In the meantime, Lewis thought it was best to tutor his blonde classmate as he promised. He had invited her over to his house so he could help her to learn, although in hindsight he probably shouldn't have invited her so close the 1B classroom. He didn't know what was worse; Tokage's teasing or Monoma's vicious badgering. Thankfully, Kendo had stepped much to his and Pony's relief.

Lewis didn't have to do much other then help out with some grammar and correct any mistakes as Pony was quite a fast learner. All she needed was a little guidance and support.

"No problem," he replied as he led her to the front door, "You can now show everybody how brilliant you are."

"And show up Monoma," Pony added, holding a fist up in determination.

"...Yes I suppose that as well," Lewis said with a small sweat drop.

As Pony was gathering the rest of her things, she looked up at Lewis with her big round eyes, "Have you chosen where you're going to do your Work Studies?"

Lewis shook his head, "No not yet. I'm still doing research on all of them. Have you chosen somewhere?"

"Sure did," Pony chirped, her little tail wagging happily, "I'll be working with a hero who will help me get better control on my horns. So far I can control only two at a time, but I'm hoping to increase that."

Pony's quirk was:

Horn Cannon: She is able to launch her horns as projectiles and control them remotely. A new set will grow back almost immediately.

"That's great. Well, I hope you'll enjoy your Work Study?" Lewis said as he opened the door for her.

"Thanks, you too," Pony said as she hugged Lewis' middle, causing him to once again lean his head back otherwise her horns would hit his face. She let go and gave him a wave as she stepped out the door, "see ya!"

Lewis waved back before shutting door after her and trying to fight down the blush on his face. Pony liked to hug people and although he did welcome it, she could have at least warn him first.

He teleported into his room and opened his laptop on his desk. He looked over his notes on various hero agencies to the side with critical look as the computer booted up, trying to decide where he should go. He had done at lot of research on all 203 hero agencies, seeing the heroes' info and history, what they specialise in, how their teaching can improve his quirk, and most importantly how can he contribute to the agency. Since they had kindly nominated him, despite the interview, he needed to show them that he was serious about his hero career and the best way of doing that is by helping them as much as he could with the quirk that he has.

So far there were two potential candidates that Lewis liked the best: The Dragoon Hero: Ryukyu Agency and the Sir Nighteye Hero Agency.

Ryukyu, her real name being Ryuko Tatsuma, was a pretty young woman with short blond hair, fair skin and yellow lizard-like eyes. Her hero costume consisted of a dark red qipao, knee high boots, long sleeved gloves and a green headband with four claws attached which covered the right side of her her face. Judging from interviews, public appearances and seeing her quirk in action online, Lewis could tell that was a kind and humble person and had a feeling that she could be a good teacher. Not only that but her quirk allows her to turn into a dragon, she's ranked 9th in the hero billboard, she can turn into a dragon, she is well liked by media and the public, she can turn into a dragon, she takes her hero career seriously, oh and did Lewis mention she can turn into a bloody dragon!

Dragon: Has the ability to transform into a large western dragon. This form grants her superhuman strength and durability, powerful jaws and claws, and wings which allow her to fly.

Lewis knew he shouldn't judge things based on quirks, but he had to admit that it sounded awesome.

On the other hand, there was the Nighteye Agency. Sir Nighteye, real name Mirai Sasaki, was a tall, thin man with green and yellow hair, fair skin and yellow eyes hidden behind triangular glasses. He always wore a grey suit and a red tie with white polka dot prints. Mirio was not joking about how serious he was. Every time he would give an interview, he would stare into the camera as if he was trying to intimidate the viewers. Lewis had to admit that he was quite scared of him and doubted his nervous nature would sit well with the man. His hero agency was smaller and less well known and his ratings in the Hero Billboard were far below that of the top ten. He wasn't able to find any information on his quirk, but he did find something else that was interesting. Sir Nighteye used to be All Might's sidekick years ago and Leiws wondered if he could contact Toshinori to find out more about him. Though after learning that they had a falling out he thought it was best not to disturb the Number 1 hero.

So, why did Lewis have him as one of his favourites? Despite admitting that the hero might not want to tolerate a bumbling person like him.

The answer is simple, really. People like Sir Nighteye and Aizawa don't do things unless its necessary. If Sir Nighteye nominated him then there was a good reason for why he wanted him. Plus (no offence to Ryuku) Sir Nighteye was the sort of no nonsense teacher that Lewis needed. Sure, the Dragon Hero and every other hero that nominated him were great, but he needed to be serious and get a better handle of his quirk. The only way of doing that was by working under Sir Nighteye.

Lewis noticed that the computer had booted up and started to look up more on Sir Nighteye before glancing down at his phone sitting on the desk next to his laptop. He picked it up, opened it, and looked at the messages, frowning sadly when he saw that Iida had not returned any of his texts.

Since the confrontation at the lockers, Lewis has not been successful at talking to his spectacled classmate. He has tried to apologise to him so many times, but he would just give him the cold soldier. Lewis sighed and placed the phone back down on th-

RING!

Lewis yelped in surprise and accidentally threw his phone into the air, only managing to catch it before it hit the floor. It checked the screen and saw that Shoko was calling him. He pressed the green button and placed the phone to his ear.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Fleetwood," the monotone voice of Todoroki greeted.

"Oh hello, Shoko. How are you?"

"Do you not have caller ID?" Shoko suddenly asked, confusing Lewis slightly.

"Err...yes."

"Then why did you sound surprised that it was me despite seeing my name on the caller ID?"

Lewis gulped, "Right, well I only got a mobile three years ago and the phone at home was old fashioned so I wasn't really raised on caller ID and I still haven't got over certain habits like saying 'hello' twice, but they're not the same...type of...'hello'. The first 'hello' is used in the traditional sense when answering the phone...well not traditional per se because before that 'hello' was used as term for when someone was surprised like 'oh hello!', so really the 'hello' used for answering the phone is not the traditional use but the sort of...reinvention, you see. While the second 'hello' is used in the casual greeting sense, but is not the same as the reinvented 'hello' but there some undertones of the traditional 'hello' in the second 'hello' and...now I've said the word 'hello' to many times and it sounds weird. Sorry, does that make any sense?"

"No," Shoko firmly said, "can I talk now?"

Lewis coughed uneasily, "Right. Sorry. Thank you for being patient. How can I help?"

Shoko sighed wearily, "I need...some advise. My father has nominated me for the Work Study," Lewis tried to hold back an annoyed hum at the mention of Endeavour, "and...I'm considering choosing it."

