Here's the next chapter. Hope you'll enjoy it.
JaimonDosFendu - No problem, thanks so much for reading.
wellingtonlucas282 - That's so lovely to hear, thanks so much. I hope you'll enjoy the next chapter as well.
djinn - Thanks so much. I think Training of the Dead only appears in the anime not in the manga as an OVA. I'm pretty sure you can find the episode online somewhere.
Neo Infinity - No problem, I'm glad that you enjoyed it. It was a shame that we didn't get to see them again. I'll be sure to include them in a future chapter as they were very interesting. Thanks for reading.
Hakurofan7 - Thanks so much. I think it's one of my favourite OVA in My Hero Academia so I'm glad I did it justice. I can't wait to read your version of it. Thanks again.
CrypticMxsked - Nope, sorry.
Blake 1992 - I suppose it would. We didn't get to see much of Rumero's quirk in action before he gets bitten by Bakugo, so there may be a chance that there was more to his quirk. Thanks for reading.
Lelouch of Zero - Thanks so much. Lewis always happens to be, accidently, in the middle of conflict, so being the target of both Bakugo and Rumero is to be expected. Now that you mention it, Dadan's suit does look like the Gate Guardian; I never noticed before. I wonder if it was inspired by it. I'm also glad you like the autograph scene. For some reason, I'm quite cruel to...I mean I do a lot of 'character development' to Lewis. Hope you'll enjoy the next chapter.
Raging Drake - Hi, I see that you have posted a few reviews so I'll answer them chronologically.
1) Thanks so much. Yeah, I thought I could reflect quirk judgement in the MHA society so Lewis has to overcome it. Of course, the nature of the quirk itself is quite problematic.
2) Sorry, I should have been more specific in the description. Lewis needs to, at least, see or know where he is going to before he could teleport. I think I explained further in chapter 5.
3) Lewis...tends to overthinks things when he's stressed.
4) Oh definitely not. That would be terrible writing. It's like Sato's quirk; the more sugar he consumes, the more powerful he gets. Although his mind becomes slower as a cost. The more Lewis uses his quirk, the less rational he become and so he needs to find a way to overcome it. There's not going to be any spilt personality showdown in this story.
Thanks for reviewing.
noggin78 - Sadly yes. Lewis was only trying to be friendly as well. Thanks for reading.
im not entirely sure he - Haha That would be good; I'll be sure to keep note of it. Also I think you might have been thinking of my other OC from 'The Puzzling Adventures Of Edgar Cipher'.
Quirk - I think it's necessary. Restrictions might be frustrating, but it's an essential part in story telling. You have to forgive me for the first chapters as I was trying some things out, but now I have a good idea for what Lewis can and can't do. I can build on it, let him face adversities, hurdles he needs to get over, find alternative ways or I can have ask for help and build up character relations. Whatever it is, restrictions make Lewis a more rounded character and not just over powered; it makes them more interesting to read. Thank you and I hope you'll continue reading.
Thanks everybody for reviewing :)
Chapter 26: Finals
Class 1A
Lewis looked over the two test papers set on the table in front of him, reading the answers with a critical eye. He then looked up at the two owners of the test papers, Mina and Karminari, with a concerned look before looking down at the papers again. He did this a couple of times, glancing between his nervous-looking classmates and their results until he looked up at them with a sheepish smile.
"Right...well, it's not looking good."
The two slumped over in despair as they knew that this was going to happen.
"We're so going to fail!" Karminari wailed.
"But I really want to go to the summer camp!" Mina added as tears rolled down her eyes.
"It's not fair. Why do we get to miss out on all the fun!"
Jiro, who was sat at her desk nearby, rolled her eyes, "You guys should be more worried about your results have on your own hero careers and not on some camp."
Karminari turned around to face her with tears in his eyes, "Mr Aizawa said that the camp is part of out training to become heroes, so therefore not allowing us to go is discrimination against people who are not great at tests!"
"Yeah! It's discrimination!" Mina passionately agreed.
"Don't make excuses just because you didn't study," Jiro sighed, causing the two to flinch as she hit the nail on the head.
It had been a few weeks since the Isamu students visited and things have been quite busy as every prepared for the mock exams. Day after day, the students have done nothing but study and train until the weeks became a bleak blur of lectures and staring at paper. After getting his own results back Lewis was pleased to see that scored 3rd place out of 20 in his class as he promised Aizawa. The other students results were:
1st - Momo
2nd - Iida
3rd - Lewis
4th - Bakugo
5th - Midoryia
6th - Shoko
7th - Asui
8th - Jiro
9th - Ojiro
10th - Mineta
11th - Shoji
12th - Sato
13th - Ochako
14th - Fumikage
15th - Kirishima
16th - Hagakure
17th - Sero
18th - Aoyama
19th - Mina
20th - Karminari
Of course, this was only for the mock exams; the dreaded final exams are just around the corner and Lewis was beginning to suspect that some people were not taking it to well.
Mina latched onto Lewis arm and hung onto him in a tight embrace, causing him to blush, "Neko-chan please! I really want to go to the camp! Please help me!"
Karminari grabbed onto his other arm which caused him to sweat drop, "You have to help me! I just want to eat curry and enjoy my summer break! Is that too much to ask!"
"Alright, alright. Please stop. I told you I was going to help," Lewis reassured them, "I just need to read through your results, see where you need to work more on and we can build up from there. How does that sound?"
The two blinked up at him before their personalities turned a full 180 degrees as they grinned happily.
"Cool, thanks Neko chan!"
"You're our ticket to getting us to camp!"
"I'm only helping you study," Lewis murmured with a good-natured roll of his eyes.
"I could use some help," Sero said as he approached with his papers, "Maths isn't really my strong suit."
"Err...of course not."
"Do you mind if I join as well?" Jiro requested.
"Me too, if you're offering," Ojiro said with a small wave
Lewis gulped as he looked at his classmates surrounding him. It wasn't as if her doesn't want to help, but he was expecting to help only a handful of his classmates. He was helping them, then there won't be any time to focus on his own. Luckily, Momo saw this and instantly stepped in to rescue him.
"If you want, I can organise a study session at my home," she called out to them in a friendly manner, "That way Fleetwood and I can assist all of you."
The students took a moment to consider her offer, before they nodded in agreement.
"For real? That would be awesome!" Mina cheered.
"It'll definitely be more efficient that way," Ojiro added.
Lewis sighed in relief as he was no longer being overwhelmed and smiled happily at Momo, 'She really is too critical of herself. She just needs to be more confidence in her decision making and she will make a great hero in the future.'
