Ben 10: Alien Rebirth

29. Chapter 29

Ben 10: Alien Rebirth

Chapter 29: Super Alien Hero Buddies

We see the RustBucket driving along after dealing with a maniacal weather machine a few days prior at a concert to Max's favorite band. Ben had complained for a good chunk of the trip, but he and Max both enjoyed the concert in the very end.

Ben, Hope and Gwen are currently watching something on Gwen's laptop.

Gwen is wearing her contacts that day.

They had heard a new show called; 'Super Alien Hero Buddy Adventures' would be playing.

Ben, "what do you think this show will be about?"

Hope, "dunno. I doubt the aliens on the show will look as cool as yours."

Ben, "totally."

Gwen, "you already watch a ton of kids shows Ben. Kangaroo Commando, Sumo Slammers, and that stupid Captain Nemesis show."

Ben, "and what do you watch? Mostly shows about making and baking stuff."

Gwen, "I gotta learn new skills somehow."

Hope, "shh, it looks like the show is starting."

At first, Ben is excited, but the smile he has quickly fades as she sees what the show is about.

It was a goofy kids show starring cartoon versions of HeatBlast, FourArms, and WildMutt!

FourArms was called Handy Buddy, and spoke with a Scottish accent!

HeatBlast was called Fiery Buddy and given a, 'dude bro', voice.

WildMutt was called Animal Buddy, and talked like Scooby Doo!

Ben cringed at the horrible cartoon based off of his aliens.

Ben, "they totally ripped me off!"

Hope, "hey, it could be worse."

That's right when they saw a goofier looking version of Hope flying around on a broomstick with a witches hat and the name; "Magic-Girl", next to her.

Hope, "okay, I take it back, this is so much worse!"

Ben is unhappy to see his aliens being personified as someone else's idea. The same went for Hope, seeing her made to look like a joke.

Ben, "why the heck is FourArms scottish?!"

Hope, "don't ask me."

Gwen is laughing at all of this.

Ben, "why are you laughing? They didn't even put you on the show!"

Gwen, "yeah. Which means they don't make me and my own powers look completely stupid."

Ben and Hope had to admit, she had a point. The show made them look incredibly stupid….

….

We see later that the Rust Bucket has broken down near an amusement park called Planetary Studios.

Max, "well, I've gotta go get some parts to fix up the Rustbucket. Why don't you kids explore the place in the meantime?"

The kids all grew excited about this.

We soon see them in the park, but Ben and Hope look a little grumpy.

Gwen, "would you guys cheer up?"

Hope, "we can't help it. That stupid show made us look like a joke!"

Gwen, "well, is there anything that WILL cheer you up?"

Ben shrugs, but then suddenly grows excited as he sees a certain poster for one of his favorite shows!

Ben, "no way! Kangaroo Commando! This studio is where they make the show! And there's a meet and greet later on! That would be awesome!"

As Ben turns away, he bumps into a guy in a costume…. Of Handy Buddy.

Handy Buddy, "hello laddie! I'm Handy Buddy! I'm ready to fight some cri-"

He falls over from the big and bulky costume.

Ben and Hope cringed at the alien costume as he got back up.

Ben, "your stupid show is just ripping off those aliens on the news!"

Handy Buddy, "I dunno what you're talking about. I'm Handy Buddy! SuperHero!"

Hope groans and face-palms.

Handy Buddy goes off to talk to some kids who want a picture.

Ben, "I swear to God!"

Hope saw a little girl looking at her.

Hope, "um, yes sweety?"

The girl asked, "Magic Girl? Where's your hat?"

Hope held in her anger as she said, "I... I don't have a hat."

The girl walked away saying, "your costume needs work."

Hope grew angry and nearly lunged at the girl if it weren't for Ben and Gwen holding her back.

Gwen, "hey look!"

Ben, Hope and Gwen see a poster that advertises that the creator of the show, Tim Dean, is making an appearance.

Gwen, "looks like the creator of that show is here signing autographs."

Ben, "oh, I wanna give this Tim Dean guy a piece of my mind!"

Hope, "I'll save you a place in line!"

As they go to find Tim Dean, something catches Hope's eye.