"I see," Lewis said, frowning in thought, "you think it will benefit your quirk if you study under him."

"Yes."

"But you don't want to study under him."

"Yes," she sighed, not liking the situation at all, "I do not want him to think that I wanted to study at his agency, but there no other agencies that I can learn from. I...I don't know what to do."

Lewis hummed sadly. He could tell from the tone of her voice that she was really conflicted about this and for good reason. He wanted nothing more then to tell her to snub her father and find another agency to go to, but he knew that he had to be honest with her.

"Well Shoko, I would usually say that if you don't want to something then you don't have to, but we're are talking about your hero career," Lewis told her.

"So you think I should accept," Shoko said, the disappointment noticeable in her voice.

"Yes, but you need to make sure that Endeavour knows you had to be there, not because you wanted to," Lewis advised, "Do simple things like always questioning his teachings, don't let him give you unnecessary errands, call him by his hero name and vis versa. If he keeps on calling you anything but you're hero name then complain to HR. He does have a HR department, right."

"I think so."

"Then use that to your advantage. You need to show him your independence and drill the notion into his thick, fiery head that you're using him. Can you do that?"

There was silence for a few seconds as Shoko considered his advise.

"I suppose so," she sighed, "I was hoping that you would tell me to snub him and go to another agency, but this works as well. Thank you, Fleetwood."

"No problem. Other then that, how are you?" he asked kindly.

He was confused when the silence at the other end for a few seconds before Shoko spoke again, "Why do you want to know?"

She didn't sound aggressive like the last times, just a little perplexed.

"I...am curious to how you are doing," he answered.

"Oh," she uttered, "I don't really know what to say."

Lewis smiled slightly, "Well, did anything happen to you today."

Another few seconds of silence.

"There was a bird outside my window earlier," she told him unsurely.

...

...

...

"Oh really," Lewis said, realising that it was the end of the sentence, "what species was it?"

"I don't know. It flew away before I could look," she told him hesitantly.

...

...

...

'She doesn't have a lot of experience with small talk, does she,' Lewis thought with a sweat drop, 'although I'm not quite sure what I was expecting.'

Lewis chuckled, "We don't have to continue talking if you don't wan-"

"No," she suddenly said, "I would like to...but I...I don't really...how was... your day?" she eventually asked.

'So adorable,' Lewis squealed in his mind, "Fine, thank you. I'm think I know where I'm going for my Work Study. It's an agency ran by a hero named Sir Nighteye."

"I see. I think I've heard of him. Have you spoken to Iida?" Lewis winced slightly at the question and Shoko must have realised her mistake, "sorry, I shouldn't have asked."

"I-It's fine, honestly," he told her, "so you've noticed, huh."

"Yes," she said, "he stopped talking to you when we became friends...I wasn't the cause was I?" she asked in worry.

"Oh no, no, no," Lewis immediately denied, "you did nothing. I just said some things that he disagreed with, that's all."

Shoko hummed in relief, "I see. Fleetwood...during the Work Study...can I call you again? I know I will get angry at...him and you're voice is comforting. I don't have to if you're going to be busy."

He noted the slight nervousness in her voice despite how monotonous it was. He blushed slightly when she said she found his voice comforting.

Lewis smiled happily, "Of course, you can. Or I can call you. Either way I love talking to you," he replied innocently.

He heard Shoko give a small gasp before she cleared her throat.

"That would be-"

The sounding of a door opening in the background made her stop mid sentence.

"Hey, Shoko have you- who are you talking to?" a male voice asked.

It sounded too young to be Endeavour's voice so it had to be Shoko's brother, Natsu.

"Don't enter my room without knocking," Shoko crossly scolded, "and who I am talking to is none of your business."

"What's going on?" the voice of Fuyumi asked curiously in the background, "Oh, are you talking to Fleetwood?"

"Fleetwood?" Natsu questioned in confusion and shock.

Fuyumi ignored her brother, "Tell him if he wants to come over for dinner sometime. Oh, ask him what his favourite food is?"

"Him?" Natsu inquired, "Wait, Shoko are you talking to a b-"

The call ended suddenly and Lewis placed it back on the desk. Natsu sounded quite angry about his sister talking to an unknown boy so he was relieved that it had ended before he was interrogated.

He sighed and found the form for the Work Study and filled out details for the Sir Nighteye agency. After he was done writing he looked back over his research for the Dragoon Hero, feeling a little bad for not choosing her.

'Perhaps I can send her an apology card,' Lewis thought.

Musutafu Main Station

A week later, Class 1A stood before their homeroom teacher in the waiting room, ready to travel to their chosen hero agencies. Luckily, the rush hour had died down by the time they had arrived so the station wasn't as packed and it allowed Aizawa to give his final notices to his class.

"Be sure to mind your manners," he droned, glaring at each individual student to make his point clear, "Wearing you hero costumes is prohibited and don't lose them either, you got that?"

"Yeah!" Mina cheered as she lifted her briefcase containing her costume in the air.

Aizawa sent her a sharp look, "It's 'Yes sir' and don't shout in public."

"Yes sir," Mina mumbled with a pout.

"Good, now get going," Aizawa told them, giving them permission to leave.

Lewis clutched the handle of his briefcase in his hand and looked up at the timetable. He noticed that his train won't depart for another forty five minutes and so he might as well talk to the others for a moment. He looked down again and saw some students are already walking off, one of them was Shoko who briefly looked at Lewis with a straight face. Lewis smiled at her and mouthed 'You can do it' at her. She nodded, feeling more confident before walking to her platform. Another person was Mina who waved at Lewis as she left.

"Bye Neko chan! Good luck with your work study!" she shouted, making Lewis smile.

He waved back and was about to reply when Aizawa got there before him.

"Ashido, what did I say about shouting in public," he scolded, his eyes turning red slightly.

Mina yelped in fright, gave Lewis another wave before taking her leave once again. Lewis chuckled before he noticed Momo walking up to him with a pleasant smile on her face.

"Fleetwood," she greeted, "I wish you luck at you hero agency," she told him with a bow of her head.

"You too. Is your train not leaving for a while?" he asked.

She became slightly sheepish, "I-I'm not quite sure. I never really been to a train station...or used a train before," she admitted nervously.

'Never been on a train? How rich is she!?' Lewis thought in astonishment, "Well, if you look at the timetable and find your destination, next to your destination is the time the train is departing and the platform," he explained, making her look towards the board above their heads.