Meanwhile, Momo's face lit up as she witnessed her classmates like her idea and jumped to her feet enthusiastically, "Absolutely! Ah! But first I need to report back to mother so she can open the lecture hall for us..."
'Lecture Hall?' everyone collectively thought.
"...Everyone," Momo continued as she began to jump up and down in joy, "I must know, is there a brand of black tea that any of you prefer!? At our home, we usually take either Harrods or Wedgewood, so if you have any requests I'll arrange them for you! Oh, this is going to be marvellous! I cannot wait for the weekend!"
Lewis sweat dropped as he watched Momo began to talk rapidly about the arrangements for them, 'She's adorable,' he thought before he looked over at Shoko sat in the seat next to him, "Would you like to join us, as well? I know you're grades are good, but I thought I should invite you."
The stoic girl looked over at him and plainly shook her head, "No, thank you. I prefer studying on my own."
"That's fine, but would you like to eat lunch with me? I've got something to give you."
She raised an eyebrow, "Something you can't give me now?" Lewis nodded his head, causing her to hum, "Fine...I'll be there."
"Great!"
Cafeteria
The only time the U.A students were not studying was during their lunch break, where they can finally have a rest from the long hours. Seven classmates from 1A were sat at a table. On one side there was Midoryia, Iida and Shoko while on the other side sat Ochako, Asui and Toru while Lewis sat at the end between Shoko and Toru. Everybody had started to eating the meal they received from Lunch Rush except for Shoko, who was waiting patiently for Lewis to get something out of his top hat.
"You didn't mention sitting with anybody else," Shoko whispered to him as she cast a look at the others.
Lewis got the sense that she didn't want them to be there, but she seemed rather...disappointed.
He gave her a sheepish smile, "Sorry, I forgot to tell you. Anyway, here you are," he said as pulled a bowl out from his hat and laid it down in front of her which was followed by a plate, "Sorry about the wait," he apologised.
She looked down and her eyes widened slightly as she saw the bowl of tsuyu sauce and a plate of soba noodles, "This is..." she uttered.
"Huh? Cold soba?" Hagkure said in confusion.
Ochako looked over with a hungry look, "Wow! That looks great. Although, I think I prefer it hot."
"Me too," Midoryia agreed before he looked over at Lewis, "I didn't know you can make it, Fleetwood."
"Well, it wasn't easy," Lewis admitted, "I'm more of a baker then a cook, so it took me ages to make the noodles from scratch. I read like a hundred cook books, went into a few restaurants to talk to the chef, I tried calling your mother, Todoroki, but they thought I was prank calling them and...threatened to call the police if I tried again...yeah, that was not fun. Instead, I talked to your sister and she was able to give me some tips-"
"How did you contact my sister?" Shoko asked, not once looking up from the meal in front of her.
"I happened to bump into her at the supermarket when I was looking for the best buckwheat. She seemed pretty eager to help me, for some reason."
Shoko hummed thoughtfully before she recalled one day a couple of weeks ago when Fuyumi returned from work grinning from ear to ear in excitement. She asked her what she was excited for, but she merely shook her head and refused to, in her own words, 'spoil the surprise'. Shoko would have questioned her more, but their father came home and that was the end of that.
"So, what do you think?" Lewis asked in slight worry, "The presentation is not perfect, I have to admit, but it was the best I could do."
Shoko responded by slowly reaching for her chopsticks, picking up a piece of soba, dipped into the sauce and ate it with one slurp. After a few seconds on silence from her, she looked up from her bowl and said with a straight face...
...
...
...
"It's good. Thank you," before she carried on eating.
The others on the table gave her blank looks, 'That's it?' they collectively thought.
To them, Shoko's response seemed harsh as her face barely moved from indifference, but Lewis knew better. He saw the subtle signs, her mouth turning up into a small smile, her eyes seemed to sparkle in delight and she gave of a bright aura that showed of the stoic girl's true feelings. Lewis couldn't been happier and a joy filled smile spread across his face at the compliment.
"Brilliant, maybe I can make it for you again some time," he suggested.
"Everyday," she said though mouthfuls.
Lewis frowned slightly, "That might be a too much."
"I'll reimburse you."
"I'm more worried about your health. Eating it everyday can't be good."
"Three times a week."
"Twice. Monday and Friday."
"Deal," she agreed as she slurped her noodles contently.
Asui put one of her fingers on her lips, "They do make an odd couple," she admitted.
"Yeah, but it's kind of sweet in a way," Ochako agreed.
Lewis looked up from Shoko and glanced over at Midoryia who seemed to be in deep thought as he picked at his rice, "Something on your mind, Midoryia?"
The green haired teen looked up at his name being called and responded with a sheepish smile, "I was just thinking about our practical exam. The content for the test for all the normal subjects is totally within the scope of our lessons, so we can still pull it off somehow...but...it's scary that we can't know what will be in the practical."
"Hopefully, it's nothing too wild," Iida said.
Hagakure lifted up her chopsticks and picked up a few noodles from her bowl, "Mr Aizawa said it'd be an overall summary of what we did this semester."
"Yeah, but he didn't tell us anything apart from that, ribbit," Asui added.
"He gave us the trials of battles and rescue," Ochako said, "And yeah, the rest was almost all basic training."
"Perhaps it relies on her instincts," Lewis suggested, "since we've been given so much information on the written exam and nothing on the practical, maybe Aizawa wants us to think on our feet and adapt to the situation."
Midoryia hummed, "Maybe, but that- OW!" he cried as something sharp slammed into the back of his head.
Turning around and rubbing his aching head, he saw Monoma from class 1B standing over him with a tray of food in his hands. He smirked down at them mockingly.
"Oh my bad, your head's so big that I ended up whacking you," he snidely said.
"Monoma," Midoryia gasped, "That really hur-"
"You lot encountered the hero killer, I heard," Monoma interrupted as he eyes darkened menacingly, "The ways in which you've been basking in the spotlight have only multiplied ever since the sports festival, haven't they, Class A. Only the attention you're grabbing isn't out of expectation; the attention you're grabbing is in the form of trouble!"
"Should we do something?" Hagakure whispered to Lewis.
He looked around and whispered back, "Don't worry, his handler is coming."
Monoma cackled, "Man it's so scary! One day, we might get wrapped up in the trouble you lot call out of the woodworks and then we'll get hurt! So scary I-"
THWACK!