They're selling hats based off of the one Magic Girl had.

Hope, "hmm, they want a hat, do they?"

Hope pays three bucks for a hat and uses her magic to change its shape.

It now looks like a long brimmed magenta fedora that she sits atop her head.

(Think a magenta colored Alucard hat.)

Hope, "much better."

She quickly rejoins with the others….

….

Tim is signing autographs, when Ben storms forward and rips one of his pictures of "Fiery-Buddy!"

Tim, "hey, watch it kid, that's a Tim Dean original."

Ben, "original? You stole those aliens from the news!"

Tim, "says who?"

Hope, "says us! You totally stole my looks too!"

Tim, "my characters are original creations. And besides, your Magic Girl costume is horrible. Especially that wig and that hat."

Hope, "my hat looks way better! And that's my natural hair color you son of a-"

Tim, "enough. Fiery Buddy? Handy Buddy? Take these kids away."

Ben is dragged away by Fiery Buddy as Hope is dragged away by Handy Buddy.

Ben, "their names are HeatBlast and FourArms! And why does FourArms have a Scottish accent!? It makes no sense for an alien to have an accent like that!"

Hope, "you won't get away with this Dean!"

Gwen looks at Dean.

Tim, "what're you looking at?"

Gwen, "can I get a picture of one of these?"

….

Ben is kicking a wall in anger as Hope is looking through her spell book.

Hope, "what kind of spell should I use on that jerk? Turn his hands into frogs? Remove his nose? Set his feet on fire?! Gah! Nothing's good enough!"

Ben, "how about we give him a taste of the real thing?"

Ben pulls down his wristband, activates the watch and hides behind a pillar, and transforms behind it. When he emerges, he's now HeatBlast.

HeatBlast, "let's see him rip off this!"

Gwen rubs the bridge of her nose in exasperation as Hope smirks and says, "I like the way you think, Ben."

But as they're about to head back to confront Dean, they hear a loud noise.

They run over to see a large sound stage and see Kangaroo Commando himself hanging from a burning building!

HeatBlast, "it's Kangaroo Commando! He's in trouble! I gotta save him!"

Gwen, "Ben! Wait!"

But HeatBlast doesn't listen and jumps into the fray, seemingly saving Kangaroo Commando and getting him in the ground! He then absorbs all of the fire from the building!

Kangaroo Commando, "what're you doing?"

HeatBlast, "just trying to help. I gotta say, I'm your biggest fan. I watch your show all the time!"

Kangaroo Commando, "and is that why you ruined my stunt show?"

HeatBlast, "uh…. Stunt show?"

HeatBlast looks at all of the people watching the stunt show.

Which was only a handful.

HeatBlast, "oh, uh, sorry. Here, let me start another fire for ya!"

HeatBlast tries to start a normal fire, but fails when the flames go utterly crazy.

Kangaroo Commando growls and kicks HeatBlast away with some mechanized boots, nearly knocking him into the water before he jumps atop one of the stunt buildings, with Kangaroo Commando jumping atop the building across from him.

Kangaroo Commando, whose real name is Abel North, says, "you're working for Tim Dean, aren't you! Him and his stupid cartoon."

HeatBlast, "no way! His show is ripping me and my friend off!"

Abel, "ha, please. This is just a stunt made by Dean to ruin my show! Well it ain't gonna work!"

Heatblast and North fight atop the set, well, more so Ben as dodging North's strikes as best as he could, with people cheering as they think the whole thing was just a show.

And one of the people to see it from afar is Tim Dean!

He looks incredibly angry over it.

Abel manages to knock HeatBlast into the water, who cuts his losses and swims away with steam rising over the water as everyone cheers for Kangaroo Commando.

….

Later, Abel is giving autographs to a large number of people.

Including Ben, who was actually happy to get an autograph from him. Hope and Gwen were right behind him, with the former chucking at his enthusiasm.

Abel, "ya know, I built all of the gadgets. Designed the costume. I made sure to give everything a personal touch."

Ben, "so cool."

Just then, Tim Dean storms in with an angry rage and two of his suited mascots with him.

Tim, "you! What do you think you're doing?!"

Abel, "what're you talking about?"