She softly gasped, her cheeks turning red slightly, "Oh I see, it will depart in twenty minutes. How fascinating," she told herself as Lewis gave her an odd look.

"What agency are you going to?" Lewis asked, drawing Momo's attention back to him.

"I'm going to the Snake Hero: Uwabami," she answered surprising Lewis, "She was gracious enough to nominate me so she must have seen my potential at the Sports Festival. She will teach me everything I need to do to become a hero," she declared.

Lewis was not as convinced. He too was nominated by Uwabami and therefore did some research on the heroine and what he found out was that she was more of a celebrity. She was a glamourous woman with long blond hair, fair skin, and yellow eyes. Her hero costume was a purple dress and purple high heels and the most distinctive part of her was the three live snakes at the end of her hair. She wears them over her head similar to the ancient Greek monster, the gorgon. Lewis was sure she was a very good hero, but he had seen her in more adverts then doing actual hero work. He was worried that Momo was restricting her progress by doing her Work Study with her, but then it was her decision and he should respect that.

"Oh...right," Lewis uttered, "well, I hope you have a good time there."

"Thank you," she said gratefully before she looked around with a small frown, "Oh did Iida leave already? I was hoping to wish him luck for his trip to Hosu."

Lewis looked around as well, "I think he di- wait how do you know where he's going?" he asked, earning a confused look from Momo.

"Didn't he tell you? I thought he told both his vice reps," she said.

Lewis sighed in despair, "No, he...only just told you."

Momo coughed uncomfortably, "It must have slipped his mind," she suggested before picking up her briefcase, "I must get going. Please call me if you anything."

"I will thank you."

She was about to leave before she stopped and turned to back to him, "What is the proper etiquette of traveling by train?"

Lewis blinked in surprise, "Err...get on the train, find a seat, wait till you arrive and then get off it," he told him, making her eyes sparkle in wonder.

"Fascinating," she uttered in awe, making Lewis frown in concern.

'Will she'll be alright?'

She soon walked away while she marvelled the wonders of a train station. Lewis noted the positive aura surrounding her and found it kind of cute. His attention was drawn away when he noticed Midoryia and Fumikage walk up to him and guessed that their trains won't leave for a while as well.

"Hey Fleetwood," Midoryia greeted happily as Fumikage nodded.

"Hey guys," he greeted back before turning to Fumikage, "how's Dark Shadow?"

"Fleetwood," Dark Shadow chirped as he appeared from Fumikage's navel, "Long time, no see."

"Dark Shadow," Fumikage growled, grabbing onto the shadow bird's head and trying to push him down, "You cannot reveal yourself in public."

Dark Shadow whined, "But I want to meet my best friend," he complained.

Midoryia and Lewis smiled in amusement as they watched their bird headed friend argue with his own quirk before they turned to each other.

"So what agency are you going to," Midoryia eagerly asked him.

"Sir Nigh-"

He barely finished his sentence before Midoryia gasped in excitement, "No way, your going to do your Work Study with All Might's former sidekick."

"You know who he is?" he asked before frowning when he realised who he was talking to, "Sorry, that's a stupid question. Of course, you know who he is."

Midoryia nodded rapidly, "I sure do. He's one of the very few people to work for All Might. Although, I'm not quite sure why their partnership ended," he mused, "anyway I'm going to see Gran Torino," he told him.

"Gran Torino," Lewis repeated, "I don't think I know him. Is he well known?"

"Well...not really," Midoryia answered sheepishly, "he was a late nomination and All Might seems to know him and-"

"Fumikage," Lewis suddenly interrupted, "Where are you doing your Work Studies?"

Midoryia was briefly confused why he cut him off when he realised that there was another person in their group...and he was about to blab about his relationship to All Might.

'Thank you Fleetwood,' Midoryia internally cried.

Fumikage, who had just got control over Dark Shadow, cleared his throat, "I'm going to Hawks' hero agency," he told them, making their eyes widen in shock.

"No way, the Number Three hero," Midoryia gasped.

"That's incredible, Fumikage," Lewis uttered.

The Wing Hero: Hawks, real name Keigo Takami, is a hero known for his quick villain captures. He was a slim man with feathery ash blond hair, fair skin and golden eyes (A.N: A lot of yellow eyed people in this chapter, huh). The most distinguishing feature was his large red wings that sprout out of his back. His hero costume consists of a tan, high collar jacket over a black shirt and baggy trousers that were also tan and yellow tinted visor over his eyes. Despite being only 21, Hawks is one of the most popular heroes in Japan which is quite incredible if you consider that fact that All Might and Endeavour have been doing it way longer.

"That's so cool, Fumikage," Midoryia said, thinking if it was appropriate to ask him if he could get Hawks' autograph.

Fumikage hummed and nodded, "I am thankful for his nomination. I will use his teachings to prepare for my glorious purpose," he darkly said.

"Yeah!" Dark Shadow cried, surprising the three of them, "we'll show him what we're made of!"

"Dark Shadow," Fumikage hissed angrily.

Lewis chuckled, "Hey Dark Shadow, you might get Fumikage in trouble, so if you go back to…where we you usually stay we can hang out after the Work Studies, he proposed.

Dark Shadow nodded his head rapidly, "Sure thing, buddy."

He then went back into Fumikage naval much to the bird-bearded teen's relief.

"Please…teach me how you do that," Fumikage asked Lewis in despair.

'Huh, so Fleetwood is good with cats and birds,' Midoryia mused.

Sir Nighteye Agency

It took an hour to get to there.

He had accidentally walked past it as it just looked like a normal five storey building on a street corner. The only indication that it was a hero agency was a plaque next to the door. He looked up at the building once again, checked the slip of paper showing the address for the umpteenth time, and took a deep a breath.

'Here I g-'

"Hey!"

"Ah!" Lewis yelped as a hand clamped onto his shoulder.

He turned around and saw Mirio wearing his school uniform, smiling in amusement at his reaction.

"Ha! Sorry, about that Fleetwood. Didn't mean to scare you like that," he said as he rubbed the back of his head, "so you decided to come here, that's awesome."

Lewis recovered from the shock and cleared his throat "Y-yeah. I wasn't expecting to see you so soon."

"I thought I'll meet you here on your first day," he told with a bright smile, "you know, show you the ropes and everything. I know you're going to love working here."

He opened the front door for Lewis and invited him into the building, "I think I will," Lewis said, "It was either here or the Ryukyu agency."