In one swift motion, Kendo chopped him on the back of the neck, took his tray from him and caught him by his collar before he could slump to the floor, "That's not funny, Monoma," she scolded, "You know exactly what happened to Iida," she turned to them with a casual smile as if she didn't knock somebody out with just her hand, "Sorry, about that. Hope he didn't ruin your lunch."
"Hi Kendo," Lewis greeted, "It's been a while."
"It sure has. Komori was telling us how you met over the internship. Apparently, you jumped off a balcony," she said with a raised eyebrow.
"Not out of choice," he pointed out.
Kendo chuckled before she noticed Shoko's soba, "Oh wow! That doesn't look like the soba Lunch Rush is serving. Is it homemade? It looks really tasty," she questioned. Shoto responded by giving her a suspicious glare and moving her food away from her, "Err...I wasn't going to take it away from you or anything," Kendo reassured her with a sweat drop.
Lewis gave Kendo an apologetic look as of to say 'don't take it personally'.
"We were just talking about our practical exam," Iida told her, "How is your class fairing with them?"
"Oh the practical exam. Not too bad. I was told it'll be like the entrance exam. You know, like a battle simulation where you have to fight against robots."
"What? For real?" Midoryia cried out, "How do you know?"
Kendo pointed a thumb at herself, "I know an upperclassman personally, and asked. I know that's kinda cheating..."
She trailed off when she noticed the intense look on Midoryia's face as he began to mutter furiously, finding it a little creepy. She felt Monoma stir in her hand and looked down in time to see him slowly raising his head.
"Are you stupid, Kendo," he growled, "You just threw away our hard-won intelligence advantage! That was our chance to overtake the fools in Class A-"
THWACK!
She delivered another blow to his neck and began to drag him away, "The only stupid person here is you," she scolded before she nodded at Lewis, "Good luck. We should hang out after the exams if you have time."
Lewis blushed slightly, "Err...yeah, I would...like that," he awkwardly responded as Kendo dragged Monoma away.
He heard a small cough and turn back to see that Shoko had finished her soba while he was distracted. She looked from him, down to her empty bowl and plate, making him guess that was her way of shyly asking if he had anymore.
"Sorry, that was all I made," he told her.
She blinked at him before she gave him a slightly menacing glare. She then turned her head away and made a 'humph' sound.
'That must be her sulking expression,' Lewis thought, 'She's so cute.'
Class 1A
A few hours later it was the end of the school day and the group had decided to tell the class what they had learned from Kendo. It was met with mixed reactions, but the two students who were the most ecstatic were Mina and Karminari. The two had relieved smiles on their faces and laughed joyfully at the news.
"What really?" Karminari said, "Well, if it's just robots then it'll be a walk in the park."
Shoji, who was sat his seat, hummed thoughtfully, "You must be happy because your quirks are hard to adjust against human opponents."
"Yep," Mina chirped as she pumped her fist in the air, "We don't have to hold back our quirk."
"We might not even need to study since we're going to win so easily."
Lewis gave them a stern look, "You two are going to that study session. Just because you're going to do well on the practical, doesn't mean you have to slack off on the written exam."
"Aww," Karminari and Mina moaned.
"Morons," Bakugo spat as he got up from his desk, "Who cares if it's people or robots, it's all the same when they're blown away. Walk in the park, my ass."
The two students glared angrily at him.
"Who're you calling a moron, moron!" Karminari shouted.
"SHUT UP!" Bakugo snapped at them, "You two need to learn how to control your quirks!" he turned his red eyes towards Midoryia, "That goes for you Deku," he growled, causing the green haired boy to flinch in surprise, "I dunno if you've come to understand a little...how to use a quirk, but you're really trying my Goddamn nerves, shitrag."
Lewis raised a curious eyebrow, not quite sure what Bakugo was getting at.
"Let me tell you right now, I don't want the same hollow-ass result as the damn Sports Festival. By the end of next term, we'll see by our grades just who the better man is...whether you like it or now!" he declared before pointing determinedly at him, "I'll annihilate you. Leave you in the dust with the gap between us and then I'll fucking murder you!" he eyes left Midoryia and focused on Shoko and Lewis sat at their desks, "That goes for you two fucks as well!" he yelled before he stomped out of the room and slammed the door behind him.
The rest of the class sat in stunned silence for a few moments. It had been a while since Bakugo had proclaimed he was going to murder anybody and Midoryia couldn't help, but feel concerned for him.
However, all Lewis could think of at the moment was, 'Why was I included in that?'
As Bakugo angrily walked down the school hallway, Aizawa was hidden around the corner and watched him go by. The teacher hummed and began writing something on the clipboard he had.
"He's gotten worse then I thought," he muttered to himself.
Yaoyorozu Estate Gates
Lewis, Mina, Karminari, Jiro, Ojiro, and Sero dressed in the casual clothes, stood in stunned silence in front of the giant ornate gate that was the entrance to Momo's 'house'. They looked left down the road and saw that the iron fence that bordered the estate's large forest continued out of sight and it was the same on the other side. Lewis was not a stranger to large estates as England had a lot of them, but they were usually owned by historic preservation charities which you pay to visit. He had never know anybody who owned and lived in one before and the group were not coming to terms on how rich Momo Yaoyorouzu really was.
"Are...you sure this is the place?" Mina questioned, not once taking her eyes of the gate.
Lewis checked the address Momo gave him and nodded, "Yeah, this is it," he said.
He walked towards the doorbell beside the gate pressed it. He waited for a few seconds before a male voice spoke through the speaker underneath the bell.
"May I help you," he slowly drawled.
Lewis cleared his throat and leaned into to the speaker, "Err...yes, hello. My name is Lewis Fleetwood. We're here to meet Yaoyorouzu."
"Oh, of course, you're here for the-"
He was cut off suddenly by a gasp on the other end followed by a feminine squeal of excitement. Lewis heard the sound of hushed voices before a new, more familiar voice came from the speaker.
"Good day, everybody," Momo sung happily, "Come on in. I'll meet you at the front door."
With a firm click, the iron gates began to swing open, allowing them access into the estate. The students shared curious looks before walking through the gates and up the path. Soon they saw a giant bricked manor house which was three floors high and had two wings that extended from the central hall. It was intricately designed with stone carvings and wide windows that looked out over the front garden and the ornate fountain. They walked down the stone path to a set of marble stairs that led up to the front door. They were not alone as they were greeted by the manor's staff upon the steps. One the left side, there were maids in the black and white uniforms while on the right there were butlers in black suits. They bowed to them in greeting and suddenly felt a little uncomfortable.