Tim, "you stole Fiery Buddy for that stupid stunt show of yours!"

Abel, "you mean you sent your little mascot to mess with my stunt show!"

Ben, "at least his show's original."

Tim, "not you again."

Hope, "yes, us again. You make those aliens and that girl with the powers look like total chumps."

Tim, "why do you care?"

Hope, "because we-"

Gwen, "are big fans of those cool aliens."

Hope, "... er right."

Ben, "and that cool sorceress!"

Hope blushes at that.

The two show creators continue arguing as the kids go off to go ride on a ride or two, with Ben and Hope wanting to get as far away from Dean as possible.

….

A little later, Ben and Gwen are on the Kangaroo Commando ride as Hope is outside getting some cotton candy.

But as the cousins ride the roller coaster, it suddenly begins to break down as the track begins to break!

Gwen, "what's going on?!"

Ben, "how should I know!?"

The ride is suddenly caught by Abel in his Kangaroo Commando gear!

Ben, "Kangaroo Commando!"

Abel, "hang on kids!"

Kangaroo Commando is able to get Ben and the others to safety outside of the ride.

As Kangaroo Commando goes to save more people, Ben sees a falling piece of track!

Ben quickly runs behind a bush and dials the watch and tries to turn into WildMutt, but he transforms into FourArms instead.

FourArms, "good enough!"

He runs forward and manages to save Kangaroo Commando from the falling piece of track, grabbing it and lifting it over his head.

FourArms, "need a hand? Or four?"

Abel, "ah, you must be one of those new animatronics that the park's been building?"

FourArms, "actually, I'm the real deal."

Before they can discuss anything further, another cart on the ride begins to fall. Abel and FourArms work together to save the kids and get them to safety.

The kid, "you could get in trouble ripping off Handy Buddy like that."

The kid is obviously unaware that Handy Buddy actually already ripped off FourArms.

FourArms, "so, sue me."

Hope runs over to Gwen and says, "what happened?"

Gwen, "someone sabotaged the ride."

Abel looks over the damage and finds the explosives that tore the ride apart. Along with an animator's glove!

Abel, "an animator's glove? Hmm, I think security needs to have a word with Tim Dean…."

The watch begins to beep, and so FourArms runs off and hides as he reverts back into Ben.

….

We later see Abel confronting Tim.

Abel, "you wrecked the Kangaroo Commando ride, I know it!"

Tim, "that's ridiculous! Where the Hell would I get explosives!?"

Abel steps forward and reveals explosives behind his curtain!

Abel, "I knew it! Security!"

Tim, "those aren't mine! I didn't do anything!"

Security grabs Tim as he protests that he didn't sabotage the ride.

As Tim is being taken away by security, Gwen says, "this doesn't make any sense."

Ben, "what makes you say that?"

Gwen, "Tim is left-handed. Whoever set those explosives was right-handed!"

Hope, "hmm, something strange is going on."

Ben, "then I suggest we figure out what's going on…."

….

We see StinkFly flying through the air with Hope and Gwen using their magic to fly.

Gwen flies with a pink platform of magic, while Hope uses wind to fly.

They see a large screen advertising Super Alien Hero Buddy Adventures.

Announcer, "hey, folks. Don't forget, we'll be premiering a brand-new episode of Super Alien Hero Buddy Adventures right here on the big screens at Planetary Studios Hollywood."

StinkFly, "I've got a premiere for you!"

He then spits mucus all over the TV screens.

Gwen, "petty, much?"

Hope, "oh, I would have done a lot worse."

They then see Abel North heading towards his dressing room.

Gwen, "look, North is heading for his dressing room. Let's get down there."

StinkFly, "I'll land when I'm good and ready."

Like clockwork bad luck, the Omnitrix begins to beep.

StinkFly, "NOW I'M GOOD AND READY!"

StinkFly reverts back into Ben.

Ben nearly falls into a pool, if it weren't for Hope and Gwen grabbing him.

As they get down to the ground, a security guard spots them.

He yells, "hey, you three, stop!"

He chases after them, but they are able to sneak away and get right outside of North's dressing room.

They hear him seemingly arguing with himself.

"You can't do this. This could hurt a ton of people."