"Ah man, Nejire is going to be upset that your not going to work there," he told him, making Lewis eyes widen in panic.

"Oh no, I didn't mean to-"

Mirio waved his hand dismissively, "Don't worry. There's a chance that she's completely forgotten about you."

"...oh," Lewis uttered in despair. Somehow that was worse then upsetting her.

They stepped into the rather plain foyer with a staircase leading up to higher levels to his left and a reception desk at the far end of the room. Behind the desk, leaning over some paperwork, was a man wearing a black tuxedo and pair of white gloves. Lewis at first thought he was wearing a really thick black scarf, but he soon realised that it was actually part of his centipede-like head.

He looked up when he the door opened and Mirio waved to him.

"Hey Centipeder," he called as he pushed Lewis towards the desk, "how are you?"

"I am very well, thank you," Centipeder replied, his voice was much squeakier than Lewis was expecting.

Mirio patted his shoulder, "I've got our newest recruit right here. Centipeder meet Fleetwood. Fleetwood meet Centipeder, Sir's sidekick."

Centipeder stood up, easily towering over the two, and bowed his head to Lewis, "A pleasure to meet you, mister Fleetwood. Welcome to the Sir Nighteye Agency."

"It's a pleasure to meet you too," Lewis replied with a small bow, "thank you for the nomination."

Centipeder pressed the button of an intercom on his desk, "Bubble Girl, the nominee has arrived."

"Right," a female voice chirped from the intercom, "I'll be down in a moment."

Centipeder turned his beady insect eyes up to Lewis, "I mean no offence, but we were honestly surprised that Sir Nighteye has sent out a nomination. We're quite a small agency and we usually don't have the time for Work Study students."

Lewis hummed curiously, "Does that mean Sir Nighteye nominated me for a particular reason?"

"I'm sorry but you would have to ask him that," Centipeder told him, "however I'm sure you have nothing to worry about."

"Right, perhaps he saw potential in you at the Sports Festival," Mirio cheerfully suggested, "or maybe you made him laugh when you dressed up as cheerleader."

"Why do you keep bringing that up?" Lewis muttered.

They turned when they heard footsteps coming down the staircase and saw that Sir Nighteye's other sidekick, Bubble Girl, had arrived. She was a young woman in her early twenties with a slim build, light blue skin, short dark blue hair and yellow eyes (A.N: Again another character with yellow eyes!). Her hero costume consists of a skintight crop top which exposed her torso and...other parts. As well as pair of black tights under loose white shorts and thick white boots. She also wore a clear visor over her face which Lewis guessed acted like a gas mask.

She smiled and waved as she came over, although Lewis was too busy trying not to stare at her to see it.

"Hi, you must be Fleetwood," she greeted happily, "welcome to the agency."

"It's a blesure -I mean a pleasure to meet you," Lewis stammered anxiously, making sure to maintain eye contact with her.

"He's a bit nervous," Mirio told her, making her chuckle slightly.

"Aw don't worry, he may look scary during interviews, but in real life he isn't that bad," Bubble Girl reassured with a wink.

"R-really?" Lewis questioned with a hopeful look.

"No, if anything he's even scarier in real life," she said, grinning in amusement as she saw his smile drop, "if you like to follow me," she said turning back towards the stairs.

Lewis hummed nervously as he followed Bubble Girl, casting a look back at Mirio who smiled brightly at him.

"You've got this Fleetwood," he happily cheered.

Lewis felt a bit more confident from his encouragement and walked up the stairs.

As they climbed the stairs, Bubble Girl noticed that he was still very anxious and thought he needed some help calming down.

"So, I saw you on T.V at Sports Festival," Bubble Girl started, "I was working so I missed the first part, but after Sir told me he was doing a nomination I took a break and watched the final matches. You were great, I was totally rooting for you."

Lewis blushed softly, "Thanks, I'm really glad...you didn't happen to see..."

"You dressed like a cheerleader?" Bubble Girl finished with a giggle, "It was the first thing I saw as soon as I turned the T.V on. It really suited you."

"Yeah, people keep saying that," Lewis sighed, making her giggle again.

Once they reached the top floor, Bubble Girl looked up at him with a serious expression as she led him down a corridor.

"Alright a few things you need to know," she told him, "make sure your straight to the point when your talking to him and try not to stutter, he likes when people speak with vigour and humour, try not to stare into his eyes and most importantly do not make fun of All Might, you think you got that?"

"The first two points will be impossible for me, I can probably do the third one and I have no intention on doing the last one," Lewis answered as they stopped outside an office door.

Bubble Girl shrugged, "Good enough I suppose," she said before giving him a coy look, "oh and well done for not staring at my boobs, by the way."

Lewis face lit up in embarrassment and before he could stutter a reply, she knocked on the office door.

"Enter," a stoic voice called out from within the office.

"Good luck," Bubble Girl whispered to the still red-faced Lewis before she walked away with a teasing giggle.

Lewis gulped and fanned his face with his hand to fight off the blush before he opened the door and entered the room. Sir Nighteye's office was just as plain as the rest of the building. Lewis would have at least put a few potted plants to contrast the grey desks and brown chairs. Ever the colours of the books on the shelves seemed muted and dull. The only colourful things in the office were the All Might memorabilia like the posters on the wall and the life-size cardboard cut out. On the far side of the room, standing behind his desk with his back facing to Lewis, was Sir Nighteye. He was looking over some papers he had in a file and didn't look up when Lewis entered.

"Sit down, quickly," Nighteye suddenly demanded, causing him to jump in surprise.

He softly closed the door behind him and fast walked over to the chair before his desk and sat down wordlessly. As he set his briefcase down, he glanced at a weird contraption to the wall on his right. It reminded Lewis of the medieval rack as there were two manacles that restrained somebody's arms, but what was really odd were the feathers attached to sticks on either side of the machine. The name, written on the top of the machine, read 'Tickle Hell' which gave a clue as to what it did. Lewis gulped when he saw it, but the sudden thump of a folder closing made him snap back towards Nighteye.

"Good day, mister Fleetwood," Nighteye said in an even tone as he placed the folder back on a book shelf, "thank you for choosing to do your Work Study at my agency."

"I-I should really be thanking you, Sir Nighteye," Lewis stammered as the man turned towards him and stared at him through his glasses, "It's a great honour working with such a great hero."

Nighteye sat down in his chair, "Flattery will get you nowhere, Fleetwood," he coldly said, causing Lewis to flinch slightly.