"Welcome ladies and gentlemen," they gracefully said simultaneously.
Suddenly, the front door opened and Momo, wearing an white blouse and skirt, appeared with an excited smile on her face. However, the look dissolved away when she noticed her staff were already out. Ignoring it for now, Momo skipped down the steps and approached them.
"Hello, welcome to my home. I hope you didn't have a hard time finding it. It's quite a way out of the city," she said with an elegant smile.
The students looked around the massive area of land in bafflement.
"No...no problem at all," Jiro said looked down at her band t-shirt, now feeling that what she was wearing was inappropriate.
Momo smiled happily before she turned back to her manor's staff "Why are you out here? I thought I said we wouldn't do the normal greeting," she questioned.
"But it's such a special occasion, dear," a feminine voice said from inside.
Stepping out of the front door was a woman who looked like the spitting image of Momo, but older and she wore her hair down over her shoulders in an elegant fashion. She wore a beautiful white summer dress and gold necklace around her neck. Once the woman, laid her eyes on the students her eyes lit up and she descended the stairs gracefully.
"Oh my, are these your friends, dear. You must be very popular," she happily said.
"Mother," Momo groaned in embarrassment, "Please stop."
"That's her mother," Karminari whispered to Sero, "I thought it was her older sister."
Momo's mother clapped her hands together in delight, "Welcome, my name is Akari Yaoyorozu and it's so lovely to finally meet you all. My little Momo has told me all about you. Let's go to conservatory and we can talk over some tea. Oh and some scones and biscuits."
The students felt a wave of relief come over them, their concerns of not fitting in instantly vanishing from Akari's warm welcome. They were so enthralled by the older woman, that would have blindly gone with her if Momo didn't interject.
"Mother, they came here to study. Finals are next week and we can't waste anymore time," she firmly reminded.
Akari pouted slightly, "But I wanted to meet your friends, dear," she said before she perked up again, "Then I must join you in the lecture hall and assist you in your studies," causing Momo to sigh irritably and began leading them inside the house.
Lewis chuckled in amusement as Akari followed them, talking to each student individually with enthusiasm and curiosity as young child, "I didn't know what to expect from Yaoyoruzu's parents. She kind of reminds me of your mother, Mina," Lewis whispered to the pink skinned girl.
Mina gritted her teeth, "Please don't remind me," she muttered.
Momo led them down an fancy hallway decorated with large paintings, ranging from European Impressionism to traditional Japanese portraits, marble floors and other antique items that wouldn't look out of place in a palace. She led them down one hallway into another and another with all of them looking the same. Lewis briefly wondered how they didn't get lost all the time when he felt a delicate hand on his shoulder.
"So you must be Fleetwood," Akari said, making him jump slightly, "Momo has told me all about you."
"O-oh really?"
"Indeed, she talks highly of you as a Vice President and your academic skills."
"Mother," Momo warned.
Akari responded with an innocent expression, "Oh my apologies, dear. Was I not supposed to tell him that?"
Momo sighed tiredly. She loves her mother dearly, but she can be so embarrassing.
They eventually came to a large hall just as fancy as the rest of the house. A large oak table dominated the room; big enough to fit all of them comfortably and space to spare. On one side there were wide windows looked out on a lovely garden where a few gardeners were tending to, while large oil paintings hung on the other side. As the students gawked at the sight, Momo walked over to the table, where a few books were staked, and turned to them with an excited smile.
"Shall we begin?" she asked.
"Yes, of course," Akari cheered in response, "Let's start with some tea and then-"
But before the older woman could respond, Momo was already pushing her out of the door, "This is a private study group, mother."
"But I want to get to know your friends," Akari whined.
"We can't have anymore distractions," Momo said through gritted teeth.
Ojiro raised hi so hand, "Err…I actually wouldn't mind some tea," Momo sent him a sharp look, "…In maybe an hour... no rush," he gulped.
A couple of hours later and everybody was concentration on their work. Lewis and Momo has assigned each of them tasks to do and areas they need to focus on while answering any questions that they may have. Currently, Lewis was sat next to Sero looking over his work while Momo was explaining mathematical formula to him.
"Okay, so you mixed up 'during' and 'while'," he told Sero, "They almost mean the same thing, but 'during' is used over a period of time; like 'I bought food during the break'. And 'while' is used when something is happening at the same time as another action; like 'I saw a film while my friend ate.' Other then that, you're doing great."
"Cool. Thank you, Fleetwood."
"No problem," he told him before Momo waved to him to catch his eye.
"I'm just going to retrieve the tea. I'll only be a moment," she told him.
Lewis nodded in acknowledgement and she walked out of the giant hall. As she was leaving he saw Jiro give him a lazy wave from her seat at the end of the table.
"Hey, you mind checking this?"
"Of course not."
He walked over to her and, because there were no other seats available, decided to lean over her shoulder and study her workbook from above. Unwittingly, Lewis had put his face right next to Jiro's causing her to blush at how unexpected it was. She glanced over at him, but snapped her head back to the front at how close he was, causing her to become even more red in the face.
'I should tell him to move away,' she thought before glancing over at him again before she gave a small smile, "...maybe in a few seconds. It's not as if he's bothering me or anything.'
She heard a giggle from the other side of the table and looked around to see that Mina was giving her a teasing smirk. Jiro gave her a cold look, but it had little effect on the pink girl.
Suddenly, the doors opened and everyone looked up to see Akari walk in carrying a plate of cookies, "Are you all well?" she asked, "I noticed my dear Momo leave and thought it would be a good time to come in."
Mina's eyes widened in excitement, "Are those cookies?"
"They sure are," Akari sung as she laid the plate on the table, "Studying requires regular eating and a balanced blood sugar levels and since you have been working so hard, I thought I'll bake you some treats."
Ojiro rubbed the back of his head, "You baked them. No offence, but I thought you would have a cook for that."
Akari giggled in delight, "While we do hire plenty of cooks, I thought I make these especially for you," she said with a friendly smile, "Besides, I always think cooking things for yourself taste better, no?"
'She's so lovely!' they all thought with content smiles.
Mina was the first to reach over and take a cookie, "Thanks Momo's mum!"
"You're the best!" Sero cheered as he took one for himself.
"This is exactly what I needed right now!" Karminari added.
The older woman clapped her hands together, "I'm so glad to hear it. Please eat as many as you like and do tell me what you think. I came up with the recipe myself."