"I don't care. People will know the truth!"

Before they can hear anything else, they are then caught by the security guard! They are taken away to the normal part of the studio.

….

Planetary Studios later tries to present a new episode of Super Alien Hero Buddy Adventures.

Ben and the others see the large TV screen showing off the advertisement.

But the screen changes to show Abel hanging over a vat of chemicals!

Everyone, even the announcer, was shocked by what was going on!

Hope, "holy crap!"

Ben, "someone's gotta do something. And fast."

Ben activates the watch and attempts to transform into XLR8, but he transforms into Wildvine instead.

Wildvine, "ugh! Well, better than nothing."

Wildvine grapples away as Hope and Gwen hear yelling!

They turn to see Tim running past, being chased and captured by…. Kangaroo Commando!?

Gwen, "what the-!?"

Hope, "what's going on? We just saw Abel being held over a vat of chemicals!"

Gwen, "I think I know. Come on, we gotta follow them!"

Gwen and Hope run off in the direction where Kangaroo Commando had gone with Dean.

….

Wildvine meets up with Hope and Gwen as all three arrive there.

Wildvine, "what're you two doing here?"

Gwen, "we saw Kangaroo Commando capturing Tim Dean!"

Wildvine, "what? But I thought Abel was over a vat of chemicals!?"

Hope, "then let's figure out what the heck is going on."

They had arrived at a burning building.

All three rush in to see Tim being brought out over the chemicals, right next to where Abel was hanging.

Tim, "what the?! How the Hell are you hanging there when you just captured me?!"

Abel, "I didn't capture you! But I think I know who did!"

They then hear the chain around their legs preparing to drop them!

As both men are suddenly dropped, Wildvine rushes in and saves Tim, swinging him to safety.

Gwen and Hope use their magic to save Abel, carrying him over to the others.

The building starts to collapse around all of them, but Wildvine, Gwen, Hope, and the creators manage to escape.

Wildvine, "phew, that was close. Now, who the heck is behind all of this?"

Abel, "I know who. Follow me!"

Abel leads the group to another building and a control room.

They entered the control room, where a man who looked exactly like Abel was sitting, where the only difference was they had a mustache and gray sideburns.

Gwen, "who are you?"

Abel, "he's my brother, Kane North."

Wildvine, "didn't he also play your brother on the show?"

Kane, "fools! I'm the real Kangaroo Commando. I built all the gadgets and special effects while you took all the credit."

Gwen, "so why'd you kidnap Dean?"

Kane, "because he stole my idea for Super Alien Hero Buddies! He even changed the name! I was gonna call it something like; The Alien Force, or The Ultimate Aliens!"

Hope, "much better names."

Gwen, "maybe don't agree with the bad guy right now?"

Kane, "but now the world will know the true creator of Kangaroo Commando and Super Alien Hero Buddy Adventures!"

Wildvine, "can't anyone in Hollywood come up with something original?!"

Everyone glanced at the people reading for a moment, as if to say, 'ain't that topical.'

Kane throws a smoke bomb and quickly runs out, grabbing both Tim and Abel using mechanical gloves!

Wildvine quickly follows behind with Gwen and Hope. They chase after them until they get onto the roof of the building!

In order to stall his pursuers, Kane throws Tim towards the edge of the building!

Wildvine continues to chase after Kane and Abel, (hehe, get it?)

During this, Gwen and Hope quickly used their magic to stop Tim from slipping off of the building, grabbing him with several pink hands that got him to safety.

Tim looks surprised at this.

Hope, "for the record, my name is CharmCaster, which is a MUCH cooler name than Magic Girl!"

Wildvine follows and punches Kane, allowing him to grab Abel and leaps away in order to get him to safety.

Abek, "whew, thanks!"

Wildvine, "no problem."

The plant alien makes his finger sharp like a knife and cuts the ropes, getting Abel free. But suddenly, Kane jumps in, and the two begin fighting. Kane uses his gadgets as Windvine uses his various powers to fight.

Wildvine shoots several vines at Kane, who cuts them down with a wrist blade!

People on the ground see the whole thing going on, finding the whole thing absolutely nuts!