He opened a desk drawer and took out a red folder and placed it on the desk in front of him. He opened it up and Lewis saw a report with a photo of him attached to it.

'It must be the report Aizawa sent out to our Work Study employers,' Lewis thought, as Nighteye gazed over the report.

"Tell me, did you find the building alright. I have been told that it blends in with the background."

Lewis gave him a nervous smile.

"Well, yes...eventually. I accidently walked past it the first time," he told him, hoping he would get a laugh from the serious man.

"So despite having been given an address and there being a plaque outside my office, you still managed to walk past it. In your report, you said you were observant. Was that a lie or are you just unable to read, mister Fleetwood?" he questioned, making Lewis flinch once again.

"Well...I...err..."

Nighteye raised an eyebrow, "Since you are unable to answer one question, why don't you tell me about your quirk. How it works. It's uses. It's limitations and try to be quick about it," he demanded.

Lewis began to tell him all about his quirk. How he could teleport to anywhere he has been or seen as well as transport handheld objects and create portals in enclosed places. However, he did have to tell him that he could only do it when he's not seen and that if he uses it too many times in a short space of time he would become slightly insane. Nighteye didn't comment on anything he said, but stared at him until he was done talking. This, of course, did nothing to calm his nerves.

"...and that's...basically it," Lewis ended awkwardly, he was not doing well in this interview.

"I see," Nighteye sighed before he opened a drawer in his desk and took something out.

He held his hand out as if he was going to give something to Lewis and the teen hesitantly held his hand out. Nighteye dropped notes six ¥ 10,000 notes and one ¥5,000 note into his outstretched hand before placing his hand back on the desk. Lewis looked down at the money in his hand in confusion.

"What's this for?" Lewis asked in puzzlement.

"Your train fare," Nighteye answered.

Lewis blinked in surprise, "The fare here was covered by U.A, Sir."

"Not for the journey here, but for the journey back."

"You don't mean-"

"I want you to leave my office immediately," he coldly informed, "I have wasted your time by nominating you and you have wasted my time with this interview. Therefore the least I can do is pay for your ticket back to U.A. Please leave immediately, I have other important matters to intend to," he briskly told him, ignoring Lewis' shocked expression and retrieving a file from the bookshelf behind him.

Outside Sir Nighteye's Office

Mirio, Bubble Girl, and Centipeder had their ears firmly pressed to their boss' office door, trying to listen in on what was going on. They all winced when they heard Nighteye tell him to leave.

"Oh dear," Centipeder muttered.

"It's not looking good for him," Mirio added as quietly as possible.

Bubble Girl nodded sadly, "Poor kid"

Inside Sir Nighteye's Office

Lewis was trying hard to say something.

Anything.

But the words were caught in his mouth.

It was safe to say that he wasn't expecting this, especially since it's barely been ten minutes. Lewis wasn't even sure the pro hero could just dismiss his nomination just like that. Would he need to call Aizawa that he messed up just by telling him his quirk. He finally found his voice and focused back at Nighteye who was looking over the paper in the file once again.

"Can I ask why you're rejecting my nomination?"

Nighteye peered over his glasses, "I have misjudged your quirk. I'm afraid that this agency has no need for it and you would only become a hinderance to our organisation. Putting it simply, we do not have the time nor the resources to accept someone who barely contributes to both this agency or society in general,"

"That's quirk discrimination," Lewis pointed out crossly.

"It maybe so" Nighteye replied, "but since you are not looking for employment and I never signed any legal forms that said I have to follow guidelines, I'm free to reject any nominations I deem unworthy."

"You still can't do that," Lewis argued, "U.A will never accept that valid reason."

"Then I suppose I have to provide another reason," he leaned forwards in his chair, easily towering over him, "Since you have entered this room, you have been unable to meet the interviewer's standards, unable to form coherent sentence without stammering and unable to answer questions when asked. How do you think you're able to work as part of a team if you lack the skills capable for communication."

"But-"

"I'm sorry Mister Fleetwood, but without proper communication an agency is doomed to fail. If you work with us than you're putting us at risk of being tied up in legal cases or being shut down."

Lewis frowned in irritation, "But surely my report from my homeroom teacher mentions my communication skills. For goodness' sake, I led a team during the Sports Festival. Surely, it proves that I'm capable when I need to be."

"Being capable sometimes is not good enough," Nighteye told him, "and I can only assume that you surround yourself with people just as or more incompetent than you. Now please leave. I'll contact your school of the circumstances as you travel back. Good day, mister Fleetwood."

And with that, Nighteye looked down at his file again, paying little interest to the fuming Lewis. The teen stood up, grabbed his briefcase and stormed to the door, to angry to say goodbye. He was about to reach for the door handle when he stopped and thought for a moment.

'No. This can't happen. There has to be something else I'm missing,' he thought intensely.

Nighteye was looking over a paragraph when Lewis' hand slammed over it. He frowned angrily but saw that when Lewis lifted his hand back, a ¥100 note was in its place. Anger turned into confusion as the older man gave Lewis a questioning look.

"What is this for?" he dryly asked.

"The train was ¥6400. You overplayed me by ¥100," Lewis told him with stern look, "also, I'm not going anywhere."

Nighteye's eyebrows furrowed as Lewis took his seat and met his intense glare.

"I already told you-"

"Yeah, I don't care," Lewis cut him off, "and I'll explain why I don't care right after I tell you something. Don't ever insult my friends ever again."

Nighteye raised an eyebrow, "After everything I said, me insulting your friends was what made you angry."

"You're not the first person to tell me I can't do something and you won't be the last," Lewis shrugged, "but I do take offence when people judge others when they're not here to defend themselves. All my classmates are capable of greatness in the future. They are brave, intelligent and powerful in their own different ways. Even in areas they lack skill in, they can learn and overcome their weakness and I trust them with my life. There isn't a single person in my class that I'll call incompetent ever-

Lewis' phone rang in his pocket, making him stop his speech suddenly. He took out his phone and, despite the fact he was scolding him, gave Nighteye an apologetic look.

"Answer it," Nighteye sighed with a wave of his hand, "just make it quick."

"Right, thank you," Lewis said as he accepted the call, "Hel-"

"FLEETWOOD, HE'S DEAD! THERE'S A DEAD PERSON! THERE'S BLOOD EVERYWHERE!"

Lewis almost dropped his phone when the panicked cries of Midoriya came through the phone. He gave a irritated Nighteye a sheepish smile before going back to his phone.