Lewis reached over and took a cookie from the plate. After observing for a second, he put it in his mouth, bit a piece of...
...and it instantly made him want to throw up. Not only was it the worst thing he has ever eaten, but he's not even sure that he's ever tasted anything like it ever before. It was sweet, salty, oily, bitter, sour, chalky, fatty and pungent all mixed together like a cesspool of taste and flavour. It was so overwhelming that his taste buds instantly rejected the food and he had to force himself to swallow at least four times. Once it finally slipped past his gullet, he could feel his stomach churn as it tried to process the disgusting thing he just ate. He shivered in horror and looked around to see his classmates were also having difficulty trying to eat. All of them, even Mina, seemed to have gone pale as if they had just lived through a traumatic event. Akira, however, didn't seem to notice their disgust and just smiled gently.
"So what do you think?"
Lewis gulped, "I-I...It's very...interesting. Mrs Yaoyorozu, out of interest, what is in these?"
Akira hummed thoughtfully, "Oh nothing out of usual. Sugar, butter, a pinch of salty, tuna-"
"Tuna?"
"Oh yes," Akira said with a small nod, "It's a rich sauce of omega-3 and perfect for when you are studying. I also put in walnuts, flaxseed, avocados for more Omega-3, spinach and kale for vitamin K, tea leaves and coffee grounds for the caffeine boost, dark chocolate, seaweed and shellfish, turmeric..."
As Akira continued to list of all the things on the list, the students began to grow paler and paler and wished that Momo would hurry back with the tea, because there was no way they could deal with her mother.
A couple more hours had passed and Momo was able to get rid of her mother again as well as disposing the cookies. She told them that she meant well, but she had prioritise the nutritional value over taste. Luckily, none of them took another bite otherwise they would have probably ended up in a hospital. Lewis had needed to use the restroom and asked Momo where he could find one. She had asked one of the maids to lead him to the nearest one. Not long after, he stepped out of the bathroom and looked up and down the hallway, marvelling at the size of everything.
'I can't imagine what it would be like to live here,' he thought to himself as he began to make his way back to the hall.
It was a long walk and Lewis got lost a few times. It didn't help that every corridor and hallway more or less looked the same. He was about to go down a flight of stairs when he heard somebody speak up from behind him.
"Fleetwood," he turned around and saw Akari not too far away, "Are you looking for the lecture hall?"
Lewis smiled in relief, "Yes, sorry I got a little lost."
"That's perfectly fine," she said with a small chuckle, "But before you go back, do you mind helping me with something?"
He raised a curious eyebrow, "Err...yes of course."
"Wonderful! Please follow me."
She led him down another hallway, up a flight of stairs until they stopped outside an oak door. Akari twisted the knob and pushed it open and gestured her hand to let him enter first. He stepped in and saw that he was in a bedroom with a large king-sized bed, a writing desk over by the window and giant wardrobe on the far side. The most prominent part was that every wall had shelves upon shelves of books of all shapes and sizes that reach up to the ceiling. Lewis spotted a ladder leaning on wall for easy access to the highest shelves. The only shelf that didn't have any books was a set of matryoshka dolls contained in a simple plastic case like a museum display.
"This is our spare room," Akari said, much to his disbelief, "It's quite cosy, no?"
"...Sure," Lewis replied hesitantly, "So what do you need help with?
Akari giggled and headed to one of the book shelves and pulled out one particular leather-bound book and turned back to him.
"I want your help," she opened the book to show a collection of photographs, "to look through my dear Momo's photo album," she declared happily.
Lewis blinked at her, "...I'm sorry?"
"This is the first time Momo has ever brought around guests and I want to show off her greatest achievements," she explained as she sat on the bed, "She was such a smart child and so adorable and I've been waiting for ages to show her friends," she patted the bed to the side of her, "Come, come. Let's do this before your other friends notice your absence."
Lewis hesitated slightly, but eventually sat beside her and looked down at the photo album in her lap. Akari pointed at the first photo with a proud smile. It depicted five year old Momo, whose hair was still pulled up into a spiky ponytail, using her quirk to produce matryoshka dolls.
"This was the first time Momo used her quirk. I can still remember how proud she was," Akari explained in delight before she pointed to another picture of a young Momo some sort of reward at her preschool. Lewis couldn't help but chuckle when he noticed the elated look on her face; the same she shows whenever she organises something. Some things never change, "That was her first school reward for perfect attendance," she explained before pointing at another photo of Momo at a piano, "This was at her first piano recital."
"I didn't know she played the piano?" Lewis enquired.
"Oh yes, you must ask hear her play sometime," Akari said before she pointed to a photo of another young Momo in a swimming costume holding up a medal, "This was her winning the swimming tournament at her middle school," she then pointed to her holding up a certificate, "This was when she won the shogi chess championship in her school."
Akari continued to point out every photo of Momo winning something in some championship or tournament. Lewis was impressed by the sheer number of rewards she received, he couldn't imagine how much work she put into these activities. Finally, at the last photo, Akari softly closed the album and turned to look at Lewis.
"What do you think? Isn't she such a genius?"
"Oh yes. It's really impressive," Lewis replied honestly.
Akari nodded before her proud smile fell slightly, "Just one last more thing, Fleetwood. Did you happen to notice anything about what I showed you?"
He frowned in slight confusion, "Other then the rewards?"
"Indeed," she confirmed, "Take your time."
Lewis hummed thoughtfully, trying to think of anything about the photos, 'Well, she's a high achiever. Always works hard, but is not particular boastful about it. Is there something about the type of rewards or what about the people she was with. No, that can't be right. There weren't anybody else in the...' he stopped mid-thought, a feeling of sadness settling in. He turned to Akari and said, "She's alone in all of these photos. Not a single photo of her and her friends."
Any trace of a smile fell from Akari's face as she nodded solemnly. She brushed her hand over the book with a delicate hand, "When I and Momo's father first bought this book, just after she was born, we planned on filling up with photos of her and the friends she was going to make... but it never happened," she gave a small sigh, "Momo was an only child and while she lived here she never got the chance to interact with anybody at her age. I don't know whether it was out of shyness or just inexperience, but no matter how much we encouraged her...she never really made any friends. Don't get me wrong, we're still very proud of all her achievements, but having companionship and camaraderie is just as important. Perhaps if we hadn't pushed her to do more activities then she would be more sociable."
"Have you ever talked about this to her?" he asked.