Wildvine continues to battle Kane, but like clockwork bad luck, the watch beeps and reverts our hero back into his human form!

Ben, "oh, gosh darnit!"

Kane, "no one's gonna ruin my plans! Especially not some snot nosed little brat!"

Kane is about to attack Ben with his knife, but Abel quickly runs up and punches his brother hard enough to knock him out flat.

The people cheer for Abel as he helps Ben up.

Ben, "thanks."

Abel, "no problem, kid."

….

We later see Kane being arrested by the authorities, growing under his breath.

Abel and Tim are talking to one another after the whole thing.

Abel, "ya know Tim, I gotta say that those aliens of yours are really creative."

Tim, "really? Well, I gotta say, Kangaroo Commando was one of my favorite shows growing up."

Abel, "maybe we can collaborate at some point?"

Tim, "well, I've heard the studio has been wanting to build up some form of cinematic universe. Imagine if we joined up?"

Abel, "my thoughts exactly."

As the men were about to walk away, Ben said, "hey! What about us!?"

Hope, "we saved your butts!"

Tim, "sorry kids. Maybe when you're older…."

Tim and Abel walk away, leaving Ben and Hope to glare after them.

Ben, "Hope, remind me to sue those jerks when I'm older."

Hope, "I'm writing it down!"

Gwen, "well, my dad is a lawyer…."

That's when they see Max returning from his shopping spree.

Max, "so, how was your time here?"

Gwen, "I had a great time."

Ben and Hope, "eh."

Gwen, "uh, Grandpa, are all of those for the RustBucket?"

Max, "oh, no. I was at a gift shop and found these action figures. They look a lot like Ben's aliens and Hope, so I thought they might like them."

Max pulled out some action figures from Super Alien Hero Buddies.

Ben, "ugh, Grandpa!"

Hope muttered a spell, and changed the action figures to look a lot more like what they're supposed to.

Hope, "much better."

Ben, "you can say that again."

And thus ended a rather interesting day for your heroes….

….

We later see Kane North in a jail cell, looking over newspaper articles of Ben's aliens saving the day.

He growled out, "I'm gonna get outta here. And when I do, that kid is toast!"

Like other characters, Kane North will make a reappearance later on.

I decided to skip Monster Weather, but mention it at the beginning.

Sorry if this chapter wasn't as detailed as previous ones.

Up next is Under Wraps, an episode I was gonna skip at first, but then I remembered how important it is, since it introduces the mummy alien, along with Ben getting this new alien; DoomStone, (aka; Snarroh.)

One joke I plan on doing later is Ben being a fan of the PCU, the Ben 10 universes version of the MCU.

Consisting of;

Sumo Slammers, (Thor, since he comes from another world.)

Kangaroo Commando, (Iron Man/Batman, because of the gadgets.)

Captain Nemesis, (Captain America, who gets recast after the incident with him turning evil.)

SAHB, (the Guardians of the Galaxy, where Ben eventually gets royalties for them using his likeness.)

And Professor Paradox, (Doctor Strange, Paradox appeared at the studio and pitched the idea to a writer, just for a bit of fun that caused the show to be made.)

In the Negative Ten, the list has changed a good chunk. Sublimo, the Circus Freaks, Hope, (for obvious reasons), and the Forever Ninja were replaced with certain characters

So the new list is;

Driscoll, (who doesn't get the suit until a little later.)

Dr. Viktor, (who wears the cloak of the werewolf and bandages of the mummy, and provides Driscoll with what he needs.)

Rojo, (who would be the Forever Ninja due to Dr. Viktor giving her the tech she needs.)

Hex, (obviously he switches places with Hope, due to her being a good guy.)

Kevin, (he gets free from the Null Void, and Ben finally manages to get him to switch sides near the end.)

Malware or Phil Billings, who either will hold a grudge against Max.

Doctor Animo, (he'll have a dragon-like suit.)

Clancy, (Animo will be the reason for him becoming a bug man.)

Zombozo, (who Hex brings back as an actual zombie.)

Kane North, (wants revenge; and wears a darker Kangaroo Commando outfit.)

And as one final note: once my Green Lantern story poll gets enough votes, I'm going to start a new poll for a future crossover….