"Midoriya calm down. What are you talking about?" Lewis said, trying to calm his friend down.

"GRAN TORINO! I-I-I WALKED INTO HIS HOUSE AND HE'S LYING IN A POOL OF BLOOD!" Midoriya explained whilst still yelling hysterically.

"...and the first thing you did was call me?" Lewis questioned.

"I'M ALIVE!" another voice called out in the background and Lewis had to hold the phone away from his ear as Midoriya screamed in fright and then the call cut off.

Lewis gave the phone an odd look before looking back at Nighteye who stared at him with a raised eyebrow. Lewis cleared his throat.

"I really set myself up for that, didn't I," Lewis said with a sigh.

Much to his shock, the end of Nighteye's lips lifted a little into a small smile and he gave a small chuckle. It didn't last for very long, but Lewis had managed to make him laugh.

"Err...where was I?"

"I believe you were saying how capable your friends were, but don't bother. I apologise," Nighteye said, "I shouldn't have insulted your classmates."

"R-right," Lewis uttered, not expecting an apology at all, "And the reason why I'm staying here is because you need me."

Nighteye stare grew more intense, but Lewis was not backing down now.

"And how did you come to that conclusion?"

"It's like you said, you can't afford money or time on any nominee so why bother requesting for one. Centipeder mentioned that I was the first Work Study student this agency has ever had so why me in particular. Also I'm fairly sure my quirk is described in the report mister Aizawa sent over so surely you would have known the limitations before I even arrived. All of this suggest that there is something about me you need, particular something about my quirk. But the question is...what?" Lewis paused for a moment, trying to think of what it could be, "My first public appearance was during the Sports Festival so that narrows it down to one day. Bubble Girl said that you requested the form from her and then she started working a little while later. This means that the terminus post quem of you deciding to nominate me was before I was Cheer-wood," Nighteye gave Lewis a strange look when he said that, "The event I was participating in around that time was the cavalry battle, but what did I..." Lewis paused in realisation, "...you saw my hand disappear."

Nighteye hummed and Lewis took that it a sign that he deducted correctly.

He leaned forwards in his chair, "Sir, I know I have made a bad first impression, but I must know what happened. I haven't been able to do it since no matter how many times I tried, but with your support I can figure it out and show you how useful I am," he said almost begging.

Nighteye maintained his piecing stare while Lewis looked at him with pleading eyes. A tense few moments past and Nighteye broke the stare and sighed.

"I have a theory," he said as he leaned his elbows on his desk, "Yes, I did witness your hand disappearing but it was different to how you describe it."

"Different?"

"Indeed, instead of completely vanishing, it became transparent and faded into nothingness. It was more eventual than sudden. After looking into more about your quirk, I had a thought, what if teleportation was only half of what your quirk really is?" he said, much to Lewis' surprise, "I believe that your quirk allows you to convert atoms into other atoms. When you teleport you convert the atoms in your body, clothes and other objects you have on you into atoms in the air, but because you're a living being your consciousness would have to go somewhere else. Rather like how energy can't be created or destroyed. This is where your Frontal Lobe comes in. It mentions in the report that your brain is able to absorb a lot more information than the average person."

Lewis nodded, "I inherited it from my mother. I am nowhere near as good as her, though."

"It doesn't matter. Your Frontal Lobe won't allow your physical body or your consciousness to become nothing, so it displaces them to another area where you can convert air atoms into your atoms. It knows where's its going because it holds the knowledge of when you were there the last time. This explains why you are only able to transport to places you have already seen. It's because your Frontal Lobe remembers them. To put it simply, your quirk acts like an email or an image on a television. It breaks the information up into easily transportable pieces, sends that information to a receiver and builds it up again."

Lewis leaned back in his chair, frowning as he considered what Nighteye has told him. It was quite a lot to take in considering for the entirety of his life he thought it was just a rubbish transportation quirk. However, it doesn't explain how he can't be seen to activate it or what Nighteye is planning.

"Okay, that's...something to dwell on more later, but what does that have to do with my hand disappearing?"

Nighteye hummed, "Has Mirio told you his quirk yet?"

"No, How do you know I know Mirio?" Lewis questioned curiously.

"I heard him all the way from up here," he answered, making Lewis smile in amusement.

They both heard a thump on the office door followed by hush sounds outside. They stared quizzingly at the door for a few moments before going back to their discussion.

"Mirio's quirk is called Permeation, it allows him to phase through solid objects. However, he also risks phasing through everything if he's not careful enough. Whilst he has been interning at my agency, he has learned to remedy this. Say if he wanted to phase through a wall, he would have to activate everything but on leg, then, once his other leg has passed though to the other side, he would deactivate that leg and then activate the remaining to completely phase through. I believe we can apply that logic to your quirk. You have been treating your quirk like an on/off switch, always jumping from place to another and barely letting your Frontal Lobe process it. But if you slowed down and treated your quirk like a dimmer switch, your Frontal Lobe can adapt much faster and probably expand on where it could go. Like somewhere you have never been before."

Lewis' eyes widened in shock. This changes everything. How has it not realised it by now? Can he even slow down the disappearing process? Is that what happened to his hand?

"I-I don't know what to say," Lewis stuttered in awe, "this is a lot to take in."

"I can only imagine," Nighteye said, "You are correct, mister Fleetwood. I do need you at this agency."

He opened up the file he already had on his desk and took out a piece of paper and placed it front of Lewis. He inspected and saw it was a rough drawing of the inside of a warehouse. There were wooden crates, forklift trucks and other things, but there wasn't anything specific.

"A few weeks ago, my agency have identified a gang that has been working in the local area. We have been able to track them down to there warehouse, but we lack substantial evidence to get a search warrant from the judge. They have been very organised in clearing up after themselves, we're not even sure what activity they are doing. It could be one of the member's quirk. However, I was able to use my own quirk to get an idea of the interior of the warehouse looked like, but as you can see I was only able to present a rough image. This is where you come in."

"Oh I see, so you want me to use my quirk and infiltrate the warehouse and see what they're doing...that's really cool," Lewis said, "But I need more information than this. I could get injured by attempting this."

"That is why we need to train your quirk. The only reason you are able to go to places you already been to is because your Frontal Lobe knows them. However, if we were to train you like Mirio has done and slow down the process, there's less chance of injury since your Frontal Lobe has longer to process it," Nighteye explained, "by working here, you provide us with valuable help and in exchange we help you develop your quirk. How does that sound."