"We have and she promises to get better, but it doesn't seem like she's willing," she softly said, looking down at the album sadly, "She may not show it much, but she can be quite sensitive. If she feels like she's failing or gets something wrong, she blames herself too much. She excels in planning and calculating decisions, but she lacks when it comes to emotions and understand human psyche…I support her decision to be a hero, but I'm afraid that if something terrible happens; she won't be able to handle it."
Lewis looked at the older woman. Her cheerful expression had all but vanished from her face as she stared down at the photo album in worry. It was clear that her daughter had been a concern for her for a while and she had been covering up well. He could understand her feelings; Momo does seem to be getting more and more depressed as the school year continued. However, there was one thing that Akari didn't consider.
"Ms Yaoyoruzu," he softly said, "I know that Momo can be…hard on herself, but I honestly think she's stronger then you think," he told her, causing her to look up in curiosity, "From the first day I met, Momo has won the respect of all her classmates and her teachers. I've seen how capable she can be again and again, but what she really needs is confidence. And is our duty as her classmates to encourage her and praise her to become a better hero. None of us are perfect heroes now, but that's why we're at a hero school. I understand your worry now, but as long as I and the rest of the class don't abandon her, she can be one of the greatest heroes of our generation. So please don't think she's making any progress, because she really is and you have nothing to worry about."
Akari considered his words for a few seconds before a small smile graced her lips, "I knew I had a good feeling about you. You were the first person Momo mentioned to us on the first day of school. You left quite the impression on her," she told him, causing him to blush slightly, "Fleetwood, please promise me you'll keep her safe and support her as much as you can."
He nodded firmly, "I promise, Mrs Yaoyoruzu."
Akari's bright smile returned to her face. She stood up, returned the album to the shelf and turned back to him, "Thank you, Fleetwood," she said sincerely, "Now we should probably leave this room before she returns."
"…Who returns?"
"What are you doing in my room!?" somebody yelped from the door.
They both looked around and saw a red-faced Momo, her eyes widened in shock and embarrassment. It slowly dawned on Lewis and he snapped his head towards.
"You said it was a spare room."
Akari simply giggled and glided out the room, "Oh did I? My mistake," she lied.
Once she had left, Lewis and Momo stared each other for a few seconds; too embarrassed to say anything to each other. Eventually, Momo sighed.
"Fleetwood."
"Yes?"
"Can you please get off my bed."
"Oh…right," he stammered as he immediately stood up and patted the bedsheets to remove the creases.
U.A Shuttle Bus Terminal
The next week, the writing exam was finally over and Lewis and the rest of the class couldn't be happier. All the studying had paid off and he was confident that he passed, however, it wasn't over yet. The students, all in the hero costumes, had gathered outside the shuttlebus terminal opposite their eight of their teachers. There was Midnight, Snipe, Thirteen, Power Loader, Present Mic, Cementoss, Ectoplasm, and finally their home room teacher Aizawa. Cheshire was a little confused about their presence, but assumed they were there to evaluate their exam.
Aizawa took a step forwards and glared lazily at them, "Right, the test exercise will begin shortly. Obviously, you can fail this test, too. So if you want to head to the forest lodge then we'd better not see any pitiful blunders from you," he drawled, looking over each of his students to emphasise his point, "I've no doubt you all learned what information you could of the test beforehand, so I think you already hold a vague notion of what you are to do..."
"Sure!" Chargebolt cried enthusiastically, "Just like the entrance exam! Bring it on!"
"Yeah!" Xeno called out as she pumped her fist into the air, "I can just see the fireworks! The curry! The dares!"
Suddenly, something ruffled inside Aizawa's scarf until the furry face of their principal popped out and waved his paw, "Sorry, I'm afraid not! Due to various reasons, we're changing the contents of the test, starting today!" he cheered.
"Principal Nezu?" Cellophane questioned as Chargebolt and Xeno froze in disbelief.
"What does he mean by that?" Creatie murmured.
"How long has he been in Aizawa's scarf?" Cheshire asked in confusion.
"A good question, Mr Fleetwood," Nezu squeaked as he used the end of one of Aizawa's scarf to abseil down to the ground, "But that's not important right now. Some of you may be surprised about this change. We only ever used robots to begin with as a method to circumvent complaints against 'risking peoples harm during a high school entrance exam'. But from now on, we'll focus our tests on person-to-person battle activities and emphasising a teaching environment closer to that of real battle. Which, boys and girls, is all to say...that henceforth we will be have you form pairs to engage in combat with one of these here educators!" he declared waving a paw at their teachers.
The students turned pale as soon as his announcement. Fighting robots was one thing, but fighting professional heroes with years of experience was worrying. The students with non-fighting quirks started to panic slightly; while the students with fighting quirks were growing concerned. Even Cheshire was unsure that he would win in a fight against a hero. He barely escaped that nomu a few weeks ago.
Nezu gave a squeaky chuckle at their response, "Now who all of you are paired with an which teacher you'll be fighting have already been decided. The way you tend to move, your grades, and your degree of familiarity...we personally judged how you'll be pairing up based on all sort of things, and we'll list the matchups now," he pointed a paw at Elduris and then Creatie, "First of all, Todoroki's with Yaoyorozu as a team," he announced surprising them both.
"And you'll be going against me," Aizawa, or Erasure Head, said with a challenging grin. He then turned towards Deku, "And Midoryia you're with Bakugo as a team."
Cheshire turned around and frowned in concern. The two shared a look, one with worry in his eyes, while the other glaring furiously. It was clear that neither of them were comfortable working as a team.
"AND YOUR OPPONENT WILL BE ME!" a booming voice sounded behind them. They both turned around and stared in horror at All Might who was clutching his fist in determination, "NOW COOPERATE AND COME AT ME TO WIN YOU TWO!"
"The ten teams will be starting in their respective stages simultaneously," Aizawa continued, "The general out-line of the test will be explained by each of the teachers you'll be battling. You're to be transported by the campus buses. Time is precious, so get in them promptly."
The rest of the teams were announced:
Ashido and Karminari Vs Principle Nezu
Aoyama and Uraraka Vs Thirteen
Asui and Tokoyami Vs Ectoplasm
Sero and Mineta Vs Midnight
Hagakure and Shoji Vs Snipe
Sato and Kirishima Vs Cementoss
Iida and Ojiro Vs Power Loader
And finally Lewis and Jiro Vs Present Mic
As soon as the teams were announced Present Mic jumped in front of Cheshire and Earphone Jack and struck a pose, "Oh yeah, you kids are against me! Don't expect me to go easy on you, because when I party, I turn it up to eleven! Yeah!"