Lewis sighed in relief, "So, you really did mean to nominate me," he said, overjoyed that he didn't have to leave.

"Of course. Forgive me for the harsh treatment I put you through. The report also mentioned your intolerance to bullying and I wanted to see it for myself. Call it a rational deception."

'Good grief,' Lewis muttered in exasperation, 'just what I needed, another Aizawa'.

"It's fine," Lewis told, "I'm just glad that you have given me this opportunity Sir. I won't let you down."

Nighteye hummed happily at his enthusiasm, "I'm sure you won't. Of course, there are other things you are going to do. Bubble Girl will evaluate your combat skills and you will join her on patrols around the area, Centipeder will show you the administration side of her agency and Mirio will help you with your quirk before we initiate the plan," he looked up at at his door, "since you apparently have nothing better to do then eavesdrop, I will assume that I won't need to repeat myself," he called out.

His three employers yelped at being caught from behind the door. Bubble Girl opened the door to reveal their sheepish expressions.

"Sir, yes, Sir," they called back like soldiers,

"Louder. With meaning."

"SIR, YES SIR!"

"Good, now get back to work," Nighteye demanded.

Lewis chuckled as they scampered away before turning back to Nighteye, "I'm going to love working here," he told him.

Nighteye nodded, "I'm glad to hear that. Since you are not going home anytime soon, may I have my money back," Nighteye requested.

Lewis grinned before showing him the banknotes in his left hand. He closed his hand around them for a few seconds before opening it to reveal that the money has gone.

"What money?" he asked innocently.

...

...

...

...

Nighteye chuckled, "I suppose I deserve that."

Outside The Agency

Lewis (or Cheshire), now dressed in his new hero suit, patrolled the streets with Bubble Girl. It felt unusual to be wearing his costume outside of U.A for the first time and the looks he received from the public wasn't helping. Bubble Girl reassured him that it was because that the reason they were looking was because they were heroes not because he looked weird. It was worst for more famous heroes as they couldn't take a single step without people flocking around them for an autograph. Cheshire tried to persuade the other hero that he'll feel more calmer if he walked on the top of the buildings and so he'll get a better view of the street, but Bubble Girl was weary of the idea, especially on his first patrolling. Luckily, he had his mask and goggles on to hide his face from the stares.

"So that's basically it," Bubble Girl told Cheshire as they were going back to the agency, "Sorry kid, if it was kinda boring, but it's important to keep your eyes peeled and to remain..."

She trailed off when she noticed that the teen was no longer by her side. She looked around in confusion before seeing Cheshire a few meters behind her, kneeling down to pet a stray cat on the side on the pavement.

"...focused," she sighed as she rolled her eyes.

Cheshire was too caught up stroking the ginger cat's head until a shadow fell over him.

"Ahem."

He looked up at Bubble Girl's stern expression, stood up and sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. The cat running down an alleyway, much to Cheshire's disappointment.

"Sorry, I got distracted," he apologised.

"I see that," she sighed as they continued their way to the agency, "anyway, once we get back, I want to see how well you are at hand to hand combat."

Cheshire frowned in concern, "Oh, just to let you know I'm not...the biggest admirer of...sparring," he admitted.

"That's a shame," Bubble Girl smirked, "because I love to spar and since Sir has put me in charge of you, you had to do what I say," she teased as they entered the agency.

She led him up the stairs and into a room which had a sign saying 'Dojo' hanging on the door. It was a spacious room with polished wooden floorboards and some sparring dummies over at the far wall. They walked over to the centre of the room and faced each other. Bubble Girl looked pretty eager to start the spar while Cheshire less so.

"Alright," Bubble Girl said, getting into a battle stance, "your report says you have had training so show me what you got."

"I...don't usually go for front attacks," Cheshire admitted shyly.

"Why not?"

"Because you'll totally going to beat me if I did."

Bubble Girl laughed, "What makes you think that?"

"Well, you know that action movie cliché where there's a misogynistic male who thinks that he could beat a woman in a fight because she's just a woman and he then loses that fight by that same woman," Cheshire said.

Bubble Girl raised an eyebrow, "Yeah."

"Well I'm not a misogynist nor do I think I can take you on in a fight," he explained.

Bubble Girl rolled her eyes, "Sure you can. I'm sure a big guy like you can easily overpower me."

Cheshire wore a deadpanned expression, "That's exactly what somebody who has been training their whole lives to take down bigger opponents would say."

"Damn it, you got me there," Bubble Girl admitted as she closed her eyes, "how do you fight the-ah!"

Bubble Girl's legs were swept out from under her and she landed on the floor roughly on her side. She gritted her teeth in pain before looking up at Cheshire who had used his quirk to get behind her. She didn't have to see his face to know that he was grinning in amusement.

"Sneak attacks, mainly," he told her.

Bubble Girl gave him a competitive smile, "Not bad, kid. However, you forgot something."

Cheshire raised his eyebrows in confusion, "What did-ah!"

He cried as she kicked his legs out from under him, making him fall onto his back painfully. Cheshire groaned in agony as Bubble Girl got to her feet and stood over him with a groan smile.

"The action movie cliché where a person thinks they defeated the opponent so they let their guard down," she told him, offering her hand so she could help him up.

"Strangely enough, that cliché has slipped my mind," Cheshire admitted, taking her hand.

Storage Room

Cheshire groaned from all the bruises he has sustained from sparring with Bubble Girl. As he predicted, she was a very skilled fighter, but Cheshire had managed to win some fights and she was impressed. However, it just meant that she doesn't have to hold back on him.

He was now with Centipeder in the storage room, standing to next to tall metal filing cabinets. The storage room was possibly the biggest room in the agency with several rows of filing cabinets and shelves holding card boxes just above them. Cheshire, however, noticed they layer of dust on the cabinets and reckoned that a room so big was hard to keep clean with a limited amount of staff.

Centipedes was now showing the administrative side to hero agencies and Cheshire welcomed the change in pace. After he shown him the filing system, Centipeder gave the nominee a sympathetic look as he rubbed his aching shoulders.

"My apologies, Master Cheshire. My colleague hasn't had a sparring partner in a while and she has been eager to practice," Centipeder said, looking down at him.

Cheshire, who had taken off his mask and goggles, gave the pro-hero a reassuring smile, "It's fine. She could have least told me she knew judo," he winced as he felt another pang of pain in his back, "although I guess she did show me in a way."

Centipeder nodded his insect head in understanding, "Well Master Cheshire, I have shown you how we file everything. My apologies again, it wasn't particularly interesting and for the state of our storage room," taking out a handkerchief from his pocket and wiping some dust away, "as you can probably guess, I don't have a lot of time to clean. However not to worry, what I would like you to do is file away the paperwork on their proper place."

He gestured a glove hand to a wooden desk by the door and the four giant piles of papers and folders on top of it. Cheshire had to admit that it looked rather intimidating.

"This is probably what you weren't expecting working at a hero agency, but it needs to be done," Centipeder told him.

"I actually think I'm going to enjoy it," Lewis said as he took off his hat and placed on the desk, "If the hero career didn't work out, I wanted to work in a library. I was always in the library when I was in primary school, reading encyclopaedias and trying to avoid the bullies," he sighed, "sorry that sounded depressing."

"Not at all," Centipeder reassured, "I too spent my lunch breaks in the school library. Children can be cruel sometimes," he sighed.

Lewis nodded in empathy.

"Now then, I leave you to it. Don't worry if you can't manage it all. I myself spend an hour or two to complete the task. I shall be outside, do please call me if you any assistance," he told Cheshire as he opened the door.

"Will do," Cheshire said before he left and closed the door behind him.

The hero in training look towards the stacks of paper, picked up the first folder and got to work.

10 Minutes later

Centipeder, holding another large stack of paper in his left hand, opened the door and stepped into the storage room.

"I unfortunately have another-"

He stopped suddenly in shock when he saw that ever last piece of paper was gone while Cheshire was in the middle of cleaning a storage unit with a rag. Centipeder frowned in confusion as he set the paper stack on the desk and looked around the room.

"Hello Centipeder, do those need to be filed away as well?" Cheshire asked as he stopped cleaning and made his way over.

"W-where are all the papers?" Centipedes asked.

"I filed them."

"All of them?"

"Yes," Cheshire answered innocently,

"But how?" the hero asked. He didn't think he was lying, but he was finding it hard to believe that he managed to an hour's job in ten minutes.

"Like this," Cheshire said, picking up a paper from the stack Centipeder set down and making it disappear with a flick of his hand, "I hope you don't mind, but since we are not in a public area I thought I could use my quirk. I only have to memorise where everything needed to go and I will teleport it here," he explained much to Cenipeder's amazement, "now that I have time on my hands I decided to clean up a bit and make...Cenipeder are you crying?"

The pro hero wiped away a tear, "It's just so efficient."

Hotel Room

Lewis flopped onto the hotel bed in exhaustion.

Safe to say, it had been a long day for Lewis. Thinking that Nighteye had rejected his nomination, being thrown around by Bubble Girl, filing and organising the storage room, and finally, at the end of the day, training his quirk with Mirio.

He couldn't say he was surprised that he wasn't unable to slow down his quirk, he was too use to disappearing from place to place that it was hard to break the habit. Mirio was very patient and supportive with him. He taught him to clear his mind and focus on his quirk, but no matter what he couldn't.

The agency had to close for the night and Mirio had to back to Musatafu. Since the agency doesn't have accommodation, Nighteye had booked him a hotel room for the week. Lewis was pleased that the pro hero was more civil with him after everything that happened, although he was still very intimidated by the man.

Lewis sighed and looked at his phone. He received a text from Midoriya saying sorry for earlier and another from Mina asking how his first day was. He replied to their messages before sending a message to Shoko. She hadn't sent him a message so he assumed that everything was alright, but he wanted to check in on her.

He sent the message and dropped the phone on the bed beside him.

'Converting my atoms, huh,' Lewis thought as he raised his hand above his face, 'What was I doing when my hand disappeared? Monoma had stolen our bandannas and I just pictured the back of his head. Maybe I can...'

He sat up in bed and tucked his legs underneath him in a lotus position. He closed his eyes and pictured his living room in his house back at Musatafu. He was sat on his sofa, looking at the T.V on the other side of the room. However, he needed more than just picturing the image.

'I need to focus on my other senses,' he thought to himself, 'what do I hear, taste, feel, smell when I'm in that room?'

He focused once more.

He imagined hearing a car driving past his house and the sound of his next door neighbours.

He taste the cool air from his AC unit and the warm water of his recently drunk tea.

He felt the soft cushions underneath him and the hard floor beneath his feet.

He smelt the sharp smell of the cleaning product he used to clean the furniture.

He imagined that he was there. Sitting comfortably in his living room and not in the hotel room. Slowly and slowly the image becomes clearer and clearer until he felt as if he was actually in the room.

Ping!

His phone made a sound, snapping him out of his meditative state. He looked down at his phone which had lit up to signify he had received a message from Shoko. He sighed and picked it up to read the message.

However, the phone only reached a few inches in the air before it slipped out of his hand and fell back onto the bed. He picked it up again, but it slipped out again. Lewis was confused, he was sure he gripped it properly that time. This time he watched his hand picking it up and held it in his hand.

To his shock, the phone went through his hand.

It took a few moments for him to register what just happened. It wasn't an immediate drop, but his phone seemed to sink slowly through his hand and then once it was on the other, gravity took hold of it and it dropped harmlessly on the bed.

Lewis tried this a few more times to confirm that what was happening was real. It was like his hand has lost density. He reached for the lamp on his bedside table since it was to dim to see properly. It took a few goes as his finger, like his hand, kept on going through the switch. But once the lamp was turned on, he immediately stared at his hands in disbelief.

His hands were transparent. So transparent that he could see the floor right through them, like he was staring at a ghostly apparition. However, he looked up his arms and saw that they were just as see through. It was the same for his torso, his legs and, using his phone as a mirror, his face as well. Even his clothes were see through.

He laughed, because he didn't know how else to react.

"Okay, this...this is amazing," he muttered to himself.

That's when he realised that he's done it. He's gradually disappearing like he was turning a dimmer switch. The rest of his body must be at his house.

"I did it...I can't believe it...how do I turn back?"

Happy Halloween!

Hope you enjoyed the chapter. In the next few chapters, Lewis will be learning, working and developing his quirk at the Nighteye Agency as well as confronting the Hero Killer in Hosu. Sir Nighteye has even assigned him a case so he can try out his new skill.

I hope Nighteye's theory makes sense, please ask me any questions and I'll be happy to explain.

Just to let you know, but from now on, if I call Lewis 'Cheshire' I am referring to when he's in his hero costume.

Thanks for reading :)