Earphone Jack raised an eyebrow, "You can fight? I thought you were just a radio presenter," she said coolly.
"Dammit! Hey girl, watch your mouth, huhhnn!" he yelled in offence.
Cheshire gave a small chuckle before looking over the other team with a curious look, 'I wonder how they chose the teams. It seems like an unusual mix,' he thought before looking back at Present Mic, 'I'm fairly sure I could put up a fair fight, but wouldn't it make it more difficult for me to the test with another teacher? There must something else they are evaluating us on. I'm sure it will become clear once the exam starts,' he told himself in dread.
Sorry this came out late. I was on holiday last week and while I did have a lovely time, it did mean I wasn't writing as much. Originally, this was going to be a chapter devoted to Mineta using Lewis to help make him more popular, but I scrapped it after a while because I didn't think it was funny. However, I did keep the omake and I hope you'll enjoy it.
I based Momo's mother on the 'My Hero Academia: School Briefs' books and apparently her parents are lovable dorks. I'm kind of glad, to be honest, because I didn't want them to be portrayed as snobbish.
Thanks for reading :)
Omake
Class 1A
Lewis swiftly entered the classroom and headed straight to his seat at the back of the class. He gave a curious hum when he noticed that none of his classmates had arrived yet before looking at his phone to check if he's got the right time or date. Confirming that he was supposed to be here, he shrugged and assumed that he was just really early for some reason and began taking things out of his bag to prepare for the day.
This is Lewis Fleetwood. An average high schooler with average grades and hardly any friends.
"Huh?" Lewis uttered as he thought he heard somebody speak. He looked around, but there was nobody there, "Weird. What was that?" he said to himself, "Somebody just called me average? I doubt being able to teleport constitutes as being average," he shrugged again and continued his preparation, "Must be hearing things. Maybe I should stop studying so late."
He was in the middle of placing his bag under his desk when he heard the classroom door open and somebody stepping in. He heard the sound of footsteps coming towards him.
"Good morning, Fleetwood," greeted the familiar voice of Midoriya.
However, for some reason, he sounded different. As if he was speaking in a higher octave.
Lewis straightened himself up to greet his friend, "Morning Mid-"
Suddenly the back of his head collided into two soft objects as he was leaning up. It was followed by a cute 'kya' before the soft objects were removed from off his head. Confused, Lewis looked up to see what was going on, however, the sight only perplexed him more.
Standing in front of him, with two arms covering her large chest shyly, was Midoriya.
But it wasn't the Midoriya he knew.
She head the same messy green hair, but it was longer and came to her shoulders. Her face had the same freckles and same eyes, but the eyelashes were longer and it was more feminine in shape. She wore the same school uniform, but instead of trousers she wore a pleated skirt. He was sure that there must have been a more ration explanation, but he couldn't think of one at the moment as Lewis stared in bewilderment as the person before him.
It was a female Izuku Midoriya.
Izumi Midoriya?
"Fleetwood, be more gentle," she said as she blushed in embarrassment, "If you want to touch them then...you only have to ask."
...
...
...
...
"What?" Lewis uttered after a while, "What? But...what?"
Izumi bright eyes widened in concern, "Are you feeling well, Fleetwood. Do you want me to take you to the nurse's office? Did you use your quirk too much?"
"No...I mean...firstly, sorry for earlier. Although, you probably shouldn't have been standing over me like that. Secondly...who are you?"
Izumi gasped in horror, "What do you mean? We're childhood friends, remember. We grew up together."
This is Izumi Midoriya. Lewis's childhood friend and an aspiring hero. She secretly loves him because he would protect her from the bullies in her school and when they were four years old, Izumi made Lewis promise that they'll marry each other, but he has completely forgotten.
Lewis looked around again, 'There's that voice again. Is it some sort of narrator? Also who remembers anything from when they were fours years old. I don't think I should be blamed for that,' he turned back to Izumi, "Err...I don't think we are. Considering we met like four months ago...and we grew up in two completely different countries."
Izumi sighed sadly, "You can be so cruel to me," before her green eyes sparkled, "But I still care for you, Fleetwood. No matter what."
"This doesn't sound like a healthy relationship," Lewis commented before he looked around the classroom and noticed something, "Where are all our female classmate's desks? What's going on here?"
Izumi looked around the classroom, "Doesn't seem different to me. All the classrooms look like this at U.A High School for Girls."
"...At...what?" Lewis questioned in bewilderment.
"Don't you remember? U.A High was recently just a girl's school, but Principal Nezumi decided to turn it into a Co-Ed. However, since the girls are not used to boys, they've only allowed two boys to attend this year."
Lewis blinked in puzzlement, "There are...so many things wrong with that," he stated after a few seconds, "Wait, does that mean-"
But before he could finish his sentence, the door opened again and his jaw dropped at the person who entered.
"Good morning, you two," a tall, fit girl with short blueish hair and glasses greeted as she stepped in, "You're dedication to your studies are admirable."
"Iida?" Lewis gasped.
This is Tomoyo Iida, daughter of a wealthy family of heroes and the class president. Lewis caught her eye on the first day and had admired him ever since he saved her from Stain. Since then she had made several attempts to get her family to buy him into a marriage contract.
'Buy!' Lewis thought in shock.
Tomoyo marched her way up to Lewis' desk, standing above him with a confident posture. Although, despite how serious she seemed, her rosy cheeks and how her shoulders shifted nervously gave away her true intentions.
"Fleetwood," she said professionally, "There is some urgent business we need to attend to after school. Perhaps we can go back to my mansion in my family's limousine to discuss it further," she suggested, pushing up her glasses further up her nose.
"I'm fairly sure you take the subway, because no normal person would take a limo to school," Lewis stated, noting that Izumi pouted cutely when Tomoyo made her proposal.
SLAM!
Everybody jumped in surprise as the door slammed open and in stomped another girl. Apparently, he hasn't been shocked enough today as he recognised her a bushy blond hair, her red loathing eyes and a scowl that would frighten the bravest of villains. The only difference was her toned feminine physique and the uniform she wore casually. She shot them a furious glare as annoyed growl escaped her lips.
"What the fuck are you bitches doing surrounding that foreigner," she muttered she turned her red eyes onto him in a very familiar way, "Don't get a big head because you're, for some stupid reason, popular, you shitty gaijin!" she spat.
This is Katsumi Bakugo, Class 1A's top students and extremely volatile to pretty much anybody and anything that comes across her path. She too tried to bully our protagonist anytime he would defend Izumi. However, there's another side to her...
'Huh, the narration ended on a cliffhanger,' Lewis thought.
Tomoyo frowned disapprovingly, "Katsumi that is no way to talk to your fellow classmates."
"Up yours, four eyes," she replied harshly.
"You really haven't changed," Lewis sighed, "although, I have to admit Katsumi is a better name for you."
Katsumi blinked a couple of times before (and this was by far the most surprising thing to happen so far) she blushed and turned her head away with a small pout.
"Don't compliment me, baka," she mumbled.
...She's a tsundere! Totally cute, right!?
'Her cuteness doesn't justify her being abusive!' Lewis shouted in his head.
That was when more students started to filter in and Lewis couldn't help but stare in confusion at the female version of his male classmates. There was Tokoyami whose plumage was much more longer and her beak was sharper, Karminari whose hair was slightly wavier and wore quite a lot of make-up and Sato who, while still having large lips, looked like a female body-builder. One by one, they entered the class and headed straight for his desk, making Lewis feel overwhelmed and start to panic.
"W-what's going on?" he choked out, "Why are you all women?"
They are shared a confused look.
"What are you taking about?" female Sero questioned, "We've always been girls."
"I think he might be sick," Izumi piped up, "He doesn't seem to remember anything at all."
"Perhaps we should take him to the nurse's office," female Shoji said as she inspected Lewis with one of her eyes at the end of her limb.
"Pfft, he's fine," female Karminari said with a dismissive wave of her hand, "I bet he was just up all night studying. You need to take a rest, dude. Why don't we go to karaoke together after school. Rent a private room, you know what I mean," she suggested with a flirty wink.
Female Tokoyami made a 'humph' sound, "Partaking in such frivolous activities like karaoke are unworthy of someone like my dark prince," earning a annoyed glare from the blond.
"And what would you recommend?" she challenged.
Tokoyami made a dramatic pose as she turned to Lewis, "Dining together in the darkness of my realm so are hearts will be entwined and bring forth a new reign of darkness that we'll rule for eternity."
That was when Dark Shadow, who like her master had a longer plumage, popped out from behind her, "She wants to go out on date, but she's embarrassed to say it normally."
Tokoyami's feathers ruffled in humiliation, "Curse you, Dark Shadow. Do not give away our darkest secrets."
'Dark Shadow's a girl too? But it's not a living thing,' he thought before he shook his confusion away and stood up abruptly, "I need to go...now...sorry!" he exclaimed in panic.
He had only taken one step before he collided with somebody. He looked down and saw a female Mineta, whose balls were hanging down the side of her head like pigtails, and was horrified to see a trail of blood gushing from her nose.
"Oh man, sometimes I love being this short. I get to see my favourite organ right in front of me," she murmured as she began to lean in uncomfortably towards his crotch.
Instantly, Lewis backed away until he hit another two soft large mounds.
"Whoa dude," female Kirishima, a girl with shoulder length spiky red hair and a muscular body, said from behind him, "Easy there. You look stressed. Maybe we can work our after class," she suggested with a dazzling grin, "That always puts me in a good mood."
"Absolute non," a flowery voice spoke from the crowd as female Aoyama glided gracefully into view, "As if mon cher, would ever do something so..sweaty. He can come with me and do a photo shoot of moi, n'est pas."
Lewis blinked at her, 'Huh. Aoyama really doesn't look any different from his male self,' he thought with a sweat drop.
He perked up when he heard the door open again and, much to his relief, saw the messy black hair of his homeroom teacher, "In your seats," Aizawa growled threateningly, "Let's get this over with."
'Oh thank God,' Lewis thought as he broke away from the crowd and ran to the teacher, "Mr Aizawa, I need help. I don't know why, but all our classmates have been turned into w-"
His words got caught in his throat when he finally saw Aizawa's face. He expected to see the familiar five o'clock shadow and tired red eyes of his teacher, but instead her large eyes, her high cheekbones and her soft complexion. She still had dark rings around her eyes and a rather menacing features, but Lewis had to admit that she was really pretty...in a tired sort of way.
"Fleetwood," Shizu Aizawa muttered, "Already causing me problems."
This is Shizu Aizawa, Class 1A teacher homeroom teacher and tired beauty. Will Lewis win her heart like he has done with the other girls in class?
'I'M NOT WINNING ANY HEARTS!' Lewis screamed at the narrator, 'I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!' he looked around and saw the other gender-bent classmates approach him with lust in their eyes, 'I need to get out of here! Please somebody help!'
"That's enough!"
Lewis and the other women jumped in surprise as they heard a strong, masculine voice. They turned to the door and Lewis's jaw dropped, again, as he recognised the only other male in the room. His hair might be shorter, his wore trousers instead of a skirt and his face was more angular, but Lewis recognised the scar over his left his heterochromia eye and his red and white hair.
"Shoko!" Lewis gasped.
No, it's actually Shoto Todoroki. The only other male in this entire school...for some reason.
'Even the narrator doesn't know? Whatever, Shoko...I mean Shoto is my best bet to figuring out what's going on,' Lewis thought as he walked over to him, "Shoto, you have to help me. I think a villain attacked the school or something, because everybody's a different gender and they are in love with me for some unexplained reason."
Shoto cocked his head to the side and gave Lewis a blank look, "Are they bothering you, Fleetwood."
Lewis blinked, "In a way. Yes."
Suddenly, Shoto reached a hand to Lewis' face and caressed his cheek lovingly, "Well, don't worry, darling," he whispered as a gentle smile spread across his face and rose petals seemed to drift around him like they were in a romantic movie, "I'll take care of you from now on."
"Kya!" the other classmates screamed with large blushes on their faces.
"Finally some yaoi action here," female Mineta shouted from the crowd.
Lewis, however, had gone deathly pale in absolute horror.
And that's exactly when he screamed.
Lewis's House
Lewis woke up with a terrified gasp on his bed. He looked around his darkened room and sighed in relief when he realised he was safe.
"Thank God," he uttered, "It was just a dream."
He felt something heavy in his lap and looked down to see the manga Honsakka, the paranoid writer he met at the convention, had sent him earlier that day as a thanks for helping him out. On the front cover, it depicted a handsome schoolboy in glasses surrounded by several beautiful girls. He must have dozed off while he was reading it. He sighed, placed the manga on his bedside table and pulled the covers over him again.
"Should have know it was a dream," he whispered to himself in amusement, "Harems. Like that would happen in real life."
